Honda issued a recall in march 2020 for repair of a airbag inflator.this recall stated that it was dangerous to drive my car and that the problem with the airbag could result in fatality to me or my passengers.it is now july 4, 2020 and there are still not parts available to fix the problem so i cannot make an appointment to have it fixed.i called honda customer service on june 29, 2020 and was told that i would need to just wait.it says on the honda website that a rental car will be provided if parts are temporarily not available to fix a problem but they refused to do that.i think it is unacceptable that it has been 4 months since a problem was recognized, no parts are available to fix the problem, and honda will not provide a rental car even though they state that using my car could result in death.

Recalls by vin.is my car to old for being fixed by honda

I received a recall notice in the mail from honda in february of 2020. The recall notice states that my 2001 honda crv is unsafe to drive. I have been in contact with honda since march 9, 2020 and they have not offered a solution, updates, or information concerning this. I have been told by two employees that the part to fix this issue is not available and is no longer manufactured at this time. One employee went so far as to tell me that it is not an issue and my vehicle is not unsafe. This is untrue. The recall notice states, "due to a manufacturing issue, the inflator inside the driver frontal airbag module may absorb moisture, which may cause the driver frontal airbag to malfunction in a crash where the airbag deploys. The airbag could under-inflate during deployment, increasing the risk of injury to the driver. The airbag inflator could also rupture during deployment, with metal fragments possibly striking the driver or passengers, increasing the risk of serious injury or death." they also refuse to give a deadline for this issue to be resolved by. I am writing this complaint as of august 8,2020 whilst sitting here with honda on the phone.

And to call back in a few months. I called honda at 1-888-234-2138 in july 2020. They again told me no airbags were available and that i would be getting a follow up letter. Called again in august. Still nothing from honda on this recall. They have been ignoring me.

March 3, 2020 i was sent an initial recall notice on my 2001 crv. As the original owner i have been driving a car with an airbagdeemed dangerous by honda. They waited 19 years to do an initial recall. On march 24,2020 i called a local dealer and then called them again on april 27, 2020. Both times they informed me the replacement part is not available. On april 30, 2020 sent a complaint to the new york state attorney general's office regarding same. Called honda customer support on may 4, 2020 and they politely informed me that the replacement parts haven't been built yet. Everyone is telling me to be patient. The problem is that i am a senior citizen and an essential worker during the pandemic and need to use my vehicle to commute to work, to continue to serve the public. The danger of even the slightest crash meaning my death by "metal fragments" flying if the airbag deploys is quite unnerving to say the least. Please help.

I looked up my vin i'd to see it had a air bag recall. I then call my local honda dealer to see when i could take vehicle in for the recall. They stated bring it ant time. I also received a 'safety recall notice' from honda. On 10/27/2020 i took the vehicle to have the air bag replaced. As it turn out on the paper work when contacted to pick up the vehicle it stated 'air bag inspection complete'. I later called the dealer to find out that it was not replaced but only inspected. This was done by honda spreen. Is inspection only correct or replacement correct. Should the recall have replaced the actual device. Does this recall cover both driver and passenger side air bag on this vehicle?

March 2020 i received the nhtsa recall 20v-027 and have followed-up several times with east coast honda, myrtle beach, sc for a repair appointment. Each time i have been told that the parts are not available.however, this internet link advises that parts are available: https://www.consumerreports.org/recalls/will-the-takata-airbag-recall-ever-end/ around june 2020 i noticed that my ****** srs indicator light stays on the whole time the car is running and i'm concerned that the srs system will not function properly and/or injur the driver. ***** these repairs must be expedited!

I have a honda cr-v that was issued a safety recall on it's airbags back in early march of 2020. In the recall it was stated that there was no fix for the problem, and they would update me when there was one. I have not had communication with honda since the initial recall letter. In the letter, it was stated that if i had not been updated on the status of the recall after 30 days, i should file a complaint with the nhtsa. After doing some research, it appears that there is still no solution for this particularly dangerous recall, and it has now been several months since the initial recall notice. I'm not in a position to go out and buy a new car, given the crisis the world is currently facing. I still use this car to get to and from work (albeit very cautiously), though, i am not comfortable having any passengers in the vehicle at this time.this seems unreasonable of honda to ask their faithful consumers (this is my second honda) to drive a vehicle with what is essentially a grenade strapped to the steering wheel, with no remedy available within the near future.

