Prior to your recalls on takata air bags. The last 2 years my vehicle has been going back and forth with the honda dealer ship regarding my air bag lightstaying on, they said they could check it out but would charge $14900.for a diagnostics fee. Money i don't have. My vehicle is in my daughter possession who also has 2 kid ages 6 and 9. The dealership said they could disconnect the switch so she wouldn't have to see it.that is not the answer. I would hate to see if there is something wrong with the air bags and it s not on the recall list and something happens to my daughter or my grandkids . I just watched the news on the updates and the person that died because the air bags were not recognized as a problem. It also said she would have lived if they were fixed.(she was 17 years old).is there a way to have this vehicle checked out not at my expense please.( on december 6 i recently totaled my 2014 honda odysee and my air bags saved me and the van was totaled ) my point isi don't want my family to end up like that 17 year old dead. Again to reiterate the air bag light stays on and i am not comfortable with it.please help to fix this.please contact me at thanks[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*pm

I had an srs light on at 44000 miles and took it into honda, figure it was a safety thing they would take care of it. Honda wanted to charge me 100 dollars for a diagnostic. I told them no. They then told me they would talk to honda to wave fee. Honda paid for diagnostic came back with code indicating cable reel issue. Honda said it would be 545 dollars to replace and if it didn't get replaced it may cause issues with airbag inflator and may not inflate in a car accident. I told them this was a honda safety problem and they should replace it. The newest round of recalls were for accords 2008-2010. I guess i will just wait around until my car eventually gets recalled until then cross my fingers i don't get in an accident.

Takata inflators, no incident, but, the warning from honda is there no recall ready and at same time warning to not have a front seat passenger due to a defective bag causing injury.we are a couple so theres always a passenger who is over 6ft and must sit in tbe front. When it rains the water intrudes inside, windshield was replaced twice and through the root-cause it was fond that the source is not windshield.clogging of the vinyl/plastic trim pieces that run on the roof of the vehicle causes the issue. Now at every single rain or snow, i can see the curtain airbag is soaked in the water.i am sure that the airbags are not waterproof.
Takata recall. Nothing has happened so far thank god. But i believe sufficient time has passed since the recall notice and there is still no solution for my recall. They advice to not have anyone on the passenger side as they could potentially be harmed by this issue but how much longer am i supposed to keep this up? this is a two door car so imagine the hassle of asking people to ride in the back. This is a huge inconvenience. I don't feel safe driving on this conditions, is there anything that can be done to speed up a solution or any other alternatives. I've considered to return my car if that's what it takes. Provided they pay a fair value for it since my car is already paid off.
Recall airbag was replaced filing because ofnotice sent to me
"takata recall". The initial notice is dated may 2016. It is now 4 nov 2016 and i have not received the second letter with recall repair info all indicators state that honda has yet to do anything about this. Yet i am supposed to avoid having any passengers in teh front passenger seat for all this time? this is rendering this vehicle useless for the intent of having it as a family car. Period! this is unacceptable from an auto manufacturer of any kind, much less one as large as honda. I see there hasn't been any suspension on me paying for the vehicle but when there is a serious safety hazard, then we are to just sit back and take it? this is how class action lawsuits start. I am expecting that someone should be able to do their job, come up with a plan of action and actually get this fixed. The issue is completely unacceptable!

Takata recall. I had a accident and something out of the airbag hit and cut the side of my face. .....updated 08/31/16
Takata recalli received a recall notice dated july 2016 informing me of the recall but saying that the parts were not available. I never received a second notice that the parts were available. Recently i scheduled the repair with holler honda of orlando fl. I assumed i would be given a car to drive while the repair was being done. I was told that i would not be furnished a car which meant that i would have to rent a car or pay taxi fare. Since this air bag defect is not of my doing i feel that i shouldn't have to pay anything out of my pocket. Am i right or wrong? i feel the recall should be totally cost free.

"takata recall"---> i received a recall notice about my air bags about 1 month ago. My husband has called gwinnett place honda to find out about parts, where to take the car,and how to go about getting a rental. They replied that we needed to call honda automobile customer service for an authorization to get a rental. It has been 2 weeks andno one has called back. During all of this i have to drive this car to and from work with my kids. I also take several children to school along with mine so i have someone in the passenger front seat. I explained this to the customer service representative and all he could tell say that he could only put in a request for a rental. He could not tell me an estimated time to hear back from anyone or anything else i could do in the mean time. Honestly i am not made of money and this is a complete inconvenience. The fact that they do not seem to be the least bit concerned is very concerning to me. I just want to know what i should do.. I don't feel comfortable driving a car with an airbag that could go off at any time. Do i have to go out an rent my own car for an unspeakable amount of time... Due to no one knowing when my car will be able to be serviced (they don't know when the parts will be available)

On the driver side of my car. Above my head where the airbag is at water gets inside the vehicle and honda doesn't know what the problem is. I did some research and saw that multiple people with honda accords and honda civics have had this problem and honda was no help with fixing the issue or knowing what is wrong. This should be a recall and should be investigated. This is very dangerous if an accident happens because the airbag wont work. Also, this creates mold in the car and wont be easy for the owner to sell the car. Please make this a recall on the cars. I have a 2011 accord coupe v6. They will say my car is out of warranty. I purchased it brand new and within the last year this has been going on and i didn't think it was anything until i realized it was coming through my car when it rained outside. Please help!

"takata recall" - my vehicle has been recalled according to the email i received today from nhtsa.it says "no remedy," but the further statement indicates i should have received my second letter in the spring or fall of 2016.i have not received that letter.i did receive the 1st one, advising to to have person in passenger seat, but nothing after that.
My sister was in a accident earlier in the year and the airbags did not deploy
My honda accord 2011, passenger air bag has blinking off, i have a passenger sit on the passenger side with the hope to reset the alarm and no avail...there is also a red indication of the alarm ( red light) that wnen i tried to start the ignition, the light wont disappear..honda dealer says, i have to pay diagnostic etc to reset the alarm..the alarm comes on whether its stationary or in motion.
I took my vehicle in to serra honda of sylacauga on or around april 2017 to have my have my takata airbag inflator repaired due to a recall. Since the repair, my airbag light will not go off and i have called several times to inform serra honda service personnel. Serra honda personnel has informed me that the airbag indicator light being on has nothing to do with their service department and that if i brought it back, there would be a minimum of $140 charge to look at my airbag. This is unacceptable. Although the airbag indicator light comes on intermittently, it is still a concern for me especially since my fiance is the primary driver of the vehicle. It has been titled to her. Terra t. Foster. Thank you for looking into this for me.

Takata recall-honda is out of airbags
Takata recallmy vehicle has been out of commission for over 5 months. The air bag installation was scheduledafter 2 months, but then a part was broken during installation and i have been waiting for a part ever since. How long is a reasonable amount of time for repair?
Takata recall was done dec 08,2018. About 2 month later my air bag light was coming on once in a while, it's been getting worse, now air bag light is on constantly, everytime cae is running. I am wandering if this problem is due to a recall?

I have responded to honda's recall notices for airbag repairs on this 2011 car several times and told them that the car was leased in 2011 and returned to honda in 2014.i am concerned that whoever honda sold this car to is not receiving recall notices. On the last notice that i received, i wrote on the information change card provided that the car was returned at joyce honda in denville, nj when i leased a 2014 honda.i also wrote that i would notify nhtsa of honda's inability to correct the recall notice.i just received another notice on 2/15/2021. Please let honda know what they need to do to really comply with the law.
Takata recall-i am the only owner and driver of this car and for the past 1-1/2 years the passenger side airbag sensor has been going and off when idle or while driving. I have had numerous auto technicians check the sensor and been told there is nothing indicating any issues. The sensor should not go off on a car that has never been involved in any accidents!. I have paid paramus honda to check my car and told that the sensor code has worn off or disappeared and that a special airbag technician will need to inspect the car for a fee. I need this to be remedied as i drive my children in this car daily and rely on it to get to work. The safety of anyone in the passenger seat is jeopardized if i have anyone sit in the front seat.

