I was driving approximately 20mph when i heard a breaking noise from underneath my 2010 hyundai accent when i lost steering power, the brakes didn't work and the accelerator as well. This caused me to lose control of my car resulting in me crashing into another parked vehicle. Thank god it wasn't on a hwy going 65-70 mph. I see there aren't any recalls on any of the mentioned problems. Also to note i had to replace a coil pack that i read another owner had problems and the airbag light came on and i'm thinking there's also a problem with that too. Thanks hyundai for not keeping your consumers safe. How many people have to die in accidents cause of manufacture defects before they investigate and issue a recall. I will never purchase another hyundai. Buyer be warned!
The break lights are notilluminating. I was not notified of any recall on my car after purchase and i don't think it was ever repaired. My air bag light iscontinuously on even though diagnostics have been ran and no code comes up.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. The contact stated that the brake light failed to illuminate when the service brake was depressed. The contact replaced the brake light switch and the vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact mentioned that the passenger seat would not detect when an occupant was in the seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the seat occupant sensor mat would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,500.
Takata recall: i was driving slowly in the rain when some cars in front of me started to stop. I slowed down but as i hit the breaks the car didn't respond. I pressed the pedal more and nothing happened, then it went down all the way. I moved the steering wheel to the right to prevent a crash but it still happened. My car is a total loss. My airbags didn't go off either and i had no break light indicating that my breaks would fail or that they were faulty.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. The contact stated that the front passenger air bag warning light illuminated constantly whether a person was occupying the seat or not. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times for the failure where they replaced the air bag sensor however, the light continued to illuminate. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 27,460.
Was involved in a front-end collision on february 12, 2016, the driver's side airbag failed to deploy. The car's history indicated no prior accidents or airbag deployment. The car was in motion (55 mph) and driving straight on a state highway. The other vehicle entered an intersection without looking, and the hyundai hit it broadside at full speed, as there was minimal stopping time.
Airbag warning light keeps coming on. After taking it to the dealership no error codes populated, but the late came back on two weeks later. Dealership cannot find any issues. I've seen past complaints of this in similar model cars, however hyundai will not cover due to warranty being expired.
I have the very basic model of the 2010 hyundai accent. As i was driving down the road a woman was nice enough to stop me and tell me my brake lights weren't on, so i pulled over and tried testing it out to see what she was talking about, every time i stepped on the breaks none of the lights came on. I went home and had my step dad take a look but nothing in the fuses were lose and none of the bulbs were burnt out, so we did some research online and noticed that hyundai sent out a safety recall "hyundai is recalling 1,059,824 vehicles, including the 2007-'09 hyundai accent, because of roll away risk and brake lights that may not illuminate.." i am more than sure this is effecting my car as well.
While my vehicle was in motion, driving straight after 2 right turns, after approximately 5 minutes of driving, a thin wisp of smoke rose up from my steering column, or near my steering column, on the left side. From my general google research, this appears to be an electrical problem.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. While driving at various speeds, all the interior and exterior lights on the vehicle failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 13v113000 (exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the vin was not included. The failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the ignition, battery and problems with stalling. The dealer performed a diagnostic that located the failures at the battery cable, the ignition wiring system and the front suspension was corroded. In addition, the engine oil container and starter motor connector was also corroded. The dealer replaced the battery cable and several other unknown parts but the failure was not corrected and the vehicle continued to stall. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 1,200 and the current mileage was 3,000. Kmj