Air bags recalled and unsafe. Have received no remedy from honda since original letter was sent in march of 2020.

Vehicle was involved in a collision and the air bags did not deploy.

While driving my honda crv ex at aprox 50 mph i rear-ended a small light weight truck traveling aprox 35 mph. In a vain attempt to avoid the collision i slammed on the brakes and turned the wheel of my crv hard to the right. The rubber bumper of the truck and my front left lights and hood took the impact.my complaint is that the airbag in my crv did not deploy and i severely injured my right shoulder, neck and back. I also injured my right foot. Knee and hit my head on the steering wheel.my insurance adjuster is saying that my crv needed to be hit directly on the rubber bumper in order to deploy; so the existing airbag is fine and will not be replaced. The body shop concurs though the firemen at the seendisconnected the airbag while the emts were removing me from the vehicle stating that since the airbag did not deploy on impact, it could, in fact deploy at any time in the future without provocation.after discussing the situation with individuals who've owned and operated body shops for many, many years, they and i feel that the existing airbag is somehow defective. The vehicle has not been in an accident until now.

Car starts without key when remote lock is used after driving.does not have keyless start. Sometimes the headlights turn on also other times its just the engine.you have to put the key in the ignition and shift the gear to turn off.this has happened at least 10 times over the years.i took it to a honda dealer and they told me it was impossible, could not happen andi was mistaken.i do have a video of one incident.

While driving my honda on the freeway two days after a heavy rain,i smelled a nauseating burning odor. I pressed the power window switch to lower windows. The passenger side front window stopped working. This had occurred some time ago with the driver side rear window. I checked honda recalls and there is one that matches exactly my circumstances, 12-067, but my vin is not eligible.the recall states that water can damage the power window switch, create a short circuit and melt connectors, possibly causing a fire. Tipton honda, el cajon ca, technician found master switch internal circuit damage and unplugged it .he would have replaced it but tipton did not have the necessary parts. Not sure if the burning connectors constitute "a fire" or not.

While drving the vehicle, the engine just quits. Sometimes it will stutter and quit and restart, or i will put it in neutral while coasting and restart. There are no engine codes for this problem.

The car stalls all of a sudden. If you turn the ignition switch to start, it starts right back up with no problems. It happened 3 times already. Good thing i wasnt driving on the highway. Last time it happened was july 31 2017.

The major negative ground wire located close to the battery was not securely bolted to the body causing the vehicle not to start on several occasions and on one occasion the vehicle died while driving.nlm

Our car had a burnt valve last year at about 90000 miles. We brought it to a napa machine shop and had it re-machined. About a month ago we had it repaired at our local honda dealer. They readjusted the valves which they said were way too tight. The car is stalling again and is difficult to restart. They referenced honda technical bulletin 03-038. In researching this via google, it appears honda failed to advise american-but not european-customers of a valve adjustment need that results in valves receding into the cylinder heads.

Leaving my house came to stop sign car shut off in road. Timing belt broke for the 2 time.also drivers window won't work 2 motors in it and still nothing and sunroof won't open. Only 2 owners and car been well kept oil on time. And there something making belts go bad. *pm

On about april, 2009 in our 2001 honda crv , with 68,000 miles on it. My wife was 60 miles from home when the air conditional blew up. The air compress, reciver dryer, belt all came to $1,600. I asked around and found out that a lot of crv's ac where blowing up. This site showes a lot of other people with this problem. Http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=utf-8&rlz=1t4gwya_enus311us311&q=2001+honda+crv+ac+blowing+up.

At 72,000 miles my crv blew 2 head gaskets thus requiring an engine overhaul. The dealer informed me that they have been getting a few vehicles with the same problem. However, problems are not under warranty. At 144,000 miles it required a catalyctic converter because it clogged.. However, i was noticing a weird sound under the car at 130,000. And before that it did not feel as powerful when going up inclines. My mechanic said that they are getting a lot of vehicles of the same model with the catalictic converter problem and as a matter of fact he had one crv this past week in which he had to change the converter. Unfortunately, where i reside emmisions inspection is not required. Maybe, if we did, the problem with the catalyctic converter would had been noticed if it had failed the emmissions test. Please help!

Air conditioning compressor imploded.

