The contact owns a 2016 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that while driving at 50-55 mph, the vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into the median. The contact stated that only the front driver side door air bag deployed. The contact and his wife sustained injuries and the contact's wife was transported by ambulance to the hospital. It was unknown if there was a police report filed. The vehicle was towed to the towing yard where it was awaiting inspection from the insurance company. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Lights and warring sounds go off when stationary

When driving at night with headlights on auto, i put the turn signal on, and all lights (interior, dash, and headlights) randomly go out. This also happens randomly at night when changing lanes (using turn signal) and i must quickly turn them on manually. It is very frightening and has happened several times so i took it to chantilly hyundai and they could not recreate it so did nothing. This is a significant safety issue and has been reported to the nhtsa 5 times, by different people all over the country. Something has to be done.

Battery discharge error comes on and stays on for five seconds then goes off.wait about 40 seconds and this repeats over and over.driving 8 miles to work this came on 35 or more times.i was able to capture several videos and showed the service manager.they could not get this to repeat while in their possession and it still randomly happens and has not been repaired.

Automatic headlights randomly shut off and back on when driving without operation of the headlight switch

While driving the other night, my headlights turned off on their own. The headlight setting was set to auto and they flickered twice before shutting all the way off. At this time i was on a dark road without streetlights. The only way to remedy immediately was to turn the headlight setting to on rather than auto. This also happened this morning as it was raining but i figured that was due to gloomy weather.

Sometimes the car won't power on until i slam the door or go through the trunk to wiggle the battery cables. If i turn the steering wheel left it knocks the power out. Sometimes while driving when dark the headlights and go off suddenly then flash back on.

While driving 70 mph on a highway at night all the interior lighting, dash, and headlights went completely out for three seconds then came back on.we slowed down but this happened three times before we reached our destination.took it to the dealer who was able to recreate the problem and repair the car.

The contact owns a 2016 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while driving approximately 50-55 mph, the abs warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 21v160000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to nalley hyundai (7909 mall pkwy, lithonia, ga 30038, (770) 999-0443) however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer confirmed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 38,000. Parts distribution disconnect. *dt

Vehicle only had about 2000 miles when it first did this.dash display malfunction.when backing up display is blacked out.you can't see any video from back up camera.also display goes out while driving.gave video evidence to dealer so they know i'm not crazy.sometimes you turn car off and lock the car and the display is still playing.dealer could get this issue to recreate while in there possession for four tries later is still does not work.this is even after a "final" repair was offered by the dealer which consisted of a total dash replacement the manager said cost hyundai over $5000.

Lights and warring sounds go off when stationary

Drivers side window would only go down or up about 1 inch at a time no matter if you press and hold the button up or down, or press and release.dealer could not get this to repeat and it is still not repaired.

About a month before the incident, the vehicle was fully imspected in official dealership, no issues reported. A few days before the incident, the wipers started working with the engine off; i scheduled an appointment for an inspection. The vehicle was leased with about 10 months left on the lease.on april 13, 2018 after driving for 1,5-2 hours, i parked it and went to the office for 10-15 minutes; on my way back to the vehicle i heard the fire trucks coming; as i was approaching my vehicle i realized that my vehicle was on fire.the inspector reported the engine explosion due to manufacturers problem. So basically happy to be alive as nobody knows what would had happened with me and my kids in the vehicle driving on a highway; so after more than 3,5 months hyundai finncial still did not close the case although they stated that they are in the process of paying offthe vehicle. Nobody ever said sorry; i call to hyundai / hyundai financial every day and all they do is they tranfer me from one department to another; the case manager assigned to our case never picks the phone, never calls back, to reach him i need to call to the supervisor and complain and only than i receive a call from him. 2 months ago he stated he would close the case the coming monday. No actions since then so far.

"takata recall" i was in motion driving less than 30miles/hour in traffic, stopping few times and kept a good distance. All of a sudden, i applied the brakes to stop but the vehicle did not stop and kept moving fast. I applied the brakes soo hard, vehicle did not stop thecollision system that was suppose to stop the vehicle and avoid the collison did nothing. I reported the same issue when i took the vehicle to the dealership during my 1st service and expressed concern regarding the sensors not working. The car has only 6,000 miles. The day was sunny and this happen during rush hour off on golf road in des plaines illinois

Sometimes the car won't power on until i slam the door or go through the trunk to wiggle the battery cables. If i turn the steering wheel left it knocks the power out. Sometimes while driving when dark the headlights and go off suddenly then flash back on.

