Got a notice about the recall in march 2020 and i mailed in the response as requered have not heard anything back still, wonder when i will hear something
Takata recall. I received the first recall in mar 2016. Dealer keeps saying they have no parts. Now i get the second recall for the pass side airbag. Same thing...no parts. It has been over 60 days since receiving nhtsa recall 16v-061. This is too long on this serious defect which can be life threatening. Help.
Consumer was involved in an accident, the airbags deployed, however consumer states they did not perform as designed, when both airbags deployed they were the size of popcorn bags, in which they did not protect consumer, he received second and third degree chemical burns.

Honda has not remedied their airbag recall after 7 months, which seems like plentty of time.
The srs (air bag) light in my 1997 honda crv has been on for last 4 years. I have taken it to different dealers during this time. They initially just reset the light. Later they suspected one of the sensors. Even later one of dealer changed the battery. Finally they have declared that the srs controller unit must be bad and should be changed at the cost of $825. I have contacted america honda corp but to no help. From the independent maintenance shop where i took my car i have learned that it is a common problem in crv. Air bag are essential safety equipment and should carry longer warranty. Honda diagnostic doesn't seem to give definite code also and hence the dealers can't fix it in one shot and have given me so many runs and now will cost me so much. I believe honda should live up to their responsibility and investigate the srs problem.
While driving air bag light (srs) illuminated.dealership reset the electrical srs module three time at consumer's expense of $90.00 each time. Dealer indicated there was no tbs or recall on this component.

I received a letter in march saying there is an airbag recall and i would be notified when the parts were ready. I have since received estimated three robo-calls saying my vehicle was recalled due to a dangerous airbag issue and to contact a dealer or honda headquarters. I contacted the dealer who said there is no part yet and not to worry . I am concerned and annoyed about these alarming notifications about an important, maybe critical, yet there is no part. This is much longer than a reasonable amount of time.
During normal operation of the vehicle,"srs" warning light on the instrument panel will illuminate and stay on.dealership has examinedvehicle, and replacedsrs unit due to an unknown failure.please provide any additional information / documentation.
The vehicles air bag light illuminated and stayed on.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the problem required a costly repair.the consumer contacted the manufacturer who advised the consumer to take the car back to the dealer for a diagnostic test.the vehicle was returned for the test where it was discovered that the repair was not as costly as initially stated and that only a minor adjustment was needed. Shortly after that adjustment the air bag light illuminated again.*nlm *scc

An airbag safety recall was issued to me on march 2020. I've contacted autonation, sanford, fl monthly since receiving the recall notice. Their service department has repeatedly delayed repair stating the part was not available. My high school senior has been driving this vehicle for four months with a safety defect. What can you do to resolve this safety issue?

On june 29, 2004, my wife was involved in a minor fender bender in burbank. This was a low-speed, rear-end collision that should have resulted in both drivers exchanging insurance information and going their separate ways. Instead, i received an hysterical phone call from my wife, who was being treated by paramedics for severe shock and burns to her face and arms.we spent the next 6 hours in the emergency room at st. Josephs hospital. The sole cause of these injuries was the improper deployment of both airbags in her 1997 honda cr-v.immediately following the accident, paramedics thought her nose might have been broken by the deploying airbag, which had also caused abrasions on her face and lacerations inside her mouth. This morning, she is being treated at the grossman burn center, in van nuys, and we have just learned that she may have to undergo surgery for a skin graft on her right hand.after speaking with several attorneys on the subject, i have learned that automakers, such as american honda, make it all but impossible to obtain legal representation for any potential lawsuit by simply makingit too expensive to sue. Law firms are not willing to invest the $50k to $100k required for this kind of litigation unless there is the potential for a six-figure award. Since my wifes wounds will eventually heal, with some scarring to her arms, any award in a jury trial would probably not meet that standard. For that reason, lawyers wont consider taking on her case. It appears to be common practice for automakers to install airbags that routinely deploy in low-speed collisions. It also seems to be common practice for those same automakers to ignore people who have been injured in these otherwise minor mishaps, and provide zero compensation for the pain and suffering victims haveendured.
Consumer was stopped when a vehicle from the rear crashed into the vehicle, airbag deployed violently, it pushed the driver back with force, causing seat back to collapse, resulting in mulitple injuries.

