Hit pothole on i-285 as exiting onto ramp for i-20 exit. Bump was not that severe but apparently faulty rollover sensor triggered both side airbag deployment .
Takata recall air bags did not deploy when driving 75mph speed limit on rural hwy. It was real dark hard to see and i come up on the curve per eyewitnesses stated i was going just fine then all sudden went dwn into the ditch head first back rt tire blew off then vehicle started flipping a total of 8x..hit front hummer first. And flipped 8 times..no air bags deployed. Hummer come to rest on drivers side finally. Again the riverside air bags did not deploy. I feel like this is error in gm. Cuz those airbags shld have deployed and i would be able to stand sit put my own shoes on get dressed everything
Twice now the airbags have deployed by hitting a pothole or a rough spot in the road.during the investigation of the 2nd deployment, gm denied there is a problem even though their report states that the sensor sensed a rollover even though all four wheels were on the ground.an airbag should not deploy by hitting a rough spot on the dirt road that we live on.driving down calhoun byers road around 64th in byers, co.
I was driving home i was going about 50 mph when i heard a loud noise. My side curtain airbags automatically deployed. My seat belt locked up on me and caution light came on. I pulled off the road to see what happened. I was glad that no car was around because i would have wrecked. The inside oft hummer was filled up with gun powder.i called gm and told them what happened. After about 2 days of calling they came to pick up my truck. They first asked me if i could drive it to the local dealer 25 miles away lol no my airbags are down and i could not put my seat belt on. So now i have a rental car to drive till they let me know something. I just so glad that it did not happen the day before when i was driving down 95 i could have been died if it would have gone off then. I hope gm will fix the problem.

