The contact owns a 2018 hyundai elantra gt. The contact stated while attempting to shut-off vehicle, the infotainment system remained activated which resulted in a check battery light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to carolina hyundai of high point (2431 n main st, high point, nc 27262, (336) 884-7000) but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was then taken to first team hyundai (6520 peters creek rd, roanoke, va 24019, (540)362-4800) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
After switching engine off, some electrical (maybe ignition) remains on which sometimes drains battery. This issue has always occurred upon shutting car off.
I was driving on a the interstate going 75 mph when i heard a loud thumping noise from the front right side, i lost power steering, power brakes and the car shut off. I had to struggle to maneuver and stop the car to the emergency lane. It was then towed to the dealer that discovered the timing chain failed. The timing chain also damaged other internal parts throwing fluid throughout the engine and causing metal shards from other internal components. The car has 32k miles and less than 3 years old.
I bought a 2018 hyundaigt sport 3 months ago. Since day one car has been stalling and having a hard time starting. I was on the highway doing 75mphand the car just turned off no warning. I called the dealer in my area let them know about the starting issues and the stalling issues with the car i took it in to them few days later. They kept it for 3 days and told me sorry we do not know what to tell you.took it home and that day the car stalled on my way home. I took the car back to the dealer and they had it for 23 days and replaced the fuel pump and the injection system and still did not work. The dealer i bought it from replaced the battery, keys starter and alternator before i bought it and they did not tell me this car was having issues. The car is back at the dealer 3/7/2019 with stalling issues and rust build up on the bottom of the car. I have a case with hyundai and they keep telling me take it to another dealer 4 dealers later and nothing.check engine light came on flashing one day but went off and no codes found.this has been going on for about 21/2 months car is out of service now for a total of 26 days now including the days its been at the current dealer.
Car shut off while on the highway randomly started shaking. All lights turned on check engine,motor oil light battery light. Car shut off to the point where i couldn't accelerate. So imagine being on the highway and your car shuts off randomly while your in motion and cant accelerate to merge to the emergency lane. This happened 4 more times on my way to the dealership less then 800 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lighting area of the headlights is much too low. You can not see very well the area in front of you. See the attached image of a group of girls on the sidewalk. You can barely see them from the waist or knees down.
When driving at night with the low beam headlights, there is very a distinct shadow in front of car. It is very distracting and dangerous.
I have the sport model of the elantra gt with the full led headlights and there are moon shaped shadows within the headlight pattern that are very distracting while driving at night.
While on highway car motor stopped working could not get car to turn back on. This happened on a busy highway. After 8 days in dealership so far received a call saying the cars fuel pump may be the problem

18000 miles on the car started hearing air come from the brake pedal. Took it to the dealer who informed me that the brake booster was faulty no recall on the 2018 elantra gt but there is on the 2017. Car loosing power and slipping transmission. Dealer was planning to charge for the inspection of a warrantied vehicle and it ended up with a braking system issue?
The aeb system does not show any warnings or attempt to stop the car. I do not drive around trying to make this feature work but after getting the new car i did realize it was not detecting anything while my other car detects and stops fine in the same scenario.i have gone to the hyundai service center where i purchased the car about this as well as submitted a case with hyundai corporate. Corporate response was: go back to the service center again and tell them what my concern is (again). So, i did.hyundai says they will not test the issue and since the computer says there is no issue... There is no problem with the feature. I have made a video of this issue and posted to hyundai facebook and got no response. I am concerned as well as frustrated with the lack of attention from hyundai for this safety feature on my car.i have read the manual, confirmed the settings and requirements for this feature to work and it simply does not work on my car and for hyundai to tell me they will not test it and there is no problem because the computer says their is no problem is sad.

Gas tank indicator arrow on dash points to wrong side of car. Points to passenger side, should point to driver side.

My car, with less than 4k, has a "spontaneous" windshield crack that is large, long and travels across my line of vision which is a safety issue. Nothing hit the windshield, it is parked is locked garage and i did not drive over rough terrain, hit a pothole, drive under any bridges or park under a tree. I didn't drive on a highway either. I just got in my car and there it was! this crack is growing in length and i have noticed some black, foam trim curling up along the edge of where the windshield meets the hood. There is no visible point of contact that i can see, no chips, no star burst chip - just smooth on the outside and inside of car. There is also some strange splatter marks on the inside of the window as if a small carbonated beverage was shaken up. Opened & sprayed on it but the spots are hard & can't be easily scraped off. I will be contacting the dealership to see if they will replace it as i do believe this is a manufacturing defect.
Tire: hankook ventus s1 noble 2.size: 225/40r18 88w. Abnormal cracks all around the circumference of outer sidewall of oem tire first noticed at 17k miles. Tires have 22k miles now. New port richey hyundai inspected all four tires and spoke to hankook and are aware of the nhtsa recall for the same brand and model tire with exactly the same discrepancy but different size and will not replace them. Hyundai said hankook may offer to replace only if i pay a prorated amount. Tires are oem installed on my 2018 hyundai elantra gt sport. Vehicle is garaged daily, no dangerous driving, or passenger or cargo weight in excess loaded while stationary or when driving.