The airbag light turn on without any accident car was running.on the highway
I contacted to honda dealer near my place today regarding the recall for the airbag. They did not know when they will have the parts and refused to provide a rental car. Honda told me not to allow anyone seat on the passenger side when i asked them a temporary remedy because i do not want to risk any life of my family. It did not make sense that i can not take more than 4 people including myself.
10 hours after the car was last driven or touched, the door spontaneously caught on fire. It seems the spark came from the door locks and power window master switch area. I have video of it happening. It burned for nearly 10 minutes. The entire door is almost completely melted.
Vehicle factory radio changes stations on its own and unexpectedly. This happens when the vehicle is stopped or moving. Vehicle heavily consumes oil. It requires 1.5 - 2 quarts of oil be added between scheduled oil changes.
Tpmslight comes on and stays on goes off intermittently with variable time in between !this happens while driving !
The sunroof opened on its own, while car was parked. It was during a snowstorm and extreme cold with high winds and below zero windchills.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While driving various speeds, the vehicle decelerated and lost power. The battery and oil pressure warning indicators illuminated. I keep hearing whining sounds under hood.i initially thought it was power steering because it was a little low.however, after topping it off, it continues and sometimes get even louder.i have also noticed cracking sound from wheel when driving.it's really noticeable when roads/streets are uneven.it sounds like wheels are going to roll off at any time.dealership told me my driver side map light needs to be replaced.however, driver side map light works on rare occasions.i also noticed that light on driver side visor seems to have a short.this is very disturbing.i owned a 98 honda accord and never had these issues for 13 years.i noticed there has been recall for certain 2011 honda accord for suspension issues.why is this car not included?
Hi,i purchased a honda accord (exl, v6) of 2011 model. I and other family members experience headache whenever we use the car, mainly for long drive (say, more than 2 hours). I think its due to its new electronic noise cancellation system (that honda installed in its accord models around 2010) and high internal cabin noise, particularly at higher speed. Honda reconfigured the noise cancellation system in its 2013 accord models. I reported the issue to honda technical service and two honda dealers. None find/acknowledge any issue with the car or with its noise cancellation/sound system.i wanted to inform your organization with an aim to know if that can be considered as mechanical malfunction (for this particular vehicle) or manufacturing defect of that particular honda model and if i am entitled for refund. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I brought the car used certified with 6,800 miles. After a week of driving, the car feels like it has a mind of it own,i don't have full control of the car. Every time i hit a bump the car will swing left and right. Or when i'm going over 55 mph on the highway, the car moves left and right by it self. Something feels loose, i was driving local on 11/25/12 and made a left turn, the engine just shut off on me, i took it back to the dealer and the dealer found nothing wrong with the car or with the suspension. My friend have the same problem with his car, the suspension on the 2011 honda accord se don't feel right.the problem needs to be corrected, i have a 2 year old and a new born in my house that goes in and out of this vehicle. I don't need to wait until something happens for the dealer or manufacturer to fix the problem.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. After the contact's vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags), the electrical system began to fail. While attempting to start the vehicle, the radio illuminated off and on. The contact turned the key into the off position and restarted the vehicle, but the vehicle would not start. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 134,354.
While driving at freeway speed (65) the engine would just lose power with no warning!! its been to the dealer three times now for this same issue. Now no one in the family wants to drive the car. Its just too nerve racking to guess when the car will lose power, or trust it for a long trip. The last time this happen we were almost hit by a truck as we were trying to get to the side of the road.
I purchase a honda accord 2011 on 2/18/2011. I always get an oil change very 3000 to 4000 miles. The second time i took it infor oil change the tech told me there is a leak in the main rear seal area and that they need the forabout two days. I didn't mind it due to that fact it was not the major repair like touch the engine, but soon after i receive a call tellingme that they need to change the short block of the engine that's when i got concern. It a brand new car with a new engine and they alreadytoplace the short block engine ! i was upset. Ionly have the car only for about 3 month not and nowi'm paying note for a new car but driving a rebuilt honda accord 2011. And the best part of my car now isan the steering wheel starting to shakinga little whenit comes to a complete stop or in park. Remind you my car was in for repair on 5/25/ to 6/8/2011 and the shaking started on 6/9/2011. I contacted the dealer and honda to see if they can getme in to another car, same model and everything. They both told me that can't because the car was a few month old and they would loss some money and once you sign that contract your sol and it not their problem.but they are willing to give me a accessories for that car for customer satisfaction. I guess one year from now when i when my car brake down that accessories would do great help. Lol . No more honda for me!!! customer ser. Suck. Here is a list what they did to the car:"check and report on oil leak at engine area.troubleshoot oil leak. Inspection indicated oil leak at rear main seal area.r/r transmission and inspect reare main seal= dry. Inspection indicate leak at engine block assembly. Re-install trans. Remove engine/tran assembly from vehicle. Replace engine sort block assembly. Replace all related gaskets and seal. Evacuate and recharge a/c system add coolant/ road test vehicle.".

