My 22 year old daughter & a passenger was driving westbound on airport freeway, going straight, no turning, nopot holes, etc. All side airbags deployed for no reason what so ever!
Takata recall. I was driving between 10-15 mph on a side road approachinga stop sign to get onto the main highway and the side airbags on both sides deployed on their own. Nothing hit the vehicle to cause them to release. It locked up my front seat belts also. I cut the airbags out to be able to see to drive home, and was able to pull the driver's seat belt around me enough to make it home. I called my insurance company and then called the local hummer dealer to leave a message for them to return my call. My insurance company told me it would be a dealer issue, and nothing they would cover, but advised me to go to my local insurance agent and talk with them on monday. This is saturday, july 16, 2016 and neither the insurance company or the service department of the dealership is open until monday. I am not sure what happened, but believe that there it may be connected to faulty sensors on the side airbags.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility). The contact stated that the air conditioning module failed and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to rizza cadillac buick gmc (located at 8425 159th st, tinley park, il 60487, (708) 429-6600), where it was diagnosed and repaired. The diagnostic and repair specifics were not disclosed. The failures recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown.
I was driving 40mph when unexpectedly the curtain airbags driver side front and back and passenger side front and back deployed causing injuries to my collar bone, arm and neck.
My husband and i were driving down our driveway in his 2008 hummer h3, and both the passenger side and driver's side airbags deployed for no reason.it sounded like a cannon went off in the vehicle with us.our eardrums hurt for the rest of the night.we contacted our insurance company, who refused to pay stating it was a manufacturer issue.we contacted gm, who did an investigation and concluded that the airbags "functioned as they were supposed to".when we asked how that could be possible, and what the investigation showed, we were told that the information was confidential.the gentleman that gm sent to take pictures of our driveway for the investigation even commented that he didn't see anything that would have caused them to deploy.i do not understand how the airbags deploying while traveling down one's driveway in a vehicle that is made for climbing mountains and such, could be considered as functioning properly. These airbags are supposed to deploy in a rollover event. A simple online search will reveal that this has happened several times before to other people.it's obviously a defective sensor, and a dangerous one at that.if we had been traveling down the interstate or a busy road and they had deployed, we could have easily been killed.i drive a small four cylinder car down our driveway on a daily basis to go to work, and my airbags have never gone off on me. I don't understand why an official recall hasn't been issued for this.
Driving down driveway going around 8mph when airbags deployed for no reason
Curtain airbags deploy without reason going down interstate 64. Only the curtain airbags deploy. My hummer h3 is at the hall chevrolet chesapeake va where they run a full diagnostic check and check for any damage to my hummer. No damage found other then thecurtain airbags deployed and the diagnostic check came back showing no errors.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact stated while driving 9 mph the driver and passenger side curtain air bags deployed. The passenger suffered neck injuries including a chipped bone. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The failure and current mileages was 41,000.
Casually driving down the freaking road when all side airbags deployed for no reason! me and my friend both suffered brusing on our faces!
We practiced winching techniques with sno cty search and rescue. My vehicle was being winched up a hill.when we finished our practice, i notice the airbag warning light on the dash was illuminated.i took the vehicle to a gm dealership who sold hummers and had the vehicle diagnosed. They stated that the rollover sensor had indicated deployment. The vehicle did not roll, nor did the srs system deploy. They recommended replacement of the rollover sensor. I had them fully test the system to be certain that the $500.00 part would solve the problem.i had them replace the sensor with gm approved parts bought from the dealership.after the repair, the mechanic stated that he thought there was an electrical fault with the sensor - but had no way of testing the circuits; nor the willingness to try a part he fixed because it could deploy the system. The light is on again (the repair was completed june 11, 2013). I took the vehicle back to the dealership, where they pulled the entire dash apart and tested all the circuits.they did not find a definite cause.they recommended that we use dielectric grease on the connections.they indicated that if that did not solve the problem, the next "repair" would be replace the airbag itself (roughly $800.00).this is where i am at today - the light is illuminated again; gm has basically washed their hands of the vehicle (there is no warranty so all of this is coming out of my pocket); and they want to "try" to replace the airbag.i'm now concerned that the rollover sensor was not at fault; rather, there is an electrical problem with the srs system.i think the dealership has done the best they can - but without gm's participation in the solution; i think i will be continually throwing parts and still not finding the problem. Gm can test these parts; they have the schematics; charts; and ip to allow them to find the issue.
