At low engine rpm and/or at low vehicle speed, the engine stalls and shuts off. This has occurred over 25 times ever since i took delivery of the vehicle.this is a very dangerous fault because in certain situations, stalling can result in injury, dropping the vehicle, or even a fatality.

Engine stalling at low speeds for motorcycle this puts driver in very dangerous situationprone to crash and/or getting hit from behind.

The contact owns a 2013 husqvarna tr650. The contact stated that while at a complete stop and attempting to accelerate, the motorcycle would stall without warning. The contact stated that the failure would occur intermittently. The motorcycle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact believed that the ecu (electronic control unit) was the cause of the failure. The contact mentioned that there was a recall for the failure but it did not include usa motorcycles. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,500.

Since day one, this bike has stalled randomly when slowing for traffic or when coasting on roadways.it has caused me to fall over in grass when the bike did not fuel when it should have.it also has a random high idle and fueling is horrible throughout the rev range.i have gone to four different husqvarna dealerships on the east coast of the usa with no help.they all advise that now that ktm owns husqvarna that they do not have nor do they want the moss tool software to attempt to rectify the issues.it is a serious safety hazard which has caused me to nearly be struck several times when i hope to start from a stop but eh bike stalls and i'm stuck in a traffic lane.i barley ride my motorcycle that i paid thousands and thousands of dollars for.canada has issued a recall and i see no reason that the usa should not have a recall and make bmw (the owner of husqvarna during the making of my bike) or ktm (the owner of thusqvarna now) to fix this serious safety issue.please help!!!!

Recently purchased a used 2013 tr650 terra. Using it as transportation to and from work. Rode without issue for two weeks. One night on the way home it stalled while exiting i-5 onto hwy 22 in salem. Restarted and went home. The following evening happened again on hwy 22 but was able to limp it home. The next several days i rode to work on backroads to be safer. The problem has gotten worse with several stalls daily. On wednesday night february 24 it stalled and could not keep it running after. Had to be towed home. This is how i get to and from work. There is a lot of history with this issue. The current or former owners of husqvarna should in good faith resolve this issue. I have owned more than 50 motorcycles in my life that i maintain myself and fave never been stranded on the side of the road.

Had a minor hesitation issue when cold that went away when fully warm. That i could live with. Received safety recall no. 16v-124 dated 8/16/16 advising of problem with remedy to be determined. Received thesafety recall notice with remedy of 4/24/17 and delivered the motorcycle to pro caliber motorsports of oregon for "a new ecu software update" on 10/19/17.picked the bike up on 11/18/17 with check engine light on.after the dealer obtained the proper cable to "adapt the updated ecu software" 12/15/17, the light went off.on 3/27/18 the hesitation issue was magnified greatly as the engine would not produce usable power under 5000 rpm.as there was not enough predictable power to enter the highway, i decided to return home after a mile on my local road and try to figure out what the problem was. Other symptoms: engine will die under load under 5000 rpm if i am not quick to pull in the clutch;rpms will rise without throttle to 3500 rpm even when warm and i am trying to slow down.on 3/29/18 i contacted pro caliber motorsports and asked for help. The service adviser told me that they are no longer providing technical support for this model.if i am unable to fix it myself, i will return it to the dealer in salem, or, 110 miles away who has offered to help.

My husqvarna tr650 motorcycle has a stalling problem at low speed/coming off of idle. When starting to move from a stop, the motorcycle periodically stalls. This is a potentially dangerous situation because the bike will start moving before the stall occurs, potentially putting the bike and occupant in the path of oncoming traffic while the rider attempts to restart the motorcycle.the problem has repeatedly occurred since i purchased the motorcycle. The problem is well cited on the following husqvarna motorcycle owners forum: http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/tr650.28/.

The contact owns a 2013 husqvarna tr650. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v124000 (engine and engine cooling). The part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The vin was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Stalls often while pulling away from a stop, also happens while riding at low speed.

Bought this bike in jan 2013, bike ran fine for about 10 months. Then slowly developed a dead spot in the throttle and the engine would miss. Then the stalling issue became apparent. When starting off in first gear you give it throttle and try to let the clutch out it stalls dead. It has happened to me multiple times in an intersection and has almost killed me. Every bike sold should be refunded completely. I am still making payments on this bike, and because its on a loan, it still requires insurance to be on it. I haven't been able to ride it for almost three years without having to worry about loosing my life, as it was my only mode of transportation i had no choice. So i am paying almost 200 dollars a month for a paperweight. Bmw and ktm have acknowledged the issue and sent me a recall letter in july 2016, it is now feb 2017 and still nothing. I have even called ktm and they have no answer.this isn't the only defect, there was massive amounts of dust in my air box. The air box isn't completely sealed and doesn't let clean air into the engine. This will ruin an engine.bmw or ktm, step up and take responsibility for this terrible motorcycle. <refund>