I took the car to have the brakes done. The shop did an inspection and found all brake lights not workingtracing it to the brake light pedal switch. I contacted hyundai and they stated the 2010 accent was not part of the recall campaign but 2009 are, even though it is the same part? i took it to my hyundai dealer and they replaced the defective switch with the new revised switch, since the old switches are shown to fail prematurely. I would advise any owner of a hyundai or kia to either have the switch replaced or check it weekly until the part is put on the recall campaign. This could be a serious hazard to you, your passengers and other cars on the road behind you.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. The contact stated that the tail lights, hazard lights, and turn signal lights failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that there was no fault code from the diagnostic test. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v566000 (exterior lighting). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,001.
I believe that there is a problem with the cars main computer. Apparently my car ran out of oil and the indicator light merely flickered at me a few times and then went out. Had to have vehicle towed to shop when it stalled, no codes found in the computer. Shop changed oil. Engine was reported as noisy upon delivery but noise gone after oil change. Shop decided the issue was lack of oil. Two days later check engine light comes on and tachometer would not function. Dealership misrepresented issue on paperwork as stalled engine, i was simply afraid to drive it with the tach not functioning and the check engine light on given issue 2 days prior. Issue with vehicle crank sensor found. No mention of codes showing or not on the dealership paperwork. I was told no codes were found. Today, oil indicator light flickered again. Would not stay on. Upon my inspection there was no oil. I refilled oil, and it began to leak. Tried local mechanic and they advised do not drive, but could not take vehicle. Called roadside assistance, no word yet on newest issue. The only indicators that seem to work are for the tire pressure monitoring system. Client who is mechanic claims the main system and tpms are completely separate. Poor design of engine information. Only meters are speed and tachometer. Customer must rely on computer to show indicators if there is an issue. This cars' oil indicator is malfunctioning. Wonder what other indicators are malfunctioning.
The brake lamp switch became defective intermittently, approximately 10,000 miles ago.it has now failed completely.apparently i am not the only one experiencing this problem: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/04/03/hyundai-kia-recalling-1-6m-more-models-for-faulty-brake-switch/this is a serious problem, so i wanted you to know.
I stopped at a red light and the engine stopped and would not restart.. The electrical system was still working and the flashers operated, but the engine would not start. I removed the key and reinstalled it and tried to start the auto with no results. I'm setting in a major intersection with a stalled auto. I'm in a very unsafe situation and could get killed by passing auto's. This is the second time this has happened to me with this auto. The only way you can restart the auto is to use jumper cables, than everything is back to normal.
My brake lights are all out.all 3.i did some research and found that some cars up until 2009 were recalled for a faulty brake light switch.i am fearful i could put myself or others in harms way.this is a definite safety issue with this vehicle.i am not sure if there are currently other reports but i am doing so now.i am taking it to the dealership asap to have it evaluated.a technician has already troubleshooted replacing the bulbs and still not working.he believes it is the switch.this was stated prior to me doing research about a potential issue with hyundai's brake light switch.
On march after leaving my daughter's house my son noticed that my daughter's 2010 hyundai accents brakes lights and 3rd light weren't working . The next day my son and i decided to check the fuse box. We changed the 15 amp fuse even though the original one didn't seem broken.after that we againtried the brake light and 3rd and again it didn't work.i'm at my wits end with this 2010 hyundai accentbecause all i seem to have is problems. Before 3 coil wires had to be replaced. The first 2 hyundai replaced the wires butbefore replacing the 3rd coil wire the service manager said that he couldn't replacethe 3rd coilwire because hyundai said that i had to replace the spark plugs first. Which i feel is crazy.buti hadthe car in the shop(hyundai) and replaced the plugs. I feel hyundai knew about this problem as well as the current brake problem and this should be a recall on this brake light problem.
No complaint about airbag but had to put an engine in twice over 2 years
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. While driving 5 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, while driving on an incline, the engine misfired and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,426.
My car just stopped on me while driving so put a used engine in from ebay and a couple years later that one died on me while on the highway. I believe the pistons blew out the back

