"takata recall"i purchased my 2014 husqvarna strada 650 from the dealer bran new with 0 miles. I was able to perform the 1st service at the dealer, no problem. To keep the warranty, i needed to have a 65-7500mile service which i took to three dealers and none of them have been able to perform the service required and there is zero support from husqvarna to the dealer or myself about what to do. I have no way of contacting husqvarna about this. The only address is in sweden. I have received a safety recall and i don't know what to do with this as the dealers do not know how to work on this bike. I am totally confused as what i am supposed to do with this three year old bike with 8000 miles that no one knows how to work on. I purchased it with a warranty and now there is no support. The letter i received states that if i have any questions regarding this matter to contact nhtsa and leave a message. This is what i am attempting to do.
I purchased this motorcycle new, with 2 miles on it. It now has >4000 miles. Started stalling at about 1500 miles. --when accelerating from a stop, the acceleration is unreliable, causing a stall midway through an intersection in first gear, consistently. --the bike also stalls while riding, when i pull in the clutch to shift (first time was at 40 mph) the bike turned off completely and had to be restarted. The problem happens when in motion regardless of gear, speed, acceleration or deceleration. This is extremely dangerous - i may stall and crash in an intersection or lose force while turning and crash if the bike stops running at higher speeds. When i stop the bike and use th kill switch to turn it off, it does not restart without turnign the key off then on again (electronic reset?) and the "ews" light comes on. No shop including bmw is able to read the fault codes, let alone fix the ecu problem. The ecu i know has never been updated since dec 2013 (per the shop where i bought it). I have tried aftermarket fixes (booster plug and power commander) and the bike reverted back to stalling. I have since removed all aftermarket engine "fixes" and paid for a complete tune-up tip to tail, and the bike has still reverted to stalling. It is a persistent but unpredictable problem and the electronics need to be upgraded as soon as possible.
The contact owns a 2014 husqvarna tr650. The contact stated while driving the motorcycle at approximately 10 mph, he attempted to advance the throttle and fell off the motorcycle and into the ground. As a result, the engine failed without warning. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was diagnosed that the engine control unit was reprogrammed but the failure continued to occur intermittently. It was unknown where the vehicle was diagnosed. The approximate failure mileage was 100.
The bike since new has been stalling intermittently with off idle hesitation that makes it dangerous to ride in heavy traffic.the bike will frequently stall when accelerating from stop light causing hazardous situations with cars following behind since the motor will just sputter and quit.
My motorcycle suffers from lean stumble and off idle engine engine dying when opening the throttle. This results in a stall that has resulted in my dropping the bike because of the stall and could result in injury or worse in the wrong traffic scenario
I was riding my bike on highway an engine stalled i almost lost my life.
Most serious issues are that the engine hesitates on acceleration and stalls while moving if i attempt to downshift in order to decelerate in a controlled manner. The hesitation began around the time my odometer reached 2000 miles; the stalling began after the odometer reached approx 3500. Regardless my speed, fast or slow, the bike stalled after i pulled the clutch in and downshifted, also regardless how quickly i released the clutch or rolled on the throttle. It has happened to me > 20 times (no exaggeration) in 300 miles of riding through towns and on highways, whenever i was slowing down. Additionally, while riding slowly off road in 1st or 2nd gear, the bike will hesitate or stall unless i have the rpms to >3500. Hazard triangle and ews lights then come on and i have found that if i turn the key to off then back to on, the bike will restart. It will not restart until i do that. Both these issues have happened on and off road, while riding straight or turning, with the bike loaded (panniers etc) and unloaded, moving downhill or uphill (stalling while downshifting has occurred while moving downhill or level). Two days ago the bike would not start at all after being parked for 1 hour after riding locally (<5 miles city). The engine turned over repeatedly but would not start; the engine light is on. So far, thankfully, i have not been hit in an intersection while fumbling to keep balance when my acceleration hesitates or stalls, nor have i been hit from behind when i suddenly decelerate as the bike stalls on a straight road.
I bought this bike 2 weeks ago i'm noticing it has a bad stutter at lower rpms and a tendency to randomly stall.
Engine stalls when taking off from a stop at an intersection on city streets.
The contact owns a 2014 husqvarna tr650. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. Once restarted, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was driven home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.
When trying to accelerate from a full and complete stop, the bike hesitates or even stalls regardless of how gentle the clutch is released or how much throttle is given. Both canada and australia have issued recall notices on this particular 650cc engine that was used in husqvarnas and bmws.this has happened to me approximately 20-30 times over the past 8 months that i have owned the bike.i have been almost rear ended a few times stalling this bike just as i enter an intersection.
Upon initially taking off from a dead stop, the engine will die.this consistently happens when the engine is cold and it is extremely dangerous to ride the bike when trying to enter a busy street.it happens 75% of the time until the engine is completely warmed up.even then, it happens 25% of the time.

