While driving on the interstate in perfect weather the car suddenly fishtailed and then flipped three times.the driver was thankfully uninjured but the airbags never deployed.in inspecting the car the rear wheels would not move so it was ruled that the brakes seized up.the brakes were not being used when this happened suddenly and out of the blue.
On january 17th my daughter was involved in an accident on interstate 5. She was driving her 2005 hyundai 4 door accentin the rain when a ford explorermerging onto the highway spun out in circles colliding first with another car then hit the accent approximately over the front lft. Headlight. The top of left front wheel was pushed inward, the grill and hood were pushed into windshield, windshield broken, front left roof support, center dash pushed in and parts of dash broken in glove box area, rear seats squished together in the shape of a "w". Question is why..... Didn't either airbag deploy??????? have other cases been reported with hyundais? insurance investigator said they could not determine the cause of failure because the cars electrical system was knocked out completely? have photos if required.
The contact owns a 2005 hyundai accent. The contact was driving 40 mph in rainy weather when the vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. "airbag" indicator came on when vehicle was started up and didn't go out. Has been on for 3 months. This 2006 accent that has thrown the b1448 code (oc sensor mat defect). A recall for the hyundai sonata (nhtsa campaign id number: 08v161000) which uses the same components in it's airbag sensory system has been issued for same code. Similar complaints have been reported for the accent on this site and arfc.org. Repairs or replacement of the sensor range from $800 - $1100. Not issuing a recall for all vehicles using the same faulty components as the recalled sonata is completely immoral. Recall should be issued.

I was traveling on a south outer road where the speed limit was 35 miles per hr. I drive a hyundai accent 2005 and this 1995dodge ram pickup failed to make a turn on the roadway and came in direct path of my car. But the impact was in the middle of my car toward the passengerside in which the impact dented my license plate in half and my air bag did not deploy at the impact . I had my seat belt on and i hit my head on the steering wheel , in which later on i had a bad headache and went to the emergencyroom and they said i had a mild whip lash. The police report said he was going too fast for conditions. Can not understand the impact of the front so severe that my airbag didn't deploy.the auto body has my car at this time and they are waiting on the insurance company to total it or not.
My brake lights do not illuminate when pressing on the brake pedal, and my automatic shift is stuck in park unless i press the button in the small hole located to the upper left to unlock it. I was informed by hyundai that it sounded like i had a broken switch located by the brake pedal and that it was causing the brake lights to not register when i pressed in the brake pedal. I have an appointment for tomorrow but if there was a recall done on other vin numbers and mine isn't listed i'm going to be upset.
Dt: contact stated2005 hyundai accent was in thenrepair shop for electrical problems. She was driving at a low speed when the check engine light came on, and when the brakes were applied, there were no brakes. The vehicle was driven into a wall to get it to stop. The vehicle was towed to a service dealer. They felt the problem iwasin the electrical system,. The vehicle has been at the dealership since september 27, 2005. There was minor damage to the body of the vehicle, there were no injuries and no police report was taken.
Vehicle would not shift from park to drive. Brake lights didn't illuminate. Vehicle towed to local garage, where it was determined the brake light switch was defective. 30 minutes and $80.00 later the problem was remedied. Hyundai has had multiple recalls of their brake light switches, but each time the apply the recall to a very narrow selection of models, of which this aforementioned vehicle is not included. Stranding a 19 y/o girl in a dark parking lot at 9:30 at night could have resulted in a less favorable outcome. How many other unfortunates suffer because of a failure on the part of hyundai to step up and fix an inexpensive part.
Receive an recall on my vehicle concerning brakes lights, but i bought the car on the year of our lord 2007 and the dealer no longer exist. What can i do in such a case to correct the default.

I injured my left thumb trying to honk the horn on my 2005 hyundai accent. This injury required surgery. I feel the horn button has a design defect: it takes up a very small portion at the middle of the steering wheel. If you don't press on that specific area your fingers impact a hard, unyielding surface.i feel this is a design defect that can cause finger and hand injuries. I feel your administration needed to be notified to prevent further injuries.

