I received a safety recall letter for the vin of my 2019 honda cr-v.the letter clearly informed me to call any authorized honda dealer to make an appointment to have the cable reel and cable reel sub-harness replaced and a protective cover on the steering wheel core installed for free.i called yonkers honda service center and i was told they don't have the required parts to fix the recall issue.after i talked to the dealer, i decided to call american honda motor co. I spoke to a customer service representative named samantha, who responded very unprofessionally and impatiently, told me to call each and every one of all honda dealers to find out who has the parts for the fix.i ended the call with samantha.i called again and spoke to another service rep. I was told that honda has not yet shipped the required parts to any of honda dealers and it will not happen until sometime in october 2019.i was misinformed by the letter to call honda dealers now when the dealers don't even have the parts.prompt action should be taken before any serious and unpredictable injuries/death due to the defects.

Srs system defect. Please find, attached, a letter entitled "important safety recall".i received this in early july from the dealer.when i called my honda dealer i was told i could bring the car in the following week. My service representative called back, in a few days, and told me the parts were not in yet and please call back in a few weeks.i called today, 8/5/2019, and was told my service rep. Was on vacation this week and i would be put on their "call back" list and contacted when the parts came in.then, i called the honda customer support center and was told the parts might be in "by the end of summer".the "what is the reason for this notice?" see below, states the dangers this defect can cause. I am very concerned about this!the honda representative said i just "have to wait" and there is nothing else they can do about this. No rental car. Etc.they (honda) told me they had to issue this warning, per government law, but they can't give a date to their customer as to when the defect will be resolved.any help, regarding this issue, would be greatly appreciated.

Recall 19v-383after many months of research, decided to purchase 2019 honda crv for our 16 year old son in april. Received notification on july 11, 2019 that there is a recall that could cause 'uncommand deployment of driver's airbag.'this recall was first issued in may 2019, however honda did not notify owners until mid july. Since this is a serious recall, i called several honda dealers in charlotte right away to schedule the repair. I was told by every single one that they do not have the parts in stock for current customer repairs and will not receive them until aug/sept. I was then told that the parts that they are receiving weekly are only for current inventory on the lot that they are trying to sell. What?!this does not make any sense! i was then told that the service department did not have a lot of info about this recall, i would have to call corporate. Called honda corporate and was assigned a claim number and was told i would be receiving a call in 24 hours.... 4 days later and still no call. This needs to be addressed now, i do not want to put my 16 year old son (or anyone for that matter) behind the wheel of a car where the driver airbag could randomly deploy at any moment. Pretty disappointed in the lack of concern honda is showing for their current customers.

Honda has recall my 2019 cr-v due to potential airbag release from a steering column wiring issue. They suggest not to drive the car. However the local honda dealers do not have the parts necessary to correct the problem and, in fact, do not know when they will be available. I am nervous driving my family because of their warning, but have to as it is the reliable vehicle i own. Please put maximum pressure on honda motors america.

