Front passenger seat weight sensor malfunction.there was no incident/accident.airbag service light came on, regular garages couldn't diagnose problem, only a hyundai dealer can read the code; once it was determined that weight sensor was not working, apparently the only solution is to replace the entire passenger seat assembly, cannot replace just the sensor.

Dash 'engine light' activated, check by dealer revealed transmission issue. Trany solenoid and wire harness need replacement. Dealer or hyundai motor would not include wire harness in warranty though it was stated it shorted and caused malfunction. The complete cost of repairs should be covered under 10 yr / 100000 warranty.note: refer nhtsa electrical harness recall, #06v356000. This covered 07 vehicles, which is when my vehicle was built.note: hyundai motors case # [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving on interstate 40 in memphis, tn, approximately 2:30 pm on march 07, 2014, the esc indicator light became illuminated on the dash-board. My attempts to extinguish the illuminated esc light numerous times failed to reset or extinguished the esc light. Upon arriving home about 3:30 pm, i parked my 2008 hyundai entourage, turned-off the engine and restarted the engine. The illuminated indicator esc light did not inappropriately illuminate.i inspected the exterior lights only to learn all of the rear lights were still illuminated with the engine turned-off and in park. My efforts to turn-off the rear lights failed. I was instructed to disconnect the positive battery terminal and bring my 2008 hyundai entourage in for inspection and repairs at a hyundai dealership. After i reconnected the battery cable on tuesday, march 11, 2014, the esc indicator light reappeared (became illuminated) again.after another hyundai motor america dealership inspected and repaired my 2008 hyundai entourage, it was learned that the previous hyundai dealership performing the "recall and repair" mechanical work, "jerry-rigged" (to fix an object (usually mechanical) to a working condition in a haphazard way. Also known as doing a macgyver on it), or repaired my electronic stability control (esc) system in a manner inconsistent or contrary to hyundai motor america manufacturer specifications. The hyundai dealership intentionally and purposefully used parts that would fail and put my safety in question. In view of how i was treated by professional staff at that dealership during my seven (7) hour ordeal, i believe the dealership's action was an act of purposeful sabotage and criminal negligence, designed to put my personal safety in question.

The door handle just fell off of the door on the left side of the car. The automatic sliding door has given us many problems, we have taken it to get it fixed and it still does not slide properly. When my husband tried to open the door the handle just fell off. Now what do we do.

After closing passenger side slider door several times, it suddenly opened again without pushing the ceiling button ....on its own and i had to force it shut physically.the vehicle was in park but engine was idling

While driving up an incline the vehicle began to make a grinding noise.shortly thereafter the car began shaking, with the check engine and esc lights both coming on, then a sudden stoppage of acceleration, and then engine shut down while the vehicle was still in motion.this caused the immediate loss of steering and the brakes to go soft. The vehicle sat for 10 minutes before re-starting; however, after driving approximately 100 feet, the car once again made the grinding noise, engine and esc light illumination, shaking, and then shut down.this is the third time since purchasing this vehicle in march of 2008, that the engine has stopped working while driving. The dealership has replaced a throttle sensor twice, the last time being october 18, 2009, and it is currently in the shop again for the same problem.this is just one of several ongoing problems and concerns with this vehicle. Most notably outside of the sudden loss of power and engine shut off described, the brakes have been checked on several occasions for noises, violent shaking, and loss of function to which the dealership states that they are not worn or warped or this is normal for this vehicle. The tires have no grip and spin on both dry and went road conditions making sudden acceleration impossible and dangerous.the vehicle has also been checked for the lack of gas mileageapproximately 13 mpg city and 16 mpg highway, well less then the 19/21 on the sticker.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that the electronic stability control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

The dealer says this happens when the gas cap is not on properly closed.the check engine light comes on and the esc light comes on.this causes the car to lose power and almost stall.the only way to get the engine running right again is to turn it off and restart after about 30 seconds.this first happened to me on the bqe in brooklyn.this was in 2011 3 months after i purchased the car used from thehyundai dealer second hand. Last week it happened 3 times.i was at a stoplight and when i started up the check engine light went on and the esc light came on and i suddenly i lost power confusing the cars behind me.when i start up again the esc light is out but the check engine light is still on. I find this is dangerous and needs to be corrected.i am afraid this will happen on the highway and i lose power, brakes and power steering!.

