Takata recall. Front passenger seat has been unusable since a july, 2016 notice from honda stating that the front passenger seat should not be occupied until the airbag has been replaced. Planet honda in lakewood colorado ordered both front airbags on 7/6/16 since i had not been notified from honda that parts were available. I finally received notice from the dealer that parts were in and the dealer installed the driver's side bag on 9/17/16, but informed me that the passenger-side airbag had not arrived, but still on order. I have checked with the dealer two times, and been informed that the parts are still unavailable. This delay is causing great inconvenience in my family because of lack of passenger capacity. I get the feeling that honda is not complying with this recall in a timely fashion

We received a notice in march 2016 from honda which states, "the defect (airbags) in these vehicles could kill or injure you or other people in your vehicle." we have been contacting the dealer since then. In july, we received another notice with another dire message...that we should avoid having a passenger in the front seat until the repair has been performed. During these 5 months, the delay in repair has cost us a camping vacation and several trips involving our bikes. Out truck sits waiting for this repair. On july 22, i had planned to surprise my husband with a bike ride in monterey for his birthday. We had been assured that the repair would be completed by this time. Our plans will have to be cancelled. In late august we have campground reservations for lake tahoe and yosemite. We tow a trailer with our truck. We are disgusted and furious by honda's lack of care for our lives and also that we have had to give up our vacations. I feel like joining a class action lawsuit. We are still waiting after 5 months.

Takata recall.numerous calls to the dealer over a 6 month period. No service appointment scheduled (parts are always "unavailable" or "on back order").since this is a product defect that can cause fatal injuries, the delay is not reasonable or acceptable.

Takata recall. I first contacted honda dealer in mid-april. My vehicle is still not repaired.
Takata recall air bags
Takata recall.it has been more than 60 days since i have contacted honda to replace the airbag in my truck and still have no replacement.
Takata recall - honda sent me a recall letter advising me that they didn't have the parts and would provide alternative transportation.i called the dealer and the 1-888-234-2138 honda customer service numbers.they advised me that i will only get a vehicle that they can rent for $35 a day or less.i have a ridgeline truck that has seating for 5 and a bed for cargo.i have a family of 6 and have to get 4 children and their bicycles to a babysitter every day.i also am a boy scout leader and take scouts and their gear camping at least once a month.a midsize or compact car is not an adequate replacement for the honda that they need to take away from me.made two calls to the local dealer and three calls to the 1-888# for honda.honda said they would assign a case manager, but it has been three weeks with no return call.if honda has a recall and the truck they sold me is not safe, then i feel they have the responsibility to offer me something similar (seating for 5 + cargo space).they have left me in a situation where i have to drive the unsafe vehicle because the arbitrary limit on the rental car does not allow them to provide me with a suitable replacement that allows me to get my family where we need to go.the stress of driving my family and boy scouts around in an unsafe vehicle creates an incredible amount of stress for me.in my final call today to 888-234-2138 (honda customer service), they advised me that my next step is to file a complaint. I feel i have been patient awaiting honda to call me back. Toyota provided a like for like loaner when they had to park vehicles waiting for airbag parts.
Regarding: takata recall !i have received three notices, one in february 2016, one in march 2016 and one in july 2016.the first two notices were informing of the recalls for the hondas that are affected by these air bags.the third notified me that the air bag replacement would be available summer/fall of 2016.they also state, red letters!, that a passenger should not be in this vehicle until the air bag problem is fixed. The letters also state that if this air bag recall is not addressed and repaired in 60 days from the notice, i may file a complaint. Well, here is my complaint!!now, i ask and need to know, that this air bag problem will be fixed immediately. Please advise what i need to do to remedy it.one, i cannot afford not to use my vehicle, passengers or no passengers.two, i do not feel safe in this vehicle now, whereas in the past i did before knowing this about the air bags and now it is dragging out.i need this fixed as soon as possible.would you feel safe in a recalled vehicle, waiting for the worst to happen???and knowing that if the worst were to happen, it could have been avoided if it was addressed in a timely manner???and worst yet, if an accident were to occur that otherwise one would walk away from, but instead was severely injured or killed because of this air bag problem, how can the this be allowed to happen because of the powers-that-be in this recall are dragging this thing out.fix it!! thank you for reading my note.