The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the battery warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the failure occurred on multiple occasions and only during rain weather conditions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While driving at unknown speeds, the battery warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the alternator needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.
I lost power and i notice battery light indicator came on after making a right turn while going 5 mph while raining in a puddle of water. Shortly after which, maybe 5 seconds, i regained power back.this has happened twice while turning during a rain, although it does not happen every time it rains.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While driving approximately 20 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle made a whining noise. The failure occurred each time the vehicle was due for an oil change. The noise stopped when the contact removed his foot from the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the vehicle was low on oil, which caused the timing chain to slip. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer advised the contact to have an oil consumption test completed. The oil consumption test had not been completed. The approximate failure mileage was 108,600.
Warranty extension notification: piston rings that stick together resulting in high motor oil consumption.and default notification in the air bag.
The engine on the honda accord car shudders and loses power when there is a change in gears.based on my research and after consultation with my mechanic, the honda odyssey had similar problems.the problem was traced to the torque converter.supposedly honda had to implement a software fix for the torque converter on those odyssey's.
Variable valve timing actuator went out and had to be replaced. This was recalled on earlier models. I've seen lots of forums where people with 2010's and 2011's still having this problem. We learned about the problem by researching what the rattling sound could be when we start the car from these forums. The oil light started coming on and the car was losing oil. It started rattling even while driving it or idling at a light. The auto mechanic verified it and we had to pay $900 to have it fixed. If this problem wasn't resolved as honda says it was then we shouldn't be out the cost to fix it.
While driving at highway speed (55 mph) and then slowing down for traffic, the variable timing control actuator apparently stuck.the engine warning light came on followed by white smoke from the tailpipes.there was an immediate lack of power trying to accelerate again.this continued until the car was at a service shop.the mechanic indicated the engine went from 6 cylinders to 3 cylinders (eco mode) but never recovered.the trouble code was: p3400 means that the powertrain control module (pcm) has detected an abnormality in the cylinder deactivation system for engine bank one. Bank 1 denotes the bank of the engine which contains the number one cylinder.this problems appears to be the same as previously reported by other consumers.honda needs to investigate and recall the vtc actuators.
This is the honda accord 2011 ex (v6) model.when moving at very slow speeds, say around 2-4 mph, there sometimes is a flat spot, ie no acceleration when stepping on the accelerator pedal. , at this point thereseems to be a 2 to 3 second hesitation before the care suddenly accelerates and lurches forward.sometime, when this situation occurs, nothing happens when pressing the accelerator; then the accelerator must be completely released and pressed again, or pumped, to get moving and at some point power suddenly returns and thecar lurches forward.this problem seems to occur most often when making a turn, and it is very dangerous when making a left turn as you are sitting almost motionless in the middle of the left lane and oncoming traffic is coming at you and usually moving along briskly.my vehicle, when in this predicament, has not yet been hit by an oncoming car, but there have been some close calls.i have owned this vehicle for 3 years, but live and drive mostly in the suburbs, and this problem occurred infrequently, so i never reported this problem. But lately i have been making daily trips to the city, and this problem occurs every day.it also occurs when waiting at a stop light and then when the light turns green and traffic starts to move, cars start to creep forward at a few mph until it is time to accelerate up to normal traveling speed.and when the creep is very slow, 2-4 mph, and then it is my turn to move out and i hit the gas, i occasionally get the situation as described above.and in this situation i am not making a turn but traveling in a straight line.this is a very dangerous problem!
Engine rattles loudly for about 4 seconds at startup while stationary. I believe the variable valve timing control (vtc) actuator is defective.
On 4/5/19, my wife's honda pilot ex experienced severe engine problems on the road in fairview tn resulting in an inability to accelerate, hesitation when the gas pedal was depressed, and a flashing 'check engine' light.these symptoms were identical to an issue she had with this vehicle in 2017 that necessitated a tow to darrell waltrip honda in franklin tn for repair, and similar to less severe episodes of hesitant acceleration both she and i have experienced with the vehicle since at least 2016. Grassland car care center in franklin tn diagnosed the spark plugs were oil fouled causing a misfire.engine codes p0301, p0302, p0303, p0304, and p0300 resulted from the incident.we have since learned this is a known defect with this model of honda and that the vcm-2 class action lawsuit resulted in a warranty extension of eight years from purchase date. We have an open case with honda of america (case manager: zoe; case #09478660), but are being told that our vehicle is outside the extended eight year warranty by four months.we contend this vehicle was experiencing problems consistent with the warrantied issue well before the 4/5/19 failure, to include the same type of episode supposedly repaired by darrell waltrip honda on 5/1/17.the sudden inability to accelerate on a roadway is a considerable safety concern.we are questioning why this wasn't a safety recall item.we have additional documentation available if needed.
I purchased this vehicle in february 2015. The first thing that i had to fix was the axle ( output shaft ) seal leak which the honda dealer did not want to repair even though the car only had 62,000. Also, it makes a loud noise in the back when i go over the speed bump which is coming from the suspension.in addition, whenever i took the vehicle to ntb for an oil change. The mechanic told me that the rear main seal needs to be replaced because it is starting to leak motor oil. And again, the honda dealer does not want to honor the powertrain warranty on my vehicle despite the low mileage it has. Seems like i need to file a lawsuit against them.
My engine makes a loud rattling sound for 2-3 seconds after a cold start-up, especially after the car sat overnight. After 2-3 seconds, the sound goes away. According to honda tsb, the vtc actuator is faulty and needs to be replaced to resolve the problem. If left untreated, the timing chain can be stretched which leads to reduced fuel economy and possibly other engine problems. Up to the time of this complaint, honda has not yet issued any recall for this problem. My honda dealer quoted me $680 to replace the vtc actuator. My vehicle's warranty has expired so if i want to have it replaced, i will have to pay out of pocket.i really love my accord. I don't understand why a big auto manufacturer like honda hasn't done anything, given this is a common problem which happens to many vehicles already.
I notice two problems with the 2011 accord v6 exl automatic i just bought. 1. Without foot on the accelerator, the car rolls at 10mph speeds. While reversing out of garage this is a big problem. 2. Right around 45mph mark, the car lurches forward briefly before it picks up the acceleration. Both these are consistently reproducible in the car i have.
I just bought a 2011 accord with 2.4l engine and i notice in the mornings on cold start, my engine makes loud rattle noise for few sec. I did research and lots of people having the same engines. It turn out to be engine timing vtc actuator defected.honda issued service bulletin for this but refusing to replace this part.this issue should be recall. It cost between 700-900 dollars to replace it.im about to pay this out of my pocket for something that should be recalled from honda. Please do something about this issue.its all over internet people complaining about this. Its happening on most 2.4l engines.
A design defect that enables oil to enter into engine'x combustion chamber.this leads to premature spark plug degradation and engine malfunction. Essentially, the engine is working much harder than it has to in normal driving conditions. Unfortunately, my daily commute does not consist of climbing through the beautiful rockie mountains, but fighting traffic on i94.thus the oil consumption should be normal, and yet it's not!!
Car hesitates or pauses when accelerating from a stop or from a rolling stop. It frequently happens when making a left or right turn going forward. The engine does not stop but remains in idle mode. Rapid acceleration follows the hesitation.
At approximately 50+ mph the front of the car shakes. This has been going on for almost over an year.i took it to the dealership, said nothing is wrong.it starts to shake so bad that you have to let up on the accelerator and almost stop, before you feel safe enough to continue on. Shaking is the worse for the first 3 miles at the start of the day but never seems to completely goes away.
My 2011 honda accord makes noise on cold starts.on 10/20/15, i picked up my car from honda service and they explained it as noise from the vtc actuator and stated in writing there is no repair yet available from honda.i find this unacceptable and i won't buy a honda again unless they repair this at no charge to avoid any further damage to my vehicle...i have only owned honda accords since 1989.
After 2 years of owning my new 2011 honda accord, i noticed a grinding sound during cold starts that lasted 1-2 seconds and then stops.i have the dealership inspect the problem but they quickly dismissed and said the noise was being made by the vtc and to not worry about the noise.in addition, they said that no harm would be caused by the noise.now i have over 100,000 miles on the car and the noise is on every cold start no matter what the temperature and last for 2-5 seconds.i recently called the dealer and they indicated that if the vtc was the problem (which it has been all along), then i would need to pay in full for the repair since it is out of warranty.
Engine makes loud rattle for approximately 2-3 seconds on cold startup. Research indicates that problem could lead to catastrophic engine failure. Honda has acknowledged this as a problem, however is not offering to fix it. Out of pocket cost is around $800, and consumers should not have to pay for this when it is a manufacturer's defect.

We purchased a honda accord a little over a year ago.recently the air conditioning has failed and we were told by the honda dealer that "a rock probably damaged the condenser"as they found a leak.they refuse to cover it under warranty.they quoted us a repair cost of $841.88.upon inspection we found that there is no protection provided to the condenser to prevent this from happening.further,i researched and found that this is a known and continuous problem that honda has been aware of for years.there is no question it is a design defect.further,it is a safety issue that needs to be corrected a.s.a.p.heat stroke is a serious condition that can be deadly.please contact me at your earliest convenience regarding this, thank you.
Wife was driving at highway speed when car began to violently shake as if engine was misfiring.check engine light came on, then severely reduced power.she was barely able to exit and make it across the access road and into a turn lane with the accelerator to the floor. Car still shook violently as she placed it in park.dealership cannot explain shaking.car only has 4,700 miles and was purchased new from servicing dealer.they said oil was 1.5-2 quarts low so they topped it off.tripped a code for a stuck solenoid in the camshaft timing system so they reprogrammed the pcm and gave the car back to us.this was an extremely dangerous situation as my wife did not have enough power to move the vehicle out of traffic.had there been more traffic in her way or someone following closely, she would have been in an accident.dealer was still puzzled as to the power loss and shaking and just shrugged their shoulders.they said to watch the oil level and if this happens again to bring it back.we hope this does not happen again as it was dangerous and stranded my wife on the side of an interstate for 3 hours waiting on a tow truck.please let us know if this warrants investigation or you need any additional information.

Faulty lumbar support in honda accord se 2011.the lumbar support in the above model is faulty and is resulting in serious back-ache to many drivers (online posts can be checked). Even with zero settings on lmbar support, it protudes outsides resulting in back pain to many including myself. This is also a safety issue as due to uncomfortable position and the resulting pain causes the drivers to move and alter positions of sitting, changing the seat settings while driving. The pain also results in taking mind off traffic and whats happening on the road. The issue is sometimes experienced by many on driving more than 30 miles on the first try. Please investigate.
My driver side visor is not working.i believe it to be a hazard.my mechanic said the toyotas had a similar problem.i did not see any recall notices for this problem.
Left front break fills like it's not breaking properly, makes anoise when breaking at all times slow or fast .i have call honda for this issue and see if more people have complain about this and they said no one else had.i hope no one else has the same problem but if they do so honda can do a recall to fixed the problem
The navigation unit shut off and would turn back on, then an error report came on.
Tpmslight comes on and stays on goes off intermittently with variable time in between !this happens while driving !
"takata recall" i've taken my honda accord to the dealership several times and they are still the same ones from when i bought the car. There excuse is that they don't have the new replacements in yet! same words from the dealership for the last 3yrs along with the inside lighting hasn't worked since 2011.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that he could abnormally hear gasoline fuel splashing around in the fuel tank from outside and inside the vehicle when driving or parked. The contact also stated that when applying the brakes while the fuel tank was full the vehicle would exhibit the splashing sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and the contact was informed that the sound was a normal occurrence. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20.
Brand new 2011 accord v-6 coupe has so many isues.this is the only car i ever owned that you hear gasoline splashing around the tank, when turning left or right the rear suspension squeaks, the transmission bucks like crazy when accelerating and decelerating!clunking noise from the front end. I am getting rid of it. Piece of junk. Do not buy one!been horrible and only had it since 1/1/11.
My catyletic convertors have all gone out at 127,000 miles
As i was completing a left hand turn, i applied pressure to the brake and my car began to accelerate despite my foot being firmly applied to the brake.i continued to maintain pressure to the brake yet the car continued to accelerate where i hit an embankment / tree, i steered the car back onto the road and turned off the ignition.i contacted honda though was given a report indicating that there weren't any diagnostic codes & the honda factory engineer drove the car 5 to 6 miles without acceleration issues.i'm greatly concerned because i drove the car for over 13,000 miles prior to this without having acceleration problems and i've read roughly 18 other complaints with the 2011 accord on this site citing various acceleration problems!just seems to me there should be something more i should be able to do, but i can't afford to just walk away from the car!
Check engine light diagnosed for catalytic converter . Is thisprematureor defective equipment for 5 years and 100,000 miles ?back fires at start and back fires at stopping . Misfire /back fire has been constant for years .