Just last night october 2, 2013. I noticed that my brake lights were on and not my headlights, and the car was in park, and the vehicle was off. I will attempt to get this fixed at the hyundai dealership in enterprise, al. I hope they will fix this safety issue, as i have readed other complaints from people across the nation have had with this and dealerships have refused to comply and fix this free of charge. My brake lights malfunctioned causing them to stay depressed and lit up until i disconnected the battery. Now they won't even come back on. I was also having issues with the shifter and it was stuck in the park position. I found out through nhtsa that hyundai recalled thousands of vehicles for these same problems back in 2009. They said any of these malfunctions could lead to a crash. I had one representative from hyundai tell me that they don't honor nhtsa recalls. The dealers refuse to replace the stop lamp switch on my vehicle because they won't even acknowledge the recall. The recall that began on september 2, 2009, campaign 092, the article cited to contact this puerto rican phone number 1-787-999-4310 but i can't get through. The dealerships are not very helpful at this point and in fact the service manager at one dealership was extremely rude and stated that he would not work with corporate when corporate decided to back me with the recall. He told me that since my car was having those issues that it was a safety issue and that his recommendation was that the dealership honor that and fix my vehicle, but they refuse. I have no working brake lights andi need help in resolving this issue in a timely manner. Thank you.

I dont know if its the throttle sensor or whats the problem is but the car also been drivin diffferently around corners like the rear end somethin wrong and seen statements from other people statin there was a problem with their car as well. I hope you guys can help me if not i need a mechanic to fix the car.
I have a 2005 hyundai accent.the two front door latches have an issue when the weather gets cold.at around 20 degrees outside temperature the mechanisms jam/stick open when the doors are open.it requires either utilizing a hair dryer or warming the car up while holding the door closed to get them freed up, this takes from 15 to 20 minutes.as this does not normally occur at temperatures greater than about 20 degrees i disagree with the manufactures and dealerships explanation that it is due to water intrusion.i believe it is related to the expansion and contraction of metals at different temperature and the tolerances of the parts.i live in upstate new york where my wife purchased the vehicle and we have had to deal with the issue over the last two winters, and am forced to look forward to yet another cold weather season and the most likely recurrence of the issue.i believe these latches are a safety feature of the vehicle and it is only a matter of time before they fail in a vehicle during an accident.i have spoken to other accent owners who have expressed similar issues with either the front or rear latches. The manufacturer is aware of my complaint as is the dealership i purchased the vehicle from.neither is willing to replace the parts.

I began having trouble taking my car out of the park position when i pushed the brake and one day i couldn't get it to come out at all. I called my local dealership and explained the problem and took it in to be check. They told me that it was a sensor that was bad and they needed to replace it and they also informed me that i didn't have any brake lights whenever i pushed them while driving. I was having trouble for about a month leading up to the day i couldn't get it out of park. I was able to used the shift lock override to force it out, but i still didn't have brake lights. It was fixed for about $150 including parts & labor. This was very scary though because i could have easily been rear ended since drives behind me didn't know i was braking.

I was traveling (and likely slightly braking) on a highway off-ramp when i suddenly lost control of my vehicle. It felt like the right front wheel seized up, and then the steering column and dash started violently shaking and the car fish-tailed around. I crashed into a concrete barricade and ending up facing oncoming traffic -- which could have killed me and the driver of the oncoming vehicle, who also ended up crashing. Weather / visibility and road conditions were clear and dry, and there were no apparent o structions in the roadway. After the crash, the wheels moved normally again and looked unaffected.

The incident occured june 30 2014 and i was headed to a stop sign and my car started accelerating on its own and i had to push in clutch and press brakes pretty hard to stop the car from takin off on its own without me pushing the gas. I dont know if its the throttle sensor or whats the problem is but the car also been drivin diffferently around corners like the rear end somethin wrong and seen statements from other people statin there was a problem with their car as well. I hope you guys can help me if not i need a mechanic to fix the car.
Stop light malfunction, transmission malfunction, transmission shift interlock malfunction, electronic stability control malfunction.
The car is a 2005 hyundai accent 4-door. While driving after having warmed the car up for approx 5 minutes (the outside temperature was approx. 5 degrees fahrenheit), the rear window completely shattered, from top to bottom, side to side. No foreign object struck the window prior to it shattering. The shattered glass, then, as bumps were hit, began to fall into the car and would have struck any rear seat passengers, had there been any. This was obviously due to a manufacturing defect in the window, although hyundai service refused to replace the window. My own research on this topic revealed that this is not by any means an isolated incident.