When accelerating from a stop, the engine would pop and then the engine would stop.this occurrence occasionally would also happen when the clutch is pulled in.when i first purchased the bike, i had notified the dealer that the engine had popped and stopped a couple times.they looked at it and had no solution.i had purchased a boosterplug from an aftermarket source that lessened the engine stalling, not eliminated it. The porpoise of the boosterplug was to richen the lean fuel mixture which causes the engine stalling.bmw are the manufacture of the engine and fuel system.they know the engine best.currently there is a firmware update for the bmw branded bikes with the same engine, same problem as the terra.when can my bike get fixed?there is a nhtsa recall notice 16v-124 8/16/16 with no resolution to the problem.

Engine stalls randomly at low speeds when often times when trying to accelerate from a stop but may also happen when approaching a stop.

Motorcycle fuelling issue at low rpm causes stalling at traffic lights.

The engine will randomly stall at slow speeds and rpms. This sometimes occurs both when pulling away from a stop or when coming to the stop when the clutch lever is pulled. The engine will often stumble and sometimes completely stall.

The contact owns a 2013 husqvarna terra 650 motorcycle. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v124000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available. The consumer requested to withdraw complaint

The motorcycle sometimes stalls when slowing down for a turn, a stop, or when taking off from a stop. It has happened both while moving and at a stop. Normally happens on city streets.

Un-expected stalling from standing starts, when coming to idle and when engine temp is high.

The contact owns a 2013 husqvarna tr650 motorcycle. The contact stated that while sitting at a stop, the vehicle stalled when the contact tried to accelerate.the failure continued to occur intermittently over a period of one year.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing, however they could not duplicate the failure.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 2,600.

Ktm north america, inc. (ktm) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 husqvarna tr650 terra and tr650 strada motorcycles manufactured january 1, 2012, to december 31, 2013. The affected motorcycles may unexpectedly stall.

Bike has always had a lean/off-idle stalling issue. Stalling in traffric can be deadly!

My tr650 motorcycle stalls upon twisting the throttle to accelerate from a stop. I have almost been run over several times by cars directly behind me. This problem could easily kill someone that does not quickly pull over (if able) or restart before being struck from behind. It happens regardless of the temperature of the day or if the engine is warm or cold. This problem occurs every time i accelerate and has done so since i bought it newin dec 2012

Purchased used in july 2016. Have experienced stuttering at intersections, and at low speeds. Have mostly been able to catch before stalling out, but did get caught in stop and go traffic with a stall. Have since found that there is a recall and want to add my concern for the safety risk of riding this motorcycle.

Motorcycle will stall when taking off from a stop or when slowing down from a steady cruise to make a turn. It is dangerous to cross an intersection, i have to rev engine high and slip clutch more than normal. Bmw designed the motorcycle and owns the rights to the firmware to the engines computer. Bmw sold husqvarna to ktm and we are left high and dry without any updates to the ecm. Bmw has a similar motorcycle g650gs that has the same motor and ecm and they have received multiple updates yet bmw will not help or release the codes to the ecm so we can get this problem fixed.

This motorcycle stalls often and with no warning. Especially when slowing down or coming to a stop. I have stalled at least 20 times. The last stall was on a downhill coming out of the drive way. At the end of the driveway i slowed down to make a right turn and the engine stalled causing me to fall. I hurt my neck and badly burned my leg. I will not ride this bike until husqvarna/bmw fix this stalling problem.this stall is caused by a poorly mapped ecu (elecrtric control unit). The low speed fuel delivery is so lean that the engine just stops upon slowing down. This could be deadly while negotiating an intersection.i have called several husqvarna dealers but they refuse to offer any help.

Motorcycle experiences unexpected stalling while operating at low rpm's and speed.problem is intermittent and apparently random, occurring while accelerating ordecelerating.to date it has resulted in one slow speed off-road crash.i was not injured, but am concerned that the problem will result in a much more serious on-road crash.

Engine stalls when trying to accelerate forward from a stop.this has caused several close calls when cars behind that expected me to move forward nearly rear-ended me.i now am in the habit of revving up the engine way more than should be necessary in order to avoid the stall.

The motorcycle runs severely lean, causing it to stumble and stall at low rpms. This is primarily noticed when accelerating from idle. My first experience with it was making a left turn across a four lane road with oncoming traffic. As i started to move forward and leaned into the turn, the bike stalled causing the rear tire to quickly lockup as engine power was cut. I disengaged the clutch, but was too late to prevent crashing. Luckily, oncoming traffic saw me soon enough to stop, and i avoided being struck by an oncoming vehicle. The crash was low speed and resulted in only minor injury to my left leg, but prevented me from riding and performing airborne operations (army) for a few weeks. In my 6000 miles since the original accident, the vehicle has suffered countless off-idle stalls, and has put me in jeopardy many times.