While driving on a gravel road upwards on a gravel road (not a legal street) going under 10mph, the side upper airbags deployed by themselves without being in an accident or anything being structurally damaged. I was dazed, and might of had a slight concussion. The passenger was knocked unconscious, and her ribs and back hurt.i have read on many forums that this similar situation has occurred.there are more situations but please read below. These vehicles are made to do climb 60 degree angles, i don't understand how there are so many insistence that this has happened. This is not safe at all!! below are just a few i found on the internet.http://m.carcomplaints.com/hummer/h3/2008/seat_belts_air_bags/air_bags-side_window.shtmlhttp://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/showthread.php?6114-air-bag-deployment-problemhttp://m.carcomplaints.com/hummer/h3/2006/seat_belts_air_bags/air_bags.shtmlhttp://www.clubhummeroffroad.com/forums/showthread.php/5444-side-curtain-airbag-deploymenthttp://www.hummerforums.com/forum/hummer-h3-17/scond-time-my-side-airbags-have-gone-off-road-25504/http://www.hummerxclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=8443
I was driving in very thick fog which was a white out. I was going through a turn and was lost in the fog quickly and i ended up off the side of the road struck a speed limit sign and a utility pole on my drivers side door because i seen it at the lastmoment andtried to avoid hitting it. But at the point of impact my driver side airbag never deployed at all causing me to suffer numerous broken ribs and loss of work for over 2 months time. I wasn't driving fast at all actually was going under the allotted speed limit. But due to my injuries the had to extracate me from the vehicle causing it to be a total loss because they had to cut it apart running my vehicle completely. I was not happy about this at all.
While driving on family property (open field) stable ground no inclines, hills, or pitches and going about 5mph all of my side impact airbags randomly deployed. There was no hit, no impact, no bounces hit, no nothing. Just all at random.the vehicle was complete stable and upright when this occurred.
I own a 2008 hummer h3 alpha.yesterday, 9-18-2010 the side curtain airbags deployed for no reason.i have a bruise on the side of my face, a cut on my neck, and my ear is still ringing.there are several reports of this happening on hummer h3's posted on the internet, and from what i'm reading, gm is not replacing the airbags.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. While stopped, both front side air bags deployed; the driver was injured as a result. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop but the failure could not be diagnosed. The air bags were repaired. The failure mileage was 28,329 and the current mileage was approximately 30,000.
Driving 08 hummer h3 down city road, hit section dug up and covered with dirt/gravel; medium pothole sizes. Going 20 mph; side air bags deployed. Gm says it was supposed to do that.
Side air bags deployed without contact with anything.
I have been having security issues with this vehicle for the last 2 years. Keeps me stranded at times until the system resets itself. My hood is rattling and am afraid one day it will come off. Don't want to trade it in but may not have a choice. If companies are aware of these problems they need to fix them before someone gets killed or seriously injured. It is a total shame that consumers have to deal with all these problems and by the way paying high car or truck notes a month and having to deal with extra problems we don't need or want. Fix everything right the first time and there won't be so many complaints coming your way. I have taken my vehicle in more than once for recalls on this vehicle. Please do something about these problems before someone gets sued. Thank you for your time.