I received a letter from honda in july 2016 stating that my passenger-side airbag was recalled due to a faulty inflator. The letter states that replacement parts "will become available in late summer/fall of 2016." we are now into the third week of january 2017, and when i spoke with honda last week i was told that parts were still not available. I have not been able to transport passengers for 6 months and honda could give me no estimate as to when i can expect my vehicle to be repaired.
Takata recalli received a letter dated march 2016 for the recall on the airbag. According to the letter, parts were going to be available in summer 2016. I checked with the dealer today 7/30/2016 and the dealertold me hey would have to order the parts. It will be another 4-5 months for the parts.i am continuing to drive the vehicle hoping i do not get in an crash where the airbag is deployed. Why is honda sending out letters stating summer of 2016 for parts and the dealer is saying 4-5 months before we get the parts. No help from the dealer at all on this.

Takata recall - received notice contacted dealer. They will give me a "loaner" vehicle until my vehicle gets fixed. I need a vehicle with a hitch capable of towing a trailer that is 4000 lbs with a hitch weight of 285. They said they can't provide that without me paying an upgrade cost of about 30$. I contacted american honda and opened a case to have them pay the upgrade. So far they have not provided any information and as of last week the case hadn't even been assigned to a case manager. When i spoke with them today, they said the case manager hadn't made a decision. So meanwhile i drive around in an unsafe vehicle. My case with american honda is #04585652. My notice said if i wasn't satisfied with the way honda is remedying the situation to write you folks. Please help...

Takata recall - i own 2 hondas that are both under recall at the same time for the same issues.i have requested a rental from honda due to fear for my life and the life of my passengers.they told me to not let someone ride in the front passenger seat.which means i can only transport 4 people instead of 5 that the car is suppose to safely transport.i bought this automobile to transport 5 people safely.honda is telling me i can't transport 5 people safely until this is fixed.honda needs to provide me with safe transportation for 5 people until they can fix this car to transport 5 people safely.my compliant is honda is not providing me with my car or another car to transport 5 people safely which is what i purchased from them.

Takata recallamerican honda motor co. (ahmc)is only providing alternative transportation in the limited form of a rental car. My affected vehicle is a truck with which i tow a boat. I was informed by ahmc that replacement parts for the recall will not be available until august or september.their letter states that it is not safe to drive and that "the defect could kill or injure you or other people in your vehicle". They would not authorize any local dealership to provide a replacement vehicle capable of towing. This is not reasonable, given it will be possibly 5 or 6 months (april - sep) before i will be able to use the truck again, which means i cannot use my boat either, during the summer months!

"takata recall" i took my truck in on 3/2/2016 to local honda dealership for routine maintenance and to have the takata recall taking care of on the drivers airbag. When the servicing was done the service adviser informed me that they did not have the airbag available and he would call once they got them, he said about a week. So i gave them till 4/11/2016 then i called the service adviser back he informed me to give them another week and call back. On 4/19/2016 i call back and spoke to another adviser and he informed me that they did not have them and to call back in 2 weeks. 5/4/2016 i call back and spoke with the first adviser i did business with on 3/2/2016 he told me they still did not have them and he would call me when they came in. On 7/19/2016 i decided to call them back since i had not heard from anyone and spoke to a third adviser which he in turn transferred me back to the original adviser and upon talking with him he said he didn't know if they had came in and i informed him i had received a second recall for the passenger side airbag. He said he would check and call me back. Today is 8/11/2016 i have till yet to hear from the adviser or anyone else.