If the car sits for 24 + hours the battery dies, i have had this happen 6 times now. Called dealer 3+ times, brought it in they first said it was the battery (which we all knew it was not) but they put in a new one they said.anyhow as you already know this is an electrical issue that needs to be fixed a.s.a.p..dealer now tells me honda is working on a fix but in the mean time i have had to have the car jumped and paid for this as well it's a major nuisance i want fixed very soon or want my money back and i will buy another car. This has been goin on since i bought this car dec. 28th 2018
Vehicle battery was dead after the suv sat unused for 2 days within 3 weeks and 300 miles of ownership.this has occurred over 6 times in 3000 miles. Battery has been replaced by the battery twice and is now on its third battery. Dealer notes this problemexists on all 2019 crv's delivered to-date and that they do not yet have a solution.
Driver and passenger door freezes and although the doors appear to unlock when parked the doors will not open.evan after 30 minutes of travel time when car has more than ample time to warm itself.also door locks me out even with the fob on my person. The car is stationary in both situations.
Infotainment screen will sometimes just start making beeping noises as if you are pushing buttons, while at the same time the screen goes dark, and or the screen brightness option comes on to the screen. Dealer says its a known problem but i don't see it listed anywhere. Unsafe and very distracting. Not sure if the back-up camera will still work because the system started up again and is now working. Vehicle was in motion and didn't reset until i turned the car off and back on again .
This happened in my driveway, where we have lived for over 25 years.the wiring used for the main harness is made with a soy base product. Not only mice or rats, squirrels and other animals can smell this out and destroy the wiring.i was told that one man has had his main harness replaced 3 times.if a soy based product is being used, then the repairs that will be needed over and over from rodents should be covered under a warranty for wiring for the entire life of the car!!this harness goes to control all of the information that is in the cars computer system. I am an elderly disabled senior on a fixed income.i can not afford to buy this car and then turn around before it is even a year old to have to fork out $1400.00 for a new wiring harness, you knew this would happen, but did not care!!!therefore your product is highly defective!!!i will never buy another honda car and i will definitely promote the problem of the wiring info to inform others not to purchase these vehicles!!!the poor service that you have given customers concerning this is totally wrong!!!!!by doing this they are creating a completely different problem.mice, rats and rodents carry all kinds of diseases and by enticing them with soy based wiring, you are causing another problem that could be much worse for your customers, if they were to be bitten by these rodents!!!!why don't you people think about what would be worse, the environment or dead customers and the lawsuits from that!!!!
American honda motor co., inc. (honda) is recalling certain 2019 model year cr-v vehicles. The metal core of the steering wheel may contain burrs, which can damage the cable reel sub-harness and cause a short-circuit. This can result in inoperative steering wheel-mounted control buttons (including the horn), illumination of the supplemental restraint system (srs) warning indicator, and/or an uncommanded deployment of the drivers airbag. Honda was unwilling to tell me about the safety concerns related to this recall or provide a loaner vehicle.they are not able to fix this issue until the end of august/early september.
Brand new 2019 honda cr-v ex-l: electrical problem,4/10/19 at 200 miles, battery completely dead after 2 days of not driving because computer program error. Honda is aware of problem, but does not instruct the dealer to fix the problem before selling its cars.engine problem at 12 mile and up,bought the car in march,2019, smelled gasoline in engine oil at dipstick, the level was over max mark by 1/4", was told that honda already implemented the solution prior to selling 2019 model to the public. Obviously, it did not solve the problem.dealer was no help, refuse to admit that the oil was over maximum and mixed with gasoline.5-9-19 at 1467 miles, paid to change oil and filter at dealer and started to monitor oil condition and level closely.discovering that the oil level was still over maximum mark by1/4" after returning home and engine was cool.5/13/19 at 1600 miles, drained 1/4 qt. Of oil out to bring the level down to 1/8" below max. Mark. Discovered that the oil had already turned black after less than 200 miles , 4 days after oil change. Saved sample of the black oil for dealer.5/14/19 at 1694 miles, showed sample of newly changed black oil to the dealer service dept. Was told that this dirty oil could be typical of this 1.5 turbo engine. Dealer admit this time from the oil sample that there is gasoline smell mixed in with engine oil. Paid for another oil and filter change myself. Dealer did not offer to do anything except telling me to contact honda engineering.will continue to monitor the oil status, and possibly ask for help from honda usa. Honda is not doing the right thing for the customer since it has known this since 2017 model year.seriously, considering other brand of vehicle in the future.if the new oil and filter can get completely dirty in less than 200 miles, i would be required to change oil every week!
On august 28 i went to start my car and it would not turn on. I called the dealership and they jumped it and the car started. They tested the battery and it was fine but changed it anyway. On december 23 it would not start and had to be jumped. This happened again on december 26 and 27. The car is currently at the dealership. They have said nothing is wrong with the battery or the car even though this has happened to multiple 2019 cr-vs.
My vehicle was rendered unsafe after rats ate through a wiring harness that disabled safety and emissions equipment on my vehicle.the wiring in the honda is allegedly coated with a soy based material that attracts rodents.honda is aware of rodents eating through its cars wiring and offers part number 4019-2317 rodent tape to address this defect after damage has occurred.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v383000 (steering, air bags, communication). Went away for a weekend trip and hadn't driven the car for 3 days. Came back and the battery was totally drained, had to jump start the car. It has roughly 3,300 miles on the odometer. Vehicle was stationary.
The first this happen was when i park and i turn off the carbut the dashboard was still on and then appears most of the signals on and some weird code on the dashboard and is been for months like that and also like 2 months ago start as i was driving all of a sudden seems the car reduce the speedand i press the gas and doesn't do anything
Vehicle was purchased new in 2019. Today is 05apr2021 and the car has been towed twice due to dead battery. Battery had been replaced in jan 2021 and required additional service 3 months later. Daily driver, 60 miles a day. Car was not driven over a 3 day weekend and required tow.
The automatic vehicle braking system applied urgent brakes on its own when no other car was in front, nor was any other obstacle in front of our car.this is a huge concern because, the system applying automatic brakes could have resulted in a collision.
The battery has failed multipile time in the first 18 months of ownership. The first instance at the 4 month mark with about 1000 miles on the car. Then aprox. 6 months later and again 6 months after the second instance. The dealer cannot identify the problem, after the first time they replaced the battery. The second time they said they did a "hard reset" of the ecm. The third time , i don't know yet as they still have the car. The car is 18 months old and has aprox. 8,500 miles on it.
On july 25, 2020, when driving down the interstate, using google maps gps for direction on apple carplay, the display all of a sudden started beeping and flashing different screens. The screen brightness changed as well as the display. Nothing was being touched. This went on for at least 4 minutes until we had to pull over and shut the car off in order to stop the beeping and screen flashing. The passenger has a video of the screen flashing/beeping and proof that no buttons were being touched that we can share. It was extremely distracting and was very dangerous. I believe this incident also re-set the lane keep assist and automatic cruise control notification settings. On wednesday, august 7, 2020, the incident occurred again driving on a different interstate when using apple carplay for google maps gps. The brightness indicator flashes, the screen changes brightness, and changes screens without prompting. There is no way to stop it unless the car is pulled over and turned off.
Our honda crv is a 2019 purchased litlle over 4 months ago 7800 miles to dare. Our problems started 17 days ago with a routine first oil change. At that time were advise of software recall and they said was completed and ok to drive. 6 days later an electrical.or software problem occurred and all 13 icons on dashboard went off while driving. Alarms and warnings on dash as well. Brought back to honda and they rebooted and said found no issue.a daynor so later same issue and brought ba k to honda autofair manchester nh and they ket car 4 daya and worked with honda tech replaced turbo and reset software and said might be related to origiginal software issue recall. A few days late on june 8th while starting a 65 birthday celebration for my wife we heard the loudest shreaking alarm when we went out front to driveway we found it was out xar and air bag had deployed on its own while not moving in driveway. The alarm was ao bad people driving by stop to help. Smoke was pouring from dashboard. Again we call honda and they towed ro honda manchester only again to give us yet another rental. When going back to get phone cord from diaabled car a group of honda ployees surrounded vehicle in dismay. One said to me is that your vehichke i said yes and thwy said your lucky you werent killed if that happened while driving. This ia we we are at 17 days later from first oil change. We are in fear of driving thia car. Honda new about thia problem and has not decided to send out recall till july8 2019. Another month!!! how many lived will be loat or serious injuries because of thisnegligence
Purchased 2019 honda cr-v on february 9, 2019.drove only twice in the first 2 weeks.attempted to drive for the 3rd time (101 miles on odometer) on the 2 week anniversary of buying, february 23, 2019 and the car was completely dead!honda sent tow truck, driver charged battery.took into honda today for inspection, they checked the battery and only the battery and said it was fine, nothing more they could do.i would have liked them to check and see what drained the battery.the car sat from tuesday to saturday, i would expect it to start without an issue. Spoke to sales associate who said that new cars tend to drain the battery if the windshield wipers are left in the on position.i don't know why that would even be a possibility but if that is a fact it should be corrected.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle shook, vibrated, and began to decelerate. Also, the electric parking brake, transmission, brake system, brake hold, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, blind spot information system, and auto high beam system warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 800.
Continual battery failures, batteries go dead if not driven every day.on my second battery and died as two days not being driven. Some sort of parasitic drain?
Honda crv display issues .the display starts flashing on its own and even makes calls sometimes . Also no amount of reset works unless you stop and start the car again . Also after shutting down the car a weird noise keeps on coming from display .this is a new honda cr-v 2019 exl model this is a huge inconvenience and safety issue as we lose navigation in between and it's always not possible to pull the car aside and restart it i do have the video which explains the whole issue but i am not able to upload here
I went into my garage for something and noticed a humming noise coming from the crv which had been parked in there for several hours. I walked around the car but couldn't locate the exact location the noise was coming from. When i opened the drivers door the noise stopped. This has happened only one time that i know of but if its an electrical short it could cause a fire.
2019 honda crv exl. Received recall notification for possible airbag failure due to metal burrs in steering column. Contacted honda mall of georgia. They were aware and referred me to honda corporate. Filed a case and was told they would contact me within 2 days. Case # 09698729. Honda rep asked me to contact other dealerships in area for warranty repair. Parts not available. Contacted honda mall of georgia again. Waiting for service manager to contact us. Honda should cover a rental because of the airbag safety and lack of parts. We need the vehicle to be safe or an alternate provided.
After leaving vehicle in garage for 24 hours or more, then attempting to start the vehicle, vehicle will not start. After using battery jump, vehicle will start and run as normal. This has happened several times over the past few months, even when vehicle is run for couple miles or more.
Left car parked for 5 days. Nothing left on but battery was drained. Needed to call a tow truck for a jump start. When vehicle came back on, alarm sounded and all safety systems were off-line. Slowly they came back online again. Only 1,600 miles on it. Also, lock and unlock not consistently working on vehicle. Also noted radar for front and back collision does not work in snow and rain (see picture).
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While operating the vehicle, various warning indicators suddenly displayed, including "brake system failure", "road departure mitigation system problem", and "collision mitigation system problem". Also, the vehicle would not immediately stop when depressing the brake pedal. After turning the engine off and back on, the vehicle resumed normal operation; however, the failure later recurred. The vehicle was taken to baron honda (17 medford ave, patchogue, ny) where an unknown module was replaced, but the failure continued. The vehicle taken back to the dealer where it was determined that the electronic brake booster needed to be replaced. The manufacturer provided case number: 101365007. The failure mileage was 3,900.
The sunroof and all the windows opened on their own during the night. This is the third time this has occurred, luckily the vehicle was parked in the garage each time. I blew it off the first two times thinking i must have hit something on the remote, but i see this has happened to someone else. I have a silicone cover over the remote now so i don't think i am causing this. I always close all the windows and turn off all accessories before turning off the vehicle so this gets easily noticed.this could be a real problem if it happened outdoors with inclement weather or if packages were left in an otherwise locked vehicle.
Car 2 months old, have only put 1300 miles on it, let it sit for 5 days, and battery totally dead!nothing was left on, had to jump car and alarm came on along with all sorts of warnings, called dealer who talked me through resetting radio, ect, and informed there is a recall, made appointment,i can't find any active recall.also radar brake warning systems fail repeatedly in rain and snow.
Starting at about 7months vehicles battery died and unable to start leaving me stranded. Dealer replaced battery. Condition returned 2 more times over the next year. Dealer did a software update serivice bullentin sb19-039. Did not fix the problem. Failed again. Feb 2021, dealer replaced battery again. Honda feild technical specialist sent sprficily to diaganose vehicle claimed no problems found. As of 4/23/21 curently in lemon law suit with honda america over this issue.
Brand new vehicle with barely 450 miles turned off out of nowhere. All possible dashboard faults were displayed and car wouldn't start. Brakes got locked at some point and couldn't push car away from road. Many customers have already encountered this issue and honda is aware but claims that they dont have any bulletins or recalls. It is a safety issue to be driving this car. Car has been at the dealership for 3 days now and mechanics/technicians can not find the problem. Honda dealership where vehicle was purchased shows lack of interest on helping me.honda dealership where car was taken keeps working on the issue. Vehicle wont start. Three days at the dealership now.
The battery is repeatedly dead after a day or so if not driven. The dealer says a draw of 0.500 amp was found from the evaporation detection module and there needs to be a software update to fix it. They cannot give me any timeline for this update other than to say "they are working on it".in the meantime, anytime i do not drive the car for a day or two, i need to get a "jump" to get it started.
Rodent ate through soy based wire insulation causing short circuit and failure of all safety system devices.this happened after starting the vehicle but could have occurred during operation.
The suv would not start after not being driven for 2 days. Roadside assistance was called and they tested the battery and it was fully charged, but the suv wouldn't start. The suv was jump started and the alarm started going off and the head unit had to be restarted.
I have had this car 4 months and we bought it new. Twice the infotainment system has gone crazy as we were driving. It began to flicker and panel kept flashing lines and format wording while making beeping noises. Also 3 times the automatic braking system has tried to stop the car for no reason, one nearly causing the car behind us to rear end us.
I am having an issue with automatic high beam'it stays on with on coming traffic or when following behind the vehicle, it basically does not turn off when it should.sometimes, it would not turn on when it should.i have it all on video, but the dealer states since they can't duplicate it, they can't fix it even when shown the video of the issue.it is illegal to drive with high beam on with on coming traffic (although i can turn the feature off), it is still very frustrating that they refuse to address the safety issue due to the intermittent nature of the problem.
Windows and sun roof open by themselves. This has happened 3-4 times over the last 6 months. If it happens in the garage is one thing, but if the vehicle is outside during a rain storm or in a parking lot somewhere unattended this occurrence could result in damage or theft. This happens at night when vehicle is unattended parked.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the audible indicator of the blind spot system was not loud enough to hear. The contact took the vehicle to pearson honda (14001 hull street rd, midlothian, va 23112, (804) 745-0300) and asked them to increase the volume; however, the dealer stated that they could not change the volume. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 232.consumer stated after further examination i believe the volume is appropriate.
Battery dies overnight. Car has only 1000 miles and i've had to jump it 3 times plan to call dealer for warranty work, but i see from other postings that this is an unresolved issue for honda. Calling them anyway. A new car should not behave this way.
Battery is draining out after sitting for 3 days in a parking lot, and will not start up again without a jump. Battery tests are coming back as fine.
I am having the same problem the honda pilot is having, my infotainment/radio has not worked since i bought the car on march 1st. It does not connect to apple car play and the screen suddenly just goes black. It plays pandora sporadically but never works consistently.
Leased crv-9/30/2019--from the day i picked it up it has had computer issues, they had to give me a loaner..multiple lights came on dash. Also several times i have come out to car & windows & sunroof opened. 6mo ago 6/2/2020 car back at dealer for a week..computer issues again, all warning lights on and parking brake set on its own..for the 2nd time they replaced a vsa modulator also came out to car after work 10 degrees outside..windows & sunroof opened. This car only has 8,000 miles on it & when not at wk its in the garage. Ive had several hondas & very unhappy with this lease due to 20 more payments & unable to get out of the lease. When driving 6/2020 i was moving at 50 mph ..car shook & all warning lights came on..took a week to get appointment at dealer & lights did not go off dashboard
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start without warning. The vehicle was towed to thomas team honda (814-262-2140, located at 1920 bedford st, johnstown, pa 15904) where the technician stated that the vehicle needed to be driven everyday to keep the battery charged. The technician also stated that the contact may need to get a battery tender. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that a case worker would be assigned. The contact did not hear from a case worker. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
Milage at service 19,338. Tpms alert came on. Check air in all tires, rear tire had metal in the inner sidewall.replaced one tire and balanced. Returning home milage 19,388. Tpms alert came on after hard reset by dealer. Returned to dealer. Milage 19,424 informed by service manager all four tires needed to be replaced to correct computer tpms. Really, computer can't calculate tire tread reset on one or two tires? had to return to dealer after tpms light came on driving home. Returned to dealer. Milage 19454. Hard reset again by dealer. I've never seen this on the internet for 2019 honda crv all wheel drive. Any help with this safety issue for tpms?
When i got in my car at walmart and started the engine all the sudden the brake system warnings come on the dash and also i could night shift the gears. I was not able to move the car at all and had to call a wrecker to come tow the car to the dealer. The dealer told me they had no idea what was wrong for most of the day. They then called me and asked me did i normally hang my handicap placard on the rearview mirror. I said yes that's where we normally hang out and remove it before we drive it every time. They told me that the handicap placard had damaged the cable on the back of the mirror and had caused the brake system to completely fail and that it was not a warranty problem. I had to pay $922 to get the car fixed. The wiring harness in the roof of the car had to be replaced. We were not even aware that cable was behind the mirror. The problem could've happened at any point while i was driving the car and i would have lost all the braking system for the car if it had happened while driving. I believe this is an issue that needs to be taken up with honda and other car makers and have a recall to fix the problem so the handicap placard will not destroy the cable.
My 2019 honda cr-v's battery dies after sitting in my garage for two days.it has only 320 miles on it.
While driving on a highway the infotainmentcenter suddenly began beeping and turning on and off repeatedly.the brightness control began to beep and turn to a higher setting and then a lower one.no one was touching the screens/controls.i videoed this.earlier in the monthwhile i was driving and the tire pressure monitor said tires were low but when i measured them, they were not so while the car was stationary, i checked and the message was still there..before that i had error messages that came on when i parked the car. I got messages about lane keep assist problem , adaptive cruise control problem, and collision mitigation system problem and was told something outside the vehicle caused them to go off and it was ok because when i restarted the car they were reset.i am not very savvy about uploading files from my phone to a web site but could email them to an address if you have one to provide.
We have had the car a year and 4 months and we bought it new. Twice the infotainment system has as gone haywire as we were driving. It began to flicker and the brightness control kept flashing and making beeping noises. Also 4 times the automatic braking system has tried to stop the car for no reason.
If the car sits for 2-3 days without running the battery drains and dies completely.we have been told thatit is related to an evac test that is performed 5 hours after the car is shut off.apparently honda is aware and is working on a software upgrade.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v383000 (steering, air bags, communications). The contact called millennium honda at 516-481-2800 (located at 286 n franklin st, hempstead, ny 11550) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Battery is draining out after sitting for 3 days in a parking lot, and will not start up again without a jump. Battery tests are coming back as fine.
Our 2019 honda crv was purchased in december of 2019.the battery had died 3 times and had to be recharged by the dealer.the honda dealer refused to replace the battery and could tell us why the battery keeps dying. The car is driven every day and the lights are always turned off automatically at night after driving.please investigate the problem as we have found out on the internet that other people are having the same problem with their 2019 honda crv.
Windows and sunroof open on their own. Vehicle parked for 2 days in driveway. In middle of night, all windows and sunroof opened during a rainstorm. This is the second occurrence of this issue. First time sep'19, second time 4/28 or 4/29 2020. Customer case 09867240 with american honda. They say this is a "feature" that requires pushing buttons on key fob remote in specific order. No buttons were pushed either time. Sep'19 key fob was in pocket. Second occurrence occurred middle of the night while i was sleeping. One fob hanging on hook near back door. Other on my dresser next to my wallet. No possible way buttons could have been pushed in middle of night. Am honda solution is to get a hardcase for the remote to be sure buttons are not pushed by mistake. Dealer says same thing. Internet postings show this has been happening on many different honda models for many years and they refuse to take responsibility for the problem.am honda also says that the "feature" can't be disabled. My point...if they programmed it into the system, they should be able to program in a "switch" that can be accessed through the control screen. Dealer (williams honda, traverse city mi) also indicates it is a known problem and they have no way to disable it either, even with their service diagnostic tools.it rained here last night. My car is soaked. The response from american honda is that i did not have a hard case for my key fob. Even though i was asleep and the fobs were not moved in the middle of the night.
On saturday, february 16, 2019 while driving on a clear afternoon, we went onto the entry ramp for the highway to rt 95 s. Theramp was not straight and had curves. When an attempt was made to apply the brakes to slow for the first curve, they did not respond as they should, they pulsed and locked. At the same time, the digital dash began displaying multiple warnings of systems not functioning including brake, emergency brake, transmission, power steering, tire pressure, lane assist, cruise control, hill assist,, etc. With difficulty we were able to pull onto the grass shoulder of the highway, there was not a breakdown lane in view. We tried shutting the car off and restarting, and the warnings persisted.i contacted honda assistance and they sent a tow truck. The tow driver stated he had difficulty loading the car because of the brakes being locked. At the honda dealership, they also could not release the brakes to off load the car.
Car idling, outside air temperature not registering. Dealer found "codes b1227 open in the outside air temperature sensor, c0051-54 steering angle sensor learning incomplete, other areas harnesses damaged insulation and tubing, ...".entire main electrical harness had to be replaced. If i had been on the road, could a safety feature have been compromised? problem attributed to rodent damage, yet car was parked in the same place as a 2013 honda accord, which i traded in to get the subject vehicle, for six years. This new vehicle is 11 months old and has 2695 miles on it. The dealer did not consider this as a design defect.
We were driving a crv which is less than 6 months old. All of a sudden all safety systems failed. The breaks system, colliosion avoidence, lane assist, acc. All failed. Fortunately we were at 20 mph so we were able to safely stop the crv. We towed the crv to the dealership and they after 4 days were able to figure out that all the safety systems had failed as there was an electrical shortcurcuit which has blown the fuses and the control system.the cause of the electrical short was traced to exopsed wires in the rear view mirror assmebly which were damaged by an ornamnet we had hung.the reason i am complaining is i want to bring it to your attention of this manufacturing defect.1.lot of people hang ornamnets/ car freshner etc and this defect can cause a very serious system failure with all safety systems failing when the crv is in motion.2.this crv is less than 6 m old so it also indicates to the poor designand manufacture .3. Crv is one of the most popular suvs sold in usa so lot of people are at risk.4. The design engineer knew the importance of these wires so have a protective rubber insulation but the insulation leaves a gap where the wires are exposed, and can be damaged.i have dramatic video showing this incident when we were drving and the exposed wires, the short cricuit damage and theornament that they are blaming for this incident. I have the video that i could not load in this complain as the sytem would not allow itto be loaded ,but i would be pleased to share if needed.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. After turning the vehicle off, the battery drained and the vehicle could not be restarted. The vehicle was towed to middletown honda (520 rt. 211e, middletown, ny) where the battery was replaced, but the failure continued. The contact was informed that the failure was caused by an epa module inside the vehicle, but no repair was available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 100.
I have 260 miles and my car started to flash like christmas tree all the dash-board warning lights and engine was shaking. Lost traction and it's a awd and it was turning off every block. I was driving in the street. It was also smelling so bad worse then burning.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated that there was a software issue that was causing the battery not to charge and was draining the battery. The vehicle was parked at an airport and would not start upon the contact's return from a five day trip. The contact had to jumpstart the vehicle. East coast honda (8756a us highway 17, bypass south, myrtle beach, sc 29588, (843) 492-5175) was contacted and stated that they were aware of the issue. The manufacturer stated that there were not enough complaints to issue a recall. The manufacturer suggested that the contact unhook the battery if the vehicle remained parked more than a day. The contact planned to take the vehicle for diagnostic testing on august 30, 2019. The failure mileage was 1,900.
Vehicle keeps gaining oil level from burned fuel even though the dealer installed the software update. I live in the south so the cold weather is not the issue. I am an industrial mechanic for 47 years and do my own maintenance so i know what the correct level is. The dealer says there is no fix but diluted fuel leads to damage and if severe, can cause engine failure and accident. The image posted is about 7k miles on oil change and the level is above the level marker pad.the second issue is the electronic display fails to function which allows access to vehicle information and control access. The dealer replaced the unit but this issue goes back to 2016 and so far, do not know if the replacement will solve the issue since it was replaced with a remanufactured part, not new. The dealer replaced the unit really not telling honda the truth about the failure type, they said it was sound system issue when they knew for a fact there was none as i gave them a video and a letter describing the issue. One part is 1000 dollars and the other 1800 dollars, a stiff cost when warranty runs out. Their fix is an extended warranty at a couple of hundred a month. A win win for them and a loss to the consumer. The failure was sporatic and happened driving or parked.the failure date is just for the electronic part but oil issue has been from the beginning.

