I am reporting unwanted, excessive acceleration for my 2010 honda ridgeline. After turning into a parking lot, i was easing into my desired parking space and, since there was a slight incline, i lightly pressed the accelerator to inch further into the space. All of a sudden, to my surprise and without an opportunity to react, the truck accelerated greatly, propelling itself over a 5 inch curb, past two feet of space, and through the wall of a building. The force of the sudden impact was so great that the driver's side airbag deployed, the hood was bent and the front bumper was damaged - also punching a 3 foot wide hole into the side of the building, exposing its interior.

On top of that, another recall has been issued on the passenger side airbag! my contact at the dealer has been very nice and i do have a rental vehicle.however, it is absolutely ridiculous that this debacle is not being handled in a timely manner.

Takata recall-i got the first recall for the driver's side and my vehicle stayed at the dealer for about 4 months. I just got the vehicle out in july-as i got home there was another recall for the passenger side now-i contacted the dealer and i am told that honda will not provide alternate transportation for the passenger side-only on as needed basis-contacted gloria with american honda-one of the most rude persons ever dealt with-explained to her that i carpool and take grandkids to their sporting events-she said have them all ride in the back as there is nothing that american honda will do--if you have them ride in the front-they ride at their own risk....believe me if i could sue for just that-i would. My vehicle is now only giving me about 10/11 miles per gallon when it used to average about 18/19--the steering wheel came back all full of scratches and with two extra screws/nuts by door for which there is no explanation as to why-i am now concerned that the first recall repairs were maybe not done properly--not sure what other options i have as a consumer-and how long i have to drive the vehicle until parts become available.

Takata recall - i received a note in the spring of 2016 that my drivers side airbag need to be replaced.the noticed stated that the airbag replacement would be available in the summer of 2016.today is november 2, 2016 and i still have not received a notice that my new air bag is available.

Takata recall: i received the first letter of recall from american honda on mar 29, 2016 followed by another letter on july 19, 2016. Enough to mention that i have hardly driven my truck since apr 1, 2016! these two letters were followed by several calls by the american honda on june 30, july 07, july 18, july 29, & aug 17; 2016 informing me that my nearest honda dealer would call me to offer a rental vehicle before both -- driver's side & passenger side -- airbag inflators are replaced. Except for the fact that they replaced my driver's side inflator on july 20, 2016, nothing has been offered to me so far. It was the only vehicle that i had until july 6th, 2016 -- after which i had to buy a small car on my own as a remedy because i didn't want to take the risk -- explained to me by the american honda on the above-listed dates. The question is: is it what they call 'the trick of the trade' to abuse the customers in the name of fulfilling their obligations? the only favor they did to me was that a guy -- namely, donald in the honda of spring -- apologized to me for not offering any vehicle on july 19, 2016. That's all what i have heard from them. This is while i generally go there every month for the elementary checkups such as oil, air pressure, etc.. And they know me quite well... Shame on the custodians of the rule of law!!!

2010 honda ridgeline.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair defective airbags.

Xm satellite radio volume is lower and has less bass than other sources. However, loading a cd in the changer and temporarily switching to cd then back to xm after every restart brings the bass, volume, and clarity back to expectations. Dozens of others are complaining of the same issue on forums and messages boards. I should not have to perform a "workaround" by cycling through modes on the radio after each restart just to have decent xm sound quality.

While driving downtown at 4:30pm i was slowing to a stop light.the engine all of a sudden sped up throwing the vehicle forward. I continued to keep the brake on, but the vehicle kept pushing forward. I got to the stop light, just missing the pedestrian, put the vehicle in park, and the engine started racing and my husband told me to turn the vehicle off.we turned the vehicle back on but the engine started racing again so i turned it back off.i pumped the gas and started the vehicle again with no further problems for the rest of the night. The vehicle has 121634 miles on it.

I backed my 2010 honda ridgeline out of my garage. It was a little too close to my basketball hoop so i put it in drive to pull forward. The truck took off like a jet and accelerated about 20 feet forward until it crashed into my garage. I immediately looked down and my foot was firmly on the brake and the brake was completely pressed to the floor. The truck accelerated by itself. I am thankful nobody got hurt. It did a number on the ridgeline and my garage. A similar incident happened about 3 weeks ago in the best buy parking lot. I put the truck in reverse and it just took off without me touching the accelerator. Luckily there was nobody behind me and the brake finally took hold. Honda needs to fix this before somebody gets hurt or killed.