To see me i had full coverage uninsued insured motirist, comp colliosion, property everything. Im scared im going to go paralyed if i dont get any help. Please . I need help my airbags shld had deployed i flipped 8x not one come on ignition was still in the on position per eye witness..againi flipped 8x my whole back neck head left side is messed up i cannot get up in or out of bed by myself. My airbags did not deploy after 8x something shld had worked. But they didnt now im in bad shape. I need help. Thpse airbags shld had deployed but did not now im suffering cuz no doctor will see me without an atty. Thank you. Iwas driving hm on new hwy. Doing speed limit of 75. Had the airbags deployed as they shld. I wouldnt be in this bad of shape when hummer come to rest it laid on drivers side nor did those air bags deploy. Not one air bag deployed on hummer if itdidi maybe okay.there is a police report i dont have it i have hired atty. There was 71 pictures taken of hummer that shows clearly where they did not deploy. I feel just cuz i went out of lane just alittle bit has nothing to do with my airbags not deploying. I feel takata is responsibkevgir the airbagscnot deploying.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle independently stopped, without the contact depressing the brake pedal. The contact crashed the vehicle into a ditch. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The failure occurred twice previously, but did not result in a crash. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving approximately 15 mph, the front driver's air bag deployed without impact or warning. There were no injuries. The contact drove the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was later driven to autonation buick gmc henderson (702-979-2044, located at 330 north gibson road, henderson, nv 89014). The dealer stated that there was no recall for the vehicle and provided the contact with a repair quote. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and promised to look into the matter and call the contact back. The contact was not called back. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 186,000.
My wife was driving the posted speed limit of 45 mph, when another driver turned from a cross street into her, causing a head on collision.full frontal damage to both vehicles occurred, and the airbag in our vehicle did not deploy.the airbag in the other vehicle did deploy. Onstar was notified of the accident as well as local law enforcement.the other driver was designated as the at- fault driver in the accident.i did contact gm and notified them of the failure of the airbag to deploy, and their legal department claims that if the "crumple zones" did their jobs then the airbag would not deploy, even in a head on collision.our vehicle is still at the tow lot, and the airbag is still intact.
My car began show the passlock disabling system light and then failing to start.after starting, it would then show the air bag warning lights for a period that might be several minutes to several days before going out again.this cycle happened at random times disabling the auto without warning and in some dangerous situations.it is a well known and publicized problem that gm has chosen to ignore.i have solved the problem by having passlock disabled and ignoring the air bag warning light with the assumption it is a false warning.these recent events have me reconsidering that action, but the cost of having the problem rectified would be more than i could afford.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3.while driving 40 mph, the contact was involved in a head-on crash with the owner of an oldsmobile minivan.the contact's passenger side air bag failed to deploy.the vehicle caught fire under the passenger side of the hood.the horn began to sound and the radio was activated during the fire.the contact's on star feature instantly notified the police and paramedic.the fire department extinguished the fire and the vehicle was destroyed.the insurance company and general motors are both investigating the cause of the fire.the contact and three occupants were injured in the crash, including one who is in intensive care with a broken neck and back.the driver at fault was seriously injured as well.a police report and photos are available.the current and failure mileages were 736.
Our hummer airbag light keeps coming on.taken it to two different shop and they reset the light and it comes backs on.the dealer says they are unaware of any problem, but i look it up on the internet and there is alot of complaints.
Air bag light on.unable to remedy on own.dealer found codes b0092 and 23 in diagnostic. Stated needed new pps module and "needs passenger seatbelt buckel sensor and re-programming".advised that passenger air bag may not employ due to needed replacement.cost $140 for diagnosis; and $1200 for sensor replacement.being unable to afford this costly repair, and believing this to be a defect in the hummer itself, we contacted gm customer service to report safety issue.they refused to replace part or take responsibility for faulty sensor.there had been no accident or reason for deployment of air bag. Sensor, for unexplained reasons, just stop working. At this time, we still have not fixed this.in the last six months, we have talked to three seperate owners of the 2007 hummer h3, who are having the same problem, and have hit the same wall with gm. We, and the other owners, consider this to be a extreme safety issue that should be addressed, and leading to recall for faulty sensors.
The contact owned a 2007 hummer h3. While driving 75 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ravine. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and the contact sustained back and hip injuries, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a tow lot. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
I was leaving out of my subdivision and my side curtain side curtain air bags deployed (both sides) without any warning.luckily, i was able to drive the vehicle back to house.gm is not giving me the necessary information to resolve this issue.
Takata recall. I had an accident on 2/28/18. I flipped 8x and not one air bag deployed. So i sustained multiple injuries but i cant get any help. These airbags have a glitch in the sensor. But someone needs to be responsible for the dedect
I was in an accident 3/22/2009, 2007 hummer h3, the other driver lost control and his explorer traveled horizontally on freeway 5, in los angeles. I t boned him i was traveling 65 mph at time of impact. The hummer was totaled the front end damaged fatally. My airbagsdid not deploy. I suffered and still suffer from a back injury i have had 5 procedures to my back for pain and numbness. I was the driver. My husband was a passenger and he required knee surgery due to an injury caused by hitting the dash. He and i both still have daily pain and my ability to perform my job has been compromised. I cannot take narcotic pain medications secondary to my job, so i suffer daily.i have photos of the both vehicles involved. I think if the airbags would have deployed i and my husband may not have had such damaging and long term injuries. I have researched that the 2006 hummer air bags ( cloth seats) had issues. My vehicle had cloth seats.this may not be the appropriate forum but i had a paid service onstar. The onstar service failed to respond after the accident. I called them on my cell phone and they stated they would call the chp. Eventually the onstar called me on my vehicle but the tow truck and chp had already arrived. . my husband called 911 immediately after the accident.
My 2007 hummer h3 was t-boned by a police cruiser (mercury grand marquis i believe) that was doing 40+ mph.neither my side airbags nor the front airbags of the cruiser deployed.
I was driving off-road in my 2007 hummer h3 with a group of hummer owners.driving on a flat dirt road, approaching the paved road, the side impact air bags deployed for no reason.h3 was going aprox. 35 mph.i had my son with me in the front seat and he was hurt by the airbag.i've seen other reports of this happening with h3's and the issue should be corrected by gm.either the sensor is defective or is set too sensitive for off-road driving.i'm thankful it didn't happen on a busy freeway or on a busy street.my h3 has been in at the gm dealer for 7 days and they are wanting my insurance to pay for the repairs.that means deductibles and rental car fees for me to fix an issue that should be corrected by gm.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated whiledriving 35 mph, the side air bags deployed without provocation.the driver suffered bruising. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they informed it would take between twenty and thirty days to examine the vehicle. The failure was believed to be due to faulty side air bag sensors. The manufacturer was notified and stated they would send a representative to the dealer within the next twenty to thirty days to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired for routine maintenance two weeks prior to the failure. The contact also stated they were unsure whether the failure would be covered under warranty. The failure mileage was 98,000.
Hvac blower fan harness/conector burnt fan no operating found fix on hummer forum.
I am the original owner of a 2007 general motors hummer h3.the auto has been well maintained and professionally serviced by a gm dealership.the vehicle has 53,600 miles and is in perfect mechanical condition except this recent issue with passlock security which has rendered the vehicle unreliable and a personal and public safety hazard. The vehicle is less than 30 days out of warranty and dealer will not repair under warranty.in recent weeks, the passlock security light began randomly illuminating while driving.this light could extinguish on next start or stay illuminated through several starts.two weeks ago while returning from a trip later at night, the vehicle was disabled and failed to start in an airport parking lot.the passlock light continually flashed and the engine cranked, but without starting.a tow truck was called, but by the time it arrived, an attempt to start the vehicle was successful and the light was extinguished.this has happened at least twice since in less inconvenient and less dangerous areas.the vehicle is unreliable and unsafe.i cannot trust it to allow my wife to drive it for fear if her being marooned in a dangerous situation.the dealer has indicated it might be several hundred dollars to repair this problem and was well aware that it was a widespread problem with gm autos.there are hundreds of similar complaints on the internet and yet there is no response or attempt to remedy this situation by the manufacturer.i am a senior citizen and need to rely on my vehicle, but cannot rely on a vehicle whose security system can disable the vehicle at any random time.as my representative, i request the nhtsa address this with the manufacturer and remedy this safety concern.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Here are multiple issues well documented across the internet of hummers having and issue with these resistors, as well as chevy colorados.my blower quit a few months ago, and the resistors and wiring harness are melted to the point of charring!the nhtsa needs to investigate this or are you waiting for an actual fire to cause gm to fix this issue?
I received an important safety recall letter from hummer (gm) in august 2015 for my 2007 hummer h3. It is safety recall 15042. The letter indicated that it was a safety recall stating the connector module that controls the blower motor speed in the heat/vent/air conditioning (hvac) system may overheat under extended operational periods at high and medium-high blower speeds. If this condition occurs there could be a risk of fire. The letter said parts weren't available and when they were i would be contacted to arrange a service appoint. After several months and no call, i contacted the number, 1-800-833-6537, and asked what the hold-up is on the parts? i was told the parts were still unavailable. After several more months, i called again only to receive the same excuse with no projected date of arrival. To me this unacceptable especially this recall involves a potential risk of a fire. It is now march 2016 and i have not been contacted. I find it hard to believe that it takes so long to obtain replacements. I am hesitant to use the blower motor because of the potential fire risk.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that the vent control functions for the ac/heater failed to operate without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility) and 10v179000 (structure) but the parts were not available to receive the recall repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.
Sir/ma'am,i am writing to complain about the 2007 hummer h3 security system not allowing the vehicle to start under certain conditions.i maintain my vehicle to high standards and over the last 8 months have had issues starting my hummer.when the hummer does not start, you must wait 10-15 minutes to even attempt to restart.the vehicle will turn over, but no fuel is sent to the engine to start.if it doesn't start again, you must wait another 10-15 minutes.the latter has happened to me 5 or 6 times in just the last 2 months. There have been numerous complaints to gm about this exact issue, and has fallen on deaf ears.many vehicle forum users complain of the exact issue as well, with zero assistance from gm as seen here: https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-c8039_ds531571i am concerned that if the sporadic security lockdown (passlock) occurs while driving, fuel is cut off from the running engine, speed/steering/braking will be minimized, and the possibility of a crash is increased exponentially.please advise gm there needs to be a fix for this and ensure they comply!thank you for your time.i believe my photos of the blower motor fan resistor being burnt helped get gm issue a recall, and i hope this will urge them to fix as well
Air blower for air conditioning and heater stopped working because melted plastic on resistor also fried wiring and harness needed to be replaced.
Continuous problems with vehicle shutting down and or not starting with faulty passlock ii system..... ........ Owners manual says to wait 10-15 min but keeps happening intermittently 4 times on 9-9-14 problem is worsening by the week.
I've had electricalconcerning the factory and after market alarm system that the dealer influenced me to buy.i've had some sort of short causing to have it towed to dealer several times, i never got a complete understanding or reasoning for the problem.now my air condition blower stopped working and i was not informed of the recall for my car from the manufactureror the dealer.after contacting dealer that i bought the car from was informed that there wasn't a fix for the problem
My car will not start due to the pass lock engaging when i go to start the vehicle.i have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for pass lock to reset and then it will start. My car is always parked when this problem occurs. This problem has been on going for a year now, started once a month andnow it's every 2 weeks.
No air was coming out of vents, found the problem was faulty wiring with the resistor and wire harness blower motor both were burnt and smell of something burning.
Our 2007 hummer h3's air conditioning stopped working in may, 2014.we took it to our mechanic and they found burned/melted wires and components related to the blower relay.they replaced parts and wires to return the a/c to working order.recently, we received the recall notice related to this hazard, but gm doesn't have a solution yet.today, the selector on the a/c has stopped working.we have a serious concern that wires and components might be burning again.we have stopped driving the car.how can gm get away with this dangerous hazard and not fix our car?i see so many complaints on this website related to this issue.what other agency of the government can influence the car manufacturer to remedy this potentially-deadly defect?
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the theft lock warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic and unknown fuses related to the electrical system were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.
The contact owns 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that the ignition failed to recognized the key, causing the anti-theft system to activate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired.the vin was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 98,000.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact attempted to start the vehicle but it would not start. After ten minutes, the vehicle started. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was repaired (repair details were not given). The failure continued to occur intermittently. In addition, the contact stated that the seat heater on the driver's seat would involuntarily turn on and the seat shifted while she made turns or applied the brakes. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the failure were repaired, however the failure continued. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000 and the current mileage was approximately 72,000.
Engine check light came on for very short period of time then went out.about a week later it came on again.went to chevy dealer who ran a quick code check which indicated the number 5 cylinder was misfiring.the chevy dealer indicated the engine/power train warrranty had expired and the problem could be from injectors, plugs, coil and valves. Initial computer check would cost $135. Vehicle is sitting in my garage awaiting money to get it checked.
Was driving in a small town and the vehicle just lost all power with no warning. It cost me over 600.00 to get repaired and i'm thankful i was not on the highway going 60 or 70 and i'm thankful there was no vehicles behind me.also the key won't come out of the ignition after i drive it for a while and this wears down my battery and i have to get a jump. Has there been any recalls or other complaints about these problems.
Driving down the road at 20 degrees outside and the heater fan quit. Had cut out a couple times before and come back on.
As i was reaching a light to slow down behind a vehicle, my car up in dies on me out of nowhere. I was unsure as to what happened seeing as i just intended to slow down for my hummer to just completely die on me. I had it in drive but it died how it was (my speedometer was still sitting at 40 mph). I had never had this issue before so i was confused in scared because when my vehicle stopped, nothing would turn on not even my hazard lights. I was unable to communicate with other drivers to let them know there was an issue with my vehicle as i was stuck in the middle of the road with the key not even clicking to the ignition. I called the police to bring a detour and a tow tuck.
After reading all if these complaints i decided to write mine. Probably about a little over a year ago the first thing that started was my tpm sensor would come on and then go off i took it to the tire store and they said this could be going bad ok well then it stopped , next i got into my vehicle from grocery shopping and my car would not start in the hot summer in my vehicle ( thank god my 2 young kids weren't with me) after several attempts it finally started, this happens a lot more then once until one day when it was freezing cold outside in wonderful wyoming my key would not come out of the ignition, i had to unplug my battery until i could take it to the shop ! then after i get my car back a few days later my blower to my heater quit working for a fewminutes and then i smelled a burning smell, i called the repair shop again to take it back and there was a charred wire and they had to replace what was being recalled.( i received the 1st letter about 6 months later) , which i still haven't received a 2nd letter! now i'm starting to have a issue of my car dying when i'm slowing down to stop at a stop sign or to turn!!! i happened to get on her and read all the complaints and nothing has been done!!! i have 2 small children and this is absolutely disturbing, i am really regretting not getting rid of this vehicle last year!! i beg that you all please look into these, before someone dies or anything else!! ( it shouldn't even get to that point). I had about 70,000 miles when this all started and noe i have 84,999. My mph was 0-30 !!!
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that when the key was in the ignition and turned to the on position, the pass lock warning light illuminated and the engine failed to start. After 15 minutes, the contact was able to restart the engine. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the theft deterrence system failed. The vehicle was repaired several times, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
I have a 2007 h3 hummer with 81000 miles. This past summer i got into my truck and put on my air conditioning on high. Nothing came out of the vents. Blower motor wouldn't even move. I did some research on the topic and it all lead to a burnt out blower motor resister. I had purchased a new one and replaced it to find out that there was a small fire in the plug from it getting to hot. This is a common problem with the h3. I talked to gm safety and they won't do anything and bout it because it's out of warranty due to age and miles. There is no reason for this not to be a recall issue. No blower motor means no defrost on your windshield. Due to cold winters in new york you need the defrost. Now my trucks blower motor works when it wants to due to faulty wire harness in truck. I have pictures of the plug and old resister. Thank you
Passlock problem (gm security) causing the vehicle to stall at any speed with no power brakes or steering till you coast to the shoulder and try it again might go 1 mile might go 100 miles before it happens again, passlock light flashes when vehicle stalls, tons of people with the same problem on the internet, this has happened 100's of times till i took it to the only service mechanic shop on our island in alaska and it has sat there for a month no one can figure out the problem and no dealership has come through on the phone to help either
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated while traveling approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was not able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician diagnosed that the pcm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the key became lodged in the ignition causing the battery to drain. The vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the shifter needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.
I purchased this 2007 hummer h3 on june 2016 with 77,000 miles on it. On 11/13/2016 with 80,300+ miles , i experienced the first no start condition due to "passlock theft-deterrent system" indicator blinking when i tried to start the vehicle. I looked up the owners manual on page 100 and it indicated to wait 10 minutes before starting the vehicle again. The vehicle started after waiting for 10 minutes. The second no start condition with "passlock theft-deterrent system" indicator blinking again was on 12/05/2016 with 80,900+ miles and outside temperature was freezing point at that time and i have to wait 10 minutes inside the cold vehicle before i can start it again.
3-4 months ago my a/c unit started making a loud noise with a burning smell when i would put my a/c switch on level 3 or 4. It would sound like if my a/c unit was going to blow up. The next day i received a recall letterfrom the hummer company descriving the same symptoms my h3 a/c unit is having.i called the hummer company and asked them how long is going to take for them to fix this problem they stated in a very rude manner that they will fix it when ever they get the part. This is the worst experience ever i . I asked them if it can take more than a year and they responded we do not know. I got very upset because its not fair that i spend a lot of my money to buy my h3 and if its a recall why they dont help me to fix my problem, i explain to them that the weather in texas is very hot and i been without a/c since and they dont care. This is not fair please help me out. I dont even know what to do anymore, please advise. Help!!!!!!!!
Passlock issues not allowing the vehicle to start. Wait 10min with multiple attempts.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact smelled burning plastic. The vehicle became filled with the odor. The dealer diagnosed that the connector model, blower switch, and hvac unit melted and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.
I was in a parking lot, i started the vehicle and turned the air conditioner on. It worked but suddenly stopped blowing air. I took it in and it was diagnosed as the blower motor resistor had gone out. I had it replaced only to have the same thing happen again one week later but this time i smelled something burning. The wiring had burned going to the resistor. The technician informed me that this happens often with these vehicles and he doesn't understand why there isn't a recall. After researching the problem, i found that this is a common and potentially very dangerous problem with the hummer h3. There needs to be an investigation and recall so that no one gets hurt. If i had a passenger in my vehicle at the time of this incident, they would have received burns on their feet from the wiring malfunction and burning. I again am having to pay to get this corrected. The battery continues to be dead: sometimes starts, sometimes doesn't. I've replaced the battery twice and problem remains. How many complaints does it take for the manufacturer to remedy this problem? i love my hummer, but i am afraid to go anywhere in it because i don't want to get stranded when it is below freezing outside. Currently i have to carry a spare battery and jumper cables in my backseat just to get it started when this problem acts up. Also affecting my ability to work and take care of my family. Strongly suggest a class-action law suit against the manufacturer to correct this problem. Enough is enough!!
The anti-theft passlock system is faulty and will not let me start my car.it has happened twice since i got the car in december of last year.going on-line to see what to do about it made me aware of the overwhelming amount of gm car owners that this has affected.some being stranded for hours and days of not being able to start their cars due to the faulty passlock system.it is happening to all makes and models of gm cars.i called gm and they weren't interested in doing anything about the problem unless you force them to.please check into this and help those of us who get stranded in places (sometimes scary places) because our car won't start.thank you.
Vehicle would not start called dealership where car was purchased - replaced ignition switch after diagnosis. Since then have had repeated episodes of vehicle ignition/electrical just shutting completely down on different occasions. I could be sitting or approaching a stop light vehicle shuts down upon taking off or idling down, vehicle also shuts down when making turns as well. It occurs so infrequently and has no pattern but it is indeed a safety concern because i have to put on the flashers and take time to restart the engine all before someone runs into me.
Hello,my name is [xxx],and we are having the same issues as many seem to be having as we just seen on google and more, got in the hummer this morning started up fine, stopped at gas station for a drink on way to work, went back to car and it would not start, after several tries it finally did, making me late for work.have had the 2007 hummer h3 for maybe 4 days!!! and already having issues?information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Today i am reaching out to you for your help. This letter is in reference to the gm recall on the hummer h3 a/c module resistor that was issued in july of 2015.my wife and i have reached out to gm on multiple occasions with no resolution in site.i ask that the nhtsa demand gm establish a timeline for the completion of a corrected part and that gm provide an adequate alternative option to gm customers faced with this issue until the part is available. My concern is over my well-being as well as my families.on monday august 31, 2015, i was driving home from work when i noticed a burning smell coming from underneath my glove box.after i pulled over and examined closer i could see the issue was from the a/c module resister that was recently recalled.the resister had burned through part of the harness attachment.upon reaching out to gm, they stated i only had two courses of action:1) to replace the part with another faulty part (which i would have to pay for) and hope that the part does not short / catch fire before they are able to come out with the corrected part (which would be free).2) wait for a corrected part to become available.the main issues with the second option are that gm has no timeline for the completion/availability of the corrected ac module resistor (customer service said anywhere from 1 month to multiple years). This would leave the customer (without heat or a/c) for an extended period of time. My current work commute totals 2 hours every day.where i live this becomes problematic due to severe summer / winter climates (as i write to you there are heat warnings in effect). Gm has known about this issue since 2009, yet they failed to act.now the consumer is forced to face the consequences of their ill planning and neglect while gm continues to act inept.please help gm realize that gm customer lives matter.
On 3/13/2020 my wife was driving our 2007 hummer h3 when the engine compartment and dash area caught on fire.the blower motor connector module had been replaced recently as part of a safety recall.the vehicle was in motion and she had just made a left turn.although the part had been replaced, i still believe that this recall issue was the cause of said fire.the fire department called it an electrical issue.there was no warning at all.this was traumatic for my wife she had to jump out of the vehicle and had a miscarriage.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3.the contact was notified that his vehicle caught fire while parked in the garage.the fire originated under the hood near the battery area.the vehicle was destroyed.the fire department filed incident number 09060410 and the manufacturer filed case number 71-731425623, reference number 6744389.the failure and current mileages were 33,184.
Ignition switch on this vehicle is failing same as on other gm vehicles which have been recalled.switch setting changes into off position shutting off vehicle when a moderate bump or dip in the road is encountered, shutting off vehicle and locking steering wheel.gm refuses to honor recall for ignition since this vehicle was not listed under active recall/lawsuit settlement.5 occurrences of this shut down to-date.gm complaint number 8-2272247746 was resolvedin their opinion by stating to me this vehicle was not covered under the umbrella of the current gm ignition recall.the stated that they share my safety concern and believe i should have the vehicle serviced at my expense. They suggested contacting safe cars.gov to attempt adding this vehicle to active recall.please help.