Honda has a service bulletin (03-038) for a known issue with the cylinder head. In searching online, many honda customers with cr-v's manufactured in 2001 have experienced this issue.the remedy (as defined by honda) is to adjust the valves to specific clearances during routine maintenance, but this information was not passed down to customers & many are finding themselves in my same situation with the entire cylinder head needing to be replaced.a costly repair for a faulty part.honda is aware of this & is unwilling to cover the repair.

Honda cr-v motor valves defect or recall.

Ac compressor started rattling sound. Went to the honda dealer and found out problem with the compressor. Replaced by dealer with full labor and 1/2 parts paid byhonda.

Check engine came on at 76,000 miles. According to dealer the exhaust vales burnt into cylinder head, #4 cylinder was at 25 psi. According to dealer this happen before to this vehicle.

My vehicle stalls out, has rough idle, and misfires.it first started to happen only when the engine was cold.once it warmed up it was fine.it progressively got worse.dealer advised me to get a complete tune-up and said it would fix the problem.unfortunately, this was only a temporary fix.it started again when the engine was cold and then at all times.the dealer seemed to be perplexed by the whole thing and advised me again to do a tune-up.once again, problem was fixed for awhile.this last time it went downhill quickly.when engine was cold and then stalling and dying at anytime no matter what the conditions were.the mil light came on everytime i had this problem.honda now tells me i have low compression in cylinder #3and my car misfires.they advised me to have the head sent to their machine shop to inspect it.nothing was done to correct the failure as of yet.i have found many other complaints. Honda corp. Knows about the head problem.my own research found valves need to be adjusted/inspected regularly because they have a tendency to tighten which leads and/or results in the valve receding into the cylinder/burnt valve.i am very upset due to the fact that honda has known about this and they have never told me anything about the valves.the dealer still never disclosed this known problem while having me paying over $1000.00 just to start on the repair.in the car manualit states you only need to inspect the valves every 105,000 miles or if you hear a noise.there was absolutely no noise from my valves.they should be checkedmore like every 25,000-30,000 miles.this is a huge safety issue to have your car die or stall.i asked honda about the valve. Now the same people seem to know a lot.at this moment, american honda corp.is offering me a goodwill warranty repair of 25% torepair it, but the case is not settled.i have been lied to, deceived, ripped off, and most of all my safety was put into danger willingly.

A/c compressor for a 2001 honda cr-v.first went out in july 2007; end result was that i was responsible for the parts and honda america footed the bill for labor based on the fact that it is a common problem for all cr-vs but was not recalled.it is now september 2008 and the exact same problem has occurred again.a faulty compressor is absurd after 1year of service.

2001 honda crv, air-conditioner getting ready to explode.i live in southern california, but live in balmy san diego county, so i've used the air conditioner very little, perhaps 25 times all told over the past nine years.i am the original owner, baby my car, and get all maintenance done like clockwork or sooner.about three months ago, the rarely-used air conditioner started making a horrible racket immediately on starting it.i stopped using it immediately, and check periodically to see if it's still broken.it is.i've researched the issue and was stunned to find so many other complaints about the 1997-2001 crv air conditioners exploding, imploding, or otherwise self-destructing.i've repeatedly contacted via email and voicemail the law firm of mazie slater katz & freeman in roseland, new jersey who is handling a class action on this very issue, the honda a/c design defects.both attorneys matthew mendelson and karen kelson are far, far too busy with their busy days to return voicemails and emails, so i'm assuming they're only in it for the fees of the class action, rather than providing any tangible solutions to this problem for consumers, much like honda itself response to this problem:ignore it.maybe it will go away.i'm disgusted with both firms at this point.otherwise my car is in fine shape, i'm very pleased with it and it's very likely the best car i've ever owned.however, this glaring problem, when it ripens as it has for countless other honda drivers, could destroy my engine, and frankly i don't have that kind of money to fix it.living in southern california, such an event would shut down my life across the board.i would very much appreciate it if honda actually did what adults do, take charge, take responsibility for their design defects with regard to this component, issue an apology, and we can all get on with our lives.as far as the mazie katz law firm, i think their actions speak for themselves.

With out any warning the radiatorcracked and had to be replaced. Auto repair said it was a common problem with honda. New models are being replaced but not earlier models. Why is honda not forced to recall these with so many cars needing costly repairs.?

Dt*:the contact stated the engine idled erratically intermittently while slowing down at various speeds.the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop, where the valve was replaced at 99,000 miles.at 134,000 miles the check engine light illuminated upon initial acceleration.the vehicle was returned to the mechanic, who determined there was a problem with the engine head.the valve melted into the number 3 cylinder.the engine head needs to be replaced.there is a nhtsa action number 10008524 for the engine.