"takata recall"i'd gotten a notice from art moehn chevrolet & honda and it said i need to have my airbags replaced.that was several months ago.i'm on some kind of waiting list.in the mean time i drive on an interstate highway daily to work.why aren't there enough airbags for the recall?are we waiting for more people to be killed?is the government going to give us free rental cars til enough airbags get reproduced?
Yakata recallwe received a recall notice in march.we talked to ellis brooks honda in yreka ca. Who didn't have the air bags yet. On may 2 we called again and got put on a list for the air bag replacement as soon as available. On june 6 we contacted ellis brooks honda again. Still no airbags. This time we said we needed a rental car. There were none available in siskiyou county. On june 14 they sent us 80 miles to redding ca to get a rental car. It's now july 21. We have not been able to drive our pickup for about 4 months. We can't go camping our boating with the little rental so our summer is ruined. According to ellis brooks honda there is no air bag in sight. We want our ridgeline fixed!!!

Takata recall air bag last spring took about 5 or 6 months before my dealership in dubuque iowa even got them in. I called a couple times since this was unsafe to drive me and my family around on trips and so fourth. Still got a response that honda created the recall with numerous companies, and can't produce all these airbags. Maybe they should of thought of that b4 the recall.... So i think honda or someone should of paid me compensation for driving a vehicle around that wasn't safe at all if i was involved in a crash in some way? i don't know exact date the first airbag recall came out

Takata recall - received a recall notice for the driver side airbag in march 2016 (16v-061) and then a passenger side airbag in july 2016 (16v-344). In july, i requested the dealer put me on a list to address the recall. Three months later, and my dealership still does not have the parts to fix the airbag inflator issue. Furthermore, the dealer stated that honda was no longer providing an alternative form of transportation while waiting for the parts.

"takata recall"i had scheduled an appointment with bob howard honda , edmond oklahoma to get the faulty passenger side airbag replaced, i had called them almost two months ago and back then , gary millican ( service rep ) had promised me that i would be provided a loaner or rental car reimbursement. After that conversation, i was assuming that a part would have been ordered specifically for my vehicle. I have tried to minimize anyone sitting in the passenger side ever since the recall notice was received in the mail. After i had initiated the request, the accountability was squarely with bob howard honda to get back to me after the part was received. That never happened. Last week, i set up an appointment with them specifically stating that the i would be bringing in my vehicle on saturday, august 6, 2016 to replace the airbag. I got a appointment confirmation as well as a reminder. When i went in, the service advisor , logan told me that the part wasn't in stock and he will have to order it. When i asked him that if i could get a loaner or a rental reimbursement ( my primary concern was that my wife is 4 months pregnant and i wanted to reduce any chance of the faulty part causing harm to her as well as the unborn child ). But i was told that honda policy is not to provide either as it just affected the passenger side. I would have no other option but to seek legal help in this total lack of seriousness on honda's part. When a vehicle is sold, it isn't sold as a means of transportation just for one person ( the driver ). If its undriveable with a passenger , it should be deemed undriveable. Honda cannot shirk away from the responsibility of compensating customers for alternative methods of transportation when their initial contract of providing a safe vehicle wasn't adhered to.

