Takata recalli called the dealership more than 3 months ago about getting the airbag replaced, after i received a recall notice from honda. I am still waiting to get an appointment to have the airbag replaced.

Takata recall. Honda states that car owners should have the recalled part replaced immediately and yet they are not able to replace the recalled part for several months (late summer/early fall). They suggest that car owners not have passengers in the front seat for several months until the part is replaced.

Received safety recall notice from honda regarding passenger airbags. Immediately contacted the local honda dealer on 7/7/2016 to arrange repairs. Had repairs scheduled for 7/15/2016. Appointment was cancelled due to parts being on back-order. Followed-up with local dealer on 7/19/2016 for updated status. Dealer could not give estimate when replacement parts would be available. Local dealer has been very professional and polite, describing the situation. Unfortunately, my honda is not safe per nhtsa recall 16v-344 and is causing a major inconvenience. Additionally, honda doesn't appear to be able to remedy the defect within a reasonable amount of time. As a long time honda owner (1996), i am disappointed.

Hi,i am filing a complaint against honda motor corporation on nhtsa campaign number: 14v-351.i living in long island new york. I live on a island surrounded by water and in high humid conditions. In the summer high humid conditions exist in about 4 months a year here on long island. But because honda does not list my location as part of the recall campaign i am not entitled to the takata air bag replacement.when i contact honda they cannot confirm if my vehicle even contains one of these affected air bags but just that i am not part of the recall campaign because of my location. I think this unfair that nhtsa is even allowing honda to make that decision and is putting my family at risk in one of these vehicles.please pressure honda to make them repair all the affected vehicles and to not put cost above peoples safety. They made the error with takata and why should we pay the price on safety.thank you[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall - this is a complaint filed against ray price honda, 505 fawn rd, suite a, east stroudsburg, pa 18301 (phone 570-421-2000). On 07 july 2016 i contacted ray price through their website about the airbag recall. On 08 july 2016 i was told they had to order my airbag and i provided them with all relevant information. I was told they would contact me back when the parts arrived. I followed up on july 11th and july 27th by email and was told the parts had still not arrived yet for my vehicle. On august 27th i contacted the dealership by phone, and they claimed they did not have an order in for my airbag recall. They said they would make another order and contact me when it arrived. It is now 17 september and i have not heard back about this recall. After 70+ days ray price honda has been negligent and failed to perform an important safety recall on my vehicle despite my numerous follow-up correspondence.

Takata recall has been the second recall on this vehicle.two years again i had to bring it in for the same recall, this is an inconvenience to me as it takes time for me to make arrangements.in the past the parts were not made available until the recall had been in place for almost a year.the dealership never called and i had to travel 2 hours to have the car repaired for this recall.now again another recall on the same part?

I have had two accidents in my 2006 honda crv and the air bags have never gone off.there is obviously a problem, but honda will not admit to it.one accident was in july of 2009, the second november of 2010i also had to replace all 4 tires at 34,000 miles.....they were rated for 60, 000.....so far i'm not happy with my purchasemy second issue is that the heat shield has rusted off, again called honda and they say that it's a routine repair.my honda only has 50, 000 miles on it.nothing should be rusting on a 4 year old car....

The seat belt locked in an open position upon impact, causing my father injury to his chest as he was impacted upon the steering wheel.i also don't understand why the driver airbag did not deploy; the forceful collision caused the frame irreparable damage.this vehicle was deemed a total loss.i asked that a representative from american honda corporation take a look at the vehicle while it was located at three (3) different locations.they ignored my request.the complaint number that i was assigned by american honda corporation is #n012007-07-2300426.as far as i am concerned, this has not been resolved.

The contact owned a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that an unknown recall repair was performed on the vehicle, but it did not remedy the failure. While traveling approximately 30 mph, the contact's vehicle was involved in a crash. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The driver sustained whiplash, head, and back pains, which required medical attention. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer's investigator determined that the air bags did not have a failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The nhtsa campaign number and failure mileage were not available. Ma 08/10/15the consumer stated that the manufacturer advised that the air bags don't always open at a 30 mile front end crash.updated 1/30/2015

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy.a police report was filed.the contact sustained bruising on the chest and medical attention was not required.the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. I have had previous issues with the srs system where the passenger side seat belt buckle had to be replaced,i recently had the drivers side airbag replaced due to recall.now the srs light is on again and honda refuses to repair or diagnose without me paying $80 to diagnose. I've also had issues with the drivers side headlights burning out at least 6 times a year to which honda could never find a problem.

The red air-bag indicator began glowing steady red on march 22, 2016. On march 28, i took the vehicle to local honda dealer to check on the problem.their diagnostic test that indicates "internal failure of srs unit".this part apparently tells the airbag system whether or not someone is sitting in either / both of the front.the dealer's technician said that the bag 'may or may not deploy in an accident' and it is 'not likely' that the airbag will deploy while i am driving down the road.apparently, honda does not consider this sensor an integral part of the safety system. I can have a new unit installed for $574.95.i was also required to pay for the diagnostic, $112.30, since this is a part the manufacturer does not cover.i feel that as this sensor is a part that the consumer does not maintain and is an integral part of the safety system, as it connects directly to the airbag deployment.i believe that honda should pay for this repair to the safety system as well as reimburse me for the diagnostic test.both the driver and the passenger airbags may be affected in the event of an accident.therefore, i wish to file a safety complaint against honda, lejeune honda cars in jacksonville, nc for failure to maintain the vehicle's safety system.

Car pulled in front of me on highway.no time to stop nor was i able to change lanes to avoid him.hit at between 35 and 40 mph.no airbags deployed and the seat belt actually broke and was hanging loose out side of car when they removed me.only my bracing with my arms into steering wheel and legs stopped me from going thru the windshield.

A safety recall was issued by honda dated june 2016 for the passenger air bag inflator advising that the passenger seat should not be used until the inflator is replaced to avoid injury to the passenger. I contacted my local honda dealer to schedule an appointment to repair this deficiency 7-11-2016 and was assured that i would be notified when the defective part would be available for installation. I checked back 7-29-2016 and was told there was a large backlog on the recall and to call honda customer service for a resolution to the problem. I called honda 8-10-2016 and 8-23-2016, was issued a case # 04914374 but was told the deficiency could not be repaired any time soon. It is now sept 13, 2016 and i still can't use the passenger seat in my honda.

I took my crv in for service at silko honda in raynham, ma. They diagnosed a short in the driver side airbag inflator. I believe that this issue should be covered because that airbag was replaced 2 years ago as part of the takata recall. I am disappointed that the warranty for this part is only 1 year. I believe that honda should cover the repair of this safety sensitive issue as part of the ongoing issues with its airbags.

The used 2006 honda cr-v awd that i purchased from the honda dealer in oct 2016 was involved in an accident on the 405 freeway in kirkland, wa in mar 2017.the honda cr-v rear ended another vehicle, driving approximately 60 miles per hour.both driver and passenger air bags did not deploy.

I received from honda a safety recall notice to have my front airbag inflator replaced at no charge. I took it to auto nation honda miami lakes 5925 nw 167 st miami, fl 33015. My car was there for 6 hours, when i picked it up they told me that they weren't authorized to perform the recall because they didn't have the original part. I'm sending this information to let you know in case something happens. I can't waste my time missing work to have this fixed when the dealer doesn't even have the original part. I'm pretty sure that if i had to buy this piece then the dealer would have it, but because it's free they don't care.

On the recall email alert enrollment form, there is no honda or saab for vehicle make.how do i subscribe when honda or saab are not listed as one of the makes?

My airbag light sporadically comes on when the car is stationary and in motion. I had my local dealer examine the issue and they said it was due to a faulty sensor in my driver seat belt buckle.the light doesn't come on every time that i drive the car. Some times days go by with normal driving that the light doesn't come on and then there are multiple days in a row when the light comes on.

After finding out via the owner's site that my airbag had been recalled i made an appointment with my local honda dealer to have my airbag replaced. I was told the parts were not in stock and i would receive a call to update me about availability before my appointment.i had to call back for the update and was told that they did not receive the parts.nearly a month later i called back to check on the status of the parts and was told that they had no estimate of when they would arrive.when i expressed concern at the delay i was told that i shouldn't complain about waiting a month - there were customers who had been waiting more than three months.the recall date is almost a year old and i have still not received a recall notification.it has now been nearly two months that i have been waiting to have my airbag replaced after finding out about the recall.i tried to contact the honda company but they have limited call center hours.

Air bag light is on indicating that it is not working.looked up my year and model and found a recall. Took it to dealer. Dealer said yes recall for your model but not your vin.my car is was manufactured in 2005 but sold to me as a 2006.this is potentially life threatening.

I have two of these 2006 honda cr-v the one that i purchased and registered in florida was recalled and repaired by the crown honda co. Pinellas park, fl however, the one that i purchased and registered in michigan; and is now used in florida nine months out of the year was not recalled and they could not set up an appointment to make the repair. The recall of just those vehicles registered in hot and humid states is ludicrous. It is usually just as hot and humid in mich. During june, july and august. There are also millions of "snowbirds" with tanacka airbags in florida 75-80% of the year. They need to recall these vehicles. I dont want to drive it in florida until it is repaired.

Complaint is that owner of vehicle (the original buyer) has still not received a recall noticefor the on-going problematic takata airbags. The recall notice has now been expanded to all 2006 honda crv's, not just location specific vehicles. I have contacted honda customer servicebut have still not received an official recall for airbags. Alarming and frustrating, considering peoplehave been maimed, paralyzed, and killed by these very honda-installed takata airbags. They saythey are being "pro-active" which is at best a joke. They need to take responsibility for their defectiveairbags and replace them in all honda vehicles with takata airbags. Honda and takata both suckfor not doing the right thing!

It has been over 60 days since we contacted our local honda dealer, and they still say they are waiting for the part

Takata recall - we received a letter dated june 2016 regarding this recall. Within aweek i contacted our local honda dealership, dick brooks honda of greer, to inquire.date of that initial call was7/6/16. I also called american honda. I was told by both that parts were not available but that i would receive a call when available. Our honda is driven by my teenage daughter and is it frequently necessary to have other passengers in the car. I expressed my concerns for safety.as of august we still had not heard anything back regarding the parts.i sent a request to american honda to inquire about an alternate vehicle. On 8/23/16 i received a call from ah. There answer was that only the passenger side was affected and that we should continue to avoid any passenger on that side.and that because we don't always have a passenger there would be no provision for alternate transportation. I still expressed my concern for safety and the inconvenience of having to drive a separate car should we need to transport additional passengers.at that time the rep called dick brooks who told her the part(s) had never been ordered but that they would order and would possibly be in by thursday (8/25).today is 8/30/16 and the part is still on back-order per my call to the parts manager. My concern remains the same.most importantly this presents a valid safety issue as well as an inconvenience.please contact me with a satisfactory resolution. Regards, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recallrecalled twice for airbag replacement, but i'm unable to obtain information re all the other airbag inflator in the car. I'm requesting investigation andproof of safety of inflation enclosures for the side airbags.please raise the issue as these are in similar close proximity to passengers. Honda corp and dealers are non responsive on this issue. Thank you for your attention to this. Your efforts are appreciated.

I do not understand the same problem same recall and not on the recall list. I understand this is a dangerous situation and may cause a fire. Can you please help me. Thank you in advance.

Low beams keep burning out after 2 to 4 months of use.i have replaced both headlights at least 5 times in the lat 3 years.just ridiculous.dealership just replaces bulbs and the bulbs continue to burn out way to quickly.even purchased longer life headlights and replaced both at same time, one bulb still burned out within 3 months.honda needs to address this problem which many are experiencing on their 2006 crv.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The vehicle was parked and unoccupied when half of the front driver's side interior door panel completely melted. In addition, the front driver's seatas well as the sun visor melted. When the contact entered the vehicle there was no smoke present however black soot appeared on the front driver's side door window glass and gray soot. The front driver's side wiring harness was stuck to the lower plastic door trim. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 11v456000 (electrical system) but the vin was ineligible for the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.updated 8/14/12 updated 08/15/12

Passenger side low beam does not function... Have replaced bulb every few months for the past several years, but this time (since feb. 2019) there is no recovery. I have replaced the bulb, socket and connector, checked fuses...hi beam and parking/signal bulbs all fully functional, but no low beam on passenger side. This is a dangerous and well known defect that a recall was issued for in the 2005 models. Honda, in certain model years, of which 2006 is one, has so far refused to offer remedy . There are more than enough instances of this unique hazard to justify a recall, and one is long overdue.

Driver side window switch intermittently worked (conveniently working when taken into dealership) during 2-5 years of ownership.now it has completely stopped working, and window is stuck up.

I have a 2006 honda crv which has a light that keeps coming on telling me that the rear door is open.it is not.the biggest problem is really a safety and security problem because when this light is on, the car cannot be locked.i have had this problem corrected twice , the last time beingnov. 15th 2007.i am ready to take it back because now it comes on and pretty much stays on all the time.

2006 honda cr-v. Consumer writes in regards to failure of door mounted electrical system. *ld

My wife and i have owned our honda crv since early 2006.it has had numerous electrical issues, specifically issues with the headlights and interior lights.we have had to replace the headlight bulbs at least once a year since purchasing the crv.it is clearly a major defect with the honda crv electrical system.i have seen numerous complaints on the internet by others with this same issue.honda is responsible and needs to recall the crv and fix the issue.i will never purchase another honda again.

Both headlights (low beams only) stopped working at same time. We checked fuses and they are fine we replaced a bulb and it still didn't work.

10-year-old honda cr-v with only 60k miles experienced failure of two key sensors in june 2016: 1) the vsa/abs control module, and 2) the air/fuel ratio sensor. The failure of #1 caused the abs and tcs lights on the instrument panel to turn on; and the loss of #2 caused the "check engine" light to turn on. Total cost to replace both via non-dealer mechanic was $2,425, which owner paid. Online research indicates this is a common failure for this make/model, so filing complaint with nhtsa for the public record.

Both low-beam headlights out at the same time. Worked fine in the morning. In the evening went to move car into driveway, and had no low-beams. High-beams and turn indicators worked fine. Checked fuses, checked relays, replaced both headlight bulbs (h1) and headlight switch with oem replacement part from auto zone.

Car begins to accelerate when in park or when my foot isnot on the accelerator. Car also reads several codes relating to vsa, vtec, etc however when i bring it to get checked, new codes pop up relating to similar issues.