The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. When operating the vehicle, the check engine indicator would remain illuminated and the vehicle would hesitate and vibrate. On several occasions, the vehicle stalled. The local dealer (sterling hyundai of lafayette, 5001 johnson st, lafayette, la) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000.
The ignition cables and spark plugs are faulty and had to be replaced just after 60,000 miles.i was driving and suddenly my check engine light started flashing, my car was shaking, and not shifting past first gear. Had it towed to a mechanic. They said the ignition cables and spark plugs were faulty. They had seen this on hyundai's before.
Car stopped running. Timing belt broke resulting in ruined engine requiring full engine replacement. Mileage was 63k.
Icontinually noticed that the air vents express a very smelly odor.whether it is the air conditioner or the heater- makes no difference. Went to the dealer and they said it was the air conditioner residue and to run my fan on vent to get rid of the moisture buildup.i have done this for a couple weeks now and they still smell like mold and mildew- i have only had this car for 60 days and can't get rid of the smell. I have allergies and this is a real problem for me. I have had many cars over the years and never experienced this every happening with the air condition in a vehicle.have there been any complaints of this problem?is there warranty coverage for this or do i need to go back to the dealership and lodge a complaint to get rid of the car?

About the cooling system of the engine, how i can follow up the engine temp. Without temp.gauge this bad design ,it should wait until the engine close to burning until the alarm indicator displayed.so, we need solution from the owner about this problem.thanks,
Car just lost power while in stop and go traffic going 10 miles an hour. Had to put in park and restart it, and check engine light came on.
Brake lights not working. Appears to be problem with brake light switch which has been recalled for other year models.
My wife left for work tuesday morning and during her commute the headlights went out, both high and low beams quit. She probably panicked a little but discovered she could pull the turn signal lever in which caused the high beam lights to work. She got to work that way and last night i looked at it. No blown fuses or bulbs. I tested the headlight bulbs and they worked.i have an appointment for friday to have it fixed. I suggested to the dealer that he should not ask me to pay for it, we'll see what happens. If you search the internet for my problem you will find many more people who've had the same problem. This should be dealt with by the manufacturer and fixed before someone dies from it. If an accident does happen the proof of electrical failure will be destroyed by front end damage.thank you

2010 hyundai accent rear brake lights and the rear windshield brake light do not light up when i press on the pedal. I noticed that there are a couple of complaints on for the same issue. I replaced the fuses, the bulbs, and they still do not work. I researched this and hyundai has 4 consecutive years 2006-2009 where there is a malfunctioning brake light switch issue. I believe this issue has not been resolved and i plan on letting the dealer know this when i go there tomorrow. I feel this is a major safety issue and they should replace this free of charge given the history of this. I also tried contacting hyundai directly and said unless there is a recall there is nothing they can do about this. Stated dealers are independent and i would have to talk to dealer about resolving this issue.
While driving at normal operating speed, i was alerted by another motorist that my brake lights weren't working.i replaced the brake light switch and that fixed the problem.while researching the issue, i noticed a recall of hyundai accents for the years prior to 2010, but the recall did not include 2010s.i verified with the dealer that i had no open recalls, so i replaced the part at my own expense.it seems the brake light switches are still not reliable in these cars.

The tail lights, brake lights, and the third rear light stopped working. I checked all the fuses, and the were fine. My boyfriend was helping, and found that the brake pedal was a little sticky. As he was looking around the brake switch, he giggled it and the brake lights started working. I went online and found that a lot of people were complaining of this same problem, and that the 2010 was not included in the recall for this same issue. I would like to know if it's going to take a death from this to get the 2010 added to the recall list. I ride with my children in my car all the time. Now i'm not so sure i even want to keep the car let alone have my children ride in the thing.... Updated 03/19/15...updated 03/31/15updated 9/22/2017
My hyundai accent model year 2010 had an issue where the brake lights went out completely.model years 2007-2009 are under an active recall for the brake light switch and my car had the same problem.i called hyundai and they advised the switch is different but the data i can find shows the same fault exists in the 2010 as well.this is a safety issue hyundai is refusing to fix...the nhtsa needs to investigate and expand the recall to other model years.

