While driving this 95 honda civic si, on 4 different occasions when significant impact was made with my car; the airbags (front drivers and passengers) did not deploy! one occasion was when we hit a deer head on. The hood of the car was crumpled in, the poor deer died, one headlight was knocked out. The airbags didn't deploy. On a second occasion, driving on freeway at 65 mph, my son swerved and hitthe siderail, then swerved onto the median of the road. The entire back/side of passengers side was destroyed to the point that repair would be more than value of car...metal was literally ripped out and part of the bumper torn off; yet no airbag deployed!! car was still drivable, my son took it out and had an accident where he ran into a building adding more damage to the deer damage at the front end of the car...no airbag deployment!!!!! again!!! and the last occasion the poor car was parked near the campus of a university, someone ran into the back end of the car, at a speed of 45ish. The back was smashed in, and crumpled. Bumper ,back door etc completely torn up. The car not safe to drive, gas tank only able to hold 1 gallon of gas and fumes now coming into car because of damage...yet still no airbags deployed!!! this last incident(thank god) was the only time that no one was in the car when it occurred! what is wrong with hondas airbags?? is this prevalent with the acura's too? i have one of them where the lights come on for no apparent reason. Incidents from 03 to 06, one incident with police involvement.

My daughter(driving)andmy niece,comingfrom high school in her 1995 honda civicentered a straight stretch of highway, when the car suddenly swerved the left. She over compensated and drove the car into a dirt ditch/embankment. The car then flipped over a driveway and landed ontoitswheels back in the ditch. Honda to install airbag switch (child rides in front of car) - service tech said not aware of bulletin, did not offer assistance. Asked service tech why oil dipstick prematurely rusting-off, on top (every del-sol i've seen has this problem... Rust could eventually go into engine crankcase) but service tech had no explanation, did not offer assistance. The first 2 problems could lead to personal injury, and the 3rd problem could lead to engine failure.

I was accelerating while driving and my car suddenly shut off. I only had power to my radio and headlights. I had to switch on my hazards, put my car in park. I turned it off and back on and it started right back up- but had i of been on the freeway i would have been hit. I had my 2 year old son in the car with me. I immediately turned around to go home and it happened once again on the way back (luckily i took side streets home) turned out to be the ignition switch, but the shop is telling me the whole thing needs to be replaced.

95 honda civic sedan 4 door stalls while driving at any speed also is getting harder to start. Also stalls when not moving also.you can drive 10 feet or a few miles depending upon the outside temp. And weather conditions.when the car is cold it will stall and you have to weight approx. 5-30minutes for it to restart.if the weather is hot it stalls very quickly and takes approx. 3-4 hours to restart.we have replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump screen, fuel pump relay, fuel injector relay, distributor cap, rotor, igniter and condenser and it still stalls.we have takes it to two different mechanics twice and they were unable to diagnosis the problem.i seen the recalls on the ignition switch for the 98 and up and this is what is happening to my car.i would like to know if honda as a recall for the 95 civic also or can i anticipate one in the future.this problemstarted in july 2018 and has been getting worse.

I have a 95 honda civic vx i purchased new from the local dealer here in austin texas. For the past couple of weeks my car would stall out on the highway and a couple of times around town for no reason at all, but would come back on a few seconds later. Today as i write this message i am waiting for a tow truck to come get me and my honda civic from the side of the road. My car finally died out today with the same symptoms as above but this time the car wouldn't start again. I can get the car to run if i only manually release the ignition key a little before the "on" position. If i let the key go all the way back to on to the normal "on position the car will not start. I notice the dash lights don't come on either when in the "on" position, but if i wiggle the key manually back and forth from the "on" position the dash light will come on. I'm going to the honda dealer tomorrow to get them to pay for my tow and the switch. While on line researching problem i came across this "honda service bulletin" http://www.visualimpressions.ca/switch/... This is a very very scary thing have your car die on you for no reason... Honda should have notified every honda driver about this issue !! john

Blows out warm air, occasionally will blow a few minutes of cool air and then go warm again.have to turn on and off to get that few minutes of cool air.
Air conditioner will only work for about 10 minutes and then shut off; if the switches are turned on and off, sometimes it may come back on for another 10 or so minutes (to approx 55 degrees when it works).

On the 5th of march 2001, i drove my car with two children( 8 and 10 years old) on the freeway 57. I needed to take freeway 91 east so i tried to slow down from 65 mph to 25 mph on the freeway 67 southbound. But i could not slow down because of brake master cylinder malfunction. I barely stopped the car by usingside brake. My family might be killed if i did not use side brake properly on time. My car wasi towed away and got fixed at weir cayon honda dealer. There were two major problems i noticed. First, there was no sign of brake problem until it happed. Second, machanic said that brake mater cylinder was leaking internaly at the time it happened. 1995 honda just purchased used. After purchase, noticed broken welds on body (both sides of vehicle) where doors attach to vehicle body. Went to honda service, but service tech had no answer, was no assistance. Also asked about 5/1999 tech bulletin from amer. Honda to install airbag switch (child rides in front of car) - service tech said not aware of bulletin, did not offer assistance. Asked service tech why oil dipstick prematurely rusting-off, on top (every del-sol i've seen has this problem... Rust could eventually go into engine crankcase) but service tech had no explanation, did not offer assistance. The first 2 problems could lead to personal injury, and the 3rd problem could lead to engine failure.

When driving, felt like car was going over speedbumps. Both gas pedal and sterring wheel were shaking...had a friend drive it and he thought it was the tires. Got out to take a look and saw about a 6inch tear where the tread had come apart from the tire...checked other tires- seems to jsut begun on front right tire as well...firestone needs to get thier stuff together because these tires are yet to be recalled and are obviously defective. The floor mat in the 1995 honda civic can sometimes move and actually touch the top of the gas pedal in the car.when this occurs the gas pedal remains depressed even when you lift your foot off of the pedal.the floor mat is stiff and hard and doesn't stick well to the floor.the floor mats i have were from the manufacturer, these are not mats that you buy at the store.