The car was running perfectly fine we were going to load some things into the trunk my wife was backing up and the car began to shake. All the sensors were in error: power steering, brakes system, high beams, tire pressure, tpms, engine light and some other sensor. The emergency brake was activated and we were unable to remove it, the brake light was flashing on the dashboard. The vehicle turned off and wouldnā€™t turn on. The vehicle had its battery checked andwas fine. The vehicle has been taken to a honda dealership for diagnostic testing.
At 28,230 miles the car began having difficulty turning the engine over during start-up. The dash lights flicker, the brake pedal kicks back at the driver, and it struggles to start, taking 3-4 turns before the engine starts. This happens when the car is parked, and is in the off position. Anywhere from a cold start. Subsequent (immediate) turn offs and turn one are easier.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the battery became drained on two separate occasions. The vehicle was towed to braman honda of palm beach located at 5200 lake worth rd, greenacres, fl 33463, where the battery was replaced. The failure recurred after two weeks and a road side assistance was called and recharged the battery. The contact was informed by the roadside service technician that if the vehicle was not driven up to 20 miles per day, the battery would be drained. The technician stated that the failure was common with the make and model and that the dealer would not disclose that information. The contact called the same dealer who confirmed the information and told the contact to buy a jumper cable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8,900.
2019 honda cr-v. Consumer writes in regards to issues with battery life. *ldthe consumer stated the battery dies within 2 days of shutting the vehicle down, if not driven again. The emissions system drains the battery. There is no repair available for the failure.