My hummer was parked in my garage and would not start.there was a clicking noise when i turned the key.i called aaa thinking it was a dead battery.they came out, got in the car and it started right up.they tested all electrical and found no issues.the battery is less than 2 years old. A few weeks later, i drove a short distance, parked and turned off my hummer.less than 1 minute later, i got in and it would not start.this time, no clicking noise, nothing.i waited a few minutes, since i remembered that it started up the last time this happened.a few tries and about 10 minutes later, the hummer started.i immediately drove it to my mechanic for a complete diagnostic check-cost $110.00.everything checked out fine, and they could not replicate the problem.i have looked online and found hundreds of complaints from people with the same exact problem.and there seems to be no fix.gm refuses to do anything about it.i have had an issue almost from day one with the key fob setting off the alarm when i try to unlock the vehicle.the horn blows, but not strongly like it would if the car is being broken into.it's a very weak honk, and it will not stop until the door is unlocked and the key inserted into the ignition and the vehicle is started.my dealer said there was nothing they could do about this and suggested it might be the fob battery.it's not, it does it with new batteries installed.the consensus of readers online is that this not starting issue is a flaw in the anti-theft system.the vehicle thinks it's being stolen and therefore will not start.i also believe this is the case, based on the problems i've had with the key fob.getting stuck someplace is not only annoying, but can be dangerous.i live in arizona with temps in excess of 110 during the summer.likewise for people this happens to in areas of frigid cold and snow.
I have the same issue as hundreds of others with gm's faulty blower motor resistor. The blower motor resistor and wiring harness have failed 2 times now. Melting to each other. Luckily no fire, yet. These are expensive vehicles, and gm should own up to the design flaw and issue a recall, and or offer a repair kit that truly fixes the flaw that owners can install as the location is fairly easy to get to and work on it. The purchasers of these vehicles should not have to put up with this quality flaw, and risk themselves, family and friends. Gm - do the right thing and avoid major lawsuits.
Security system stops it from cranking and i have to stand outside the vehicle with it locked for 15 minutes so it will reset. Wiring burnt up and i had it replaced and the radio, a/c, and temp gauge still doesn't work
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The engine completely shut off while driving on a major highway.the steering wheel locked up and the car came to a stop.luckily, each time this occurred, i was able to pull over to the shoulder.there were no error lights that came up on both occasions of this happening.the battery continue to die, even after being replaced three times in 6 months!
The air conditioning began working intermittently two years ago. About a year ago it stopped completely. The issue is related to overheating or melting of an electrical component (ours has melted and is visible) and i received a recall notice over a month ago but the part is still unavailable to do the repair. I live in florida where the temperatures are high most of the year so i have been deprived of full use of my vehicle for almost two years. I believe gm needs to do better to get these issues resolved as our loss of use is not in any other means being compensated.this is frustrating and disappointing and we need immediate resolution. It is a frequent, known, recurring and costly issue.
It seems that the h3, and quite a few other gm cars of this era, has a fuel cutoff switch enabled by a security system which reads the car's key. However, it also has a huge history of failing to operate even when the proper key is used by the car's owner. This represents a dangerous flaw in the design of these cars, not in the sense that it careen off the road without warning or the like, but that it's already stranded my wife multiple times in dangerous circumstances. The fix is currently to replace, at a cost of $300 plus, the ignition switch with exactly the same part that's failed, which is to say that it's more than likely to fail again, as nothing has been done to re-engineer the failed system. I believe that gm needs to really fix the problem, rather than shrug this off as an inconvenience, especially when they are not only apprised of the problem (many, many owners have experienced this), they are planning to re-introduce the brand with an electric drive train. The reporting page requests a specific date, but today is one of many times this has happened.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. While driving approximately 27 mph, the abs, fog, traction, and tpm indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who stated that more time was needed to diagnose the failure. The contact did not want to pay the diagnostic fee without checking to see if the vehicle was included in a recall. The failure recurred, but the vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was a recall. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility) did not address the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 70,500.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility). It started one morning i went to start my vehicle and it wouldn't start i was getting a (no crank no start).i tested the battery that had been replaced only months before and the battery was fine, i then proceeded to check my ignition and starter fuses and relays all were replaced. I noticed i had a dash light on that was a car symbol not ever dealing with it i talked to a garage and was told it was the anti theft pass lock system and that i could check by letting the key on for 10 mins then when the light goes out start it worked as they said. They suggested i replace the lock assemble which included the lock housing, key cylinder, and pass lock module.i got the parts from my local dealer and had them replaced and re learned car worked fine no light any more for about 4 months. At that time i was driving with my family down the highway and the vehicle shut off during driving i got it to the side of the road an immediately turned my key off and tried starting it again when i did so i noticed that stupid red dash light shaped like a car waited the 10 mins as did before and started right up took it right home now the same thing but it just blinks and will not go off anymore. This is a very serious problem not starting somewhere is one thing that's bad enough but to have it shut off completely when driving is scary. I have maintained this vehicle regularly and i'm finding out that their are multiply people having the same issue with their vehicles not only hummer's but most gm products.
