The airbags did not deploy during a car accident.there were no events leading up to this.the vehicle was not in a previous accident, nor was the air bag indicator showing that there were any issues with the air bag.
I have a 2004 hummer h2, the entire instrument panel malfunctions.. Fuel gauge, speedometer, oil gauges .keyless entry will not work,etc. Reduced engine power message appears and vehicle automatically slowly reducing speed to 15 miles per hr while driving at high speed. Air bag light will not shut off. These issues are a safety hazard and i would appreciate assitance and resulution as soon as possible. This truck has less than 75,000 miles and has been well maintained. .
Check system out and sensing module that controls the inflatable restraints has internal failure and will not communicate. The sdm needs replaced
1. Voltage meter erratic2. Windshield wipers stopped working, wipers stopped and remain in the middle of the windshield.3. Dashboard instrument panel remained on with battery light and radio after switching off and locking vehicle. It was necessary to disconnect the battery to disable this condition. On morning of 5/17/2012, we reconnected the battery and voltage meter and instrument panel was normal. Windshield wipers are still inoperable.
2004 hummer h2speedometer quit functioning completely the started working again but very erratically, reading improper speeds at all speeds including registering 60 mph while at a stop. Problem has been occurring since 10/15/06. Not a safe situation.
I feel that this key problem falling out of the ignition, key will not turn on or off making it hard to control when the key is in the ignition and causing it not to start. I had this same problem on a 2003 isuzu ascender. Also the "driver information center" has quit working right which controls a lot of things on the vehicle. I think it is a defective switch from gm who also built my 2003 isuzu.
The contact owns a 2004 hummer h2. The contact stated that the speedometer failed as he parked the vehicle. Contact noticed that the speedometer provided a reading of 80 mph instead of 0. On occasions, the speedometer would return to normal but would mainly read between 80-100 mph erroneously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they advised him that a motor in the speedometer failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired nor was the manufacturer contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000. The vin was unavailable.
Whole cluster lights up on car door locks don't work radio won't go off air bag lights on all brake lights on , this was going down a city street driving

As i was driving on i 5 in oregon i experienced a complete failure of the electrical system and brake systems. The vehicle was on cruise control and when i disengaged it all of the safety warning light appeared on the dashboard. I pressed on the brakes and they were a complete failure also. At this time the dashboard lights and controls went off and i loss power. I was able to get to the side of the road when i noticed smoke coming from under the hood. I got my daughter out of the vehicle to a safe distance and opened the hood and the main fuse relay panel was fully engulfed in fire. I called 911. In the approx. 5 min. The time the fire truck arrived the truck was consumed and fully gutted out from the fire.
I own a 2004 hummer h2. It currently has 50k miles on it and has been garage kept and well maintained since i purchased it. Recently, while driving i noted that my speedometer seemed to be inaccurate. I was on a major highway, yet cars were flying around me and cutting me off. I looked at my speedometer again and it read "65" so i continued about my business while other motorists were still passing me by and cutting me off. When i got home and pulled the h2 into the garage, i realized the speedometer was still reading "65" and i was parked. I contacted hummer and gm who both informed me it is the stepper motor and that it needs to be replaced. They also stated that it is a problem in 2003-2004 gm products and that there is a recall but not for the hummer. I asked why all the other gm products were covered and not mine and was told that they just don't fix enough of them so there is no recall. I expressed my concern that this is not a normal wear and tear item and that this is a safety issue. Gm obviously felt it was enough of a concern to recall its other gmc suv's that have the same problem. The service manager at hummer told me that he fixes about one a week at the cost of $500-$700.00. If that many hummers are being repaired, why the prejudice against this gm product for the recall. I guess they figure if you own a hummer, then you have the money to pay for it to get repaired. I beg to differ. This is a major safety concern and in doing my research on other hummer h2's from 2003-2004, it is a big problem with the steeper motor. The service manager actually recommended to me that i can "still drive it". I have 4 children and driving it under these conditions is not acceptable, nor is risking our lives, but then again, i am certain if someone died as a result of this problem, gm would address it and recall the defect. The gm product line that has been recalled uses the same exact part that the hummer h2 does so why has this not been addressed!
2004 h2 hummer, speedometer malfunction, registers 0 (zero) or grossly incorrect miles/hour, please tell me this has to be a manufacturer defect on this type vehicle at $40,000 price tag, was pulled over by officer and given verbal warning to get repaired.
While driving 10 mph vehicle stalled without warning.driver triedto restart the vehicle and was able to do so. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the ignition switch needed to be replaced, and replaced it.

I own a 2004 hummer h-2, no alterations to the engine, drive train, or chassis.while driving the vehicle will stall.this vehicle will just shut off at freeway speed.i took it to the dealership after the last event only to be told the following day that the truck is fine and not stalling.
Dt: power steering leaks; no warning notice( no lights came one in the vehicle on indicating that the fluid was low.the people who towed the vehicle said if she had lost control she would not had been able to control the vehicle because the ps would have gone out on the vehcile. Had it in 8 or 9 times for the air conditioning not working correctly.