Tip of the dip stick broke off inside of engine.

The engine makes a very loud noise and the car vibrates when the ac is on. The dealer has yet to resolve the issue after 6 weeks

Fluttering/rattling noise occurs around 25-30 mph when cruising.

I purchaseda2016 hyundia genesis on dec. 17, 2015. I enrolled in their blink service that night and attempted to enroll in their remote car starting service that is an added service to their blink connect service. We were unable to add the remotepackage due to an internet server problem. We were able to successfully enroll in the remote starting service until dec 21.on the morning of 12/23 i logged on to the smartphone app andproceeded to remote start my car for 2 minutes. My car was parked3 car detached garage with double door garage door opened. I stood at backdoor to watch the car start successfully. I walked away and 5 minutes later i when to see that my car was no longer running. It was not. I left my garage door opened.i was in my office and at 1:10 pm my next door neighbor who can also see my garage from back of her house to tell me the lights on my car have been on for long time. She knew i bought a new car and thought it was strange that my lights were still on. I investigate the problem. I found my car with the lights on with the engine running.the dashboard display showed that i was low on fuel. Iturned off car and immediately contacted hyundia customer care and spoke to a representative to report my extreme concern. Before i purchased i called hyundia to make sure that this car had an automatic shut off program system. I saw a 60 min report on people who died after forgetting to turn off car with key less starters and their cars did not have an automatic shut off program.the hyindia customer rep took my report told me to have dealer service check system and also turned me over to a blink rep who i reported the incidence to with all the details who gave me the case number of bl000293583. I had driven the car the night before and note that their was 7/8 of a tank left.car had to be running forhours to use that much gas b4 i shut car off.

When you turn on the a/c the car makes a noise like there is a motorcycle in the back seat - the noise is very noticeable when you are in idle or sitting at a light -italso gets terrible gas mileage - certainly not what they advertisethe car was at coconut creek hyundai for over 40 days and they changed the fuel injectors / motor mounts / fly wheel / and some fan for the acat one point you could not sit in the car with the ac onwell hyundai wanted me to pay them $3600 to get out of the lease on a lemon law deal - that in my opinion is total bsthey sell me a lemon of a car and they want to charge me to get out of itwell the noise did get less annoying but the other day it is back again and i just hung up on the dealershipaccording to the service manager they see other vehicles like the genesis sedan and the new g80 having the same issuehyundai will not help me and cannot fix this vehicleis there anything the federal government can do how about a nationwide recall ???maybe then they will figure out what is wrong

If i do not fill the auto with a premium blend gasoline the car will inconsistently over rev and jerk into gear if i accelerate somewhat suddenly. This response is quite odd and could cause an accident since the car kicks into gear rather hard after accelerating and then letting off the gas. The sensation is the same as experiencing a light but loud rear end collision from behind.the car is luxurious and big therefore, you wouldn't expect this type jolting from the drive train.

The contact owns a 2016 hyundai genesis. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart and was taken to courtesy hyundai (939 newport ave, pawtucket, ri 02861) for diagnostic testing, but the contact was unaware of the results. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred one year later. The vehicle was taken back to courtesy hyundai. The cause of the failure could not be determined, but they replaced the fuel pump. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.

Changed lanes at 30 to 40 mph in a residential area, removed foot from gas pedal, heard engine revving high then within one to two seconds i felt and heard a hard bang and heavy push. Thought someone hit me, but no one did. Car startled me and my wife. It felt like the engine disconnected from the transmission, then reengaged, which gave the sudden outcome.this has been three weeks and no further incident. I could only imagine if this happened on a high way or at a critical point of driving. I think it can be a safety concern.

Sometimes the car won't power on until i slam the door or go through the trunk to wiggle the battery cables. If i turn the steering wheel left it knocks the power out. Sometimes while driving when dark the headlights and go off suddenly then flash back on.

Sudden loss of power at freeway speed. Driving at freeway speed late at night with adaptive cruise control on, i accelerated and changed lanes to the left to avoid a collision with an inattentive driver. Immediately after changing lanes to the right to return to my lane, the car stopped responding to throttle input. Rpm gradually decreased to zero and the car stalled. No warning lights until the engine stopped at the right shoulder of the freeway. I restarted the engine. Still no warning lights. The car entered a limp-home mode with max rpm around 1500, very slow acceleration, max speed about 50 mph. It did not stall again during the 10 mile trip home. Towed to dealer. Dealer states that the obd2 fault code was p1230, low fuel pressure. The technician test drove the car and reproduced the behavior. Initial diagnosis was "failure of high-pressure fuel pump." today (5 days after incident) the dealer states that hyundai tech support recommends additional diagnostics prior to replacing the fuel pump.

