Read complaints for HYUNDAI GENESIS (2015)

The airbag is defective and will not deploy. No idea as to the cause as this was a recently purchased car. No outstanding airbag recalls and yet no reported accidents and no history of airbag deployment. The dealer who sold us the car assumes a manufacturer defect.

The vehicle, a 2015 hyundai genesis 5.0 in relatively slow motion entering a parking lot, was involved in a passenger side impact accident on 10/6/15.the other car sustained frontal damage and was towed but the genesis remained drivable.four (4) days later, on 10/10/15, while in motion, the passenger side and curtain airbags spontaneously deployed.

Entering into a right turn lane the vehicle may have grazed a curb. Immediate explosion & both right side air bags blew causing minor injuries to passengers.the car is new, approx. 985 miles and the tires had been replaced that morning with michelins under a tire exchange program.there is noexternal body damage to the vehicle, however the rear axle appears to be bent. Why would air bags deploy by bumping a curb at low speed?

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while the headlights were on the auto setting, the headlights occasionally flickered on and off independently. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light also inadvertently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and was diagnosed with the wiring harness needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that an engineer would be sent out to inspect the vehicle. The engineer was not heard from and the vehicle was not inspected. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While driving 40 mph, the headlights shut off without warning. The failure caused the instrument panel lights to shut off as well. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated on another occasion. The contact stated that the air bags were replaced in 2015. The vehicle was taken to mitsubishi potamkin of manhattan, new york where the headlight failure could not be duplicated; therefore, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure with the air bag, but not the headlights. The failure mileage was 11,717.

New 2015 hyundai genesis 3.8 v6, driven only 6407 miles in 11 months, showed airbag malfunction warning display. Car was in perfect condition and parked inside a covered car garage before going on vacation. After returning from the vacation, noticed the airbag warning light. Took the car to an authorized hyundai dealer, who diagnosed and said the airbag deployment control electronic board has failed and needs immediate replacement.hyundai dealer also advised me not to drive the car without the fix and provided a loner car and sent me home.it took three days for the dealer to order the airbag control electronic board- part no: spo 95910-b1000 and to fix the issue (b1620 internal fault-replaced srscm).i am totally disappointed that a key system like airbag deployment control unit could fail in a high-end, luxury car like hyundai genesis that too while it was parked in southern california garage. It is scary to imaging airbag deployment control unit failing whiling driving through mojave desert and air bag deploying on your face without any reason. Hyundai should critically follow and examine airbag warning issue.

My 2015 genesis having starting issue. I went to youtube & lots of peoples has posted their videos with same issue. Genesis as a company not doing anything to correct or resolve this recalls issue.

2015 hyundai genesison dec. 23 at 5;30 pm my car died while i was stopped at a traffic light on a five lane state road. All malfunction lights came on. I used my flashers called the police and waited about 10 minutes with cars whizzing around me. Two police cars accompanied by a fire engine arrived blocked all lanes of the road while firemen pushed the car off the road to safety. The car was towed to dealer where it remained for 14 days. Problem with ecu.on july 25, 2015 my genesis with 5888 miles would not go over 4 mph and then died while on a private road. All malfunction lights were lit.car towed to dealer where it was for 6 days. Problem with ecu.even though the car has been repaired twice i am now afraid to drive this car and feel there is a safety defect over which i have no control.the next time it fails i might not be so lucky.

While driving at 60 mph, speedometer, odometer, turn signals, power steering assist and other accessories stopped functioning.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that there was a plastic cover over the key on the front driver side door that failed to come off, which prevented the key from being used. The vehicle could only be opened using the key fob and the driver door was the only door that had a key. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

I was attempting to make a left turn into traffic whenseveral dashboard indicators went off and the power steering shut down. Myfamily and i were almost hit by on coming traffic! in seconds i was faced with having to turn off and restart the vehicle in order to get it to work correctly and get out of the road. Got home and parked it over night and the next day the same thing happened again with steering and instrument cluster. I absolutely do not feel safe in this vehicle! 2015 genesis 5.0

On june 2, 2017, i was attempting to park my vehicle in a parking stall at a minimum speed of 5-8 mph.suddenly, the engine revved up, instrument panel flashed and radio changed stations.when trying to brake the car, the brakes did not engage and i subsequently hit a wall.the airbags did not deploy.when the ealer came to get the car, the individual picking up the car indicated something was wrong with the breaking mechanism. However, the dealer and manufacturer says nothing was wrong with the car but won't provide the details of the report.

Daytime running lights(drl) and front turn signal bulbs burn out very frequently due to the face they are the same filament in the bulb even though they require a dual filament bulb.the wiring harnesses also show significant signs of overheating.this is a very widely-known issue in the online forums for this car and is an annoying and unsafe issue.

Electronic gremlins periodically hit. -at random times the front or rear sensors don't "see" objects. I have kissed bumpers with another car when neither of us saw the other, and my genesis failed to see. It's allowed me on at least two occasions to pull too close to objects in front.-worse, there are random episodes where the adaptive cruise control fails to see traffic in front of it. Numerous times we have narrowly missed collisions when we had to quickly and forcefully apply brakes. I've experienced this as has my wife and more importantly clients!-the self-retracting mirrors frequently to not work properly and we have to manually override.

Hyundai genesis 2015 8 cylinder electrical system caused a battery discharge and failure while parked in garage. Automobile had only 7055 miles on the odometer. No reason for the failure found by hyundai service representative

The car cut off on my twice different days while i was driving on one of the freeway once while turning into my drivingway3rd i tried to start my car this morningstarted less than a mili second and would not turned back on

After tire recall and computer update we first noticed a vibration or shudder for the first few miles.dealer eventually changed 23 separate tires and problem persists.m. Stahl of hyundai states this is a characteristic of low profile tires.electrical problems began showing up on a rotating basis.including, park assist not working regularly.ventilation changing on its own.blind spot indicators not working.rear windows not working.heated seats not heating.dash display changes on it's own.folding mirrors not folding as they should.car went dead once.zero acceleration twice when merging into traffic.smart trunk not functioning.vents blowing ice cold air without ac being on.most of these have been photographed or videod.dealer employees have also witnessed most of these.occurrences have been in all driving conditions from stationary, back roads and highways.i have all repair orders documenting over 60 days of loss of use while car was at the dealer.

At times the vechicle surges forward when close to another vechicle when in cruise control. Heads lights have turn off, on, automatic, low with out any human interaction. Navagation screen went completely blank

While driving at night with lights in automatic mode, the headlights will turn off for a few seconds and the dash will indicate the lights mode has changed, before the lights will turn back on.this has occurred multiple times typically at night along rural highways but has occurred along lit streets as well.it has happened while simply driving along a straight stretch of road as well as when turning or switching from brights to dims.this safety hazard has fortunately not yet resulted in losing control of the vehicle due to lack of awareness regarding position on the road and could result in a serious accident.date listed is the most recent time the incident occurred.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that rodent's chewed on the wires inside the engine compartment, which caused the air conditioning unit to malfunction. The air conditioner unit needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.