2008 hummer h3 alpha with factory tow packagetrailer routed between sharp body panel and bumper causing vehicle motion to rub the wires.the exposed wires short to the body and cause high current melting interior wiring.this problem has been imntermittent for about 1 year and have had gm dealer troubleshoot the failure of trailer brakes and lights with no solution.i discovered problem by removing rear bumper.problem can be avoided by shielding wiring and smoothing the sharp metal edges it crosses.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact stated while attempting to turn the vehicle off the key became stuck inside the ignition switch and the contact was unable to turn the vehicle off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the defect could not be duplicated and no repairs were performed. The contact stated that the defect continued to occur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.
Starter switch mounted on the lock cylinder assembly shorts out and enables the pass lock module or security and you have wait ten minutes to start the vehicle
When attempting to start the vehicle, it locks me out for 10 min, i had it happen two times in a row where i couldn't start it for 20 minutes and was late for work. I have been suck in -20 degree weather with my child. This is an on going issue, and there isn't an error code that pops up when i had it checked. This needs to be fixed!! there is no way to tell when it is going to happen, therefore it has made it very unreliable and has put me and my family at risk.
An odor smell of baked, cooked, melted, chared, scorched, and roasted electrical wires and have had to twice replace the general motors, harness, 25949869, and acdelco 15-80647 gm original equipment heating and air conditioning blower motor resistor, and once have had to replace new the heater blower motor with fan cage.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact stated that the air conditioning and heating system would independently shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the blower motor and the wire harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, months later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was informed that the ac could not be charged and the radiator the ac alternator and the battery needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired however a month later then the vehicle began to over heat and fail to start. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who, stated the ignition switch needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact stated that there was a burning odor emitting from the ac ventilation system. The vehicle was taken again to the dealer who stated the wire harness was melted as a result the blower motor and wire harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted.the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility). The manufacturer had not yet determine a solution for the failure. The failure mileage was 90,851.
I own a 2008 hummer h3 and for the past4 1/2 years i have been dealing with issues related to engine not starting when you first get in. If you wait exactly 10 minutes, it starts just fine.i have had dealerships and repair shops look at the vehicle and no one seems to know exactly what is causing this intermitant problem. The company that installed my alarm system thought it could be the ignition and/or the passlock. Apparently, the passlock is what thinks your car is being stolen and shuts it down for 10 minutes. However, they are each $600 and no guarantee that either is the problem and the car is out of warranty. After reading some hummer forum this appears to be a global problem with all hummers from 2006 to 2010 and gm refuses to admit they have a serious problem and will not submit a recall for the faulty ignition switch.
Radiator end tank ruptured releasing coolant on everything under the hood and getting on the windshield.research of this finds that there is a defect in the design of the factory radiator which gm refuses to take action on.had this happened at higher speeds, this could have been a much worse situation.
I was driving along and there was smoke coming from below passenger side under the glove box. Pull over and saw it was a resistor with two screws. It was burnt, i unplugged and drove home. Then searched internet and there are hundreds of people with the same problem. This needs to be a recall asap, before someone dies in a fire.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. The contact stated that the engine would not start. The contact indicated that the problem was intermittent and that the security sensor light illuminated. The failure mileage was 52,000.