Several times, while parked, the passlock security system will randomly disables the engine from starting. After waiting 10 minutes the system will allow the vehicle to start. This makes starting the vehicle in an emergency very unreliable and dangerous.
I don't know why i have to wait 10 min.before the truck will start this is crazy and no one wants to fix the issue.i have had it to 2 different dealers and they say its all the hummer h3s that this problem is in the computer and will cost me over $800 to fix thats crazy this should be put for recall not good business i have children that if theres an emergancy my hummer wont start. Ever since i purchased this vehicle, the vehicle has stalled at between 25mph and 0. I work for the us census bureau, permanent worker and i travel through all types of weather conditions in a day, from 9,000 ft mountains covered in snow to desert gravel roads, mesas, cliffs. Over the past two years the vehicle has shut off while traversing mountain roads covered in snow with no guard rails, and three times, when the engine shut off, i lost steering and came within inches of going off the side (cliffs) of these roads, not to mention in town, when my engine shuts off as i drive, i have come close to hitting other vehicles or poles as i lose power steering on a turn..i have to drive about 90 miles one way to get it serviced, while under warranty, i had it "repaired" about five times, no success, once warranty expired, gm dealers 90 miles away were still willing to inspect vehicle since problems started while under full gm warranty, but now, they refuse to give me a rental and tell me they do not know what the problem is.my local gm dealer (alamogordo) refuses to inspect vehicle and thus i am required to make a 180 mile round trip, but now, even dealer tells me they do not know what the issue is and they cannot reproduce the problem in the shop.i took about 6 videos with my droid after the problem happens, because the problem lingers for about 15 minutes, then it stops and the vehicle works fine.the videos how the rpm's going up and down, up and down, until the car shuts off, i restart it, then it shuts off again, over and over again. Problems usually appear in the am,as i drive off for the first time, before it is driven a good distance, but can and has happened at any moment.very dangerous and i do not feel safe each morning as i leave my mountain home, especially in cold snow weather.