Back up camera. I have replaced the back up camera 3x and it is still messing up. No longer under warranty, when it was like i said it was replaced 3x. The back up camera acts up when put in reverse, it shows a blue screen at times other times it glitches and shows black and white, etc.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that while attempting to use the key fob to get into the vehicle, the doors failed to unlock.the contact stated that the traditional key was used to try to open the lock but failed to allow the contact access into the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the vehicle's system needed to be reset and the battery in the key fob needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,700. Updated 9/28/15

The driver side front turn signal intermittently inoperable.when under warrantee, had dealership repair 5-6 times without success.they changed bulbs and both electrical harnesses.problem still exists.took the car into a different dealer and they stated that the left and right sockets burned internal to headlight assembly.this has occurred from early on and continues today.on two occasions at night the entire headlights shut off and i can only assume it is related to the burned internal sockets as well

Intermittent problems with headlights going off and on (cycling through the options) when using turn signal.very distracting when driving at night, you try to make a turn, engage the turn signal and the headlights go off and back on, and off again and on again...

Headlights turn off an on when in auto mode, while driving

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact experienced a loss of steering and brake functionality. Various warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to move the vehicle to the side of the road with an excessive amount of effort. The vehicle operated normally after it was restarted. Stevens creek hyundai (4425 stevens creek blvd, santa clara, ca) diagnosed that a rodent had eaten the wiring in the vehicle and it would need to be replaced. The contact stated that this was the second occurrence of the same failure. Upon research, the contact found that the vehicle used soy coated wiring. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,837.

The check engine light come on for no reason. The car locked me out while running and both key fabs wouldn't unlock it from the outside. The smart trunk doesn't work. When you lock the doors, the driver's side won't lock.

My vehicle showed solid check engine light while i was on 101 freeway and after exiting to city road i could park and read the error code "p0880 power input to tcm", i reported the issue to hyundai dealer and they diagnosed the issue as internal tcm defect. Dealer replaced the tcm but that couldn't fix the problem. And they just released the car as is. After a short while my car had become unable to reverse, and when set the gear to reverse, my car moves forward to make a very life threatening. I called hyundaicorporate office but they didn't help. Now, i cannot drive my car because it is unsafe and because because i'm not a mechanic to diagnose the problem while the dealer and the corporate don't help. I found out that the model of my car is a subject to recall for gear problem which is exactly what i face now. It seems that both of the dealer and the corporate office are aware of the issue in this particular model but they did not even mentioned it to me until i found it by myself. A car like that is unsafe for me to drive because it runs forward only even when the gear is reverse and if stops i cannot even push it backwards.a car with this defect is dangerous for my community. Please help to force that company either replace the car for me, repurchase or repair it to full operational status..

1.engine will not shut off when vehicle in park.had to disconnect battery. There was no warning. 2. Lkas warning light remains on. 3. Caution light remains on on the dash. 4. Anti-braking system highlights when immediate car in front of me makes a turn without me being close to it.the first thing the dealer asks is do i have extended warranty! they stated they couldn't get to the repair until maybe thursday.i'm really afraid to drive my car.

During start-up while stationary, car randomly experienced a full loss of electrical power rendering the whole car inoperable and requiring a tow truck. Upon tow truck arriving at destination, car was running. Highly unsafe.occurred on 7/2/2018 and 7/19/2018 to date.

Nhtsa campaign number 16v575000 - my hyundai is experiencing the exact same symptoms that is portrayed in the campaign number i have listed. I have taken it to a hyundai dealership multiple times and have been told that they are unaware of what the issue is or have "attempted" to fix the issue yet it still occurs. Now, because i have just surpassed my warranty, the hyundai dealership is making me pay for all diagnostics and fixes. My vin, however, does not show that this was a part of this recall. All of my warning indicators illuminate. My steering becomes tight. My backup camera will not work. And my speedometer and tachometer will glitch and not accurately display my speed or rpms. All indicators inside the lcd screen will show me that i have a malfunction. This includes my passenger seat belt, my lane keep assistance, my autonomous emergency braking, my tire pressure, my engine light, as well as my blinkers not properly illuminating or making any sound when turned on. This will occur from time to time and is not always constant. It will also occur at random, whether i am driving, stationary, or if i have just turned my car on for the first time of the day. I have videos and pictures of these events occurring.

The power trunk hatch malfunctions, opening the trunk either partially or completely. Unfortunately it does not close completely unless using the trunk button inside the vehicle. One incident, the trunk attempted to close without warning or notice. No button was activated to close at the time. The trunk would open when the vehicle was stationary, in motion on the roadway, and when the vehicle was powered off. All were isolated instances.it is unknown what may be causing the malfunction, however has progressively became worst from the onset. I was able to utilize the "valet trunk lockout feature" for now, deactivating the trunk functions. I'm scheduled to meet with thehyundai dealership for an inspection of the vehicle soon. I've also contacted the manufacturer regarding this issue.

Please disregard and delete this voq.i am testing the system for a client to see what if any changes have been made in the last few years.

The auto dimming feature on this vehicle could be a nice feature if it works properly as it would help blinding drivers on the opposite direction while keepingme safe as well. Here is the problem.while traveling on highway 93 from las vegas to phoenix az the high bean engaged due to very dark road condition. However the back red light of a vehicle one mile away causes the high bean to disengaged leaving me in the dark again.what is even worse is that a vehicle coming on the other side of the road (not on the same road i am driving on) i mean the other contrary side.whenever, it sense any light at any distance visible to the naked eye,it will also disengage the high bean.this is totally unnecessary as the transit going on the other direction is not affected due to the large median between the 2 roads.my experience is on the route 93 so far las vegas to phoenix. This can simply be fixed by providing proper illumination while on low bean mode or regular condition at night time as they have done on the 2016 model. On feb 20, 2016 around 8:30pm while driving on highway 93 from las vegas to phoenix az i lost front headlight illumination two times as i was trying to manually switch the low bean to high bean after the high bean had engaged due to the darkness and lack of enough illumination; then it disengaged after sensing either the rear read light of a vehicle one mile in front of me leaving me in the dark again.the other example is whenanother vehicle one mile away coming on the opposite direction but on the other side of the road and far away from my side due to the large median between road sides. Forcing me to stop and ending off the road and miraculously not going down the cliff. My family and my life is as important as the family of the incoming traffic drivers.thank you,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle seized as the battery, service key, temptuer control warning light illuminated. An abnormal odor appeared.the contact managed to coast the vehicle to the shoulder, turn the vehicle off and on which failed to start. The vehicle was towed to five star hyundai of macon 3010 riverside dr, macon, ga 31210 (478) 345-8927 however it was unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle was test drove after the technician restarted the vehicle; still unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred intermediately. The vehicle was towed twice to the dealer. The vehicle had been seen at the dealer over 10 times. The contact feels unsafe driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Nhtsa campaign number: 16v575000(electrical system) was mentioned as a possible solution to the failure however the vin was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

My headlights flicker off and on randomly while sitting still and driving, it shows on my instrument panel switching from auto mode and off randomly i looked up the problem on a couple forums and hundreds of people have had this problem please make this a recall before some hits a child or a car in the street cause the dealerships are not trying to work on it some people said by replacing the turn signal handle it fixed the problem but it needs to be a recall fix not a owner fix if this many people are having a problem ( i found as video on youtube which is the exact problem every one is having https://youtu.be/wyamrudmtqg)

Rear driver side tail light and turn signal works intermittently. Moisture was accumulated in tail light housing. Hyundai dealers are aware of defect but have taken no corrective actions.

