Takata recall

Look at my airbags pls.

Driver seat position sensor harness is damaged.this isthe same issue as noted in 2004 to 2005 recalled accords.

I was involved in an accident and my airbags never deployed. A police report was filed and the other car got ticketed. I was driving down the road and a car pulled in front of me and i t-boned them. Not sure why my airbags didn't deploy.also, since 2012 as i accelerate and press the gas pedal my car shudders, like its skipping. Not sure why but it's not right and shouldn't do this.

I had a blow out and passenger airbags came out and seatbelt locked up. Driving about 40 miles on a straight away.

The airbag indicator (srs) comes off and on while driving for the past two months. This has occurred when the car has immediately started or driving on the street, and highway. I went to john eagle honda on saturday, january 20th.i was told they reset the sensor.it has come on at least 4 times since then .it came on twice today.i was attempting to bring it to john eagle honda at 6pm today 1/25/2018, but jessie said there were no technicians to look at it.i'm returning the car back to john eagle honda on friday, january 26th.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator was illuminated. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v182000 (air bags). The vehicle was taken to flow honda of burlington (336-584-4870, located at 2920 s church st, burlington, nc 27215) where the technician repaired the recall, but stated that the air bag indicator could not be repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not provided.

While waiting to have our airbag recall done the ssr light continued to go off and on . We thought it was due to the airbag recall on the vehicle . After the recall was done , the ssrlight continue to stay on . The service department at honda said it was the airbag sensor in the seat that needed to be replaced. It would cost $290.00 to fix this. I investigated online and found many issues with the airbag sensor that did have recalls on them. The 2006honda accord was not listed for a recall for this issue but, found many customers with complaints with this same issue. On nhtsa reports they had a article stating honda recalls 81,000.00 accords over airbag sensor. They were recalling 2004-05 accord sedans. They need to extend this to 2006 vehicles.

I took my car for the recall and now the airbag sensor light comes on and off and occasionally will stay on. I take it back to the same dealership who charged me $150 for diagnostic to say it's a short or something now in the same passenger air bag they installed. It will cost $300 to fix. Seems like others are having this issue so is this a scam?this needs to be corrected and i need a refund of the money i've paid.

I have had the airbags checked and replaced at brandon honda and i got an airbag light that won't go off and am worried about maybe side airbag problems and won't get a call back from brandon honda in birmingham alabama to get it checked out or repaired the vehicle has been in operation.

Took my vehicle in for air bag recall, a few months later, the srs light came on. Took vehicle back to same dealer that had replaced air bag and now i'm told that the srs unit has gone bad and no safety features (air bags, seat belts) will work if i am in a crash. I can pay over $730 to fix this unit. Additionally, i am asked when my battery had died- which it hasn't died. However, the only time in the last few years when my battery was touched was when they disconnected it to replace the drivers recalled air bag. Then i'm told that this major safety component is not covered under any warranty from honda and was in no way connected or effected by the air bag replacement they did a few months prior. I find this incredibly suspect and have noticed others posting the same complaint about replaced airbags and srs unit replacements. So, even after this recall, i have a car that isn't safe and i feel that this new issue is a result of the earlier work with the airbag replacement.please, please, please look into this relationship to see if recall replacement units or procedures are causing this srs unit to malfunction. We're having to pay almost $1000 to fix this and i don't feel that we'd be in this predicament without some fault of honda or the technicians at my local dealer.

I was in a head-on collision that totaled my car.the airbags did not deploy, causing my head to hit the car.it was a 2006 honda accord that i bought new.

Vehicle recalled on two occasionsand service performed both times by honda dealer for takata airbag problem.airbag light on dashboard is constantly illuminated indicating a problem with the airbag system. Problem has persisted despite recall service.honda acknowledges system is not functioning but will not accept any responsibility for this issue.light remains on whenever vehicle is running indicating that airbag safety system is not operating properly.last recall performed

Please let me know if there has been an airbag recall on the above captioned vehicle.i have had no accidents.just put the date in above because it was required.thank you.