Motorcycle stalls unexpectedly when releasing the clutch lever, has done it since new.

Engine stalls at or near closed throttle unpredictably. Fault occurs repeatedly but intermittently. It has occurred without regard to interstate, highway, or city. Wherever there is stop and go traffic. The problem is widely recognized among owners and has been officially recognized outside the us by government agencies, pleasereference the attached canadian recall. The incident reported below was the first .

Engine stalls when clutch pulled in at slow speeds or when slowing down and clutch is pulled in to select lower gear. Happened 6 times in two months.above mentioned injury happened upon pulling out of driveway. The motorcycle was fully warmed up, had been idling for 6 minutes, and as i was pulling out of driveway a car came by. I pulled in clutch and engine stopped. I was not expecting this and lost balance. Bike fell on the left hand side. I sprained left ankle and badly burned it also. The stalling has occurred when coming up to a stop sign, when pulling away from a red light, when coming down a hill on a dirt road etc. I had hopes that idle speed could be adjusted higher but dealer says the idle is determined by engine electronics and comes from factory preset.the dealer cannot adjust the idle speed. I have spoken to others who own this model and all of them have this same issue. I have been riding motorcycles for 45yrs and have never had a problem like this.

"takata recall"i am wishing to lodge a formal complaint. Concerning a serious safety issue with the above husqvarna manufactured motorcycle. Commonly referred to amongst the husqvarna motorcycle community owners as the 'death" stall. Because of insufficient programming of the ecu this results a sporadic stalling problem. Which can have life threatening consequences. There seems to be a complete lack of communications between the previous company owners bmw and the new company owners ktm. Which for some reason is rampant in north american dealerships where there is capability do apply the revised and updated fuel mapping to resolve the problem. The only thing that is offered to owners of this machine. Is that our dealers will be required to sent the ecu's back to ktm hq for these reprogramming updates. All of this at our expense not to mention the vehicle downtime . When owners in other countries are able to get these updates/revisions provided at their local dealerships. Meanwhile we are stuck and without real time support for an issue that should have administered free of charge long long ago. No one is being held accountable for this. It's a complete outrage! the stalling issue will occur in the worst situations possible. Usually during slow maneuvers in heavy traffic situations. Pulling out into intersections. Slow moving turns etc. So far as when did this happen date required below. It's an on going and random issue. It constantly happens. So the date is somewhat irrelevant.

The engine stutters, or briefly stalls upon acceleration, particularly at low speed as when entering an intersection. Entering an intersection from a full stop, the engine may accelerate for a moment, just enough to get the vehicle into an oncoming lane of traffic, and then abruptly quit. It is a very dangerous situation. The issue has been thoroughly described by many owners of this motorcylce on the website known as "cafe husky". The problem started occurring on my vehicle in 2013, and it continues to the present.

My 2013 husqvarna tr650 strada has bad idling issues. One minute it runs ok and the next the engine accelerates unexpectantly and sometimes it stalls unexpectantly. This has happened while driving in heavy traffic and it also runs erratically while parked.

Recall is effect for this vehicle in australia, canada i will include (attach) the dotar australia response with clarification about the bmw developed husqvarna tr650 motorcycle that has a random stall issue that will at some point in the near future get a person killed. This is an easy fix by computer re-program of the ecu by the new owners ktm motorcycles who by eu law is required to support the motorcycle for 10 years

Lean stumble or stall at idle, lack of support by manufacture to address this issue, ecu map need to be fixed, someone will get killed soon because of it, many owners can vouch for this, more info at www.cafehusky.com or call me, please contact husqvarna na directly and ask about the problem 855-282-6227

All owners of this motorcycle are experiencing air box failure. This being an on/off road vehicle. Implies vast quantities of dirt and sand are by passing the air box filter and entering the engine directly. At some point if this goes unaddressed this will cause catastrophic failure. Combined with the 2 other problems inherent with the tr husqvarna bikes. Namely the faulty ecu mapping causing a deadly(termed 'death' stall). Also the steering shake which resulted in a near death accident for myself on the freeway. Others on the owners forum complain of these issues also. I sincerely trust that you will do the right thing and order a recall and rectification by the manufacturer. Unfortunately the air box problem didn't come to light early on. So many of us have already ingested a vast quantity of dirt through the air intake. Thus shortening the life of these engines.

Motorcycle stalls at low rpm expectantly.unfortunately, it typically happens at intersections.it has almost caused an accident more than a few times.

The bike will stall unexpectedly. It can occur during acceleration or deceleration. It has happend under all driving conditions every sinse i have had the bike. Have taken it to the dealer several times and the ecu has been reflashed with the latest updates but still have the issue.