Vehicle stalled as i was driving about 25 mph. All systems failed. It could not be started again and had to be towed. There was no previous indication of any mechanical/electrical problem.

The vehicle briefly shut down on its own for no apparent reason while in motion at rate of 25mph at nighttime, the vehicle turned back on a second later as if nothing happened. The cause of the shut down is unknown and could have caused an accident had i not been on an empty road. While the vehicle was off, ihad no control over power steering or accelerating, the entire vehicle became unresponsive with the both the entire instrument panel and exterior lights off.

Blind spot warning system is not operating. After having it checked and fixed, the warning is back after threw days. Looks like this is a well known issue that hyundai does not want to repair or make better. After driving from a road trip on the interstate/highway, once i arrived to my destination, the bsd warning was displayed. No damage, and no collision.

Daytime running lights(drl) and front turn signal bulbs burn out very frequently due to the fact they are the same filament in the bulb even though they require a dual filament bulb. The wiring harnesses also show significant signs of overheating. This is a very widely-known issue in the online forums for this car and is a completely unsafe issue.the drivers side bulb is easy to replace, but the passenger side is not.i have replaced the drivers side 3 times and the passenger side 2 times in the last year.between bulbs and mechanic fees for the passenger side, i have spent $200-$300 in the last year maintain this unsafe problem.

This car loses control on ice covered roads, and has happened numerous times. The car appears to be over correcting when roads are ice covered. The rearend of the car begins to slip from side-to-side beginning at speeds of around 40/45 mph. The problem is, it does not happen all the time. It is like there is something wrong with a stability module or something. Dealer say there is nothing they can do unless they can recreate the problem. A very scary situation when it occurs.

The car cut off on my twice different days while i was driving on one of the freeway once while turning into my drivingway3rd i tried to start my car this morningstarted less than a mili second and would not turned back on

I bought genesis at march 24, 2015, and i am not owner right now because i sold that car. When i bought car, there were noise at engine at new car. After checking the car, hyundai engineersaid " short block problem". It is exactly same problem of sonata (theta 2 engine). I think genesis engine(rhamda 3.8) also have problem. I will attach related paper. Thank you.

This is an ongoing safety issue that i've tried to get the dealership to address.from a stop or slow idle, the engine exhibits acceleration hesitation.this hesitation lasts up to 2 seconds and when trying to merge into traffic has nearly resulted in accidents numerous times.i believe a hyundai whistle-blower came forward recently to expose this ongoing issue but hyundai has yet to address it.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that there was an abnormal noise progressing near the engine. An appointment was scheduled with the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 268.

The check engine light come on for no reason. The car locked me out while running and both key fabs wouldn't unlock it from the outside. The smart trunk doesn't work. When you lock the doors, the driver's side won't lock.

Vehicle stalled as i was driving about 25 mph. All systems failed. It could not be started again and had to be towed. There was no previous indication of any mechanical/electrical problem.

After accelerating from a stop light behind another vehicle, there was a loud cracking noise heard from behind the dash board and the car suddenly and violently accelerated without warning with a loud "boom" in the back as though someone had hit me from behind, but no one had hit me. I had to brake hard to avoid hitting the car in from of me. When the car violently accelerated the back of the car dipped down (and the front up). I immediately called the dealer and reported this and the car is now in the repair shop. There are no error codes in the gds system for this incident and they are unable to reproduce. This was a very frightening experience and my trust level is now 0/100.

The car shut off suddenly and came to abrupt stop while in motion on the street driving in a straight line

Vehicle would not shift up to the next gear and and started attempting to shift but failing every time as it passed 2000 rpms. Incident happened while passing another vehicle, after an extended time of vehicle not being able to accelerate while attempting to pass the brakes had to be applied in order to avoid a collision with an incoming vehicle. The vehicle later failed completely and all power from the engine was lost and started rapidly decelerating then finally came to a complete stop. Instrument and electric power was still on but there was no power from the engine. Vehicle would not move for about 15 minutes, then it finally had limited power to 45mph

1.engine will not shut off when vehicle in park.had to disconnect battery. There was no warning. 2. Lkas warning light remains on. 3. Caution light remains on on the dash. 4. The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled while several unknown warning lights on the instrumental panel illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to advantage hyundai located at (440 plainview rd, hicksville, ny 11801) where the failure was undetermined and the dealer informed that the failure may be due to fuel system. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to advantage hyundai440 plainview rd, hicksville, ny 11801, where the failure was still undetermined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

I was driving northbound on i-295 in washington, dc when my check engine light illuminated and the car began to slow down in extremely heavy traffic and i lost the ability to accelerate. I attempted to accelerate in order to get my vehicle off the busy highway and to a safer location, but i was not able to go more than a few meters. It was fortunate that i was not seriously hurt or killed. This is clearly a serious safety issue and i am surprised that there has not been a recall to fix this problem, especially considering that it appears to be something that has been happening to many hyundai vehicles for some time now. After more than one (1) hour, i was rescued by a towing company that left my car at the dealership. The dealership has discovered that i require at least a throttle body assembly to repair the issue and has ordered the parts which means that i am renting a car until the repairs are made (the part will take several days to be delivered). After the throttle body assembly is installed, the dealership will rescan to see if that eliminates some of the other codes that were discovered.

The car engine will spontaneously stop while the car is in motion.this causes me to lose all power steering, brakes stability control etc.this has happened on city street while the car was in motion.the car was moving forward in a relatively straight line.it has been "fixed" but not fixed.it is at the dealer for the 2nd "fix".the 1st "fix"was10/12/15.the 2nd"fix" began 10/27/15& is still underway. The consumer stated a diagnostic report found 32 codes. The consumer was provided a loaner vehicle. Updated 10/25/2017

While driving at night or during day, multifunction switch that controls headlamps will, without interaction, flip the lights from auto to off. This leads to either the drls blinking like i have an emergency, or the headlamps turning off while i'm driving down an unlit highway at highway speeds. It's extremely dangerous and needs a recall...not a warranty extension. Particularly when the servicing dealers refuse to replace under said warranty because "they cannot replicate the issue".

I've had to replace the turn signal bulbs several times (3 times so far).the 2015 model uses one light to function as both the daytime running light and also as the turn signal.it looks to me like they overheat and it was probably a bad design in my opinion.i feel like hyundai needs to strongly consider a recall to rectify this ongoing problem.i don't ever remember having to replace a turn signal on any of the vehicles i've ever owned and it seems this will be an ongoing problem.it creates a bit of a safety issue too - being without a front turn signal when this happens. I put march 16 below as that was the most recent occurrence.

Multi-function headlight switch (control stalk) is defective and causes low-beam headlights to flash intermittently or turn off for a short period time (3-5 seconds) when using turn signal (right or left).this event occurs while car is moving, speed does not matter.headlight flashing occurs at all speeds.

