The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. While driving at approximately 30 mph, another vehicle made an improper left turn and crashed into the front driver side of the contact's vehicle. The air bag light warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle would not move forward after the accident occurred and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact stated that the air bag module for the srs was discontinued. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was filed. The vehicle was diagnosed with impact sensor and srs failure. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 113,687.
A problem with nearly all hummer h2s is roof leak, there is a drainage system to drain the water thru the vehicle. This clogs up periodically and the water drains into the vehicle and ends up on the front floorboard.the airbag sensor diagnostic module is mounted on the floorboard directly under the drivers seat. If this gets wet, which it does, the module is ruined and renders the airbags inoperable. This has happened to my vehicle and i am sure many others. If this module is not in working order it has to be replaced, however, general motors has discontinued making the airbag sensor diagnostic module for the 2005 hummer h2 model year!. I am sure i am not the only person (owner) caught up in this situation. The vehicle is still operative and drivable. Airbag sensor diagnostic module should be available and manufacture should ensure it is available.the vehicle is only 10 years old and if i owned a prior year the module is still available. It is a safety issue because of where it is located in the vehicle and manufacture knowledge of leak problems, and only one year discontinued. I have contacted general motors and there reply was "sorry". It very apparent general motorshas no regard for the safety oftheir customers!
Air bag control module nla oem 12249649.after a rain i started up my parked vehicle the service air bag listed in the driver information center as well as the red warning lamp turn and stayed oni am the original owner and have never been in any crash.took to both gm dealer and independent shop with the same response of a replacement was not available. In my research i have found the same issue with other 2005 owners and have contacted the gm help line (case number 8-2560253832) to no avail.my local gm dealer tried several leads but were all dead ends.previous years of this same model vehicle have this component available but will not fit the 2005 year model as i am told.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that the air bag service warning indicator remained illuminated while driving, which was a safety concern. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (haley buick gmc, 9831 midlothian turnpike, richmond, va 23236, (804) 320-9054) where it was diagnosed that the sensing diagnostic module for the front driver's seat needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part being discontinued. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 83,550.
Takata recall hasn't included but should have included the h2 hummer 2005. This light is on constantly. Feel very unsafe driving it. Now, because they are trying to say it's the consumers responsibility. I will take this matter to the news stations if i have to. That's totally ridiculous. The vehicle was parked and when we got into it to leave the light was on and blinking and would not go off.
2005 hummer h2.consumer writes in regards to air bag module problems.the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, due to a red light indicating the air bag needed to be replaced. When the consumer arrived at the dealer, she was informed the air bag module part, had been discontinued. The consumer has been unsuccessful at trying to find the part.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated and a message appeared stating that the air bag needed to be serviced. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 130,000. The vin was unavailable.
The sdm (sensing and diagnostic module) on my 2005 hummer h2 is not working and is causing my air bags to not work, and also causes other modules to not be able to communicate and cause my gauges and other electrical accessories to not operate (windows, locks, etc.)many other hummer h2 owners are having this same problem.a new sdm would fix the issue, but gm for some reason has discontinued manufacturing this module.why would gm stop making a safety related item for vehicles that are only arould 10 years old with many still on the road.so, now we must drive it with the air bags most likely not going to deploy in a crash.
There has to be a recall done on the 2005 hummer h2 airbag module. When it rains the water gets in to vehicle from the driver side. I see a lot of complaints from other people that have the same issue. I have currently only 61,000 miles on my hummer h2. Never got in a accident. Only issue is the water coming in from the driver side and damaged the air bag module. The part # is 12249649, and it only works on the 2005 no other year modules will work. The part is discontinued from gm.
On july 17 2014, when i was driving at 65 miles per hour, the airbag light turn on and since then light on the dashboard still currently on.