Vehicle was parked in the driveway, not driven for approximately one week.the engine compartment started smoking then erupted in flames.

Our vehicle has been for repairs to columbia hyundai in montgomery, ohio four times in less than two years. The main culprit that has been the primary reason for these service repairs has been the cam phasers.this time, most recently, 16 mar 2016, i was informed by the service department that the cam phasers were in need of replacement once again.this also required the timing chain and tensioner to be replaced which is in line with the continued issues with the cam phasers ongoing issues.additionally, i was informed that the oil control valve needs replaced. This is significance because the manufacturer has known of this issue since it put out a technical bulletin in may 2009. The total cost of repairs is nearly $1,300 including hyundai refusing to cover the cam phasers, despite this being less than one year from the last date of replacement by columbia hyundai. Today, i was forced to drive my vehicle home despite breaking down without even having left the dealership lot. The van broke down several more times on the way home and within less than a mile from the dealership. I forced the van to drive despite the check engine light flashing as previously reported to the dealership and despite the hard rough idling and tremendous loss of power that nearly resulted in a head on collision between myself and another vehicle at a nearby intersection. This has gone on long enough and despite hyundai's efforts to assist us by covering the repairs the first time, refunding me the amount that i was charged the second time due to fighting over the timing of the incident. The third time this happened the dealership covered the cost, but took so long for the repairs and it still resulted in the cam phasers being diagnosed a fourth time as needing replacement. This time hyundai refused to do any services and wanted to charge nearly $1,300 for the total repair costs!

The contact owned a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in her driveway, she went outside and noticed smoke coming from the under the hood. The stated that she and family members attempted to extinguish the fire with hoses as flames were seen coming from under the vehicle. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. A fire and police department reports were filed.no injuries sustained. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the fire department. The insurance company was contacted but has not seen the vehicle as of yet. A local dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact referred the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 20v061000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 104,000. *lnconsumer stated there is a recall on it #188.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph when the esc and check engine warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. There was also a complete loss of engine power. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and after waiting one hour, the vehicle was able to be restarted and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

My wife and i first brought our vehicle to columbia hyundai/acura in montgomery, ohio for a severe loss of power while she was driving. The incident nearly caused my wife and children to be rear-ended while trying to accelerate to highway speeds, which is 65 mph, here in the greater cincinnati area on interstate 275. Hyundai did warranty the work performed by their service shop at columbia hyundai, but only after it was revealed to me that the hyundai warranty only applied to the original owners. This was not something i was aware of and even the sales manager at jake sweeney used cars and i commented on how great this warranty was for me and my family because hyundai stands by it. Well, they did not want to honor any of it until i illustrated that this was a defect in their vehicle and asking me to pay the costs of the repairs and associated repairs was ridiculous. The issue involved the cam phasers of the engine and were repaired along with other parts and a recall item addressed. Not less than one year ago, prior to my family and i going on vacation, we brought the van back for the same reason, although i did not notice any hesitations, the mechanic who test drove it did.it was the cam phasers once again. This time hyundai only was willing to cover half of the repair costs, which left me with nearly $1,100 in total costs for a rental vehicle, fuel and the costs of parts and labor. This deeply affected our finances and nearly cancelled the vacation to florida i had been saving up for well over a year. Having no choice, i paid the costs, and took possession of the van after paying. I had not even left the dealership driveway when the check engine light came back on! my son was in the car with me and i have video of this occurring.the issue with the power loss happened again and still occurs today as recently as a few days ago with my wife & children in the van!