Smell of burning plastic and thea/c stopped blowing. The a/c works on the lower speeds. Burnt/melted plug on the a/c resistor plug. From what i have found online this is a very common problem with h3's at about 40-60k miles. Why wont gm do a recall if this is a daily problem with h3 owners. How many h3's have caught fire from this ? it was over a 110 degrees when mine went out. What if i had young child or an elderly person in the vehicle at that temp ?
Intermittently the vehicles passlock security system disables the starter leaving the driver and passengers stranded for 10 minutes while the system resets itself and reengages the starter.this issues seems to occur at random, i have not been able to duplicate the problem at will.an internet search on the passlock security issues proves that this is a common problem with the h3.
The security lock system on my hummer h3 intermittently flashes during start causing the vehicle to not crank. Normally i have to wait 10 to 20 minutes for the system to reset itself and she starts right up, but today it's been 8 hours. Finally i had to call for a tow to the gm dealership. We got lucky today. At 10am my wife thought she was going into labor, we get to the truck and no start. Just a flashing security lock symbol flashing at me. Ended up using her car. This is definitely a safety concern, what if her water had broke or my son was needing medical attention. I know gm knows of this defect because i have read thousands of complaints about this exact problem online. They will not fix it unless made to.
As many have explained before, my blower motor all of a sudden went out i started to read online what it might be and found that everyone complained of resistor harness wire burning out or the plastic melting. And just as everyone said i pulled out the harness and it was burn completely out. Gm this really needs to be addressed, how many people need complain, or something possibly happen to someone before your company takes action, with all the recalls going on with your company you would think you guys would learn.
I looked on the internet to find out why my heater blower was not working and there were lots of complaints about the wiring harness and resistor burning out.i checked mine and sure enough mine was burnt on the wiring harness all the way through the plastic. Gm needs to figure out why it would cause it to malfunction like that cause it could cause a fire.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. While driving at approximately 5 mph during a rain storm, the windshield wipers became inoperable without warning. The contact pulled over and powered the vehicle off and back on. When the vehicle was restarted, the windshield wipers failed to work. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the body control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.
I was cut off by another driver in rush hour traffic and the horn failed to operate when pressed.after this incident, i discovered that the horn does not work after the vehicle is driven every few miles!the vehicle was in the shop for hours of diagnosis, and finally it was discovered by the technician that the vehicle has a bad "sir coil".the "sir coil" is on special order.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. While driving approximately 50 mph with the air conditioning unit activated, there was a burning odor inside the vehicle without warning. The air conditioner failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the lower resistor and wiring harness failed, melted together, and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility), however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,926. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Traction failed, service stab sys, service 4wd, traction light constantly lit, 4wd light no longer lit on transfer case.i have owned the vehicle for 11 weeks, and the vehicle has already been back to the dealership twice (april and may) for these problems which happen while driving in rain.onstar says that the abs/traction is not working properly and vehicle now has to go back to dealership again (june) for the same problem.the vehicle is now on the third 4wd switch and i only have 1344 miles on it!
Radiator has cracked due to manufactures defect.
While driving i noticed heavy smell of antifreeze..i took to local shop and we noticed antifreeze all over engine.radiator had crack on top. After research i see multiple complaints online with other hummer owners same issue.had to replace radiator. Mechanic said ther radiator rubs and bounces against the frame causing crack.
Upper rail rubbed against the plastic tank on the radiator, creating a crease that fractured, spraying radiator fluid all over the engine compartment.radiator had to be replaced.tech advised that the design of the vehicle was faulty because the rail was installed too close to the radiator.he shimmed it to prevent it from happening it again.

Cylinder 5 head is bad
I bought a 2008 hummer h3 four months ago at 49,956 miles, when last week i noticed i had a bad coolant leak causing the fluids to remain on the top of the engine, the fan shroud, etc. Had it towed back to the dealership where i bought it from because its a 48 miles drive and didn't want to take the chance of anything overheating. Took it in on friday morning got it back monday afternoon when i was told the radiator was cracked. After looking on the internet seems like everyone seems to be having this problem. The mileage when the dealership received it on friday was 52,547.