Mitigation warning came on multiple times when i was driving in rainstorm on turnpike and made comment that collision warnings not availabledealership told me that i need to turn system off when it rains or snowsthis doesn't make sense to me as this system is for safetythe never occurred with my previous crv
I have 2019 crv and i recently brought to dealerships for radar sensor replacement due to intermittent. About a month later now it picks up signals or objects then automatically brakes even with nothing in front of the car (ie. No obstacles in front of the car or objects). A person behind me honked the horn and about to hitting me from behind. I just talked to honda dealerships and they have no idea how to correct the problem. This has occurred about 3 or more times now.
We were driving a crv which is less than 6 months old. All of a sudden all safety systems failed. The breaks system, colliosion avoidence, lane assist, acc. All failed.
Car display unit is overwhelmed with warning lights that stated the collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, and adaptive cruise control all have problems. It happens frequently when starting the vehicle and also while in motion.
On february 29, 2020, i was pulling into a parking spot at a nearby park at a low rate of speed. I began to apply the brake to stop the car.as i applied the brake, the car rapidly accelerated with smoke coming out of the steering column.i continued to put my foot on the brake to stop the car, but it continued to accelerate.i steered the car away from a small lake but smashed into a pine tree.the airbags deployed and the seatbelt worked.i received trauma to the chest by the airbag.i was taken to the hospital for evaluation and then released the next day.the state trooper confirmed that the engine was revving when he restarted it. This honda crv received a recall notice in july, 2019 concerning a problem with the wiring harness and steering column.the parts did not come until september, 2019 and i then brought the car in for the repair.the parts were replaced. Five months later the accident occurred with only 6,800 miles on the car. I went to speak with the manager at the honda dealership about the incident and his attitude was polite but totally indifferent.he indicated that the dealership only sells cars, but he did not take responsibility that the dealership also did the repair on this recall.i left there with no satisfaction at all.the honda crv 2019 is currently under investigation as to the cause of the acceleration problem. This was my first honda and my last.
Vehicle has a demonstrable problem with the engine oil being diluted with fuel that causes the oil to be thinned out to a point where it is no longer in spec for the viscosity. The oil level in the crankcase rises and causes a check engine light to be illuminated and also causes a strong fuel smell to be present in the cabin.this is an ongoing problem that has been reported to both honda dealers as well as honda usa and they have chosen to take no action.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to honda of joliet (3225 plainfield rd, joliet, il 60431, (815) 439-2222) where the spark plugs and oil were changed. After the repair, the vehicle was started and backfired. Black smoke appeared from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 100,000.
I have 260 miles and my car started to flash like christmas tree all the dash-board warning lights and engine was shaking. Lost traction and it's a awd and it was turning off every block. I was driving in the street. It was also smelling so bad worse then burning.
Engine oil dilution
This is a reproducible software glitch that can be consistently triggered by bringing the car to a stop on a slippery surface, and then flooring the gas pedal to spin the wheels with the transmission in 'd'. After the wheels have spun, the transmission shifts erratically while driving until the car is restarted
Smell gasoline from engine oil upon inspection from dipstick.i have just bought this car a month ago.
I just had a high car accident and my airbag did not deploy but the other car did. My car is a total.
Developed oil dilution problem, to the point where it damaged my spark plugs and the engine had trouble running, had to be towed to dealership. Cause smoking under the hood and shakiness in the middle of driving, wheel locked up and i couldn't steer, all warning lights came on the dash together, not safe at all.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 19v383000 (steering, air bags, communications) and 19v039000 (engine and engine cooling). The parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called hennessy honda of woodstock (8931 ga-92, woodstock, ga 30189, (770) 924-9000) and was informed that parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
2019 honda crv. I have noticed that my oil has an amount of gas over 5% twice by analysis. I am worried about the problem of oil dilution that honda crv's (model year 2017 & 2018) have had. I fear that i will have premature engine damage and more important loss of power or stalling on the highway as the 1.5 liter direct injection honda crv engines have experienced.
Gasoline is getting into the oil. Just as it has been reported in the 2017 and 18 models, 1.5 liter turbo charged engine. I have heard that the 2020 model has the gasoline oil dilution problem also. This issue was identified on the first oil change. We were askingby the dealer to get the oil level checked every 1000 miles, we just had that happen and the oil level was recorded as slightly high. It smells of gasoline. The dealer told us honda is working on a solution. In the meantime our engine is making metal and it's life is getting shorter and shorter. Lack of lubrication.purchased cr-v new 9/4/19, last oil level check was 4/30/20.
There is a strong gasoline smell in the cabin immediately after starting the vehicle.the smell is strongest when the engine has already been warmed up.i have taken the cr-v in to the dealer twice and they have not been able to resolve the issue.
Intermittent raw gas fumes inside cabin of 2019 honda cr-v. Raw gas smell present while vehicle is parked, moving on city streets and on the highway. Dealer was unable to replicate the problem. Dealer conducted an evap function test. The vehicle passed.
The engine is getting gas in the oil. I have taken oil samples that show greater than 5% gas in the engine with lower than minimum oil viscosity. I have taken it to the dealer who changed the oil. Less than 1000 miles later, the problem is back. The engine hesitates randomly especially when slowing down. I've taken the vehicle to two different dealers with the same "there's nothing we can do". I asked them if they could pull the injectors and check to see if one is faulty and was told "it's direct injection, the injectors cannot be pulled", which of course is false. The last mechanic told me that unless the oil level is more than 1.5 inches above the add mark, there was no chance of damage to the engine. I estimate that at that level, there would be 30% gas in oil. The company stated that the problem for the 1.5 turbo engine in the 2019 cr-v was solved. I don't believe it has been solved based on my and others experience.
I hit a large deer on the interstate highway at a speed of 60 to 65 mph. There was considerable damage to the front of the car. I have pictures. The airbags did not deploy. There were 2 people in the car, no one was hurt.
I was driving 20 or 35 mph when the engine stoppedunexpectedly.also the steering wheel was stiffed.it simply shut down.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the vehicle hesitated with multiple unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to exceed 12 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed. The vehicle was towed to ryan honda (1212 2nd st w, williston, nd 58801), where the contact was informed of gasoline and oil mixture in the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 976.
2019 honda crv ex. Engine oil getting into the oil. Oil dipstick way above the allowed maximum mark. Just bought it in september 2019 and has only 4,600 miles. Oil gauge shows 40% left before next change. Dealer told me not to bring it until it gets to 15% and that there is no danger driving it.
After buying this new car i noticed twice gas smell while driving i checked the engine oil it smells gas i took it to the dealer he said the oil has gas in it and advised me to watch the level and the smell, bring it back if engine light turn on or smell strong smell of gas again.the is unsafe to drive since gas leaks to the oilthat can cause car to install when oil level gets too high. Also gas smell makes driver and passengers dizzy and increases chance of accident honda is very lazy to act since this is 3rd generation of crv ex with turbo engine. Honda said that this can happen in very cold weather and with frequent short driving i'm living in georgia , no extreme cold and i drive mostly about 15 miles trips this car is defected as many crv cars with turbo engine
Gasoline leaking into the engine lubricating oil. When i bought the car the dealer assured me that honda had taken care of the problem. I feel that a recall is justified since this will certainly lead to shorter engine life and could possibly lead to an engine fire. I noticed the problem after checking the oil after a trip of 500 miles.
When starting the vehicle, a strong gasoline smell is present in the cabin.after checking online, checked the engine oil and there was a gasoline smell on the dipstick.the engine oil was above the full line due to the gasoline leaking into the oil compartment.
2019 honda crv-oil dilution causing oil level to rise-caused car to go into "limp mode". Invoice attached. I have a 2019 honda crv with only 3196 miles on it. On 1/24/20, i was in the passing lane of a busy highway when the car suddenly lost acceleration!i put the gas pedal to the floor and nothing!there were cars all around me and it was absolutely terrifying.i and everyone driving around me were lucky, as it could easily have been a large pile up on the highway with catastrophic repercussions. The car was towed to the dealer where it was determined that the issue was caused by "oil dilution causing elevated oil level"..."fouled plugs and misfire codes"..."oil very thin very dark and smelled".this is the same issue that occurred in prior years crvs! the honda tech line didn't have a fix for 2019s yet so advised the dealer to change my oil and replace the spark plugs.i am terrified to drive this car and am stuck in a lease for 2 1/2 more years.i called honda corporation and they wouldn't give me any information on what they were doing for this, except to tell me that no notice is ever sent to owners of a car until a fix is found. That isfrightening.i can't believe they can continue to sell them while this dangerous situation exists.
Motor oil smells like gasoline after only 139 miles. Honda changed oil and gasoline smell in oil returned after only 50 miles. Car driven under normal circumstances.
Fuel is diluting engine oil. You smell gas in garage and hear the vacuum pump running that is in the pollution control system. Highest oil level has been 6.5 quarts drained out of engine. Right now it took 200 miles to increase oil levela half inch on drip stick. Cr-v purchased 4-9-19. Took in first in 8-27-19 for vacuum pump running on and off while vehicle was parked in garage. Dealer had no idea where the sound was coming from and sent us home. Continues today.
Problem:fuel getting into oil transfer case and contaminating/diluting the oil.we purchased a 2019 honda cr-v ex-l on 10/31/19.i had done some research on this problem since it had been reported with the 2017-2018 models with the same 1.5 turbo engine.i brought it to the dealer's attention before we bought the car and we were told that honda had "fixed the problem and that our vehicle had the fix".we were planning a trip to dallas, tx on 02/22/20 and planed to drive there from our home in duluth, mn.in preparing for the trip, i checked the engine oil and found that the oil level was 1/2" above the full mark on the dipstick, and the oil was dark and smelled strongly of gasoline.the car had 2407 miles on it at this time and obviously honda had not fixed the problem.i took the car to the dealer on 02/21/20 where i purchased the car and had them check the oil.they observed the same issues that i am reporting.they stated that honda knows about this problem but has not yet issued a recall. But they also stated that honda was not providing any explanation or remedy other than to change the oil at the owner's expense.my dealership, to their credit, agreed to change the oil and filter at no charge to me.the service manager also explained why the issue is occurring and acknowledged that honda may yet be forced to issue a recall.honda has already offered an extended warranty for the 2017-18 models as the result of a class action suit, but nothing is being done for the 2019 or 2020 models that have the same engine and same problem.i am concerned about premature engine wear, damage, or potential of fire or explosion.dealer repair #122992, krenzen honda duluth, mn.
2019 honda cr-v on my 2nd. Oil change there was gas in the oil at 8250 miles.i will and was told from dealer to drive it 500 miles and bring it in as i just had oil change done. I will also keep checking the oil level and bring it in to dealer for next oil change or if i see oil level rising.
Gas is in the engine oil.as a result of this, there is a gas smell in the cabin as well.
The first this happen was when i park and i turn off the carbut the dashboard was still on and then appears most of the signals on and some weird code on the dashboard and is been for months like that and also like 2 months ago start as i was driving all of a sudden seems the car reduce the speedand i press the gas and doesn't do anything
The 2019 honda cr-v touring vehicle has experienced gasoline contamination of the engine oil due to an issue with the engine design.the abnormal levels of gasoline contaminates has been validated through a third-party lab test.the degradation of the lubricating properties of the engine oil results in engine performance and in-cabin air quality issues.the vehicle has been taken into the manufacturer's service department, however, they have indicated that there is no fix for this issue at this time unless you live in specific states where the fix is being offered.this is a known international issue with this vehicle type and honda has acknowledged that this is a problem.some reports indicate that consumers have experienced severe vehicle performance issues (i.e., stalling) as well as health related issues due to super strong gasoline odors in the cabin of the vehicle.the reduced lubrication quality of the engine oil due to the engine design issue has long-term performance indications.
Gasoline in oil(oil dilution).
Extensive white smoke out of exhaust pipe when stopped at city traffic light. Burnt oil smell. Could not accelerate above 23 miles per hour in traffic. Every system failure message displayed. Purchase crv new from honda dealer in march, 2018. Has 2,634 miles on it. Had been start/stop driving for about 2 hours in local city traffic running errands.
Excess oil fuel in engine brought to dealer they said no problem only in cold states i live in california. Had to pay to change oil even thou manual says do not over fill the same dealer had changed oil before and did not overfill.
Oil level is high, strong smell of gas in the oil. Took it to dealer, who changed the oil, said there was nothing wrong. A few miles later i have the same issue. The oil is being diluted with gas. Currently the car runs. Honda is not addressing this isue.
Honda oil dilution - driving the car on the interstate and the engine light came on and the engine shut off.pulled over and restarted the car.drove 2 miles and engine shut off again.pulled over started car drove 100 ft and engine shut off and everything including wheels locked up.car taken to honda dealer and they state that the engine running on 3 cylinders because spark plug fowled up.replaced spark plug.picked up the car drove it 300 miles and engine stuttered, did not shut off and blue smoke plumes came out of exhaust.shut the car off and blue smoke went away, did not drive the car for one week.drove car 100 miles on interstate, engine light comes on and engine shuts off.pull over. Restart the engine and was able to drive 50 miles to the same honda delear for the first time repair.mechanic tells me that the oil case was 1/2 quart too much.sound like oil dilution issue.
I have purchased honda crv 2019 0n 02/18/2019. Initially the car performance was awesome. My first visit at first texas honda on 10/04/2019, to fix tyre puncher. When primary technician reminded me about security recalls then i asked to fix all the 3 recalls (1. 2019 cr-v fi-ecu self shutdown software product update, 2.2019 cr-v steering wheel controls & srs sub-wire satefy recall, 3. 2019 cr-v incorrect owner's guide non-compliance recall)second visit at the same dealer on 10/17/2019 to explain all the issues i was facing after security recalls. The reported issues are high engine noise, sluggish acceleration, steering wheel tight and brake pedal feels very low while applying brake.honda dealers did not accept the main issue while is high engine noise and sluggish acceleration. They simply deny saying no alerts showing on the dashboard. Raised support cases (given below) with american honda and i feel i did not get right support because american honda says we value our customers but they say our authorized dealer should check and confirm on the car issue. But dealers not agree to the issues, simply denying the issues.american honda support case numbers: 1) 09952327 during oct 2019. 2) 10214175 during feb 2020. 3) 202888213 during december 2020 but the issues were not resolved.as a third party review, i approached firestone, austin for inspection they did a test ride and confirmed with a report on the issues sluggish acceleration and steering hardness. But american honda denied firestone inspection report as they believe only authorized dealer, who are not acknowledging the issues. If any person who drive new honda cr-v and try my car they agree in first attempt that engine noise is high and the car speed pick-up is very poor. I need help from nhtsa asap bcoz my new cr-v which is still in warranty but no-body accepts the car engine issue to fix it.
Strong gas smell coming from the engine oil. Car has only less than 220 miles on the engine.
Strong gasoline fumes were noted in the vehicle interior at about 2,000 miles.the issue seemed to present itself when restarting after relatively short trips.issue was reported to a local dealership at approximately 3,000 miles. I was told that this had been an issue with 2017/2018 models, that the issue had been resolved and did not apply to 2019 models.this was contrary to what i was experiencing, so i researched and determined that this does in fact appear to be an issue with the 2019 model.when pulling the dipstick to check the oil, it smelled as if i had dipped the stick in a can of gasoline, not oil.i reported the issue to a second dealership, the dealership from which the vehicle was purchased.the individual checking the car in, agreed that upon starting the car for the test drive, the cabin smelled strongly of gasoline and that they would check it out.after the vehicle was checked-out by a mechanic, they said that it was ready to pick up and that nothing was found.i inquired as to gasoline smell noted upon check-in.they indicatedthat the comment made could not be considered as the person checking the vehicle in and going for a test drive was not a licensed mechanic.i was told that i needed to take the matter up with honda america as there was nothing they could do.it was suggested that if the issue is associated with engine design, there was nothing they could do, that i would need to appeal to honda america to have an engineer check my car out, that if they were to call, honda would not send an engineer.in the meantime, i have a $30,000, purchased vehicle that i am not able to give back tohonda at the end of a short lease.i am also being exposed to gasoline fumes on a regular basis.i was knowingly sold a defective vehicle with an engine that will not last for the 10+ years that i planned to drive it in retirement.
The issue was discovered when doing an oil level check. After seeing a problem i changed the oil and filter. The dealer had put 3.8 qts. In, but 5.0 qts. Came out. The old oil was very dirty and very thin. The issue = fuel leaking into the engine oil of honda's 1.5 turbo engine, installed into the 2019 honda cr-v. This appears to be the same problem as with the 2017 & 2018 models. Honda reported that their fix (apparently a software change) would be applied to the 2019 model. The fix does not seem to have worked. I do have a case number from american honda motor co.
On 2/7/2020 i was operating my crv, made a left turn into driveway of tavern/restaurant, 1080 e. Philadelphia ave., gilbertsville, pa. 19525 and pulled into the first parking space about 10 feet from street. I slowed down to almost a stop approx. 2 feet from concrete parking block, my foot was on the brake and engine accelerated very high causing the vehicle to jump the parking block and striking the restaurant wall. Approx. 8 feet from parking block. My wife asked me what i was doing and i pointed to my right foot on the brake. No one was hurt and very minimal damage to wall. There was a police report to douglas twp. Pd. I spoke to piazza honda dealership where vehicle was towed to and manager said that i most likely had my foot half on brake and half on gas pedal. I also gave same story to allstate insurance. I requested that hey check the black box in vehicle and both said they could not. My vehicle was repaired after $9.000.00 estimate was written. I was so afraid to drive the vehicle again and i traded it in to piazza honda without leaving their business after it was repaired. I have been driving for 60 years and never had my foot half on brake a nd half on gas pedal. The brake and gas pedal are separated by at least 3 inches. If it was on both pedals, i am sure the brakes would have screeched. The vehicle was in the shop at piazza honda 4 days prior to the accident for pa. Vehicle inspection and during the exam they told me that the left front strut was leaking and they installed a new one. The vehicle was only 8 months old with 11,000 miles on it..
We were driving on a straight section of road at 80mph on i-24 e when the engine light came on and we lost power to the wheels but the engine was still running. There was no jerking motion or any sign of trouble when this happened. We had to coast in heavy traffic with semi-trucks all around us to get to theright hand shoulder for a safe place. Honda's reply to the dealer was to change the oil out if there was gas in the oil. There was gas in the oil when the dealer checked so they replaced the oil. No other fix was suggested by honda to the dealer even though this problem was supposed to be fixed for the 2019 models as it had initiated field repairs for the 2017 & 2018 models. The fix was supposed to be implemented at the assembly plants before the 2019 models were sold.
We leased this 2019 honda cr-v 6/17/2019. Had made a trip back to arizona parked car 15 minutes later came out to go home to son in laws car wouldn't turn over. Seem like it was flooded and couldn't start car. Towed car to dealer in the morning went to find out the problems. They couldn't determine any diagnostic problems. So we drove back to california. We both lost day work and pay. That morning i went to the store to get some things and had encountered the same problems car wouldn't start and smell of gas.as like car was vapor-locking. Had to have aaa come and tow suv to dealer where we got it. They had it a week and couldn't find any problems. Al these times vehicle was stationary in parking lot.
Oil dilution.dip-stick was reading high after recent oil change at dealership.dip-stick had strong odor of gasoline.honda remedy was another oil change. Filed complaint with honda, case #10193498 and with dealership i purchased from. I may need to hire a lawyer