When my headlights are in the "auto" position and i engage my turn signals my headlights will flicker and the lcd screen on my dash switches between "auto" and "drl off" which causes my lights to turn off for a couple seconds.this usually happens when i'm in motion and when the turning stalk is engaged, either fully or semi, or even sometimes when i just push up against the stalk without actually engaging the turn signal.this does not happen ever time, but it has happened on multiple occasions.

The headlights, whether in auto-mode or on-mode, will randomly turn off by themselves for a couple seconds, then cycle quickly back on and off, before turning back on after a few seconds. Within a 30min drive this typically will happen at least once. It is speed independent; it will occur at highway speeds, during rest at a stop light, driving through a parking lot, through dark twisting forest roads, etc., etc. Sometimes, although not always, operating the turn signal will initiate the issue. As documented by video, when in auto-mode and the situation occurs, the "light-mode" dash display will quickly alternate between off and auto as the lights themselves cycle off and on. It is extremely dangerous for a driver and also surrounding vehicles, as all exterior lighting is lost and the vehicle goes dark.

At night when head lights are on and blinker is used, when the blinker is put on or when the turn is completed and the blinker goes off, the headlights go off for 3-5 seconds. This has also happened when blinker is not used while driving all headlights went off for 3-5 seconds. It is more prevalent when blinker is used. It happened twice on my commute to work this morning. I put todays date on this complaint, but it has happened multiple times.

The left and right front turn signals lamps burnt out at the same time, i then replaced both bulbs and they blew out again. On the third attempt only the left front lamp worked properly where as the side was still inoperable. I took the car to the dealer and they repaced the plug that the but bulb was attached to now i'm just waited to see if any other issues occur.

Passenger side front signal light keeps going out.has replaced7 times since owning this car.

While headlamp switch is in auto position the headlights will randomly blink out or cycle through the lighting options after using the turn indicator.most recently while our daughter was driving it cycled from auto --> driving lights-->on-->off 3 times within a block after signaling and making a left turn on a city street.very disorienting and clearly a safety issue, particularly in rural areas where street lighting is minimal.issue is impossible to duplicate due to its randomness so the dealer assumes there is no problem.they have stopped issuing paperwork on our visits for the problem so there is no recent paper trail.i believe there is a short in the turn signal level or turn signal module as the issue always occurs after the turn signal is used.

Combination daytime running light/turn indicator/signal frequent failure/burnout

Headlights suddenly turn off.intermittent defects i now refuse to drive this car at night. This defect happens while driving, in the highway or on a city street. The vehicle has been brought to the dealer 2x; will be brought again.

Combination day light running/turn signal - burn out and fail frequently.have replaced 4 times in the last 18 months. Bulb socket shows signs of overheating - browning. Passenger side replacement difficult and had to take in for service.this is the same issue as reported in the following complaints.nhtsa id numbers: 11269951, 11252633, 11204166, 11139934, 11033859, & 11020469need the manufacturer to put out a bulletin to fix the problem.

Headlights flicker while cycling through options on dashboard controls, typically ending on the off selection. Occurs after using the turn signal.

1. In a stationary position both incidents the left and right passenger doorhandles while opening the doors on different times once in 2019 the other 2020 completely came off. The first issue i went toservice department at norm reeves hyundai in california off of the 605 freeway where they glue it back together and not opening the inside of the door to remove the broken pieces that fell inside the door which you can hear each time i close the door for the right side back passenger door.second issues the left side back passenger door handle came apart the same way trying to open the door it just completely came off.i call my insurance company usaa file a claim took the vehicle to caliber collision hear in kyle, texasand they glued back on no pieces broke off inside the door.now i have a problem with the right side headlight bulb that keeps going out while im driving. I took it to south point hyundai july 6,, 2020 for this issue. According to the service report they identified the bulb needed to be replaced and replaced it. I told them the bulb is not the problem, they needed to find out whats causing it to go out. On july 7, 2020 bulb went out again retuned back to south point hyundai all they did was opened the hood the service guy giggled something on the right side headlight and it came on, i told him thats is so unprofessional and should not have happened just to get my headlight to work. On september 7, 2020 bulb went out again call september 8, 2020 the service manager told me to bring the car in after i explained what happened for the second time after ive been charged for the service that did not fix the problem.once i reached south point hyundai the service manager john wayne drive my vehicle around the back drove back after 30 minutes and told me its going to cost me $130. Not including labor to fix the problem. I just left very upset.

The headlight mode will sometimes change from auto to off and back to auto while driving (on city streets or on the highway), without input from the driver. This causes the headlights, taillights, and interior lights to momentarily switch off. I feel like this may be due to a loose electrical connection in the headlight mode on the left multifunction stalk, as the auto and off modes are adjacent to each other.

My headlights turn off (completely) on occasion when i touch the blinker signal stalk.they then flicker and cycle.here is video of the exact issue - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyamrudmtqg.it happened on the pa turnpike while i was going 70 mph.this is a major issue with many similar reports for the hyundai genesis.this has happened about 5 times over 3 years to me.

Headlights will go out without warning. This has now happened on 6 different occasions, 5 of which i was traveling on rural roads with no streetlights.during the day, the light diagram box which shows if your lights are in automatic, drl or manual mode cycles through. In addition, i am constantly replacing turn signal bulbs. This is a safety issue as it is extremely dangerous. I have contacted hyundai over 60 times and they have expressed no interest in repairing the problem. They know that it is the multi function switch causing the issue. This has been acknowledged via the dealership's conversation with hyundai. It's important to report this if your vehicle is affected, to highlight the frequency of this defect.

Poor illumination at night without using the brights.unable to see a safe distance in front of you.

When the light switch in pushed forward to low beam, switch turns and turn off all the lights. Very dangerous when driving. Handle is not round, what makes causing the problem.

Right daytime running light/turn signal replaced twice within 6 months. Both times was working when vehicle was parked, stopped working next time vehicle was driven. Both times, the car had been driven on both city streets and highways before being parked overnight.

While driving at night on a dark road in sport mode, all interior and exterior lights began to flash then went totally out after a few seconds they came back on.

The front turn indicator bulbs blow out frequently, creating a significant safety issue.this is because the manufacturer combined the drl and turn indicator functions into the same bulb, using one filament of a 2357 for both functions.it is also not possible to replace the bulbs with a longer-life alternative, such as a led replacement, since the car refuses to recognize the led bulbs.therefore, many genesis owners end up replacing these bulbs as often as monthly, or even bi-weekly.the failures of these indicator bulbs are unpredictable, and the problem should never have happened, since the identical car in canada uses the existing "eyebrow" lights for drl and therefore the 2357 front bulbs are not susceptible to frequent unpredictable failure.

Vehicle stalled as i was driving about 25 mph. All systems failed. It could not be started again and had to be towed. There was no previous indication of any mechanical/electrical problem.

From a stop position and begin to turn right the car hesitates.

The car shut off suddenly and came to abrupt stop while in motion on the street driving in a straight line

While in park my car shifts in reverse, the gear does not visibly go in the reverse position but the car starts rolling in reverse.you can feel this happen.also while at a stop light i felt the car jerk i had my foot on break.also can smell moisture even when windows are closed.

