Takata recall the operator of the 2013 hyundai elantra when another vehicle attempted to make a left hand turn from the right lane and struck the vehicle. The vehicle was hit in the front right side and forcibly pushed into the street curb. This resulted in significant front end damage and the suspension of all four tires. The driver was injured and required medical attention on the scene. The driver's head impacted the driver's window, due to the failure of the side airbag to deploy, resulting in significant bruising and a serious concussion. The driver required medical attention in the emergency room. Driver was diagnosed with a concussion and upon further care a traumatic brain injury. The driver has sustained vision loss and hearing loss/tinnitus requiring hearing aids.the accident occurred on a city street while the hyundai was in motion headed straight at approximately 20-25 mph. The at fault vehicle, a full size ford suv was driving in excess of the speed limit at approximately 40 mph. The accident was witnessed by the city of portland fire engine company and rescue team. A police report was filed. Approximately $6,000 in damages occurred. The vehicle was taken to the hyundai dealership for further diagnostics at a rate of $128 per hour and was quoted at least 2.5 hours to assess the vehicle. The vehicle has only 44,000 miles and has been maintained as scheduled.

The engine needed to be replaced at approx 62,000 miles.i believe this vehicle should have been included with the larger hyundai/kia engine recall.it took 2 months to get a new engine since they are on back order.

This has not happened yet, but it will, and to hundreds of thousands of other 1.8l engines. Why have you not recalled the hyundai 1.8l nu engines used in the kia forte and hyundai elantra's (all trims and levels from 2011-2016). This engine has the same issues as the 2.0l and 2.4l engines, and more 1.8l engines were sold than the 2.0l and 2.4l engines combined. My engine is now experiencing 'rod-knock' and since i am the second owner and my car only has 80000 miles, hyundai will not repair or replace the engine, even though its a known manufacturing defect. You can find thousands of complaints of this engine on various car forums and consumer report websites, yet you fail to address the issue and make it public.

Cpsc:purchased sylvania h11 silverstar bulb replacement for car headlight that shortly after turning headlight on exploded in my face during installation in walmart parking lot leaving very painful burns stinging and bleeding from glass shard lacerations to eye, face and hand then had intense headache nosebleed not well feeling in general....ringing in ears and burns continue to be extremely painful next day though bleeding has stopped. Noticed the sidewall of the tire has a bulge on it, did not hit any potholes or anything.have been reading many are having the same issues with the 17" tires on this car.

The front passenger side tire has blown out twice in the past year. The car was parked, and when i started the car and started driving the low tire light came on. After stopping to get air i discovered the tire was completely flat, and i had been driving on a flat tire. Both times the rim was also bent and had to be sent to a shop to repair it (more money and more time away from my car and paying for a rental car). It was the same exact situation both times. I didn't hit anything or run over anything. In total, this is the fourth or fifth time i have had to replace this tire during the duration of the car's life, and it has never been due to hitting anything or running over anything. It just mysteriously happens. I purchased the car new in oct 2012 and there are currently about 57000 miles on the car. This is a major inconvenience in terms of cost and time, but even more importantly, i constantly fear and dreadfully anticipate the next time i will have a flat and never feel completely safe when driving. I have read online that the use of 17" wheels on this car is not appropriate, and i would like for this to be looked into, as no one with this problem has been able to get any help from hyundai. Thank you.

After watching a news story about a woman trapped in her trunk by a thief - she eventually used the emergency trunk release pull to open trunk and jump free. Looking for the trunk emergency unlock latch and can't find one.... Thought this was mandatory??

Frequently tireside walls bulge and cracks. Cannot see as the problem found inside and problem indicated by low tirepressure warning in dash board. Service dealer concluded tire damages from pot holes. First two damages occurred at11557 and 13116 miles. Third and fourthtime damages took place at42244and 45634 miles. During first time failure, contacted hyundai customer service and on their advise contacted nexentire manufacturer. They informed tire damage might be from pot holes. Service dealer also concludethe same.on 12-30-17 contacted hyundai corporate service and they said to contact nexen. This is a serious safety issue and need attention

Water leaking from a/c box through the ventilation fan on the passenger side. Website reserch revealed that this isue is becoming a regular problem for hyundays and the owners cannot anything to avoid this problem. Therefore, becoming a manufacturer defect and should be prevented by manufacturing proper ac drainage systems.

I recently had to replace an original equipment tire because of a bulge in the sidewall. I had the service done at my dealers, from whom i bought the car new in november 2012. It is a 2013 hyundai elantra gt with less than 15,000 miles.the dealer kindly checked with you and was told that it did not qualify for any replacement credit. They showed me the current warranty information which specifically lists 'bulge' as a road hazard not covered.however, i am attaching a copy of the warranty received with the car and you will note that 'bulge' is not included in the exclusions. It appears that the frequency of 'bulges' became so great that you found it necessary to include them in your exclusion list.

Driving about 60 miles a hour then the highway declined an elevation. Then a shattering sound happened and notice the cracks on the sunroof . The whole sunroof was shattered. I immediately cover the sunroof.

I have replaced four tires on this vehicle due to sidewall-related damage.in the first incident (the one detailed in the metadata above), the tire blew out completely, causing the vehicle to lose control.in the other three incidents, sidewall bubbles developed requiring the tire to be replaced.forums on the internet are listing over 100 customers with this same issue; it seems to be an engineering defect relating to the size of the tire (and its low-profile nature) and the stiffness of the front suspension.i drive the same roads in two other vehicles (so hitting the same potholes and bumps), and have driven over 750,000 miles without a single blowout or impact-related damage; on this vehicle, i have had four destroyed tires in seven months and 7,200 miles of vehicle ownership.

I purchased a 2013 hyundai elantra gt with the stock (upgraded as part of hyundai's 'style' package) 17-inch rims and stock "nexen" brand 215/45-17 tires on march 2nd, 2015.only an hour later, the front driver's side tire had a bubble on it from hitting a very small and shallow pothole at a low rate of speed.the following morning, at the same rate of speed the front passenger side tire had a blowout, also after hitting a small, very shallow pothole.the rear tires have no damage as of yet.in only 2 days i will have to have replaced 2 tires.i looked this up online and found that it is a very common occurrence, reported by dozens of people, especially with these size rims (although others have reported it happening with the stock 16-inch rims and stock "hankook" brand tires.hyundai denies any fault on their part and will not cover wheels/tires without an optional protection plan.i have had to order brand-new 16-inch rims and 16-inch tires of a better brand/quality at my own expense out of fear for my safety while driving this vehicle.the fact that hyundai provides these wheels/tires when buying a car is beyond me, as they must have had complaints of this nature before and it is hard to believe that they are not aware of these safety issues.i have heard it may have to do with the weight of the vehicle (as well as the heavy weight distributed to the front wheels), the extremely stiff and rigid suspension, rims that are too big for this vehicle, and low-quality stock tires.please look into this complaint before someone gets hurt or killed due to this glaring defect.better to stop it now before injuries, deaths, and a class-action lawsuit occur.thank you for investigating this complaint.if you are looking to buy a hyundai, be aware of this issue and please consider the safety of you and your family first before buying.

Noticed the sidewall of the driver side front tire has a golf ball size bulge on it, did not hit any potholes or anything. Have been reading many are having the same issues with the 17" tires on this hyundai elentra gt touring car.need to open an investigation or start inquiry withcar or tire manufacturing company before it becomes ford mid suv issue few years back and finger pointing starts........