Vehicle surges, the motor will rev up and down between 500 and 1400 rpms almost stalling. When stopped at a red light or stop sign with the vehicle in gear the van will surge and move you ahead 2-3 inches with the brakes applied. The vehicle will surge at different speeds with it in reverse with no one touching the gas pedal. The check engine light has never come on. The van also will act as if it has no power or not getting enough fuel when first taking off then it will take off like its got a turbo. Its tough to drive this vehicle safely and it doesn't do it all the time. Also had problems with shaking in the front at 65+ mph. Put new tires on and it helped but still does it. The sliding doors wont stay open on any inclines only on level ground. The brakes have pulsated/shake since about 10000 miles. Had metallic rattle coming from front tires when turning but only does it on occasion, usually when turning and backing up. The radio volume will sometimes lock and not turn up or down. It carries a 10 yr, 100,000 mile warranty and contacted dealer and hyundai corporate office and are unwilling to replace any parts saying no code and can't duplicate problem for the surging.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact speculates that the vehicle does not receive the gas mileage that was advertised on the epa sticker. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and a technician concluded that no failures were present.the current and failure mileages were 10000.

2008 hyundai entourage front headlight (head lamp) melted (both the driver's and passenger) side of the vehicle.repair requires a new head lamp assembly including bulbs. Dealer estimated cost of repairs $369.00 each ($738.00), $55.00 each side for labor ($110.00), plus taxes. I estimates cost of repair approximately $1,000.00, depending of the state of tennessee taxation policy.

The sliding doors do not open and close properly. Sometimes they work and sometimes they do not. They may close half way and then go back to open position and stay there or go back to closed position. The driver side door closed on me once when i was strapping my grandson in, it had been open awhile. Luckily i had the key on the floor in front of me and used the key fob to open it.the door did not open automatically when it hit me, as i supposed it would. These doors were replaced a few months ago. The same thing happened with the hatch door, my husband closed it while i was reaching for something inside the van. I jumped out of the way but it hit me on the shoulder and did not stop.as i was slowing down at a stop sign the car did not slow fast enough and i had to push the pedal all the way down to get the car to stop completely. I had no warning that there was anything wrong with the brakes. No lights on the dash, no noises, nothing had happened before that. I took it in the next day and was told it was fixed and it was due to heat.i have lost all power in the car while driving.luckily, i was not on the highway at the time and my grandchildren were not in the car.i coasted to a friends house and stopped in front of his house and asked what might be wrong with the van.he advised me to shut it off for awhile and let it reset, then turn it on again.after it happened a second time i took it in for repair.while driving i have had to endure lights flashing on and off in the car. The overhead reading lights in front and back, they take turns. Then the beeping starts too (the door open light goes onthe dash). That also takes turns. Sometimes they all go on at the same time and go off and on or off, and take turns going on and off. Its maddening, and i have to drive through this.

The rear door (hatchback door), (latches/locks/linkage, structure), on my 2008 hyundai entourage mini-van, failed to open. All efforts to open the door proved fruitless. Request hyundai motor america to repair latches, locks, and/or linkage under one or more of the recall and/or repair consent decree negotiated with the national highway transportation safety administration (nhtsa). Note, latches and locking mechanisms on this vehicle have failed previous. Reference the passenger side of the vehicle sliding door.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated while driving at approximate speeds of 40-45 mph, the drivers door opened without warrant. She immediately slowed down, pulled over to the shoulder of the road and closed the door. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence without incident where it would later be towed to the dealer for further inspection.the failure and current mileages were 16,747.

Engine hood released from closed position and flew upat about 35-40mph. Latch and safety both failed. Notified hyundai usa on oct 26, 2013. Resulted in significant hood damage but thankfully, the driver maintained control and no injuries.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that while traveling 65 mph, the door ajar warning light illuminated and a bell chimed from the control panel intermittently. The contact also stated the driver's side sliding door failed to lock automatically. The vehicle was taken to the dealer seven times. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 68,000.

I have a 2008 hyundai entourage.the rear driver side door does not open or close properly with the power controls.

Power sliding doors on van start to close then pop open about 6; car make a beeping sound and the doors have to be closed manually.

When i stepped on the gas from a stop at a red light the engine started racing and the throttle stuck.the engine wouldn't stop racing so i had to turn the key off to get it to stop. Pretty scary.a secondary issue is that the rear passenger seat will not flip up. It's locked in place.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that while driving on a hilly area, the electronic stability control and the brake lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacture advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 09v122000(service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 70,060.