Takata recall low beam headlight stops working headlight bulbs continue to blow. Then can blow after a couple of months

The vsa and exclamation light came on one day right when i started the car and has never turned off.my mileage was approximately 44,000 miles. Took it to the honda dealer and confirmed the abs module needs to be replaced.part+labor = $2400+ (excluding tax).called u.s. Honda manufacturer and they will pay 25% for the part.that still is expensive.i'm reading off on the web that countries in the uk and canada, that honda has paid the part in full.here in the u.s. They don't recognize this as a defect.this part is a huge safety issue.a local mechanic says i should not drive this where it snows.if there's sand, the car will be stuck.another mechanic said there could be a short.honda manufacturer never advised me of this or if it's safe to drive or should be replaced right away.coming from family who buys mostly honda's, i will not buy another honda again.i was looking at a odyssey, but saw it had a huge vsa issue as well. Sometimes i wonder if it was an electrical issue because a few times the cruise control light turns on once the car is turned on.have never used cruise control.never driven in bad weather and avoid heavy rain. Driven only few times per week and carefully in mostly local short distances.

While driving my 2006 honda cr-v i noticed a very strong burning smell that smelled like an electrical fire. It was very strong and i thought it was coming from the vehicle in front of me. I was at an outlet center in lk george , ny with 4 others in my car. We all were overwhelmed on how strong the odor was.i pulled out of the outlet driveway to get into the road so i could turn into the next outlet entrance. As i turned into the next outlet entrance , my driver's side window went down on its own a few seconds later i noticed smoke coming from the master window control and from my speaker panel below it. I stopped the car and had everyone get out. .911 was called and a firetruck came. The firemen took the inside panel of my car door off and found there were burned electrical wires that had caused melting within the door. There is no recall on this model honda. I looked up this problem online and found that the honda fit was recalled for this very problem in january,2010. The entire window master switch and it's corresponding wires had to be replaced as well as the inside door panel.

The front acc adaptor in my 2006 cr-v constantly blew fuses. I requested service on my car three times, and all three times the fuses were only replaced. No one seemed to know the cause of the surge. I finally took the car back again in november 2006 and told them to find the problem, not just replace the fuse.the housing of the acc adaptor had faulty connections that caused both contacts to touch and thus blow the fuses. The manager of the maintenance department gave me a printout explaining that the company had knowledge of the defect since march of 2006 but did not wish to do a recall due to the limited affect the surges had on the operation of the car overall. I personally travel extensively with my job and use my acc adaptor daily. This specific defect caused me to be unable to charge my phone while away from my home on business. The phone died and i was left without a way to contact anyone. It would have been great for honda to publish this defect in the acc adaptor housing to all owners of 2006 cr-vs.

My low-beam headlights have failed at least 4 times in the past year. At one point both headlights were out when i went to start the car in the evening. I've taken the car to a local vendor (not the dealer). Initially, they did some electrical work, stating there was a short in the system, but have since replaced the bulbs 4 times in the past year. Honda informs me that my vin is not part of their headlight recall.

During heavy rains, water will seep in under the carpets from somewhere forward and lower than the windshield.the water comes from under the dashboard, usually on the passenger side.it does not drip in, but rather soaks up from under the carpet.i personally have seen the water grow up to 2 inches in depth above the carpets.after some internet searching, similar problems were found in earlier models of cr-v.the issues found stemmed from faulty/old factory seals on items like the firewall and a/c vents. Please contact with more questions if this information is unclear or could be improved.

Potential fire hazard, wires leading to 12 volt power supply in dash area were darkened, caused short that left radio and gear shift energized at all times.battery was drained.

We purchased a honda cr-v in 2006.we have had 12 cases of the low beam head light failures.it is very dangerous because it happens at night and we are thankful both headlights have not failed at the same time so far.our local honda dealership knows this situation having replaced the bulbs and complete harnesses.nothing has stopped the ongoing problem.there needs to be a recall with a good solution not just replacing the bulbs.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While the vehicle was idling, the vehicle had trouble starting. Upon inspection, the driver side door began smoking. The contact noticed flames coming from the driver side door. The contact was able to extinguish the flames and disconnect the battery. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 12v486000 (electrical system, visibility). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The vin was not provided.

2006 honda crv since april 2013 i have gone through 17 headlight bulbs.that is the most i have ever had to put in any of my cars.if you type in troubleshooting problems with 2006 headlights you will see that there are many other people that are having this very same issue.i would like to think that you as a company would want to get this problem fixed or at least look at getting a fix.when i talked with my area dealer he didn't seem to think that this was a problem.i have had professional people install them that know better than to touch the bulb and they have gotten to the point that they won't install them for me anymore.they are worried that it may came back to them.i really hope that you will at least give me a thought as to look at your computer.

Low beam headlight on passenger side of 2006 cr-v continues to fail.both headlights have been replaced but the passenger side continues to go out monthly. I have complained to the dealer and asked if there is a solution and they only suggest replacing the bulb again.this is safety issue that honda should be forced to resolve.

The contact owns a 2006 honda crv. The contact stated that the headlights failed excessively making it difficult to see the highway when driving at night. In addition, the instrument panel lights were abnormally dim. The dealer advised the contact that there were no known issues with the vehicle however, performed repairs to the headlights as enforced by the manufacturer. The current mileage was 58,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.

The low beam headlights have stopped working over six (6) times in two plus (2+) years (car purchased used, 11/2015). Spent a couple hundred dollars on replacement bulbs; replaced the housing unit to see if that corrected the issue and it worked for a few months; finally in april 2018 went to hall honda (virginia beach, va) to diagnose the issue. They just said the bulb was bad and replaced it. I drive with lights on during the day and yesterday (7/20/2018) i noticed that my lights weren't reflecting on the cars in front of me while driving. Once parked, i checked and low beams not operational, but high beams work. This morning i called hall honda and have an appointment to go in today (7/21/2018) at 1:45 pm. I have printed out info from online complaints about this same issue. There was a recall, but it only went to the car year 2005. This is an obvious safety issue since headlights are needed when driving in rain (it is the law here in va) or when it is dusk/dark. Listing yesterday as the date this happened, although it happened first to me february 2016. I also checked off the electrical and lighting boxes, since i am not qualified to determine what is the cause of this safety issue.

Headlight went out again. I have replaced headlights approximately every 3 months in the last 2 years. Appears to be an electrical issue, as reflected in recalls for earlier model crv's. Honda needs to do recall for this for later model crv's.

I purchased my 2006 crv in 2010.since that time i have had to replace my driver's side headlight multiple times.i do not have exact dates, not realizing there was a problem until july 2014 when i had my mechanic do a diagnostic check and found there to be a short in the wiring in the steering column.after researching this, i found that almost one million crv's have been recalled since 2002 for the same problem.i spoke to honda's customer service/resolution center and they informed me that there is no recall on my vehicle specifically although the problem is the exact same one all of the recalled crv's have.honda would not assist me further and told me that i need to fix this problem out of pocket.i have already had both headlights go out simultaneously while driving to work in the dark almost causing an accident.this happened on two occasions, although it is commonly the drivers side bulb that burns out several times a year.i have been pulled over not knowing my headlight was out.this continues to be a problem and i am told the cost of the repair will be over $300.based on the number of crv's with the same defect, i feel that honda should be responsible for this repair and a recall should be issued for my vehicle before i cause an accident as a result of losing my headlights while driving in the dark again.thank you for your time.

Driver's side master switch for power window stopped working. I believe it is due to water damage/leakage through the window into the door panel due to fogging at the window corner when vehicle gets wet. There was a similar recall for this that was fixed in 2011 with a previous owner but seems to be recurring issue and in line with current recall p9d. When i search my vehicle no active recalls pop up but i believe my vehicle should qualify for this recall. This issue is occurring while stopped and while driving.

I was driving at about 25mph and both headlights suddenly went out.i had to use my high beams to get home.

The driver's side window on my 2006 honda crv will not open due to an electrical issue or short. The window mechanisim is frozen and does not work. This is a potential safety hazard, and i am concerned. I noticed that honda has issued a recall for this specific issue and for the model year of my vehicle. However, for some reason, my honda crv is not a part of the recall. This makes no sense since i am experiencing the exact issue with my crv that the recall notice indicated. I should be eligible for this recall/repair, and i would like to request an investigation.

I own a 2006 crv with under 33000 miles, i take very good care of this vehicle as i'm the original owner.so all of a sudden while driving on the highway my vsa, abs, engine, tps(triangle explanation point symbol) and brake light come on. I take it to the dealer and i'm told the vsa module needs replacing! costing $2400. Wow! that's expensive. I think this part should be investigated considering the severity! this part is vital and how has $2400 burning a whole in there pocket? please help! this is so frustrating!

Driving vehicle when both low beam lights went out.bulbs have been replaced multiple times and bulbs were replaced again.now, it appears that drivers side light bulbs are much dimmer (almost not visible) in comparison to the passengers side bulbs.operation of the bulb also appears to be sporadic.vehicle is not drive-able at night due to concerns with exterior lighting.

Low beam headlights fail every few months, sometimes while driving, necessitating replacement.it is a serious safety hazard.many people with the 2006 cr-v have complained about this issue to honda, the nhtsa and all over the internet.why hasn't honda issued a recall?honda did have a recall for the 2002-2004 cr-v for the same issue, but not for the later years, saying that the headlight system was different in newer models.maybe, but clearly the defect/hazard is in the 2006 model as well.i have reported this issue to honda before and did so again today, and it is american honda case # n012014-12-2301127.i insisted that they take a hard look at complaints about low beam headlight failure in the 2006 cr-v that have been filed with honda and the nhtsa and issue a recall, as they did for the older models.

I own a 2006 honda cr-v (bought in 2009). I am constantly having to change the headlamp bulbs as they simultaneously burn out. Now i am plagued with my console lights burning out...i have read that there are many issues with owners of honda cr-v involving the wiring harness. I have an appt. This afternoon to have yet another service call made on my honda...honda had a recall previously for the same issues back in 2002-2004 cr-v and obviously the situation has carried over into the 2005-2006 models...honda needs to do a recall on the 2005, 2006 and any other year models that are having the same issue(s).how do we as consumers go about filing complaints so that honda is prompted to do a recall?i have always driven honda vehicles for the most part but am seriously considering a different car in the near future. Kia...toyota.....ford escape.....i am tired of taking my cr-v in for headlamp and wiring issues the past 4 years now.

2006 honda cr-v, vin: [xxx].compressor failed at 74k miles. Interior vents now blow only hot air and the defroster no longer defogs windshield because compressor must work for defroster to work properly. I called american honda on 7/15/10. I was assigned a case #, and customer service escalated the issue 3 times. They refused to take responsibility for this compressor failure which is common on thousands of honda crv's from 2002 through 2006 (please see the forums on this issue). In some cases, honda has paid for the repair; in others, they paid for part of the cost of the repair; but in most, like for me, they refused to own up to this common defect. I wrote to tetsuo iwamura, ceo american honda, on 7/20. My letter was returned to customer service who again told me honda would do nothing. I wrote again to the ceo on 7/27, but received no response. I wrote again on 8/17 sending the letter via certified mail. That letter was received 8/19, but to date, there has been no response. Again, this is a common problem on honda cr-v's. Compressors should not fail at 74k miles. I never had this problem with any other car i have ever owned. And this is a safety issue because the compressor turns on when the defroster is on. Without a working compressor, the defroster can not defog the windshield, and you can't see where you are going. Re: nhtsa recall number20v-768. I made an appointment in advance with a local honda car dealer to take care of this recall on march 2nd 2021. I showed up to the appt. And the car dealer did not have the spare parts available for the recall work. I then demanded an explanation to the honda service manager as to why i was let to come by if they were not ready to take care of me, they knew exactly why i was coming. I live 1 hour and 15 min away from the nearest dealer shop. The honda manager, after noticing i was not buying their lame excuses, he very rudely and abruptly asked to leave the property. This pathetic episode happened in the honda of arecibo car dealer, in puerto rico on march 2nd 2021. The same day 3/2/2021 in the pm, i called honda hotline for customer relations to report this issue with the car dealer, the disrespectful manner the dealer manager treated me, and also to seek help in making a new appointment to take care of the recall at a different car dealer in puerto rico. A very polite honda representative assured me someone will be contacting me in the following few days to reschedule an appointment and to ensure the car dealer would have the spare parts ready to complete the recall work. Today is may 6th 2021, and i have not heard from either honda or any local car dealer. Clearly honda has not taken this seriously and has attempt nothing to work on my recall. I don't know what else to do or who else to call. Can you please help making honda complete this recall work in an efficient and respectful manner? thank you for your assistance.

The contact owned a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and shut off for approximately one hour when the front driver's door caught on fire. The fire department appeared on the scene to extinguish the fire. The fire department also stated that the fire was due to faulty wiring within the door panel. The contact also stated that prior to the failure, he left the front driver's window down slightly during rainy conditions. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an insurance facility. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v456000 (electrical system). The failure and current mileages were 80,000. Updated 12/19/11 .....update 01/20/12 updated 02/29/12updated 06/04/12updated 08/09/2012

While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suffered a right hand low beam headlight failure. Since this first failure the bulb of this headlight has had to be replaced approximately 10 times, and continuously burns out again. The fuses remain good, the relays remain good. It appears there is a wiring harness problem affecting this year model as a google search reveals hundreds of owners of this vehicle experiencing a same or similar issue. Most reference a heat damaged wiring connector underneath the steering column.

My vehicle has been going through headlights like crazy for the past two years. Approx. Every two months either the right or left side goes without warning. Most recently i decided to install higher end bulbs thinking that maybe the little 8.00 dollar ones were the problem. Wrong! i put a set of 50.00 bulbs in each side at the same time and less than a month later the drivers side went out! i drive on very dark rural roads at night coming home from work and if both of these lights fail at the same time i could be seriously hurt.

Headlights, brake lights, turn signal lights continue to burn out. On a monthly basis we are paying to have them replaced. Then we get stopped for one being out, take it to our mechanic and they are working. Nothing short of frustrating. These occur when driving and when stopped. All driving situations. This has been going on for the 20 or so months and appears to be coming more frequently.

Vehicle began surging then lost power.dash warning lights for vsa, engine, and "!" came on as vehicle lost power then stalled.turned off ignition and then restarted.ran fine after it cooled off for a few minutes.still happening over a year later.internet search reveals this is a common problem spread across many model years.dealers unable to solve problem and have no idea what is causing it.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the interior lights and dome light flickered. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights became inoperable. The contact stated that the front driver's side power window switch worked intermittently. The vehicle was taken to autosport honda (1201 us-22, bridgewater township, nj 08807) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was an electrical failure in the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.*dtconsumer stated she also had brake issues as they seized up and pieces of the bottom was rusted.