The radiator has a crack in it which is a very common issue...needs to be recalled.my h3 was idling rough and would shut off.had to replace throttle body and solenoid.the anti-theft acts up and the h3 won't start have to wait 10 minutes.the ac blower and connector burnt paid for it to get fixed then the recall comes out 7 days later....still haven't been refunded for that.i have all the issues on my 2007 h3 that should all be recalled and fixed at gm expense.sunroof drains get clogged all the time and have water leak onto the floor which makes the abs light trigger on and off.issue after issue which gm doesn't take any responsibility for.it looks like it's time to sell the hummer h3!!
The car wouldnt start because the passlock system engages and then you have to wait 10 min for it to reset, then it will start. The vehicle was in park and off.

Just had my hummer in 2 weeks ago at the gm dealership to have the ignition switch replaced. Had been dealing with it stranding me and my kids for 10 minute periods long enough. ( sometimes longer) while it was in there we also had to get the radiator replaced due to it being cracked. Now 2 weeks later my check engine light and traction light have come on. The traction light saying service sab system. After reading all the hummer problems i can not believe that there was not a recall on both the ignition switch and radiator.the ignition switch being faulty put me and my kids in situations in places for long periods of time that were not safe and at times we were very cold since we canhave below zero weather in colorado. The ignition not recognizing the key causing the anti theft system to activate is recall issue and gm you should be taking responsibility for this!!
My vehicle has a very common issue with a faulty resistor/wiring harness on the blower motor.there is a safety recall for the same problem on other gm trucks & vehicles and the problem is widely known/reported on the internet.for some reason gm refuses to issue/fix this recall for the hummer h3?the problem causes the wiring to get so hot to melt the insulation, which could cause a fire.i park my vehicle in an attached garage.
I keep getting a code that states that my truck runs with a low engine temperature. Plus my truck has had a leak from some where around the lower windshield that is causing electrical problems and soaking wet floors! we had a mechanic look for the leak and try to fix this issue but was unable to find the problem and we were also told by a few dealership that they have seen a lot of h3 hummers with the same problem! also we are having issues that causes the traction signal to come on regularly and it causes my truck to lock up. It has almost caused us to wreck several times! it's very scary to drive my hummer! every time we have any of these problems we are always in motion and it's always on the highway when we are driving at higher speeds. It never seems to happen while driving around town!! this has been continuing going on ever since we purchased this vehicle in august 2014
Vehicle won't start.the passlock prevents the vehicle from starting.the car alarm will start while i'm outside the vehicle and then the vehicle won't start.i replaced the battery but the passlock still makes the alarm go off while its locked in the driveway.

The hvac blower motor resistor connector located under the glove box was burnt, the red plastic on the harness was melted.the reason i became aware of this is because the blower quit working.i lookedthis up online and found it is a common issue.i feel anytime you have the potential for a fire thereshould be a recall.i feel it is fair to assume the new resistor and wiring harness will do the samething since it is the exact same design.
Repeat no start due to faulty security system. Had to go to emergency room and could not go due to faulty security or "pass lock" issue and this is apparently known. Why is there no recall, this is a safety issue!

Hummer h3 has passlock security problem when driving. When i drive the hummer at any speed my hummer locks out and activates the security lock and looses power for 10 seconds and gains power again or looses power completely forcing me to pull over and turn my car back on.

Bought 2007 hummer h3 at the end of february as is in chicago at net motor cars addison illinois for 14000 and drove it home 150 miles away and was told by dealer to take it in to gm dealer and have my abs system flashed by them and all warning lights will go away gm poages had my car for two weeks cost 560 dollars to repair then a day later check engine light came on took it to a shop and they said if gm had it checking for codes they should have seen the wire if they had it on machine looking for codes because that wire had to be in place to read the codes so he told me to take it back to them to repair it for free.i told him no for him to go ahead and fix it for a hundredbecause if i take it back to gm poage what other trick do they have up there sleve if they fix it.so he did and it showed multiple misfires and a steady misfire on cylinder 5 told them to fix it costing 1929.90 car has been in two different shops two weeks at the gm dealer poage auto mall in decatur illinois very disappointed on there behavior of being shady if they had it hooked up for two weeks on a code reader why didn't they see misfires.will never do business with them ever they lost a 2000 dollar job and my future services like changing oil ect. This is bad business.getting my car this week from south shores audo which will have my business in the future.gm or at least decatur poages auto mall should be investigated by trying to screw over a woman and who else they can they pulled wire so i would bring back to get radio replaced as i was because i only had so much money to replace i think when i was going to bring back in for a refurbished trade in radio they were going to install it then hook wire back up and surprise me with the misfires and a probably 3000 dollar job.also south shores auto told me nothing wrong with radio

Hummer will not start, engine turns over normally, but will not start. Wait exactly 10 minutes and it starts up fine. Can happen any time, at the gas station, first thing in the morning. Learned that if the security light on the dash blinks when the key is turned on, the vehicle will not start. If light stays on, the vehicle starts. Have watched for this at every start up, can now tell when the vehicle won't start. This is a major problem with gm vehicles with pass lock since the late 1990s, gm need to take responsibility for this problem now!!!!!!!!!!