Driving in the early morning while it was still dark outside, i was following another car about 5 car lengths back and the automatic high beams came on. The person in the car ahead became annoyed and slammed on his brakes and proceeded to drive 5 mph until i tuned off the road. I turned off the car and headlights to reset the system. The automatic high beam system is supposed to recognize a car in front of you or oncoming headlights and automatically turn off the high beams. I brought the car to advantage honda in manhasset, ny. They said they checked the system and it's working properly
Purchased 4 weeks ago & while driving in the rain moisture intrudes into driver side headlight causing severe fogging which reduces visibility at night. The headlight doesn't carry sufficient illumination thru the fogging to safely see forward coming traffic or road obstructions. Dealer said it was "normal" & did nothing.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While the contact was driving approximately 45 mph, another vehicle pausing on the passenger side of the contact's vehicle caused the automatic braking system to activate. As a result, the contact's vehicle independently and abruptly stopped. The contact stated that the failure recurred four times. The vehicle was taken to first team honda (located at 3444 western branch blvd, chesapeake, va 23321, (757) 337-6597) where it was diagnosed that the forward collision avoidance sensor lens was contaminated with road debris. The lens was cleaned and the vehicle was returned to the contact. The contact stated that the failure recurred within thirty minutes. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 09924572. The approximate failure mileage was 7,200.
When on interstate in middle or left lane and passing car in lane to the right, with no car ahead in sensor distance, brakes can suddenly be applied. I contacted hondausa and was referred to dealer, which was coggin honda, st augustine, fl. Vehicle inspected, spoke to mechanic, who said he is hesitant to adjust forward sensor cone on vehicle. For safety reasons, i now travel on interstatesusing traditional cruise control. I do not want to be rear ended if a vehicle behind is tailgating and my brakes are suddenly applied. I cannot always get out of the way of a tailgater.the sudden application of brakes has happened several times, not only the date listed and always on a limited access road. I rarely use cruise control except on a limited access road. Control.
I was driving on the freeway at 60 mph. Traffic was flowing. Suddenly, with nothing in front of me, the car applies the break and i came down immediately to 30 mph. It was terrifying and luckily no one slammed into me.

While cruise control on, car slams on it's brakes for no reason. So it will go from 55 mph to 15 mph without warning. Clear roads, no other cars on right, left, front, behind me. This has happened many times. I have gone to two dealerships: 1-29-21, 6-27-19, etc. They had it overnight & couldn't find anything. I read online, this has happened to others. I have talked to a service tech. Manager who admitted the acc system doesn't always work. I have 3 typed pages of issues with this crv. Case #12036468 issued, but no one in customer service will call me back (800)999-1009. After i wrote a letter to their headquarters, they promised to call within 2 days. No one did, even after i sent them an email.
My cr-v without warning will brake suddenly..very dangerous to me and the vehicle behind. Has happened on a straight hwy without traffic, and when i cross a specific rr crossing..i've checked with three dealers and am told nothing can be done with resetting the radar.only honda (america) can give the codes?in the meantime its dangerous and is going to get me or someone else killed.i purchased at honda of boone, (friendship) and have invoice for service on 16 june 2020, mileage 6743,and recently service at crown honda of greensboro 02/21/202, (mileage1714) .service mgr. Said call amerrican honda, but would not give me address/phone and said i'd haveto get codes? from them!
I was driving on an unobstructed road with no cars/ obstructions in sight and my automatic emergency braking suddenly engaged then released. Had there been other vehicles/ traffic an accident may have occurred.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving over a railroad track at a slow speed, the vehicle abruptly stopped with the collision mitigation braking system activated. The vehicle returned to normal operation afterwards. The contact took the vehicle to music city honda (88 belinda pkwy, mt. Juliet, tn 37122) where she was informed that the collision mitigation braking system could be deactivated each time the vehicle was started to prevent the failure from reoccurring. The contact stated that the safety feature needed to be amended as it may cause an accident due to the sudden and incorrect activation. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
While driving 45 mph on a divided road with no cars in front of me for at least 1/2 mile and no cars to the side or turning, my car brakes to almost a stop and the brake assist light went on. If there had been anyone behind me i would have been hit from behind. The braking was sudden enough that everything flew off the passenger seat into the floor. Took it to the dealership where i was told a shadow or a bag can set it off and there was nothing they could do to help because it wasn't broken and although some honda's allowed you to turn off that feature, the honda crv does not allow you to disable brake assist function permanently. You can turn it off every time you start the car but if you forget to turn it off a bag blowing in the street can bring you to a sudden stop.
Automatic emergency braking system activated as i was accelerating away from a stoplight. Turning off of a side road onto a 4 lane thoroughfare.upon turning onto the main road, i accelerated through an intersection with a green light.as i crossed two steel construction plates, straddled with the vehicle, the aeb system activated and brought the vehicle to a full and complete stop in traffic while i was on the accelerator pedal.dash announcement flashed "brake" and vehicle came to a stop.i was not following any other vehicles.i was accelerating.
I was driving in town at a speed of 35 mph when my car suddenly applied the brakes very hard and nearly stopped the vehicle. A warning alarm sounded at the same time. There were no other vehicles or objects within several blocks of my vehicle. I took the vehicle to honda on grand in elmhurst il where i purchased it new on 7-20-19 and reported the problem. They inspected the vehicle and could not find a problem. I looked online to find many people are having the exact same problem with this model. From what i read it appears to be a software problem with the adaptive cruise control. Honda is not acknowledging any problem at this time. My vehicle has 9480 miles on it and has never been in an accident. This is a serious safety issue and could easily cause an accident!
I purchased a honda crv from hagerstown honda on 3/16/2019.i love my crv.however, i've been having serious problems with my car.the honda collision mitigation braking system is causing my car to just stop while driving, usually going 70 miles an hour or more, down to zero without warning. The cmbs thinks there is something i'm going to hit, however there are no cars or objects in front of me. This has happened to me about 5 times now.i have had my car back to the dealership to see if hagerstown honda can fix the problem.i have meet with bob barnes (service manager) and talkedseveral times on the telephone about the issue, the technician (nick shifler) readjusted the radar, and ahonda sensing interview sheet that was sent into honda usa.it happened again just last week, where i caused a three-car accident on east bound route 66.i was the only one that was injured in the accident as far as i know right now, however the other drivers had significant car damage.this car is not safe.someone is going to get killed.the va state trooper at the scene of the accident told me not to drive the car because it was unsafe, and i agree.i contacted bob barnes service manager from hagerstown honda again last week, and he said he can't help me because they couldn't reproduce the problem and to contact honda usa. My car is unsafe to drive, because you never know when the cmbs system is going to engage, without warning.this has all happened on highway driving.

The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact had received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 21v215000 (fuel system, gasoline). The dealer was contacted and informed her that the parts were unavailable and that parts would be available later that month. The contact called back the same dealer three weeks later and was informed that they were only receiving a limited supply of parts and could not service her vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Fuel pump module with out of specification impellers. My vehicle had this above specific recall, in which i took my vehicle into the local honda dealership to get repaired, however, just 2 days after my vehicle had been ā€repairedā€¯ it broke down/stalled and became inoperable while i was driving into a store parking lot. Ironically, earlier that day i called honda service department to inform them that my fuel detector continued to say full even though the dash information read only 118 miles left in fuel, they instructed me to bring the vehicle back to their shop so that they could assess the problem.shortly after the call i made to honda service my vehicle broke down and so i had to have my vehicle towed back to the service department, after waiting for almost 3 hours they informed me that my vehicle had ran out of gas and insinuated that it was my fault, even though my vehicleā€™s fuel indicator read full tank and was clearly not!honda service representative continued to inform me that it was a little mistake that the mechanic installed the recalled parts incorrectly and that my vehicle was now fixed correctly. The following day i filled my gas tank full and the fuel indicator in my vehicle now read that it was less than 1/2 tank full!!!once again the honda service station failed to install the recalled parts correctly and when i called them to report my issues they responded to me as if again it was my fault!!!iā€™m tired of the inconsistencies and lack of respect and professionalism from this department!!!!how many times does my vehicle have to break down and possibly cause an accident before the recalled issues with it are fixed correctly???something has to be done!!!