Without any warning, the engine began to misfire and stall out after starting from a green light.it only lasted about 10 seconds.after this, the engine quit misfiring and began to have an audible whine come from under the gear shifter.this was subsequently diagnosed by electronic means as an intermittent misfire and accelerator pedal position sensor.after examination by a mechanic, in the lower portion of the engine a bolt holding in place one of the balancers worked itself free.the entire bolt was displaced from its original location and the threads were protruding out of the plate behind the flywheel in the area of the rear main seal causing a significant loss in oil.upon further inspection after the engine was removed, multiple components appeared damaged as a result of the bolt getting stuck in one of the internal chains.the whining noise was a result of the chain rubbing against the remains of the bolt that was lodged and partially expelled from the lower rear of the motor.finally, to be clear, this incident appears to be the result of a bolt being improperly torqued, machined or the balancer being improperly machined and matched for the bolt.again, the entire bolt (including threads) was free from the component it was installed in.
The antilock safety is preventing me from starting my vehicle. When it does start, and i go to an intersection to turn the truck will then stall out. It can cause a wreck. It is a huge safety issue, time consuming, and money consuming when i have to wait 10 minutes to try to start my truck, or it doesn't start, i have to replace it for $450+ which i don't have to replace the ignition switch and it's dangerous because if it does let it start i have to be careful because it will stall out on any given second causing a catastrophe!!! there are multiple people with the same issues on their vehicles. Gm should be responsible to do a recall and fix this problem.
The contact owns a 2008 hummer h3. While driving 45 mph, the temperature gauge displayed that the vehicle's temperature was very high. The contact merged to the side of the road and poured antifreeze into the vehicle. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the radiator had fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000. The vin was unavailable. ...updated 08/10/15
Radiator has a 8 inch horizontal hair line crack that lets the coolant leak. The crack is on top right corner( drivers side). The radiator top is made from plastic that is prone to cracking due to framework bumping into it causing strain on radiator top which after time causes the top right corner to establish a hairline crack and cause the coolant to leak. Many hummer h3 vehicles owners have complained about this issue of having hairline cracks in top right corner. Hummer has replaced several hummer owners radiators at no cost, due to a design flaw that the top right radiator bumps into the framework causing stress on it and cracking. Gm has updated the radiator to accommodate for this issue, but has not showed interest in saying that this is a big issue. Why would they allow this to happen to thousands of hummer h3 owners if they know this is a design flaw which they are aware of. My hummer h3 only has 24,400 miles in it and street driven only how could this happen to soon.i had it checked by my local gm dealer and they stated that you're not the only one complaining about this and to contact gm regarding this issue.
The radiator had a crack in it when we bought the hh3,in 6-2011 which was replaced with a new factory radiator. It is now march 0f 2013 and we have another crack in the radiator. We contacted" savvy" goodyear in long beach ,new york who replaced the first one and they said it is not covered. Really does a radiator only last 2 years. They indicated that gmc would not cover the replacement.i see that this has happened to several vehicles shouldn't there be a recall?
I have a 08 hummer h3 and just found out that i have a cracked radiator.the vehicle only has 52,891 miles on it.this seems to be happening alot to the 07 and 08 hummer h3.i think we need a recall on this.all of the forums i have seen have had theirs crack in the same place.all on top of the radiators.this is something you might want to look into.i know personally i am tired of something going wrong on this.first was the rack and pinion with only 50,844 miles and now this.come on its time for a recall.
My radiator cracked and i was told and have read this is a very common problem with the h3 hummers and chevy colorado .
Crack in the radiator, had it replaced at a independent shop not knowing that this is an on going problem with this modal hummer. Definatly a flaw somewhere on gms part.

The harness wire located between body and rear bumper rubbed through on body causing right rear tail lamp bulb and fuse to blow -- this occurred at mileage 8146 on my 2008 hummer h3.hummer states on the paperwork "repaired harness wire and reposition harness; replaced bulb and fuse."