I was taking my family for shopping, and after my kids (5 kids) were seated in the car and making sure the seat belts was worn. I walked to the driver door to start the car and drive to the destination; a thick white smoke was coming out of underneath the engine hood even thoughthe car's engine was still off! i was shocked and didn't know what to do first! should i safe my family and help the kids to run out of the car or check the cause of the fire! since i am an electrical engineering and have experience with cars, i knew the problem was an electrical problem and if i unplug the battery this should solve the problem faster! with a lot of smoke, i was able to unplug the cables of the battery. Then, i did help my kids to get out of the van' they were very scared and didn'tknow what to do and how to help! i checked on the car and i did find the smoke was less and after couple minutes stopped completely. Situation could be worse than that, the van was full of gas parked in middle of other 4 cars, 15 ft from our homes. I did see theanti-lock brake (abs) module was burned-out! i did order a used abs module from ebay (see attached file) and replaced the old one. Unfortunately, it did not work! many lights in the dashboard appeared (break, abs, engine) and lost some functions of the driving like cruise and smooth engine sound! after visiting many local repairers, i did call the local dealer and asked for new module and got quote on new abs module (part only costs about $2500). After about a month from the accident day, i received a recall letter from hyundai company in usa with two recalls in which one of them said abs module may short circuitan electrical short within the abs module may cause an engine compartment fire, even when the car is turned off, increasing the risk of an injury.contacted the company but they did not solve my problems.

Driving on the skyway heading into downtown chicago on a sunday morning. Speed was approx. 70mph. I got into the left lane to pass, and as soon as i did, i noticed that the left lane was ending about 1/4 mile ahead. I gave the accelerator a little extra, and the vehicle took off. The speed climbed to 75,80 then 85mph. The accelerator was not stuck, it was not a floor mat issue, it was a mechanical failure. I was standing on the breaks, with both feet, and the breaks were not functional at all. Fortunately traffic was light, and on the highway, there was room to accelerate to this speed without crashing the vehicle. Fearing what could be ahead, i eventually put the vehicle into neutral, which red-lined the rpm's, but did not slow the vehicle. I put it back into drive, hoping to restart or reset the accelerator/brake system, but it did nothing, so i turned off the engine, put it into neutral and eventually coasted to a stop on the off ramp. The brakes were still not working, and i lost power steering, but coasted to a stop. I had my wife and 3 children in the vehicle with me, and we are lucky to have survived the incident.hyndai corporation has been completely unprofessional in this matter. By putting the vehicle in neutral tocontrol the speed, the engine seized (estimate 6k repair) hyundai would not pay for these repairs. Their consumer affairs division in hyundai, didn't return my call within 3 days as they had indicated. I had to call them back and file a safety report, and eventually when they did respond, after multiple calls, i sent them an estimate, and they told me they would pay for the diagnostics, but no repairs.the engine has to run on its own power for them to "accurately assess" what happened.hyundai is not interested in finding a fix to this failure.as far as hyundai is concerned, the incident never happened.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. When depressing the brake pedal, it traveled all the way down to the floorboard. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage n/a. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 20v061000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was taken to priority hyundai located at 1499 s military hwy, chesapeake, va 23320, to be repaired. The dealer was unable to provide the recall repair due to the parts being the incorrect parts. The contact stated that a vin search showed no open recalls on the vin. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

This is a complaint about the cambers on this vehicle. On many occasions since buying this vehicle i have experienced the following in left hand turns at45 - 55 mph. When trying to pass a vehicle, when i turned the steering wheel to the left to move into the left passing lane something jerked the wheel further to the left and has nearly caused me to run off the road on the other side. The first time it happened at about 20,000 miles. This has also happened when traveling down the mountains in west virginia in sharp left hand turns . My concern is that this may be caused by the cambers. Every time i take my van to have the tires rotated i am told the cambers hold the tires at an angle and there is not adjustment for it. They are permanently at an angle and have been ever since i bought the vehicle. I have asked the dealership about the problem and the only thing they will tell me is there are no aftermarket parts to fix it, and that it cannot be adjusted. Because there are no adjustment, this vehicle wears out tires long before the tread life is up. The first set of tires had to be replaced at 25,000 miles. Tire manufactures will not give credit against mileage because of the cambers. Now due to the heavy corrosion underneath, and no camber adjustments i feel this vehicle is unsafe.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact had to apply force to the steering wheel in order to turn the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000. The vin was unavailable.