While gradually accelerating from 20 through 40 miles an hour, the engine will rev to approximately 6000 rpm. During that hi rev, the car will not increase in speed (like it's in neutral) then after approximately 5 seconds, there is a loud bang noise in the car lurches forward and rapidly accelerates. It feels as if i were hit in the back by another car. This has happened twice in the 1 1/2 years that i have owned the car. Since it is a very intermittent and unpredictable problem. Even though i've brought the car into the dealer twice, they've been unable to find any defect. This is clearly a safety defect. I think, likely secondary to some transmission issue. The dealer and factory say there's nothing else they can do. Unless they have personally experienced the problem they will not do anything. I explained to them that even if they took the car on a six-month test drive, it might not happen at all. When it does happen, however, it is terrifying and dangerous.

I was driving and car shut off engine itself and get unresponsive in traffic. I push brake and put car in parking then i push start bottom and continue driving. The car is just 11264. I want to know if hyundai is going to recall this car because a friend of mine have same car and happen same thing.

Sitting from idle, giving it gas the car bogs down, hestiates before taking off.when it does move it's sudden and surprisesyou my the movement

The transmisson continued racing withoutany footon the gas pedalbrakefully appliedgearshift in neutral stationary in my garage

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While driving and making a turn, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was turned off and restarted, but the failure recurred. In addition, when the vehicle was shifted into drive, the instrument panel display reversed and the vehicle moved backwards instead of forward. The vehicle was towed to napleton hyundai glenview (located at 1620 waukegan rd, glenview, il 60025, (847) 729-8900) to be diagnosed, but a failure code could not be located. The dealer suggested that the gear shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 15620163. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

Same issue as many others. Driving at a medium speed & all of a sudden the rpm's race up & when the transmission shifts in it bangs violently like either someone hit you or you hit a really deep pothole.whenever i take it in for maintenance i ask them if they've heard anything about the issue & it's always no. And since we can't reproduce the issue on the fly there's nothing to look at. If hyundai doesn't come up with an answer soon i'm going to dump it, it's potentially dangerous when it leaps forward.

Vehicle will shift harshly/jerk at low speeds (most common after accelerating from a stop as well as in stop and go traffic). Vehicle takes longer to change gears (rpms hang then drop). Down-shifting seems to be an issue as well; delayed down-shift as the vehicle is coming to a stop . Behavior started around 75,000 miles. Transmission also acts as if it is slipping and then suddenly engages, just as if it was in neutral momentarily and then dropped into gear. I would characterize this unpredictable lurching behavior (a result of the harsh up- and down-shifts) as a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While the vehicle was parked, the shifter failed to move out of gear. Also, when switching gears, all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v097000 (electrical system, power train, exterior lighting), but the repair did not correct the failures. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 11669773. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled, with the accelerator pedal depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

The car cut off on my twice different days while i was driving on one of the freeway once while turning into my drivingway3rd i tried to start my car this morningstarted less than a mili second and would not turned back on

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while operating the vehicle and lightly depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would abruptly stop. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

I owned the car for 9 months and never had a problem in the rain. It was raining and my car safety lights started flashing telling me that front collision warning was not working, lane departure warning was not working, blind spot detection was not working. And to check aeb system. Hyundai told me that although it worked fine for 9 months, that the safety features may not work in the rain

This issue has started with my car stalling out in a parking lot sitting idle. The car just turned off. I restarted the car and it turned off again. After this happened i have noticed turningmy car on its slow - like the battery is dieing. I went to hyundai to get a diagostic test and nothing came up and they could not duplicate the car turning over slowly.since then my car is still slow to start - "sometimes" . Now, i can go out and if i have to make several stops - it is garanteed to start slow and get stuck with the auto brake on - which you can not release. I have a picture of the dashboard and a video of what happens when i drive - no rpm. This is causing me not to drive this car - i use to be a very happy hyundai genesis owner.

This is a public announcement!!! i have a 2015 hyundai genesis with only 63k miles on it. The rear brake lines busted without warning and hyundai refuses to cover repair under warranty or notify consumers that the brake lines can fail without warning!! this to me is a major safety issue! thank god i was not on the highway! they're telling me its due to corrosion and the warranty is 5 years 60k miles! are you kidding me...im at 63k miles! also, will cost me 4k because the whole rear end needs to be disassembled to replace both brake lines!!! this is disgusting! be warned! i will take this to the public news![xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Rear brake lines stabilizer bar is rubbing against the brake hoses creating a hole in lines serious problems

On 31 jan 2019-ice and snow collect in a pocket under the engine. Freezing the electronic control module for the electronic steering. The "electronic steering light " came on, resulting in no steering function at all. Auto had to be towed to the dealer.lucky for me i was in a parking lot. If i had been driving it would have been catastrophic. As i was picking up my auto, another one came in on a flatbed with the exact same issue.

Since last october, the car's steering has periodically failed to return to center, after taking a right handed curve. The car just keeps turning. We have taken the car back to the dealership where we leased it; however, they have repeatedly failed to fix it. I have looked the problem up on the internet and found that it is definitely a safety problem that must be fixed. Why not fix the problem before peple get hurt?

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While driving and making a turn, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was turned off and restarted, but the failure recurred. Lane keep assist freezes up steering wheel while driving making it hard to steer.

A/c, heater vents located on the bottom (foot) for driver and front passenger are always stay open irregardless what you select. Dealer looked twice, no help. Said that's how all the cars are. I have myself checked the brand new 2017 genesis parker on the lot and it had the same problem. Your feet will freeze and there is no way to block or close the bottom vents.also, the haptic steering wheel warning came on at around 5k miles, dealer looked at it order some parts to replace the sensor etc.

After having all three work done on my car: four wheel replaced as stated on their campaign , cowl and electrical wiringreplacement under , the vibration on the steering wheel becomes evident/stronger at lower speed(below 25 mph)and at idle. When driving i feel my hands feel tired because of this vibration affecting them. I went back to the dealership at hyundai long island, queens for the problem but after waiting for hours, i was told thatthey cannot do anything about the problem . And until now, the vibration is becoming an annoyance.

While driving at about 25 mph, the power steering froze up on me.(fortunately), i was not driving fast, or on a bridge, freeway, etc. And was able to return to a safe location. I called a tow truck. Towed to local hyundai dealer. After 20 days in shop, they replaced steering computer, rack and pinion steering too.i am appalled that a new (expensive) 2015 genesis with very low mileage, has had this problem.i am now very hesitant about the quality of the hyundai brand.i hope no one else has had this problem, because it is a real headache!!!

When driving during heavy rain on the expressway the car begins to fishtail out of control.it forces the driver to drop their expressway speed to about 45 miles per hour.all the other traffic continues to pass by safely at speeds of 60 to 65 or more.this is a definite safety issue.when it began, i was nearly rear-ended by a semi when i was force to drive slowly in the right lane at only 40 to 45 in a 70 mph zone.if i dared to even try to go any faster the car would begin fishtailing.none of the other traffic had any issue going faster, and i never experienced this in the 2013 genesis i had previously.i have read of similar complaints and have been told that the car is reacting to its front sensor being 'blinded'.this is definitely a design flaw, and there does not appear to be any way to disable or inform the censor to ignore the present situation.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that while driving 25-55 mph, on several occasions the steering wheel ceased with the power steering assist warning light flashing. The vehicle was taken to dennis hyundai east (2900 morse rd, columbus, oh 43231, (614) 471-2900) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Steering wheel holds in position during turns and require opposition force to release it. Researched this online and found other people having the same issue and may require a new steering rack.