The first this happen was when i park and i turn off the carbut the dashboard was still on and then appears most of the signals on and some weird code on the dashboard and is been for months like that and also like 2 months ago start as i was driving all of a sudden seems the car reduce the speedand i press the gas and doesn't do anything
Honda stated that the oil dilution problem had been corrected for 2019 crv's. It was not in my 2019 crv. I have aprox 21000 miles and each time oil is changed. Its been a quart high or moreon the dipstick with a gasoline smell. The dealer will not tell me that this is the problem. They keep putting me off. Very simply this is adding to wear and tear on the crv. Another problem is the gas fumes in the car cabin which are very dangerous .we have felt light headed while driving . This would cause an accident if we would pass out from the fumes,
Significantly low gas mileage at 15miles per gallon or less both city and highway with econ button on and off. Advertised as 29 city and 31 highway
My car get recall for fuel pump on 3/25/2021, but i went to my dealer and they told me that i have to wait and not provide my exact date to repair.
This car has a recall without any solution (fuel pump). I went to the nearest honda dealer and they don't have any answers for this problem that could be dangerous for us.
Excess oil fuel in engine brought to dealer they said no problem only in cold states i live in california. Had to pay to change oil even thou manual says do not over fill the same dealer had changed oil before and did not overfill.
Intermittent raw gas fumes inside cabin of 2019 honda cr-v. Raw gas smell present while vehicle is parked, moving on city streets and on the highway. Dealer was unable to replicate the problem. Dealer conducted an evap function test. The vehicle passed.
While refueling (at different gas stations and different pumps) the fuel nozzle becomes stuck in the cap less filler. Located in california, where the pumps have the vapor re-cycler. Don't know if that is causing the issue or not. This is while vehicle is stopped, engine off. Waited for 5 to 6 seconds as is called out in the manual. Didn't help the issue.
There is a recall for my fuel pump for this car.
2,790 miles. Gas fumes in the cabin of newly purchased 2019 honda cr-v and on the outside of car near front of car. On 02/03/2020, i took the car to honda's service center where they performed a multi-point inspection(visual inspection). They ran the car in the garage for 45 minutes but were unable to duplicate the problem and the smell could not be noticed inside the cab, around the fuel tank or under the hood. But they did say, the oil had a fuel smell. I found this is a known oil dilution problem that has been found in 2018 and 2017 models and that it was to be corrected for 2019. Honda is aware this is still an issue but say they cannot duplicate the issue so they do nothing. I have respiratory problems and very sensitive to certain odors and fumes, and when i drive the car i have to have the moon roof open and the windows cracked. It causes discomfort in my chest and air passage. I called honda customer service several times and opened a case. It was assigned to a case manager who said he would look into it and call me back in a couple of days, that was 2 months ago. He never called. I called them again 4/20/2020 and was told i can get a second opinion at another honda service center, but if the results are the same there is nothing they can do. Honda knows this is an issue that has not been corrected for the 2019 and refuses to do anything. This car is a hazardfor those with health issues, small children and for anyone breathing in these fumes. I am a senior citizen who bought this car based on good reviews because i wanted a good car that would possibility be the last car i had to purchase and it may be, but not for the reasons i hoped. When someone purchases a brand new car with a 5 year car note, the least they should be able to expect is the ability to drive the car without feeling they are putting their life in jeopardy. Honda is awful and shameful.
After starting the vehicle, a fuel odor came through the vents and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact called apple tree honda (242 underwood rd, fletcher, nc 28732, (828) 684-4400) and informed them of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 09773700. The approximate failure mileage was 1,900.
Strong gas smell in cabin and outside, near front of car when we stopped car. Took to port charlotte honda. They said rodent ate throgh gas line. I have the part that they removed,it was not through it. I saw some simialar problems on line with this exact car they charged 615.44 for nothing.i am 68y/o i need
I was driving on the freeway at 60 mph. Traffic was flowing. Suddenly, with nothing in front of me, the car applies the break and i came down immediately to 30 mph. It was terrifying and luckily no one slammed into me.
In car mounted screen for radio etc randomly changes while driving. From brightness off and on and darker to volume changing on its own. Only way to stop it (sometimes) is to turn off and turn back on the vehicle. Blind spot sensors also go out randomly sometimes because of weather other times (rarely, but still happened) randomly while driving.
Vehicle was backed into garage to towel dry after washing. Vehicle was placed in park, turned engine off and i exited the vehicle. After collecting drying towels i proceeded to lock vehicle (confirmed by beep) and started to enter my home when i noticed vehicle beginning to roll out of my garage. I could not catch it before it rolled down my drive and across my street into a tree damaging front end of vehicle. When i reached vehicle and unlocked it to enter it was still in park. I then started vehicle and backed it up (dragging front bumper) into my garage.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While the vehicle was engaged in park, with the engine turned off, it rolled backwards and went part way over a wall. It stopped suspended on the wall. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to billy craft honda (2634 lakeside dr, lynchburg, va 24501, 434-385-6045), where it was diagnosed and repaired over a 6 week period. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
This is a reproducible software glitch that can be consistently triggered by bringing the car to a stop on a slippery surface, and then flooring the gas pedal to spin the wheels with the transmission in 'd'. After the wheels have spun, the transmission shifts erratically while driving until the car is restarted
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated that while in a carwash port in neutral, the gauge shifted in reverse without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into a pole. No airbag deployed. No injuries were sustained. No police report was filed. No medical attention contacted. No dealer was contacted. No manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle damages were made to the rear driver side hatch. The failure mileage was approximately 4,700.
My 2019 honda cr v ex l has a serious seat belt safety issue: there are three seat belt assemblies in the second row.in order to buckle the left rear seatbelt (behind the driver) the belt has to cross over the bucklefor the center seat belt.this renders one of the 3 seat belts virtually useless.if they are engaged they are unsafe and they are very difficult to getthem buckled.i got this vehicle because i thought ithad a good safety record and i need to use it every day with my threelittle grandsons.i do not want to have one of them seated in the front passenger seat as honda says that would be unsafe for one of my 8 year old twin grandsons or my 9 year old grandson because of air bag issues in case of an accident. I have contacted the dealership and honda customer carewith no results.. I was told that honda is aware of the safety problem but has no plans to correct it.there was a california class action lawsuitabout this problem.i find it very disturbing that honda is ignoring this. This is my 7th new honda and my last.
Very unsafe seatbelt configuration. The 2019 honda crv is advertised as a five passenger vehicle. With the configuration of the seatbelts in the backseat the seatbelts have to crossover each other to seat five people. What i mean by crossover each other is the the actual buckle you snap the seatbelt into are reversed so in order to use the middle or fifth seat belt it has to crossover or under one of the other seatbelts into to to secure them. I spoke to the honda dealership about the problem and they said the car was designed that was and there was nothing to correct. Essentially it is a four passenger car unless you want to risk buckling people in what appears to be an unsafe way.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. Contact stated that the rear passenger's middle seat belt buckle clip failed. The contact stated that the buckle was installed in the reverse position. The contact's grand child's car seat car seat was located in the middle rear seat where the defective clip and buckle was installed. The contact used the middle passenger seat belt and clipped it into the right rear passenger's seat buckle.the contact took the vehicle to gillman honda san benito (1801 industrial way, san benito, tx 78586, (956) 361-3700) and was informed by the mechanic that seat belt failure could not be corrected. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure.the failure mileage was not available.*dt
I want to report an unsafe situation regarding the rear seat, seat-belt latches on the 2019 honda cr-v (and from what i can tell on the internet, for several other model years).the rear seat center and left side seat-belt latch receivers have been installed incorrectly. The setup causes the left side latch to be installed over top of the anchor portion of the middle seat latch.this results in the need to twist one or both belts in order to latch the belts.this setup results in a potentially unsafe situation when seating three passengers in the rear seat. Honda advertises the cr-v as a 5 passenger vehicle, not a 4 passenger vehicle!btw, i used the date i purchased the vehicle as the "incident" date.
My husband and i were sitting in the back seat of our 2019 cr-v and noticed that the seat belt inserts on the seat directly behind the passenger and middle seat were in the wrong position. In order to buckle the middle seat we have to pull down the strap from the top and connect one buckle directly next to the seat belt insert for the left passenger seat belt. So when we try buckling both the middle seat and the rear left passenger seat belt they are twisted around one another, making it unsafe to travel with three passengers in the back at a time. We have gone back to honda in order to get the issue resolved but were unable to due to the fact that all of the 2019 cr-v models were like that. We believe this is a safety issue. We often need to travel with three people in the back seat and this is truly an inconvenience for us, on top of it simply not being safe. We didn't think we'd have to check the back seat seatbelts when we purchased the vehicle, we've never had an issue like this in any of our previous cars.
The left and center rear passenger seat belts cross over when buckled. This makes it impossible to have a passenger with a center child seat (except a few unusual models) and difficult to belt in 3 passengers. It seems unsafe because of the extra load on the belts in a crash. I have contacted the dealer and the dealer contacted honda rep, i also complained to honda customer service. They respond the official honda national position is that the design is intentional to meet spacing requirements for outboard passenger, but no one including the engineer can verifythat the design is safe in that it was crash tested this way. (the engineer states it is safe but does not know about crash testing). Can nhsta verify that this car is crash tested this way and these seat belts will protect rears seat passengers? otherwise we must treat as a 4 passenger vehicle, while it is advertised and described in the manual as 5 passenger (false advertise?). We discovered the problem on 6/5/19 after purchase and meantime were working with dealer and honda to no avail.
The seats in our vehicle have a bad rubbery smell which passes onto our clothing. Its becoming more and more bothersome because the smell will linger on our clothes until they are washed.
Said call amerrican honda, but would not give me address/phone and said i'd haveto get codes? from them!
1;42 pm, 40 mph, on a road i frequently travel, sunny day no traffic ahead of me and for no reason vehicle braked hard and the words "brakes" showed on the dash. After a few seconds and before i could pull over it returned to normal. System designed to prevent accidents almost caused one. Very dangerous
The collision warning system has activated the 'brake' light several times in about the first 2,800 miles.it has not applied the brakes but the light has come on even though there were no vehicles close to mine. Closest in front of the vehicle was several hundred yards and nothing to the left, right or back. The brakes were not applied like some other online complaints for 2017 and 2018 models but i am worried that could happen. Each time i noticed the light i was traveling about 55 mph on route 28 in virginia in dulles airport area.i did not see any planes in the area at the time.the most recent incident was at about 5:45 am onjuly 17, 2019.
My honda sensing system has serious and dangerous malfunctions.when driving, the brake assist will beep and flash "brake" at me when there are no obstacles anywhere near the vehicle and on more than one occasion has actually braked and slowed the vehicle substantially.additionally, the lane departure warning comes on when i haven't left the lane, and also will brake when it is not only unnecessary but very dangerous, such as when i was driving in the fast lane on the freeway with cars traveling behind me.
I was driving in a local mall at a rate of 10-15 mph when the emergency stop feature engaged without warning. The car came to a complete stop, although u hadn't brakes. My wife experienced whiplash due to the seatbelts she was using. She will be in pt for the next month. The car was only less than a month old when this happened. I reported the incident to my sales contact, who gave me the contact information for the agency general manager. Despite messages i have sent to the manager, i haven't heard from him. I wanted to meet with him to learn how to avoid any repeats.can't believe honda reps. Won't discuss this.
2019 honda cr-v. Consumer writes in regards to unintended braking. *ldthe consumer stated the vehicle abruptly braked due to a shadow from a tree. The consumer turned the system off.
The automatic brakes have engaged three separate times, all while driving on the highway 60 mph minimum, each time in the right lane. Each time, no cars were present, i didn't veer off the road and there was nothing to trigger the automatic braking system.honda mechanic told me a bug must have been smashed on the sensor and that caused the braking.i find this hard to believe given this has happened three times in the last six months, including during cold weather.
I have had my vehicle since march of 2019. On approximately 5 separate occasions since then, the automatic emergency braking system has hard braked at inappropriate times. On at least two occasions, it seemed to be reacting to a seam in the highway, running perpendicular to the road (this was in no way a driving hazard, just a line in the pavement). I would have been traveling around 65mph on the highway on these occasions. On at least two other occasions, i have been 2-3 car lengths behind the next car in front of me, traveling at a similar rate of speed to them, and they slowed to turn. Here again, my vehicle inappropriately hard braked as though i was about to hit them, when there was in fact no danger of that (and at least one of these times i was already lightly and appropriately applying the brake myself). In each of these instances i was traveling around 35mph in the city. Thankfully these incidents have not led to an accident for me to date, but they are very jarring and could easily have led to someone slamming into the back of my vehicle at a high rate of speed due to the sudden and inappropriate braking. I am glad my car offers this feature, but am strongly considering disabling it due to safety concerns around the malfunctioning.
Collision mitigation system automatically braked when there was nothing in front of the vehicle. Vehicle was being driven at approximately 25 mph on a city street when suddenly the brakes came on and the vehicle came to a sudden stop.
The automatic vehicle braking system applied urgent brakes on its own when no other car was in front, nor was any other obstacle in front of our car.this is a huge concern because, the system applying automatic brakes could have resulted in a collision.
Three incidents (all random) travelling on two lane highway in suburban area, the cmbs system automatically stopped the vehicle.there were no other vehicles, animals, other obstructions, or cross intersections around.the weather was a clear, sunny day.the three incidents were during may, june, and july, 2020.(specific dates aren't available).the vehicle was travelling approximately 35 to 40 miles per hour.i took the vehicle to great lakes west honda - elyria, oh44035 (from whom the vehicle was purchased).service manager and technician took the vehicle out for testing.everything was operating to honda specifications.
My 2019 honda cr-v touring model had sudden unintended braking.there were no cars or obstructions around.it was at noon on a sunny day.my dealer said the car was working ok and gave me a page telling me not to use the adaptive cruise control in town.i called honda corp and asked for a buy back.this resultedin a test drive and a statement that the car was working as designed and there is nothing else to do.they did tell me that they found a code in the collision mitigation system data record that showed the incident.it showed that on 6/24/2020 the car braked by itself from 42 mph to 11 mph in 3 seconds.i stated that this is not "working as designed."they told me it is working to design and that nothing exists which can be fixed to prevent this problem.they pointed to a page in the manual that said do not use it in town.i told them that the honda ad calls it a "slow follow" system and the salesmen who sold me the car took a lot ot time to tell me how wonderful this system is in town.he had me demonstrate it in city traffic.please note i filed a complaint before, but i want to update with the fact that the collision mitigation system had a record of the incident as well as honda'sinsistence that the car was working as designed.also a flat refusal of a buyback.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stopped abruptly on its own without warning. As a result of the abrupt stop, the contact's chest struck the steering wheel. There were no injuries. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home without incident. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 3,399.
While accelerating through an unobstructed city street intersection from a red light that had just turned green, the vehicle's collision mitigation system -- without warning -- activated and forcefully applied the brakes for no apparent reason. The system brought the vehicle to a complete hard stop in the middle of the intersection and i was nearly rear-ended by the vehicle behind me. There wasn't any vehicle in front of my car and no reason for the system to activate. I could not override the system once it activated. I estimate my vehicle's speed at approximately 15 mph when the system activated. I understand there are reported problems and lawsuits about this issue with honda's collision mitigation system.
The contact's parents own a 2019 honda cr-v. While the contact's mother was driving 35 mph, she approached an intersection and the brakes completely failed. In order to avoid other vehicles, the driver swerved off the road and collided with a pole. There were no warning indicators illuminated prior or after the failure. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact's mother was taken to the hospital and treated for whiplash. The driver was also treated for back and neck pain as well as elevated blood pressure. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard and was eventually towed to an independent mechanic for inspection. The vehicle was not destroyed. Prior to the crash, the contact's mother received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v383000 (air bags, communications, steering). The vehicle was serviced at route 22 honda (75 us-22, hillside, nj 07205, (973) 287-4742). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 09923297. The contact was informed that a representative would call him back to obtain more information. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 7,175.
Under certain lightning or glare conditions, the cr-v's automatic braking comes on. It recently happened to me on three occasions. In the first it was on the t. R. Bridge, leading into dc, at 7 am, when the sunlight from the east was causing glare. The cr-v braked automatically while going at about 45 mph when there was no vehicle in front of mine. In the second and third instances, it was when i was on i-66 east on the overpass over the capital beltway at 8:30 pm traveling at about 55 mph. The cr-v's "brake" warning came on when there was no vehicle in front or next to the vehicle. The glare from the overhead lighting for the highway signs is quite strong in that location. This is a serious safety issue, since the vehicle can brake without warning in the middle of a highway at highways speeds, potentially causing the driver to lose control or to be rear ended at high speeds.
Unintended braking at 45 mph.full lock up with no cause.released at 10 mph.clear 4-lane street, no curves, no debris, no cars nearby no shadows.i was in the left lane.dealer told me not to use the adaptive cruise control in the city.(that is what sold me on the car).
While driving i noticed a bus about 20 car lengths in front of me the bus pulledinto a cutout to pick up and discharge passengers. As i attempted to pass the bus that was off to the side of the road, the vehicle suddenly applied the brakes.
Driving in daylight on a partly clouding morning on a residential street.no other cars or objects on the road.the honda collision mitigation braking system trips without warning and the car comes to an abrupt halt.the word "brake" flashing on the dash.took the car to dealer who ran diagnostics and then charged me $73 because there was "nothing wrong".something is most definitely wrong.this is safety issue as it could cause an accident or injury. I am not sure what to do.
-lane assist did not work-brakes did not work when applied, on a highway and city street-when the vehicle was close to other vehicle no warnings or such-it crashed with front hitting a tree and engine fell out of the car
My family experienced multiple episodes of sudden unintended acceleration with a new car purchased on 01/31/2020.the current mileage of the car in july 2020 is about 3,000.we experienced about 7 episodes in may and june.on one day, this happened 3 times.most of times this happened when i was slowing down to a stop sign.on one occasion, this happened after i had the car completely stopped at a red light.in all cases i know my foot was on the brake pedal.our car has weather mats, and it is not interfering with the operation of brake or acceleration pedals.in all these events my wife was in the passenger seat and knew i did not put my foot on the acceleration pedal.we had the same issue with toyota 2004 sienna and 2011 camry in the past.this is a well-known issue with modern cars.but no car manufacturer admits that the issue even exists probably because it may require a major design change ' throttle by wire, brake by wire, etc. - to resolve the issue.i believe the cause of this issue is the failure of computer software used to control all components.i believe the car manufacturers should include a safety in the software programming to lock the acceleration when brake is engaged.
The automatic emergency braking system engaged on a clear road. It occurred twice since i've owned the car. Both times occurred on a wet roadway. I deduce that it detected changed in road surface color on areas that had asphalt patches. No injuries or damage occurred.i submit this after reading about an investigation into toyota's aeb system.
I was stopped in cambridge in front of the mos pending a red light change and despite havingthe brake fully compressed the car moved forward slowly approx 3-6feet into the car in front of it.there were no lights or warning. I had no control over the car. The car had less then 100 miles on it and there was no prior indication that anything was wrong.
Brake warning signal appears on the screen when there is no visible reason for the warning to appear while driving on a city street

