Vehicle has experienced a 1 to 1&1/2 quars oil loss for every 1k miles driven since purchased. Honda and isuzu have been contacted and stated this as normal usage.

The contact owns a 1995 honda passport.the mechanic found a pen hole crack in the radiator and made the repair.when the contact activated the air conditioner, all of the antifreeze seeped through the pen hole crack and onto the engine.currently, the engine is vibrating and shaking and the vehicle is burning fuel.the current and failure mileages were 186,667. Updated 09/18/07

The engine will not start after shutting down.the engine had been replaced three times.

From my understanding the premature failure of the lifters is quite extensive throughout the us.why hasn't anything been done about this?shouldn't the manufacturer have to cover the cost of this repair?it set me back $4,100.00.

At 70,000 miles consumer starts hearing a tapping noise coming fromengine. Took to dealer, andwas told that the engine was just noisy.

Vehicle lost power, causing accident.

Intermittent engine failure.

At approximately 40000 miles the engine started to use an excessive amount of oil.it now takes an additional 1.5 - 2 qts every 3000 miles.i believe this is not normal vehicle operation.the manufacturer claims this is normal oil consumption.i have never owned a car that used oil like this.i believe there is something wrong with the valve guides or piston rings.

Every 3,000 miles the truck burned about 1.5 quart of oil, took dealer who saidthat it was normal .

I bought the vehicle used...it smokes white smoke...takes several tries to start...engine dies...will not shift down automatically...oil gushes out everywhere...uses excessive amounts of fuel...got trapped in vehicle with my two children because electrical system would not unlock doors.

I have a 1995 honda passport with a noticable clicking or ticking noise in the engine.i have done exaustive research with other owners through the internet.i believe a recall should be applied to this engine defect.there are simply too many other passport drivers with the same problem.at this time i understand there is a bulletin from honda about the clicking but no recall.i am forty years old and have never had to issue a complaint like this.i just have a true gut feeling that this defect is for real.please let me know if there have been other such notices from consumers.most i assume do not realize the nhtsa is available for this purpose.please let me know if i am going to get some relief on this matter.thanks for your time.respectfully, clifton davis

Fuel line that runs from the injector of top of the engine to thefuel tank is partly a rubber hose. Rubber hose holding the fuel was melted which caused fuel to leak.the exhaust manifold melted the rubber hose.

Throttle stuck on 1995 honda passport/isuzu rodeo resulting in death of buddy thatcher at airport auto auction in alcoa tn. Since then another passport throttle has stuck while being driven to auction. Investigation has shown that there is a problem with the throttle cable housing which results in this failure--this is a life and death issue and i wanted to report/check to see if it has been reported /on other years and model--passport and rodeo ran from 1994 to 2002. Probable isuzu trooper has same issue.

When i was driving it to work, it began to pull back as if i had the e-brake on, which i did not.i took it into be looked at and they said the transmission needed to be replaced.the mileage is so low that i dont understand why it needs to be replaced, that the transmission oil was dark & burnt.we have had the car only 2months so how could that be our fault if the dealership did their safety check properly on the car.this is a defect on the part of the dealer we purchased it at (star ford) as is the fault of the honda dealer.

The vehicle shifts into neutral whilebeing driven.

A leak has developed in the rear differentialpossibly due to connection bolt that is too short, causing left side to slip out.please provide further information.

My 1995 1/2-1996 honda passport has been damaged beyond repair and classified as unsafe to drive. Last week while turning the vehicle from a complete stop off an exit, obviously at a slow rate of speed, it slid on some ice having the front driver's wheel hitting a low curb. Thinking the alignment was knocked out, i was totally shocked when the repair shop told me that the frame had cracked along with damage to the steering box. The vehicle was sent to a welding shop for the repair until i was notified that this was not the only spot with problems. Apparently the whole frame has numerous spots that are completely rusted through. In my research i have found that the honda passport was part of an agreement with isuzu manufacturing of america in lafayette, indiana to be manufactured. I have also found that isuzu had a recall involving their vehicles made between 1993-1996 for weld problems on the frames. It involved the rodeo, trooper, pickup, amigo and the acura slx. American honda motor company never, from what i can see, recalled or notified anyone of the same problems with their vehicles. The incident that occurred, luckily did not involve any fatalities or injuriesbut clearly honda should be discussing a buy back option for this inferior vehicle.i have and still own honda vehicles that never have had this problem. I purchase hondas for their reliability, structure and safety. When this type of serious problem occurs with vehicles manufactured at the same plant and only one company notifies consumers, the other should be held accountable, even if after the fact.please get back to me as soon as possible with a solution. I am now without a car and as you can imagine, it causes problems.thank you.

No incident of any kind however, i have noticed presence of heavy rust on the chassis/frame of the car.date of production11/95.

Consumer states when driving vehicle pulls to the right, also the master cylinder was discovered to be inoperative, and vehicle shakes when in idle.

I just purchased this vehicle used for blue book value from a reputable dealer. I was told the only problems were the blower motor and rear doors were stuck closed. I fixed those problems easily and began driving it to work and back every day. After putting about 350 miles on it, i heard something smack the undercarriage and in my rearview i saw a chunk of rust on the road. When i got home i looked underneath and discovered that my entire frame is completely rusted with holes the size of my fist in about 10 different areas, some of which are key structural areas. At work, i raised it up on a lift and had a welder take a look. His face turned white and said it was way beyond a simple patch job here and there. Upon research i discovered that all these models have similar issues. I am still driving the vehicle because it is my only one and i cant afford to do anything about it right now. The estimated cost just to patch a few places to limp it along for another year was almost what i paid for the truck. The whole reason i bought it was because i need a reliable vehicle to drive in wisconsin winters and its a honda. Other than that it is a great running vehicle with no other major issues, but the frame rust is enough to render it unusable. I drive 80 miles a day on an interstate at 65-70 mph and am very concerned for my safety and the safety of others. I realize its a vehicle up north where they use salt but i have had way older cars with not half as much damage from rust. I am convinced that this is an isuzu faulty product issue and not normal for the age of the truck.

Shakes uncontrolably at 45mph and causing vehicle to lose control.tt

During vehicle operation over 40 mph,a grinding noise, like metal to metal contact and vibration throughout the vehicle is experienced.

There is a loud "clunk" noise in the front end.

Frame is rusted through in rear shackle area and requires extensive repair. Will inspect further, vehicle may require complete frame. Fuel lines and fuel tank are rusted beyond use and fuel leakage is evident. Vehicle will require new fuel tank and replacement fuel lines.

I have had my 1995.5 honda passport since new. It has always been well taken care of. The body panels, interior and engine are in excellent condition at 175,000 miles. However, upon inspection it was deemed as unsafe to drive due to the entire frame rusting out from bottom up. No rust on any of the body panels, only the frame. I feel all years of the passport should be recalled as my suv is unsafe to drive and cannot be repaired without a full frame replacement.

When vehicle exceeds50mph it loses power.driver receives no indication. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

Vehicle wouldn't accelerate properly/losing power.

Oil leakage fouls spark plugs causing poor gas mileage, performance, smell. All power windows approaching failure due to lack of rail lubricant.

The two shops i visited (midas and goodyear) said this is a very common problem with isuzu rodeo and troopers, and honda passports.they thought it had been recalled by now.dt

Wheel lugs and studs broke off several times.