Takata recall have contacted dealer 4 times since 4/25/16 and still no action. Last call on 8/2/16 was told they did not know when they would get the air bags.
Takata recall--no incident has occurred yet. I am still waiting, since may 2016 for relief, unable to use the passenger front seat of my vehicle. I am tired of waiting, and of being unable to use my vehicleas i need to. Please help me get this fixed, or a vehicle i can use while i wait. This is affecting my business drastically, as well as my family, as i need to carry passengers during the majority of my driving. This issue involves the nhtsa recall 16v-344.
Takata recall the honda dealer requires a $10 daily premiumfor temporary alternative transportation as necessary.they will not supply a truck which i need for work unless i pay the premium mentioned above.
The air conditioner on my new 2008 honda ridgeline stopped working.truck had 4,000 miles at the time.i brought it to the dealership and was told that a wire inside the dash board had melted and that a wire harness needed to be replaced.repairs were made under warranty and problem is resolved but i was lucky not to have a fire.
Over the course of 2 weeks we would turn the dial for the heat and it would kick in and blow warm air and then it would stop. We took it to inver grove honda to get it fixed and they replaced the blower. It actually worked for about a week, then stopped again ...completely... On a day that it was -20 degrees with wind chill. They now have told us that the wiring for that unit is melted and the entire wire harness needs to be replaced. This is running us around $1800. The mechanic told my husband this isn't the first time he's seen this. We then researched further to find the problem all over the internet. See here: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?p=418168i called honda for an explanation, guarantee that this won't happen again or further start my vehicle on fire. After all, how does a wire melt? it must get hot... Therefore this is a concern to me with children in my vehicle a large percentage of the time. They said they can not guarantee this won't happen again and due to the mileage they can't financially help fund the repair. They have no explanation as to how this happened. The claim number submitted was: [xxx]. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Hvac blower failed to operate. Fuse was good. Relay was good. Brought to honda under platinum warranty. Honda replaced the blower motor sub-harness and the connector on the right side dash harness and repaired wires as needed. The white/blue wire had melted at the connector causing an open circuit. 4.8 hours labor. No charge to me, under warranty. Seems to be a common complaint. While fixing this problem they found that the rear brake pads were worn down to less than 3mm. The brake pads and rotors were replaced less than 4000 miles ago by another shop. Ill be back to honda soon for right rear caliper warranty.
Ac/heaterwire harness melted and no longer works.
Blower motor wiring failureblower fan stopped working with ac replaced resistor but wiring harness is nonfunctioning smelled smoke.
A/c blower motor quit running(intermittently) dec. 2016 & july 2017, stopped completely july 2017. No heat in winter and no cooling in summer. Also battery was drained of it's charge , had to be jump started with potential need for replacement. Dealer is working on fixing. Found a transistor failed then later found a burnt elec. Connector in wiring harness. Dealer contacted honda corp., no 2008 recalls but mfg. Will accept 50% reduction of repair part replacement of harness, truck is at dealer service for mon. Tues. & wed.,7/31/17 thru. 8/2/17, received loaner car till it is fixed. Costs are now up to over $650 and climbing. (not including my major stress and inconvenience for a 79 year old.) checked on various web sites and found many major safety and expensive electrical issues with this honda issue as well as fire destruction in some cases, but no recalls. Dealer states this is a "new service issue" to them and after my constant pressure on them to resolve the problem they are more cooperative to fix it! time will tell where this will go from here.
Wiring harness for ac and heater not working. Recall was done to honda vehicles up too 2007 with same problem. Intermitting problem while driving and stationary.
2008 honda ridgeline blower fan stopped working due to failure of wiring harness with melted connector.the 2008 model year is not covered by recall for same problem for previous honda ridgelines (2005-07).
Driving onto highway with a/cand heard crackling/sputtering and then blower quit.took to dealer and the service dept determinedthat wiring connector from under hood fuse/relay box led to a melted connector behind console instrument panel to the left of the steering colum.lucky it did not cause fire.visited ridgline owners site and found it was not an isolated issueand was reported by several others..
The contact owns a 2008 honda ridgeline. While driving approximately 65 mph, the top panel on the roof of the vehicle where the courtesy lights and wiring were housed detached completely onto the road. In addition, the air conditioner became inoperable and the wiring harness melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. The vin was unavailable.
Heater blower fan stopped working.took to dealer 11/29/12.dealer inspected, found melted wiring harness beneath dash.cost to repair approximately $900.00.this is a fire hazard and has affected 07 and earlier model ridgelines per nhtsa campaign id number: 10v001000.recall should be expanded to include 2008 models.
2008 honda ridgelinefan blower motor failed causing wiring harness and resistor to fail.wiring harness melted but fuse did not blow. This is a definite fire and smoke hazard. There are many other instances of this same exact problem in 2006 - 2008 my vehicles.
The wiring harness for the blower motor melted behind the center lower dash area at a connection point.the vehicle had just been started and the a/c would not come on. The a/c came on briefly the next day and then failed again and has not come back on. Investigation of the wiring came up with melted point of contact. This could have easily caused a fire and was a known issue with the years prior to 2008.
Possible fire hazard:a/c stopped working on 22nd of august.dealer ship said that the wiring harness melted and blower fan seized.the fuse did not blow.they said they are also going to replace the transistor on the circuit.the car is a 2008 honda ridgeline rtx with 15000 miles on it.the high temperature was 86 f.