I received the nhtsa recall notice 19v-383 and, when i called john eagle honda (where i bought the car), they did not have the replacement part and didn't know when it would be available.i called the national honda hotline and was told i had to call another dealership to find out if they had the part and, if they did not, to call honda back and they'd try to help me.this runaround is outrageous, given that the recall involves a potential "uncommanded deployment of the drivers airbag".honda is callously disregarding the safety of its car owners and i want them to send replacement parts immediately to john eagle honda in dallas.

Received recall letter stating parts would be available for fix by end of may.now it is mid-september and when my husband contacted the local dealer he was told "there is no fix for this problem, and no parts to fix it."this is an unacceptable amount of time to wait for a repair to a potentially horrible problem.
With the 2019 model of cr-v, i am unable to only turn of the lane keep assist. There is no mention in the owner's manual about how to exclusively turn the lane keep assist off, or at the very least configure it so that it does not apply force on the steering wheel. All other advanced features can either not be turned on, or deselected in the menu. This is a problem because the lane keep assist is incorrectly applying steering wheel forces. There is a lot of road construction by me and the system will try and pull the car into the vehicle traveling in the next lane. A huge problem if it is a semi truck.there must be a way to defeat this feature and not effect other safetyfeatures that do function correctly.

American honda motor co., inc. (honda) is recalling certain 2019 model year cr-v vehicles. I have been notified of a recall for my crv."that the steering wheel may contain "burrs" which can damage the cable reel sub harness and cause a short circuit, this can cause inoperative steering wheel buttons, horn and uncommanded deployment of drivers side airbag.srs may not function in crash and uncommanded deployment of airbag increases risk of crash and injury."3 people have already been injured.when i contact honda for this recall repair they tell me the parts are not available yet and they do not know when they will be.i requested alternative transportation be provided me until recall repair completed.honda told me they had to review my "case" first, this would not happen until next week.i have no car to drive unless i drive a car that is unsafe due to honda not repairing it immediately.they need to provide all people involved in this recall with alternative transportation or repair the problem immediately.

I have been told that recall has been issued for my cr v involving the metal core of the steering wheel. When i tried to get it replaced i was told honda does not have enough spare parts. I would have to wait for at least one week and a half but that really they don't know when they will come in. Not only can i cause a crash which would kill me me but would also kill whoever i crash into. This is not acceptable so i would like to go on record as having warned that these crashes will begin to happen.

Etc.they (honda) told me they had to issue this warning, per government law, but they can't give a date to their customer as to when the defect will be resolved.any help, regarding this issue, would be greatly appreciated.

Driver and passenger door freezes and although the doors appear to unlock when parked the doors will not open.evan after 30 minutes of travel time when car has more than ample time to warm itself.also door locks me out even with the fob on my person. The car is stationary in both situations.
Moon roof leaks. Noticed it when using a car wash. Car was inside carwash and stationary.

The passenger and driver doors do not line up to the body of the vehicle which is causing the paint to chip when the doors are opened and closed.the weather seals on the doors are rolling as a result.
My sunroof exploded.

Windshield had a crack in the bottom left corner after owning it for two months and nothing hit my windshield. Honda tried to say there was a puck which there wasn't. Had my windshield replaced by safe lite and they used an after market windshield. I was having issues with my vehicle dropping 5-6 mph when going from one lane to the next.honda duplicated the issue and now honda is trying to say my vehicle is dropping speed because of an after market windshield and i need to have it replaced with a honda windshield.this is a safety issue.
In my neighborhood, i was turning right with foot on brake and car began to accelerate on a city street. Was going 5 miles per hour and speed went up. Eased off brake and braked again and it slowed. Went home slowly which was a block away
I purchase the car on september 2018. The car has a little than 15k miles. Started to get this brake system error
Recall - i was notified of a recall on my cr-v - nhtsa recall number 19v-383 back in may, 2019. I have called several dealerships and have been advised the part is on back-order. I do not feel safe driving my vehicle especially with my 7 month old grandson in the vehicle. It's been over 3 months - i think this is unacceptable. I was then told i should come in and at least get the software update - no where on the recall letter does it say anything about a software update. I have made an appointment to have the software update performed on 9/13 - a 3-4 hour wait time. Not happy with honda right now. Please help