When driving at night with headlights on auto, i put the turn signal on, and all lights (interior, dash, and headlights) randomly go out. This also happens randomly at night when changing lanes (using turn signal) and i must quickly turn them on manually.this specifically happens when using turn signal stalk, all lights will turn off unexpectedly. Big safety hazard for driving at night.

While driving 70 mph on a highway at night all the interior lighting, dash, and headlights went completely out for three seconds then came back on.we slowed down but this happened three times before we reached our destination.took it to the dealer who was able to recreate the problem and repair the car.

While driving during the day or night, the headlights switch on and off.this occurs when the lights are in the auto mode. The dash shows the lights go from auto to drls to off then back on.this happens randomly and is extremely dangerous when driving at night.the dealership refuses to fix the issue because they 'say' they cannot replicate.there needs to be an investigation before something tragic happens and not after something tragic happens. I have a video of this occurring but cannot upload it to the site.

Headlights are set in 'auto' mode, but erratically/sporadically with no rhyme or reason, they will shut off, then turn on.one time i was able to record the event on my phone (available is requested).but another time they turned off then on (like i was flashing my lights) while driving.another car was trying to enter traffic and thought i was flashing him to enter, resulting with me hard-braking to avoid hitting the entering car.this 'flashing' of lights has happened on more than one occasion, but i can't duplicate on demand (which is why the hyundai dealer is stating they can't do anything about it.this is a driving safety issue.this has happened on numerous occasions, but i indicated the latest below.

While driving the other night, my headlights turned off on their own. The headlight setting was set to auto and they flickered twice before shutting all the way off. At this time i was on a dark road without streetlights. The only way to remedy immediately was to turn the headlight setting to on rather than auto. The headlights will go out intermittently while driving.it happens when the turn signal is on.it has happened the vehicle is stopped at a red light/stop sign, and when the vehicle is on the highway or sexondary roads. It is very un nerving because you dont know when it might happen. It has been in the hyundai dealership several times to be repaired but it atill has the same issue.i contacted hyundai corp about 25 days ago and they still have not scheduled the car in to be checked out.they are not taking this serious at all.it is a safety concern to us.

The contact owns a 2016 hyundai genesis. While driving, the vehicle lost power. The contact was able to maneuver the vehicle off the road onto the shoulder. The vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed on an incline. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (chapman hyundai scottsdale, 6601 e mcdowell rd #3, scottsdale, az 85257, 480-949-7600), but the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer informed the contact to bring the vehicle back if the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was provided case number: 10243115. I was in a turn lane with the car running in park.when the light turned green, the car would not shift to drive. I was blocking traffic. I turned on my hazard lights. Ithen turned the engine off/on. The car then shifted to drive with a harsh jerk!. I was able to get to my destination. When leaving, my car again would not shift into drive and i noticed that the "check engine light came on. I tried stopping and starting a few times. The car would not shift to drive. It would only go in park, neutral and reverse. I had to have the car towed to my house. I will have the dealership check it on monday.

Propeller shaft assembly / drive shaft assembly. Result: dealer replaced under factory warranty in 2018 and noise no longer exists. Previously, between 15 mph and 20 mph at cruise speed and no acceleration, a loud buffeting/recoiling/cuffing noise is audible in the cabin. Sounds as though it originates under the floor boards. Heard this from the moment i purchased the vehicle new with 15 miles on the odometer until i brought it in to the dealer two years later, which, as written above, they diagnosed the source to the propeller shaft / drive shaft assembly.

After a few months of ownership (purchased new) the driver seat and arm rest are showing excessive signs of wear.after owning numerous vehicles with leather interior this is the worst i've seen is sucha short time.

May anti-lock brake light has been common for over a year now. I took it to the dealership but they claim that hey could not find it. 6 month later i find out it's a recall for my car for this exact reason. They claim they would start to fix this problem may 1st ... Unfortunately it's may 10th and i still have not received anything about my car or getting it fix.