We were driving our 2006 honda accord ex-l (4cyl) and the srs light came on and we have previously (6 months before) had the airbags replace under the takata recall. We took the vehicle in immediately and found out that the airbag control module had failed and has to be replace at $650.00.i have never had an airbag control module fail and i am surprised that honda is not covering this safety issue.

I have the takata airbags that are defective according to consumers magazine(jan, 2015 issue, pp.56-57.my local honda dealer, muller honda of highland park, insist the car is safe and the vehicle does not have a defective bag and; therefore, nothing needs to be done for the vehicle.i have an appointment with the dealership set for tuesday, 12/23/14 to check a light that is lit up constantly for the airbags.thank you for looking into this.warm regards,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I need to know how and why my vehicle is considered safer than the other 2006 accords. This was the explanation that i got when i called honda customer service at 800 999-1009. I have spoken with american honda and they have distanced themselves from the dealer. I have spoken to the gm of tampa honda, [xxx]and the service manager [xxx] and they both say one has nothing to do with the other. I feel thati am a victim of deceptive trade practice by tampa honda. I advised them that i am currently at risk driving the car and they referred me to their attorney [xxx] and said there is nothing for them to do. I will have my attorney write them a letter of disclosure this week. I would appreciate any assistance from the nhtsa. I own 3 honda avcord ex 2004, 1005 and this vin 1006. All air bag lights are on

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving at speeds of 35 mph, the air bags deployed without warrant. The contact was able to move the vehicle from the highway without incident and was assisted by a passing police officer who filed a police report. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000 and the current mileage was 120,712.

Air bags popped out causing damage to my daughters face and burns to her arms and other bodily damages. The car barely hit the wall and the bags went off. We were at home. My daughter was treated twice (admitted at the trauma unit for 3 days). Speech therapy is required for the facial trauma and orthodontist was needed for a broken tooth and wire from her braces jammed in her jaw.

I have been in and replaced my airbag sensors 3 times with the recall. After the 2nd or 3rd time i was in for the recall the lining of the roof of my car has completely fallen in and makes it impossible for me to see out the rear viewmirror.i have included a picture of the roof of my car as it looks now.i should have video of the transition of events but i think my external hard drive has crashed completely.i have been in to honda of concord in north carolina where they have told me there was nothing they could do as far as repairing it for free and i would have to pay.why has no one looked at a computer glitch as the culprit for the airbag sensors automatically releasing air?something has to trigger the sensor to start slowly releasing air, as i was told at honda of south hill, virginia where i originally had my sensors replaced for the recall.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I was driving out of my neighbood in a 25 mph zone and hit a mail truck on the wrong side if the road. I hit the mail truck after turning a corner, as i turned the corner, a spider crawled from the ceiling of my car and i tried to swat it away and didn't see the mail truck. The impact caused the airbag to deploy but the deployment of the airbag was delayed, it did not happened immediately but a few seconds after the impact causing bad burns and blisters to my hand. I did not seek medical attention but doctored on my hand myself; it took months before the appearance if my hand would look normal. I have pictures.the repair shop, tow truck and police officer could not understand why the airbag deployed in the first place with such low speed. It took months to get my car repaired, longer than normal. I am the original owner of the car.the recent recalls have caused me to write this, i had no idea the airbags were defective.it was a very big inconvienience to me.

Airbag light went on. Replacement of drivers seat position sensor needed. Parts from honda $700 plus labor. No water located near seat at time of light activation. No electronics near seat at time of light activation.

After a 3 month wait back in 2014, my driver side airbag was finally replaced on 1/12/15 by coral springs automall honda's service department.a month ago i get another recall notice on the airbag and sort of skim over it thinking i just got it replaced. I was just double checking that all safety recalls had been done on the car when i realized that this last recall was for the passenger side air bag.the dealer ship only replaced the inflator on the driver side.i can only imagine how many people also are in the same boat not realizing honda did not bother replacing both front side air bags and seeing this second notice that it was already fixed.there are many avenues to address this and would like to see the nhtsa make a news release addressing this very issue for all car owners - specifically that both airbags need to be replaced and that if you previously took your car in, dealerships did not bother to replace both.