I had to have stop lamp switch replaced may 14,2013
As i was stopped in a line of cars to drop my daughter off at school a woman tapped on my window and told me that i have no brake lights and that she almost rear-ended me because of it.i went home and checked the fuses and the bulbs; all were fine.after some online research i learned that there could be a problem with the brake light switch which is located near the brake pedal.when i contacted hyundai customer service i was told that my make/model/year was not covered by a recall affecting the brake light switch.
Preparing to make a right turn i notice when i press on my brakes my signal would stop blinking. Brakes and signal do not work together anymore. Sonow i can not signal my intention and brake at the same time. I read that there was a recall on brake lamp switch but not for 2010. So the issue still a problem for 2010 accent....
Car had a light ticking sound for days off and on ......was driving down road and car starting revving up driving on it's own. Tried to apply brakes would not stop tried to shut car down wouldn't let me. Got car into neutral then applied brakes got car to stop and off road. Waited till i regained composure started car and it sounded fine. Started down rd again drove about 4 miles and went to pull into hess station did again and almost shot us through front of store. This time it sounded as though pieces were being shattered inside engine....got out of car and checked under hood and under car nothing visible of what was wrong. It was late night so i just wanted to make it home.....tried once more it happened a third time....was mile from home so i drove it again to make it....next day we drove it to dealership. They took it for test drive said it was throttle body. We complained that was not covered under extended warranty so they took it out again to see if might be something else...this time for them car went to 4 rpms and wouldn't go downso gave use loaner car......said they would put us in different car or fix it. Took us to used car lot to get another car then because of credit said no....we are a elderly couple with disabilities and the only car they offered us back in july 2014 was this 2 dr that tried to kill us.....we wanted a 4 dr car not a lil sporty we couldn't get in and out of the back seat! can anyone help us????? now that it was repaired the next day it is making so much noise i'm afraid to drive it........help please!i haven't gone to get that checked out yet but i will today! please post for other drivers to be aware of these cars......
When filling up with gas gets near full and pump shuts off but gas spurts out of filler tube every time i fill up just bought this vehicle on june 4th 2013.

As soon as i got on the freeway, the steering wheel, brake, and accelerator locked up.i managed to make it down the ramp to the side of the freeway. I put on the emergency brake because, the car kept rolling.i attempted to turn the car off but, the key was stuck in the ignition.the car was still on.i managed to get the key out and waited a few minutes then i restarted the car.i drove to the nearest exit and when i got off the freeway, it happened again in the left turn lane so, i could not get over.i waited and restarted the car like before.i parked and let the car run for a few minutes.since then it has not happened but, this is a 2010 hyundai accent (hatchback) and i bought it not even 3 weeks prior to this incident.i took it back to the dealership and they could not find out what was wrong with it. They told me because they could not duplicate the problem, they were chasing a ghost and could not help me.i asked what if it happens again and leads to an accident.i was told they can't help me with that question because they could not find a problem in the car. They returned the car to me with nothing fixed and no answers.i do not know what lead up to this problem.i have not crashed or damaged this car in any way.if the dealership does not know what is wrong and how to keep this from happening again, how am i supposed to feel safe driving this car?

Brake lights not working. Appears to be problem with brake light switch which has been recalled for other year models.
The visor on the driver side broke and just hangs there.the brakes now on three different occasions have failed to stop the car at slow speeds.when the brake is pressed it feels as though they are crumbling.and the car jerks around.has been brought back to the dealership twice to be told that its just what anti lock brakes do.i have never had that happen on any other car i have owned with antilock brakes.i will never own anotherhyundai again, nor will i ever buy anything from that dealership.

From the day i purchased this vehicle (may 21,12) each and every morning when i first apply the brakes they lock up. It so far has never happened any other time. It has been checked by dealer and no problems have been found. I am now in the process of video taping this and bringing it in to show them. It had 30,600 miles when i purchased it. There was one time when i applied the brakes and it didn't stop,i attributed this to my being tired, now i am not so sure. The one thing i do know is not having faith in your brakes is a major problem.
Hyundai brake recall. Nothing has happened as of yet but i need the issue corrected to prevent any issues.

Brake lights are not functioning.recall is listed for this vehicle from 2007 - 2009; however, hyundai is not acknowledging the safety issue in the 2010 model.