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v. He stated that intermittently while driving the engine warning light illuminated on the instrument control panel then the engine misfired. The vehicle was towed to a local repair facility. The mechanic concluded that the engine valves burned and the engine needed to be rebuilt. The manufacturer was notified, and a representative concluded that they were aware of the problem; however, sincethe warranty expired they would not provide any assistance. No repairs have been made. The vehicle identification number was unavailable. The failure mileage was 55000. The current mileage was 135000.

My 2001 honda crv had to have the cylinder head replaced after a flashing engine light came on.a honda dealer stated there was low compression in the #3 cylinder. The repair was to replace the cylinder head (at>3200$).i found that this is a common problem with 1999-2001 honda crvs. I now have at least 5 substantiated cases (my own, a colleague who owns a 1999 crv and, the complaint numbers on your site 10062616, 10124224, 10143720). There are also many unsubstantiated but identical claims on multiple websites that imply a fairly widespread manufacturers defect leading to this problem.the symptoms are the same.honda appears to know of this defect as evidenced by their own tsb #03-038 that states the problem and repair.i asked honda for a goodwill warranty (there is some precedence for this by honda). I was told i would need complete service records ....these were provided. These records include a 60,000 mi service including a timing belt replacement that was done just the summer before (my vehicle had 82000 mi at the time of the engine failure). I was then told to contact honda customer service to file a complaint where eventually i was told by honda that they would not provide any assistance. The reason was that i did not get valve adjustments at the time of my 60000 mi service. These are hydraulic valves and according to my own mechanic and verified by another mechanic, this is not standard practice. This 'valve adjustment' recommendation is also not part of the mitchell oem recommendations also that were followed by my mechanic (tsb 03-038 is also not included). The outcome was to take my vehicle from honda where they did not support their product despite what appears to be a known and widespread defect and bring it to my own mechanic. I have retained the part that appears to have caused much of the problem (damaged exhaust valve). I strongly suggest there be an inquiry into this problem and reimbursement for all costs associated with this repair.

Check engine light came on to my 2001 honda cr-v.identified as a misfire in cyl #1, and low compression in that cylinder.the head was removed, and one of the exhaust valves in the #1 cylinder was burned.the valve clearance on that cylinder was zero.a "valve job" was done and the engine was reassembled.cost was $1450.

2001 honda crv started to have a rough idle followed by the check engine light turning on approximately one year ago. Took the vehicle in for a tune up at a local dealer and problem temporarily went away. Recently the problem got worse and the check engine light came back on. The honda dealer evaluated the check engine light reported that there was a problem with the valves. I had the dealer conduct a valve adjustment and they reported that compression on the #3 cylinder only reported 45 psi and recommended replacing the cylinder head at a cost of $4500 dollars. The service representative the honda dealership was aware of problems with the honda crv and honda has not taken any responsibility for the problem nor offered to repair the problem. I believe honda has been aware of problems with the 2001 honda crv. Request the nhtsb conduct an investigation.

Honda crv 2001, air conditioner problems .during an oil change, the consumer was informed that the engine oil dip stick container had detached from the motor and broken at the engine block. The consumer was told the oil dip stick had been tampered with and was not covered under warranty.

2001 honda cr-v.car stalls while idling.risk of being rear-ended when it occurs at a signal and the light turns green, or if i am in the #1 lane waiting to make a left-turn.honda corp. Is aware that their 99-01 cr-v models have cylinder head problems that cause this, but they are not offering to cover the $3000 needed to replace the cylinder head.

2001 honda cr-v se check engine light went on, idle became extremely rough and stalling while driving.nothing unusual preceded this incident.took the car into to be diagnosed and was told the 4th cylinder was only holding 15-20% of required pressure, it had gone soft.researched issue and found honda has issued a technical service bulletin #03038 regarding this problem.it is a known defect in the honda cr-v as the honda maintenance guide does not recommend any valve maintenance until 105,000 miles.however, it has been found that the engine's high compression rate causes the valves to warp and become soft unless they are adjusted every 30,000-35,000 miles.have been in contact with honda and all they are willing to do is split the cost 50/50 of this major repair, over $3,000.they are many documented cases of this occurring with the 1999-2001 honda cr-vs that use the b210z engine.