The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While driving approximately 45 mph, the transmission began to slip. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seal around the transmission was causing it to leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000. ..updated 12/20/16
Shortly after i bought the car i quickly noticed that when accelerating from a stop or accelerating through a "rolling stop" the vehicle hesitates or pauses.it frequently happens when going forward or making left/right turns. No warning lights came on when the problem occurs. This problem can occur within minutes or hours of driving.
Rough shift from 2nd to 1st gear only when downshifting on automatic transmission.
The engine on the honda accord car shudders and loses power when there is a change in gears.based on my research and after consultation with my mechanic, the honda odyssey had similar problems.the problem was traced to the torque converter.supposedly honda had to implement a software fix for the torque converter on those odyssey's.
At very slow speeds, there is a 2 to 3 second hesitation in acceleration upon depressing the accelerator.the driver then is inclined to depress the accelerator further.the power returns suddenly at this new faster level & the car tends to lurch forward. Dealer says linkage is electronic & working as expected.i've owned several new hondas & have never experienced this in any others. I consider it dangerous!
While braking to a stop for a red light or to slow down to less than 10 mph to turn and then accelerating to proceed, the engine would hesitate for 2-5 seconds and then function normally.engine did not stop, but remianed in idle mode.hesitation happens at random about 2% of time.new vehicle with under 1500 miles.does not matter if engine is hot or cold.taken to dealer and explained in detail.dealer was unable to duplicate; so nothing was repaired.issue did not cause a warning light or error code.came real close to being hit on a left hand turn when engine failed to accelerate.
It seems that honda had full knowledge of the issue with vtc actuators for years 2008-2013 being defective yet will not issue a recall.they have put out numerous service bulletins regarding the issue.they just recently came it with a replacement piece for the defectives but you are required to pay for it yourself. They should have to replace these at their expense.
The drive shaft axle snapped when i made a left turn while driving.
This issue is related to honda tsb issued for faulty vtc actuator . My car makes a loud grinding sound when started from cold everyday. Https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/sb-10087883-2280.pdfi sent a email to honda support on june 8th 2021, asking if this issue will cause catastrophic engine failure while driving (case id : 12274491) and can cause serious bodily injury? i never received a response. I sent a followup email on june 17th 2021 and still no response.my only worry is that this issue is so much widespread that all accords manufactured between 2008 - 2012 are affected. Serious quality control issue. What if my car suddenly stops in the middle of a busy highway..what if engine completely seized, break apart, due to damage happening over the period of time? i believe that honda understand all these issues and not willing to respond over email, to avoid legal liability. With this complain i would like nhtsa to get a official statement from honda on seriousness of this issue and if its a safety issue (if not fixed), it should fall under recall.
Manual transmission broke on 8 month old brand new accord with 11,500 miles.i have driven manual honda's for over 100,000 in the past with no problems and cannot understand why the clutch breaks at 11,500 miles.honda claims mis-use.not true.must be defect which honda refuses to cover in their new car warranty.due to problem, car was immobilized in traffic.needed to be pushed to side of road and towed.big safety issue to other accord drivers if there is a problem with a manual transmission accord that honda refuses to admit to.

