The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v268000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Charlies motor mall (465 western ave, augusta, me 04330, (207) 622-7327) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall - my son was driving this car and hit another car from the rear on a us highway. This car was totaled. Six airbags went off in the car he hit, but none went off in this car. He sustained minor physical injuries, but has been emotionally traumatized and requires psychosocial therapy. I have been unable to contact anyone who will help us.

Takata recall we are continuously refused a recall of the airbags . Other models with the same part number are being replaced , but because we have a high mileage car they refuse us . Is this true and is it legal ?

During oct 2013 i began to see the airbag warning light come on sporadically. Asked the honda dealer to investigate and they said there was no problem because it is not on all the time. I went to another mechanic that i use and they ran a diagnostic and said it was defective and needed to be replaced. I paid $2289.17 to replace the passenger side airbag and harness. I want honda to verify the current airbags are not subject to the recall, i want honda to verify the replacement airbag is not subject to the recall and i want to be reimbursed for my airbag replacement due to a defective airbag that honda ignored when i raised the issue at their repair facility in tarrytown new york.i have also written to the customer service department of american honda motor co, inc in torrance, ca. And am awaiting their response.

Takata recall.no notice of recall received @ 5.26.16.why not?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags). However, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts unavailable.

My son purchased this vehicle from an individual at a dealership. Drove the car home with no problems, the check engine light was on and the seller did tell him there was an issue with the ima battery, but that it didn't keep from driving it. Didn't crank the car for 2 days. When we put the 10 day tag to get inspection done it wouldn't start. Took the 12 v battery out got it tested and showed bad battery. Replaced the battery, drove around and it died the steering stopped, the lights started flickering and it wouldn't restart. We took the new battery out got it recharged but are unable to drive it more than 10 miles without it flooding power and finally leaving stranded. If it was a standard vehicle i would say it was the alternate but this car doesn't have that. The ima battery needs to be replaced and without it the car is trash.what can we do with this car? i can't sell it, that wouldn't be right. The man who sold this car to my son was wrong in doing so.

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. While driving at an unknown rate of speed, the low beam head lamps shorted and the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to coast the vehicle into a parking lot. The vehicle stalled again and was unable to be restarted. The contact was unable to determine if the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 11v106000 (electrical system). The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who replaced the dc/dc converter, but the failure recurred. The ima warning light and the service engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle restarted with hesitation and stalled again. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who replaced the ima battery module and updated the pcm with new software. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure several times and provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 58,028.

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact stated that water was sipping into the vehicle causing the battery to short. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the issue. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was unavailable. The vin was unavailable.

Honda performed an ima software update on 12/22/2010.since that time the availability of electrical assist has been greatly reduced.even when the battery reads full, i cannot be sure that electrical assist will be available, or, if it is available, how long it will last.several times it has suddenly failed in the middle of a merge or lane change.

While driving the power steering disengages leaving me without any power steering making it extremely difficult to turn my steering wheel in either direction. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when this will occur. Only that it will usually happen after about 20 minutes of steady driving. Sometimes it happens when i'm going straight and other times when i'm going around a bend. It has shut off on me while traveling at speeds of 65, 55, 40, 30, 20, all the way down to 5 mph right as i'm preparing to park my vehicle. Fortunately, the first time it happened about a month ago i happened to be going straight. I don't know what would have happened had it occurred 20 seconds earlier when i was going around a bend. Ever since then i stay hyper vigilant w/ 2 hands on the wheel, so if it does happen while turning i'll be able to muscle my way through the turn. Sure enough, yesterday evening i got the opportunity to test my reflexes. While traveling 35 mph on a backroad highway i began to turn into the sharp bend in the road when suddenly the steering warning light illuminated, and the power steering simultaneously disengaged. As i began to drift over into the yellow line w/ on-coming cars whizzing past, i decisively put every ounce of might i had into turning the wheel as fast and as far right as i could until i could get my car safely to the shoulder. I narrowly escaped a head-on collision.with a sigh of relief, i put the vehicle in park, activated my hazards and shut off my car for about 2 minutes. That usually does the trick. When i restart my car, i can usually expect the power steering to return. As i continue to drive the issue almost always seems to resurface within 10 minutes or so. The fact that the power steering just randomly disengages for apparently no reason whatsoever is obviously a serious safety concern. This really needs to be investigated.