Rough idle, engine would stumble but recover several times when idling before fully warmed up, poor fuel mileage. No mil (check engine light), and no codes or pending codes detected. Dealer tested and strongly recommended valve adjustment. Only 63k miles on it and valves were not noisy. Owner's manual states, "adjust valves at 105, 000 miles or if noisy".neither were true. I researched cr-v message boards and found lots of "1st gen." cr-v's (mainly from '99 to '01) were having problem whereby some valve seats were receding into cylinder head causing need for premature valve adjustments, burnt exhaust valves, or some even needing to replace cylinder head. Most people who had the more severe problems also experienced mil lighting up & code indicating engine misfire. I called american honda corp several times. The 1st time was like pulling teeth to get them to admit they knew about this issue, and the corresponding tsb (service bulletin) sent to dealers. They finally admitted it. But after reviewing my case twice, both times they refused to reimburse me for the valve adjustment. They claimed: 1) dealers are franchised & have nothing to do with them, 2) it's a machine, and machines need adjusting from time to time, 3) i didn't purchase extended warranty so they can't help me, 4) maintenance schedule in the owner's manual is just a general guideline, valves should be adjusted sooner, and 5) should i require cylinder head replacement in the future, they might offer me some kind of restitution, but no guarantees. Engine runs fine now after valve adjustment, but who's to say in another 10 to 30k it won't need it again, perhaps only to find out it's too far out of spec & will need new cyl. Head! it's printed clearly, in black & white in owner's manual: "adjust valves at 105,000 miles or if noisy". Perhaps we should start class action suit against honda. They need to stand behind their product, redesign the cyl. Heads and do a recall! buyers beware!

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v.the contact attempted to start the vehicle and it stalled.she depressed the accelerator pedal all the way down to the floor to restart the vehicle.the vehicle restarted after two to three attempts.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who adjusted the heads in the engine.the contact stated that she was not notified of the technical service bulletin regarding the engine.the engine size was unknown.the current mileage is 109,000 and failure mileage was 96,000.

I've had two valve jobs done on my 2001 crv, once at around 45,000 miles and than again at 95,000 both times it was the number 3 valve that had to be replaced.the owner's manual i have indicates that the valves need to be adjusted at 105,000 miles but according to the dealer where i had the work done it needs to be done every 15,000 miles.i find that this type of maintenance on a non-performance car ridiculous not to mention expensive and time consuming.

Events leading up to failure: engine running poorfailure: burnt valves, lost 1 cylinder, 2 valvescorrection: rebuilt head and do valve adjustments sooner than maintenance records require and $1,500 in repairs plus rental car costs.

2001 honda crv engine valves misfired and burned in 2003 and again in 2006. Repair appears costly and i believe this problem has been documented as a recurring issue amongst the 1999-2001 crv vehicles. I am dismayed to hear that this repair may cost $4400 and the honda dealer thus has quoted american honda as saying they will not pay. I understand that service bulletin #03-038 addresses this issue and i don't feel it is acceptable for the consumer to pay for this repair.

Honda 2001 a/c compressor blown, metal filings in system causing evaporator and other parts to need replacing.

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v.after accelerating from a stop light, while driving 20 mph, the contact activated the air conditioner.he then heard a loud explosion and noticed fumes rising from under the hood.he pulled to the side of the road, opened the hood, and noticed that the air conditioner compressor had ruptured to the point that only half remained.he collected a few pieces from inside the engine compartment and had the vehicle towed to a local dealer.the dealer stated that they were aware of the defect and advised the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer for a repair estimate.the repairs would cost $1,631.the manufacturer assigned him a case number so that one of their engineers could identify the defect.after several weeks, no one called the contact back.he called the manufacturer and they assigned his case to another engineer, in which now they do not feel it was a defect.they believe that the contact is responsible for the air conditioner compressor rupturing.the vehicle is currently at the dealer and has been there for ten days.no repairs have been made.the failure and current mileages were 102,000.