New 2011 honda accord (starting when the car got to about 500 miles on odometer): doesn't decelerate smoothly (gives a bit of a rough "braking" & acceleration action (a bit of a rough ride) & about 100-200rpm increase) through 20mph, then, again through 15mph. Honda dealer says there's nothing wrong because otherwise, the check engine light would go on. This occurs constantly every day, usually after the car has warmed up for about 10 minutes & gone from "cold" to about 45mph speed limit driving. I wanted to make a record of it here for now in case others experience this.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that while parked, she attempted to shift from park into reverse. The gear shifter was very stiff and the contact heard a loud grinding noise. The failure also occurred when shifting from drive into park. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 120.updated 8/29/11 updated 09/26/11
I bought a 2011 honda accord lx, it was delivered with 11 miles. After i drove the car for little over 300 miles it was making a lot of noise.the noise is coming from the transmission and left side suspension when the car is put in reverse.i contact honda of north america and inquire about the loud noise they told me that there is no recall on my car.i then contact the dealership that i bough the car from to check it out. I meet with the service manager and i let him listen to the noise, he then stated that it was normal which i find very strange. About a few days later the loud noise from the transmission also came a new problem a loud clunking noise from the left side front suspension. I contact the dealer and talk to service rep and explain what was going on he check the service record and say it was normal.
The contact owns 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving in cold weather and adding fuel to the vehicle it would hesitate for a few seconds and then began to function normally. The vehicle was taken into the dealer for the same failure twice and they were unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and wanted to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 3,900.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving, a child was able to fasten the seat belt around their neck, but the contact was unable to remove the seat belt from the child's neck. The contact was forced to cut the seat belt with a box cutter. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer, but the manufacturer was contacted in regards to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 3,500 and the current mileage was 3,568.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that the rear passenger seat belt became tangled around his child's leg. As the contact attempted to release the buckle, the seat belt jammed. The contact was forced to cut the seat belt in order to release the child from the restraint. The child cried profusely, but was not injured. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 114,000.
Takata recall. On 3/4/17, the vehicle was serviced at autonation honda in fremont, ca for the passenger side airbag inflator. On 3/16/17 the vehicle was involved in an accident in which it rear-ended another vehicle. The driver side airbag did not deploy, and the seat belt locking system failed to engage.
Bought a brand new honda accord 2011 lx-p in the second week of march.the front seats are very uncomfortable.the lumbar seems to be out of place and hurt the back and neck.firmly believe that the seat design in not correct.unfortunately, did not know about this before buying the car, else would not have gone for one.the seats design needs to be investigated and recalled by honda to fix the problem and save people from the back and neck pains.
Driver seat is causing chronic back pain.the seat has adjustable lumbar but, above that, the seat has a hard section that protrudes directly into my mid back.after a month of ownership, the pain is so bad as to make the car effectively un-drivable.
My current accord is the 4th i've leased since 2002. When the car hit 1,000 miles the springs in the bottom seat cushion started to feel like they were pushing up through the seat. The longer i was in the car the worse it got. It actually became painful to drive. Searching on the internet, i saw that i was not alone. Many complained of the same problem and were told by their dealer that the seats were within specifications and no problem could be found. Sadly, my dealer told me the same, although they made an "adjustment" to the problem that didn't exist and reduced the seat from painful to just really uncomfortable. I'm 6'3". If you sit into the back of the seat you will regret purchasing this vehicle. Honda is in denial about the issue and won't stand behind their product.
Bought accord 2011 se on july 22. After first week of ownership, i found it hard to adjust the driver seat to a confortable position. It started giving me either leg pain or back pain or shoulder/neck pain. The seat feels so hard and impossible to find a good position to drive for more than 10 min. Thanks to the power seta, i kept adjusting the seat while driving but could not find a good position. Called honda, they asked me to call dealer. The dealer advised me to trade in the car. Only if i had felt this during my test drive..ahh....too late now. Not sure what to do. Dont want to loose thousands of dollors in replacing the car, but cant see myself driving this car up to 150,000 miles.
Honda 2011 drivers seat is exceptionally unconfortable to the extent that i have back pain from driving even short trips. I have not yet found a way to eliminate the discomfort. I've tried a back support, and various cushions to no avail. I have had 5 previous honda (2 previous accords, 1 pilot, 1 previous odyssey, and currentlty have an odyssey) models with no complaints.
The contact previously owned a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated while driving at any speed, he would sustain intense back pain and numbness in the left leg which was contributed to the design of front driver's side seat. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to offer any assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the constant problem.the contact no longer owns the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 45.
Back pain seat very uncomfortable.
The front seats in the 2011 honda accord need to be recalled and replaced. It has caused me (and thousands of others online) to have severe back pain. The lower lumbar support sticks out way to far and causes uneven support to your lower and upper back. I have never had back issues, but after driving this car for a week, i am in serious pain. So what are my options? go buy expensive aftermarket pillows that don't work? trade the car back in and lose thousands and thousands of dollars? or maybe i should just live with the pain and absorb the cost of a chiropractor? normally i wouldn't complain, but this is a serious issue. Just look it up online. This seriously needs to be fixed asap or honda could get sued. There is enough info out there and upset customers to cause honda a huge legal nightmare.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that the driver seat was extremely hard and was making it difficult to sit properly while driving. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised her that the vehicle was designed in that manner and the construction of the vehicle could not be modified. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
Seats in 2011 accord are extremely uncomfortable resulting in me being diagnosed with sciatica.have had severe leg and back pain since purchasing this car in march and am otherwise healthy.honda denies issue despite hundreds of similar complaints online.
Uncomfortable driver's seat in honda accord 2011 lx sedan . Can't drive for more than 45 minutes at a stretch without squirming /shifting in seatand this may cause accidents . The driver's seat causes back pain plus thigh pain after extended driving or 45 minutes lumbar support pillows, thigh support pillows does not help much with back or leg pain. I had a camry solara and i own a mercedes and they don't give me back problems.
Back pain beginning shortly after purchase.initially just in car; eventually became chronic.this lead to chiropractor care, physiologist, x-ray, mri, shots, pain meds and likely will include surgery for 2 bulging discs/sciatica.i have pain in my lower back, extending down one leg and numbness in my foot as well as spasms.my doctor advised me to sell this car; but it will be at considerable loss.i have had to give up driving this car but since my pain is constant; it no longer matters what i drive. We purchased honda because they have a great reputation for longevity; but we didn't count on how life altering that decision would be.
I want to make you aware of how new ntsa regulations for the design of head restraints have injured me physically and financially. I traded in a 2000 toyota for a 2011 honda, only to find that the head restraint gave me severe neck muscle spasms. The dealer explained that since 2008, all new cars must follow updated nthsa regulations in head restraints. I went to many dealerships to find a head restrain that i could tolerate. All of them had the same pain-producing, federally-mandated style. Finally, after much searching, i found a ford suv that had a more tolerable head restraint. I was very relieved because i was afraid that i would have to buy an old used car in order to continue driving. I have mild neck arthritis, and your new style of head restraints caused me such discomfort that i was willing to sell my 5 day old honda accord (with 225 miles) and lose thousands of dollars (due to depreciation)!in addition, i worry that the head restraints are hurting other people. I am a physician, and i know that chronic repetitive stress can sometimes lead to severe injury. With so many dealers and customers complaining about the new head restraints "not being comfortable," i suspect that the new restraints are causing neck strain to many people. I just happen to be more susceptible because of my neck arthritis. Perhaps you can use me as a sentinel chicken to realize the problem that you have created.please consult with your advising physicians about whether the nthsa could be inadvertently causing neck strain and eventual neck injury to millions of people. I don't want this experience to happen to anyone else. Regulations should help not hurt. Yours have hurt me physically and financially. Please allow manufacturers to redesign the head restraints so that they are comfortable as well as safe, or at least give options to people like me with medical problems.
2011 honda accord driver seat is extremely uncomfortable.i am constantly adjusting the seat, but unable to obtain an acceptable seating position.lumbar support is very hard and cannot be adjusted to my satisfaction.i find the discomfort with the seating very distracting.
Drivers seat causes unbearable pain and damage to cervical spine, lumbar spine and legs. Poor design places spine in uncomfortable and damaging position and causes numbness and nerve damage to my legs. I am in severe pain whenever driving car honda should replace or repair seats or compensate owners for cost of trading in car.
I purchased the 2011 honda accord coupe used from norm reeves honda in cerritos, ca. I have been experiencing extreme leg and back pain after long commutes. I am completely afraid to continue driving the vehicle. I had to resort to driving a company car instead, the pain still exists after 3 weeks of not driving the vehicle. Please investigate into this, there are hundreds of consumers affected by the seats. Honda will not do anything.
The drivers side seat is very uncomfortable due to over protruding lumbar support.took car into dealership to ask about adjusting the support and was told there was no way to do it and this is my only option.was told that lumber adjustment was available in higher trim model.this seems to be a very basic function and don't see why i would need to buy a top of the line vehicle to have the adjustment available.it is so bad that it is actually hurting my lower back when i'm driving for extended periods of time.
The active head restraints moved into the forward position for no apparent reason (i.e., there was no rear collision). It happened first with the driver's seat and separately, at some later point, with the front passenger's seat. The restraints were supposed to automatically move back to their normal position (according to the owner's manual), but that didn't happen - they remained locked in the forward position. I took the vehicle to schaumburg honda in illinois and the technician said that the seat frames should be replaced. He said the problem indicated that the active head restraints might fail to work properly in a collision. I decided to report this because it could be a safety issue for other drivers with similar honda models/seat frames.
I owned a 2003 accord and loved it.when it came time to get a new car, i only wanted a new accord.i didn't even test drive it.what a mistake!for the first week, every time i drove the car i tried to readjust the seat to make it more comfortable.nothing worked.i have beautiful leather seats, but i sit on a wedge and have a lumbar pillow stuffed behind my back.my hip and back were thrown out of line to the point that 4 months after buying the car, i was using a cane.i no longer use the cane, but i no longer take this car for long drives.the seats cause pain in my back, hips and legs.in my 2003 accord i was able to tip the seat so my knees would raise up or down.the new "improved" seats did away with that feature.in addition, the head restraint pushes my head forward and down causing neck pain.my pregnant daughter is in the market for a 4 door car to replace her 2 door car.i offered to give her the accord and pay to have it shipped to l.a. For her.on a recent trip home for a wedding, she drove the car for half an hour and refused the gift.can you imagine how bad the seats are to turn down a 1 year old car with 11,000 miles on it because it's so uncomfortable??honda has lost me as a customer.when i called honda to complain several times, they made me feel as if i were the only one who had ever complained of this problem.
The 2011 honda accord is excellent car but the seats are incredibly a nightmare. The seats are very uncomfortable in fact i had to seek the help ofa chiropractor. You cannot drive the car 3 miles before you start feeling neck pains, shoulders and upper back. Head rest and the seat curves makes one more miserable on the wheels. I hope something will be done to help this sad news.
The driver seat is very uncomfortable.it causes numbness on the legs and the buttock, and lower back pain even with a short trip of about half an hour.cannot find a comfortable adjustment with the 10 way power seat.i find myself keep shifting sitting position in an attempt to find a more comfortable position.this is very distracting on the driving.
This vehicle has killed my back, and that too without any accident. It has the most awful, poorly designed seats.for over two years i thought my bad back was a problem due to my work posture and diet. And i tried every thing i could think of, along with monthly visits to a chiropractor.i connected the problem to the car quite accidentally. I happen to change cars for a few months and my back problems just vanished.and now i can notice how my back goes out of whack the moment i drive in this car, whether a passenger or a driver. I cannot last more than a mile or two. If i go longer than ten minutes, i have to visit the chiropractor the next day.though the car is not wrecked, it has wrecked my back.
I have been to several dealers and i get the same answer. If i figure out how to fix my seat problem it will void my warranty. I can not get the seat on a 90 degree angle.it is cutting off my circulation and my foot goes numb. I have a knee replacement and can not get my leg straight enough so my knee does not start to hurt. Between the numbness and the knee pain i am afraid of having an accident due to the angle of the seat. I have tried all sorts of pillows, etc. Does not help. If i replace the seat with one that will shift to a right angle it will void the warranty, so will putting a wedge of any kind under the back of the seat.i am heading for an accident and apparently i can not do anything to fix the situation without giving myself another big problem.i can not imagine that i am the only person with this problem. Some people that have had accidents may not ever realize that the cause was - numb leg and foot due theseat cutting off the circulation. I purchased this car in mid august 2014.
The front seats in my 2011 honda accord lx-p give me leg cramps and lower back pain.the seat bottom is very hard and unforgiving, and the lumbar support is too pronounced.i test drove the car for 15-20 mins. And did not notice this.but i sure noticed it on my 30+ min. Commute to work the first time.i've tried numerous seat adjustments and seat cushions to no avail.i'm 6'2" 170 lbs. So i don't consider myself an abnormally sized person.i actually considered trading in the car after a few weeks for a substantial loss.i really hope honda does something to address these uncomfortable front seats.
This model car has the most awful, poorly designed seats. I am vary sure people will get sever back problem with this kind of seat design.
I am having major low back and tail bone pain from the front seats. I have a hard time even driving 15 miles to work. The seat issues make it impossible to travel far distances and i need to rent a car. I drive a lot for my job, so i'm in the car most of the day. The pain and discomfort are in every position the seat can go. There is no relief.
The seats in my car i find to be horribly uncomfortable. I am not sure this site is appropriate for the compliant, but thought i would try. The headrest is not ergonomic at all, it pushes my head forward when i sit back. This causes literally a pain in my neck from strain, and simply a danger since the annoyance is a distraction from driving.
Brand new honda accord lx 2011 worst seat ever back pain lower back pain everyday with single commute to work it is horrible.
1.very uncomfortable driver seat, causes serious back pain from mid to long drive.2.pain occurs every day during daily commute.3. Only solution seems to be complete seat replacement with different design.
Seats in 2011 honda accord are unbearableespecially passenger seat. After riding for a short period of time back hurts & remains sore afterwards. Took the car to dealership where purchased(still under warranty), was told nothing is wrong. Its the seats design & would not do anything about it. Service manager told me to try using a pillow to sit in a different position. I don't think u should have to use a pillow for comfort in a $ 28000 car.
Just purchased a 2011 honda accord.the drivers seat in this car causes you legs to go numb after about 30 miles (a definite safety issue).since experiencing the problem i have found countless forums online with people experiencing the same thing, this problem has been going on since 2008 apparently and honda has not addressed this issue.this seat should be recalled immediately.if having your feet fall asleep while driving isn't a safety issue i don't know what is.*ln
Front driver seat lumbar painful to sit in for any amount of time (now that my back is in spasm created by the seat) due to the misalignment and over inflated lumbar support bag, even when completley deflated. This is causing siatica and lower limb numbness and tingling related to spinal nerve compression.driving in a constant distracted manner due to severe pain and numbness increases the possibility of an accident due to distraction.i was distracted :last night trying to readjust the seat for the 50,000th time to decrease the pain, and i almost hit a jaywalker!so, i have seen so many of these complaints about these seats . Why don"t you do anything to help us?
I just purchased my new 2011 honda accord ex manual transmission car on 8/12. I'm very satisfied with the car except for two things. The front seats are very hard and the headrest is at a severe angle that forces my head forward with my chin down. I normally sit with my back against the back rest with the back rest at a fairly upright position. In my other cars (1994 saturn sl2 and 2002 hyundai santa fe), this was not a problem. With the 2011 honda accord my neck gets stiff after about 30 minutes. There is no adjustment allowed on the headrest and the only relief is to set the back rest to a reclined position and sit upright with my back away from the back rest. I know other 2011 accord owners are complaining about this problem but no response has been made from honda. I've complained to my dealership about this problem but they have no solution. I need honda to respond by providing a replacement headrest with a less angle of incline and/or a headrest that allows for adjustment to other angles. The front seats are very uncomfortable. During the 10 minute test drive my wife and i had no problems with these seats. During a 1 hour trip we both realized we were very fatigued and our legs were starting to become numb. On the return 1 hour trip home we felt the same sensations and by time we returned home we were both feeling back and leg pain and fatigue. I've been assured by two sales people at the dealership that the seats will 'break in' and become softer and more comfortable. I've never had this problem in the other new cars i've driven or rented. I've never heard other drivers with this problem in their new cars either. I cannot believe a new car with many great features and a great driving experience can have such uncomfortable seats. I also understand that these seats have airbags installed and cannot simply be replaced with non-standard seats or with seat cushions or covers. This cannot be normal and should be resolved by honda.
Car seats are very uncomfortable making driver to experience severe back pain and legs to go to sleep.
The driver seat cause back pain, back injuries and require ibuprofen to tolerate driving the car.several of hundreds of consumer complaint to honda and even though the local dealer acknowledge the problem.honda is refusing to acknowledge the defective seat that cause back injuries and replace the seat.
After purchasing car drove home after a few days started noticing pain shooting down legs and legs going numb. Also causing back pain and on occasions pain shooting down arm. Contacted local honda dealer and was told that they did not have a fix. This is a danger because it makes it difficult to concentrate on driving and sometimes you cannot feel the fuel or brake pedals.
The passenger and driver's seats are extremely uncomfortable.these seat are going to cause back problems.honda should fix these immediately.