The vehicle has begun vibrating significantly upon acceleration and at higher speeds.i have since had the tires rotated multiple times and balanced.i finally took the vehicle in to the dealership this week (7/8/14) and they recommended front brake repair a replacement engine intake (unsure of the actual name) that should take care of the problem.after almost $400 in repairs already, their post installation test derive revealed the same vibration issues.they have now suggested that they have identified massive deterioration in the right axle an that now needs to be replaced. From my research on message boards, this is a problem that seems to exist on hyundai entourage models and kia sedona minivans from the same year.the vehicle is less than a year outside of warranty.since this seems to be a pervasive issue with this model and a manufacturer safety concern, since theaxle is not a part that should be subject to this type of normal wear an tear after only 52k miles, i am requesting that the repairs be completed at no charge to me vs the $800 requested by the dealer.

While turning left at an intersection, i heard a loud bang and lost steering control.i pulled over to the side of the road and called for a tow to my mechanic. The passenger side front wheel was displaced, the 2 front wheels were not parallel and the wheel had hit the front bumper cover causing it to come loose. The tow driver noted that the lower control arm snapped. Front passenger wheel was hitting the front bumper cover as it was pulled onto the flat bed. I called hyundai corp and local dealer on following day (monday). I tried to get direction regarding inspection of vehicle. Since an additional tow could cause more damage; i asked if hyundai could inspect at the local shop.i could not get any direction on how to get the car inspected. On the 3rd call i was advised that safety recalls are only covered for 1 year after the recall service. When i asked if i needed to contact nhtsa, jack indicated that since i mentioned nhtsa he is required to pass the case to a sr hyundai representative and that i would receive a response very soon.i have not received any return call or other communication from anyone at hyundai corp or the local dealer. The attached pics show the front passenger side lower control arm corrosion and failure. The recall service performed in 2014 was obviously not adequate. The sudden loss of control was a horrifying feeling. Iam hopeful that nhtsa will take appropriate action so that others are not continued to be put in peril. I understand there have been numerous other occurrences of lower control arm failure in vehicles that were serviced under the recall. Note that my vehicle was serviced for the recall at freehold hyundai shortly after i received notice.

Drivers sliding door will not latch completely when it closes.you have to open and close door a few times and then it may latch worried door might open while driving and not sure if there was ever a recall that was missed on this van.the vehicle was in motion when this occurred

I was driving my van at approximately 40 mph on a highway when hood flew up and broke windshield i have read that hyundai and kia have multiple recalls for hood safety latches not engaging and think the entourage should been included before there are any additional incidents

On two occasions on thursday, may 1st the driver's side rear power door become unlocked and slid open.we have had the vehicle in for several recalls related to this power sliding door.we continue to have issues with the door closing and locking properly.

This the 2rd time my. Rear sliding door flew open while on highway with my grandkids in the car .majority of the times the rear sliding doors will not open the buttons do not remotely open the sliding doors and the sliding doors get stuck .its really dangerous because if my grandkids are back there a danger breaks out they are most likely not to survive .

Side slider doors no longer open manually using internal or external handles. Regardless of center pillar "power switch"setting above the mirror - the only way they open is using the key fob or the "open/close" switch also above the mirror.this is a very concerning human safety issue.in an accident situation - someone may not able to get out of the vehicle.tsb-09-be-024 may be related.

After closing passenger side slider door several times, it suddenly opened again without pushing the ceiling button ....on its own and i had to force it shut physically.the vehicle was in park but engine was idling

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that the passenger's side sliding door would not release open after repeated attempts. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer numerous times where the motor was replaced each time but to no avail. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The failure mileage was unavailable.

