In april 14 2012 around 2am nj atco i was rear end from behind about 40mph, i was accompany by my cousin he sat on the passenger side.most of the damage was done on his side. I drive a hyundai genesis coupe 2010. His side air bag did not deployed.. I can provided pictures if needed. Is there any way can i sue the car company or the manufacture of the airbag for failure to deploy.
I was making a left hand turn onto route 25 in ridge, new york and was struck by a speeding vehicle (i would estimate at 65 mph +) on the left front quadrant.the genesis (my car) was totaled as a result. My complaint is that none of the air bags deployed.
My car went airborne when i hit a railroad crossing with a steep drop off, landed in a ditch and flipped several times end over end, landing upside down.i was airlifted to an area hospital.only 1 of the 6 airbags deployed.i lost feeling in the side of my face where my head broke the driver's side window and almost bled out.i now have seizures and was recently fired from my job due to having 2 seizures at work.i have only worked part time in the last 2 years.if the air bags had deployed, i would've walked away uninjured.i was also trapped when my hand went through the top window.i was left hanging and had to hold my face with my free hand to stop the bleeding until help arrived.if top airbags would've deployed, my hand wouldn't have been caught under the vehicle.i expected all 6 airbags to work when i bought this vehicle.the impact of the crash should've made all these airbags deploy.the vehicle was completely totaled.
Car was involved in a head on crash at approx 45 - 50 mph yet no air bags deployed.........updated 12/30/15
The contact owned a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. While driving 55 mph over a railroad track, the vehicle drove over a ditch, went airborne, and landed on the opposite side of the road. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a culvert pipe and the vehicle rolled 3-5 times. Only the front driver's air bag deployed. The overhead and side air bags did not deploy in the vehicle. The contact sustained lacerations and broken bones on the face and body that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard, but was not repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 88,000.
Driver lost control of vehicle going around curve, car turned out and slid off the road, making contact with a tree (rear of the vehicle hit the tree)
Stability control warning light would come on, car wouldn't shift out of 2nd.made 3 or 4 trips to the dealer for that to get fixed.next, with foot on brake, car in park and fob in car, the car would not start.when you hit the start button, it would just go to accessory mode.two trips to dealer for that one.waiting on a tow now for 2nd time in two months with the latest issue - while driving, car just dies and won't restart.the first time, was told it was a 'loose connection to fuel pump.'very scary!thank god i wasn't on the freeway either time this happened!
The 2010 hyundai genesis coupe has been defective for a few months now. It will abruptly shift from 3rd to 1st and from 5th to 3rd by itself. It will also not accelerate when you need it to. I was recently almost involved in accident because of the shifting issues.i have contacted hyundai several times and they refuse to assist me. What are they waiting for, me to die in accident or something?? i want something done very soon or i will get legal counsel and they can speak with them.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. After being parked for three months, the vehicle failed to start. The contact looked under the hood and found rodent excrement, food particles, and noticed that the wiring harness was chewed through. The vehicle was towed to bob baker hyundai (located at 5285 car country dr, carlsbad, ca 92008, (760) 929-4900) where it was diagnosed that the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the mechanic failed to properly diagnose the vehicle. The repair cost $1,300. The contact stated that the check engine and tire pressure monitoring system warning indicators illuminated after the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact was informed that the engine's wiring harness was soy-based. After the vehicle was repaired, it failed to operate as intended. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,773.
The vehicle brake lights stop working. The car will not start normally and will not shift normally. A fuss will fail over and over again. Hyundai dealer identified that the hecu is faulty.
I began having this issue 10 days ago with my 2010 genesis coupe. The concern i had was not only was the interior flickering but it resulted in my running night brake lights not working. I took the car to the dealer i'm at 62k miles just out of warranty. They ran diagnostic and thought it was a lose bracing for the wires. I picked it up and the issue began again. I took it in 4 days ago they then said it was a fuse switch issue and replaced it but the issue continued. They then said it may be a fuse box issue couple of hundred $$ or worst case a main issue with total wiring from internal fuse box and fuse box in the engine area which could run $2k! but no definite answer to what was causing this. The hyundai representative said they even happen to have a senior electric engineer on location that day and he couldn't pinpoint exactly the problem.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. The contact stated that while driving 80 mph, the steering seized and the engine rpms increased greatly. The contact also mentioned that the traction warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the mechanic stated that the ecu failed and the abs control module would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 78,758.