I own a 2007 hummer h3 with 66000 miles on it. It has been diagnosed as having a bad head due to the use of soft metals for the cylinder sleeve. Due to this, there is sudden reduced power. The cost of this fix is about $4500.00. My truck began with a check engine light on (autozone) said it was a misfire on cylinder #5. I went to the local dealer and asked them to look at the truck. They diagnosed it as a #5 cylinder having the compression leak of 90%. In looking on the internet (at hummer forums), i observed that quite a few hummer h3 owners were writing in about their experience with misfires and bad heads, at about the same mileage. I think this needs to be looked into and that gm should be ordered to do a recall. This is the same problem they had with the 3.5l engines they used in their pre-2007 hummer h3 and colorado. I am going to write my congress rep and ask that with the problems that gm is having right now, that this also be moved forward and that they order an investigation. Any other hummer h3 owners with the same problems should do the same thing.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle started to overheat and stalled. The contact had the vehicle serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility) prior to experiencing the failure. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

I purchased this vehicle, new in july 2007. Since that time i have meticulously maintained the vehicle.on 7/28/14, parked at home.got out and smelled coolant vaporizing (distinct smell).i am a retired master mechanic, with 44 years experience (currently age 60).i examined the radiator, rinsed it off and dried it, pressurized the system to discover a hairline crack in the upper, plastic tank of the radiator in an area with no impingement of other components, no trauma, and no rough use, ever.i caught it at the very first manifestation, solely by the smell.examining the vehicle closely to discover while my radiator had only this hairline crack in a location of no-stress and no impingement of other components.research further to discover this is a very common problem with the h3, from 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 models all in the 50,000 to 100,000 mile readings.the replacement of the radiator at local gm dealer, with cooling system service was extremely expensive as the replacement of the radiator requires the receiver dryer of the air conditioning system to be disconnected which requires discharge and recharge of refrigerant r124a. I saved the defective radiator.there is no other wear nor damage.the internal cores were clear and clean like new.no obstructions, dirt nor wear. In other words i was forced to replace a perfectly good radiator for 1 hairline crack on the upper plastic tank.this repair, including all courtesy discounts from the selling dealership, as i had been an auto repair shop owner and loyal customer for 30 years of my life, cost me $966.57.nhtsa should do a formal defect investigation on all the hummer h3 models and any / all other gm like-type vehicles with the plastic tank radiators which could cause a serious accident or death.