Engine stalling at low speeds for motorcycle this puts driver in very dangerous situationprone to crash and/or getting hit from behind.

Stalls often while pulling away from a stop, also happens while riding at low speed.

Since new the bike exhibits a speed wobble, sometimes a weave, or a tremor translated through the handlebars. This has been noted by a number of husqvarna tr owners. Prior to the 08-12-14 i had experience this twice. On this occasion i was on a downhill grade of the interstate 101. There was a transition in surface from asphalt to concrete over pass. Just enough to indce the above effects. Under normal conditions with some adjustments to rear brake or throttle. I have managed to regain control and centre/ neutralize these responses. On this occasion, all forces of gravity bearing down on the front end due to the grade. Rendering all efforts useless. In fact they enhanced the problem. The handle bars shook violently from side to side. Each motion creating a counter motion. Till the forces were so great that the front wheel began to skip. Alternately placing all counter forces to the rear wheel. Which in turn would skip. Each cycle of the above chain of reactive cycles increased in extremely rapid succession, think rodeo bull. Bike flip flops violently from side to side and back and forth simultaneously, as the handle bars go from opposite lock to opposite lock. Often referred to as a tank slapper. The end result being that of all accumulative forces passed on to the pilot at a point where he becomes launched from the saddle. In this case across 3 lanes of commute traffic. Coming to rest in the fast lane a short distance from the concrete divider. I should be dead by all accounts!issue #2 an even greater number of owners have complained about the inherently lean running nature of these bikes. Resulting in what's being called a 'death stall'. As often takes place in intersections, lights or from a standstill in slow moving traffic. Here the bike just stalls, it's common to most all of the owners i have spoken with or read reports from on the owners forum.

Un-expected stalling from standing starts, when coming to idle and when engine temp is high.

The veh will stall while sitting at a traffic light or stop sign. This has caused several near collisions from vehicles behind having to avoid a stopped motorcycle in the intersection. This has occurred at least 10 times in the last year. The cause is a faulty ecu program that has been recalled in both canada and europe. The us nhtsa has not issued a recall for this potentially deadly issue.

My motorcycle stalls after or before a complete stop. It has stalled in the middle of intersections and i have dropped the bike on several occasions as the stall takes away all power. My vehicle has stalled while moving, while stopped and while accelerating away from an intersection. On two separate occasions i was nearly rear ended as the bike abruptly stalled as i was leaving an intersection and the cars behind did not react to my bikes non movement. Bmw made this bike under the husqvarna brand and bmw still uses this fueling system in their g650gs model. Bmw made a new fueling map for the g650gs as it exhibited the same issues. However, since selling husqvarna to ktm, bmw will no longer update the ecus in husqvarna models. The fueling ecu programming system is proprietary to bmw. Ktm cannot reprogram our ecus but bmw could. However bmw refuses to update the husqvarna ecus. As an owner i and many others have been trying to get a resolution to this dangerous stalling issue. It can cause loss of life and or injury. Please address this. The fix is already available through bmw and only requires a reflash of our ecus. The fix takes approximately 30 minutes at a bmw dealer.

Ktm north america, inc. (ktm) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 husqvarna tr650 terra and tr650 strada motorcycles manufactured january 1, 2012, to december 31, 2013. The affected motorcycles may unexpectedly stall.

When this vehicle is operated at legal highway speeds, there is a severe wobble in the front which results in heavy vibration in the handlebars & headset.

Here the bike just stalls, it's common to most all of the owners i have spoken with or read reports from on the owners forum.

<refund>

When this vehicle is operated at legal highway speeds, there is a severe wobble in the front which results in heavy vibration in the handlebars & headset.

Ktm north america, inc. (ktm) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 husqvarna tr650 terra and tr650 strada motorcycles manufactured january 1, 2012, to december 31, 2013. The affected motorcycles may unexpectedly stall.

Purchased used in july 2016. Have experienced stuttering at intersections, and at low speeds. Have mostly been able to catch before stalling out, but did get caught in stop and go traffic with a stall. Have since found that there is a recall and want to add my concern for the safety risk of riding this motorcycle.

The bike shudders and stumbles when down shifting and sometimes stalls.

Bike stalls at certain rpms. This issue is particularly difficult/dangerous when pulling out into traffic from a stop and also during steady, mid to low rpm corners. When pulling away from a stop bike can stall and die leaving me in the way of traffic while i restart. In corners the bike doesn't die but the stall adversely affects power/stability.i have learned to ride around this issue to some extent but with a new rider this could very well result in a tragic accident. How this has been allowed to continue without a recall or resulting death is amazing.

My 2013 husqvarna tr650 strada has bad idling issues. One minute it runs ok and the next the engine accelerates unexpectantly and sometimes it stalls unexpectantly. This has happened while driving in heavy traffic and it also runs erratically while parked.