While the car is warmed up and at operating temperature, the rpms will "hang" (hover around 2500 rpms) for 3-5 seconds before returning to idle.
Since purchased used from a hyundai dealer in 2011 with just 11,123 miles & full warranty, this vehicle has had "intermittent operation of the push-button start feature, intermittent ability to remove the vehicles shifter from the park position, illumination of the esc'(electronic stability control) indicator lamp in the instrument cluster, intermittent interference with operation of the cruise control feature, or intermittent operation of the stop lamps" as cited in campaign 110 released by hyundai on march 29,2013. I have brought it to the dealers service department on 11 separate occasions, for the above listed issue -to two separate dealers- and while both utilized the hyundai warranty to the fullest extent, to replace everything from my radio, to transmission modules, to wheel cylinders, none of these issues fixed the problem.when i spoke to hyundai last week regarding recall campaign 110, i was assigned a case number, but i received a call the next day that my case was being rejected by the regional office.when i brought it to the dealer for the recall repair this weekend, they insisted that they would have to charge me for the visit, despite my complaint being the one listed in the recall.i feel that hyundai should honor their recall and address this problem in my car at their expense until they rectify the issue cited in the recall, despite the faulty part having been replaced through my factory warranty multiple times, and prior my receiving notice of the recall. Hyundai motor corporation should do what is required to get the car they sold me to be in safe operating condition, and they refuse to do so.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle lost power and restarted after one attempt. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer advised the contact that there were no recalls and a case was opened. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.
I own a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe.it has multiple problems.the transmission was replaced at 4200 miles and still experiences problems (lurching when put in gear).the paint has had to be refinished, the bluetooth radio function is intermittently broken, traction control does not work on occasion (dash illuminator light indication).i have repeatedly filed complaints with hyundai corporate regarding the traction control issue.after filing the initial complaint and following up 4 times over the course of a month, i have yet to hear back from them.the traction control turns off, and cannot be reactivated (particularly problematic when we've had so much snow).the bluetooth radio issue stems from the radio playing while the phone is connected.i cannot hear the caller, but they can hear me and the radio. The radio should be off when the phone is engaged.most of the time, i just can't hear the caller but they can hear me.

While driving the car, the car speeds up on its own without me pushing the accelerator. The car also has rev hang and the rpms rise by its self and stays their. Usually between 6500rpm. I have to press the brake in order for the rpms to drop so its doesn't blow the motor.
With electronic stability control engaged, my new hyundai genesis coupe locked the brakes while i was turning into a parking lot. This happened one other time while turning into my driveway.on numerous other occasions the abs has been engagedwhen making a turn into a slightly raised driveway, but not to the extent that the brakes actually lock; i am able to drive through the braking action.the hyundai field service rep drove my car and was unable to get the brakes to lock, however, on at least four occasions he got the abs to engage while entering a driveway, accompanied by loud grinding noises.he stated that this was "normal operation due to driveway slope angle combined with wheel base and suspension characteristics."he went on to say that he could get every genesis coupe on the lot to do the same thing. Therefore, they felt no repairs were warranted even though i had told them that the brakes had actually locked up, placing me in a dangerous situation.a recent autoblog.com article noted the severe deficiencies in the hyundai genesis coupe electronic stability control that mirror my own experience.

I was driving on route 81 to harrisburg and heard a loud noise and my engine just shut off.i had to coast over to the side of the road to a safe place.i had to get my car towed and my mechanic inspected the vehicle and advised that the connecting rod inside the engine broke and put a hole in the engine and the oil tank.i had to get the car towed and while it was on the tow truck i saw the oil just pouring out of the bottom of the vehicle.the technician told me that this is very odd for this to break.he said it is most likely a manufacturers defect because this does not just happen. Oil tank was full with oil and the car has been well taken car of.any other incidents like this one?

On the headlights the up and down arrows embossed into the plastic housing are backwards.this has caused me numerous tries at adjustment and has internally put the projector assembly out of alignment.this is the way the car came from the factory.both sides are reversed.