While driving at 60 mph, speedometer, odometer, turn signals, power steering assist and other accessories stopped functioning.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while driving the vehicle in cold weather, the vehicle loss power steering assist and became difficult to steer. The contact stated the power steering assist warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

My wife and i just recently purchased 2 2015 hyundai genesis coupe 3.8 auto. This is a 3 month old car with 2700 miles. I took in once for squeak in rear area, they said could not hear it. I advised i would take tech out so he could hear it. They said they were to busy. Took back a second time, they said they could hear it, tightened everything in rear area abut could not find problem that may have broken weld!! they could not give me a loaner. After sitting my car across from their service center with a sign saying do not use this dealership that my car is still broken they gave me a loaner. That was last tuesday. The service center (long hyundai chattanooga, tn) said car was at body shop to fix a broken weld that there is a new technical service bulletin about this. This is a brand new 28k car with broken welds?? this seems very dangerous. We are waiting to see if car is fixed before contacting attorney. I have seen post going back to 2010 about broken welds on these genesis coupes. This seems to be a problem that is not being fixed. The broken welds could be dangerous if in a accident.

Defective panoramic sunroof. Has failed to be repaired and constantly creeks and pops as if it is going to fly off roof. Hyundai corporate repaired the car earlier this year and replaced the roof, but it is worse now than it was prior to the repair. The roof makes noises at any speed.

Received a letter stating that the glass in front of sunroof could crack and shatter. That is exactly what has happen, it start with cracks at the corners, then along the bottom and top and now the rubber that holds it, broke off.

Panoramic sun roof binding on closing.at times it will retract as if there is an obstruction.there is also a creaking noise while the vehicle is in motion

The rear passenger door will not open from inside or from outside of the vehicle. The door lock mechanism has failed internally while the door was shut. This causes a safety issue as passengers are not able to exit the vehicle in an emergency event. Worse, a child car seat is not able to be accessed as the door will not open. There are not warning lights in the vehicle to alert you that the door lock/handle mechanism has failed. Hyundai/genesis will not repair the defective components under warranty, as they consider it a wear item. As the door will not open it is extremely difficult to repair this issue. The door panel has to be cut off which renders it destroyed. The door lock/latch mechanism has failed at 60000 miles and with a vehicle that is 6 years old. This is a huge safety issue as people will become trapped in a crash, which can lead to injury and loss of life.

While driving at about 75mph on massachusetts turnpike near palmer, ma at approx. 4:30pm on march 8, 2017 the sunroof exploded. There was no warning and no sound prior to explosion of anything hitting the glass. I pulled to the side of the road and called haddad hyundai in pittsfield, ma to report problem and arrange for repair. No injuries.

While driving on expressway at normal highway speed we heard a very loud noise, and a few seconds later the head liner of the car started to flap due to wind interference. We soon realized that our sunroof was broken. Glass shards were mostly held back by headliner. However, some glass shards fell into passenger compartment. We were not injured. We stopped and saw that the remaining glass pointed upwards, and that the sunroof window frame did not seem to be bent.these detailsseems to indicate an explosion of the glass instead of a hit from a foreign object.

Lot of noise on front of sunroof (rattle).

Front right door (drivers door) does not close properly. When you pull it closed from the inside, or push it from outside the vehicle, it soundslike it has closed but upon inspection you find it is only closed to the first latch. Many times i have been driving down the road and had an alarm come on telling me the door was not closed.

Vehicle rear driver-side door will not open from inside or outside when handles are pulled. Leaves left rear seat inaccessible and unable to quickly egress the vehicle in case of accident, fire etc.

I took my car to dealer due to excessive noise in front of car when driving. I thought it was a wheel bearing noise.deal,er says noise is due to tire wear.car only has 40,700 miles and there was a recall at around 12,000 miles when hyundai replaced all four tires with michelin tires "due to complaints of excessive road noise".my car has been regularly serviced at hyundai dealers.i told the dealer that it was impossible for michelin tires to wear out in less than 28,000 miles.i believe the car has a suspension design problem.the dealer refused to do anything about it.i called the hyundai factory line(dealer gave me phone number).factory rep told me i would be contacted within a week by factory regional manager.i have not been contacted yet.i believe the car has a suspension geometry or design problem in the front end of car.no new car with less than 28,000 miles should wear out a set of tires unless something is wrong with the design or geometry.the fact that hyundai recalled the car when new (only 12,000 miles) to replace the tires tells me they know something is wrong.

The front end of the vehicle is unstable due to constant vibration which is felt in the front drivers seat and steering wheel.the vibration causes the tires on the front end to wear prematurely, which could lead to blowouts.

Hyundai is telling me the problem with tire tread wear is a problem with the tire manufacturer. The tire manufacturer is telling me the problem is with a design of the 2015 genesis sedans suspension. Inside rear tire wear is extreme, and had i not complained about vibration and cabin sound, ultimately seeking professional help in seeing the wear at a tire company, we might have very easily lost our lives. Look at 2015 hyundai genesis blowouts / saudi arabia. Many, many posts on-line about this tire wear happening here in the u.s. Our michelin tires are warranted to 45 k miles, we were advised by our cars dealer (hyundai of evansville) to replace and align the 4 wheels, at a large cost, this is at 22,914 miles ! raben tire, a michelin dealer, here in evansville tells me the car may very well have a suspension-alignment problem. It will cost us over $1000.00 to be safe for a while with tire replacement and alignment. Hyundai will not even give us the satisfaction of a return call. It is a blatant case of 'david vs goliath' ! extreme cabin sound @ 45 to 50 mph, as well as seat and steering wheel vibration while in motion, up through highway speeds.

Simply put, my hyundai genesis is extremely susceptible to total and sudden tire failure. I have had the car for about 7 months and have had 6 tires blowout, even without hitting any potholes. The last time this happened, i had a tire side wall blowout as i left my driveway ,driving at a slow speed. I had it changed the next morning and within hours, another tire blew while i was driving at about 60 mile per hour on the nj garden state parkway, without hitting any roadimperfections or potholes at all. It seems that the low profile tires are simply not up to simple , normal day to day driving. I am aware that many other genesis and equus owners have suffered the same, many times over, yet hyundai refuses to recognize the problem, blaming the tire manufacturers, even though this happened to me with 3 different brands and even to tires designed to run flat! i don't need to elaborate on the hazard created by tiers that blow out all the time especially when driving at highway speeds on congested roadways. I was lucky that i managed to avoid getting hit on the last incident by the hundred of cars passing by at over 60 miles per hour.

2015 hyundai genesis. Consumer writes in regards to premature tire failure. *ldthe consumer stated the tires were worn out at 19,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated that the recall associated with nhtsa campaign number: 15v864000 (tires) required the dealer to reprogram the tire limiter. The tire limiter would need to be reprogrammed in order to replace the factory tires; however, the repair would reduce the speed from 149 mph to 130 mph. The contact was displeased with the reduction of the speed limiter requirement, which was not mentioned as a part of the recall remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Updated 04/11/16

Back up camera. I have replaced the back up camera 3x and it is still messing up. No longer under warranty, when it was like i said it was replaced 3x. The back up camera acts up when put in reverse, it shows a blue screen at times other times it glitches and shows black and white, etc.