From day 1 of ownership passenger power doors at different times would not open, took to dealership but was told they could not find a problem, can not open doors from inside van, now passenger door driverside will not open even if u try from outside, i was told it needed a motor, which is $800.00 without labor, so we believe it is safety issue, if in accident passengers can't get out of van, at times running down interstate at 70 mph the buzzer comes on telling us the door is open

This vehicle has been to the dealership over 10 times to fix numerous issues with the automatic doors.issues include not opening, not closing, not stopping when obstructed and even opening while driving.friday september 30, 2011 the van was picked up from the dealership after having the door fixed when the door opened on its own while backing out of the driveway.the following day after exiting the highway and pulling into a parking lot the left passenger door opened on its own right after it was put into park.even with the power shut off to the door we could not get the door to remain closed.the vehicle was towed back to the dealership.the wrecker driver had to a bungee cord to keep the door closed for the trip.

The door handle just fell off of the door on the left side of the car. The automatic sliding door has given us many problems, we have taken it to get it fixed and it still does not slide properly. When my husband tried to open the door the handle just fell off. Now what do we do.

Power sliding doors erratic operation. Currently one door does not operate with remote or inside power button. It would partially open then close automatically, then stopped operating completely. Have had similar problems in the past, addressed by the dealer. Now it's a repeat issue. Other customers report doors opening by themselves while vehicle is in motion. This is a safety issue and warrants a safety recall.

This model entourage minivan has powered rear sliding doors. The doors often jam making egress/ingress difficult and/or unsafe.

There were numerous incidents with my 2008 hyundai entourage power sliding doors automatically opening/closing on their own. It mostly happened when i was stopped and was waiting on my children's bus to come but the incident in january 2009 occurred when i was getting on the interstate. I had stopped at a red light and proceeded to turn onto the interstate when one of my power sliding door opened on its own while i was driving. This seat just so happened to be the seat that my, then, 3 month old daughter would sit in. I literally had to take it to the dealership more than 4 times in a year (sometimes i would not take it in because they kept telling me if they could not replicate it, there was nothing they could do) and it was in the shop, collectively, about a month so they could attempt to replicate the problem. Even with showing them video, they said they could not tell what the problem was. After about a year and a half from purchase, they finally started changing out parts (starting from cheapest to more expensive per my request) and found that it had to do with the switches. This is a huge safety concern because the doors have shut on me while i have been standing in the door trying to get my kids out, they have opened while driving, and many times it would open and close repeatedly on its own but wouldn't fully open until i turned off the power function. If something happened and the car caught fire, this could cause smaller children to become entrapped. It is a serious safety issue that i have seen people posting about all over the internet with the exact same problem as i am mentioning. These vehicles need to be recalled before someone does lose their life or become seriously and/or permanently injured!

I was driving at 45 mph and suddenly we heard the noise stating that passenger door is opened. We stopped our car on the side as kids were sitting in the back. Opened the doors and closed again. This happened few time since then. There is definitely some problem with the parts.

Driver side power sliding door does not open.

The sliding doors remain in open position when van is driven. They are supposed to close automatically while sounding an alarm. No alarm sounds at all they just stay open as i took off.

The automatic sliding door for the vehicle have had a number of issues in the past - either related to not opening fully, not closing fully or automatically closing while opening. The latter causes the door to close on a child's fingers.the latest incident happened on october 18, 2009 at about 4:13pm. While traveling from williamsburg, va back to rockville, md, (route 64, va) the left passenger door opened while the vehicle was in motion at approx 60 miles per hour.as a result, the driver had to perform an emergency stop on the highway to close the door. Until the vehicle was brought to a complete stop, the adult passenger in the front passenger seat had to hold onto the child seated at the open door.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. The contact stated that the rear sliding doors operated independently. The failure occurred without warning. Prestige auto mart (288 broadway, taunton, ma) was contacted, but stated that they do not repair doors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000. The vin was not provided.

The problem started out where the power to the rear sliding doors started to stick, make a crunching noise and beep when trying to close. Then the power would not work at all. I switched the doors to manually open and close, which as fine for awhile. Then it started to beep and the door open sign would light on the dash but would still be shut. I would then pull over and close the door and lock it. Then one day with my six year old son and dog in the back it opened wide as i was turning on to a highway. I had to pull over almost causing an accident . We have noticed that the locking mechanism is not latching and now we have to tie the door shut because it will try to open every time i make a right hand turn. The door ajar light and the beeping is constant now. I have seen that there are numerous complaints about this same problem!