When starting the vehicle with foot on the clutch, it lurched forward hitting a parking barrier. Dealer denied mechanical causes.from the time i bought the car, it has accelerated on it's own, going to the max in rpms, at random times.i can take my foot off the gas and it will drive itself. When i try to come to a stop, it will accelerate and i have to counter by hitting the brake.when taken to the dealer, they couldn't "replicate" it.when i argued with the man, he said he would honor the warranty when they could replicate it, though the warranty is now expired.i asked for something in writing, he initialed the work order.also, the front, under the bumper, is way too low and made of weak material, so when i have to go over any kind of dip, it drags, which has caused the piece to break.this also got up into the fender-well, which caused a hazard with my tires.i am stressed and scared of having a dangerous accident.i am considering trading the car in, but worry for the next owner.i no longer trust hyundai.i feel like my safety is not a priority for the company.they do not search for the cause, just send me back out in a defective vehicle.

Excessive smell of raw fuel from drivers rear tire area, entering into the passenger cabin area. Dealership general manager verified gas smell and fumes with a senior tech. Next regular tech cannot duplicate problem or symptom.
This car has been a headache since it went out of warranty (ironically).first it was the car wouldn't start due to an electrical problem between the alarm system and key fob.the starter was the next to go.most recently the fuel pump went literally while i was driving the car.fortunate i was able to make my way off the road and avoided collusion and possible physical injury.there were no warnings that there were any issues with the car, no dashboard warnings, no usual performance.the car was fine one second and completely dead the next.after incurring $300 in towing charges, first to my local mechanic who was unable to diagnose the problem because his computer couldn't read the hyundai codes, then to the hyundai dealership.hyundai claims it is the fuel pump.i'll remain skeptical until they confirm the car is fully functional.i find it impossible to comprehend how a 6 year old vehicle that is impeccably maintained should have the degree of problems i have experienced over the past couple of years. Needless to say, i will not be keeping the car for long and will not be continuing my relationship with hyundai.unfortunate since i have been a hyundai owner since 2001.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. While driving approximately 65 mph, the hood independently released in an open position . The contact cautiously pulled over to the side of the road and closed the hood tightly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four separate occasions where the hood latch was adjusted each time. The manufacturer was made aware of the defect. The failure mileage was unknown.
The hood on the 2010 hyundai genesis coupe does not fit properly allowing the hood to bounce at normal driving speeds. I have advised hyundai usa and they have advised me that the fit of the hood is to specification. My concern with the vehicle is if the hood does not fit properly, it may not latch properly. They have stated, but will not put in writing, the hood will not unlatch.
My vehicle was parked in a parking spot on a slight incline with the parking brake engaged and the stick left in 1st gear.my vehicle then rolled <12 inches into the vehicle parked in front of it.
Transmission is difficult to shift at times mostly into second gear.this can cause a rapid deceleration in traffic and i have seen the vehicle behind me do a nose dive hitting the brakes because my vehicle disrupted traffic flow.entering fast moving traffic is also a concern for this very reason.dealer has replaced transmission several times with no change in transmission behavior.
While driving my 2010 hyundai genesis coupe 3.8l track model, i experience severe problems with the transmission. When shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear whenever the temperature is below 30 degrees fahrenheit the transmission grinds going into gear. Hyundai usa had a tsb about it, and the transmission fluid was changed under warranty. A week later the problem is still occurring. Hyundai has not been helpful in fixing the problem whatsoever since. When it is very cold, the transmission will not allow me to shift into second gear at all, it'll grind and make noise and block me from shifting. When this happened, i had to quickly depress the clutch and let the car roll back down to a stop. There was a lot of traffic this day and i was almost involved in a collision because of this problem. When approaching highway speeds and shifting into 5th gear, the transmission grinds again. This is usually around 50mph and at around 2600-3000rpms. I have to force the shifter into the 5th gear slot. Should the transmission block me from shifting into 5th, as it does sometimes from 1st-2nd gear, this will certainly result in an accident.again, hyundai motor usa is not being helpful at resolving this issue. Since the transmission fluid change, hyundai will not approve any other warranty related work.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle erroneously downshifted and dramatically reduced vehicle speed. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that the transmission control module had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the manufacturer's recall. The failure mileage was 56,000. The vin was not available.

Trying to shift into any gear during cold climates is very difficult and sometimes impossible on the first attempt. Multiple gears grind when going into gear specifically 5th and 6th gear, occasionally 3rd. I took it to a hyundai dealership to get fixed and they said there was nothing wrong with it. This is a well known problem among the genesis coupe community and hyundai refuses to acknowledge they have a problem.