Airbag light on and car not in accident. Just want my vehicle fixed as i'm scared to drive it and the bag comes out. The door won't close.my phone number is [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2.the contact started the ignition, suddenly the rear windshield washer dispensed fluid without activation.the identical failure occurred with the front windshield wiper dispenser.the driver disconnected the fuse which resulted in the windshield wipers to not operate.the vehicle has not been repaired at this time.the failure mileage was 50,000.the vin was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that the driver side heating element turned on without warning and failed to turn off. The vehicle was taken to dealer three times, where it was diagnosed that the driver seat module needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
Windshield washer motor runs, can not control, had to remove fuse to stop motor.
Bought vehicle new; speedometer malfunctioned at 36,000 miles.
The windshield wipers on the vehicle will at first work intermittently, going on and off at their own will. Then the windshield washer pump will turn on without warning, discharging all the washer fluid onto the windshield. The pump will continue to pump, even with the vehicle turned off. This can only be remedied with the disconnection of the battery. The wipers will then not work. This can occur at any moment, being very dangerous.
Starting in october 2013 my speedometer has not functioned properly. It does not display the correct speed no matter how fast or slow you are going.it is either stuck at 0 orbottoms out over 120.i have no idea how fast i am driving unless i use my portable gps that shows speed.if it wasn't for my gps then i could get into an accident or get a ticket because i would not know how fast i am going.this is a manufacture defect as i am not the only hummer owner with this issue.gm needs to fix this problem asap.
2005 hummer h2 - windshield wiper not functioning properly.seems to be a defect with wiper module.
Speedometer not working at all."0" always.sometimes when i drive 40-50 ml/h then it works but is not correct and then goes to zero again. I have to get it fix to know how fast im going.
In the midst of traveling on vacation, the speedometer and many of the other dash components just quit working.i had to rely solely on the portable gps to determine the speed that i was going.this is unsafe, and this is an issue that hummer most certainly needs to correct.
Heater fan blower motor started working intermittently while car in motion, then smell of burning electrical.wiring harness to heater under the glovebox was burning hot to the touch and melted all the wires. Plastic wire harness component completely destroyed and almost caught fire.
Driving home i began to smell and electrical burning smell.it began very quickly and came and went for about 2 miles.i pulled over and looked and could not see smoke or fire so i continued home.i drove the remaining 4 miles to my home and immediately got my husband to check as the cab had filled with the smell of an electrical fire.he located the area the smell was strongest and then watched as smoke came out.he unbolted the windshield washer fluid tank and the motor on bottom had actually burned, melted and was on the verge of causing some serious damage.the wipers were not being used and had not been touched.this vehicle is equipped with a heater for the fluid.
The computer in the h2 hummer malfunction.wipers will not turn off. 4 wheel drive will not engage. Engine light comes on. Everything the computer controls is failing.
While traveling on the main roads the speedometer intermittently malfunctions then drops to zero, whereas i'm literally unable to determine my speed this seems to occurwhen the engine warms up and i been driving for better than a half hour.
Heater fan control knob overheats. When heater was in operation the heater control knob area above and below the cvery hot to the touch, heating up radio and other front dash components.prior to this, instrument panel gauges stopped working completely for gas gauge and rpms, and stops working intermittently for speedometer (occurred around 100k miles).
Wipers stopped on the freeway. Raining really hard.
Get in start the vehicle, seat heat comes on. I turn it off it comes back on seconds later. It will not go off and stay off. It does not matter if im driving or parked. Seat heat comes on by its self.
Car will not start due to pass-lock or other malfunction component. Must try and fail and then wait for car to 're-set' each and every time the vehicle is tried to be started.after 10 minutes the car's engine completely kills, even if car is in motion.reprogrammed keys and this only worked for a week.now each and every door lock, back hatch lock, etc... Has failed.the hatch is locked closed and the doors will only unlock or lock physically with your hand. The speedometer fails intermittently, along with other gauges working only sometimes.
