Traveling at 5mph on neighborhood gravel road, side curtain airbags deployed without any warning. No collision or accident. Entire system went into crash mode and fired seat belt tensioners, and shut down fuel. Had 2 passengers in vehicle, all were uninjured. Was forced to cut airbags off ceiling to see out, and drive vehicle to closest garage. Incident was captured on video by passenger using a gopro camera, showing the exterior conditions and lack of terrain related causes. Multiple other hummer h3 owners have experienced similar incidents, and i will be looking into legal action if this issue isn't resolved.
The contact owns a 2009 hummer h3t. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the side curtain air bags deployed, blowing debris into the sight of the contact. The contact was not involved in a crash that would cause the air bags to deploy. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 119,000. Updated 1/15/16the consumer stated when the air bag deployed, it struck him on the ear. Updated 03/08/16.
I drove over a pothole going 15mph and my rollover airbags deployed. All 4 wheels were on the ground and there was no rollover. The vehicle never broke 5 degrees from upright. This happened on rampart range road in woodland park, co.
I was on my way home from dropping off a friend and just before i turned into my street i hit a pot hole and i've hit this pot hole many times as it is before my street. But this time the side airbags deployed, onstar contacted me immediately to see if i needed assistance i declined, i took the vehicle to the dealer the next day and reported it to gm as well.
The contact owns a 2009 hummer h3t alpha. The contact was driving 75 mph when both the driver and passenger side air bags deployed without warning. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed a faulty sensor was the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 34,800 and the current mileage was 58,000.
One day when i went to turn on the air conditioner, the ac wouldn't come on. When i turned the control knob to 4, i could hear a clicking under the glove box. On certain days the blower motor would work and sometimes it would quit randomly while operating. Upon inspection i discovered the blower motor resistor had become hot and melted to the connector causing char to build up inside the connection.
I own a 2009 hummer h3t that had a recall for a blower resistor and harness assembly defect that could catch fire. I have had the same harness and resistor replaced twice now for the same reason of melting. I have contacted general motors about this issue and they have not been very helpful in resolving this problem. They are telling me since i have had the recall completed which really wasn't there is nothing they can do for me. Back ground history is the items first failed in 2013 and i paid to have them replaced. The recall came out and they counted the previous repair as the fix. Even though the manufacturing date of the harness that just failed again was 2012. They will not tell me if the recall produced a redesigned part or not. I would like to know that to make sure i have the correct parts installed or defective ones.
There are two issues with this vehicle which is also very prevalent in the forums:1.passlock sensor failure - this prevents the car from starting for 10 minutes.many have described safety due to stranding in unsafe locations and in extreme weather situations.2.radiator cracking - the dealer acknowledges this is a common problem.
While driving on a hot day i noticed an odor of smoldering wire coming thru the blower vents. I pulled over on the highway and checked under the hood. I noticed the blower motor was hot and melting.fortunately there was only smoke and no fire. I turned off the a/c blower (which was now not working) and took it to my local a/c repair station for an estimate. The vehicle was past warranty so the repair station replaced the melted blower motor, resistor and harness using genuine gm parts. This is the first incident and pertains to gm recall #15042, nthsa campaign id 15v421.on august 13, 2015 the blower motor stopped working. I took the vehicle back to the repair shop that replaced the first motor and was informed that it was the same problem and that a recall for this had been issued. I phoned the dealership and was told they have no parts for this recall and i would have to wait until they became available. I called gm direct and was on hold for 90 minutes before giving up. I authorized the local repair shop to replace the melted resistor with aftermarket parts and have the defective resistor in my possession. I have received a recall notice from gm. I would like to have these incidents on record with the nthsa.