I feel like the transition on this car is a safety hazard. It locks you out of second gear at high rpms which could be dangerous in some situations. Also from 5th and 6th gear grind and are hard to actuate. A lot of people are having this problem.

I have a 2010 hyundai genesis 3.8 coupe 6-speed automatic with paddle and sport shift. I have had an ongoing issue with the vehicle for several months now not shifting properly. Sometimes it wont shift out of 1st gear and when it does it will unknowingly downshift and get stuck in a gear. Since theissue began, i have received several speeding tickets and had near death experiences due to the shifting. Sometimes it will increase and decrease speeds and the rpms will raise sometimes up to 6000 before it will shift or i have to place the car in park and turn off the ignition for the shifting to begin working properly again. I have to ask myself everyday if i am willing to risk my life for the issue because i have had so many near death experiences with this. It definitely needs to be looked into!!!
6-speed manual transmission hard to get into some gears. Grinding noise is heard on upshift from 2nd to 3rd and downshift from 6th to 5th. This is the second transmission the dealer installed. The original one had similar issues when the car was less than a year old and it was replaced by the dealer under warranty.
The 2010 hyundai genesis coupe has been defective for a few months now. It will abruptly shift from 3rd to 1st and from 5th to 3rd by itself. It will also not accelerate when you need it to. Transmission grinding/syncro issues, 2nd, 3rd, 5th gear grind, gear lockout, gear rejection(intermittent daily occurrence with no pattern), can causing loos of control of the vehicle, inability to safely accelerate etc.tech drove the car for 10miles and couldn't replicate, would not perform any more tests.common issue on cars made after 2009 up until 2013, manufacturing defect.see included forum link an youtube video describing the issue.http://www.gencoupe.com/drivetrain/23124-official-thread-manual-transmission-issues.htmlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lptumdrrkpg
I bought the car used with 32,500 miles. From day 1 there was a grind going into 5th gear. This was a known problem, but no tsb or recall was ever sent out about it. Just a tsb to change the fluid . At 82,000 miles the 5th gear synchro broke. I had to buy a used transmission from the junk yard and had it installed for $820 total including the transmission, labor and fluid. Why would they claim they have a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, when it only covers the first owner. And why would they know about the 5th gear grind and not do anything about it.
Hyundai genesis 4-door.purchased 10/2010--have had fourteen incidents where when i press on accelerator, there is no reaction or acceleration.has happened lots when i pull into intersection, press on accelerator, nothing happens, and i pray i don't get killed by oncoming traffic.finally, the car begins to move, but next time will i be killed???dealership had car for one week and couldn't find anything wrong.there's another complaint on the genesis listing this same problem.help!on incident dates and mileage questions, i just put a number--this problem has happened since i bought the car last fall.
I was driving heading southbound on the avenue and the vehicle in front of me braked suddenly and had no time to brake without hitting the vehicle in front of me. I tried to brake the most i could but did not make it so slammed into vehicle in front of me. It was a very hard impact and none of the airbags in the vehicle went off, so due to the whiplash my mouth hit the steering wheel and broke my bottom lip. I had my seat belt on so no other injuries occurred besides my ankle sprain from the jam of the accelerator with the center console. As soon as the crash occurred the car started going into smoke so i was scared and decided to get out of the vehicle before it might blow up. I forced myself out of the vehicle and put the car in the gear of park and no longer than two seconds later that i was out of the car, the car started to head in reverse on its own quickly! i did not even have a chance to close the door since i had just jumped out and went onto oncoming traffic and crossed the median and went across traffic onto the incoming traffic side and did not stop until it hit a wooden fence. This was the first time it had happen that it was on park and went reverse on its own, it was not safe at all! the vehicle was damaged all over and broke the property fence of the public park. Parts are being replaced and the car is in the body shop to be fixed.
The manual transmission in the 2010 hyundai genesis coupe is very problematic. Very often the gear selection is rejected not allowing the operator to up shift or downshift. Second gear and fifth gear are the worse. Grinding often occurs when shifting into 2nd gear or 5th gear. I was merging into traffic on interstate 495 in massachusetts when my car would not shift into 5th gear. The transmission simply started to grind. When merging into traffic at 50-60mph an operator needs to shift from 4th to 5th and i could not. I had to quickly downshift into 4th gear to try and keep accelerating. Any shifting into 5th gear after approximately 3,400 rpms resistance and often grinding will occur. This can very easily cause an accident, expecting to be able to shift into the next higher gear and not being able to do so. I have taken my car to a hyundai dealer and "they could not replicate the problem". I took the service tech for a ride and the car ground into 5th, and i was then told "this is normal operation of the transmission".hyundai does not want to remedy this problem, and eventually many genesis coupe owners with manual transmissions will be using lemon law protection to have their cars fixed.