My daughter, [xxx] was entering on freeway from ramp and the car suddenly lost acceleration, she had to stop on right side of emergency lane. Fortunately the time was not rush hour and no vehicles behind her hit her car.we took to a honda dealer they diagnosed ima battery is no good and need to replace.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The integrated motor assist (ima) battery is failing prematurely on my car, the assist works sporadically.when passing traffic on the highway i have to really mash the gas pedal to the floor, because the assist is absent for lack of power. Honda installed a software fix(bulletin 10-034) that greatly reduces the battery ability to function at full capacity, so they could make the battery last longer and not have to replace them under warranty. I get the code p0a7f (one of the blocks in the battery pack has deteriorated: its dynamic resistance is too high) on my car computer. Honda erased it manually and sent me home without replacing my ima battery. When coming to a stop the car surges as i make a complete stop, because the car is regenerating power to replenish the spent battery. The so called patch 10-034 is really making the car unstable to drive, the engine reeves very high without much power produced in passing or entering highways situations. When the car was working fine, a little touch of the gas would have been enough to pass traffic or climb steep hills. Now the assist only works sometimes and keeps me guessing if i will have enough power to pass or not. The ima battery is definitely not up to the job.

I just bought a car from a small used car dealer last nov.9, 2015. I can save money for my gasoline expenses because the car i bought is a hybrid. I drove home this car with my son with 1/4 tank (25%) gasoline in the tank. But, after 3-days since the gasoline was below 1/4 of the tank, i full tank my car with gasoline (full tank). The next day when i open my garage from inside the house, i smell very strong gasoline vapor. I thought it's only some container of chemical in the garage that i smell that really smell terrible. I checked the bottom of the ground and i saw gas spilling onto the ground underneath the gasoline tank. By checking a lot of reviews from consumers/ automobile owner of 2006 honda civic hybrid. There's a lot of issue of crack gasoline tank of this particular car, leaking from the rubber gasket between the gas tank and the fuel filler neck also. When the gasoline is leaking on the ground that goes all the way to the bottom of the gasoline tank, while running the friction of the running metal wheels can start a fire.it's very dangerous also in the public. My vin# [xxx]. I checked the online report that the american honda are extending 2006 honda civic hybrid from 80,000 to 120,000 miles for the manufacturer's warranty. Because, of the consumer's/ automobile owner's complaints about leaking gasoline tank. It is the faulty of engineering design. But, we cannot just let this past by. It's very risky of the life of many people with the same issue or problem. Some 2006 honda civic hybrid owners might not even noticed the leaking problem that can put their own family in great danger.. Please, do something to avoid many life of other people in great danger and causing life to death. I don't want to spend money in this factory inefficient design and defective parts of the car. This supposed to be an urgent recall for american honda. Please help.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Honda's software reflash of the ima system in 2010 has caused my car to operate erratically.the hybrid battery is often completely unavailable to assist the regular motor when needed to accelerate to merge into high speed traffic, to pass other vehicles, or to avoid collisions.additionally, when taking off from a stop the car sometimes hesitates to start moving, stutters, jerks or lurches.i have not been able to achieve more than 29 mpg since the software update, approximately 10 mpg less than i was getting before the update. California small claims court awarded me $9,867.19 against honda - see www.dontsettlewithhonda.orgfor 26 page judgment of the court. **03/01/2012 bf