I do not own the car it was traded in to a dealership 4 years ago.

Airbag light stays on saying sidebag not on

Was involved in car accident, car loss control in left lane, spun 720 degrees into right shoulder, spun another 720 degrees, and then 5 barrel rolls down on the right shoulder on the 101 state freeway ca heading northbound to san fran bay area near king city, ca.updated 10/19/15 driver and passenger air bags did not deploy.updated 12/10/15.

My passenger side airbags spontaneously deployed during my morning commute. There was no collision, no pothole, no bump, and no sudden stop. There was nothing out of the ordinary. The sudden explosion caused me to swerve into oncoming traffic on a bridge, but thankfully, no one was injured.

Dear sir or madam, the air bags (driver and passenger side) deployed on my 2006 honda accord at less than 10mph with my seat belts on resulting in scratches on my left front bumper (no other visible hard impact damage).this incident occurred while performing a slow turn into a parking lot spot.i had contacted both honda usa and my local dealership expressing my concern that once repaired, the air bags could again unintentional deploy while driving the car.honda usa asked me to take car to local honda dealer for inspection and evaluation. I brought my car at honda dealer but they said they were not equipped with skill and tools to inspect and evaluate and stated that i should go to a third party collision shop. I contacted honda usa again and they asked me to go to my insurance company to determine if a defect is present.i believe those are unacceptable and surprising suggestions.it is my believe that honda has a major defect in the air bag sensor and does not wish to investigate and/or acknowledge culpability in a defective safety component.requesting to advise me on how should i proceed.

2006 honda accord.three days after having the vehicle serviced, the air bag light illuminated again. *cw

I started my accord 2006 and air bag light is on. After re-starting engine light disappear for few sec and thenis backon steady.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 14v351000(air bags) was received in april of 2014. After contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Airbag light stayed on without accident. I brought it to dealership and they did a diagnostic scan. The guy said driver positon sensor harness is broken. I researched this problem and its look like this a common problem with honda. I called honda and they said the vin is not included in the recall. Honda must be increase the scope of the recall!!!

Airbag warning lamp on dashboardbegan to light up sporadically. Later in the month the car was taken for routine maintenance ata certified honda dealer,it was explained that there is a problem with the driver side airbagand the light indicated a problem which prevents the mechanics from knowing ifthe airbag will deploy in the event of an accident. This defectis only covered for honda accord v6 models 2001-2005 andhas a quoted repair of $700-900.

I filed a recall claim with american honda. The case number is 11536174.this was for a recall on the airbags. Also, there was a recall on the transmission. The transmission stalls and decelerates when getting above 25 rpm.american honda said this issue was a recall but appeared to be "fixed" a few years ago. But since this is an ongoing problem, i was assured it would be fixed. Jason, at the service department told me it would be "taken care of" but then, tried to bill me $150 for "diagnostic" fees plus then told the parts and labor would be an additional $800.we were given a rental car. About an hour an 20 minutes after dropping off the car, we were called to say the car was ready. Absolutely nothing was done. The glove compartment was still locked. They would have had to unlock it to make the airbag repair. American honda told me the entire canister in the air bag area had to be replaced as well as new air bags installed. Misltin honda screwed us!they also said these 2 repairs would take 6 hours. They fraudulenly billed american honda for 6 hours and did nothing! they were instructed to provide proof of the old parts to show anything was done! my car remains unsafe to drive, potentially causing the airbags to not deploy and the transmission to stall, causing a crash!i'd like my service to be taken care of by honda in manteca, please.mission also billed american honda for our rental. There was also a recall on something to do with the gas pedal..a part or computer issue.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving at a low speed, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the steering. The contact crashed into the rear of the preceding vehicle. The driver side air bag deployed and smoke emitted from the air bag. The contact sustained neck bruises and chest injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v320000 (air bags) and 15v370000 (air bags). In the last recall, i went to the dealership in greer sc as instructed.when i called about the recall, i told the representative that my driver's side airbag was already expelled and asked if it would be replaced.she assured me that it would. They laughed in my face at the dealership, and did not replace the airbag.