My wife purchased a 2001 honda crv.on august 2, 2003 while driving the car with our family (wife and 2 small children) front passenger tire went flat.i used the jack with the car to change the tire.i first loosened the lug nuts on the ground.i raised the car with the jack.while taking off the tire - the jack collapsed causing the car to fall.this was dangerous and thank god nobody got hurt!the jack was damaged (it is tilted to one side).when i raised the car it was on asphalt and flat ground.i contacted honda usa directly per my dealer's instructions.i am worried that this jack was designed poorly and/or was defective.honda replied that they would not do anything.their response was that i should just buy another jack from them.this is a very dangerous issue.i am very troubled by their lack of concern.they would not even issue me a new jack under the warranty as the car had 42,000 (6k miles over the warranty).i find this troubling too, how would i know the jack was defective until i used it.this was the first time i used it.i am very disappointed and concerned about honda's lack of care and responsibility.

The contact owns a 2006 honda cr-v. The contact stated that both the driver and passenger side headlights malfunctioned. The contact replaced both but they failed again. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

I have noticed that the polymer headlight outer surface/lens of my 2001 honda crv has started to discolor/haze/craze thus reducing the illumination of the road way. I have noticed this same condition with numerous other vehicles both foreign and domestic. Is there a requirement that the materials used for headlight lenses ( as well as the internal reflectors ) be able to remain clear for any particular number of years/mileage? should dealers/service shops/smog check shops/law enforcement agencies/etc. Monitor vehicles and notify the drivers/owners that the lenses have deteriorated to a degree that they may be considered a safety hazard and should/must be replaced? if there are certification of durability/minimum useful lifetime requirements placed on equipment/vehicle manufacturers; and these lenses are not meeting them, should dealers etc. Be required to replace them with more durable versions? a suggested investigative starting point would be to look at your own headlight lenses and those of other vehicles you pass on the roads.

1.initially, the remote door lock for driver side door started making a buzzing noise, but it still worked.2.the interior door handle lever (plastic with a hard plastic coating) to the driver's door broke off..and caused several cuts to my hand...but...it was still possible to open the door by applying pressure to the stub of the lever.3. The remote door entry lock (to the driver door) stopped working, but it was still possible to lock and unlock the door with the key.4.today, it is impossible to open the driver's door with the key or with the remains of the interior door lever or by any other means that i can figure out. This is a very unsafe situation caused by the failure of several components that should last longer than they have.

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v. The contact stated the drivers side door failed to unlock. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 100,000.

My wife and i have a 2001 honda cr-v.within the span of a few months, the door locks on all four doors malfunctioned and broke.the lock on the front passenger-side door broke in a position that prevents the passenger from being able to open the door, which is a safety concern for us.our dealership informed us that it would cost over $300 per lock for repair.we have not yet had the front passenger-side lock fixed due to the cost, so the lock is still broken.we have also not yet had the lock on either rear door replaced, also due to the cost.

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v. After coming to a complete stop and while accelerating, the vehicle shook. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and a transmission flush was performed. The contact was notified there were no service bulletins or recalls regarding the failure. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and another transmission flush was performed. The failure continued to occur and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact also mentioned that the engine light would intermittently illuminate. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was instructed to take the vehicle back to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was notified of a service bulletin; however, the number was not available. The dealer informed the contact that the service bulletin expired in 2005 and could not be performed. The contact owns a 2001 honda crv.the contact stated that the transmission would not go into park.he has contacted the manufacturer and they said that there was a recall on the 2002 crv but not the 2001.the failure is getting progressively worse.the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure mileage was 95,000.the current mileage was 105,000.

The back tire locked up in a curve and caused a head on collision.i feel this problem came from a clutch failure.what further supports my theory is the fact that the clutch assembly fell apart and the timing chain was broken.the back tire had temporarily halted as i made it through the clutches on 2 occasions prior to my crash.

My problem is that when you prepare to come to a stop, press the clutch and brake, the car will die. No warning at all. The rpm's will just dive to 0 and it dies. When it first began, i kept a detail log of weather, length of trip, everything i could think of and each time it died, it blew another idea out of the water. Nothing seemed to coordinate from time to time. I have had it in about 4 times total into two different honda dealers and niether of them have been able to duplicate the stall. Therefore, they can't find nor fix the problem.

Not all honda makes are reliable... With this new honda vehicle i've experienced bad paint, leaking cargo, bubbles on pilar, weather strips coming apart, & espeically rear seatbelt missing.not all janpanese cars are reliable!!!! especially american honda's rep in ca gave the most unpleasant & disgusting experience.

While traveling at 50 mphand slowing down a 18 wheeler rear ended consumer's vehicle, causing seat to fall backwards, resulting inpoor visibility. Please provide further informtion.