On march 16, 2010, the main power window controls (located on drivers door), began having problems. I could no longer close the front right window from this control. I was able to open the front right window and was able to open and close the three remaining power windows. The power window switch on the front passenger door did work (to open and close that window). On march 23, 2010, i turned on the ignition for my crv as i got ready to go to work. I noticed an intense burning smell (of plastic) and was able to trace it to the driver's door within several minutes. I turned off my vehicle and tried to examine the door further. Smoke came out of the openings (like the speaker cover) of the door panel. I noticed that the control switch for the front right window was now sticking. I pulled out the power window fuse from the engine fuse box and took my vehicle to my mechanic. Upon disassembling the front driver side door, the mechanic was able to examine the wiring inside the door and all looked normal (no sign of burns). They took out the main power window control switch and disassembled that and found clear burn marks underneath one switch and on the motherboard attached to it. They will be installing a brand new switch tomorrow that was ordered from honda. Until the switch is replaced, i do not have control of the power locks from the inside, opening or closing the windows, or adjusting the rear view mirrors. I do have the original switch available for review of the damage. While i did not see flames, i do believe that there was a small fire inside the power window switch and had the car run any longer, the smoke and fire would have spread and could have led to more serious consequences if i had been driving (and not parked) when this occurred.

I had a brake light go out on the passenger side of the 2006 cr-v. I replaced the light bulb, but when you press the brake pedal, if the headlights are on, the break light will not work. I talked with numerous people on the internet and at the auto parts store who have had the exact same problem with the same model of vehicle as mine (cr-v). My honda master mechanic believes that there should be a recall on this electrical problem because there are so many of these that he has seen and that have been seen by dealerships. Is there a reason why honda has not recalled the 2006 honda cr-v for this electrical problem? i bought 6 different lights, thinking that maybe i just bought a bad light or lights. I also switched the lights with the light that works on the opposite side (driver's side), but it won't work on the passenger side. If people are complaining about this on the internet and everywhere, but not filing a complaint on here, i figured that nothing would happen, so that is why i am sending this information in, in hopes that someone will look into the problem. Thank you very much.

Carwas being driven with cruise control set and it stalled while driving and refused to stay running until it sat over night.next morning blowby is coming through dipstick. Car did not over heat while driving.

Right low beam headlight not functioning.bulb is ok.

Drivers side low beam headlight has burned out 3 times in the past two weeks.passenger side low beam headlight has burned out twice.replaced each time without touching glass with anything or base with fingers. Have only owned the car for 3 months, and put on less than3000 miles.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the engine stalled.the contact was able to restart the vehicle and resume normal operation.the dealer advised that only the ignition key be placed on the key ring when operating the vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000. Updated 08/19/14*lj

Complaint mimics the complaints here in the nhtsa, complaint #'s 10573302, 10576909 and 10619157 for low beam lamps burning out prematurely since i first purchased it as a used vehicle back in 2008 from larry miller honda in hillsboro oregon much like what happened to the civic models for starters.what i don't understand is why honda america is not responding, what is the nhsta doing to apply pressure to issue a service bulletin?

The contact owned a 2006 honda cr-v. While operating the vehicle, the power steering suddenly malfunctioned and the steering wheel became very difficult to turn before the vehicle shut off. Moments later, the vehicle caught fire and the fire department extinguished the flames. The vehicle was destroyed. The fire department determined that the fire was due to an electrical failure in the vehicle. There were no injuries and a report was not filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Headlight bulbs continue to blow.then can blow after a couple of months or a year after installation.but they blow often enough that when they go, i immediately go to the store to buy replacements.just this evening, i had a the right side go when i replace the left side just yesterday.i fear that both may go at the same time when my wife or i are behind the wheel with our infant in the backseat.the bulbs have blown while going down the road, as well as when parked.since we acquired this vehicle in 2009, i have replaced over a dozen bulbs.i have only recently started saving receipts to better track this issue.

Electrical problem. From the first morning after i purchased vehicle until warmer weather came.in cold weather, below 34 degrees, even before key is placed in ignition, the speedometer is twitching showing electrical current going through.once key is placed in ignition, for the first 3-8 minutes, the electrical system does not work.trip meter is reset, inside dashboard panel has a mind of it's own.dealer has so far replaced the fuse box and the electrical cluster.they don't know what to do so have called american honda to take over.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that there was a loud bang from heard from under the hood. In addition, the air conditioning unit began to emit hot air. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the compressor had exploded. The explosion destroyed the air conditioning unit, in which the full air conditioning unit and compressor would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 101,979 and current mileage was 102,000.

Repeated burn out of headlight bulbs.continuous replacement by owner and by shop.both sides affected.

Since buying this car new i have had multiple low beam headlight bulbs burn out. A total of 25 bulbs have failed since 2007. After reviewing the information on the internet and this web site it is an obvious safety problem which should be investigated and addressed by a recall to fix the electrical problem. This was done on earlier cvr models.

2006 honda crv, great car , passenger side low beam burns out every frequently (5 - 7 weeks) i see many similar complaints on the internet. (wiring harness is mentioned) i believe 2002 crv's are currently under recall for this same issue.

Driver's side window is malfunctioning. It gets stuck in the upright position, thus not closing the window. Several occasions, the window will stick and not disengage to roll back down.the vehicle was taken into to honda with the recall notice. The advisor did not read recall notice and told me that the window would be sealed.two hours later, the window was stick stuck in the upright position not fixed.12/15/2012, took the vehicle back into honda.i told the attendant that the master power switch needs to be repaired or replaced due to the recall.the window is still malfunctioning. The advisor then said it is a motor problem, and disregarded the recall notice.i said i will call american honda for more information. The repair has not been made.

The contact owns a 2006 honda crv. The contact stated that the headlights would turn on and off while driving. The dealer advised the contact that the headlight failure could be caused by a failed switch or wires. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The current and the failure mileage was 60,000. Updated 03/23/12 updated 04/13/12

I purchased a 2006 honda cr-v 2 years ago.my trade in vehicle was a 1997 honda cr-v.since shortly after purchasing my car, i have had a recurring problem with the headlights blowing out, and sometimes the dome light inside the passenger area of the car.the headlights are blowing out on average, every two months.during the last year or 2 before trading the 1997 cr-v, i had similar problems with the headlights blowing on that vehicle also.i purchased my car from hendricks honda in charleston, sc.i have most of my service, including oil changes, done at that dealers service department.i have repeatedly asked that they investigate the problem, and have been told repeatedly that there is no electrical problem with the car.i visited superior honda recently in orangeburg south carolina.the service department manager there told me that in recent months, he was aware of at least one cr-v owner and several owners of civics who have come back and forth to their dealership because of similar problems with headlights blowing out.hendricks honda advised against contacting the corporation and said it would likely refer the matter back to them.i commute to work 120 miles round trip daily.i have been stopped on numerous occasions by police officers and highway patrolmen regarding one of my headlights being out.i now carry copies of the service requests showing that i reported the problem with the headlights during my visits to the dealership.i show these to the office as proof that the problem is recurring and i have been attempting to resolve it.i have been unable to get the service department at the dealership where i purchased the car to take the issue seriously and/or to try to determine the source of the problem.i have check to see if there are any recalls related to this problem, or any service bulletins, and have found none. Post script:there are numerous "incident dates".the one listed is the most recent.

The lowbeam headlights on our 2006 honda crv have failed/burned out numerous times. Several times, both lowbeams (right and left) have failed while we were driving, which is a major safety hazard. Since approximately 2008, the lights have burned out several times a year, every year. We have contacted the honda dealership as well as the american honda corporate office and have been given the runaround. They refuse to issue a recall or even inspect the lights. We have been told to have a "diagnostic" conducted by the dealership for $120 out of our pocket. Honda should be responsible since this is clearly an issue related to their faulty product. They issued a recall for this exact issue for the 2003 and 2004 crv models. The same issue is occurring with the 2006 model. There are numerous complaints all over the internet, yet honda refuses to take care of the problem. This is a serious safety hazard and a potential class action. Honda should be proactive and offer a voluntary recall for those who are affected by the headlight failures. Please file a complaint with american honda at 1-800-999-1009.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in the recall under nhtsa campaign id number 11v456000 (electrical system). Prior to having the repair performed, the contact had not experienced a failure with the front drivers side window. After the repair, the contact attempted to partially close the front driver's side window, but it would automatically close completely. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

We have a 2006 honda cr-v and tonight my wife was driving the car and out of nowhere the power window switch started to smokeand was on fire!!

The lighting in the dash are not clearly on.i have noise coming from the rear when making a right or left turns.

Upon stationaryignition, driver's side door started smoking and caught fire, melting the wiring harness, and interior window master switch (and cover) and the window motor. I pushed the car away from the house. We removed the door paneland heard a loud band and flames started pouring out of the door.i took it to martin honda dealer to be repaired. The charged me 1800. To replace the melted components, although they did not replace the mirror switch, which failed as a result of the fire.i found a recall number 12v-486 dated 10/4/2012. Power window master switch, which describes exactly what happened.i contacted honda and they opened a case as i am looking for reimbursement t and also to have the additional repair performed.they told me that the recall had been previously performed on this car.and it happened again???? now, i'm afraid to drive it!

On monday, january 25, 2010, my 2006 honda crv was parked in a lot, turned off, for at least 10 min. While i sat in the driver's seat making follow-up sales calls. A white cloud of smoke began to rise from the main power window control switch specifically coming from the rear left button. It smelled like an electrical fire.within 5 seconds, flames started coming out of the button.afraid, i grabbed my bottle of water, pouring half of it on the flames.the flames actually stopped, the smoke continued. I poured the rest of the bottle on it and finally the smoke subsided.it was very frightening and late. I went home and told my husband what had happened.he suggested i stop at our nearby service station and ask what they thought.the next day i did just that. Tuesday, january 26 i pulled into that same station, where i have most of my vehicle service work done.they removed the whole control panel to find it had actually melted and burn marks remained on the fabric covering the door.i then headed for the honda dealership where i had purchased the car.with the control panel in hand, i showed and explained to them the obvious problem. I was then told they had never heard of anything like this and it would only take a day or two for them to replace the switch, which cost me $187.00.they gave me a free loaner car and sent me on my way.thursday january28, i picked up my car, paid the bill and left.as i was driving on friday, january 29, listening to 1210 radio, where they spoke of the honda recall of the fit for the exact same problem!i had already called the honda national number, spoke with a customer service rep. And then had a claim agent return my call.these calls occurred on tuesday, prior to my arriving at the honda dealership. His response was the same as the honda dealer only more rude and defensive.someone had the first fit which had a window switch fire!perhaps i had the first honda c-rv which had a window switch fire!*tw

Non-driving failure: at night, when opening car the door, meter needles keep shaking regardless ifkey is in or out.in-driving failure: for each day first driving, all meter needles suddenly point at 0-position, and brake & maintenance light on and display keeps flashing, regardlessif car is moving or at a stop, or fuel tank is full.such problem keeps several minutes and automatically goes away. The failure is repeated for the first driving of each driving day. Dealer said they do not know the root cause but saw one similar case a few months ago and after replacing the entire meter panel the customer never came back. Dealer mentioned that early build of 2006 honda cr-vs have such problem and american honda already knew the problem. But american honda claimed to the customer that it does not know such failure. Though not knowing the root cause, american honda instructed dealer to replace entire meter panel, the car is still in repair as of 6/22/2006. We found odi id #10156440 has similarity.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving various speeds, the contact smelled smoke emitting from the vehicle. The contact merged the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and exited her children from the vehicle. Suddenly, the cargo area of the vehicle engulfed in flames. A police and fire report were filed and there were no injuries reported. The fire department stated that the failure was related to faulty wiring in the passenger side panel. It was not yet determined if the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 89,000.

The anti-lock brake system (abs) vehicle stability assist (vsa) warning lights suddenly came on. I immediately took the vehicle to the honda dealer (grappone honda, bow, nh) who inspected the vehicle and they indicated that the abs modulator control unit had a defective internal valve and failed. The dealer indicated that the car abs system was no longer operational, and this also disabled the vsa (vehicle stability) system, thus making the honda cr-v more susceptible to roll-overs. The dealer indicated that new hampshire department of safety is currently contemplating requiring abs system operation to pass annual safety inspections, but that the honda cr-v could currently be driven without an operational abs braking system. The honda dealer indicated it would cost $2,050.00 to repair the abs modulator control unit and that it would take days to order the part and further additional days to schedule repair once the part was at the dealer. I reviewed safercar.gov information and discovered that this hondaabs/vsa system problem has occurred on other honda cr-vs. An assessment of available internet information indicated approximately 55 cases of honda abs modulator control unit failures. Since abs (and vsa)is so central to safe car operation, i ask that the national highway traffic safety administration act to address this recurrent honda cr-v braking system abs modulator internal defect. This is particularly important in light of the abs/vsa system's impact on honda cr-v braking and stability safety.[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I incorrectly put the car into drive 1.i noticed my mistake and changed the transmission to drive. The car's computer put the vehicle in full throttle. I braked and put the transmission into neutral and the rpm gauge showed the car to be in full throttle. I had to turn off the vehicle and everything was ok after this incident.i am 100% sure that the computer on this vehicle has some problems.

Vsa module failure 2006 crv.

Car begins to accelerate when in park or when my foot isnot on the accelerator. Car also reads several codes relating to vsa, vtec, etc however when i bring it to get checked, new codes pop up relating to similar issues.

Vsa module failed along with the abs. Called honda usa and they admitted that it was a safety issue but did not care and hung up on me. Dealer charged $2400 to fix. Car had only 88,000 miles. We were told we could keep driving the car.

Vsa stopped workingbad traction on wet roadscar jerks unexpectedly

Vsa/abs modulator failure. Vsa/abs and vsa exclamation point all came on at once for no apparent reason and would not go out. Certified honda dealer did a diagnostic which showed the modulator failure.....so essentially a major component of my braking system failed. A replacement cost of $1500!!!! vehicle is well cared for, i avoid inclement weather (ie: snow/ice etc.) when possible and i can count on two hands the amount of times the vsa has kicked on since first purchasing the vehicle in 2006 (brand new). As for my abs i'm not an aggressive driver so my abs haven't been used as much either. The vsa/abs module should not have failed as it did.