Rear lift-gate door latch assembly failure.

The contact stated that whenever they would maneuver the vehicle while parking, there was a squealing sound coming from the wheels. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic to replace the tires however, the certified mechanic stated that the lower control arms had rusted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact had learned from hyundai of perryville (343 n perryville rd, rockford, il 61107; (815) 229-0089) that the vehicle previously received a protective coating on the lower control arm to prevent excessive rust in 2014 under nhtsa campaign number: 13v556000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,227. Invalid vin.

While turning left at an intersection, i heard a loud bang and lost steering control.i pulled over to the side of the road and called for a tow to my mechanic. This complaint is in regards to the nhtsa campaign number 13v556000-component suspension and/or front lower control arm corrosion. My vehicle was purchased march 2008 and is registered in virginia (not included in the recall), however 90% of the miles on this vehicle are from traveling in west virginia (which is included in the recall). I called the hyundai customer service line to ask if my van was included in the recall. They told me it is not included in the recall. They would not tell me why it was not included. My mechanic has checked the van and has quoted in writing the following. "suspension front and rear has heavy corrosion (appears to still meet va state inspection criteria)". He told me the rear toe cannot be adjusted due to the heavy corrosion. It is now making a horrible metal to metal grinding noise in the front end. I am very concerned and afraid for my safety in this vehicle. I travel alone in areas that are mountainous and i do not have cell phone service in these areas. This van is my only vehicle so i have no choice but to drive it. Any vehicle that has heavy corrosion that creates a safety issue regardless of where it travels should be included in the recall. I am requesting that the vehicles in this recall be expanded to include all states. Please help.

Backing out of my driveway and my van started making a loud thumping noise. I was not able to go forward or in reverse. Looked underneath and found the driver's side lower control arm corroded and disintegrated, and the axel had come out of the transmission. There was a recall in 2014 for corrosion but all they did was spray something on that was supposed to protetct it. It did not work. If i had been anywhere other than my driveway it could have been an extremely bad situation as i lost control of my steering. I had it towed to the dealer today and they want $878 to replace the two control arms (with after-market parts).

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai entourage. While driving, the contact heard a clunking noise and the steering ability failed. The contact parked the vehicle and noticed that the front control arm fractured. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that both front lower control arms needed to be replaced. The front lower driver side control arm was repaired; however, the front lower passenger side control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 13v556000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,610.

The purpose of this letter is to request nhtsa to include 2008 hyundai entourage vehicles from the state of virginia in the agency's recall and repair authorization, nhtsa campaign number 13v556000, components suspension, and/or front lower control arm corrosion,' dated november 06, 2013. I am the original owner of a 2008 hyundai entourage, purchased in the state of virginia, with the exact mechanical problems delineated in the agencys recall and repair notice and authorization. Although i lived in virginia, i worked in washington, dc, and traveled extensively in the salt belt' states of maryland, new york, pennsylvania, and washington, dc, as noted in the agencys recall and repair authorization. Critically important, the state of virginia has the exact weather conditions as west virginia. To include the state of west virginia in the recall and repair authorization and not virginia is nonsensical or preposterous. 2008 hyundai entourages from virginia have had as much exposure to the corrosive and harmful impact of road salt and water' as other vehicles designated in the agency's recall and repair report of november 06, 2013, campaign 13v556000.

After closing passenger side slider door several times, it suddenly opened again without pushing the ceiling button ....on its own and i had to force it shut physically.the vehicle was in park but engine was idling

The rear sliding doors do not open. They only open from the outside. If a person is sitting in the rear of the vehicle and tries to exit, they can not get out of the vehicle unless opened from the outside latch. Only when parked exiting the vehicle

The right rear sliding door does not stay latched. It automatically slides open while driving.

Vehicle was parked in the driveway, not driven for approximately one week.the engine compartment started smoking then erupted in flames.

When i stepped on the gas from a stop at a red light the engine started racing and the throttle stuck.the engine wouldn't stop racing so i had to turn the key off to get it to stop. Pretty scary.a secondary issue is that the rear passenger seat will not flip up. It's locked in place.