The contact owns a 2008 honda ridgeline. The contact stated that the driver noticed sparks at the vehicle front end. The vehicle was moved to another parking spot and within seconds, the vehicle's hood was on fire. The fire spread to the windshield and the dash board area. The fire department was present. The dealer advised that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number 10v001000 (electrical system). The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 56,000.
I started my truck and the air would not blow. I smelled the burning of electricity. I took it into the dealership to be inspected and they said that there was an electrical short in the dash harness where it connects to the blower motor. They quoted me $1,500 to fix it. Apparently this was a common problem that was recalled in the 2007 model but nothing has been done for the 2008 model. There should be a recall.
Own a 2008 honda ridgeline, around 90000 miles on it but don't have exact # because it is at the dealer. Bought new in 2008. The heater fan stopped working so it is at the dealers service shop. Was told the wire harness connector was melted because of high resistance. This seems to be a seriousproblem and fire danger with the ridgeline. From what i can find on my own this is not just one isolated case it has happened to many ridgelines. Would be nice if honda would step up and make it right and safe! also other honda ridgeline have been recalled or covered for this problem why not the 2008.
Possible fire hazard. Heater blower motor wiring harness melted! ( 2006 & 2007 ridgelines recalled for same problem) not yet the 2008replaced at dealership under honda care extended warranty.
I drive my 2008 ridgeline on a daily basis.in the morning of the 18th of december my heat and air worked fine.later in the evening i went to go out and my fan/heat/air would not work.i changed a few fuses but still got nothing.i took the truck to my dealer where i get all of my repairs and maintenance done.they stated it was more than likely a relay since the motor was working properly.i received a call today that the problem is a wiring harness that melted and then she tells me its a 9 hour job to replace and costs over 600.00 dollars.well it looks like the 2006,and 2007 ridgelines have the same problem and i think honda needs to be persuaded to include the 2008 models before someone gets hurt.i have read online that this is not an uncommon problem and has happened to several other 2008's around the u.s.thanks.
The contact owned a 2008 honda ridgeline. The vehicle was parked and shut off for a few minutes when the contact noticed a fire started on the instrument panel near the passenger side. The fire department responded to extinguish the fire and a policereport was filed. No injuries were reported but the vehicle was destroyed due to fire damage. The vehicle was towed to an insurance lot where they were in the process of diagnosing the failure. The failure and current mileages were 50,500. The vin was unavailable.
Hvac fan motor stopped running at approximately 72,000 miles on 2008 honda ridgeline rtl;no fire, smoke or smell.took to dealer to troubleshoot, and advised wiring harness connector had melted (asked for part back, and observed large grey connector was melted/burned at the largest blue-on-white wire).repair cost $190.26, but am concerned that hvac fan, and possibly other hvac compents, may also be damaged and may need to be replaced--working fine now.have searched online and found that this is fairly common issue with ridgeline's, was subject to safety recall for 2006 thru 2007 models of specific manufacture dates, but seems to still continue to occur though the 2008 models as well--appears to be factory defect, and feel american honda should reimburse all with this issue.defintely could be serious fire and safety hazard.
I have no blower fan to work ac or heat defrost wiring maybe under rated guage size
Honda ridgeline was parked. Started truck, ac was on, set at 66 but no cold air was blowing. Moved the manual blower button to high, still no cold air blowing. Shut ac off and switched to heater no air was blowing.took truck to honda dealer in new hampshire for oil change/tire rotation and had them look at ac/heater problem. They said that blower motor may have a bad resistor, if they replace resistor and blower still not working they would have to replace blower motor.dealer looked at recall history for this problem for honda ridgline, said there was recall for ac/heater issues but not for my year (2008).i googled honda ridgeline 2008 ac problems and found other truck owners reporting the same problem.
The blower fan on my 2008 honda ridgeline recently quit working. The dealership found that the wiring harness had melted causing the fan to stop working. The wiring harness was replaced. I did not receive the old harness.
Smelled burning wires on several occasions but assumed was surrounding environment. On the referenced date the blower motor quit working. Upon further diagnostics the wiring harness from the blower motor was found to be melted at the power wire connection located under the center console. Still trying to get an answer from honda since the '06 '07 ridgelines have a similar safety recall and an online search shows many are having the same issue even into the "08's but without a recall. A burning/melting wire harness is a serious safety issue and shouldn't be ignored.
Heater blower fan stopped working. Took to dealer 7/25/16 dealer inspected, found melted wiring harness beneath dash. Cost to repair approximately $1000.00. This is a fire hazard and has affected 07 and earlier model ridgelines per nhtsa campaign id number: 10v001000. Should include 2008 also!
The blower motor in my 2008 honda ridgeline quit functioning. A local honda dealership found that a dash wire harness needed to be replaced. There was a burnt out pin connector...? i am lucky that my truck didn't start on fire! there is no recall on this 2008 model so i had to pay for this faulty wire harness connection out of my pocket.
The contact owns a 2008 honda ridgeline. The contact stated that the heating and air conditioning blower failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical wiring harness needed to be replaced. The technician mentioned that the wiring harness had burned and melted, which caused the heating and air conditioning blower to fail. The contact was advised that the failure was a potential fire hazard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 61,000.
The contact owns a 2008 honda ridgeline. The contact statedthe heating and air conditioning blower failed. The dealer diagnosed the failure at the heating and air-conditioning electrical wiring harness. The dealer replaced the wiring harness at the contact's expense. The contact was able to locate nhtsa recall campaign id number: 10v001000 (electrical system: instrumental panel) but was advised by the manufacturer that his vin was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 75,000.