Hyundai genesis coup rear seat does not comply with nhtsa child seat anchorage,49 cfr parts 571 and 596[docket no. 98-3390, notice 2]rin 2127-ag50federal motor vehicle safety standards;child restraint systems;child restraint anchorage systemssec vii e2: "the permanent mark required by this final rule is a small 13 mm (' inch) diameter circle in a color that contrasts with the seat material ".on this hyundai, the orange interior is matched with orange buttons.this is easily viewed in vehicle or on websites such as http://www.automedia.com/new_cars/hyundai_genesis%2520coupe_2010_base_photo.
Driver's seat lift motor failed while driving(the seat was not being adjusted at the time) causing it to suddenly drop to the floor.when the seat fell, it landed off of the track and was not secured-the seat was extremely unstable, and could be easily moved forward, sideways, and lifted by hand.basically the driver's seat was no longer attached to the floor of the car.the part is on order and will be replaced upon arrival at the hyundai dealership in tampa, fl.courtesy hyundai has the broken part.

The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. The contact reviewed a service campaign consent letter from the manufacturer, which indicated that the hecu was to be serviced and replaced for all genesis vehicles. When the contact called the manufacturer, they specified that the genesis coupe was not included in that manufacturer campaign. The contact stated that there was a random progressing failure in which the brake pedal was applied, but was slow to respond. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop. The mechanic drained the brakes, replaced the brake pads, and serviced the brake system. The dealer was notified of the brake system failure and indicated that the independent repair shop had not completed the repair correctly. The contact notified the repair shop and was informed that the repair was completed correctly. The manufacturer refused to service the hecu system pertaining to the service campaign, so the contact was unable to determine a permanent remedy. The vehicle was parked due to the failure. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 13v113000 (exterior lighting , service brakes, hydraulic) and 13v489000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 66,500.

Pulling right when braking.left frontcaliper 90 degrees, right front caliper 165 degrees.diagnosis was abs pump corrosion.hyundai had a recall in 2014 on the genesis sedan for exact situation but have advised that there are no recalls on the coupe.
While driving approximately 50 mph, the brake pedal failed to respond when the brake pedal was depressed. The emergency brake had to be applied in order to stop the vehicle. The dealer stated that the brake fluid was contaminated and the entire brake system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 13v489000 (service brakes, hydraulics). The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Car severelypulls to the right, was like this from the day it left the dealership. I have taken it back to dealership and was told that all alignment specs are in soec and do not know what to do. I have taken it to 2 other alignment shops and everything is in spec but car still pull so hard to the right, does not track straight. I have tested on all types of road surfaces and no change. I have changed to new tires and still tracks to the right, there are many many people complaining about the same thing online.*ln
Vehicle steering wheel has continued to make a loud clicking/clunking noise during turning, primarily counter clockwise.dealership has replaced clockspring (1st visit), lubricated steering components(2nd visit) and has now denied a "problem at all" per their district parts and services manager.no one is unable to come to a resolution as to why this noise is occurring, or what it causing it to occur to be able to determine if it is creating a driving hazard on the road or not.they are also unable to demonstrate to me that it doesn't pose a driving hazard.due to the noises the steering wheel makes, i am uneasy driving the vehicle in fear of losing complete steering ability in the vehicle.dealership, district manager, and consumer relations have been unable to assist in determining if this is a safety hazard, or poor manufacturing.
Car pulls to right with factory alignment.
The 2010 genesis coupe hood is misaligned on the driver side. The gap is about 1/4" wider on the driver side as compared to the passenger side. This allows moreair to enter the hood compartment. The wind buffeting effect vibrates the hood and could create an unsafe situation if the hood opens up at high speed.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. The contact stated that water leaked into the vehicle whenever it rained. The contact stated that puddles of water formed on the floors of the front and rear passenger's side seats. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
Sunroof spontaneously shattered on the highway causing paint damage and cuts on my hands. I was traveling at 65mph going straight.
