I was driving on i-95 n in northern va around mile marker 145, around noon, when all of a sudden both driver and passenger airbags deployed.i was on flat smooth surface road and did not strike any obstacles in the roadway.after regaining control of the vehicle, i pulled it to the side of the road avoiding contact with other vehicles.i have a claim filed with north american honda(vehicle-1995 honda del sol vtec).the dealership(pohanka honda fredericksburg, va), at first, said that they "did not have an opinion on what transpired", because "this matter is too legally sensitive." after putting pressure on north american honda, they had the dealership put the car on a lift finally, and took pictures to email their corporate office in california.their corporate office then called me and stated that they felt it was reasonable that the airbags deployed because they found scratches on oil pan and exhaust system.these scratches are obviously old and have heavy rust, and they definitely shouldn't have caused the airbags to have deployed.honda has said that to repair the vehicle they would need to replace the airbag control module in addition to both airbags, which seems odd to me if they wont tell me what's wrong with the vehicle.

The car was traveling south bound on interstate 680.upon approach to the mission blvd exit there was wood pieces /debris in the number 3 & 4 lanes.the car rolled over one or more of the aforementioned wood pieces and sustained a flat tire on the front passenger side.at that moment both front airbags deployed.the driver was hit by the airbag.the impact was severe enough to push her into the drivers side door causing it to become misaligned.

False deployment of air bag while driving.

While driving at 10 mph both driver's and passenger's side airbags deployed for no reason without impact. Cause unknown.

On may 24, 2003, i was driving along on interstate 77 in west virginia on a sunny day in my 1995 honda del sol with the top off with the cruise control on and obeying the speed limit. Within seconds, something happened to.the car swerved across three lanes of traffic into the birm and back across those lanes. The last thing i remember is seeing is the hillside coming at me. I can't be sure what happened, but it felt like the cruise control sped up the car when the tire blew.i awoke in the hospital about two and one half hours later. Not only had i been unconscientious, i had amnesia. They had apparently found me on the side of the road, speaking to a passerby. I was taken to the hospital by amublence.someone said that the horrible pain in my chest was because i had hit the steering wheel with my chest. That, along with the laceration in the top-left side of the back of my head were evidence that my seat belt had not locked. The air bag failed to inflate.i contacted honda's custiomer service and cooperated fully with honda's private investigator. When i contacted honda for the results of the investigation, they refused to speak to me. They said that they would only speak to my attorney or my insurance company. When my insurance company called, they refused to talk to them. When i called them back, they told me that their company didn't investigate crashes.i told them that the company had sent a private investigator. Later, she called me back and told me that i could contact the private investigator and he would answer my questions.the p.i. Told me that honda's position was that the air bag didn't deploy because the car did not hit head on. When i asked him where exactly it would have had to been hit to inflate, he said he didn't know. When iasked him to get the information for me, he said he couldn't. When i asked for a copy of his report, he refused.

Two separate front end collisions at 45-50mph... Dirver and passenger air bags never deployed... One accident in wet conditions... Driver injured in both accidents... Estimated total damage for both accidents is at $10,000.

Driver side door hinge plate welds on the chassis of the vehicle have cracked causingitto close improperly.it can cause the door to open by itself if the hinge plate completely and it can cause an accident.