There have been numerous complaints to gm about this exact issue, and has fallen on deaf ears.many vehicle forum users complain of the exact issue as well, with zero assistance from gm as seen here: https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-c8039_ds531571i am concerned that if the sporadic security lockdown (passlock) occurs while driving, fuel is cut off from the running engine, speed/steering/braking will be minimized, and the possibility of a crash is increased exponentially.please advise gm there needs to be a fix for this and ensure they comply!thank you for your time.i believe my photos of the blower motor fan resistor being burnt helped get gm issue a recall, and i hope this will urge them to fix as well
While driving at 65 miles per hour the vehicle dash lit up all service lights the vehicle went into reduced power mode not allowing the vehicle to exceed 40 mph and abs sensors came on staying traction fail, abs fail, began to stutter and stall. Took to shop. Vehicle running codes for spark plugs, replaced spark plugs. Few weeks later did it again, this timesaying throttle body. Replaced it, a month later did it again, each time in major traffic having to pull off roadway to avoid an accident. This time says misfiring, throttle body, abs, tpms, thermostat, etc. Take it to have compression test run and system says cylinder failure. Do research on issue and find that there are hundreds of complaints about this online having caused accidents and thousand of dollars spent by consumers after having accidents but no known fatality so gm will no recall or honor the issue repairs. Almost all of them happening at 100k miles.
My vehicle has a cracked radiator and according to other hummer owners this is a common defect that happens to these vehicles. His over heating cuased me to pull over on a busy highway were i could of been hit and killed, total failer of vehicle electronics, gmc does not want to work on the vehicle that is not under warranty, because of the many problems wth this vehicle. This crack is were it is wearing near the motor.
Smelled radiator fluent when i parked into the drive way, popped the hood and saw that the liquid splashed all over the engine and parts as well as on top of the plastic fan cover, which seemed odd. Couldn't find the leak in the hose.looked at the hummer forum that i'm a member of and lord behold there was a big topic of radiators cracking and breaking in the same places with the 2007 models. No recall has been issued, so no recall has been submitted.but it's a well known defective radiator problem that gm knows about but won't recall. So they decided to make a new radiator that fixes the problem for the 2007 hummers. The problem is the middle pin that holds the radiator rubs the neck and starts a cracked under the styrofoam, thus the right drivers side cracks in the same spot as well on the plastic side. Hundreds of h3 owners had this happen to them and post pics and what not, but still no recall. This problem is ongoing and nothing is being done. I have spoke to the hummer customer service and they contacted the local gm and they scheduled my scheduled date to take my h3 in feb 17 2014, @ 8 am at the local gm dealership and hopefully they will fix this issue and not charged me to fix due to the fact that they know the problem and have done nothing to fix it. But it's been know that they will not fix the radiator and they say it's due to climate which is false because every h3 owner has it break in the same place, and have submitted countless tickets.
About 2 years after i bougth car from dealer ,the car cranks but wont start you have to wait 20minutes and it starts today it left me stranded over 60 miles away ,it has being doing this every few months ,i saw a forum with hundreds of people having same problem and dealer says it doesent find anything that's what i was told two times at dealer ,from the forum it seems to be a faulty passlock security problem or a faulty egnition switch on several years of hummers ,gm needs to recall this because is causing lots of expenses to a lot of people including me
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility) and stated that the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 140.000.
My radiator tank cracked right across the top compromising my cooling system.this turned into a bigger problem as the transmission oil cooler was not operating correctly and eventually destroying my transmission.i had to spend over $2k to have a refurbished tranny and new radiator installed.
Driving down the road and it stopand it would not start engine lock up
Oil light comes on when idle. Truck loses pressure. No dealership solution.
Takata recall miss fire ignition coil theres way to many complaints about this if theres nothing done about this its the last time im buying a gm automotive to get it fix cost almost $3000 dollars thats not good for your business
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving various speeds and approaching a stop, the vehicle overheated. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted to the side of the road, powered off the vehicle, and waited for a few minutes to restart it and resume driving. The vehicle was taken to stingray chevrolet bartow (1475 w main st, bartow, fl 33830, (863) 800-9999) where it was diagnosed that the speed sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic where the thermostat was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000.
The vehicle just lost power and almostlost ignition while driving 50 miles an hour. Diagnostic code state, misfire in cylinder one. Valve springs ( rocker arm) are breaking prematurely causing a leaking valve problem. Mechanic also noticed other springs were fatiqued causing a looser than normal seating. Gm service manager mention a spring problem on 2006 2007 rendevous. One of the largest complaints with the hummer 3 is this leaky valve syndrom which the dealers know about. Some occuring with the vehicle having only 30,000plus miles.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, exhaust fumes filled the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was advised to the contact that the manifold gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximated failure mileage was 160,000.
If returning soon after shut off ; it will not restart. Have to wait awhile for it to restart. It's weird because there are no other problems. It has been doing this for awhile now.
Less than 1 year ago, i had the radiator and transmission replaced in my vehicle.i have recently noticed the smell of antifreeze coming from my hood after long trips.the radiator that was installed in my vehicle 10 months and 8k miles ago has developed a crack in the top tank.there is dried coolant spray across the top of my engine and a crack forming right behind the lip of the frame of the truck.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that the vehicle lost acceleration power. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was determined that the valve seals in the second and fifth cylinder heads had failed.the dealer stated that the fifth cylinder head was the most dominant and caused the majority of the failure. The contact stated that both cylinder heads had a 70 percent leak. The failure was reported to the manufacturer. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 65,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.
Vehicle misfires frequently. Engine will nearly stall at idle due to misfires and shake the whole vehicle. Lack of power and efficiency. And juddering while accelerating. It is known to gm and many people have had to resort to cylinder head replacements costing hundreds at a minimum.
Vehicle instrument panel warning shows: service traction controlreduced powerstability system failedvehicle misfires when this happens sometimesvehicle shuts off in the middle of the roadwhen trying to restart it does not restart sometimesafter this
The radiator has a crack in it which is a very common issue...needs to be recalled.my h3 was idling rough and would shut off.had to replace throttle body and solenoid.the anti-theft acts up and the h3 won't start have to wait 10 minutes.the ac blower and connector burnt paid for it to get fixed then the recall comes out 7 days later....still haven't been refunded for that.i have all the issues on my 2007 h3 that should all be recalled and fixed at gm expense.sunroof drains get clogged all the time and have water leak onto the floor which makes the abs light trigger on and off.issue after issue which gm doesn't take any responsibility for.it looks like it's time to sell the hummer h3!!
The radiator developed a stress crack and subsequently failed.dealer advises this is a common problem for this make and model and they stock repair part accordingly.dealer advised to report incident and enough reports may prompt special service repair or recall.
Rebuilt transmission twice cleaned throttle body replaced exhaust manifold two o2 sensors replaced the radiator the heater core a fuel pump relay and this engine light still will not turn off it says torque converter clutch solenoid i'm disgusted already gm fix ur [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
2007 hummer h3. Consumer writes seeking reimbursement for repairs done prior to safety recall being issued. *ld
First the entire computer system stopped working. Had to replace thr pcm. Then my blower started throwing hot air when on cold. Had to install separate to resolve that issue. Had to re-build the transmission twice due to leak of coolant into the transmission. This truck has been a nightmare so far.
44,000 miles check engine light came on . Took to dealer i had a cylinder 5 misfire code p300 couple thousand miles later my truck was still showing multiple misfires. I had to replace the radiator because it was leaking and thermostat at 46,000, april 2011 at 65,000miles my transmission went out completely and had to be replaced july 2012air stop working took to dealer they saidi had to replace the fan blower motor resistor.researched and founded this was a known problem for hummers the motor gets to hot and melt causing the fan blower to go out . Several months later check engine light came on several more times took to the dealer said they couldn't find problem and cleared code my check engine light came on again so i took to auto zone diagnostic showed cylinder 5 coil multiple misfire so i had spark plugs changed alone with all five ignition coils. Couple months later check engine light came on again took it to dealer diagnostic test reveal code po 300 again and couple other codesdealer said my truck had an emission leak.multiple misfire ,cylinder 5 and a small crack in the head. I didn't understand how that magically happen. I paid the dealer to fix this on march 2014. A week later check engine light came on again . Took to dealer diagnostic showed emission leak apparently they didn't fix it the first time. Week later check engine light came on again took to dealer and diagnostic test reveal torque converter clutch solenoid .dealer said i need transmission replaced. I'm confused at this point the dealer put a newtransmission 3 years prior .my truck has never been over the road. I only drive locally. Now at 103,000 miles the dealer is saying i need another transmission . Something is not right here. After researching i've found thousand of hummer owners experiencing the same problems i've experienced. Something needs to be done to protect consumers.
My hummer stalls and dies at various times.this is dangerous and know one can seem to tell me why it dies while driving.i take great care of my truck and me i have metal shavings in oil. Dying in an intersection with children is dangerous. This needs to be addressed.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle shook violently and stalled without warning. The vehicle could not be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine or the cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,800. Updated 03/10/15*lj updated 6/17/2015
Noticed radiator fluid dripping underneath vehicle. Opened the hood and found radiator coolant had been blown all over interior engine compartment.enough coolant remained in the reservoir to prevent overheating.i noticed the incident just in time.
2007 hummer h3 has vibration in the brake and accelerator pedal.the consumer also stated the vehicle overheated while driving in traffic.the consumer stated she continues to feel a kick in the pedal. The dealer was unable to fix the problems on the vehicle.updated 01/18/11.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the engine stalled without warning and restarted. The failure occurred four times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and they were unable to duplicate or determine the cause of failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I was sitting in the line at my son's school, been sitting there 2 - 3 minutes, and i smelled coolant.looked at my gauge and it was riding just below mid-point....normal.got my son and started home.sitting at the red light, i smelled coolant again.this time i knew it was my car.we went to a service station and ask if someone could check to see if we had a leak.they pulled my h3 into the back and hooked up a pressure "tool" to the radiator and low and behold, but a hairline crack on the upper driver's side of the radiator.the mechanic laughed and said i was the 2nd one this week and the 6th one since they opened 6 months ago.he said that h3s were known to have radiator issues because the radiators were plastic!seriously...plastic!i was given a quote of $1,100 to replace the radiator with another plastic one and that would give me a 2 year or 24,000 mile warranty.i brought the truck back to my house so my husband could look at it.i did some research on the internet and it seems that this is a well known problem with hummers and yet gm has not done a recall.i found a number for hummer customer service and called them.when i told the man that answered i had coolant leaking, he said "oh, give me your zip code and i will find a local dealership that can replace the radiator."no questions...he knew what the problem was already.he went on to say that we would have to "invest" in a diagnostic and if the dealership determined it was a manufacturers defect, that hummer might "participate" in the repair costs.i would think with this being such a common problem, a recall would be in order and possibly a replacement radiator that isn't plastic!
I was driving on the express way when i noticed my engine rev real high. I looked at the rpm's and it was almost red lined. I let off the gas imediatly and came to a slow crawl and found that it would not shift out of second gear. Pulled it off the road and shut it off to get out to find that there was transmission fluid and radiator coolant pouring from the transmission. Had it towed to a mechanic to find out that the radiator was bad which caused the transmission and coolant to mix between the two. This causing the transmission to be destroyed along with the radiator. For this vehical being this low on miles this should have never happend. Gm has made a faulty radiator and something needs to be done.
Radiator is cracked on driver side due to rubbing of metal parts.
I had dropped my daughter off at school then went to the gas station and i smelled something like it was burning and i thought it was out side. When i came out of the gas station there was smoke rolling out of my hummer . I had jumped in and moved the vehicle away from the pumps so they would not blow up and hurt the patrons around us. The fire dept came and so did the police. They told me that the blow had started from behind the glove compartment and was on fire.
The car shut off as i was making a left hand turn with no warning or indication. Complete loss of power.
Ac/heat blower fan resistor faulty.causes blower to stop working.the short may cause a fire.many complaints of this issue on the internet.may be time to pursue a class action suit.
On the summer of 2007, i was driving on the freeway and i had to pullover to the side because my hummer h3 started overheated. I did the proper procedure of refilling coolant to my car, but within 4 hours it leaked. I was driving for 30 min. With windows down. Not using the air conditioner. I took it to the dealership because i was still under warranty and supposedly "fixed" the problem. It is april 2008 and the other day my car shut down on me again because my car overheated. I checked all cooling placed and i refilled them with dex-cool coolant. The next morning i checked the coolant tanks and they were empty.

Hummer h3 has passlock security problem when driving. When i drive the hummer at any speed my hummer locks out and activates the security lock and looses power for 10 seconds and gains power again or looses power completely forcing me to pull over and turn my car back on.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving approximately 20 mph, the air conditioner blower seized. The failure occurred numerous times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000.