While in park my car shifts in reverse, the gear does not visibly go in the reverse position but the car starts rolling in reverse.you can feel this happen.also while at a stop light i felt the car jerk i had my foot on break.also can smell moisture even when windows are closed.

Water leaking into rear seat flooring area.it is not part of the recalled cars, but has identical problems with significant water leaking into the car.

There is an electrical issue that could malfunction internally and cause an electrical short, potentially resulting in an engine compartment fire.the front bulb for the daylight running lamps/ lane changing blinker has been consistentlystopped working and/or blown out.the dealer where i purchased the vehicle has worked on the vehicle a minimum of six times, changing the electrical harnesses(among other things) with no success.when looking up this issue on the internet, other owners have reported this problem with the 2015 model and older hyundai genesis. Hyundai did changed the daylight running lights in 2016.on a few occasions (3 times), the headlights turned off at night which may or may not be related. I have another appointment in ten days to address the situation once again.

The auto light position turns from automatic to fully off when driving randomly. This is a big safety hazard as you lose function of headlights temporarily.

Parked in parking lot on slight uphill incline.took phone call as i stopped and forgot to put in park.after call ended, hit "off" button which is hidden behind steering wheel. Thought motor was "off" but really only on "acc".opened door & started to get out. Car started to roll backwards.able to get back in and put foot on brake.car rolled about 10 yards before i stopped it.happily, nothing was behind the car.the open door could have hit me and swept me under car but i was able to avoid it as i got back in.no harm to me or car but dangerous situation.reported to hyundai & they said there was no fix other than to be sure car is in park before turning it off.with older cars with a key, could not take key out of ignition unless car was in park.but with key fob and push button ignition, that "fail safe" is no longer available.

2015 genesis 11 months old with 6,100 miles. The sunroof weather seal is defective and separating from the glass. Dealer and factory acknowledge the defect ($3,500 cost to repair) but refused to buy back the car. This is my 4th genesis: the 2nd and 3rd cars were defective, the 1st was sold to me without features i wanted and was told were in the car i first bought. My issue with this defect is the repair process is something field technicians could not accomplish on the 3rd genesis which involved removal of most interior trim above the dash level and headliner. Several attempts at repair/reassembly were undertaken and then wa state lemon laws kicked in. The intended repair to my current and 4th genesis will be a further disassembly of the upper portion of the interior trim of the vehicle and of course removal of the fixed glass portion and replacement of the defective weather seal. The dealer, doug's hyundai, have been just great and they have expressed their concern that this repair is likely to fail to return the car to me in "factory condition" due to the nature of the repair. My past experience with the 3rd genesis tells me they are right. While this is not a safety concern per se, water intruding into a vehicle could and likely will impact electrical systems and control modules. Case in point was the recall involving water penetration into the rear tail lamps that impacted the cars transmission functions. I feel screwed by hyundai. They are making me undergo a repair that will result in a depreciated value. Can anyone who reads this help me?

A/c, heater vents located on the bottom (foot) for driver and front passenger are always stay open irregardless what you select. Dealer looked twice, no help. Said that's how all the cars are. I have myself checked the brand new 2017 genesis parker on the lot and it had the same problem. Your feet will freeze and there is no way to block or close the bottom vents.also, the haptic steering wheel warning came on at around 5k miles, dealer looked at it order some parts to replace the sensor etc.

Front inside door lock switch (driver's side) remains in the unlatched position when i attempt to lock door via lock button from inside of car or via key fob from the outside of the car. All other doors (front passenger, left rear, right rear) lock just fine. Hazard: the door may not be in the locked position and may open while the vehicle is in motion, possibly resulting in injury to the driver.

The contact owned a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while attempting to stop at a stop sign, the vehicle independently accelerated while the brake pedal was depressed. As a result, the vehicle rear-ended another vehicle. The contact stated that all of the electrical features in the vehicle failed. The air bags did deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained chest burns from the air bag and a sore back and neck from the crash. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The contact related the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 21v160000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that they would expedite the claim. The failure mileage was 61,000.

My genesis was involved in a tire recall (campaign 218). A couple days later, as soon as i got the car on the freeway to go out of town on a business trip, my car started shaking severely. I called blue link (hyundai customer service) and they said to take it to patterson hyundai at my destination. I drive to wichita falls as slowly and safel as i can and i took the car in today but they refused to fix it. They said because its related to the recall they cannot fix it. I have to wait minimum 3-5 days for them to escalate it to the national level and i can't drive my car. I have to be driving home on sunday (2 days from now). I talked to curtis (floor leader for genesis team) and said "i can't drive my car for 3-5 days?" and he said "yes." and i asked if i could get a rental then and he said they won't give me a rental. This is at best unethical. I have to be home by monday, so they are forcing me to drive a potentially unsafe car home 3.5 hours because they won't correct a problem with their warranty work.

On three occasions in the past week i lost all ability to brake. The pedal would go to the floor and the only way to stop the vehicle is to engage the electronic parking brake. On two of those occasions the car only stopped when hitting asnow/ice bank. When depressing the brake pedal, a loud air pressure release sound would emit. Had vehicle towed to dealer but they were unable to duplicate the issue so nothing was replaced. Now i have to drive the vehicle and hope i don't crash into something.

While driving down the highway at approximately 60 mph, the sun/moon roof on my vehicle shattered.i heard a loud boom and thought i had blown a tire.a few minutes later i heard air rushing and a crackling sound.i opened the sun/moon roof cover and saw the complete glass roof was shattered. As i drove down the road further, glass shards flew down the back of my vehicle onto the road behind me as well as onto the sunroof cover that i had closed after i saw the shattered roof.

While approaching a red light on a city street with oncoming traffic, brakes were applied.the car started jerking violently, and the brakes were not working.the car then lost power and then power steering.fortunately, i was able to man handle the car into a hard right and avoid an accident.this was a life threatening situation. The car was towed to jim ellis hyundai, 5785 peachtree ind. Blvd., chamblee ga for repair.the shop was unable to replicate any problem and did not fix anything related to brakes or power steering.the car was purchased back by the dealer and sent to auction to be sold.so much for the next owner.....

I have hankook 245/45r18 96w tires. As of this date 04/24/2015 i have 1508 registered miles on this car. I purchase this car in december 2015. I return to the dealer numerous times complaining about the noisy, vibrating and rough ride with these tires.i ask could replace the low profile tires with regular tires of the same size and was told the rims, braking system and possible the suspension at a great cost to me. I understand numerous complaints have been sent to the hyundai auto makers about the low profile tires hankook 245/45r18 96wventrus s1 noble 2.i will have to replace these tires at great cost to me to get a more comfortable and safer driving experience.thank you

I was driving in the road about 50mph and with the wet road. I lost the car control without any reason, even with the low speed. Looks like the break or the abs system wasnā€™t working and i got hydroplaning and an accident.