I was approaching a line of cars stopped at a red light and it was raining. When i applied my brakes the rear wheels of my anti-lock brake system failed and the rear wheels locked up. I slid out of control into the rear of the car in front of me.
The break lights are notilluminating. I was not notified of any recall on my car after purchase and i don't think it was ever repaired. My air bag light iscontinuously on even though diagnostics have been ran and no code comes up.
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. When the turn signal was activated and the brake pedal was depressed, the signal light went off without warning. As a result, the driver was pulled over by the police. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who performed a recall repair on the vehicle. The failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and simply took notes. The failure mileage was 83,000. The vin was not provided.
My hyundai is new with only 7k miles. Brakes repeatedly grind with a crunching noise in snowy conditions to point where i have difficulty stopping vehicle. Pulls to right and steering wheel shakes to point where you can see it moving from a distance. Feels like pedal is locking and brakes are not working properly making vehicle very unsafe. I've been driving for over 35 years and owned many different vehicles and have never experienced anything like this in a braking system.hyundai dealership claims *normal* for a hyundai however i test drove another new accent this morning to compare under the exact same road conditions and it did not shake, grind, pull to the right like mine does and it stopped when i applied the brakes.i drove all over the lot to try and get it make noise or fail to stop but it felt perfect.i again got back into my car and my car again shook, grinded and did not stop near as quickly as the other accent yet service manager denies there was any difference.if i get in an accident because i was not able to stop, i am suing the dealership.dealership is taylor hyundai in perrysburg, ohio.
Purchased a new 2010 hyundai accent 11/17/09 in jan. And feb. 2010 when snow was on the ground the brakes would thud or grind and not stop the car. I called rick case hyundai and they said that's what abs brakes do try and pump them when stopping. At this time there was only 250 mls on the car. This also happens when it rain and roads are really wet. On 6/14/10 i took my car in for another manufacture defect and described the problem with the brakes and was told that's normal. On 1/23/2011 my daughter was driving down mayfield rd down the big hill and got a speeding ticket going 68 miles per hr. In a 45 mile zone. She said when she noticed the car was going 50 to 55 she tried to slow down and the brakes wouldn't work until she got to the bottom of the hill. There wasn't any snow on the road but it was wet and salted and 0 outside. She no longer drives the car when it snows or rains or when the roads are wet, and this is her car. A few days later my son borrowed the car for work and when he brought it back he said he was almost in a accident because the brakes wouldn't stop the car. He described it as thudding like the brakes were trying to catch but couldn't and steering wheel shakes, the car went about 12 feet before it stopped and 2 inches from hitting the car in front of him. I took the car over to a friend who drove it and he said this is not normal take it in. I called rick case on 1/31/11 and took it in on 2/4/11 to check the brakes and replace the inside drivers side door panel that snapped off. Rick case didn't find anything wrong with the brakes but, rotated the tires because the front tires tred low and this could be the problem. At this time there is 10,375 miles on the car. 2/18/11 took to put new panel on and told them still having same problem with the brakes but now braking you sometime here a high pitched squeal. Tested brakes for abs error codes on computer found none. This is a very serious problem does someone have to die before investigated. *ln
The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph and attempting to slow down, the vehicle went over a bump and would not stop. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer three times but the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The failure mileage was 23,828.
Not sure of the exact date or mileage i just know i bought the 2010 hyundai accent in july of 2011. I immediately noticed in the mornings while backing out of my driveway and driving not even half a mile to the stop sign to get onto the highway when i barely tap on my brakes it feels as if you're going to go through the windshield. The brakes are over sensitive but only in the mornings or when it hasn't been driven in at least 8 hours. After about 5 minutes it smoothes out but it really could be a safety issue. Luckily i live in a small town with not too much traffic so when this does happen it's rarely around anyone so they won't eat my bumper (crash into bumper). I've had it looked at and they say everything looks fine and without being able to duplicate it they cannot do anything more. The brakes at times squeal too but that too smoothes out most of the time.
I have a 2010 hyundai accent that i purchased aug 2010. Just recently about a month ago i notice when i get in the car in the morning and i come to a stop while going out of the parking lot and putting on brakes the brakes sound like they are squeaking or rubbing. Also when putting on brakes they seem to have a sudden stop where you feel like the car is jerking. This happens every time i get in the car and take off. Also if i go 65 to 70 mph the steering wheel will began to shake. When getting on the freeway the car also seems to have a slow take off for at least 1 mile.
Purchased approx aug 10 2011 from carmax. Noticed vibration or shudder from steering wheel in park and idling, more pronounced on right side of engine, right side of car into back seat. Some vibration and shudder while decelerating at speed and around 20 mph.took the car to hyundai around september 2011.they claimed the car had 4 motor mounts (engine and trans i assume) and that 2 of the mounts were bad. At different times they described the mounts as "broken", "cracked", and "stretched".they installed the two mounts (lower front and back location to me) calling them "revised". I asked to see the bad mounts but they did not show them to me. The repair reduced the side vibration by about 90% but the vibration was still there. The steering wheel vibration is unchanged. I immediately took it back to the dealer and also to . Both service managers and technicians said the remaining vibration is "normal" (their words) but they put down on the repair sheet that the vibration was gone which was not true. I told them the vibration is not normal especially for a brand new car that costs over $12,000.they said all hyundai 4 cylinders have the same vibration. The vibration remains. I have read online two hyundai technicians who claim the vibration could be caused by defective upper engine mount, loose timing chain or belt, defective harmonic balancer. I have seen this week a video on the hyundai sonata and its vibration; my car makes the same vibration and noise, almost like one of the plugs is missing. (i had an engine diagnosis and it said all electrical is ok; no check engine codes are showing). I have also read about the september 26 recall of the hyundai sonata for vibration problems. I think the 2010 hyundai should also face recall since the dealer has admitted the vibration.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

