Takata recallthere are no loaner trucks in my area and was told that i am only eligible for safe transportation of any kind, does not have to be a truck. They also do not have cars available in wilmington, nc. The next closest dealership is 71 miles away. We are not happy, as we bought a truck and not a car. We are not interested in driving a car until the parts come in sometime next summer. That is tooooo long to wait. Honda needs to loan vehicles comparable to what we have.

I was notified of the recall march 2016. Dealer still has not received the parts. No one knows when to expect them. Corporate hot line was no help. Honda should face some sort of financial penalty for this lack of concern.

After arriving home from the dealer with this brand new vehicle, my wife on the passenger side could not open the door even though i pressed unlock switch on the driver side.i shut the car off and pressed the unlock button on the key and also tried to pull up the lock manually but i couldn'tget it to unlock.after several attempts it finally worked and she was able to get out. The following morning it started working okay but then today the door lock failed again and could not open the door both from inside or outside. When unlock switch is pressed, the doorlock clicks and comes up partially but then it goes down to lock position.the passenger had to come out on the driver side. I figure this malfunction could be a serious safety issue if the vehicle is involved in an accident and passenger is in immediate need of evacuation.

Rodents chewed through wiring on a wheel sensor for the braking system. I have found out that honda has a class action law suite for using soy based insulation on wires in 2012-2015 year models.

Electrical door lock mechanism does not work using the key fob lock.

In december 2016 i began to notice billowing clouds of blue smoke from my exhaust pipe on startup.on watching the problem for the next couple of weeks i noticed that it happened intermittently, usually (but not always) when the engine was cold.following the initial blue cloud (definitely not black or white smoke), any exhaust gases became invisible (but i am unable to determine whether my truck was smoking from the exhaust when i was driving).i also noticed that when i started it up while in the driveway (with the intention of pulling the truck into my garage), even if there was no smoke visible the garage would fill with fumes ? it was so bad that i would have to hold my breath, exit the truck, and sprint into my house to avoid inhaling those fumes.it quickly became apparent to me (as an amateur mechanic) that somehow oil was finding its way into the combustion chamber and was being burned, resulting in the smoke & fumes.i therefore took the truck to the honda dealer in order to have them isolate and repair the problem.later in the day [xxx] phoned to say that their service technicians had not been able to replicate the problem, therefore had done no service to the truck, and that i should come pick it up.when i asked what diagnostic service had been performed, [xxx] told me that they had started the truck several times and let it run for several minutes, all the while visualizing the exhaust pipe to see if there was any smoke: there was none.therefore they seemingly decided that there must not be any problem and that my complaint was not valid. To summarize: my ridgeline is burning oil, which presents a health and safety issue for me; clouds of blue smoke and fumes are being discharged into the environment; and i have been insulted by the service manager at vacaville honda when i tried to have this problem corrected.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving , applied brake and pedal went to the floor car would not stop! replaced brake master cylinder (typical repair) this did not fix issue. Im am told the the abs modulator caused this failure. The master cylinder is understandably a dangerous failure point however i have never heard of an abs modulator causing this issue which can be deadly . The car only has 90k miles which also is an issue as this is not a typical failure. I was able to avoid a collision but im wondering if this should be looked into closer and if there are others that have had this problem but did not recognize the failure point since the part is not suppose to fail in this manner .

The contact owns a 2014 honda ridgeline. The contact stated that as he drove various speeds, the emergency brake warning light illuminated, the warning bell sounded and the brakes emitted a strong burning odor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure where the battery cable was reset several times but to no avail. The emergency brake warning light continued to illuminate and the brakes emitted aburning odor. The failure mileage was 3,000. The current mileage was 3,500.

The clear coat is failing on my white honda ridgeline.

Upon accelerating from a stop and turning to either the left or right the throttle control would hesitate and not be responsive to further stepping on the gas pedal.it was like a dead zone as the vehicle was moving but the engine would not respond to the depression on the gas pedal.we do not drive the vehicle much being retired but new something was wrong.this is our 3rd ridgeline since 2005 and never has this happened in prior trucks owned.i thought it was a quirk but it has continued to happen on and off several times and finally i took it to the dealership on 3/16/15 and they could find nothing but did tell me they had another customer with a similar complaint that they again would locate no cause.this has caused us to lose confidence in the vehicle because normally you are crossing opposite lanes of traffic when this occurs and if the engine does not respond and is in a dead like zone for a few seconds, that means we could be involved in an accident.the dealership said they did find on your data base another customer of a 2014 model who reported this engine hesitation or lack of throttle response.something is definitely wrong and after driving two other ridgelines for 9 years i know it and now my family is scared to even drive the vehicle. I am filing this complaint and notifying honda of america formally as well because if this vehicle is involved in an accident i want honda to be held responsible for this manufacturer defect.