I have spent over $2500 in brakes over the past 2 years and this time when purchasing new tires for my car, i was told it needed front and back brakes again!!!i did not put them on the car this time as my budget was exceeded with the tires.now, it needs a catalytic converter which i will need in order to pass inspection.i am ready to give this car back to the dealer in which i got it from!!!!
Left front break fills like it's not breaking properly, makes anoise when breaking at all times slow or fast .i have call honda for this issue and see if more people have complain about this and they said no one else had.i hope no one else has the same problem but if they do so honda can do a recall to fixed the problem
For the past two and half years, i have had to replace my brakes at almose every oil change.this time, it has only been about 6 weeks since they have been replaced
Brake rotors are warped and cause you to lose control in curves and wet or low traction conditions.
While traveling on the highway, i noticed excessive vibration on braking.i took the car to the honda dealer and was informed that the front rotors were warped. This was the second time i had this occurred in this car.at approximately 18,000 miles i had the same situation.honda resurfaced the rotors and this problem disappeared. Honda is refusing to change the rotors.this is a safety and manufacturing defect that honda should recall.please attend to this matter urgently.
This honda accord has less than 20k miles and the rotors have been turned already. The technician at carey paul honda in snellville, ga, said the rotors were warped. This is premature brake wear. At the time of this service, the back brakes had 10% wear; the front, 30% wear. I am concerned that there will be metal fatigue with this obvious defect which may cause the brakes to fail.