I would very much like to share my concerns over the safety of the 2006 honda civic hybrid that we purchased new from a dealer.the car performed well for a few years, until honda decided to tell me to go to the dealer and "upgrade" the software controlling the hybrid motor-battery system.immediately following the software update, the car was utterly devoid of power, and dangerous to drive when merging on the freeway, even when driving alone without other weight in the car.if i drive my two young children with me, it's very scary as the car must be absolutely floored the entire time while merging.no doubt this is strongly affecting the fuel economy of the car as well, as it gets only in the mid 30s, when originally advertised much higher.also, i can't imagine anyone ever buying this car with the pathetic level of power it exhibits, therefore the resale value is now next to nothing.i would be happy to have a software downgrade and get back to original performance, but honda tells me this is not possible for whatever reason.i urge you to begin or continue an investigation concerning the detrimental safety impacts of the 2006 honda civic hybrid software update. **03/01/2012 updated bfupdated 03/16/12

After my 2006 honda civic hybrid received an integrated motor assist (ima) software upgrade in 2010, if the car is parked for one day (such as a sunday, if i do not drive the car) the ima battery will drain within one half mile of leaving my home the next day, on a level roadway, even if the ventilation system and radio are off to reduce electrical load. Fuel economy also dropped about 10 mpg after the software upgrade. Without ima, the car has slow freeway acceleration, especially when traveling uphill. The honda dealer says they cannot do anything because the ima system light does not illuminate (obd does not show a fault) although the dealer can reproduce the problem after keeping the car overnight.how do you know the ima software upgrade does not prevent the ima light from illuminating when there is an ima battery fault, therefore not requiring honda to replace the ima batteries under warranty?

Due to poor performance after a recent honda ima hybrid battery software update, the electronic battery had turned itself off in order to extend its life. When the battery turned off, the primary electronic brakes were also turned off. When an accident happened on the opposing direction of traffic, it sent debris across the freeway barrier into my lane. I attempted to decrease my speed in order to maneuver around the debris, but i did not have sufficient braking power.if the brakes were not disabled in order to extend the battery life and decrease honda of america's financial responsibility to replace batteries under warranty, i would not have ran over the debris that almost sent me straight into the median wall. I had seen the accident with plenty of time to slow down and i would have made it safely around the debris if i had proper working brakes. The brakes remain intermittent sometimes working as they should, other times not at all as stated above.

Flashing ignition "immobilizer" light - system code "c-1":with low battery voltage, or a disconnected or "dead" battery, vehicle cannot be started, either by "jump starting" or replacing the 12v car battery.this is due to a defect, in all "j vin" civic hybrids, on the micu board located in the under-dash fuse relay box. Defect results in the electronic key codes being lost with low or no 12v ignition system voltage. The only remedy is to have the car towed to an authorized honda dealer to have all keys (car comes with 3 sets of keys) reprogrammed to the ignition immobilizer system. Only a honda dealer can perform this operation.because of this defect, vehicle operator and any passengers can be left stranded and in an unsafe position. The only remedy is to have the car towed to a dealer, if available, to have the immobilizer system reprogrammed.honda will not allow any other service provider to perform this operation because of security and vehicle theft concerns.depending on the circumstances of the immobilizer failure, this can be a life threatening safety issue for the vehicle operator, depending on where and when the failure occurs. In addition, routine maintenance or repairs requiring the vehicle battery to be disconnected, will result in an inoperable vehicle and require that the vehicle car keys be reprogrammed, something that would be totally unrelated to the planned maintenance or repair and the key reprogramming would have to be done at only a honda dealer.

On at least four occasions, once while moving at about 30 mph, the entire car shut down.the gas engine shut off, power steering and brakes went dead, and the dash went blank.i had to place the car in park, and then remove and reinsert the key in order to restart.this has happened once, though not while moving, since the ima software update.