When auto is on a hill facing downward and then is put into reverse to back into a parking space, the car moves forward.there is no "hold on a hill" protection.this is horrible after the car is in a parking space & you reverse to straighten up and it hit the car in front of you!!!
In cold weather, with a normal city driving habit, fuel and oil smell is consistently present during the driving, in the street or highway, causing nauseousness and dizziness.this is regardless of turing, stopping, or another car driving infront of us, the fuel and burned oil smell is present.oil was changed, the air filter was changed, the pan under the engine was cleaned, the oil drain plug was secured, and no leakage; nevertheless, the fuel and burned oil smell is still present in the car.we bought the car on 3/30/2019, and the issue started showing up when the weather got colder.
Issue with screen brightness started 2 months ago, initially i thought may be i accidentally touched screen and now i realized it is problem with screen itself. While driving on highway infotainment screen brightness lowers and highs and blackout by itself and 3 to 4 times screen was blacked out on reversing which i consider as safety issue. Issue will start if you are driving for more than 20 minutes. Dealers failed to inform about the issue when i bought car.
While driving on a highway at about 55 mph (cruise control set) with no vehicles ahead, the accident mitigation system activated causing the vehicle to aggressively brake on its own.
Driving on the freeway and sunroof glass spontaneously exploded. Was not going under an underpass and there were no other cars around. Moderate temperature outside and i was not running the heater or air conditioning (if that matters). Shade was pulled back, so i was showered with glass from the explosion. It is available for inspection upon request.glass went everywhere. Luckily my family wasn't in the car with me, including my 4-year-old son. His car seat had a bunch of glass in it which would have hit him had he been with me.i am still waiting for a call back from the dealer.no, it has not been inspected yet. This happened yesterday, which was a sunday, so nobody was open. I did call my insurance and am waiting to hear back.there was absolutely no warning before the glass exploded.
Driving vehicle at 60 mph with cruise set.car suddenly braked, lane departure activated steering wheel control, lane assist warning displayed.there were no other vehicles on the road, the weather was clear as was the highway.the instrument display began to show the following error messages:collision mitigation, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with low speed follow error, lane keeping assist and brake error icondisplayed in cluster group.trying to disengage systems using cancel on steering wheel did not work.pulled off highway, turned off vehicle and restarted and all error codes disappeared.contacted honda service and was not given a reason this happened.i did find a class action law suit was filed in u.s. District court for the central district of california in/or about january 2020.the lawsuit claims the safety systems are defective in the 2016-2019 honda cr-v, cr-v ex, cr-v ex-l, and cr-v touring suv's.i have attached a pdf copy of article regarding lawsuit.
On 4/6/2021 we were traveling on 580 in reno aprox. 60mph no cars in front or sides of us but one truck behind us. Nothing such as a sign or bridge over us and no road construction in that area. There was a loud explosion sound and glass raining down on both sides of our crv. We first thought was there a plane flying over that lost something? our sunroof literally exploded. Glass flew out like an explosion hitting the truck behind us. If we would have had the interior sunshade open we would have wrecked the car due to the glass that flew about. We then went to honda to see about it. They said something must have hit the glass. Nothing hit the glass. The glass exploded outward. The sunroof on this vehicle was obviously defective. We have placed a claim with our insurance and are having it fixed. This is a very dangerous situation that i have since seen many others have experienced but the car companies do not want to admit to. I'm hoping this very dangerous situation will be looked in as soon as possible.
Battery keeps dying after 2 days of not using my car. I brought mycar to a honda dealer and they checked it and said there was nothing wrong with it. So far this has happened 4 times. I have to jump start the each time
Re: nhtsa recall # 19v-383. Manufacturer recall # r4s dated may 21, 2019.steering wheel core repair. My local honda dealer, flow honda of burlington, nc still does not have parts/tools for the repair as of september 18,2019.they state that they do not have an estimate when parts/tools will be available. As of september 24, 2019 i have not had any problems relating to this recall.i am reporting this because i feel it is taking a long time for the repair to be performed for a recall of this magnitude.
I bought my honda crv ex on 7/19/2019 and mileage is 3,760 miles. On the way to work along a city street road in the morning on 2/2/7/2020 i heard loud pop and crack formed two spontaneous cracks coming from edge of windshield on both driver and passage side.
When vehicle is idling every few moments i hear a single whistle or whine noise. It happens randomly. We originally thought it was audio feedback from our phones or radio feedback but it's not as everything is off and it still happens. It sounds like it's coming from the front right of the cr-v.
While driving down the highway at 65 miles an hour the sun roof suddenly exploded. There was no traffic close enough to have tossed up a rock.we immediately stopped to see what was wrong and discovered a large part of the sunroof was missing.a small amount of glass fell onto the sunshade which kept it from hitting me in the face.the rest of the glass scattered in the wind as i brought the vehicle to a stop.fortunately no motorcycles were behind me or someone would likely have gotten hurt.no glass in an automobile should shatter this way it is dangerous both for the occupants of the vehicle and for those following.
My windows and sunroof opened on their own.i had been in a place of business.when i went in, the car was locked and windows and sunroof closed.when i came out, they were open but the car was still locked.no one and no pets were in the car which was parked.
The car wouldn't start until i messed with it a lot. I've read it's a battery drain and software update issue on message boards- several people complained about it. I've only had my 2019 honda crv since september 2019.
I have 260 miles and my car started to flash like christmas tree all the dash-board warning lights and engine was shaking. Lost traction and it's a awd and it was turning off every block. I was driving in the street. It was also smelling so bad worse then burning.
My wife was traveling thru an intersection with a railroad track running across the far side of the intersection when the honda sensing system caused the car to suddenly stop. There were no obstructions in the roadway and she stopped just short of the railroad tracks. If someone had been traveling close behind her, a collision may have occurred.
Honda crv display issues .the display starts flashing on its own and even makes calls sometimes . Also no amount of reset works unless you stop and start the car again . Also after shutting down the car a weird noise keeps on coming from display .this is a new honda cr-v 2019 exl model this is a huge inconvenience and safety issue as we lose navigation in between and it's always not possible to pull the car aside and restart it i do have the video which explains the whole issue but i am not able to upload here
In car mounted screen for radio etc randomly changes while driving. From brightness off and on and darker to volume changing on its own. Only way to stop it (sometimes) is to turn off and turn back on the vehicle. Blind spot sensors also go out randomly sometimes because of weather other times (rarely, but still happened) randomly while driving.
I noticed gasoline smell inside the car during driving, the car had 150 milestook it to the dealer of honda on january 16th the service manager examined the car told me there was gas in the oil, and to return back if the oil increases, and affected the drivability and engine light turns on. He refused to give me paper work of the visit or copy or the report paper he had in his hand, i went again asking about that visit paperwork he said he ran some test on the car and there is no paperwork i reported the case with honda.this is a safety issue the oil diluted with gas and the level goes high then the car can installon road
Driving and the anti-collision activated and stopped the car. No cars around and no obstacles in the road.the display screen indicated a problem with the system but when i took it to the dealership, nothing was in the computer that indicated something was wrong (see pic).even after the pic was shown to the dealership service dept they said the same thing- nothing was wrong with the car.the car was driving at a slow speed on an on-ramp with no car or obstacles in front of it. Who would have known what would have happened if it occurred while traveling at a higher rate of speed with traffic or going down a curved hill.
The engine lid cover is faulty and fell while driving on an extremely hot day. The clips are plastic and fail easily.
Radar obstructed - warning indicators came on with just snow flurries that obstructed the radar. Appears to be similar to the 2017issue fixed with software update 17-064. Reported to jones honda in lancaster pa but they said there is no known fix. Totally unacceptable spend $35k for safety features that do not work.
After leaving vehicle in garage for 24 hours or more, then attempting to start the vehicle, vehicle will not start. After using battery jump, vehicle will start and run as normal. This has happened several times over the past few months, even when vehicle is run for couple miles or more.
The passenger and driver doors do not line up to the body of the vehicle which is causing the paint to chip when the doors are opened and closed.the weather seals on the doors are rolling as a result.
Purchased 12/28/18. After driving home from dealer(60 miles) car was not used for 2 days. Tried to start car and battery was dead- totally drained. Called roadside service who started by quick charging battery. Brought to dealer who installed trickle charge on battery and told me to plug in car each night to avoid battery drain. They had also changed to a new battery. After first battery failure 5 additional times it failed. Dealership thinks a honda america will issue a corrective service bulletin during march 2019. Also, dealership is aware of 4 additional 2019 crvs with the same problem.
Overview: on july 4, 2020 my suv rolled backwards on a slight incline when the start button was pressed to turn it off while in drive position causing a broken ankle, multiple abrasions and back pain. Details:i drove my suv onto a driveway with a slight incline.the suv did not roll forward because of the incline but after stepping out of the vehicle i realized that i had not turned it off. I turned back around while standing next to the suv and pressed the button to turn it off not realizing the car was in drive.it immediately started rolling backwards (downhill), knocking me to the ground and dragging me since i was caught under the door.the driver's side wheel either went over my foot or dragged it (not sure which since at that point i was afraid for my life).it broke my ankle and tore away the skin in the ankle area.when it finally stopped, i was able to roll away and cry for help.this incident caused a broken ankle, multiple abrasions on my body and damage to the muscles in my back causing a very painful rib cage.these injuries required immediate and ongoing physician care and physical therapy.i truly believe that there should be a safety feature that does not allow us to turn the car off while the vehicle is in drive.it was something that was part of the older key start/stop vehicles.i believe that i read that some of the other manufacturers were dealing with this problem so don't know why honda hasn't addressed it.why is it not standard on all the new keyless push button vehicles?i know i'm not the only one who had this problem because my orthopedic doctor told me another of her patients sustained injuries with a roll back. Thank you for your time.
Control.
Vehicle has been observed to undergo unnecessary emergency braking operations during the use of the adaptive cruise control system. The vehicle seems to be sensing something that's not actually present and this causes it to brake rapidly. The problem is not repeatable when driving the same route under similar conditions.this is an ongoing problem that has been brought up with the honda dealer but as yet remains an unresolved intermittent problem.
When the outside temperatures got to about the 15 degree, it became apparent the defroster and heating system would not work until the vehicle was run on the road at highway speeds for several miles.i ran the engine at idle for over twenty minutes and there was absolutely no heat produced through the defroster.consequently, the windshield and side windows could not be defrosted or cleared of ice.vision was severely and unsafely limited.the local honda dealership pronounced the car in good shape on the first visit but did duplicate the problem on a second visit.however, they could not give us a solution other than to run the car in a lower gear.honda said to put a piece or cardboard in front of the radiator.no solution or fix was provided and the dealership could not do anything further until honda acknowledged the problem and provided a solution so we are at a standoff.if the car can not be defrosted prior to moving, it is an unsafe car in my climate.
Vehicle will not warm up to defrost windshield on cooler/cold mornings when running at idle., cold air blowing into cabin even after driving at highway speeds for 30 mins.after driving for 30 mins + engine will sometimes will be at normal operating temp. When coming to a light after this driving time engine temp gauge will drop to low.-temps inside car go to cold. This has been an ongoing situation since purchase new in jan 2019,we live in maine.going to the dealer for this problem. Online investigations bring up this issue since 2017 with the cr-v with the 1.5l engines-will no defrost the winsheilds.
I purchased my new 2019 honda cr-v in june, thinking i would be as safe, comfortable and satisfied as i was with my 2016 honda cr-v for 3 years.however, i live in a rural area and am unable to drive after dark because the top half of my front windshield turns black whenever my headlights dim and i only have clear vision for a few yards n front of me.after 3 windshields, many hours of diagnostics, and my wasted time and frustration, my insurance agent, family, friends and i agree this is a serious manufacturing defect and i am stuck with a vehicle i can only drive safely in the daylight.a dealer employee told me the new led lights present this problem in most newly manufactured vehicles, but apparently i am the only owner who attempts to drive in a rural area at night.i am especially in danger now that we are in hunting season and deer are crossing the roads at all hours commencing at sunset.
Was driving approx 65 mph, with no cars/trucks close to me, and as was looking to the left of car, heard a loud bang/pop, which startled me. Sounded like something landed on the forward roof, which nothing had. Car was running smooth, so knew i was not hit or ran over any road debris.i knew the noise came from the forward of the suv, solooked around front of interior while trying to figure out what happened.then i saw the windshield cracks sparkling in the sunlight.
Windshield wiper system does not work when it rains and in the morning when dew is present on windshield glass. Door does not lock often. Liftgate does not open often. Reverse camera does not work after rain for approximately 24 hours.
-lane assist did not work-brakes did not work when applied, on a highway and city street-when the vehicle was close to other vehicle no warnings or such-it crashed with front hitting a tree and engine fell out of the car
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While driving approximately 50 mph in the rain, sleet, and snow, the contact attempted to use the defroster, however, the system failed to clear the windshield. The contact had to turn the heat up all the way inside the vehicle in order for the defroster to work properly. The contact called mawah honda (located at 345 rt 17 n, mahwah, nj 07430, 201-529-5700) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated because the weather conditions had changed. The dealer stated that the defroster seemed to work correctly. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
My sunroof exploded.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the sun roof shattered without impact. The vehicle was taken to bell honda located at 701 w. Bell rd, phoenix, az 85023, (602) 490-8877 where the repair was still pending. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,500.
The contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. While the contact's husband was driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle turned left instead of right. As a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into another vehicle. A police report was not filed. The contact's husband sustained injuries that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was damaged, but was not towed. Prior to the crash, the contact called an unknown dealer about the steering failure and was informed that it was not a life or death situation. The dealer stated that they would call the contact back. The contact was not called back. The contact later received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 19v694000 (equipment). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