The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving at an unknown speed, the air conditioner failed to blow air out of the vents. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the resistor needed to be replaced. While inspecting the vehicle, the technician noticed that the resistor was completely melted. The failure recurred twice after the initial repairs were completed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that she would have to wait until the parts needed for nhtsa campaign number: 15v421000 (visibility) became available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While the vehicle was parked with the engine off, the radio turned on independently. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000.
Third brake light recall- the third brake light on 2007 hummer h3 lights up halfway and was purchased in september 2016. The third brake light worked then and is 60,124k miles on it. I went to have it inspected and they told me it failed due to the third brake light being only half lit up. I have done extensive research and i have come to find that it is a common problem among hummers in general. I feel that this need to be fixed by general motors due to there fault. This is a safety issue! i should not have to shell out, nor should anyone else $200.00 for a light that is defective.
Started out right rear blinker. Grew to both rear blinkers. Then to all systems worked while brakes applied, then to rear blinker fuse blows when brakes applied. The bulbs were changed but not damaged ,diagnosis is body control module. This is a recurring problem with this suv and is a serious safety hazard to have brake light failure and blinker failure. Should be recalled.

Our 2007 h3 had cracked radiator with hose leaking coolant causing the overheating.we have never driven the vehicle off-roading and no warning light was displayed for this issue.instead, we brought it in for a different issue with the fuel line and discovered the cracked radiator, which could have caused a bigger problem if it had gone undiscovered for longer period of time.

Exhaust manifold bolts are breaking off the block!.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While driving 35 mph, the engine oil indicator illuminated and an odor emitted from the vehicle. The contact replaced the oil and took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that there was a small hole in the manifold, which burned out the oil. The contact paid out of pocket to have the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was notified and filed a claim. The contact was referred to nhtsa to file a complaint. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Went out to start h3, turned key, check engine light came on, the battery light came on and the anti-theft system light came on. Passlock/security system inside the steering column is bad. Car won't start. Is unsafe and will strand owner without warning by not starting.goes into security mode. Was told to wait 10 min and try again. Can't turn it off at gas pump for fear of it locking me out and not starting. I had this happen to me 4 times in one day. So many complaints all over the internet and people trying to fix this issue. There is even a company selling a part to bypass this and the security system which again is another issue.gm is clearly aware of this issue. This needs to be recalled. Stranding people can be very dangerous. If there is an emergency and the car won't start. All around bad business by gm for not issuing this recall.this has nothing to do with mileage which gm manager said on the phone. These h3's are know from this fresh off the dealership floor. People are being forced to take it to a dealership for repair and replacing the part when the labor costs more than the part. Seem like a monopoly for gm and its dealerships. I have seen anywhere from 1500-2000.00 to install and rectify this bad part at the gm dealerships.
When i slow down to stop at a stop sign or slow down to turn my vehicle has been dying.
My vehicle is a 2007 h3 hummer and was not manufactured with rear, child safety locks for the doors.the dealership, as well as the manufacturer assistance number can not provide a retro fit to correct the issue and only provided an option to purchase a new vehicle to correct the issue.i have a 2 yr child that continues to open the door while the vehicle is in operation.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that the door locks failed persistently. The contact also mentioned that the passenger side window broke frequently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the cause of the failures was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. ...updated 05/17/17

Had purchased vehicle 3 days prior from individual. Drove to el paso tx1 approximately 80 miles drove around town doing errands. Transmission started slipping badly, i pulled into a wal-mart and went to check the transmission fluid. Vehicle had a compression type dipstick. When i touched the lever on the dipstick it shot up approximately 8 inches and showered my right hand with very hot transmission fluid. This caused second degree burns to the palm and fingers, this made a trip to the emergency room necessary. The owner of the transmission shop told me that in his 20 years in the business he had never seen a transmission get so hot as to melt the filter. This one had melted the filter.
Noticed radiator fluid dripping underneath vehicle. Opened the hood and found radiator coolant had been blown all over interior engine compartment.enough coolant remained in the reservoir to prevent overheating.i noticed the incident just in time.
My radiator tank cracked right across the top compromising my cooling system.this turned into a bigger problem as the transmission oil cooler was not operating correctly and eventually destroying my transmission.i had to spend over $2k to have a refurbished tranny and new radiator installed.
First the entire computer system stopped working. Had to replace thr pcm. Then my blower started throwing hot air when on cold. Had to install separate to resolve that issue. Had to re-build the transmission twice due to leak of coolant into the transmission. This truck has been a nightmare so far.

The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. While making a right turn at 35 mph the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver without warning. The contact pulled over and discovered that the power steering fluid cap failed to remain secure and caused the power steering fluid to spew out. The cap was secured, but the failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. This vehicle has had transmission issues since 25,000 miles. No code ever indicated so dealers would not investigate transmission until 1st and 2nd gears failed. Problem of incorrect shifting continued with several stops at the dealership. No code no service. Now the transmission slammed in reverse initiating a code (speed sensor pass/fail). After agreeing to replace the portion of the transmission that contains the shorted speed sensor, it was discovered the transmission was contaminated by radiator fluid. Now the radiator, not covered by warranty, also must be replaced with the complete transmission. Researching hummer forums, this is apparently a known issue with the speed sensor and radiator contamination that is being ignored.
The contact owns a 2007 hummer h3. The contact stated that while driving, the power reduction and stability control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle decelerated independently. The vehicle was pulled over and restarted. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to jim glover chevrolet located at 707 w 51st st, tulsa, ok 74107, where a diagnostic test was performed. The technician diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed an independent mechanic who rebuilt the transmission. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Battery discharges self. Has been in the shop over 6 weeks. Nobody knows what is wrong with it. Before that 2 time it stopped suddenly while driving 25 to 50 miles per hour.
Yesterday mavis was visiting our daughter (brenda) in killeen. Brenda owns one of those fancy h3 burnt orange hummers with all the doodads. It looks like it just rolled off of fort hood ready for warfare. If fact it attacked my lovely demure wife with no provocation whatsoever.now realize i was dutifully working at my job while mavis was out but she swears by the story and at me.mavis and brenda jump in the hummer to go see the doctor in temple which is about a 20 mile trip. Brenda was driving. Shortly after leaving the house mavis starts squirming around in the seat complaining about how hot the seat was and trying to figure out how to turn the darn seat heater off. She thought maybe she was having hot flashes. Brenda pulls off the side of the highway and runs around the hummer, hoping no one runs over them, to turn off the seat heater. She turns the heater off or so she thought. She heads down the road again when mavis hollers that her bottom was burning off. She pulls off the road again and they finally get the darn thing turned off. The seat and mavis? bottom start to cool down. After visiting the family doctor they returned to killeen and mavis jumped in our car to head for home. The 2 hour trip from killeen to red oak took nearly 6 hours. Some knot head damaged a bridge on i35 shutting down the highway. I was watching tv when mavis got home and she immediately runs in the bedroom pulling down her slacks and she shows me 1st and 2nd degree burns on the back of her thighs and her bottom. The burns look very painful and very ugly. I took pictures. Some pictures are of the burns.today brenda called gm to inform them of the attack. They think a heat sensor must have failed but we?ll know more after they take a look at it. It?s amazing that neither the seat nor her clothing showed any heat damage.mavis is doing well but is a bit tender. She is going to be sore for a few days.

The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The failure occurred twice previously, but did not result in a crash. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000. The vin was not available.

