I eventually told the finance company and the dealer i was not going to pay for this car because of the defects.the finance company came and took the car in january of 1996.it was put on my credit as a reposession, which was not the case.the car was sold to me as a new car and the car had 1500 miles on it when it was sold to me as a new car.i thought that was the end of that situation, but recently, 5 years later after the fact, i was servered court papers last month from the finance company, for a payment of $6,000 for remainding balance on this lemon.i know that this car was defected and was in an accident, the dealer told me that there was no history on the car.i know there is, and possibly an accident recorded.please let me know.thank you very much.

My a/c knobs keep falling off and breaking, and this is also not under warranty, so at my cost they have been replaced twice. A recent problem the windshield wiper washer hose located on the outside of the wind well was frozen, and now is broken due to the inclementweatherfroze up.last month the hose snapped in two pieces. I have also contacted the dealership where purchased for a owners manual and still have not received one.i just found out that these cars where recalled in 94 and 95 .and i was not told at time of purchase. I am wandering if the car was checked out for these recalled matters. I think that there are more problems with this vechicle than what i was told at time of purchase. During vehicle operation. The air conditioner and headlights stopped working due to the wire which goes from the battery to the engine compartment fuse box, had melted.
Nhtsa recall 94v090 mfg., 94-01-611; after recall performed, vehicle has serious stalling failures. Charlie thomas hyundai 2 to 3 times have tried to correct.
Air conditioner pulley rubs against the alternator bracket. The spring on the idle was loose. Had noticed sparks coming from the alternator bracket.

Consumer expperiencing ongoing problem with vehicle timing chain breaking on three occasions. Owner's manual stated timing chain should be replaced every 60,00 miles. ; timing chain has broken at 30,000; 50,000 and now at 82,000. Dealer / mfr. Notified.
Timing belt failed.
The pistonsare cracked, causing the motor to lock up. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for repair. The owner has notified the manufacturer about the problem.
I feel that the engine in this car was defective and should have lasted more than 52,000 mile. The car was well maintained and was under the mileage it is warranteed for.

When driving at any speed there is a loud noise coming from the front of the vehicle when pulling off and when driving slow. In addition, the windshield wipers on the passenger's side don't work. Also, hazard lights don't work, and the headlights aren't bright enough, causing the cosnumer to have problems with seeing at night.

Driver's door inside plastic handle has broken off, can't open door from inside or out. Manufacturerindicated that vehicle was no longer under warranty, owner must repair at own expense, not fixed.