The ima (hybrid battery) system in my 2006 honda civic hybrid has recently suffered several failures resulting in near loss of power and control.in the most serious instances, the "charge" indicated for the ima battery will suddenly drop (from a three-quarters or half-charge to no charge) in a few seconds while accelerating intro traffic (from auto stop) resulting in an marked, sudden decrease in acceleration.it is impossible to predict when this will happen -- and it has already resulting in 2 near accidents.i have reported this issue to my local honda dealer.the have reprogrammed the ima system (pursuant to several service bulletins) to no avail.they have also noted that the ima system currently indicates code p047f (high voltage battery deterioration), but they refuse to replace the ima battery even though it is clearly defective and covered under the 9-year, 92000 mile warranty extension agreed to by honda in the recent john true et al. V. American honda class action settlement.it is only a matter of time before the defects in the ima system in the 2006 (and other) honda civic hybrid models cause a serious crash due to unanticipated loss of power and/or control.

The integrated motor assist (ima) hybrid system loses power with no known precipitating factors or advance indication of failure.the vehicle will immediately reduce power train output prior to the dash gauges indicating a near-complete loss of ima battery charge and function moments later, with only the internal combustion engine providing motive power.within 3-4 miles of driving, the ima battery charge, as indicated by the dash meter, will then immediately jump to a completely full level in a similarly unexplained fashion.independent of these transient but regular failures of the high-voltage hybrid system, the vehicle functions as expected.currently, i have documented over 160 instances since 4/22/11, occurring an average of once every day the vehicle is driven, increasing to 2-3 times daily since mid-november, 2011 (data available on request).symptoms occur independent of ambient temperature, nature of drive (high/low speed) and despite changing the 12 volt battery and disconnecting or turning off all power accessories possible.following a satisfaction campaign by honda in late summer/fall, 2010 that involved a software update installed at a honda dealership and replacement of the dc-dc converter portion of the hybrid system under recall shortly after, the episodes of loss of power impairing vehicle operation have increased in frequency.an additional software update by honda completed on 11/10/11 has further exacerbated the rate of transient failures of the ima system and impacted vehicle driveability.multiple software updates pertaining the the ima hybrid system have also been installed on the vehicle by honda dealer technicians over the previous 3 years.

Electric sistem fail

The ima battery has failed. The ima battery was given a computer "patch" last year to help the ima perform better than it had. The performance after a stop was very poor and the pick up lagging seriously behind the engine. The "patch" did not work, it made matters worse. I am now faced with the large expense of having to replace this battery. Beyond the expense is the safety issue of not having the power to accelerate because the "patch" adjusted the ima system poorly ..

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. While driving approximately 60 mph, the power steering failed, the headlights turned off, and the engine stalled. A warning illuminated after the failures occurred. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealer. The vehicle had previously been repaired by a dealer under a recall; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin, nhtsa campaign number, and failure mileage were unavailable.

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the integrated motor assist and the check engine warning lights. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was advised to the contact that the electrical integrated motor assist converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for a second diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

The vehicles battery has failed and the car does not have enough power to safely pull into intersections or incoming traffic. There have been several near misses due to this issue. We are terrified when driving the vehicle.

Was driving on the freeway when suddenly my car engine shuts off. There is still power too the car but the speed odometer doesn't work, along with whatever is used to monitor the milage i have traveled. I have to switch it too low gear in order too keep it going or the car stops even when im going 65. It has happened now multiple times and when shifted into park it won't shift out of park for several hours. I have to disconnect the battery terminals too reset the codes because if i don't ill end up sitting in my car several hours before i can start moving again. The lights that illuminate are the brake system, check engine light, and ima system all amber. If i didnt act as i did this time it would have been like the first time where i actually did stop on the freeway causing for a traffic jam, not only was that embarrassing it was also scary being stuck in the furtherest left lane with no shoulder on the left side too pull off the freeway and all the cars speeding at 65 mph or more by me .

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving at various speeds. The contact detached and re-attached the battery and the vehicle operated as intended. The contact stated that a fault code would show regarding an issue with the braking system.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 11v106000 (electrical system). The mechanic was unable to confirm the exact cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 195,000.

Honda did a recall on the software, supposedly to save the hybrid batteries for early failure. After the change the car experienced lesmiles per gallon gas efficiency, and worse, the car's acceleration was drastically reduced. Now when i try to enter a freeway i feel i am taking my life in my own hand. It is difficult to get up to speed quickly enough to match traffic. Also when i try to cross traffic lanes from a stop sign or light i am fearful the car will accelerate quickly enough to get across. I'd like to go back to the original software, i felt it was safer!