Vsa and exclamation sign lights lit on dashboard while driving in dry conditions.brought to dealer and informed the vsa modulator had failed and would need to be replaced...at a cost of $2682.my search indicates that this part fails quite a bit on hondas and needs to be made recalled since its a safety related item.

I have a 2006 honda crv with less than 40000 miles.upon starting the car the vsa and abs indicator lights came on and would not go off until the engine was turned off.there were no accidents or any noticeable problems with the vehicle while driving on city street under good conditions as we took car to the honda dealer, and was told the vsa module needed to be replaced at the cost of $2,600. Plus pus a charge of $110. For diagnostic test which had to be done.i feel this should be a safety issue, and should warrant a recall. Thanks honda for all your support.buy american

Sudden failure (warning lights) of abs and vsa systems. Car becomes difficult to handle during shifting gears. 2006 honda crv less than 90,000 miles. This is a safety issue with the car. Many complaints about this on the internet. Please investigate.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v.while driving approximately 45 mph, the abs and stability control warning indicators illuminated.the triangle exclamation icon also illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where they stated that the vsa modulator needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was notified.the approximate failure mileage was 34,000.

Abs and vsa lights came on. Took the vehicle to dealer and was told the abs modulator needed replacing. My cost would be $2450.00. Since this component controls brakes and stability it seems to me to be a safety issue and therefore subject to a recall.

I was driving and all of the sudden the car starting acting strange - acceleration was very weak, steering was heavy, and when i was stopped car would nearly stall.engine light came on, which was alarming.i took car into honda dealer and after doing some research they said i needed a software update due to a glitch in the initial software and charged me $224 which i was not happy to pay. This is clearly a defect in their car software since i didn't do anything that would have affected their car software.it could have been very dangerous had the loss of acceleration occurred on the freeway, threatening my safety and the safety of others.

The vsa and abs lights on my 2006 cr-v came on upon starting and stayed on until the engine was stopped. This happened every time the car was started.my honda dealership diagnosed the problem to be a faulty abs modulator unit.the stated replacement cost is $2,400, including labor. I feel that this defect is essential in ensuring the overall safety of this car.the weight of the car is significant enough that an uncontrolled skid is much more likely to end in disaster than a skid that is stopped with the vsa and abs function working properly. Living in central ohio, the abs and vsa functions are used frequently - especially in the winter. These key safety features were a top priority in my decision to buy this car.while the car's life expectancy is touted to be around 300,000 miles, it is unforgivable for such a significant safety function to fail at only 102,000 miles.i feel that honda should recall these cars and replace the vsa modulator unit entirely at honda's expense. And for those of us who have already paid for the repair - reimburse the full amount of the repair!the car without vsa and abs is not at all the same "as advertised" when sold new!

The vsa and check engine light will frequently come on and then if i take the vehicle over 2500 rpms i will lose power and the engine will stutter. This happens in anytime the vehicle is in motion, whether it's city streets or highway

Carwas being driven with cruise control set and it stalled while driving and refused to stay running until it sat over night.next morning blowby is coming through dipstick. Car did not over heat while driving.

I was in traffic and rear ended the auto in front of me.although my car was deemed a total loss, and the front end was damaged into the motor compartment, my airbags did not deploy...updated 05/07/15

On a 200 mile trip the air conditioner/ compressor locked up. I had just completed the 100,000 mile scheduled service which included the drive belt replacement. I was able to drive the vehicle back home as long as i didn't attempt to use the a/c or defroster. Obviously honda has a problem with the compressors they are using in there vehicles. Hopefully dot will investigate the faulty equipment. My sister in law has also replaced two compressors in her 2006 honda crv at lower mileage intervals. No more hondas for me!

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vsa sensor illuminated and the engine suddenly began to lose power. The vehicle was stopped and the engine was shut off. After restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. The contact stated that the failure recurred on one other occasion. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer (lia honda enfield, 20 palomba dr, enfield, ct) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. When the vehicle was started while in park, it accelerated without warning and the brake warning indicator illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 101,000.

3:30am - as i was sleeping, i heard an explosion. As i looked out my bedroom window, i could tell something was on fire in driveway. I ran outside and cr-v was completely engulfed in flames. Called 911, fire dept arrived and put fire out. Chester county fire marshall arrived @4:30am, nothing suspicious noted. Car and contents were a total loss. Driveway was ruined, but fortunately no other structures were involved.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving varoius speeds, the headlights failed to illuminate without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The headlights were replaced, but the failure recurred every three weeks. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000. The vin was unknown.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact statedwhile driving approximately 65 mph, the engine rpms increased excessively and there was a sudden loss of power. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the failure was unable to be replicated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 92,000.

On may 8th, i drove my 2006 honda cr-v home from a restaurant. I traveled about 25 miles per hour in my neighborhood. My honda cr-v suddenly shut off engine and restarted itself. The vsa light, check engine light and one more light came on. I was so scared. On may 10th, i took my car to honda dealer to be checked out. They told me that the vehicle stability assistance (vsa) system failed after i owned the car for four years and at 45000+ miles. Dealer told me it cost $2300 dollars to replace the system. I did not accept it. I asked dealer and america honda corp. To help. Finally they agreed i paid $725 dollars for the entire repair.

I have had this vehicle since 2006. Never had any issues until this year when the abs and vsa light came on. At first there was no issue but it got to the point that even after replacing several sensors the lights would stay on and the vehicle's cruise control could not set. It also had a lag between braking to when the vehicle would stop. Finally the engine seized in the middle of the road when my daughter was driving it. We replaced the engine to the tune of 2000.00 and now only a few weeks later the vsa light is back on.

Air conditioner failure at 90,000.its twin, a 2005 crv, had the exact same problem at the same mileage.this repair was $900.the ac had recently had a tuneup, as we were concerned over it due to the older car having the same problem.checkup showed no issues; failure was sudden.

My air conditioner compressor went out. The air conditioner was blowing warm air not cool or cold at all. I took it into honda dealer... It will cost me $900 to replace it. I am not to use it at all because it might implode or explode... I was called by the honda sales dept when i got home... I told him that i was on a fixed income and could not afford to buy a new car. (retired). So no matter what they said was wrong with my car , i cannot afford to buy another one. Then i looked online and saw where there was a lawsuit for the honda crvs 2002 - 2004 because of this problem. And many other crv years had the same problem! not just the 2002 -2004s. Why didn't honda recall all of the air compressors... My car is only 7 yrs old. I just thought it was my bad luck at first until i went online and saw all the complaints reg the compressors! can something be done to help us out? this is dangerous. I cannot even use the fan for air flow until it is fixed... I don't want it imploding or exploding! help

On wednesday july 21, 2010 at approximately 1:00pm i left to pick up my cousins family from phoenix sky harbor international airport. Driving there the air conditioning on my 2006 honda crv was blowing cold air. Upon arriving at the airport i headed to the curbside pickup turned off the vehicle and loaded up the luggage. When i turned on the ignitionto head back home i noticed the air conditioner was no longer running cold, only blowing hot air.in arizona, the summer time is extremely hot. Today, july 27, 2010 i took my honda crv to firestone complete auto care to have an a/c performance check and it was determined road debris (a rock) went through the condenser and created a hole. The associate contacted toyota (purchased it certified used and bought an extended warranty) who said it was considered road damage and the repair would not be covered. I have held off on the repair until i gather a few estimates and contact honda directly. I have researched online and this is a very common problem among some of their vehicles. There is a design flaw with the grill that allows large debris to enter and cause damage.

The ac compressor locked up on 9/13/08. The car has approximately 44300 miles. The car is still drivable without the ac. The dealer quoted $3000 for parts and labor because the failure of the compressor created other problems and all the lines have to be replaced. Fortunately, i have an extended 72 month/72k mile warranty which should cover all but $100 deductible. An adjustor must first approve the repairs, so it will be several days because this happened on a saturday.

Water pump failure, asked on three occasions while in the repair shop about a noise in the engine, it was ignored or i was told it was something else.my car then overheated nearly causing an accident, because it stalled.i had an extensive repair bill nearly $1000.00.

When attempting to pass another vehicle i pressed the accelerator down, and starter around the other vehicle, when i had completed my passing, i released my foot from the accelerator, but it did not respond. I continued to pick up speed at full throttle. After jamming down hard on the accelerator it release the throttle back to the idle position. This is the 2nd time this has happened.

I purchased a honda crv lx (4wd) in nov'06 from fairfax honda, va. The car had ~ 4400 miles on it when the incident occurred. We were driving near wheeling, wv returning back to fairfax, va. I was driving at about 35 miles per hour when the car suddenly slowed down as we were negotiating a mild curve and slope. Just over the top of the slope, the car abruptly stopped. The whole thing from slow-down to abrupt halt was 5-10 seconds. Initially i couldn't even get it to put it on neutral to get move it to the shoulder. After this it has turned out to be a very frustrating time with american honda and the dealer.i have been told by the dealer that the engine has completely broken down and has to be replaced (still haven't told me what caused it).being a new car with such low mileage, i asked american honda and the dealer for a replacement. The case officer never called me inspite of dozens of calls (finally reached him on thurs).he actually got aggressive when i asked about the car replacement. He said that my request would never get approved and is a waste of time. He even explicitly said that he was giving me an "ultimatum" - "i'll give a new engine. Then take the 7-yr extended warranty i am giving now, or else i will give you nothing". When i shot back asking if he was threatening me, he refused to acknowledge. He said that he would still give the extended warranty even if the new car request was denied in a very angry tone and ended the conversation. The case number is [xxx]. The case officer's name is [xxx]. The service director from fairfax honda [xxx] was not so aggressive but pretty much said the same things that herbert webb told ([xxx] had discussed the case with [xxx] before this). I am extremely worried about the vehicle that it broke down so bad without a warning the first time we traveled more than 50 miles. It is even painful when the manufacturer and dealer are not even ready to consider my request. Please help.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s

Emissions light came on. Took 2006 crv with 24,000 miles to local dealership. Diagnostic came up bank 1 sensor 1 heat circuit inoperable (bad front o2 sensor-emissions). Complained. No reason for o2 sensors to go out with such low mileage.

Driver side sun visor will not stay up.i went to honda owners' website and people are complaining about the same problem.there are honda cr-v owners who had replaced the sun visors on their cars more than three times.they and i think it's a safety issue since drivers don't have protection from sunlight and have difficulty seeing the traffic lights when the sun visor is down.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the front driver's side headlight periodically stopped illuminating. The failure recurred numerous times. The contact replaced the light bulb himself after each failure. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

Problem: headlight bulb blowout at any time; driving or stationary.the headlights on this vehicle according to honda are designed to run off the battery, not the alternator. If the battery voltage drops significantly, the car is designed to push the battery voltage back up. This causes voltage spikes that blow out the headlight bulbs. This is described online at www.carcomplaints.com.for example:cr-v176,000 milespassenger side low beam does not function... This is a dangerous and well known defect that a recall was issued for in the 2005 models. Honda, in certain model years, of which 2006 is one, has so far refused to offer remedy. I fear that both may go at the same time when my wife or i are behind the wheel with our infant in the backseat. The bulbs have blown while going down the road, as well as when parked. Since we acquired this vehicle in 2009, i have replaced over a dozen bulbs. I have only recently started saving receipts to better track this issue.- north kingstown, ri, usa

Ambler pa, passenger side low beam headlights have blown out three times in 11 months.feb 2012, january 2013 and last night 02/02/13 during a snow storm.driver side has blown out once in the past year.this situation is very dangerous.considering the number of similar complaints with the2006 honda cr-v, a recall is probably an appropriate action.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving at an unknown speed, the low beam headlights stopped functioning. The contact was able to continue operating the high beams headlights but the low beams would not turn back on. The contact replaced the headlights himself. The failure occurred intermittently about nine times.during some of the failures, only one side of the headlights would stop functioning. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 91,000. The vin was unavailable.

This car failed the va state inspection due to recalls. Car is now undriveable can not accelerate.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving at any speed, the headlights failed. The contact had the head lamp bulb replaced; however, the failure recurred numerous times. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 12v136000 (electrical system:wiring:interior/under dash). The approximate failure mileage was 154,000.

Vehicle was purchased used in may 2018.the driver's side headlight has burned out every 4-7 weeks since. No solutions fromtwo different honda mechanics.have read many similar accounts.have tried h1 bulbs from different manufacturers, battery was checked for power surges, no moisture, no reported accidents, rubber boots in place, didn't touch the bulbs, replaced the 'socket' with oem part, etc. No one has a solution. About 130,000 miles when first took place during my time so far. Seems to go out when driving. Bulb has slight burn mark on it after going out.

I bought an honda 2006 cr-v new in 2006. In oct. 2009 i started experiencing multiple low beam headlight bulb failures. This started after the expiration of the warranty. Since that time i have replaced the left and right bulbs 7 times. This bulb failure is spontaneous and when it happens at night while driving, it presents a very dangerous situation. There have been a number ofcomplaints involving honda cr-v low beam light bulb failures in the nhtsa data base. This situation is not unique to my vehicle. Honda has refused to recognize this problem and did not supply a solution. I feel a recall would bevalid in this situation since driving with one or no headlights presents a safety issue. I have replaced all the bulbs at my own expense.

Low beam headlights constantly need to be replaced.going through my 3rd replacement in about a year.usually one goes out and then shortly after, the other one goes out.i had them both replaced about a month and half ago.i was leaving work and turned on the headlights and within a second, they both went out.it was dark so i had to drive home with my high beams on.

2006 honda crv, great car , passenger side low beam burns out every frequently (5 - 7 weeks) i see many similar complaints on the internet. (wiring harness is mentioned) i believe 2002 crv's are currently under recall for this same issue.

Both low headlights went out at same time.the day before they worked.usually one goes at a time but that shouldn't happen twice a year.should it?i have never owned a vehicle where i have to change the bulbs so much.and now both!something is definitely wrong especially when i read so many other owners having the same problem.i respectfully request that honda issue a recall and see if my2006 is having same problem as other recalled model years.

When driving the brakes will seize up especially in the winter followed by a grinding sound. It did it twice yesterday(12/19/2020)while driving in the snow and the car will often slide making it difficult to stop. I have complained about this several times before on several occasions and once was told my brake like is probably frozen. The car dealership even took the converter heat shield off as it was dented and they thought that might be the issue. It is a scary situation when your brakes don't work good and you can't stop. I have changed my brakes on several different occasions but it still does it. Lights have been flickering and the car has even shutoff in the middle of parking.