I have a 2008 hummer h-3. On november 3rd 2009 while driving about 30 miles an hour on a sharp left curve, there was a loud clunk in the front end and the truck pulled hard to the right making the vehicle go down into the ditch. Several week before this incident while in a parking lot making a sharp left turn( less than a mile per hour) there was a real loud clunk in the front passengers side, this happen twice including a week before the failure. When i checked under the front end i did not see anything.the vehicle was taken to the hummer dealer but they could not tell if anything failed.something failed!this causes me great concern because if it happened on a main highway and the vehicle went into traffic, that would not have been good. Please help me find out what went wrong as i don't think hummer is going to help!
I own a brand new base model 2008 hummer h3 not even done 300kms on the meter and i hear and feel a rattling sound under the gas and brake pedal when the car travels 10 miles or so or when its very hot, i live in the middle east dubai and its always hot here... So please address this issue i think its the steering shaft,,,, and find a solution thanks.
Sunroof drains collect water and there is moisture inside the vehicle. Based on the dealership review it is due to a faulty design of the drains due to the restrictions at both front and rear.

Problem: rear passenger doors when driving in wet mud, slush freeze rear passenger doors shut in freezing weather... You can not get doors open from inside or out.... Children or adults will be trapped inside rear passenger seat with really no way out... There is no rear cargo manual door release either... Most adults could not get over seat front or rear seat to try and exit vehicle anyway.... This door freezing has happened to me (3) times when driving on wet slush or muddy roads in freezing weather......the rear doors take in these elements because of poor designed rear door seals... When i say frozen shut, i mean really frozen.... These elements also make it into the sides of the rear seats.... I will report this condition to gm hummer but i believe i'll only get a run around.... I feel this could be a death trap for children or anyone... Thank you for your time.... If you can please do something about this issue.....

I was not involved in an incident. The rear frame of this vehicle has rusted 90% away. If it were driven any further the rear axel will fall off. I was towing a boat and it and the axel and rear bumper could have flown off the vehicle. I had no idea the extent of damage. I've owned the vehicle for 11 years. I've read that other hummer h3 owners have had the axel fall off. Please let other hummer h3 owners know how severe this can be. Every northern tier state vehicle 2008 and older with 146,400 miles can not have this dangerous of a situation. I've attached a 2011 buick lacrosse recall of a friend. This truly is a hazard. I had no idea how bad it is.

My vehicle has water leaking in it when it rains on the passenger side
The anti-theft system activates on its own.several times in the past two months when i go to start my vehicle it will not start because it thinks its being stolen.i have purchased a new key and also switched key fobs.i can park the car in the garage in the morning and at 5pm when leaving work go to start it and nothing.all the dash lights come on but, it will not start.
Vehicle will not crank.after 10-12 minute wait vehicle cranks. According to symbol this is an anti-theft lockdown.but it happens repeatedly for no reason. Has happened 5 times in 6 days. My concern is this could happen during an emergency or in a dangerous place for a woman alone (dark deserted parking lot for instance).for this reason i am very conscious of where i park, but the 1st time it happened, with no warning, was terrifying.from what i have read even replacing the ignition does not solve the issue permanently, the same thing begins to happen again.

The connector module that controls the blower motor speed in the heat/vent/air conditioning (hvac) system may overheat under extended operational periods at high medium-high blower speeds.if this condition occurs, there the risk that the heat generated could melt the plastic surrounding the connector module, which increases the risk of a fire. Ours has been missed up for 2 months. Please hurry and get the part.we can not drive it because it overheats.we have had it in a shop three times and can not get it to work.thank you. Recall is15v421

I have the same issue as hundreds of others with gm's faulty blower motor resistor. The blower motor resistor and wiring harness have failed 2 times now. Melting to each other. Luckily no fire, yet. These are expensive vehicles, and gm should own up to the design flaw and issue a recall, and or offer a repair kit that truly fixes the flaw that owners can install as the location is fairly easy to get to and work on it. The purchasers of these vehicles should not have to put up with this quality flaw, and risk themselves, family and friends. Gm - do the right thing and avoid major lawsuits.