Fitting failure of transmission line connection at radiator, causing damage to cooling system and transmission. Vehicle is rendered inoperable. Suspected cause is poorly designed radiator fitting.
The contact owns a 2008 honda ridgeline. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle started to stall with the temperature gauge showing a very high reading. The driver restarted the vehicle and drove to her residence. The contact stated he also experience the failure. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact stated that when he opened the hood he saw a pink substance bubbling up from an unknown plastic container on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. The contact called the local dealer colonial honda of dartmouth (225 state rd, dartmouth, ma 02747, (508) 996-6800) and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Just driving along @ 20mph the transmission started to hesitate then start slipping. Lucky enough to limp home 1 mile away from where it started. Transmission fluid was pouring out of the radiator overflow container. I had no transmission fluid showing on dipstick. Engine oil was normal. I replaced the radiator as i saw countless people online with same issue. The trans line inside the radiator ruptured putting into circulation the coolant/trans fluid mixture throughout the engine and heater core. Fortunately this trans fluid mixture was not being sucked back into the transmission, purely a miracle in this case. This is an issue that is a fault in engineering, and not "if" this will happen to your vehicle is a matter of when. This car has 140k on it and has been meticulously maintained, no reason for this failure have had cars with 300k not have this problem.
Fan blower motor stopped working. A/c compressor will turn on (heat, as well), however no air will blow. This is intermittent and does not always occur. The fan will eventually turn on and start blowing air.
Sideengine mounts was found damaged .this truck it only 3 year old. Should dealer replace it?
2008 honda engine surge when running normal speed.*njthe consumer stated the problem happened when he was slowing down to come to a stop. The surge would last about 1 to 2 seconds and the rpm's would return to normal.it would also happen when the engine was operating at regular temperature or when it was cold and when the cruise control was on or off.
Motor mounts showed failure with less than 30k. Have fixed the problem but internet search shows multiple concerns from other honda ridgeline owners with same failure with low mileage on vehicles within a 5 year or less model.