I was driving home at night and about a mile before i got home my transmission didn't seem to shift as smooth as it usually does and when i parked in my garage i got out and transmission fluid was dripping out from under my h2 very quickly and by the next hour it had every bit run out and huge puddle of transmission fluid was all over my garage floor. I took the skid plate off my h2 and the transmission line had a hole rusted through it. Had i been another few miles away from getting home this could have destroyed my transmission and possibly caused me to wreck.
Gm 4l65-e or 4l65e transmission problem. Engine light has been on and frequently the 4 speed automatic transmission loses first and fourth gears. Will not automatically downshift from third to second (this can be done manually - only 2nd and 3rd workthough) - feels like it will not come out of drive automatically when slowing all the way to a stop. It has been acting erratic from normal to problematic - error code indicates 'torque converter clutch solenoid lock up' a youtube video might describe it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jeb0kpan_g i could see where it very well could cause an accident because the transmission slips when it decides it wants to.
While driving the vehicle on an extended trip on the highway, the heating element on the heated seats overheated and burned the right side below shoulder blade above waist, causing injury to my back. I went to a physician ,and now have a two large scars about 4.5 inches in length.i had the seat warmer ona trip to nebraska,and the seat burned my back.

While examining the vehicle, the contact noticed brake fluid leaking under the subframe. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 160,000.
I was pulling out of my driveway in my hummer h2 when the brake pedal went to the floor. I got out of my h2 and noticed a large amount of brake fluid running out from under the rear end near the left rear wheel. I looked under the vehicle and noticed a brake line was rusted in two. I checked under the hood and saw that the brake fluid reservoir was completely empty.
Brakes lines under vehicle have excessive corrosion and have finally cracked, resulting in complete brake failure. Event did not result in accident. Vehicle has not been operated in a northern snow region nor coastal area.

My 2004 h2 has a serious rusting issue with the brake lines. On 2 separate occasions i have been driving along at approximately 30 mpg and hit the brakes only to have them go all the way to the floor. Luckily i did not an accident. In both occasions the line burst due to rust. My veh. Has 103,000.00 lightly driven. Gm needs to come out and admit they have a problem with rusting brake liens before someone gets killed
I was traveling on nj turnpike when my brakes didn't feel right. Almost no brakes stepping to floor. Then brake failure light came on. This is a garage kept vehicle with approx 14000 original miles. Appears brake lines are corroded. One owner. How could this happen. Is there a recall how can i obtain details for full recovery or reimbursement?

Extremely excessive rust on underbody of my 2004 hummer h2. Brake lines, calipers, rotors, frame, suspension, etc have holes. My brakes completely failed on the highway and i crashed into a truck and a suv. Luckily used the emergency brake to eventually stop it. Dealer says entire brake system needs to be replaced and the frame is also in bad shape.i did report the rust problem to gm while under the 3 year warranty but they did nothing. I neither do any cross-country driving nor am near the ocean. I am scared of driving the vehicle.
Disc brake rotors not machined to legal specifications.approximately 40% of rotors face were still rough casting, this caused rough braking and early brake pad failure.dealer and gm refused to repair under warranty, claimed they were ok.i will not buy another gm product for their lack of concern.state inspection requires 100% clean up of machined surface on rotors.

At this point, the hummer started to travel at very fast speed down the street in the same pattern that i had originally driven up. I tried to apply the brakes, brakes did not work. I tried to steer, steering was in a lock position. I hit a pedestrian hard and my car landed in my neighbor's house. When i hit the house, the 2 front wheels became detached from the car. The pedestrian that i hit has incurred many serious damages. I had 1 engineering company look at the car back in 2004 after the accident and they said they could not find anything wrong. When i look now, i've heard of many cases where similar incidents have occurred due to brakes.i am currently in court for another 1 week as this pedestrian is now suing me. I plead to all h2 hummer owners to contribute any information that they may have about other hummer owners or their own experience. Your contribution to this matter is highly appreciated.

While driving 35 mph the steering knuckle fractured without warning. As a result the front driver side wheel separated from the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed to the nearest dealer. Please provide additional information.
(1) driving in parking lot approx 10 mph, a vehicle cut in front of me, i cut sharply to the right.(2) my vehicle would not respond back to the left resulting in collision with a concrete pole causing $9000.00 damage to my vehicle.later inspection by myself, local garage, insurance estimator and body shop revealed the right hand tie rod had broken which is believe caused loss of steering and accident.(3) vehicle is in body shop for repairs.old parts are available.
The 2 braided steel hood support straps exhibit premature corrosion within the rubber covers causing premature failure which may cause an injury during the unexpected failure when the hood is opened by user. The rubber covers hide the corrosion problem until failure occurs.
The contact owns a 2004 hummer h2.the contact stated that during steady rainfall, water seeps through the windshield handle bar on both sides of the vehicle.on a previous occasion, the water shorted out the ignition and the vehicle began experiencing failure with the motherboard.the contact stated that the water also enters through the rear headliner.the dealer was notified on eleven occasions.the handle bar issue has been repaired, but the rear headliner still leaks.the current mileage was 26,000 and failure mileage was 4,000.