The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While driving unknown speeds, the steering wheel became uncontrollable. The steering wheel failed and turned in a circle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to pohanka honda (1772 ritchie station ct, capitol heights, md 20743, (301) 899-7800). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 104,000. The vin was not available.
Heard a whirring noise and smoke started coming out of the right side of my engine, my rack n pinion power steering was leaking and my car almost caught on fire.had the car towed to my mechanic and he stated there is a crack in the rack n pinion which is leaking fluid, estimated 600-1200 dollars to fix it.i looked online and there was a previous recall for this problem on another year but not the 2011.
The dealership advised that the power steering rack was leaking the fluid and would have to be replaced. I know there was a recall for this same thing on earlier model honda accords. I wonder if it's still an issue as my car is just over 3 years old and only 46,000 miles.
Transmission makes a loud whining noise.dealer diagnosed a power steering rack fluid leak.i'm told very unusual for only approx. 46k miles. No recalls for this year model yet.the repair estimate is over $1500.my 36k mile warranty is expired so dealer won't cover the repair.i bought a honda because i heard and believed they were very good cars.i no longer have that belief!i will not purchase another honda.no other maker has required extensive repair work at such low mileage.
I was pulling slowly out of a drive-through bank facility onto a one-way street with no traffic, and suddenly my car started to turn to the side. I had no control over the steering and the car ping-ponged from curb to curb, striking several stationary objects and a parked car.
2011 honda accord. Consumer writes in regards to excessive steering vibration.the consumer stated the steering vibration traveled throughout the vehicle.the consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer on five separate occasions, to have the problem corrected, but to date, they have been unable to do so.
2011 honda accord. Consumer states problem with steering and brakes *tgw
This car currently with 20349 miles.i was driving on the highway for over 50 mi.all of sudden there's no power steering.i managed to drive home in few miles.i check the steering fluid still full.please check is this problem is the same recall with 2007 honda accord model??
Had a loss of steering due to power steering fluid being too low because of a leak in the rack and pinion.
I lost power and i notice battery light indicator came on after making a right turn while going 5 mph while raining in a puddle of water. Shortly after which, maybe 5 seconds, i regained power back.this has happened twice while turning during a rain, although it does not happen every time it rains.
I have took my car to the shop because it keeps speeding up and down and they said they didn'tcouldn't find anything wrong with the transmission and it's still doing it and i had the transmission fluid change hoping it would help it but it didn't .. They changed the fluid but not the filter.. Now the transmission seal is leaking.. I have had this car to the shop several times.. The car speeds up going up or down hills or driving straight on flat roads.
My car has a steering shimmy and vibration problem that began as mild and is now severe and vibrates the entire vehicle.honda balanced my tires several times, then replaced all 4 michelin pilot tires with 4 new ones.those had to be repeatedly balanced and then were replaced a 2nd time in less than 1,000 miles.the 2nd set was repeatedly balanced with no results.both front axles were replaced and both front rotors were replaced with the vibration never changing.honda's area rep agreed to replace wheels and tires with after market bbs wheels and bridgestone serenity tires to rule out wheel and tire problems.problem did not change and has now gotten worse as the mileage increases.(9k miles now).you can google 2011 honda accord shimmy problem and see that the problem is widespread in the usa and canada, but honda usa is telling me that i am the only one.i have bought 4 brand new accord exl v6 cars in 8 years, have loved these cars, and am very surprised that honda is flat out lying to me.my dealer has been helpful and supportive, and the area rep has been diligent in his efforts, too.however honda usa is stonewalling me, by not returning calls, and delay after delay.i have asked for a buyback under lemon law statute, as the dealer says that they cannot fix this problem, that they definitely acknowledge.(they replaced tires 3 times, and wheels and axles once) honda usa is taking the position that this is not a big deal, but the vehicle is not safe to drive. Honda usa told me to take the car back to the dealer today, but the dealer doesn't want it and says that honda is done chasing the problem.can you help me understand my options, and if your administration can assist me in getting honda's attention at (hopefully) a higher level of management?i sincerely appreciate any suggestions that you can offer.
I purchased a new 2011 accord ex-l and after 6 months of light driving (city and hwy) i noticed a shimmy/shaking in the steering wheel. I took the car back to the dealership 5 times for this issue and they replaced one tire and one wheel, balanced the tires numerous times but they were unable to resolve the issue. Now the dealer refuses to acknowledge there is a problem saying it is not a big deal and that all accord have this issue. I even met with the factory rep and he noticed the problem but said that honda and dealer can't resolve it as it is not related to tires, wheels or drive train. But could not offer any explanation as to what causes the shimmy saying the shimmy is "normal" and it's not a big deal. I've asked for a new set of tires and wheels but they refused to do it saying they can't afford the cost and it will not make the car drive differently. Very disappointed with honda and dealer.
This is not a safety complaint but more of a defect.i have a 2011 honda accord and it had less than 50,000 miles when i noticed the issue.i have leather interior and the arm rest on the driver's door bubbles in extreme heat.once it cools off, it lays back down some, but never flat as it should be.it is concerning that this is happening on a car that is not that old.upon googling this issue, i see that there are many honda owners who have complained of the same thing.i took it to the dealer and was told that it is not covered under the extended warranty and it is very concerning especially when the dealer (prioroity honda in chesapeake, va) says that its the glue and it will be $150.00 to repair.really....i would have been best off getting cloth interior.this is the 3rd honda i have owned, but afraid it may be my last.
I was backing into a parking space and suddenly my car accelerated.i side swiped one car; hit the cement block at front of the parking space and then went about 10 feet and hit the side of a pickup and finally the car stopped. No one was injured, however my car was totaled
The car have a crows feet cracks all over and went to mel rapton honda body shop and said that the car have a problem with paint from factory , nothing from honda recalls regarding the problem , no one wants to help , this is the last honda car will buy in our family
1st issue:interior leather on door panel bubbles when in sun and has started to com off drivers door side.2nd issue: outside front cover/panel of car fell off due to worn plastic bolts while vehicle in motion.3 issue: while parked and removing items from trunk, trunk came down and hit me on the forehead.also, truck will not stay down unless i continuous slam it which has caused damage to lock. Bump with slight cut to forehead.
Our car was making a left turn and was struck by other car in the right front. One passenger was in front seat. The passenger air bag fully deployed preventing her from impacting windshield.the driver air bag only partially deployed (approximately 1/3 size of passengers). The driver was severely bruised by seatbelts.
The driver side sun visor doesn't snap back into place after use.i use it to help protect my eyes from the sun while driving, or to hold up the sun screen when parked.instead of snapping into place after use, it dangles down about 2" in front of my face.i'm over 6' tall and the dangling visor can block by view.honda had a similar issue with the civic model a few years before and they obviously haven't fixed the poor design.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that the tension rod, that held the trunk open, fractured. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Interior water leak on driver side when it rains or car is washed.airbag is getting wet.dealer cannot fix
10 hours after the car was last driven or touched, the door spontaneously caught on fire. It seems the spark came from the door locks and power window master switch area. I have video of it happening. It burned for nearly 10 minutes. The entire door is almost completely melted.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While unloading the trunk, it independently shut. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to poway honda (13747 poway road, poway, ca 92064) where it was diagnosed that the rod fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
Notice large amount of paint chipping off while driving and while parked and washing it with water hose. It's noticeably a bad paint job because it's just 7 years old with large paint patches chipping off.
I was driving on i-75 near ruskin florida when the driver's side window imploded for no known reason.florida highway patrol responded and could not see any evidence of the vehicle being struck by any foreign object.glass ended up in several places including behind me (the driver and sole occupant), under the driver's seat, the far rear right seat and floorboard.i have photos. This happened around 6:40 p.m., july 11, 2016.i have contacted honda and they refused to do anything about it..i feel that this is a severe safety issue and should be investigated.i have additional photos
I was pulling slowly out of a drive-through bank facility onto a one-way street with no traffic, and suddenly my car started to turn to the side. I had no control over the steering and the car ping-ponged from curb to curb, striking several stationary objects and a parked car.
My honda accord 2 door coupe's sunroof shattered with no explanation when i was driving in a small city highway. At first, i thought it was my large rear window but when i looked in my rearview mirror and saw shards of glass flying behind me i come to find out it was my sunroof. I did not have it open and there was no car or truck in front of me to explain this "exploding sunroof". I was concerned for the safety of others approaching behind me and also for my safety so i pulled over and learned that my sunroof was shattered. I had to get to work so i was not able to take the car to the dealer. This was very shocking as i was driving 65 mph and the "explosion" could easily have killed a driver that may have less "nerves" or health issues then i, luckily i was able to control my emotions and pull over safely without hurting myself or anyone as there was a car next to me and i had to slow down in order for them to pass by in front of me. This is a concern for me as i understand that the sunroof tempered glass is coming thinner now in order to make the automobile lighter. This definitely has to be addressed as i believe this is a very dangerous item that are being put in automobiles and could possibly endanger the passengers and others near an "exploding" sunroof automobile as glass was "flying" out and may have hurt anyone close to the vehicle having this unfortunate occurrence such as mine. Luckily no one was behind me and even if someone would have been, i hate to think "what if" their windows were open and shards of glass flying out from a car with a shattering sunroof hit their eyes or any passenger or even a pedestrian that may have been near the car as the wind was also very strong that morning that this happened to me. This needs to be addressed with all automobiles with sunroofs. Those reading this should also "google" or watch "youtubes" on exploding sunroofs!!
The trunk on the 2011 honda accord does not stay up unless you push it all the way up. I was loading a bag into the trunk and the trunk came down and hit me on my forehead. I received a cut forehead. This is a safety hazard and someone could get seriously hurt. My wife was hit a couple of times and i was hit. If a short woman/child can not push the trunk all the way up, it could come down and cause a serious accident. Please investigate this serious safety hazard. A modification can be made by installing a door holding device available in many other vehicles. I brought the car into honda and they say there is nothing they can do. There are no safety warnings on the trunk.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. The contact stated that during inclement weather, water leaked into the vehicle between the roof and door frame and rubber seal. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The trunk lid on my wife's 2011 honda accord came down and hit my forehead and caused a cut and bleeding. The honda trunk lid does not stay up in any position other than all the way up. They have no safety devices installed on the truck lid as other vehicles have. This trunk lid has hit my wife and i a few times. When we push it up, we expect it to stay up in all positions like other cars. This is a unsafe condition that could cause a serious accident to anyone not familiar with this situation. I went to the honda dealer and also wrote to their headquarters and they said that there is nothing they can do about the trunk lid. "it would need a modification and we don't do that". Please look into this serious safety problem. The power of the lid coming down so fast cloud cause serious injuries, to adults and children.
The contact owns a 2011 honda accord. While driving approximately 25 mph, the front passenger tire detached from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ball joint was loose and caused the tire to separate from the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