2006-2009 honda ridgelines come with an emergency tire jack that is a safety hazard to all who use it. The jack is too small in size and barely lifts the ridgeline on a flat concrete surface. If this jack was used in an emergency on the side of a road or any other soft surface area it would not work and the vehicle would most likely fall.the jack bends at its max height required to lift the ridgeline up enough to change a tire at the jack points called out by the owners manual.american honda has been notified by several members of the ridgeline owners club but nothing has been done and members have purchased new safer jacks on their own to avoid the safety hazard of using the factory jack. This affects all ridgeline model years.their are pics of the jack fully extended at http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10510&highlight=jackedbottom line: the jack needs to be replaced by american honda.

The oem factory jack is too short to raise the 2008 honda ridgeline high enough to remove the tires. I extended the jack as high as it would go on flat, level ground. I was forced to find a wood block to raise it high enough. Shouldn't this be a recall item? there are ridgeline owners everywhere with the same issue.

On saturday december 08,2018 @ 550pm i pulled into parking spot at supermarket and left my 2008 ridgeline running while i went into supermarket about 15 minutes ,and when i returned transmission fluid and antifreeze and drained out my ridgeline onto ground and rideline would not go into drive. Had to have it towed home.

2008 ridgeline...i have taken it to the dealer on 2 occasions reporting the i can push the brake pedal to the floor. After stopping at a traffic light and with light pressure on the brake pedal i am able to push the pedal right to the floor boards. Dealer has bleed the brakes the first time and did nothing the second, stating that the brakes on all 2008 ridgelines were the same.

Canada - honda ridgeline soft break peddle with little effort. *ln
On august 22,2009 while traveling northbound on the hutchinson river parkway in the bronx, with moderate congestion,i applied normal pressure to the brake pedal of my 2008 honda ridgeline to hear a pop and snap and loss of all brake pressure.the event left me with no brakes, traveling at approximately 35mph in the left lane of the parkway.trying to avoid a collision i struck the median guardrail and another vehicle traveling in the left lane in front of me.the accident left my vehicle un-drivable and had to be towed to a repair shop nearby.this was the first such problem and it was/is a major one that has not been addressed by either the dealership or corporation. Four months after the accident the vehicle was repaired and returned to me with no admission by any honda representative of fault due to manufacturers defect in the brake system which was discovered and confirmed by an independent engineering firm.it is my fear that this malfunction will happen again and cause a more serious accident in the future.this malfunction should not be handled lightly and should be considered a life threatening issue that must be addressed and corrected immediately.
Brakes. 2008 honda ridgeline. Spongy pedal, excessive pedal travel. Dealer says it's normal & declines to remedy under warranty.

Power steering is very noisy, and steering vehicle is increasingly difficult at lower speeds.
2008 honda ridgeline - power steering failure.. Creaks and groans in power steering, tough to turn at low speeds. Dealer - planet honda in golden, colorado diagnosed failure of the power steering pump and noted that they had seen many such failures.
7 year old vehicle i purchased in 09 while still under factory warranty . Power steering pump is beginning to fail as intermintatly wheel feels very stiff in 2 or 3 inch increments of turning. Hope to make it past new years b4 replacing. Fluid was r&red at 39k by honda. Vehicle now has 44k. These incedents happen just after cranking with sufficient warm up of at least 30 to 55 seconds and pulling or backing out of location.
The contact owns a 2008 honda ridgeline.the contact stated that the lower tailgate would not open properly.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the cables connecting to the tailgate became loose, which caused the component to fail.the dealer tightened the cables, but the failure immediately recurred.the failure and current mileages were 7,000.