The instrument cluster is not working properly, the speedometer gets stuck and jumps around randomly, the rpm gauge stays maxed out, seems to reset itself periodically and works randomly then goes haywire again rendering the driver clueless as to what speed they are actually driving.
Computer doesn't stay on track/
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that the instrument gauges fluctuated then failed to display proper readings. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.
My 2005 h2 hummer speedometer gets stuck ,i have seen over the past week that it gets stuck every day and i cant tell how fast im going this is a safety issue and i have looked on the web and have seen other complaints for the same reason.
The speedometer and tachometer in my vehicle get stuck at any speed. Both meters either max out or drop to zero at numerous speeds. At slow speeds this problems is not a major issue, but at speeds above 45 mph the problem creates a dangerous situation. When pulling a trailer on the interstate at 70 mph the speedometer has dropped to zero. This creates a dangerous situation an inability to determine required speeds on different sections of the highway. A problem such as this one should only occur in a vehicle 25 or 30 years old and not 6 yrs old. It's clear that this is a factory defect and an alert should be issued for factory repair of this defect. Thank you
When driving for a long distance (several hours ) the speedometer all of a sudden drops to 5mph or so even though i am driving at 65 mph.this has happened twice now in the last month on my 2005 hummer h2.the speedometer only corrects after i stop andturn off the engine.
My tachometer was starting to stick and not it doesn't move at all. Now my speedometer is starting to stick. The consequences of no speedometer are tickets, accidents from not being able to go safe speeds in various conditions.
While driving on i-81 near winchester, va., i noticed my speedometer moving erratically. I have not driven it much since this mishap. As of august 4, 2014 the mileage is only 55,264. I just noticed a suit filed against gm for this problem. I was never notified about any recall. Is there any recourse for me?
I started my vehicle 4 days ago and the speedometer and gauges were frozen and did not operate at all. I drove to the store and the gauge remained at 0 the entire time. When you accelerate the speedometer does not move from 0 mph. I turned the vehicle off and turned it back on and there was no change. Yesterday when i started the vehicle the gauge would only move between 30-50 mph. Today when i started the vehicle it is frozen at 120 mph and the khm(?) does not move past 1.when i accelerate neither of the two gauges are functioning. I have yet to repair it bc it has happened just a few days ago but i was told that i am looking at a very large repair cost to replace the entire dashboard cluster. The same thing happened in my 2003 model and i sold the vehicle. As well the rear suspension is lowering on its own to the lowest position and does not go back to the normal height. I have to push the button on the interior. When i return to the vehicle the following morning the rear suspension has dropped down again.
The computer in the h2 hummer malfunction.wipers will not turn off. 4 wheel drive will not engage. Engine light comes on. Everything the computer controls is failing.
Vehicle has 133,000 miles.it has now experienced an exhaust manifold gasket leak due to broken bolts.this is causing noise from the engine area, and is unsafe due to the leak of hot gases being released from the engine at the points of failure (broken bolts).this may be an epa concern as well, and could also lead to failure of catalytic converter.repair estimate is $1,300.an online search yields hundreds of other results with same failure and complaint on all gm v8 engines for years 1999-2007.this affects the 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l models.this is a design failure and the affected vehicles with these engines should be recalled.
Check engine light keeps coming on and light blinks than stays on until i take it in for service.the shop can't figure out why it is doing thishad it shop about 7-8 timesfor service.also code states can cause a possible fire
While traveling on the main roads the speedometer intermittently malfunctions then drops to zero, whereas i'm literally unable to determine my speed this seems to occurwhen the engine warms up and i been driving for better than a half hour.
Transmission sticks in 3rd. Gear.distressed engine on take off.only switches in and out of 2nd and 3rd gear manually. Gm denies warranty on trans.states trans. Malfunction due to over stressing caused by aftermaket super charger purchased by owner.