While driving, both low-beam lights failed in the same moment.hi-beams remained functioning.earlier in the week the low-beams had flicked off briefly.bulbs had been replaced within previous 6-months.similar to honda fit recall and previous crv investigation low-beam investigation from what i have read online.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving various speeds, the low beam headlights failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 164,000.

We stopped at a gas station on a long trip and when we got back in car headlights went out and even with new bulbs are very dim. Have to drive with high beams to see to drive. Very unsafe.

We have changed the headlights on this vehicle numerous times that i have lost count.we have brought the vehicle back to honda and they can't find anything wrong with it.i find it ironic that there was a recall for headlight problems for the same vehicle but different year and honda is not taking any blame for this problem because their is no recall for this year. Currently my daughter has this vehicle away at college four hours from home and she has to deal with a car and no headlights !

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the low beam headlights failed to operate. The contact replaced the bulbs on several occasions but the failure persisted. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Wiring harness on passenger side headlight is breaking leading to marker light, turn signal and headlamp failure.the wires are breaking at the point where they leave the wire sleeve in the harness.in this location, the conductors are protected from stress only by heat shrink tubing and the wire insulation.stress from the weight of the rising wire harness and transferred strain from the back of the lamp connectors is highest at this point.melting of the wire insulation and heat shrink tubing was found.

I was driving at about 25mph and both headlights suddenly went out.i had to use my high beams to get home.

Drivers side headlight burns out repeatedly and without warning.have replaced it 4 times in 2011.mechanic cannot find anything wrong.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the driver's side headlight stopped illuminating intermittently and the passenger's side headlight would not illuminate at all. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Repeatedly the headlight bulbs blow out.purchased car used 10/2012, replaced bulb 12/2012, again 6/2013 and now another one blown 10/2013.

I am a one time owner of this vehiclelow beam headlights constantly burning out both sides, does not matter which brand is used. The lights burn out anytime 1-3 months of use after change out. This is extremely hazardous! and very expensive! living in alaska we depend on our headlights more than normal to avoid sever accidents in low light conditions, ie vehicles, ice /snow/rain, humans, moose, caribou etc. Honda should have recalled and repaired this condition many years ago! this is an extreme safety condition! this has been happening for the last 9 years 2007 to 2016, i average 8-10 bulbs a year @ $6-$15 a bulb and changing them out in sub-0 temps is no fun! the vehicle has no set pattern as to when this happens parked or driving and high beam use is a must at times with out getting pulled over. The vehicle started at 96,000 miles and now has 130,000 miles

I bought a 2006 honda crv new from a honda dealer in maryland. The car had only 3 miles on it when purchased. About a month after having the car the driver's side low beam went out. I had it replaced. Three months later the beam went out again and had it replaced by a friend. This has been an ongoing problem over the last six years. I have replaced my driver's side low beam at least ten times over this time frame. Recently, (oct. Of 2011) i took my car to aaa to have my headlights repaired because both low beams on driver's and passenger side went out the same day and i was traveling out of state.the mechanics told me that my passenger side headlight was corroded and had to be replace entirely.the replacement of the entire headlight cost me $600. I am taking my car back to honda today (april 2, 2012) to have the driver's side low beam replaced again! i also had to purchase headlight boots. I have reported this to my honda dealership numerous times. They continue to tell me that there is not a problem with the 2006 crv. Honda needs to look a bit more closely into this matter. Obviously, there is an issue and people are spending large quantities of money to fix someone else's mistake.

I have replaced numerous low beam bulbs on our 2006 honda cr-v.i replaced the left one this past week end.the bulb i removed tested fine, but i put a new bulb in anyway but still had no low beam!then after checking fuses which were ok, it worked.now it is out again.i checked to make sure everything had tight connections. The low beam is still not working even with the new bulb.this has happened on both the left and right sides.i had the right side go out a month ago and replaced that bulb.this a continuing problem.i decided to do some research and discovered i am not the only honda cr-v owner with headlight low beam problems.i read where a recall is coming for model years 2002-2004.i am one of many honda cr-v owners who believe the recall should extend through the 2006 model year.i have owned vehicles for over 50 years and can't recall a vehicle that has gone through so many bulbs.we purchased this vehicle from a honda dealer with 33,000 miles on it in april of 2009. Please investigate this safety issue!thank you.

After the headlight bulb has been replaced numerous times, the right (passenger side) low beam headlight no longer lights.the bulb has been replaced with new, the old bulb is completely intact (filament as well as glass- no burned marks at all), and the fuses are not blown.the internet is full of complaints about this issue, and in fact honda has recalled 550,000 previous pilot and cr-v models for this failure.seems the wiring harness is too short, and disconnects the low beam headlights.this is a clear safety issue, and is not due to owner error.thank you.

The headlights went out the day i bought my vehice and have read that this is a major issue that has been recalled for previous years but not this one. Many vehicle owners complain of replacing their bulbs every month or two and some have said that both have gone out on them during a long road trip. This is a major safety issue! please address this! i really don't feel safe driving far distances and at night.

I have experienced multiple headlight failures over the past 2 1/2 years, almost all on the driver's side. I have had it to the dealer multiple times and despite this, the headlights continues to burn out. Last time it was "fixed" it burned out the next day. Last fall, i had both lights burn out which is extremely dangerous. After an on-line search it is clear that this is a pervasive problem which has not been adequately addressed by either the dealer or the ntsb.

I purchased a honda certified used 2006cr-v in june 2010.it has been a great vehicle until september 2010.around labor day weekend, my driver's side low beam headlight went out. So went to wal-mart and bought a new set. Went ahead and replaced both at the same time.two weeks later, the passenger low beam went out, replaced it. Three week after that, the drivers side went out while driving home from work at night, replaced that one. Three weeks later the passengers side again went out. Replaced it. Now, the first week in december, the driver side was out, again!!!i am very careful to not touch the bulb itself when replacing it.i've also used the dielectric grease to help make a seal on the connector.i believe that there is something else wrong electrically.i am taking my car to get brakes in a couple of weeks, so i will ask them to take a look.obviously, the problem stems further down to the vehicle itself.at $25/bulb, it's rather expensive.

Own 2006 honda crv, had the right headlight go out and now the left headlight is out, replaced the left and still not working, looked on internet and found numerous complaints about the crv headlight problem, called honda dealer and they did not acknowledge any problems but the complaints on the internet carry out that the crv has a headlight problem, when i bought the new headlight bulb from an independent parts house they said they sell a ton of these and can't figure out why honda does not offer a solution to minimize this problem.

Beginning in 2008 i began noticing that i was changing my headlamp bulbs on a fairly frequent basis. As much as 3 or 4 times a year. Mostly on the drivers side. Recently the low beam went out again, april 2013, and when i replaced the bulb the low and high beams both shined very dimly and when i switched on the high beams both lamps went out. I am at a loss but suspect that there is a switch problem. Honda also recently recalled my vehicle for a faulty master window switch.

Right low beam headlight not functioning.bulb is ok.

Sense the fall/winter of 2010 i have change the low beam headlights on my vehicle approximately eight times.lately the headlights have been going out between three months and the shortest time being 15 minutes.

Replacement of head lights on 2006 honda cr-v after rain storms.three headlights in less than a year.

This vehicle blows out headlights constantly.we replace nearly every couple of weeks; this vehicle, and its twin, our 2005 crv.we have repeatedly notified honda of the problem, they deny a problem.i can't believe headlights only work for a few thousand miles each.we even have searched amazon, ebay to see if they sell them in hundred packs, its that ridiculous.we were heading to the store to buy a headlamp once--10 minute trip, tops, and the other blew out on the way, leaving us driving illegally with the high beams.this is a very expensive, and dangerous, irritation with these cars.no one should have to keep several bulbs on hand as a condition of owning a car.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the passenger side low beam headlight continuously malfunctioned without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.

Recurring issues since purchase new in february 2006:1. Low beam headlights burn out prematurely, regardless of bulb type, etc.2. Brake pads & rotors- rotors had to be turned every 15k then replaced every 30k when using honda parts; at 90k, changed to replacement parts and not honda parts; mileage is currently 186,000 and still on same set.reporting issues for consumer reference as honda dealership was not helpful from day 1 so found an excellent shop to handle everything except recalls.reported because experiencing same headlight issues as complaint 10809120. Date is approx based on when issues began.

With ever-increasing regularity, one or both low-beam bulbs have been burning out. Have replaced one or both at least 5 times, the last time was both bulbs, after exactly 34 days since purchased new at o'reilly's. Owner has installed bulbs every time. All precautions were taken, including not touching the base with bare skin, or glass - with anything. The last time - 34 days prior to last failure - owner applied terminal grease to bulb terminals, even though there was plenty already in place. Researching the internet, owner noted stories of corrosion or heat damage on terminals of headlight switches of certain honda models. Owner disassembled his steering column, and found no evidence. Owner also noticed early on (2013) what appeared to be flickering or pulsing of headlights at night. Owner installed permanent digital voltmeter to battery, and noticed no fluctuations in voltage, with a steady voltage of 14.15v under normal nighttime conditions. The last pair of bulbs to burn out were examined. Owner noted that the coiled portion of the tungsten element was completely intact. The wire just before or just after the coiled portion had been interrupted, and a small ball of molten tungsten was at the end of the severed wire opposite the coil. One bulb had the ball on wire just "upstream", the other bulb had ball on the "downstream" side of element.

Both low beam headlights on car failed at the same time when switched on. Checked fuses and bulbs and they are fine.

Driver side headlamp suddenly went out. New bulbs only last about a year, as i have replaced this bulb 4 times now

I have a 2006 honda crv se that the low beam headlights keep going out on. I took it to the dealer to be fixed, and they said it was a exposed wire going to the fuse box. I continue to have the problem though. My drivers side went out a month ago again, and then came back on for a week. Then the drivers side lights went out again. I went to leave work last nigh, and now both low beams are not working. I have contacted the recall department, and they tell me i have no open recalls on my car. I paid $400 less than 8 months ago to fix this, and now i have a worse problem. The dealer says i'm past my warranty on the repair, so i will have to pay to have them look at it to see what the issue is. I am also having an issue with all lights inside and out strobing and pulsing.i have read many people having this. This is a huge safety concern, and my next step is to call the nhtsa to report the problem. I am urging anyone having issues to call the honda recall line to report the problem. They will not do a recall to fix the problem until they have enough complaints. This was my first honda as i am a toyota girl, but i decided to give them a shot. I don't think i will be looking at honda's next year when i go to do my trade in. I have had more problems with just the headlights, and other lights in my car that and had not issues at all with my last toyota. This is a safety concern and needs to be corrected.

Over the last 12-16 months, the low-beam bulb for the headlights have failed approximately every 1-2 months.when attempting to research this issue on the internet, it appears that this is a common problem across multiple years of this make and model vehicle.in fact, it appears that they had issued recalls on an earlier model year of this vehiclebut have resisted recalling additional model years.i have not yet determined the cause of this problem on my vehicle. The passenger low-beam bulb seems to have been effected more than the driver side.i have been trying to track the timing of the bulb failures, and i believe that it may be related to long distance trips of over 100 miles.i have an appointment to have an automotive electrical company look at it and try to trace the fault.

My low beam headlamps burn out every 5-7 weeks, especially the driver's side. I live in a rural area with constant road hazards such as deer, winding unlit roads and icy patches. When the headlamp blows it creates a huge safety hazard since one light is not enough to safely avoid the numerous hazards i face on a daily basis. I return home from work after dark and am never sure if my lights will make throughout the entire commute.there are thousands of similar complaints from 2006 honda crv owners and something has to be done.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated the headlight bulbs were continuously burning out and would not last more than two months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was not able to diagnose the failure and stated to continue to replace the bulbs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 56,000.

Both headlights (low beams only) stopped working at same time. We checked fuses and they are fine we replaced a bulb and it still didn't work.

The passenger-side headlight on my 2006 cr-v went out 06/10/15, so i had it replaced @honda dealer next day. The tech said high-beam was also out! i questioned the likelihood of such an occurrence, but was not given any response that indicated a "known issue" with the headlights/wiring. Just a few hours later, the new low-beam bulb i bought thur. 11 june, went out! never got highbeam replaced because parts dept. Was out of them. I went online & found the following serious problems reported on link below by many crv owners -- lots of other 2006 crvs experienced recurring failure! see:http://www.carproblemzoo.com/honda/cr-v/headlights-problems.phpand after reading the comments of many other honda crv owners on the above link, i see why they're out of stock!this is seriously dangerous--i'm afraid now to drive it at night! recall is needed for 2006 cr-v headlight failures. Other hondas experiencing multiple/ frequent headlight failures were recalled, but not my cr-v.

Drivers side low beam headlight has burned out 3 times in the past two weeks.passenger side low beam headlight has burned out twice.replaced each time without touching glass with anything or base with fingers. Have only owned the car for 3 months, and put on less than3000 miles.

The drivers side low beam bulb fails after less than 2 months of replacement recurring issue. I have installed 2 different manufactures bulbs plus one oem bulb with same failure occurring in 3 months or less and less than 2k miles. Bulb has failed both in motion and stationary mode.

The contact owns a 2006 honda crv.the contact stated that the low beam headlights would fail repeatedly.the contact had to replace the lights every six months.the dealer advised the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed.the manufacturer had not been notified however, the manufacturer of the bulb was notified and informed the contact that the failure was not normal.no repairs were performed.the current mileage was 93,000 and the failure mileage was 10,000.

Low beam headlight stops working. Needs replacing on a regular basis. Every month or two.

The low-beam headlights on this vehicle do not last, causing me to have to drive a lot of the time with only one low-beam headlight, which is a safety problem.in the five years we have owned this vehicle, i have replaced each of the front low-beams (left and right) at least 10 times each.honda only has their warranty on their lights, and hasn't tried to do anything further with the vehicle problem to this point.it is an aggravating and frustrating problem, and also a safety hazard.i have seen numerous similar complaintsonline with this vehicle from this time period, and know of at least one owner of an identical vehicle in our small town who is experiencing similar problems with his low-beam headlights.

The low beam headlight on this vehicle has burned out 6 times for each side (i've replaced 6 on the passenger's side & 6 on the driver's side) since i bought the vehicle less than 6 years ago.the ironic thing is that i used to own a 2003 cr-v and i recently received a recall in the mail for the 2002-2004 models for "potential failure with the wiring of the low beam headlights which may cause the low beam headlights to fail".i did a bit of research and several people have the same issues.below are a couple of links you can check out:1) http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/27-miscellaneous-general-cr-v-discussions/17512-06-cr-v-headlights-burning-out-frequently.html2) http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/honda-cr-v/tlnd3jkaui93fs68g/p3 i would appreciate it if you could investigate this issue and let me know what may be done about it.thank you.