I was driving with my wife around 1230am 12/27/15 last night from a friends house to our home about a 5 mile drive when the driver's side airbag went off for no reason. The road i was on was a local road. I was driving normal and safely because it was late and very dark at the time. It exploded twice. I was sitting in the driver position. My wife in the front passenger seat felt a blast on her chest. The passenger air bag never went off. I felt a blast as well and luckily nothing hit my face. Smoke filled the cabin. We opened the windows and got out fast. I pulled over to the side of the road but it was pitch black where we were. We waited about 15 minutes before deciding we should try to drive home...since we were close to home, i drove home. I called my insurance company to put in a claim because i didn't know what else to do. I had previously went to my honda dealership twice to get the airbags fixed. I went on may 7 2015 and october 13 2015. I wanted this noted in case. We were scared. I never expected this airbag to go off for no reason b/c i had gone in twice for recalls. No police report was filed b/c there was no accident. My insurance company progressive is supposed to call me on monday for the next step.

On the morning of 1/28/2013 at approximately 7:30am cst, i walked out to my car to start it. When i turned the key, the passenger side curtain air bags deployed. Since it was -12f outside, i figured there was some sort of mechanical failure and honda would cover it. I called honda of lisle, il and they asked that i bring it in for diagnostics. I dropped the car off thursday morning and later they called and said they found scrapes under the car and that the computer returned srs codes that indicated a collision took place. I told them that there have only been two incidents with the car, neither of which required any body work. We ran over a very deep pothole in 2006, which required the rim to be replaced. In 2007 (or possibly 08), i fell into the rear passenger side quarter panel while attempting to roller blade for the first time and dented it. Because the scrapes that he described seem to have been in the exact same area as where we hit the pothole, i figured they must have come from that. They told me their zone manager from honda america needed to investigate the issue further and would be in the next day (friday) and that they would contact me with the results. On friday, i spoke to my service advisor and he informed me that the zone manager denied my claim due to his belief that a collision had taken place and because my car is out of warranty. On monday, 2/3/2013, i called honda of lisle again and spoke with the general service manager, [xxx] . After explaining my situation to him, he said there is nothing he can do and that covering the expense is up to the discretion of the zone manager. I then called honda corporate, only again to be denied, given the same reason. I am now stuck with a car with deployed airbags that are going to cost over $2,000 to repair. Now they want me to pay $1100 - $1200 to replace the whole srs unit.please suggest.

Right side passenger side curtain air bags deployed automatically when front left tire failed. I have read of later model years having issues with unintended side curtain deployment. I have even read of complaints about erratic deployment in 2006 models in nhtsa files. There was no collision, only a chuck hole which prompted the tire failure.i was driving on a highway near athens, ohio. Hit an unavoidable pothole, the tire blew out immediately, the right side air curtains deployed.vin [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I filled up my car at the hess station on route 112 in coram , long island, new york.i put my car , slowly in reverse and the car took off like it had a mind of it's own.i stepped on the brake, but nothing happened and the car continued to speed up in reverse- with my foot on the brake - heading towards a van with a baby in it in a car seat.i quickly put the car in forward, and with my foot still on the brake, the car flew across the parking lot of the gas station, crossed two lanes of traffic, crashed into the woods. I steered away from a telephone pole i was definitely going to hit and, when i went into the woods the air bag went off and covered my face. I then went back across two lanes of traffic again, with the airbag over my face, and crashed into the curb in front of the hess stationwhen i reported the accident to my insurance company, the hartford, i asked them to check out the speed sensor- . My insurance company saidthey would not be able to check out the speed sensor. I then called honda customer service and told them of the incident. They informed me that, unless they received a request from the hartford, they would not check out the speed sensor.i then called the hartford and requested that they call honda to have the car inspected by honda themselves. Hartford told me that they would not pay to have honda inspect the vehicle - they were just going to have their adjuster look at the car and told me they were not going to look at the speed sensor at all.so , basically, no one is willing to do anything and i almost killed a baby in a car seat and myselfthis seems ludicrous to me that no one is even willing to check this defect out.i sincerely hope that you can help me with this very difficult situation.