I found out there is a recall on my car from yahoo.com, so i do smell a burning smell in my car.

After my trip, when i drove the car the handle of the wheel did not move. Don't rotate a steering wheel caused by an outside influence. Hyundai says that an outside influence is a damage caused by rodents. If i drive the car on the highway and the steering wheel does not work. The problem makes the big accident. I think it's a serious problem of the steering wheel which should use thing that is a strong materials and design against external influences. It is necessary to investigate whether the strength of steering wheel parts is proper. I know that the company has recalled similar problems in other models.

Passenger front door handle snapped free when attempting to open. The rear plastic retaining cap failed prematurely on a seldomly used door. The failure resulted in the door not being able to be opened from the outside. If this occurred during an emergency situation where the front passenger was incapacitated and needed rapid extraction it is probable the passenger would wind up a fatality.

The vehicle is was on a highway doing 70mph with no other vehicles in front or near by. The panoramic sunroof suddenly exploded sending tiny pieces of glass all over the vehicle interior. The sunroof was not hit by any debri on the road. The weather was sunny with 50f.

This is awful, i was just driving on a sunny sunday and i heard the wind and start wondering what is causing it. Then i opened the sunroof window and pieces of glass started to fall over my head and all over my car. This is ridiculous, why hyundai is using so cheap glass that explodes when driving under normal circumstances? they need to be accountable for that and admitted they have a problem. I research online, and there's a lawsuit in which they agreed to fix it but who knows, that was in 2019. I will take it to the dealership, but the experience isn't a pleasant one.

The shark fin cover fell off for no apparent reason. No automated car washes, no inclement weather and the screw holders (plastic) broke. Has to be a manufacturing defect. I can't find replacement cover. I was driving on a highway on a clear night.

I took a four year lease on a new 2016 hyundai genesis 3.8, fully loaded including bluelink navigational system.dealer said that the updates and downloads over the next 4 years would automatically be installed "remotely" on my vehicle only to find out, the 4 year prepaid bluelink navigational system cannot do updates on my particular vin#.it did not have the correct navigation and display installed.when i called bluelink emergency number, i was on the phone for 20 minutes and they could not identify the car nor locate me by my phone number.totally misleading and deceptive representation by the dealer.hyundai corporate and bluelink (owned by hyundai) did not have a solution other than take my name off their mailing list of updates available so i would not become agitatedor annoyed when the e-mails were sent notifying of updates available!

At around 18500 miles this car started to make a very loud grinding noise and vibrates only when the ac is on the dealer and the hyundai engineer first said it was bad gas / clogged fuel injectors / noise does not appear when the ac is off - ruling out bad gasthen they said it was the fly wheel - changed that and the noise and vibrations got worsethen they said is was the motor mounts - no change in the noise of vibrationsthen they said it was a fan for the ac unit - noise is still there but a little quieternoise and vibration only appears when the ac is on and it does not matter if the car is moving or sitting stilloverall they have no clue what is wrong with this car and i hope the government forces genesis to do a major recall on every genesis sold

Strong mold smell from the ac system

The first incidence occurred a few months after purchase when we noticed that an emergency warning light went off while traveling to a vacation.it then went off after a few hours so we waited until our return to report it to the dealer, sunbury motor company hyundai division in sunbury, pa. They set up an appointment and i assumed fixed the problem because this specific light never went on again.we did notice and reported that at times the beeping and lighting up of the collision warning safety feature did not work properly.this actually resulting in a small scrap directly below the sensor while parking.we made another appointment but they could not find the cause.i asked our salesperson, chris faust, if this would result in a charge on our leased vehicle and he said no it was an easy fix.we were leaving for our annual snowbird trip to florida in a few days and the lease was over shortly after we returned home so i said it wasn't that noticeable.we would not be able to take it in for repair.chris said that it would not be a problem upon inspection and if questioned they would repair it before.i said fine.while in florida, close to the time for our trip home we were almost in an accident when a vehicle suddenly stopped in front of us while pulling out of a shopping center unto a busy street.none of the warning systems or auto braking systems worked and the result was missing the vehicle by inches along with severely jolting my wife and i.it did result in a neck injury to me which i thought was muscular and would go away but it did not.the injury was treated and is still being treated. After reading some of the safety issues with the hyundai genesis we decided not to purchase the vehicle.both hyundai and sunbury motors were aware of the last incidence but have not acknowledged it.our attorney recommended that we make you aware of the issue.