The first recorded incident was at 82411 miles, when after replacing both headlamps multiple times at my own expense, i took the vehicle in to a third party service center (that i've used for years on multiple vehicles) to have the headlight circuitry evaluated (no problems found). As stated earlier, as of this time, i had already purchased several replacement bulbs. Since this time, i, again, have replaced both headlights multiple times at my own expense. Over all, i would say that in the (approx) 7 years of owning this crv, i have replaced both headlights approx 6-7 times each. Having searched the internet several times over the years, i feel that having to replace these headlights as often as i have is unrealistic and evidence of a systemic problem, based on the number of similar complaints on the internet.

Repeated burn out of headlight bulbs.continuous replacement by owner and by shop.both sides affected.

2006 honda crv low beam headlights keep failing on passenger side.bulb replacement does not fix problem.dealer has not identified problem.

The contact owns a 2006 honda crv. The contact stated that he had to replace the headlight bulbs eleven times within a very short span of time due to them constantly failing. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where it was determined that the wiring harness to the headlights needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 23,000 and the current mileage was 66, 000.

Both low-beam headlights failed on november 25, 2012 while on a cross-country trip. A honda dealer checked the electrical system the following morning and reported no problems. The dealer replaced both bulbs and advised that honda cr-vs were prone to headlight problems. On the evening of april 23, 2013 (less than five months after the first double failure, vehicle mileage approximately 106,800 miles), both low-beam headlights failed again. The dealer where we purchased the vehicle checked the electrical system the following morning and reported no problems. This dealer also replaced the bulbs and advised that honda cr-vs were prone to headlight problems. In both instances, we noticed the low beam headlight failures at dusk, after starting the vehicle. We purchased this vehicle new in november 2005 and these are the only instances of headlight failure.

Headlights go out every 2-3 months so constantly changing bulbs. Very inconvenient and dangerous.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the headlights, high beams, and tail lights became inoperable without warning. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.

I have replaced the low beam bulbs 4 times the past 2 years on the passenger side and 2 times on the drivers side.this time the drivers side went out and after trying 2 new bulbs they still will not illuminate.i also have an issue with the dash light not coming on. The vehicle is scheduled for a check in 4 days.over the life of this car the bulbs seem to last a very short time.

Bought certified used 2006 honda crv in 2009. About6 months after one of the headlamps burnt out, replaced it then about 4 months later it went out again. It stated averaging going out every 4-5 months, we just keep replacing the bulbs.

The low beams on my honda have been replaced about 11 times since last summer.it starter with the passenger side- so now, it goes passenger, driver, passenger, etc.i changed the white things that hold the bulbs and replaced both bulbs (again!) now neither low beams work!i have to drive with my bright lights on and i live in a city- this does not make other drivers very happy.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving at various speeds, the headlights flickered and all the warning indicators illuminated. The failure occurred daily. The contact mentioned that the headlight bulbs were replaced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

Both left and right low-beam headlights stopped working while the car was being driven at night.fog lights and high beam lights are functioning.fuses are not blown.

I decided to write this after searching the web for ideas on what's going on with my crv, this seems to be a very common problem. The headlights keep burning out - it's getting annoying to always be replacing them. I cannot service my own vehicle and always seem to be into our mechanic getting a new bulb replaced for this vehicle.now my daughter is driving the car and i hate having her come home at night and tell me the bulb has burnt out again (twice in a month as of this week already since december 2012).i'm sure that i've replaced over 12 since owning the vehicle new.luckily they have never gone out at the same time which would be dangerous.

2/28/10 driver's side low beam headlight failed. Bulb replaced. A few hours later (fortunately not at the same time) passenger side low beam headlight failed. Bulb replaced. (high beams o.k.) 12/2011 received police warning when passenger's side low beam headlight failed while driving (high beams okay). Both bulbs replaced. 6/2/12 driver's side low beam failure. Again, both bulbs replaced. 7/18/12 passenger's side low beam failed. I attempted to have both bulbs replaced. Passenger's side low beam was inoperative even with the new bulb. Technician checked the power supply with a volt meter. There was no ground on the passenger's side low beam. Driver's side low beam works (for now), and both high beams. My cr-v was manufactured in 2005. Perhaps it has the same defective terminals, lighting switches and harnesses as those used in the 2002-04 cr-v's recalled by honda march 22, 2012? this makes night driving dangerous.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving, the low beam headlamps failed to operate without warning. The contact stated that the bulbs were previously replaced prior to the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. I own a 2006 honda cr-v and the driverside low beam headlight bulb keeps burning out.i didn't do the work myself i had a mechanic do it and he doesn't know what's up.

Both low beams suddenly stopped working leaving the road in complete darkness. This seems to be the same problem as was discovered and resulted in a previous honda crv recall whiyh was not extended to my vehicle:recall subject : low beam headlight report receipt date: mar 30, 2012 nhtsa campaign number: 12v136000 component(s): exterior lighting

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the headlights would not illuminate. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer but the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised him to take the vehicle in to the dealer for a second inspection. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

I was driving on the highway at night when i noticed it was very dark in front of my car. It turned out both of my lowbeams had failed at the same time. Thank goodness my highbeams kept working, although that meant shining a light in oncoming drivers' eyes. I thought this was just an odd problem that happened to me, but after reading other people's stories, i know it was part of a larger problem honda has. This is a safety issue. You cannot be driving at night and have both of your headlights go out.

Excessive burnouts and shorting of driver's side low beam headlight.replacing bulbs every six months on my 2006 honda crv.occasionally, bulb would work intermittently after replacement.now, even new bulbs don't work.in last instance, both low beams appear to have burned out at same time (fortunately during daylight hours).updated 08/24/11 the dealer informed the consumer they often have to slightly bend the head light housing with the bulb to get the proper metal to contact, which was the case with the consumers head light.updated 08/29/11

I have had to replace the headlight bulb as many as 6 times since we bought the car new in 2006.the last time was 11-25-09, during a heavy rainstorm.i also suspect that the daytime running light option is responsible for the short lifespan of the bulbs.

Starting in january of 2011 i have replaced the low-beam headlights numerous times.they are now going out every 4 months.it is getting quite expensive and honda should take care of this problem for the 2006 cr-v owners.

Headlight went out again. I have replaced headlights approximately every 3 months in the last 2 years. Appears to be an electrical issue, as reflected in recalls for earlier model crv's. Honda needs to do recall for this for later model crv's.

Multiple low beam headlight bulbs burn outs followed by complete failure of passenger side low beam.

Over the past year, i have replaced 4 head light bulbs.each time my mechanic has stated that the bulb was blown and that it was normal.it cannot be normal wear and tear to have to replace a headlight bulb every 3 or 4 months.i have found other complaints about this same problem but there has been no action taken by the manufacturer.

Headlights have repeatedly blown out over the past year unexpectedly. Have changed each bulb 4 times over the course of a year.

Excessive burnout of low beam headlights for past 2 years.replacing bulbs on one side or the other every 3 or 4 months. Have been stopped on numerous occasions by police officers for burned out headlights. Contacted honda service center who say they cannot fix without charging unless there is a recall.recall was issued for earlier models and appears, based on websites indicating numerous complaints of similar nature, that the recall should be extended through 2008 models.last week, both bulbs went out requiring me to drive with high beams after dark.we keep replacing the bulbs as we do not wish to incur the expense of having dealer repair when it appears to be a defect in the manufacturing. Have spoken to other cr-v owners having similar experience. My guess is that there are more cr-v owners with this problem but without the knowledge of how to report the issue.now keeping an inventory of bulbs on hand.

I have had to replace both driver and passenger side headlights several times since 2010 and once again the passenger bulb went out today.will have to take into repair shop to see if they can somehow figure it out.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the low beam headlights were turned on but they failed to respond. Both front low beam headlights suddenly went out while driving the honda 2006 crv. It was quite dangerous as suddenly could not see anything in the dark. The front low beam headlight bulbs were replaced several times since 2010 as they surprisingly only lasted half to a year.

As i was parking my car, it suddenly and without warning lurched forward full throttle out of control over the parking barrier and curb and through a storefront window. I tried to stop it as my foot was on the brake the whole time, but i could not, and it lodged itself into a drywall counter and side wall.(it was later found out that there was a 600 pound safe on the other side of the counter, whichprobably stopped the car) i shut off the ignition and yelled for help. I was covered in glass and injured my shoulder, neck, upper back and right leg. I had just had the accelerator pedal position sensor and rear brake pads replaced at the honda dealership 6 days prior to this. My car was maintained there regularly. It is fortunate nobody was killed. The incident was caught on the security tape.

2006 honda crv came with a british dashboard, cannot read instrument panel. Instrument panel lights only come on when its dark but turn off with any kind of light. The consumer was told the vehicle could not be alteredto us specifications.

My rear gate was extremely hard to open & close. Brought to dealership & they advised that the hinges needed lubricating. The sprayed a yellow foam on the hinges. In the week that followed, i noticed that opening that rear gate became very easy, so much so that the rear gate "falls" out of place. In order to close the gate i need to lift up with all of my might & shove it closed. Looking closer at the hinges, they appear to be snapped. I brought it back to the dealership today (5/24/10) and they advised that the hinge was snapped from disintegrating, and that they had never seen anything like this. They sent me to the body shop they use and the man there also told me the same thing, the hinge has disintegrated. I now need to replace the hinges because the body shop told me this is very dangerous, the rear door could fall off while driving as the only thing holding this on is the rear gate handle lock and if the door fell off while driving it could not only kill someone driving behind me, but that it would be thousands of dollars to replace the whole rear door/gate. This is a 2006 honda cr-v, how can hinges disintegrate in 4 years?!

Transmission slips on second gear and slams to third gear.

I just had a complete transmission failure with my 2006 honda cr-v 4wd at 118,000 miles. The transmission failed within a few days and gave little warning until complete failure occurred. The transmission would slip in all gears, so i could not put the vehicle directly into 1st, 2nd, 3rd,or 4th gear to get the vehicle off the highway. Luckily, i was close to home when the transmission failed but it took a few engine cool downs to get the vehicle driven off the highway to a safe location to be towed to my local honda dealership. Honda said the transmission was completely blown and needed to be replaced with a factory-rebuild. I own two other honda's (one is a 1990 accord with about 250,000 miles on it) and have never had a transmission problem in either car. I just don't understand how i can have a 23 year old honda with 250,000 miles on it that has seen absolutely no transmission problems but have a much newer 6 year old 118,000 mile honda cr-v with a 100% failed transmission needing compete replacement. I have searched all over the internet and i see numerous complaints about 100% complete transmission failures with 2004-2006 honda cr-v's. There is definitely something going on with these newer cr-v transmissions that honda has not reported (as of yet). The honda dealership i took my car to, said that i was the 1st cr-v transmission they ever replaced from the 2004-2006 cr-v series. Honda originally quoted my $4000 to replace the transmission with a factory-rebuilt but they contacted the regional honda rep and was able to lower the price down to $3000. That price is absurd, as i just cannot believe that a transmission will only last 118,000 miles. It will be very tough for my family to even think about purchasing any honda's in the future. I have talked to everyone about how great honda cars are, with a 23 year old honda still going. No more will i recommend a honda!

My 2006 cr-v shudders at around 40 mph. It did the same 3 years ago and honda charged me $1200+ to fix the torque converter (@ 107,000 miles). Now it is doing ti again at 162,000 miles. It seems it is a design flaw. Shouldn't honda do something other than make more money on me?

2006 honda crv rear differential fluid replaced once already and now having problems again. Hoping its just the fluid again. Been happening now for a few weeks.

Studderig / rumble @ 40-50 mph speraticly when you are excellerateing this has been goin on forabout a yr.

The car shakes at low speeds. Vibration and shaking to whole car affecting traction and everyone in car feels the shaking.feels like transmission is slipping in low gears. Only at lower speeds and not at high speeds. I bought it used this year, and the problem seems to be getting worse. Well maintained crv automatic, awd, 115,000. Really hope i can get it fixed with paying for a transmission. I thought it was the awd traction, but it seems to be a common complaint.

Rear differential in 2006 honda crv made a grinding noise when backing up or turning.

2006 honda crv, noise in the rear differential. Starts making grinding noise when turning sharply at low speed.pasted 36 month warranty period.honda put out a service bulletin #07-024 with instructions to replace the rear differential fluid and burnish the rear differential clutches. The owner's manual says to change differential fluid at 60k miles or 4 yrs. The original fluid is defective.

I have had an odd sound coming from the rear differential of my honda cr-v. The dealer said after the first change of the fluid the sound would go away but it has come back over and over again. They refuse to pay for the rear differential fluid change and i understand that this is an ongoing problem with 2006 cr-v's.

Dealer noticed a noise and reported a differential problem. Drained and refilled dual pump fluid, burnish differential clutches and drain and refill fluid again at a cost of $171.70.seems to be a problem with the cr-v's that need to be addressed and a recall needs to be sent to owners.

Honda 2006 cr-v transmission problem.transmission had to be replaced.after discovering the problem, the problem became severe within 3 weeks.honda overcharged for the transmission repair and replaced the transmission with a rebuilt transmission rather than a new one.after reading the honda complaints site, i discovered that honda owners who have had their transmissions replaced are having problems with the replaced transmissions too.also, the repair cost me $2,358.81 after honda supposedly contributed $1,500 to the repair. This cost is more than i would have paid if i had taken the car to an independent transmission shop for repair.i have never had transmission problems with any other car i have owned, including my toyota camry, which had 279,000 miles on it when it was rear ended and totaled by a ford 150.

My 2006 honda cr-v has only 71,000 miles on it.the engine has been making a knocking noise so i took it to the dealership.the honda dealership is telling me that i need a new transmission and that it is not covered under warranty.

2006 honda, cr-v. Rear differential making noise, at slowed speeds while turning. Checked owners manual, it states to change at 90,000 miles. Checked on-line to see if this was a common complaint. Couldn't believe there is an actual service bulletin out for this and no notification from the dealership i bought it from or the dealership where i've had my oil changes done at. Really disappointed that i have to pay to replace the fluids so i don't have damage done to my car. Why is honda not notifying there loyal customers about this problem, maybe covering the cost to replace the fluids that are "just breaking down prematurely"i bought my honda because of the reputation.