There have been 2 repairs for steering alignment but the hyundai dealerships cant correct the issue. My steering whhel is misaligned
My son was driving at around 30 mph on a 2 lane city street when the steering unit gave out and he almost lost control of the car.looking under the car he noticed that the steering fluid was pouring out the rack and pinion gear box.i do understand that the car has over 100k miles on it and it more than 5 yrs old. However i have owned many cars within my lifetime and never had this issue - ever. Yet-i did notice on the nhstawebsite that there was another hyundai accent owner with same model year ( 2010 )who lodged a similar complaint.and knowing that both the elantra's and sonta's have had similar issues with their steering components around the same time frame make me suspect that there is something more going on.i think- this should be investigated by the nhsta.
The 2010 accent has a defect that will wear out the inside of the front tires in a short period of time.

Kmj
Unsafe hyundai manufacturer defect. Better business bureau auto line arbitrator arthur c. Devine has determined that hyundai has manufacturer defect of motor mounts. Documents to the arbitrator indicate this is an unsafe condition in that the suspension could separate from the vehicle. Hyundai is? not safe. The bbb claim is hyu1216311. From a may 12 hearing the problem results in an unrepaired constant vibration throughout the passenger compartment with the car idling in park. All hyundai models should face recall for this dangerous condition. Hyundai officials have refused to fix the condition, motor mounts, and suspension, claiming the unsafe vehicle is "normal" and "operating as designed." other online reports support that claim that the suspension is not securely bolted to the body. See http://www.hyundai-blog.com/2012-hyundai-accent-debuts-as-verna-compact-sedan. See http://www.slideshare.net/kefferhyndai/2010-hyundai-accent-keffer-hyundai-in-matthews-nc. Hyundai officials have also refused to issue their engineer vibrometer and accelerometer tests on the passenger compartment. Arbitration decision issued may 24 2012.

The visor broke and fell while i was driving. This is a visibility hazard and i am not mechanically inclined. In my research i've found this is common in certain hyundai vehicles.why is this not on your recall list?
My daughter's car engine shuts down when she is driving in the street.the car was taken on august 17, 2016, to hyundai dealership and we were told that it was the fuel pump and sensor.it was replaced and they charged us $800.the next day the car stopped in the middle of the street.the engine shut down.now, the dealership is replacing the camshaft sensors with no guarantee that this is the problem.this presents a safety issue as the car shuts down whiledriving in the streets or highway.it can cause an accident.
The 2010 accent has a defect that will wear out the inside of the front tires in a short period of time.
The sun visor does not stay in the upright position or the engaged lowered position, falling straight down into the vision field.the lower corner of the visor has to be anchored in the clip attached to the roof to keep it from falling down. So the visor is unusable.