Ignition switch for a 1997 honda crv without warning or any indication the car will stop this is a dangerous situation driving on any road today. Honda should have acknowledge way before it ever got started.
My 1997 honda cr-v is cutting off 5 or more times a day, going down the free way,in mid turns, while setting still, it is a very huge concern of mine for the safety of my 3 children and i. Everytime i need to roll my windows up to have to turn the ignition switch a notch further than needed...almost starting it again for it to register..on the middle notch the dash lights won't even turn on..and when it's going to cut off the gauges go haywire...and i checked my vin # but no recalls but for the year make model there is...
My cr-v will stop running suddenly and without warning. I found that other cr-v's had a recall for the ignition switch which is exactly the same as what my car has.(a faulty ignition switch. Even though the car has 200500 miles it has been garage kept and serviced regularly and is in excellent condition. It seems that my car having the exact same symptoms of the same year ignition switch recalls should be covered as well. While driving anywhere between 30 and 55 m.p.h. The car stalls because engine stops running without any warning. I put it into neutral and it starts right back up. It will keep doing the exact same thing once or twice a week now. It started out once or twice a month.
While driving, the vehicle electrical system and engine shuts down including the dash lights, creating a dangerous driving situation.
The contact owns a 1997 honda cr-v. The contact stated that when she placed the ignition key into the ignition switch and turned it, the vehicle did not start. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The car stalled at 35 mph and then restarted. It does this every once in a while at different speeds, i have read many complaints on the internet about the same problem, i feel this is very dangerous and needs addressed.
The contact owns a 1997 honda cr-v.while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle completely shut down.the failure occurred many times while driving at various speeds.the contact pulled over to the side of the road, shifted, and attempted to restart the vehicle.initially, he would be able to restart the vehicle after 2 or 3 attempts.the failure progressively worsened and took 20-30 attempts to start again and would only drive a few feet afterwards.the failure occurred approximately 20 times; therefore, he stopped using the vehicle.after the contact replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, which did not remedy the issue, the vehicle was towed to the dealer.they stated that the ignition switch failed.the dealer referenced nhtsa campaign id number 02v120000 (electrical system:ignition:switch), but they did not repair the vehicle under the recall.instead, the contact was charged over $300.he spoke with the manufacturer and filed a case.the failure mileage was 125,000 and current mileage was approximately 125,500.
Engine died suddenly at highway speed. After pullover off of roadway, the vechicle was successfully restarted and travel resumed.
Car will stop suddenly while driving at any speed all lights will come on power steering will go out and car will not run i will turn it off and a few minutes later it will start again usually but this last time it stopped and wouldnt start again iv had the battery altogether and starter checked at auto zone and all are strong iv had them run a device on it to see if it has any error codes and it has non they said it was the fuel filter and it wasnt iv changed my main relay and ran fine for 2 days then it stopped again with no warning and that's when it wouldnt start again all lights come on stereo works but car wont turn over
The contact owns a 1997 honda cr-v. Ignition problems
1997 honda crv.consumer writes in regards to reimbursement for ignition switch recall.the consumer stated the vehicle would shut off, while driving.
A recall on the ignition switch was issued; however, in order to repairthe defect.the dealer advised that he would have to disconnect alarm system, and will only reconnect the alarm systemat owner's expense. The defect caused the engine to shut off while driving.the vehicle had to sit for a while before it could be restarted. Both dealers refused to replace the defective ignition switchunless the consumer paid to have the alarm reinstalled.the consumer was told by the dealer not to reinstall the alarm.*nlm
While traveling on the highway without prior warning the vehicle will shut down, the dealership is aware of the problem. Nlmthe engine shut off 13 times due to ignition failure. The ignition was replaced.
The vehicle stalls suddenly for no apparent reason.sometimes when i first start the engine and in idle, the car will suddenly shut off by itself.other times i will be driving on the street and the engine will suddenly stop.sometimes there is an indication that it will stall because moments before it does the rpm guage will drop to zero and go back to where it was before but then the car will stall.other times the engine will just shut off in the middle of the road.we have taken the car to have a diganostic done at the honda dealer and they said there is nothing wrong with it.we have also replaced the computer module and the coils from a private auto mechanic.the car restarts after stalling but it takes up to 5 trys to restart the engine.this is very dangerous because it has stalled on the freeway and in traffic.
Several times the car has stalled with no warning. Most of the time it has been while stopped but yesterday it happened on the highway at normal speed.
Vehicle will stall at random times while driving and also while idle. Typically, there is no warning but in some cases the rpm's will drop and then return to current rate, with the whole engine completely shutting off seconds later. Turn signals, radio, power steering are all disabled. Headlights stay on, emergency flashers still work, and heater, if on, still works as well. It usually takes about 5 or 6 trys to restart the vehicle. In some cases, it will reoccur immediately after continuing to drive.replaced the ignition module and that still did not fix the problem. Problem still occurs presently.

When the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer for a routine oil change, the cap was not tightened properly which caused a significant oil leak.the vehicle failed to start on another occasion, it was determined that the fuel pump failed, which has since failed again.the vehicle had a flat tire, when the consumer went to change the tire, she noticed the vehicle did not have a jack. The timing belt was replaced, however when the consumer proceeded to drive there was a strange noise coming from under the hood, the consumer discovered the belt tensioner was not properly adjusted. The parking brake was adjusted. The transmission did not shift properly, the rear differential fluid was replaced, the right cv boot was leaking and the turn signals did not cancel.
The timing belt broke 2500 miles before first scheduled maintenance causing the car to break down on the freeway, thankfully we were stuck in traffic otherwise the results could have been much worse!the dealer is now telling me i need a new engine for 7000.00 dollars.if i had been told to change the belt sooner i would have done so.i follow the maintenance shcedule in my owners manual because it clearly states that failure to do so can cause injury or even death caused by an accident due to equipment failure.if the manual says 105k miles to change the timing belt, it should be expected to last until 105k miles.we are not talking about a headlight here, this failure caused my entire car to sieze up on me.the entire car shut off including steering and power brakes.thank god i was not going 65mph.thank you for your time.
Consumer states that took vehicle in for a routine inspection.consumer states on the ride home the vehicle died. Cause unknown.pleasepro

I was driving on a major road when the accident occured. I had stopped on a traffic light, but when i resumed driving, my car could not stop when i tried to slow down or braked. As the brakes accelarated, and i was going to hit the cars in front of me, i swung to a curb and lost consciousness temporary. Afterwards, i saw myself sitting down surrounded by a crowd. I came out and soon the police and the ambulance came.i was checked and the police took a report. The car was towed to a honda's dealership for brake repair or replacement, fearing that my brakes were the culprits. Honda examined brakes and i was told that my brakes were fine, and that the unintended accelaration was caused by my front mat. I was then warned never todrive witth the mat. I reported to the american honda, but it is refusing to take responsibility.
When applying the abs brakes in a sudden stop, the vehicle brakes locked up, causing an accident.
Was driving 65mph when accelerator stuck. Tried braking & they locked up. When vehicle was shifted into neutral the engine revved up. Had vehicle towed to dealer & mechanic could not locate anything wrong.