On 8/3/19 driving on academy st. In newark nj @7:50 am, at the red light on academy & washington st. My brakes failed with no warning, and i rolled thru a red light where the car stopped in the middle of the intersection. I was able back up avoiding an accident as a bus waited. All the warning lights were flashing after my brakes failed. I pulled into a parking lot a few yards away, and called genesis, which said they received an alert on the adaptive cruise control, and i asked why they were no alerts on the impending brake issues, as i had received a prior alert on another issue dealing with the fuel vapor harness. I called the dealership to drop of the car on 8/5/19. They diagnosed the issue as corrode rear brake lines, and brake hydraulics, and was be repaired under warranty( i had purchased anextended warranty from the hyundai genesis dealer at the time of purchase in 8/2019), and it appears this is the warranty covering the repairs, not the balance of hyundai's vaunted warranty., my vehicle has only 20,038 miles on it, so heavy usage is not the issue here. It appears the were bad parts on the car, and i was just lucky to have escaped a bad accident that morning. So far, the car has been at the dealership since 8/5/19, with no information as to where the repairs stand, or if the vehicle is repairable. We have two of these vehicles in the family and are concerned, and are keeping a close watch on the other.i have reason to believe there may other owners driving these cars with similar problems quite unknown to them.

I had been driving on 50 mph on la pacific coast highway and slowed down to stop at a traffic light. After i pressed my break and my car fully stopped, the vehicle started moving forward while my break was pressed fully down and as a result i hit the truck front of me from the back to look very much as my fault, while it was the vehicle's issue with the break

At times the vechicle surges forward when close to another vechicle when in cruise control. Heads lights have turn off, on, automatic, low with out any human interaction. Navagation screen went completely blank

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (dennis hyundai of doublin, 2441 billingsley road, columbus, oh 43235), but the failure could not be duplicated or diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.*lnconsumer has detailing 4 episodes which are literally life-threatening in nature. Camshaft position sensor code malfunction and plan to replace it under warrenty. Most of the similar episodes were reported to be due to a faulty throttle position switch (tps) and the recommendation was to replace it with an updated position switch. Updated 9/12/18

My car was perfectly operational but suddenly during regular driving on the 101 highwayit showed solid check engine sign. I checked the error and it read p0880i had taken my car to the hyundai dealer (keys) where they diagnosed it as tcm internal failure and recommended changing the tcmafter paying for the part and installation ($994.00 and $162.00 for diagnosis) the dealer installed the part and came back to inform me that the issue persists after part's installation and that they are going to work with the electricity to fix the problem.dealer informed me that they shall work on the circuits but not with anytransmission problem.as this issue happened with regular use, i believe it to be manufacturing issue that must be carried out and fixed by hyundai.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the contact felt that the vehicle was rear ended, and the vehicle launched forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mentioned the second time the failure occurred; the contact almost crashed into another vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer multiple times and the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

I was traveling east on i94 in minneapolis in snowy weather at about 9:30 pm on feb 7.. Temp at 16 degrees. Needed to use the windshield washers. When i turned them on there was no washer fluid but the wipers went on. My windshield became completely obscured. I had to turn on my flashers, stop traffic in that lane in heavy traffic and had a dangerous and hard time getting to the shoulder. Turns out the fluid was frozen. I used snow to clear the windshield. It has now frozen 4 times in cold temps. I have had it freeze at temps as high as 18 degrees. I returns to working condition at about 28 or 29 degrees. Hyundai in aurora illinois puts the fluid in when i get an oil change and i never put fluid in. When it works there appears to be something besides pure water in the fluid as i observe a 'sudsing' effect. During my last oil visit on feb 9 at a temp of 18 degrees, i had a hyundai employee confirm that the fluid was frozen and the washers did not provide any fluid while the wipers activated.

Panoramic roof rear panel shattered. Vehicle was slowly transitioning from driveway to road surface over slight depression. Rear sunroof panel began to make popping noises that did not stop when i stopped moving. I got out of the vehicle and when i closed the door the rear panel shattered upwards, spraying glass bits onto me and the ground. Rear panel shattering was mostly contained by shatterproof film installed on the inside after receiving notice that these glass panels are prone to spontaneous implosions. Vehicle is presently at dealer being validated for extended warranty coverage.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai genesis. While driving 25 mph in inclement weather, the windows fogged up. The contact stated that the defroster was activated, but failed to clear the windows. The contact stated that it was difficult to see out of the windows. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact previously contacted hyundai greenfield (6133 s 27th st, greenfield, wi 53221, (414) 238-2000) and informed them of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The panoramic sunroof had exploded when i was driving on expressway about 60 mph. It was a very loud noise and luckily no cars were around. We took exit and found out that part of the roof blown away and the remaining glass shattered. Luckily no injuries as sunroof's shade guardprotected us from the bits of glass. I drove slowly to the hyundai dealer where i leased the car. Even thoughthis genesis under full warranty, dealer (hyundai motors) refused to cover this under warranty. I do not understand why this happened. We have not opened the sunroof for a long time. There must be a design defect. This is really a safety concern. Auto makers should recall before people suffer serious injuries.

The current tires were replaced in september 2015, i have had three instances of tires blowing out the sidewall and a total of 7 tires replaced in less then 10k miles

In 2016i bought a 2015 hyundai genesis with continental pro contact. This was a new car with 1,565 miles on it. In less than a year i notice the side wall on the front tire had a bulge in it. The dealer would not replace the tire for free but offered a discount on another tire. I took the car in today for service and they found a bulge in the side wall of the rear tire. The first tire only had 14,466 miles i'm currently at 21,711 miles. I'm going to replace them all but think they should be recalled. Oh and when checked the dot # ,three of the tire did not have the four digit date. Only one had the whole number affe wc85 2115.

Earlier this year hyundai issued a letter to genesis owners stating they were replacing the hankook tires that came on the car from the factory with michelin tires because customers had complained of raod noise. I contacted the delaership, west broad hyundai, richmond, va, to order my replacement tires...i took my car to the dealership on aug 29 for the state inspection and an oil change, they stated they did not have staff on hand on saturdays to change the tires. During the state inspection the mechanic discovered the tread on my left rear tire had separated from the tire. The right rear tire looked as if it was about to separate. Since my tires were in they dedicated a mechanic to replacing my tires..my car was purchased new, the tires have 25515 miles on them and the car has not been modified in any manner. I fear there is a major problem with this model tire and hankook should be made aware immediately. I have photographs of the tires. The tire looks perfect from the outside wall but the wall that faces under the car the defect is very noticeable....updated 09/28/15

Today my wife was driving our genesis and was almost in a accident because of campaign138 "cracks in the sidewall". I've been complaining for the past two months with 2 superiors and 1 case manager. There has not been any resolutions or since of agency.

After 25,000 miles tire treads were separating on the inside edge of all four tires. These were original factory-installed hankook ventus noble s2 tires. Hyundai has a recall in place due to the possibility of vibration, but the recall makes no mention of safety issues or tire failure. The issue was found when dealer was rotating tires on normal schedule.

Loss of air from tires. Sidewall cracking with complete shredding of tire surface leading to emergent stop while driving on highway.

The front end of the vehicle is unstable due to constant vibration which is felt in the front drivers seat and steering wheel.the vibration causes the tires on the front end to wear prematurely, which could lead to blowouts.