While driving at about 20 mph, the transmission disengaged from the engine.when accelerator was pressed, the engine would freely rev to the redline but there was no movement of the car.the car was going up a hill when this happened.the car was rolled backward, almost into traffic at a busy intersection.car had to be towed to the dealer.at the dealer big island honda, they did not experience the malfunction and could not solve the problem.we drove the car home.the next day we drove it again and the problem flared up again.this time we managed to get it to the dealer in time while risking our lives to get it there.however, this time the issue was discovered and the car wasn't released to us when they recognized that the issue could indeed contribute to cause a catastrophic failure shutting down all engine operation while driving!i was shocked since i am a mechanical engineer who understands catastrophic failure in machines.they took two weeks to diagnose issue and replace computer chip.is this a manufacture defect, design failure, or life endangering malfunction?

Bought this car new. I won't even go into the ridiculous 49/51 mpg window sticker that is a blatant lie but that does play into my complaint as you will see. Honda, after receiving complaints about the battery pack and having problems with it, has this brainstorm to reflash or reprogram the computer/battery pack as part of a recall this past year. This was done at my last oil change. Prior to that time my sole complaint with my car was that the mpg averaged about 35mpg period. Since this last recall and reprogram not only has my fuel economy gone down but the performance of the car is essentially unsafe from a stopped position. Let's face it, the car never was a nascar but on the other side of the coin it was not a golf car either. Now when starting out from a stopped position, whether at a stop light or anywhere and whether the motor has shut off or not, the hybrid is so bogged down that i honestly believe my golf car accelerates better and more quickly. Let's set this straight too. I'm 41 and not trying to drag race i'm merely trying to drive the car in a normal safe manner. At times it feels like the car is going to literally die in the middle of a turn or intersection which can be a bad thing once you commit to a turn and there's a 53 foot 100,000lbs of fun coming in your direction. Honda has gotten away with ignoring my complaints about the hydroplaning of this vehicle, the ridiculously low fuel economy, and now they will likely do the same with their attempt at making their battery last longer which has made the vehicle less safe for me and my wife and kids. This "recall" was nothing more than a battery life extender to protect honda's wallet. How about replacing everyone's battery once for the life of the car? that'd make sense to me...you know...the guy that shelled out 24,000.00 for your car expecting to receive mid to upper 40's in fuel economy. Fix it.

I'm a honda civic hybrid owner (2006).i have not reported the lack of acceleration to my dealer, assuming that was the low power of the car due to the hybrid nature.the lack of acceleration at times when it's needed has put me in unsafe situations.additionally, my hybrid does not consistently auto stop as designed.

The gas tank started leaking and i found out there was not a recall but there is a service bulletin on the gas tank in which honda extended the warranty to 10 years and 120,000 miles. Honda knows there are defective gas tanks and will not replace them if the car has over 120,000. What does mileage have to do with a gas tank that just hangs under a car that has so little ground clearance you would get stuck on a rough road. They know the gas tanks will leak and become dangerous and yet they won't replace them and get them off the road.

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact stated that there was a fuel odor present in the vehicle before and after refueling. The contact stated that the i.m.a and engine warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Gas tank cracked at 132k miles, leaking gas, fumes in cabin and causing a safety concern. It's unclear exactly when it happened, but it was in the driveway, stationary and emitting fumes after being filled up with gas when i first noticed and stopped driving it. Turns out, honda knew about the issue and issued a technical bulletin to dealerships extendingwarranty for 10 years or 120,000 miles but despite regular services and other recall fixes, i was never informed that this could be an issue, and the tank was never checked for cracks by the dealership service.