The contact owns a 2010 honda ridgeline. While driving at approximately 65 mph, the third brake light panel detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred two years later. The panel placed a hole in the cover when it made contact. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were unknown.

2010 honda ridgeline with 450 miles was refueled at a filling station. After the vehicle was refueled, the drivers door would not close. A passer by reached into the door latch and "tripped" it with a pen knife. He advised that honda is equipped with weak springs for the latch, and that they break. The door held for one use; then my 75 year old father had to hold the door closed for nearly 100 miles as he droveto his residence. I contacted the honda dealer, and described the situation. He related to me that he had an acura mdx with the same problem. He said to drive the car in, and that it would be a quick fix.the consequence of this immense safety issue is the distraction of holding a door closed while in traffic at speed. I am very concerned for the other drivers as well as a door unlatched in an accident. I am also concerned about the dealer, who was aware of it, and a passer by at the gas station who was aware of the issue.

Steering wheel shimmies at all speeds. Tires have been changed 3 times, dealership checked 2 times, multiple alignments. The problem remains the same from about 25,000 mi. Now 66,000 mi.

The contact owns a 2010 honda genesis (n/a). The contact stated that the rear passenger seat belt buckle latch failed while attempting to secure the seat belt around a child restraint seat. The vehicle was not yet taken to the dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The failure and current mileage was 13,000.

Brakes poorlystopping twice the distance as normal.soft pedalwas told by dearlship this is normal for truck.brakes will not lock up with or without absfuse in place

On two separate occasions (about three weeks apart and no more than 500 miles) the brake pedal went to the floor without stopping the vehicle. Both times the conditions were dry and debris free. The first occasion occurred going up a hill to a stop sign and was not as noticeable. On the second occasion the brake failure happened coming off a highway ramp, and the vehicle did not stop with the brakes fully applied as we entered the intersection. The vehicle has been to two separate dealers, and because they were unable to recreate the problem when following protocol they were unable to find and fix the issue.

Brakes are soft and pedal sometimes goes close to the floor with engine on regardless of being in motion or stopped.took truck in for repair at honda dealer they thought it serious enough to replace the master cylinder after several attempts at bleeding them.brakes are still soft but honda now claims that they are fine.

2010 honda ridgeline trucks have the power steering reservoir fluid mounted to the base of the frame. The reservoir is not protected or shielded from any debris which could easily enter into the engine compartment to include water, ice and snow from the road which could strike the power steering reservoir and cause a complete and instant failure of steering. The reservoir is mounted by one bolt on a thin bracket which can flex.

On march 30, 2013. While driving out of town during a heavy rain storm. We started to heara loud thumping sound coming from the rear of the truck at speeds around 60mph, of which my passenger started to video the sound. Before i couldpull off the highway , there was silence and all of a sudden the rear section of the roof and parts of the rear window frame flew off in moving traffic on the highway at speeds of 65-70 mph. I did report this to my insurance company as i was not sure who may have been hit by all the flying debris.

For the past three weeks, and only when it rains, i have noticed, while seated in my vehicle (divers side front seat) that water is entering my vehicle from an unknown location and pooling along the roof headliner and a pillar plastic cover.when i try to replicate the leak by pouring water in various locations no water enters.when it rains, i see the roof headliner nearest the a pillar is soaked. When i partially removed the weather stripping from the drivers side door and partially removed the headline,r i could feel that the roof liner in the area was still wet as was a portion of the side curtain airbag. I called my local honda dealer (valley honda monroeville pa service dept.) on 01/18/17 and was told "we can't help you.call a body shop."i am concerned thatthe water entering the vehicle will damage or affect the side curtain air bag.i should tell you that on 12/30/16, i had the air bag inflator replaced as per the takata driver's air baginflator recall call and ever since this area is leaking!help!

The contact owns a 2010 honda ridgeline. The contact stated that the windshield wipers were located too low on the hood and whenever it snows the wipers get stuck causing them not to work properly. He had to use a screwdriver in order to release them. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to notify the dealer. The dealer was unable to offer any assistance since they were unable to change the design of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 6,500.

While parked on driveway with the front of the vehicle facing west at aproxx 6pm the rear passenger window exploded.

Driving on the highway after driving through about 8" of snow, the steering wheel started to shake so bad had to pull over and checkthat the wheels were tight. This was caused by snow on the inside of the rim ice would roll around acting like a wheel weight .this could cause someone to loose control of their car. This seems to be a poor design today is 2/1/2011 in boston it snowed about 7" driving home the same problem happen .i had to clean out the snow from the inside of the rim.i should not have to do this after driving through deep snow.