Vehicle engine stalls intermittently at low speeds during gear shifts.this has occurred approximately 6 times, with 2 incidents placing me in a dangerous situation (i.e. While negotiating a traffic turn at an intersection).such engine behavior has been observed by many other owners of this vehicle and is of serious concern due to the safety implications.there is speculation that this behavior is a result of a lean fuel mixture associated with the ecu's open loop map.

Engine stalls.it happened once in the middle of an intersection in traffic.not good on a motorcycle.it has stalled from day one since i bought it.
Stalling @ low speeds
Motorcycle will stall without warning at low speeds and take offs. This has happened since i originally bought the motorcycle new. This happens usually once or twice every time the motorcycle is ridden. During take off from a stop light in the city the bike stalled causing the bike to come to a complete stop with no warning causing me to slam forward into the handle bars. My wrist was injured during this event.
Random low speed stalling, approaching intersections, rounding corners and low speed and in parking lots.

The motorcycle stalls off idle repetitively.the engine completely cuts out and shuts off unless you hold the throttle at a high rpm.the engine idles fine normally, it just suddenly cuts out.my first experience was while going onto a freeway on ramp in downtown los angeles and i was very close to being rear ended by a car.the on ramp was a stop and go traffic controlled ramp.it also does it while maneuvering around parking lots, etc.
The motorcycle will randomly stall while in motion shortly after take-off (particularly during very slight throttle openings such as making a left or right turn from a stop) or during deceleration after pulling the clutch.i've experienced numerous instances where the bike stalled while pulling into or across traffic and one instance resulting in the bike falling during a u-turn due to the sudden loss of power during a stall which combined with the tight angle of the turn made for an unpreventable fall.i have sustained no injuries from these events, but a few were very close calls. I have learned though personal research into seeking a fix to this issue that this is an almost universal problem with this model of motorcycle, so serious injury or death to someone is likely inevitable without a fix to this issue.

My motorcycle will experience stumbling and stalls while taking off at random intervals. This is unsafe during traffic conditions as it has the potential to cause an accident. It places me at risk of being rear-ended or stalled in an intersection.

The bike will stall unexpectedly. It can occur during acceleration or deceleration. It has happend under all driving conditions every sinse i have had the bike. I have taken it to the dealer several times and the ecu has been reflashed with the latest updates but still have the issue.
This bike is prone to "lean stumble", the bike randomly dies when accelerating away from a stop due to lean tuning to meet epa standards which causes the bike to run very lean in "closed loop" (idle circuit). This has happened numerous times since owning the bike.on this instance i was pulling away from a stop light when the bike died causing the driver behind me to bump my rear tire thus pushing me forward andoff of my bike. I suffered a hamstring injury trying to keep the bike upright.
Engine will unexpectedly stall when starting to drive or shifting to up or down. It has caused me to fall three times.the first time it happened the first week i took delivery while driving up my driveway the bike fell and landed on a rock. Second time while leaving on a trip from my driveway, it stall on take off and fell in the road. Neither time did i get hurt but i could have falling in the street. The third i was turning into a side street the bike stalled when i down shifted, the dike fell and i went over the handle bars and landed on my shoulder on the pavement and hurt my shoulder and elbow. It has also stalled other times without falling. The falls have happened while the bike was moving slowly.