Body rust, vehicle has 66,000 miles but it is unsafe to drive because of structural weakness due to excessive rust damage to the underside of the vehicle.
I purchased this truck in july of 2020 and i just found that it has a unsusal amount of rust on the undercarriage of the truck .
My 2008 honda ridgeline truck is in very good shape, garage kept, well maintained, with only 72k mi.we were driving under the speed limit on i-83n from de to pa, during the rainy night of nov. 18,2015.we heard a flap-rip sound, and thought it was the (after market) bed cover flapping at the cab corner, because a cover clip had weakened there during this highway drive from ga to pa, allowing the cover to flap in wind, and needed refastening whenever we stopped for gas.it was the next morning in the light when we realized the entire cab top-rear panel (break light, wiring & all) had dislodged completely off the truck, and decided this was probably the ripping sound we heard on i-83 the night before, though we did not know at the time, and pray no danger resulted behind us.we took the truck back to the local honda dealer where it was purchased, to see what they could do to compensate, which was only to offer $50 discount on $400 of parts, also said they had never heard of the issue, even though carcompliants.com had a posting.we instead have a local mechanic waiting on the part to replace the panel at less cost, because the light is needed, and we have temporary duct tape over the wiring hole for protection.our position is that this is a manufacturer's safety defect, and should be recalled!no market body part should just fly off the truck, especially when it can result in accidents, injury, and possibly even death!
Paint peeling on roof and the hood color black cherry
My 6 year old grabs the rear entry handle on the inside of the truck behind the driver seat to help her get in and out of the vehicle. Today when she grabbed it getting in the top part of the handle ripped right off the interior wall causing her to fall backwards. Thankfully she was not injured but she very easily could have cracked her head open on the pavement.the screws that holds the rear entry handle to the truck are very tiny. I cant tell if it just came loose and backed itself out, or if it stripped.if one of these handles breaks loose from a 45 lb child, i could only imagine the handle would be more prone to breaking if an adult used it.the handle breaking off could very easily cause a serious injury by someone falling as they enter/exit the vehicle.i will be taking my vehicle to the dealer next week to get this fixed hopefully.
Turned on the car one day and the blower no longer worked for the heater, ac, or the defroster. After doing some research online with a mechanic friend of mine, it seems that it is not uncommon on this vehicle. Past years have been recalled for this issue. I don't known why the 2008 has not been recalled. It should be.

Went to get into truck, it was parked in the garage over night.opended the back door and found glass sitting on the back seat mostly, very small parts in the bed. The rear sliding back glass exploded into the cabin and was in the closed position when it happened. Don't know what time it happen found it the next morning after the truck was sitting overnight. Took it to the dealer they said they never seen it before and would have to call honda tech support before a decision can be made.
While sitting at a traffic light with my rear slide window partially open on my 2008 honda ridgeline the window suddenly imploded into the rear area of the truck.glass sprayed all over the back seat down between the gaps in the back wall and a amall amount into the bed.in order to ensure this was not caused by something outside the truck i called the local police who checked the truck looking for rocks, bullets, bbs, etc.they determined there was no external cause.
I was driving down the freeway at ~ 60 mph with the center back window open about half way.the center back window shattered and blew small sharp pieces of glass all over the inside of the truck.small pieces of glass pierced my wrist as i attempted to clean the mess once i was at home.
The heater / ac stopped working on my 08 rts honda ridgeline. There were no events that lead up to the failure. The dealers service department stated that heater wire harness overheated and burned up for an unknown reason. They are having to order the replacement parts, but i am concerned whether this is a fire hazard.

In a snow storm as the windshield wipers were working snow started to build up in the space between the hood and the windshield as the wipers pushed it down. The space filled with packed snow from the wipers packing it down. At the point when the space was full the windshield wipers stopped working and would not start again until the snow was cleaned out by hand. Once cleared the snow started to build up again followed by the wipers stopping again, and again and again. This was the first snow storm in this truck.