The hood never fit as tight as it should, flopping a bit over bumps but one day i popped it open and the whole thing slid forward from the passenger side.the two bolts holding to the bracket were not there.since i could not find them on the garage floor, they must have come off in traffic.dealership replaced the bolts but it still didn't fix the alignment so i had to take it to a body shop.pics here:http://www.rwdcoupe.com/general-discussion/2331-hood-problem-bolts-came-off-traffic.html.
Car pulls to right with factory alignment.
The front suspension on the car is defective.the car handles all bumps horribly and has "bottomed out" quite a number of times, leading to the cracking and breaking offof the bottom of the front bumper/wheel well components, causing a safety concern at highway speeds.had to pull the car off the road and stop at a home center and patch it with duct tape. Since then i have asked other owners and have found about similar complaints and problems.i am an adult 53 years old and have never driven any car hard and have never had this happen to me with any other vehicle i have driven.i went online and found this problem identified in numerous discussion groups etc. So i am sure the manufacturer is aware. What responsibility does a manufacturer have in a situation such as this?this car was top of the line and cost $35,000.00.
One of my automotive forum member experienced a serious sudden acceleration issue with his hyundai genesis 2 door car, 2010 model. The issue was believed to be caused by vdc(vehicle dynamic control software) that hyundai motor in south korea admitted but refused to do any action against this issue. The hyundai car, genesis, can be accelerated suddenly without pressing the acceleration pedal. The engine rpm was risen upto 6,000 rpm without pressing the pedal and the rpm never dropped again. Hyundai r&d center found the car had different size of wheel at the front side. The owner then withdrew the complaint against the hyundai motor inc in south korea. But i want nhtsa need to investigate this issue because other drivers in usa can experience the same safety issue. This might cause fatal accidents if the front tire lose air pressure. The hyundai motor seems to hide this issue without doing recalls.
Temporary spare has a split in the tread area.never used.took it out to clean trunk and noticed a flat spot on the tread and then the tear.
When applying pressure to my brake petal, the car did not stop. I almost was involved in a few rear end collisons.it was very scary!dealership checked the brakes and nothing is wrong.i need to do a master cylinder change.unfortunately, my car is no longer under warranty.currently, it has 53,000 miles only. No recall for my vehicle.
Spongy brake pedal goes to floor as in recall 13v489000 with other vehicles of this make and type, but no recall on this vehicle all other repairs standard repairs not clearing problem
Car will not accelerate properly in 1st & 2nd gear and tends to want to stall when reaching a certain rpm; car will not go beyond 40 mph; check engine light comes on; unable to determine when the defect is about to occur making the car unreliable and unsafe to drive; defect occurs will vehicle is in mid-operation while driving on road regardless of speed.defect(s) have resulted in several near collision experiences, since cars behind vehicle have almost rear-ended vehicle as they did not expect the car to decelerate with no brake light indication of the vehicle slowing down and is therefore a danger to drive.driver unable to safely merge with traffic on major highways as the vehicle does not accelerate properly and will not go faster than 40 mph, making it impossible to merge seamlessly with traffic thereby placing driver and drivers of other vehicles in danger and safety risk.driver unable to use side-roads as an alternate measure, as car does not accelerate properly and tends to want to stall when pulling off in 1st and 2nd gear resulting in cars behind vehicle almost rear-ending vehicle.three attempts have already been made to repair the defect, yet defect continues to occur.
It does not shift properly causing it to decrease or increase speed without pressing the gas pedal. The problem also causes the vehicle to exceed recommended rpm level which causes the vehicle to get stuck in one gear and makes it difficult to stop the vehicle. This issue has caused instances where i have had to swerve off the road to avoid collision.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle by engaging the push-to-start button, the vehicle erroneously accelerated. The contact was not applying the brakes at the time nor was the vehicle shifted into drive. The contact crashed into a glass garage door. The contact sustained minor cuts and bruises from the impact. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages were 63,510.
While driving the car, the car speeds up on its own without me pushing the accelerator. The car also has rev hang and the rpms rise by its self and stays their. Usually between 6500rpm. I have to press the brake in order for the rpms to drop so its doesn't blow the motor.

What i had believed to be somewhat of a nuisance problem has now become a very critical problem.a couple of times after purchasing this hyundai genesis coupe 2.0 while trying to normally accelerate, the car virtually died. Acceleration flat spot. Somewhat similar to the old carbureted cars.very infrequent, however, the other day losing acceleration almost caused a major accident. Very close.