I have a 2001 honda crv.the brackets that hold the front seats to the floor are getting very rusty.i questioned the honda dealer, and they said it was nothing to worry about. I'm concerned if in an accident, the seat is weakened by the rust and the seat will break off.what can be done about this situation?thanks.

While attempting a hard stop during a sudden traffic light change to yellow, the brake pedal went to the floor and the car experienced an extended stopping distance. The car finally came to a stop about 10 feet beyond the stop line.

- the contact stated that on 12/29/06 while driving on a clear day at 70 mph she hit the back of another vehicle. The contact stated that vehicle in front of her appliedthebrakes and she did the same thing.the contact stated that theabsbrakes didn't properly work and she hit the back of the other vehicle.the contact stated that when she applied the brakes they failed ,and the pedal went to the floor without resistance.the contact smell edsmoke and rubber. The contact stated that the police was called, and while waiting for a police office she did applythe foot to the brakes and the pedal was stuck in the same position from the crash.after the police took the report, theystarted the vehicle and the brakes did go back to its proper position.ak

I have a 2001 honda crv se 4wd with 63k miles.three years ago at 30k miles the steering wheel started to make some kind of rubbing noise when pulling out of parking.it sounded like metal touching metal. I brought it back to poway honda dealer but they refused to take it seriously because they were not able to reproduce the problem.i've been having this noise ever since.

In owner's manual it states to adjust the steering wheel so that the wheel points toward the chest and not toward the face due to protection from the airbag, however consumer is 5 feet 6 inches tall and would have to be 3-4 inches taller in order to have the steering wheel point toward his chest, a rep from american honda suggested to have the dealer to modify the seat, but this would void the warranty.

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v. The contact stated the drivers side door failed to unlock. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2001 honda crv. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds and attempting a left turn, the front driver's side lower ball joint fractured, causing the wheel to buckle under. The contact was able to get to the side of the road. The vehicle was later towed to the contact's home. The contact stated that he would repair the driver's side lower ball joint himself. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 104,000.

I have owned a 2001 crv honda 4wd or real timefor less than one year this is the first full winter in rural northern michigan with this automobile and let me add this winter was mild compared to most.i have had two rollovers with this automobile withinthe last 8weeks the first in december and the second in feb 02 at first i did except the rollover with road conditions and all but after the second i cannot,i have learned now that thisso called suv is sold and was sold to me as a 4wd all time but it is infact not. I have learned also why i would just loose control it is a automatic spin and roll and you have no control this is because the real time 4wd is not 4wd the four wheel drive kicks in when sensors detect that the front wheels are spinning, losing traction, then the crv revert to front wheel drive the more the front wheels slip, the more the rear wheels kick in which causes you to spin out of control, this has happend on black ice twice no speeding tickets and no at fault tickets for the driver if that tells you anything. I am 32 and have to had a accident in 13years my insurance has doubled, this has caused injuriesand it is hard to bring myself to drive without crying. I am so scared they are going to fix and give me this car back i cannot put myself or my children it this death trap. Thissuv is not fit fora rural areas or any kind of driving other than on dry warm pavement only.

Ac compressor exploded sending pieces of metal right by the cooling system.we had just started the car and the fan kicked in and that's when it happened

My 2001 honda cr-v air conditioning compressor imploded and sent shards of metal into the air conditioning system. This was without warning, as i just had my air conditioning serviced by the honda dealership a month ago. I have discovered that this is a widespread problem with honda cr-vs and that honda america has not addressed this major defect. I am especially concerned because i live in arizona, and the temperature is 108 degrees, with 113 predicted for the weekend. This makes the defect very dangerous. I am part of a non-profit rescue group and regularly transport pets; this could have been deadly if it happened with baby kittens or puppies in the car. The honda service shot said they talked with the honda america representative and that he would not cover any of the repairs, despite it being a widespread defect and despite the fact that there is a lawsuit pending for this defect. The repair was extremely expensive, and again, i just had the air conditioning system serviced at the same honda service shop that i have been using for the past 5 years. I have maintained this vehicle well and have all service records. The cr-v is a dangerous vehicle because of this defect, particularly for people living in states with extreme heat.

I was wondering if it was mandatory for cars to indicate whether or not all doors are closed on their dashboards. On thehonda 2001 crv it is impossible to tell is a door is securely shut because there is no indicator. This i believe is a safety hazard and i would like it to be investigated or even recalled.