2011 honda accord wheel bearings both front wheel bearings went bad at 60000 miles. This vehicle was used by my daughter for commuting to college. In a worst case scenario a bad wheel bearing can seize up and cause an accident. In motion the car was very loud while driving. This repair cost $700.00 and was not covered under warranty. Owning multiple vehicles of numerous makes and models never had a wheel bearing go bad. Honda did not contact notifying of the problem.

The contact owns a 2011 honda odyssey. The contact stated that when turning in either direction, the vehicle would exhibit an abnormal knocking noise from the front end. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic that located the failure at the front end passenger side axle. The dealer replaced the right front axle, but the failure was not corrected the vehicle continues to make the knocking noise while turning to left, or right. The manufacturer took a report n012010-01-0301268 they advised a field manager will contact him. The vehicle has not been repaired. The vehicle will be taken back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 100 and the current mileage 1,750.

The contact owned a 2011 honda accord. While driving at an unknown speed, the rear passenger side tires failed and caused the driver to enter into oncoming traffic. A head on collision occurred and the driver and passenger side frontal air bags deployed. The pressure from the deployment caused major injuries to the driver and passenger for which medical attention was received. The driver suffered injuries to the brain, a broken nose, a broken arm, and a laceration to the knee. The passenger was in a coma and sustained massive facial cuts, lacerations to the head, and the right eye was moved out of place. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
My car started having problem when i purchased it in 2011.the car would run sluggish.i took it in for schedule maintenance and complained about the problem.i wasgiven the run around for the last 7 years.i complained it was a defect from the beginning. Finally the car started to make rattling sounds.i took it in and was told i had an oil leak.i was furious and told them that it is that same [xxx] problem i had for 7 years.my car has 80000 miles.the dealer than told me i needed to change trans oil.i been bringing in my car for maintenance for the last 7 years and never did anyone tell me about oil leaks and trans oil issues.i complained about the sluggish performance and they completely ignored this issue.they kept the car and finally found out the problem my car had for 7 years.it had a bad timing belt.i told them it was a defect from the factory and it should be covered through my warranty. The car was sold to me defected! the dealer told it will not cover the cost to fix it. I paid for itand now the car runs perfect.iam writing to you because i should not have paid to fix the problem because the car had a defect from the beginning.i hope you can help me with this issue.again i complained about the problem and the dealer did nothing to help me. I lost power and i notice battery light indicator came on after making a right turn while going 5 mph while raining in a puddle of water. Shortly after which, maybe 5 seconds, i regained power back.this has happened twice while turning during a rain, although it does not happen every time it rains.

The car accelerates on its own, when you put it on p it stays fully accelerated. When the vehicle is stationary. In motion is doing the same thing
Water leak in the interior of the car.anytime it rains, water leaks through the top section of the driver's side curtain airbag and starts dripping.
Sunroof exploded.cost of repair to glass and repainting roof, deck lid, antenna, spoiler, and right quarter panel was over $2,400.car had 61,000 miles on it.driving with cruise set at 70 mph and outside temperature at 9:30 a.m. Was 63 degrees.
Vehicle factory radio changes stations on its own and unexpectedly. This happens when the vehicle is stopped or moving. Vehicle heavily consumes oil. It requires 1.5 - 2 quarts of oil be added between scheduled oil changes.
My catyletic convertors have all gone out at 127,000 miles
The rear window of my 2011 honda accord just exploded for no apparent reason. After searching the internet, i found that this has happened to a number of people with different makes and models of automobiles and that the most likely cause is defective rear window defroster wires. We were moving about 5 mph on a city street
When driving my 2011 honda v6 elx, purchased 1/21/15 i have experienced anintermittent hesitation in many situations. While slowing in traffic,at a stoplight or sign, making a left turn, there is a acceleration gap. This occurs when i'm ready to go and reach speeds upward of 15-40 mph, depending on the situation. There's just nothing at the peddle. I must let off and quickly re- apply the peddle again when it finally accelerates! now that i've read these complaints i see several others with the exact same issue. This must be addressed right away! it is very dangerous if you can't get out of the way of oncoming traffic or some other situation while in motion. It's occurred at intersections with no 4 way stop signs, also in the middle of a 3 lane busy boulevard waiting to make a left turn. How many accidents must occur before you pursue this?this needs a recall investigation. Other than this, the vehicle has no other mechanical/electrical issues.
Iown a 2011 honda accord. While driving and pressing the gas the vehicle would hesitate for a couple of seconds and then go.other times itaccelerates prematurely while driving.

The failure mileage was 100,000. Invalid vin.
Vehicle suffers from an un-commanded acceleration/throttle problem which is completely reproducible.it affects the low speed behavior of the vehicle particularly during turns where there is potential for loss of control.the defect was confirmed by honda staff when road testing it versus other similar new vehicles.i have documentation from honda to corroborate that.in any case, at this point, honda is either unable or unwilling to address and resolve this safety defect.
I was parking my 2011 honda accord coupe in a space in a parking lot, feathering the brake and about to come to a complete stop.suddenly the car revved up and accelerated forward.the engine raced as if the throttle had been floored.in about 2 feet of space it accelerated enough to jump about a 6-inch curb where it hit a woody bush, which stopped its forward motion.the consumer has since returned the vehicle to the dealer.updated 11/03/11
The second day after i bought my carinoticed that the car hesitates or pauses when accelerating from a stop or from a rolling stop. It frequentlyhappens when making left or right turns going forward. The engine does not stop but remain in idle mode. No warning lights come on.

My sunroof exploded while driving down the interstate with approximately 1/3 of the window blowing out while it was fully closed.i was driving on an elevated interstate without any cars around me.the sunroof had not been previously hit by a rock.the explosion sounded like a shotgun firing, shocking all 3 of the adults in the vehicle.the initial honda dealership stated i was hit by a rock without seeing the vehicle.a second dealership said they could not determine why the sunroof shattered.corporate honda has stated the window is my problem and contact my insurance company.
Driving down the interstate there was a loud explosion. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the glass from the sunroof flying off into the road. The truck behind me had to swerve to miss the debris. We were in an open area - no bridges or overpasses. We stopped, looked at the damage, turned around at the next exit and came back to look at the road. There was no debris, just pieces of glass in the road. There were no other chips or nicks on the car body. I had hand washed the car the day before and there were no chips in the sunroof. Honda dealer refused to cover under warranty, although they had seen the same thing happen to an odyssey. They could not explain to me how this could happen. About 2/3 thirds of the sunroof broke off. Luckily we had the cover door closed or we could have been hit with broken glass. Apparently they are using cheap lighter weight unlaminated glass which does not hold up. The weather was in the 80's and cloudy. The vehicle had been in the garage overnight. This is a definite safety hazard .

The sunroof opened on its own, while car was parked. It was during a snowstorm and extreme cold with high winds and below zero windchills.

The contact stated the tire pressure monitoring sensor (tpms) illuminated and would not turn off. The contact checked the tire pressure and stated that each tire had air and were not flat or low. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 144,311.
Our car was making a left turn and was struck by other car in the right front. One passenger was in front seat. The passenger air bag fully deployed preventing her from impacting windshield.the driver air bag only partially deployed (approximately 1/3 size of passengers). The driver was severely bruised by seatbelts.