The contact owns a 2010 hyundai accent. The contact stated that the cruise control feature caused erratic engine rpms while driving above 55 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that this was normal operating procedure for the vehicle. The contact also stated that the cruise control caused the vehicle to use more fuel than usual. The failure mileage was 1,300 and the current mileage was 4,700.
Driving down the highway 49, started to take an exit into town. The car wouldn't slow down, tapped the brake, but the rpm kept revving up. I placed my foot on the brake but the car wouldn't slow. I came off the off ramp at 60 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour street. Continued pressing on the brake, when i attemptedto lift my foot the car would go faster. Knew i couldn't make it through the stop light was able to turn onto a side street shifted the car into park and turned the car off.
Sun visor attachment is cheap plastic and broke off- is now difficult to see while driving in sunny weather.
The driver's side visor fell on my head while i was driving on the highway.the piece that holds the visor up is broken and the visor continues to fall while i am driving, entering my view of the road or hitting me.
The sun visors break at the hinge and drop down in front of the driver's face obstructing view. I have owned 1 elantra and 2 accents since 2005.hyundai refuses to deal with this.
As i am driving south on us 19 clearwater florida doing 45-50mph for no apparent reason my sun visor flipped down without warning surprising and startling me blocking my vision!! i tried to reposition the visor but it remained limp just tangling in my line of vision.
While driving on the freeway, the driver's side sun visor suddenly fell down and blocked all visibility. The sun visor will no longer stay up and dangled above the steering wheel until i removed it. A cheap plastic part broke inside causing it to fall, startling me and nearly causing an accident.
Sun visor broke on the drivers side. The post fell out and is dangling by the cable. The lip on the post that holds in place crumbled.
I simply pulled the sun visor down, it made a strange noise and will no longer stay up, greatly impairing/obstructing the view out the windshield. The light also stopped working. Car is only at 30,000 - always have had routine maintenance.
While driving on highway driver's side sun visor fell off (by itself) and obstructed view nearly causing collision at 65mph. Numerous complaints about this! when will something be done?
While driving in the city my driver's side sun visor fell down right in front of my field of vision.it had to be removed because it would not stay up anymore.
My wife and i both own 2010 hyundai accents, and the visors on both have broken and make visibility while driving very limited. I've tried various methods of keeping it up, but it continues to fall down while i'm driving. The plastic parts that make it swivel up and down, and rotate from the front to the side window break very easily. I decided to file this complaint after reading several other similar experiences online. These parts should be recalled and replaced with something that at least functions the way it should. It's not safe.
Driving 75 mph on the highway, the driver's visor fell into my line of sight, i wasn't using the visor as it was dark making it very hard to see. It's electric so it didn't fall all the way just into my line of vision. I had to hold it in place and move to the side of the road to safely attempt to fix it.
The driver's side visor fell open while i was driving steadily on an interstate.i can no longer get the visor to stay up in the closed position.
Driver side visor fell and hit my head while i was driving on road..it was hanging there and i couldn't see for about 30 seconds until i had to just hold it up with my hand until i got home and could get a scissors to cut the cord that kept it hanging in my face.a few months later the passenger side visor fell.didn't think i should have to pay for this, since it is a safety issue and in 15 minutes i already found 22 other complaints of this on this and other websites.called hyundai customer service and they said a case manager, oscar, would get back to me in 3-5 business days.they wouldn't give me "nationals" phone number, where he works.he never called.again i called customer service, they said, sorry, they would send another email to oscar to call me within 3-5 business days.he never did.i called customer service again.they said oscar usually gets back to people within 1-2 days.then a supervisor changed the storey and said that oscar won't call me until i connect with the dealership to try to get the problem fixed.she said she would contact the dealership and tell them to call me.they never did.i called the dealership a week later.they said the no one ever contacted them (which i don't believe...he didn't even ask my name or anything).he said they don't have anything to do with hyundai besides selling and fixing their cars!this was gladstone hyundai.when pressed, he said sometimes a case manager will call them before the customer comes in to tell them how to resolve the problem.so hyundai national (oscar m) is supposed to call me.
The sun visor broke on the driver's side and dangled by a connecting wire obstructing my view.the lip on the on post that holds it in place broke off and can not be fixed.this was very dangerous and i had to remove the visor from the car.
As i was driving, the driver side visor dislodged from its swivel point obstructing my view and distracted me from driving. Months later, the passenger side has done the same thing. Both now just hang from the wire connecting it to the lighting component. Very dangerous and scary!
A few months ago thevisor in my 2010 hyundai accent on the driver side stopped staying up. I have read multiple complaints on this indicating many are having this problem.