Front wheel linkage failure, wheel fell off.my brother and i nearly died today from an accident in my mothers h2. We had just left a friends house and were traveling at about 35 mph when all of a sudden it seemed that the front driver side wheel broke free. The h2 violently swerved to the left and even though i am a big guy it was almost impossible to keep that 6000 lbs beast from swerving. I hit the brakes but those didn't seem to help since the brakes were still attached to the wheel which i could see was behind us from the side view mirror. The h2 tore through the opposite lane and slammed us into a ditch causing extensive damage to the drivers side. I can only thank god that we were fine and that there was no oncoming traffic at that time. The braking off of the wheel caused major wheel well and fender damage. The force of the wheel slamming into the well shattered the windshield and broke the side step. I had difficulty opening the door to get out because of the damage. When i got out i saw that the wheel was about 10 feet behind us. There were several suspension pieces still connected to it. The police officer had a hard time believing my story, but that is expected from them, the real painful thing is that my mother wont believe me either. I have read of several cases like this. This was a very scary accident, nothing is worse than loosing all control of a vehicle with a loved one inside, knowing that you are responsible for that person.
I own a 2004 hummer h2, and my boss owns a 2003, and my brother also owns a 2004, and all three (3) trucks have the same problem with the running boards rusting and also the wheel wells. For the money that you pay for a truck it shouldn't be rusting out, i hope that you could address this problem, i had brought my truck in for service and there was nothing they could do they gave me this site. I have a 2004 silverado and a 2004 h2 hummer which both have faulty speedometers. They are sometimes correct, sometimes jumpy and much of the time pegged. I understand that there could be a recall? it's quite dangerous.
Windshield wipers were acting erratically, they would not turn off , then they would automatically go off and not back on, washer fluid pump continued to spray while wipers were either on or off until tank was empty. I had no control over the wipers.

Wipers go on and off water empty no control went to gm water in module had to get new one03 recall why is the 04 not on recall.
I was driving down a busy road & all of a sudden the front & back windshield wipers started going off, as well as the wiper washer had to pull over & pull the fuse. It almost caused an accident. Googled the problem seen that alot of other people had the same problem & that there was a recall on the windshield wiper module getting water in it & causing it to short out. Contacted hummer they said that the recall was only for 03 & since mine was an 04 it wasn't eligible for the recall. Which i thought was bull. They wanted me to pay for an official diagnostic @ a hummer dealership & then re contact them. There is no way im going to give them any more money especially if they won't take care of there defective products. No more hummers for me!
I own a 2004 hummer2and the wiper motor module started to smoke. At first my wipers would run without me even turning them on then they wouldn"t work at all. Then on feb. 19th,2004 as i was driving down the road , the wiper motor started to smoke. I had to stop in the middle of a main street to stop and pull the fuse. After talking to a hummer dealership ifound out that they have a recall on this part, but only in the 2003 model. The problem is that moisture gets into the wiper motor and burns up the circuit board and causes it to smoke and then the wipers won"t work at all. I went to the dealership to buy the new part and the part guy new exactly what it was. I didn't have to say anything. I still have the old part. This could have been more serious!!

Gm is recalling 13,358 my 2003 hummer h2 vehicles. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which water can enter the windshield wiper motor module. I have a 2004 h2 my front windshield wipers will not shut off. I had to remove the wiper fuse in order to drive my truck on a sunny day. The switch is in the off position but they continue to stay on. I need help fast to continue to drive my truck in safe conditions.

(2)safety equipment defect...power folding mirrors on 2004 h2 hummer fail to reposition properly and will not stay in place reliably.consequences from this defect may lead to accidents or injuries due to unexpected change of rear viewing areas.(3)arrangements were made with service department to repair without charge even though mileage has exceeded warranty limits.upon presenting vehicle for repair, i was informed that i would have to pay for diagnostics and repair.presuming that the usable life span of these folding mirrors should be well in excess of the occasional operation that they had, i refused to pay and left.the salesman who sold me this hummer later said he has no control of how the service department operates and there is nothing he can do about it. Also, i was told previous to making my appointment for repair that this is a problem with many of the power folding mirrors on h2 hummers.nothing has been done to correct this failure of safety equipment (rear view mirrors). Left rear door fails to latch due to binding mechanism.this was also reported and not repaired due to same circumstances.
The power retract mechanism in both outside rear view mirrors have failed multiple times. After failure, the mirrors can be blown inward at high speeds causing unexpected viewing problems when used during operation.. The mirrors can also exhibit high vibrations which make them difficult to use during operation. It is felt that these problems could contribute to an accident.