My honda cr-v is making a loud chattering noise during low-speed cornering. The gears in the differential need reground. My honda dealership says it is my fault and will not cover it under warranty. From the sound and the feel of the problem, i will soon be stranded along the highway. The dealership in hanover, pa where i purchased the car new, told me that i let the oil get too low and ruined the gears. I immediately took the vehicle to the place where i normally get my service. I crawled under the vehicle with them and they showed me that the differential was full of clean oil and properly serviced.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that when driving and attempting a sharp turn, the vehicle would exhibit an unusually loud noise. She also noticed a shuddering noise from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility for an oil change and the contact was informed that the rear differential was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current and failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the two rear seat belts and the front driver side seat belt had a problem retracting and would sometimes become stuck. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the seat belts were defective and needed to be replaced. The repair fixed the front driver side seat belt, but the rear seat belts were still experiencing the failure. The vin was not available.the current mileage was 72,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.

This car failed the va state inspection due to recalls. Car is now undriveable can not accelerate.

My seat belts don't retract properly on my honda crv.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While driving the contact applied pressure to the brakes and hit his head on the sun visor. He sustained an injury to his retina when the seat belt did not lock in place. The technician stated that he pulled the seat belt strap and it worked fine. The supervisor test drove the vehicle with the contact and performed several emergency stops. The technicians supervisor, confirmed and wrote in a report that the seat belt did not engage until he was halfway forward. The technician also stated that honda motors had been contacted they are waiting for a correction and an answer regarding the seat belt failure. He also spoke with another manager who also test drove the vehicle and denied the contact from driving along with her and within 10 minutes she said the seat belt functioned normally. On june 3, 2011 the contact was rear ended at a traffic light twice which resulted in a three car crash. He went completely forward without the seat belt securing him which caused him to hit the head rest in the middle of his neck. He was transported via ambulance to the emergency room. The contact also stated that a passenger in one of the other vehicles may have also been injured in the crash. A police report was filed. The supervisor who previously denied anything was wrong with the seat belt advised him on the day of the crash that there were codes that would indicate errors with the seat belt; however, another honda dealer that there was anything that recorded a crash did not exist. He was also advised that none of the technicians opened the seat belt mechanism to examine it. The dealer gave him an 800 number to the corporate office where he filed case#n012010-03-080148 which he was advised was currently closed. An insurance adjuster advised him today that they need to complete a more detailed examination of the vehicle in order to determine the extent of the damage. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.updated 3/8/12

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v.while driving 55 mph, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy and the seat beat did not lock.as a result, her knees struck the dashboard and were bruised.the dealer refused to inspect the vehicle to determine the cause of failure.a police report was filed.the current and failure mileages were 23,500.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the driver's side heat warmer overheated. The contact also stated that weeks later, the passenger seat began to overheat along with the driver's seat. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer fordiagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 104,000.

The driver seat of my 2006 honda cr-v began wobbling and rocking. When i took it to the dealer, they mentioned that the seat frame is worn out and need to replace it. It costs about $600. Driver seat is a very important part and should not be worn out like that.

Honda cr-v leaks rainwater onto floors of vehicle. An inch of water in the passenger compartment makes it dangerous to operate pedals which become slippery from footware, water damage to fire extinguisher and other safety equipment stored on floor for times of emergency. Many, many complaints from other cr-v owners experiencing the same problem online. I dried out the carpet, it rained again and another inch of water inside the vehicle. If mildew/mold grows this becomes a serious health hazard jepordizing anyone riding in the vehicle, especially those with compramised immune systems.

My anti lock brakes have stopped working, and the vehicle stability control does not work. I have a 2006 crv with only 20,000 miles on it at the time this happened. Honda told me it is over 2000 to fix and it is not under warranty and will not be recalled. They suggested that it isn't a safety issue, and that i don't need to get it fixed. I think this should be recalled, since my brakes will not work in snow, ice or rain and i live in wisconsin (where the weather will lock my brakes up) thank you

Abs and vsa lights came on. Took the vehicle to dealer and was told the abs modulator needed replacing. My cost would be $2450.00. Since this component controls brakes and stability it seems to me to be a safety issue and therefore subject to a recall.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. While depressing the brake pedal at 55 mph, a squeaking noise emitted from the vehicle. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the inside of the brakes were corroded and the disk and routers were warped and needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact stated that the brake pad shattered and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred a third time where the vsc and anti-lock brakes failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Steering locked up and driver lost ability to steer. Vehicle moved to left. Driver tried to brake but brakes failed. Witnesses described vehicle lurching to left and seeing brake lights come on but vehicle did not slow down. Car hit a street lamp and bounced to the right. Side airbags deployed. Front left wheel fell off the car. Driver sustained a mild concussion. Note that honda has issued a recall for some 2006 cr-v's related to suspension which could cause loss of steering (honda recall 12-020). This vehicle was not included in the recall but the incident seems very similar to the recall issue.

Recurring issues since purchase new in february 2006:1. Low beam headlights burn out prematurely, regardless of bulb type, etc.2.

I rear-ended into another vehicle, even though i saw it and used the brake (full strength) from a reasonable distance. The brake was not working effectively. Damaged body parts were replaced in may. I had a honda dealer to check my brake in the annual inspection, but was told nothing was wrong from their perspective.

I took my vehicle to the honda dealer for its 90,000 service.at this time honda dealer recommended work but did not perform replace front lower arm compliance bushing, ball joints boot torn. Honda did not mention the nhtsa campaign id 12v12400, (suspension front control arm lower arm). I felt like the honda rep did not explain my options, and did not listen to my concerns.i had it repaired at another auto care center.on 9-13-2012, the ac system went, compressor locked up.it needed an entire new ac system.at this time, the mechanic made me aware of nhtsa campaign id 12v12400 as well as many complaints on line of honda ac compressor problems and the class action lawsuit (now over).one part ruined the entire ac system.honda was less than honest in wanting to charge me for the suspension front control arm lower arm).these repairs totaled $2500.

2006 honda crv severe steering pull to the right.

We purchased a 2006 honda cr-v seon january 12, 2006. Our main concern is that the vehicle severely pulls to the right (pttr). If i let go of the steering wheel on the interstate, the vehicle will cross over into the adjacent lane in about 3-4 seconds. The pull is much worse on secondary roads that have a crown.in addition, the pttr is increased by even moderate acceleration. This condition was apparent the day we purchased the vehicle, however, we were assured that an alignment would correct the problem. So far, the vehicle has been in for repair 3 times. This included, an alignment, a 5 day period where a honda technical representative was called in to oversee the repairs, and lastly a 4 day dealer visit with repair recommendations from honda technical.the final outcome is that honda has not been able to correct the pttr problem.we feel that the pttr problem is severe and it creates an unsafe driving situation. Subsequently, we have filed a claim with the bbb that requests honda to either replace or repurchase the vehicle. Honda has denied the request. An arbitration hearing is pending.

Vehicle pulls to the right even after proper alignment. This failure is continuous. In ice or snow cover conditions vehicle has a tendency to slide. After several visits to the dealership, the blame was always placed on tires or rotors. After replacing tires and rotors these symptoms still persisted.

I am the automotive technician examining the vehicle. Mr. Jared larsen complained that his steering wheel began being off center both to the left and the right. Sometimes as much as 90 degrees off center. Upon examining the vehicle it was found that the steel insert where the steering wheel mounts to the steering shaft has stripped out to the steering wheel. Under moderate pressure the steering wheel becomes loose and there is no steering response. (notice the white stripe at the 9 o'clock position in the pictures and the second picture the stripe is split between 9 and 12) loss of steering can result in a crash. The vehicle will be repaired and the old steering wheel available for examination on request.

I purchased a 2006 crv ex in october 2006, noticeda noise when i bought it. The dealership said they knew about it and would fix it. After 3 additional visits to the service dept. Where they switched wheels, did analignment and straightened the steering wheel (wheel was never crooked) the problem still exists. I do not feel safe when driving this car because of the consistent noise and awkward driving experience. The vehicle also pulls drastically to the right when accelerated and is a danger on the highway.if this is how they think they will retain their reputation, they are mistaken. I know i will never purchase another, and am still trying to get this problem fixed.

While driving down the fairfax county parkway (westbound between greenspring village and rolling rd) at about 40 or 45mph, the hood on my 2006 honda crv opened by itself. It flew open and obstructed the window. I had to stop in a travel lane before proceeding to the shoulder at low speed. I'm lucky i wasnt hurt and didnt cause an accident.i had not opened the hood in weeks.

On 12/19/2018, at approximately 1630, i was driving on i-76n; 60 mphthe hood of my car flew up, crashing into the windshield.fortunately, i was in the lh lane and was able to coast to the median.my windshield was cracked. The force of the hit was so strong it knocked off the rear view mirror.damage: hood, windshield and roofcar was totaled

Nhtsa recall number: 12v-124mfr campaign id: s33campaign description: front lower arm weldrecall date: 03/22/2012summary:honda is recalling certain model year 2006 cr-v vehicles. The weld strength attaching the sub-frame bushing collar to the passenger-side front lower arm is insufficient. The collar can separate from the arm due to vibration while driving.safety risk:as a result, a loss of steering can occur, increasing the risk of crash.remedy:honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the production lot stamp on the passenger-side front lower arm and, if necessary, replace the lower arm, free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on or about april 17, 2012. Owners may contact honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009.i have had this part break on my 2006 honda crv twice. This is the same part that is listed in the recall. I would like to have my vin added to the campaign because i am worried that it will happen again and affect the safety of my driving. When i turn, i am able to feel the steering not as stable as it should be.

Starting june of 2012, i start to notice a vibration when going from stop to go. Shaking is more pronounce when going uphill. Once speed reaches 50mph, vibration ceases. Lately, the shake is more consistent. I tried to start to move slower in an attempt to dampen vibration, but it is still there. I have been reading forums where it is suggested that the angle of the shaft has something to do with the vibration. My question to that is : how come my odyssey and corolla don't shake at low speeds? none of the cars i have ever driven has this shake at low speeds. This should be labeled a fault that has to have a recall notice. A bad design of some part is causing the vibration.

The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 12v124000 (suspension:front:control arm:lower arm) but was advised by the manufacturer that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

Vehicle pulls to the right even after proper alignment. This failure is continuous. In ice or snow cover conditions vehicle has a tendency to slide. After several visits to the dealership, the blame was always placed on tires or rotors. After replacing tires and rotors these symptoms still persisted.

Honda dealer in flagstaff, az, indicated that the front compliance bushings are torn on my2016 honda crv and need to be replaced.i have learned that the honda bushings are not made of a solid/quality component and are failing at unusual rates which equate to unsafe driving and costly repair for the consumer. Is there a concern for suspension/alignment and steering problems due to torn bushings and is this related to the control arm bushing recall for honda crv 2006 id#12v124000?

The front end alignment on my 06 honda crv will not stay in alignment, it was re-aligned shortly after delivery as a new vehicle, and has been done again on 2-3 occasions. Was told by service department employee at chapman honda in tucson that the crv in question has a problem with pulling to the right which mine does. He advised me that honda is supposed to be working on the issue but could offer no further info.

Bought a 2006 crv in aprox beginning of june, after only 10,000 miles we had several problems.the passenger side seatbelt failed, the spare tire holder snapped, went through 3 tires and the car started making funny noises and pulling to the right.went to the dealer and they said the rear differential needed fluid replacement.after 10,000 more miles the same problem with the rear differential happened again, but this time they said we need 2 more new tires and an alignment.once the differential fluid is replaced the noise and the pulling stops, but only after 10,000 miles it comes back.there was a recall on problems with the differential but it started a couple of 1000 cars after ours, so we can not have ours fixed, and to make themselves look good honda just changed the maintenance on it to every 15,000 miles but the manual says it only needs it every 60,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that there was a premature failure with the front arm bushings. The dealer (brown's honda city, 7160 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, md 21061, (410) 553-8014) stated that the part needed to be replaced. The manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from a recall campaign pertaining to the vehicle and provided no solution. The failure mileage was not available.

2006 honda cr-v. Consumer states lost control of vehicle while driving *tgwthe consumer stated he had to struggle to keep the vehicle on the road. Fortunately, he was able to direct the vehicle onto a wide, grassy patch and bring it to a stop. Upon inspection of the front wheel assembly, it was apparent the entire right front suspension, including the axle had come loose and were resting on the underside of the fender.the consumer has since received a recall letter regarding a problem with the control arm.

2006 honda cr-v exterior spare tire carrier safety problem.my vehicle recently required the spare tire be removed from the vehicle to replace a road hazard damaged tire.on removing the spare tire cover, it was noticed that only two of the three tire lugs that support the tire were in place.the vehicle came with three tire lugs for the spare, as this was noticed when a different spare tire cover was installed within the first month of vehicle ownership.the damaged tire was replaced with a new tire and the serviceman went to place this new tire on the exterior spare tire carrier.he sheared off one more of the lugs and stated that he had not applied excessive force to have this happen.he also mentioned that this was the second lug now missing and that the spare tire should not be placed on the exterior spare tire carrier with only a single lug to carry the weight of the spare tire.the spare tire was placed in the interior rear storage area.i was given the sheared off lug, which i still have in my possession, should it be required to determine if structural failure was the result by examination of a metallurgist.contacting the dealer where the vehicle was purchased (honda of bowie, md), the dealership would not correct the problem, at no cost to me, as a latent defect, as they stated it was beyond the normal warranty period.they questioned whether the vehicle had been serviced according to the service manual.i responded that the spare tire carrier lugs are not a serviceable item (except to tighten the lugs to retain the tire) and that the lugs should last the life of the vehicle.i was referred to the next honda level of appeal, where i am still awaiting a resolution.i feel this is a safety problem in that the spare tire can possibly fall off the vehicle if the spare tire lugs fail, and would like to have this documented for other cr-v owners to help with similar problems.

Sudden failure (warning lights) of abs and vsa systems.non resettable, these systems are non functional.2006 honda crv less than a year out of warranty and only 20088 miles.honda diagnosed and declared a new vsa control valve needed.code 66-1.repair estimate $2064.there are many more cases exactly the same on the internet.this is a safety problem and should have a recall if failure is so soon in the car's life and so expensive.

The driver side sun visor swung down from the headliner while i was driving on the freeway a few months ago.fortunately, i was driving straight on the 210 freeway. Ever since the incident, it would not stay up against the headliner.