I had the honda dealership perform the ima software 'upgrade' in 2010 as part of the recall for this vehicle to further extend the life of the ima battery.since that time, the ima battery has failed twice.first in jan 2012.this battery was replaced under the extended warranty for this part provided by honda when they initially identified the issue with the ima battery.the second failure occurred a short 3-years later.each time, the vehicle loses all ability to accelerate and creates an unsafe situation when trying to merge or perform turns when acceleration is needed.even though the ima battery was only 3-years old at the time of this second failure, honda is not covering the full cost of repair.the ima software 'upgrade' has done nothing to address the failure rate of the ima battery and creates an unsafe situation when acceleration in unexpectedly lost due to drastic power fluctuations.

I can smell a strong gas odor near the rear of the car. I looked under the car and could see gas dripping from the gas tank where the filler hose goes into the tank. There is a puddle of gas under the car when it is parked.

My daughter has been driving a 2006 honda civic hybrid; after about a month and half, everytime she fills up the gas tank.there's a order/smell of gasoline.sometime in december, we took the car to elk grove honda for the smell of gasoline.elk grove honda service department told us; we needed to replace the fuel tank costing about $800.00.after doing some research; the new york times reported, on 12-19-11 gas leaks with 2006-2011 honda civic hybrids fuel tanks.however, in the article, honda is not doing a recall but extending the warranty to 10 years or 120,000 miles.my daughter's car is not ten years old but is over the 120,000 miles and now we are subjected to paying the enormous $800.00 bill to fix, the acknowledged honda problem.how can we get honda to pay for the leaking fuel and have my daughter drive a safe care?

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact stated that while driving uphill at 5 mph, the vehicle started losing power slowly and eventually became resistant to acceleration attempts. The engine remained on but there was no power. The contact was still able to drive the vehicle but she had to avoid inclines. The dealer was notified but offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 85,000.updated 8/10/12 the consumer stated the dealer replaced the assist battery, but she continued to experience acceleration issues. Updated 08/14/12

Summary:my 2006 honda civic hybrid received the integrated motor assist (ima) software upgrade in 2010, since then vehicle performance is unreliable. If the car is not used for about 10 hours or more i.e. One daythe ima battery will drain in less than a mile of leaving my home the next day, on a level roadway. This leaves me with the gas engine only and driveability in traffic suffers a lot with slow acceleration and poor overtaking capability to the point of being dangerous.after about 2-3 miles the ima system will start to indicate charging and within a short distance the ima indicator will suddenly jump from 3 bars (low) to 8 bars (full) in a matter of 3-5 seconds. This is not normal nimh battery behavior my honda dealer says they cannot do anything because the ima system light does not illuminate (obd does not show a fault). In my opinion from driving the vehicle the ima software upgrade has done nothing to solve the basic problem and has reduced my economy by about 8 mpg!.

Honda cvt transmission slips when starting out , especially when starting uphill . Have taken to honda and private mechanics no solution. This thing slipping when i try to start out into traffic can and will cause an accident someday .

Cvt is slipping, hard to power up hills, doesn't kick in after a stop and sometimes stays on or speeds up around corners. Just had the transmission oil changed and problem has not improved.

"vehicle shudder problem"i have been experiencing a jolting/shuddering issue with my vehicle since i purchased it in 2013. When accelerating from a stop position, the vehicle shudders with the steering vibrating before moving. On a snowing or raining day, some skidding occurs which has the potential to cause safety issues. It appears that there has been recalls in some asian countries, i would encourage similar recall in north america from honda. I called honda customer service @ 1-800-999-1009 this morning, and was informed there is no shudder recall at this time. It would be desirable if the administration could liaise with honda. We shouldn't really wait until there is fatalities before an action is taken. Let's save lives!

Driver was coming down a hill and around a curve and pressed the brakes to slow down and there was absolutely no response from the brakes. The driver was forced to pull the hand brake on the car - causing the car to swerve into the oncoming lane. The car was then hit by an oncoming car. The car was completely totaled and the driver suffered multiple injuries.