2005 h2, purchased 10/2004there is a noise that cannot be located and repaired.sewell cadillac, dallas, texas replaced the front differential (it had metal shavings in it), replaced rear springs observing they were over extended, bubbled and warped.the car in two separate repair tickets has been in the shop 7 days each time for a total of 14 days.is doesn't appear this problem can be found or fixed.there is a "dragging" noise upon acceleration between 20 - 40 mph. It is very uncomfortable hearing this noise.my neighbor had her wheel come off of her 2003 h2. I was required to fill a blank so i chose power train only because it seems closest to what it might be, i'm not sure.sewell keeps trying to fix the problem, just unsuccessfully.

On february 3, 2015, i noticed my brakes pedal were going closer to the floor. I got home and noticed that my brake lines at the rear was leaking brake fluid onto my driveway. I attempted to pull the vehicle up further in the driveway and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I had to push in the emergency brake. On february the 7th i contacted my gmc dealer in wendell, nc. I advised them that i was getting aaa to tow my vehicle in due to brake line problems. The dealer repaired my rear and front brake lines and charged me a total of 1,949.00 and said that their was not a recall on this part.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 05v043000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The failure mileage was 130,000.
Steel brake line burst due to corrosion and rust. Brake pedal went all the way to floor. Made call to gm and had vehicle towed to my local authorized gm service center. I was told that this was not covered because the vehicle was almost 10 years old and that this was the life expectancy of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that while making a turn with the brake pedal depressed, the power steering and brakes malfunctioned without any warnings. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake booster malfunctioned and need to be replaced. There was a recall that the contact stated exhibited the same symptoms of the failure listed in nhtsa campaign number: 05v043000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the vin was not included in that recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
Brake lines rusted through and failed catastrophically and without warning causing a complete loss of braking while stopping for a red light.since the entire system was rusted, there was no reserve braking from the dual system.i was traveling at a moderate speed and was able to recover without an accident.i replaced all the brake lines at a cost of $1100, not knowing that this was a common defect in gm vehicles.i saw today in the new york times that many other gm vehicle owners are experiencing the same problem.it is apparent that gm engineers have not heard about the concept of galvanic corrosion and used the wrong materials for critical components.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact inspected underneath the vehicle and detected a power steering fluid leakage. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who informed him that the brake hydro-boost was leaking fluid. There was a recall related to the defect under nhtsa campaign id number 04v045000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The vin was not included in the recall defect. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that while coming to a stop, the brakes failed to respond when the brake pedal was depressed. In addition, an abnormal squeaking sound was heard from the steering wheel. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic brake booster accumulator cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vin was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 05v043000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 81,500.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle, the power steering failed, causing the steering wheel to become very difficult to turn in either direction. Additionally, the power steering fluid leaked unto the hydro-boost braking system, causing the brakes to malfunction and become spongy, extending the braking distance. The contact works as an independent mechanic and confirmed the causes of the failures. The local dealer apple valley chevrolet located at 650 foxcroft ave, martinsburg, wv 25401 and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 05v043000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 240,000.
2005 am general hummer h2 brakes go all the way to the floor on a panic stop.this provides no feedback for the human-machine interface. This is contrary toaccepted vehicle brake design practice and may cause a driver to panic.
The contact owns a 2005 hummer h2. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the power steering cooler would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.
While driving the road curved to the left. I tried to follow road as it curved. I was able to turn the steering wheel but the wheels could not follow the turn. The hummer went straight causing me to go into a ditch. The passenger front wheel flew off with the axel' please help me understand.

2005 hummer h2 unable to steer on dry asphalt when at a standstill.dealer replaced all steering components and it still cannot steer if at a standstill-like when you are trying to park it.i went to answers.com and a hummer expert said the power steering is weak in many gm suv's and cannot be corrected.i have checked with other owners, and half say they have the problem, and half do not.if you let the vehicle roll a little, then it can steer.but that makes it even harder to park.i decided to look at a new 2008 hummer h2, but the one i liked could not steer at a standstill, they tried to sell me a different color, which could steer, but i did not like the color.