On november 2, 2008 at approximately 9:30 pm, i was pulling into a parking space at the local wal-mart and as i turned right to get into the space i heard a loud bang proceeded with my hummer h3 abruptly stopping. I didn't know what had actually happened at that exact time as i was more concerned with the safety of my 11 yr old brother. I called on star emergency services and told them i could not move my car and was not fully aware of what had happened.the wal-mart security guard that witnessed the entire incident, rushed to the vehicle to check if we were alright and asked if i had realized what had happened to my car.i told him no and with the on star rep still on the phone i got down and to my surprise saw thesteering column of my hummer had snapped in half.i was in total disbelief and couldn't help but think how my brother and i could have flipped over on the freeway if this incident would have happened one the way to wal-mart.after describing to on star what had happened, the representative asked if i could move my car or if it was drivable, i told him i was pretty much stuck where i was and couldn't even move out of the way of the traffic.i waited along with the security guard for a tow truck to arrive and was the tow truck got there i wrote down all the information i needed from the security guard and was told by the tow truck driver that my vehicle would not be taken to the dealership until the following morning. The next morning i went to the dealership, and was told that i had to contact gm because my brother had been hurt at the scene. I contacted gm and was told that they would send an independent inspector to take a look at the vehicle. After waiting for almost 3 weeks i was told by the gm rep, jorge aburto that the report stated that no outside factor to have caused what had happened to the vehicle.once gm gave the ok to start the repair on the h3 i was told they had stopped because the dealership is now accusing me of hitting the h3.

Sun roof did leak got that fixed now water still coming in on floor board on driver side and passenger side dont know where it is coming from
I keep getting a code that states that my truck runs with a low engine temperature.
I bought this vehicle used approximately 7 years ago. I was taking my vehicle through an automated car wash and the hood vent came completely off. I noticed there was a recall in 2010 concerning this part but i never got notification. When i look up by my vin, it states no recalls. Why not? i noticed it was loose at one lower corner and already had discussed fixing it with the body shop. I need the hood vent replaced now since it tore the latches loose from the top.

Abs fault , traction failed, stab system my car started driving funny and i almost lost control

"stab track system failure" comes on when driving, which makes the car lose power and speed in the middle of traffic. This has happened 3times in about 6 weeks. Dealer claims they have fixed it 3 times, now they admit they don't know what is wrong with the vehicle and unable to fix. Service dept says they cannot narrow down the problem but the computer does recognize that it is a stability control issue. I am afraid it will do this on the interstate and i will be run over or killed by traffic.
I stopped at gas station for fuel.vehicle would not start for approximately 10 minutes after fueling up.then it started.apparently this is a wide spread problem with the hummer, as i have read a number of incidents reported on line with same issue.
About 2 years after i bougth car from dealer ,the car cranks but wont start you have to wait 20minutes and it starts today it left me stranded over 60 miles away ,it has being doing this every few months ,i saw a forum with hundreds of people having same problem and dealer says it doesent find anything that's what i was told two times at dealer ,from the forum it seems to be a faulty passlock security problem or a faulty egnition switch on several years of hummers ,gm needs to recall this because is causing lots of expenses to a lot of people including me
Passlock issues not allowing the vehicle to start. Wait 10min with multiple attempts.
I was driving my 2007 h3 on the garden state parkway when my 3 year old daughter opened up the lock on the rear door and then proceeded to open it when i was traveling 65 mph. This car is not equipped with child safety locks. I informed the dealership and was told that nothing could be done to correct this except put my child in the car seat in the middle which is not safe bring that she weighs 32 pounds.
Yesterday, january 9, 2018, the louvre on the front of my vehicle blew off while i was driving. It was subsequently run over by the vehicle behind me and broken. Lucky no one was hurt.in researching the replacement part, i came to learn that there was a recall issued to remedy the problem. I contacted cadillac of dublin to replace/repair the louvre. They theninformed me that the recall had been done at jeff wyler in ky. This is categorically untrue. Clearly, the recall was not done.there is absolutely no glue residue anywhere on my vehicle or the louvre. Moreover, had jeff wyler actually performed the recall, it failed. Miserably.i should not be responsible to pay for the part nor the replacement thereof. The information in the recall system needs to be corrected/updated/revised to accurately reflect that the recall was not done, so that i can actually have the situation corrected/required work performed.
On several occasions i have noticed steady water drops dripping onto front passenger floor. I have taken it to the dealers and they "performed water test" with negative results. I decided to look at my vehicle in the rain and noticed that there was a steady stream of water seen flowing down my windshield on the right side. I raised the hood and saw that rain was flowing around and down into the air intake cover. I could actually see the rain flowing down there and then dripping from under my glove box area onto the floor. There is a lot of visible electrical stuff going on under there and this bothers me more than the wet damp odor that is now coming from my floor because it has been continuously wet over the past several weeks due to rain.
Oil light comes on when idle. Truck loses pressure. No dealership solution.
Everything from: electrical, air condition, stabilitrack system, which cost me over $600.00 still not working properly.leakingsun roof censors, i was made to pay for that still dont work. I paid over $8,000.00, or more.when ever i brought my vechicle in, i was forced to for something else, my vechile only had about 22,000.00 miles. I was taking it to gmc/vera cadillac300 pembroke pines, fl 33025, ph:(954)362-9465, service manager mr.gustavo, edwin montoya.i have over 50 pages documents about fake repairs, my vechicle is wrost off now than before.it also has safty issues, mold/medw, ac overheating, airbag not working, etc. I am afraid for my safty.
Radiator leak, dripping the coolant and its a design flaw. The plastic on the top of radiotr gets cracked and is a known issue to all having hummer h3. This should be a become a recall as its very risky as there is high risk for engine to get fryed cause of no coolant.
Really gm get it together this happenes all the time and half the time i have to wait 20 to 30 min for it to start
Went out to start hummer would not start it turns over but will not start waited a few minutes and it started up with no issue so decided to go ahead about my day driving on the freeway and the truck cuts off while driving on the free way i was terrified was close to an exit got off and restarted the car no issues this has happened to many times and is dangerous i have children and this needs to be looked into do not know if it is the ignition or the alarm system sending the wrong signal please help i'm to the point of going to find a new vehicle because i d not feel the hummer is safe please help before something bad happens please
Intermittently will crank but will not start. However, it will start after a 10 minute (no less) waiting period. This happens at various times of day, various outside temperatures, and with first morning starts or after driving and shutting down for any length of time.this is extremely inconvenient, to say the least, when it occurs while on time restraints or during an emergency situation (i.e. 10 minutes is too long to wait when trying to get to a hospital where a loved one/family member is clinging to life)
With no warning lights or signs, h3 wouldn't accelerate while pressing the gas.
I have owned my hummer h3 for approximately 8 years and during the last 4 to 5 years i have experienced a repetitive issue with the vehicle not starting and then after waiting 10 minutes and it starts with no issues.this of course has been happening more frequently now, becoming more and more of an annoyance/inconvenience.i have communicated this to gm and their answer is that it is not a recall and they sound somewhat surprised with the issue as if they are hearing it for the first time.i have gone online and have witnessed the numerous complaints from other hummer customers. Some have spent thousands of dollars to achieve temporary or no resolution to this problem.i am hoping that my testimony to this issue will further corroborate/justify other complains already filed for the same problem and influence a corrective action response "recall" from gm.
Several times, while parked, the passlock security system will randomly disables the engine from starting. After waiting 10 minutes the system will allow the vehicle to start. This makes starting the vehicle in an emergency very unreliable and dangerous.
Sun roof did leak got that fixed now water still coming in on floor board on driver side and passenger side dont know where it is coming from
Engine check light came on for very short period of time then went out.about a week later it came on again.went to chevy dealer who ran a quick code check which indicated the number 5 cylinder was misfiring.the chevy dealer indicated the engine/power train warrranty had expired and the problem could be from injectors, plugs, coil and valves. Initial computer check would cost $135. Vehicle is sitting in my garage awaiting money to get it checked.

Hvac blower fan harness/conector burnt fan no operating found fix on hummer forum.
The failure caused the a/c to stop blowing air due to a transistor becoming to hot and melting/burning the connection is side the cab, behind the glove box. I figured out what the problem was and looked at it but didn't replace it since it started working again even though it is burnt black.

Thank you