While pulling into a parking spot in a parking garage where i am working a tempfor 2mo. My car wouldn't stop and seem to be racing ,into the brick wall (no way to stop), i called honda dealer that worked on my car 2 weeks prior, and they put on machine and drove it and tested they say, and couldn't find any problemsthey even called honda dealer. Something is not right . I have neck and upper thoracic pain. It was a night mare. Please help us . American honda!! front end damage. Bumper got repaired 1month ago from a truck running a red light .

The contact owns a 2006 honda civic hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the power steering malfunctioned without warning. The contact mentioned that the steering would turn to the right independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 80,000.

Experiencing premature tire wear out on rear tires (<30k miles of highway driving). Was informed through an internet search for known problems that there was a service bulletin (sb 08-001) that informed dealers that there were defective rear upper control arms that could cause premature tire wear. Inspection was required to determine if the control arms were defective. This information was not initially provided by the dealership when asked if there were any defect with the car. When the car was being brought in for a recall service, the service manager conceded that there was a service bulletin and that they would check out the car. The defect was confirmed and the control arms were replaced at no charge. The tires however were unusable and had to be replaced and honda would not cover that expense even though the service bulletin specifically stated that the defect would cause premature tire wearout (cupping).

Honda had a class action settlement for replacement of upper control arm kit extended warranty due to rear wheel excessive tire wear, however i was not informed of issue and therefore have missed the deadline for warranty. After contacting american honda, placing a claim for goodwill assistance and after reviewing they provided they could not do anything for me and that i could re-submit claim only after i had honda dealer perform diagnostics which they charge $75 fee with no guarantee that they would recover this cost or provide any assistance for repair of issue. I know this is the issue as i have all original honda oem parts, have noticed excessive inner tire wear on the right rear tire and had pep boys perform inspection alerting me to the honda replacement kit. In my research i have also found statement that this condition can cause issues with steering and safety. With honda repair prices much higher than other independent repair shops, there is no reason to pay honda diagnostics charge simply to confirm what already established knowledge is. End result is that honda has corrected a flawed design yet is not willing to make right with providing repair for newly designed replacement kit, which makes me a very un-satisfied customer of their products.

Mpg decreased 6-8 mpg in the past week. Driving up steep hill today, car lost power and started to roll backward a few feet before brake finally kicked in. Pressed accelerator for about 40 seconds but car would not move up the hill. Battery had drained from full charge to one bar within 3 miles.

I purchased this 2006 honda civic hybrid new in april 2006.the window sticker said 49 mpg city and 51 mpg highway.i have 121,xxx miles on the vehicle and have tried hard to get the best mileage possible.the best i can achieve on the average combined is 38-39.it is clear fraud. The class action suit which was filed is not a reasonable compensation to me for my damages. Maybe to the lawyers who represent the class, but not me.i should be compensated the damages between what was sold to me and what was delivered plus punitive damages.i would like your help.

This occurs on occasion.when the accelerator is depressed the vehicle's acceleration was very slow responding to command.this happened while accelerating from a stop and entered the intersection with oncoming traffic from both sides.the civic was not moving as expected and nearly did not make it to the opposite side of the street before the oncoming cars reached me.because it happens only occasionally, when it happens it is unexpected and could easily lead to an accident.

We shouldn't really wait until there is fatalities before an action is taken. Let's save lives!

Honda civic hybrid 2006 couldn't run suddenly, even though i pressed accelerator fully.it was when i drove about 30 miles.about 5 kilometers previous from the incident, it became to hard to run gradually, for example, the reaction of the engine became later then it couldn't run only 15 mph, even though i pressed accelerator fully.finally, my car stopped on the beach blvd.

Windshield wipers suddenly stop working properly - they fail to stop wiping when the switch is turned off, the intermittent settings fail to work at all, and when the wipers do stop it is often in the middle of a swipe, obscuring the driver's vision. An internet search of the problem revealed that thousands of honda owners experience the same problem and that honda has issued technical bulletins describing the exact problem.this is a serious safety issue because the problem is intermittent and occurs when one is using the wipers. It is also a safety issue in that the failure of the wipers to park properly blocks the driver's line of sight.