H2 hummer sways from left to rightfinal impact hit parked caroffered to repair, i declined, i do not want to drive a hummer again . I turned over to the legal department for gm no response yet , happened july 26.
There is a leak caused by the tubes channeling water from the sunroof.during heavy rains water pools on the driver and passenger side floor.

2005 hummer h2 front windshield wipers stopped working in on position while driving, they would only work on high and then had to be shut off just right while down or they were right in the middle of the windshield. Then the wipers would come on and off when they wanted too. Then the back windshield wiper came on all by itself and the wiper fluid kept squirting and the wipers would come on and off but i had no control over either the front or rear wipers and the rear wiper fluid. The fluid ran out and the motor just kept pumping until my husband removed some fuses. I was almost in an accident with my 3 sons and this could cause a fire with the pump motor not shutting off.*tw
Airbag light on and car not in accident. Just want my vehicle fixed as i'm scared to drive it and the bag comes out. The door won't close.my phone number is [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Front wipers stop working, radio stays on when exit vehicle, having electrical issues. Radio came on by it's self at night and drained battery. Turn rear wipers on theradio went off.
2005 hummer h2 - windshield wiper not functioning properly.seems to be a defect with wiper module.
Windshield wipers work intermittently, come on by themselves, then won't shut off.the problem has happened 5 times in 3 days. Same problems as the 2003 recall for same item.....dealer said water in motor and or module causing problem . Have to be replaced. Waiting to here from gm assistance.
Visibility and wiper motor control, and windshield washer controlmy 2005 has just started showing a known defect that resulted in the recall of 2003-2004, 2006-2008 hummer h2.the wipers will come-on automatically even in the off position, windshield wash front and rear operate in the off position and won't stop.all wipers and windshield wash will operate and then stop completely or turn to intermittent operation neither of which can be controlled by the driver.this started during a snowstorm in washington dc and almost caused me to crash into the back of 18 wheeler on i95.
The computer in the h2 hummer malfunction.wipers will not turn off. 4 wheel drive will not engage. Engine light comes on. Everything the computer controls is failing.
The wipers would stop working in the front and start working on and off again they would still work on high setting but they would not turn off and the pump on the reservoir for the washing fluid would keep spraying even after all fluid was gone i had to pull out my fuse to keep it from spraying.trying to find out if this stuff is covered on recall or if i will have to pay to get it fixed or if i can please let me know i am not sure what all recalls need to be fixed but i would like to get them done before something bad happens .

This is the 3rd time in the 5yrs i have owned this vehicle that we have lost control of the front windshield wipers during a rain storm in florida. We have replaced at our expense the wiper control module. This time being the shortest span of about a month before it gets damp and malfunctions. Wipers either work intermittent or not at all and this hampers visibility and can cause a wreck. I have noticed that gm had a recall for 2003 but not for other years. I also am a member of the hummer forum and can tell you that this is common amongst all years.
I own a 2005 hummer h2 and a problem developed with the windshield wipers. They will work intermittently and at times continuously also the washer pump runs continually . Dealer said corrosion caused the problem.the only way to stop the wipers and pump is to remove one of the fuses. The dealer said to fix the problem would cost approximately $250-$300. This problem started slowly and progressed to be a constant issue. I noticed that on the nhtsa website that the 2003 hummer a similar problem resulted in a recall of over 13000 vehiclesare other h2 owners having this problem. *dt
I own a 2005 hummer h2. The problem is that both front and back windshield wipers come on by themselves without turning the controls on. Vehicle had a bent rim that came directly from the manufacturer. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, and was informed that because the rim was bent it wascausing the tire to go flat. Consumer left the vehicle at the dealer for two weeks, and was informed that the manufacturer was not taking responsibility for the defect. While driving with this defect vehicle jerked to the right, knocking down a mailbox. While the vehicle was at the body shop the tire had to be inflated each time the vehicle had to be moved.