The transmission is making a loud noise (whining noise) and it could fail at any moment while i'm driving it. The car has 100,000 miles only.

The lighting in the dash are not clearly on.i have noise coming from the rear when making a right or left turns.

Driver's side sun visor will not stay up.it constantly drops down and blocks my view.if i want to be able to see i either have to hold the visor up with one hand or lay my seat back more.both of these situations are major safety hazards.there are numerous complaints about the same problem.honda wants over $100 to replace one sun visor - a monopoly for them.

We recently purchased a brand new honda crv ex last april 22, 2006. I noticed last may 8, while driving the car, there was a continous warning sign that the hatch glass was opened. I stopped and checked but it was closed. I made sure that it was closed but the warning sign never stop. Then, last may 13, my husband noticed the same time and when we were at the parking lot and tried to lock it using the remote control, it didn't lock anymore. We double checked all the doors and closed them one by one, but the problem remained the same. On that same day, we decided to bring the car to colonial honda (where we purchased) and they could not fix the problem andwe were told we needed to bring it during weekdays. May 15, i drove the car to colonial honda and had their service dept to check. What they were telling me that my expectation to the brand new car is so high and its only natural to encounter problem with brand new car. Thats the point i purchased a brand new car to release me from any problem and this car is only 3 weeks old. They even gave us a service small manual car, that makes me feel more disappointed to the whole thing. They were telling me that the problem with mycar is a very small problem but the bottom line, its still a problem and they dont have any control of any slight problem because it was only made by man. Thats what they were telling me. A brand new car should be tested by quality control before release to the market? i received a very poor service from this company and the fact that they gave us a car without inspecting if everything was free from any problem.

The sunroof glass suddenly exploded while i was travelling south on i684 in westchester county ny. Fortunately, the sun shade was closed, and we were protected from the shattering glass.

I heard that my vehicle has a recall on the ac. Would like to verify this issue, i have got lots of problems with this problem.

My rear door does not lock when i push the door lock from the interior, use the key from the exterior or the fob.my passenger side door won't unlock and now my driver's side door won't lock when i lock the doors or unlock when i unlock the doors.i have to manually pull up or push down on the lock lever.passenger side door doesn't unlock 95% of the time.this is a safety issue.other's have complained and have stated this is a recall.i do not see any recall notices for the lock actuator.the passenger side door has had issues for over 6 months.

An inch of water in the passenger compartment makes it dangerous to operate pedals which become slippery from footware, water damage to fire extinguisher and other safety equipment stored on floor for times of emergency. At a certain speed my front passenger side sounds like its on a rumble strip

I am the original owner of this honda crv. Air conditioning hasn't worked for years. I understand this is a common problem and i would like it fixed has there been a recall?

Compressorclutch gets so hot if the a/c is ran it melts or burns around clutch and compressor no heat shields ... (possible fire hazard)....

My car gets up to 2500 rpms and the check engine light comes on and the vsa warning light as well. The car jerks hard and the engine stutters and won't hardly go. It's done this to me twice and i had the ecu reset. The diagnostic comes up as the vsa system modulator.i have had my 6 and 9 year old granddaughters in the car with me. If i had been on the interstate in heavy traffic taking them to their doctor appointments, we would have been killed. The third time this thing went out i had to pull into the shoulder of the road to avoid being hit. I believe honda knows about this problem and they should be made to replace the part for free. This is a major safety hazard and the part runs almost $2000 without the labor. I believe they want to drag their feet and not recall this part because it's so expensive. I don't want to die in my car and i can't afford to buy another one.thanks.

Original owner of 2006 honda cr-v with 43,500 miles and automatic transmission.upon entering garage at residence, experienced sudden acceleration resulting in vehicle lurching forward into garage striking partially closed garage door and hitting rear concrete block wall of garage with sufficient force to dislodge wall and activate driver's side air bag.driver suffered moderate burns to right arm from air bag deployment.vehicle sustained severe front end damage. Am concerned that even if vehicle can be repaired, possibility of another similar event is troubling.i hope honda will investigate this accident and report its findings.

Sudden failure (warning lights) of abs and vsa systems. Car becomes difficult to handle during shifting gears. 2006 honda crv less than 90,000 miles. This is a safety issue with the car. Many complaints about this on the internet. Please investigate.

I parked in my office parking garage spot just as i normally do. I pulled in the spot going very slowly, and even though i am completely convinced that my foot was on the brake as i turned into the parking spot, once the car was in the spot, the car suddenly without any warning or reason surged forward and crashed into a concrete beam that was right in front of my parking spot.i am sure there was nothing i did to cause this.the weather was very cold that day, and that is the only thing that was different from the numerous other days i have parked in the same parking garage without incident. The car did not skid forward, because there was no ice, and i had a very distinct sensationof the car engine revving up on its own when it accelerated.i was bruised where the seat belt was positioned across my chest, but otherwise i was okay.the car sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.

Unintended acceleration in our 2006 honda cr-v a previous incident on a gravel driveway was quickly controlled and thought of as an anomaly. This time, on the highway, going uphill at 60 mph, attempting to pass, the engine went to full throttle.it would not return, just kept racing.the accelerator pedal would not respond.there was no floor pad involved.the brakes were applied as forcefully as possible. The emergency brake was pulled.it couldn't be shifted to neutral.this happened within a distance of a half-mile, and half-mile further is a signal and cross traffic.terrified, we wrestled the vehicle off highway onto a side road, and gradually ground to a halt, burning thebrakes.with the engine racing, it was put in park and turned off for a minute, then it started and ran normally. Towed to honda they found nothing wrong even when the district service manager inspected it.we would not drive it anymore. We wouldn't foist this vehicle on any one else except honda because it is unsafe so we reluctantly traded it in for as new one. Just because honda can't find out what's wrong does not mean there is nothing wrong.this is the fifth honda we have owned, but we are not great fans of the brand anymore.

Vsa module failure 2006 crv.

Carwas being driven with cruise control set and it stalled while driving and refused to stay running until it sat over night.next morning blowby is coming through dipstick. Car did not over heat while driving.

Car begins to accelerate when in park or when my foot isnot on the accelerator. Car also reads several codes relating to vsa, vtec, etc however when i bring it to get checked, new codes pop up relating to similar issues.

The contact applied the brake and the brakes did not slow down the vehicle. The contact eventually crashed into another vehicle. The contact suffered knee and chest injuries, and was transported to the hospital. Two other passengers were also injured and transported to the hospital. The contact did not call the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 48,000.

Unintended acceleration. Accelerating from a stoplight, the engine suddenly went to maximum throttle. The accelerator pedal had no effect, and the floor mat was well clear of the pedal. Pushing hard on the brake had little effect. Finally turned off the engine and coasted to the side of the road. City road where two lanes in our direction merge to one. Speed limit 40 mph; heavy traffic. Narrowly avoided colliding with car ahead. Car then towed to honda dealer, and is awaiting evaluation by district manager.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v which was purchased in 2007. She stated that while attempting to park and after the vehicle came to a complete stop, the vehicle lunged forward and crashed into a cement wall; although, her foot remained on the brake pedal. The crash caused severe front end damage and there was smoke under the hood. The contact stated that the smoke was due to radiator damage. The vin was not available. The vehicle was towed to the closest collision shop to have the vehicle repaired. The failure and current mileages were under 23,000.

The vsa and check engine light will frequently come on and then if i take the vehicle over 2500 rpms i will lose power and the engine will stutter. This happens in anytime the vehicle is in motion, whether it's city streets or highway

We experience sudden acceleration with our honda crv 2006.it is an intermittent problem and can happen at varying speeds on highway or streets. We have no floor mats by the way. When we drive to the dealership they keep telling us there is nothing they can do to help us. "since everything is computerized the car must be doing the actual sudden acceleration when you bring it in," we were told. We find this unacceptable and felt it wise to report to you.how can we get help? national honda customer center said the same thing to us.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that while parked, the front drivers window would not close when the automatic window control button was engaged. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test. The technician stated that the automatic power window control switch would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number 11v456000 (electrical system), that may be related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

2006 honda cr-v ex.driver's side sun visor will not stay up.dealer will not replace.is a safety issue because it obstructs vision.

The driver's side sun visor in my 2006 honda cr-v will not stay in the proper position.it has never stayed flush against the windshield, but rather sagged down about 1-2 inches; however, i just treated this as an annoyance previously.as of approximately two months ago, it started sagging even further when "opened" against the windshield, and now it no longer stays flush against the roof of the car either, or against the driver's side window if i have it rotated 90 degrees.it sags down several inches, no matter which direction it is turned or flipped.it impacts my visibility because it doesn't shield the sun properly, and it gets in my way, both physically, and by blocking more of my field of view than what is appropriate.i am not even tall--5'4".i purchased an extended warranty (8 years/120,000 miles) and am just shy of 80,000 miles now.i took the car to my local mechanic first, and they said the entire fixture needs replacement. Then i called my local honda dealer to see if this was covered under warranty; they said, "call honda and ask them."meanwhile, i asked what it would cost me to repair this out of pocket:$151 for the visor and $52 per hour for labor, so over $200, likely.i called honda, and a very unhelpful customer service person said the sun visor is classified as interior trim and therefore, not covered under warranty.i strongly disagree--this is a safety issue, not a cosmetic irregularity on the dashboard, or something equally inconsequential.

Both sun visors fail to stay in position when pushed against the window. They drop down to nearly vertical position. This is a safety hazard as it obstructs the driver's view while driving.

The driver side visor is loose and won't stay in position while driving.this is a safety hazard.if i'm in an accident, my head will be chopped by the visor.all of the honda forums show this is a common issue with the 2005-2006 cr-v.

The driver side sun visor does not stay in place, falling in field of vision, causing an obstruction of visibility.

T he drivers side sun visor started falling down obstructing vision. It falls regardless of speed condition of road of weather. It is a real safety hazard because it blocks the drivers vision.

Honda has a problem with sun visors in 2006 honda cr-vs.the sun visors sag down and obstruct the drivers vision causing safety issues.you are not able to see traffic lights or traffic signs when sun visors sag down.many owners have had these visors replaced by honda up to 4 and 5 times and each new visor fails within weeks or months.owners are reporting the problems in popular automotive forums on the web.the visors in my 2006 cr-v have been replaced 4 times and the 4th set just failed again.honda has no explanation each time.i am calling honda's corporate office today.

Drivers side visor will not stay up, dropping down to block visibility.

Driver's side visor began to sag and finally will not stay up. It is approximately 5 inches from the roof of the vehicle, causing a safety concern. I also hit my head routinely entering and exiting the vehicle. Dealeradvises they are unaware of any pattern of failure with visors on the 2006 crv, and are only aware of problems with visors on civics. I have read blogs showing there are actually numerous reports of failures, and repeated repairs for this problem on the 2006 model. They advise the charge will be $150.00 plus labor to repair the problem.

The driver side sun visor of my 2006 crv sags down into my line of sight. Hitting bumps in the road causes it to sag even lower. This is dangerous for the obvious visibility reason, but could also be dangerous in the event of an accident. Honda started making an upgraded replacement part that shouldn't sag, but failed to update the thousands of vehicles affected. I currently have mine tied up with twine until i can get a replacement visor.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact attempted to roll the front driver sides window down but it failed to open. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 110,000. The vin was unavailable.

Sun visor failure. This is a safety issue as it will no longer fold up or fold away. This causes a visual hazard and seems like a design flaw that has affected every cr-v and accords eventually. Timing seems to depend on the # of times the visor is flipped, & thats why the passenger side is noted less often (flipped less frequently). There are many online video fixes (youtube), but as there are many online blogs reporting this problem & is clearly a visual hazard i think this needs to be addressed by honda & ntsb.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the sun visor would not remain secured in an upright position. The contact did not taken the vehicle to the dealer for inspection but she did purchase a replacement visor and repaired the vehicle herself. The failure later recurred. The manufacturer was notified but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 40,000.

The sun visor on the driver's side is stuck, and will not go all the way in the "up" position. The visor is therefore stuck in a position where it bumps against the driver's forehead. T has been this way for over a year.

I was driving and pulled down my sun visor as the sun was in my eyes. When i went to return it to position it kept falling down into my view of the road. I had just started a 1500 mile trip and it turned into a real safety hazard as it kept falling down blocking my view.

For months, sun visor hung low, not blocking visibility, but it would not return to normal, upright position. Eventually had a complete failure of visor where it neither closes nor blocks sun, merely hangs and causes visibility issues. Because of its position, it also regularly hits my head if exiting vehicle or leaning forward for any reason. Honda recalled many civics for this reason but have done nothing to repair cr-vs.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he smelled a burning odor. He attempted to engage the driver side power window switch but the window would not open and sparks were seen coming from the switch. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the driver side power window switch was melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number: 11v456000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 90,000. The vin was unavailable. Updated 11/16/11

I have a 2006 honda crv, bought new from leesburg honda. On feb 18,2007 i left car in their repair shop because windshield wipers stopped working. Feb 20 i picked up car, no repair made. They claim it needs a new wiper transmission, that none are available for now, and that it is not a warranty item.i think it should be a warranty item & called honda to complain and was given case # n012007-02-2100228. From local and national honda i still do not have a date for repair or a decision as to why it was turned down for warranty claim.

I kept loosing air in my tires. Went to the tire shop and they said i had a cracked wheel. Quite a few honda crv's coming in with this problem. Went to the honda dealership and they wanted 288.00 for 1 wheel. Talked to the manager about a recall, he said no but he would give the wheel to me at cost. 188.00. That this was a common occurrencei ask about the other wheels on my vehicle and he said just wait for them to crack and then replace them. Couldn't relax driving my vehicle anymore because wonder if i was driving on the freeway when this happened. I traded my vehicle in on a new vw, but worry about the person who may buy it, and all the other crv's with defective wheels on the road. I loved my honda and it looked like a new car and was paid for.

Air leaks from the rim of wheels (steel - at weld points?). At least two so far. Honda dealership says out of warranty, out of luck. 2006 honda crv.

I am not sure if you can help me.however, my complaint is with desert honda of las vegas, nv (702) 369-3099.i took my 2006 honda crv for major service, and they did not properly tighten the left lug nuts on my vehicle.i was able to catch this oversight in time before i drove the car any distance.however, this was a potentially fatal mistake that they shrugged off, and i'm sure have forgotten by now.

2006 honda crv with cracked tire rim. Consumer stated that the tire would not hold air. When it was inspected the mechanic stated that the weld was cracked causing an air leak and that this is a familiar problem on that vehicle.