The dog was of medium to large size approximately60-70 lbs and caused considerable damage to the front bumper. I then lost control of the car, went of the road , and the vehicle rolled at least 3 times.the vehicle sustained a great amount of damage to the front bumper as well as to the entire passenger side of the car, yet no airbags deployed.i was told by my honda dealership that "the sensors for the airbags were very small and must be hit directly in order for the airbags to deploy, so the sensors must not have been hit just right , and there was probably no reason to be concerned.however, anyone who saw the damage to my car, including state troopers, ems, tow truck drivers, as well as family and friends, all stated that the airbags should have deployed in this instance. I did not find that these airbags to be very beneficial if what the person at the honda dealership said wastrue. Both my passenger and i suffered whiplash, back and neck strain, and mild concussions, thankfully that was all.however i could nothelp but wonder if the airbags would have saved us from the injuries we did sustain.the car was totaled by insurance company . Therefore, no repairs have been done.i am debatingwhether to filea complaint with honda regarding a possible defect in airbag sensors.

Driving my 2006 honda accord at 55 mphpassenger side curtain airbag deployed for no reason honda dealer can find no reason for deployment. Terrifying experience.

Was driving my 2006 honda accord ex sedan on the highway andthe driver-side curtain and seat airbags deployed without incident.there was no accident or impact of any kind.the airbags just deployed.likewise, the driver's seat belt tightened and will not pull or retract.luckily i was able to keep the car under control and not wreck, despite being caught off guard.nothing was done to correct this failure.honda indicated that there are no recalls and they are unaware of any related issues.honda suggested i call my insurance who told me that it was a mechanical failure and therefore not covered.

I was traveling at the speed of 35 mph in low traffic when i hit a small bump and my car lost all power. All the lights on the dash came on and steering became really tight. I drifted to a stop and switched the car off then on. It restarted and the check engine light was on. The light then went off. Two weeks before this the car cut off as i was backing out my driveway. The check engine light came on and i took it to tires plus the technician found the check engine light to be a computer error. This is really dangerous. Its seems as if the car is design to cut off as to alert me something is wrong; however, that would be great if it cut off before it is put in gear. Once i start moving this puts me in great danger of being ran over and killed. The out come of this design could be fatal for me and many more experiencing this. Walsh honda of macon, ga also found the codes to be erroneous.

Tail lights stopped working, passenger and both back windows wont roll down...from forums i've read this is common. Honda needs to issue a recall and fix this for everyone!! also anyone else have to replace wiper linkage due to the excessive windshield wipers when they slam down, they've done this since bought the car off the lot brand new!

None of the windows will roll down checked fuses and was told there is no problem except windows not rolling down is a major problem in case of a wreck to where someone would need to get out of a window have children who need to have windows rolled down for ventilation because of car sickness i have read that many of these hondas have this problem why has this not been addressed through the recall system

Takata recal my abs, tcs ,break and exclamation mark is lit up on my dash bored and stays on after the engine starts and doesn't turn off until i turn the car off every time i drive no matter where i go.

I was driving along in major traffic on a busy thoroughfare and suddenly the engine lost acceleration, the engine light came on, and the d (rive) light started blinking apparently signifying a major transmission problem.the car immediatelylost speed down to 10 miles an hour and i had to navigate out of busy traffic via a left hand turn to a safe resting spot not knowing whether i would make it through the oncoming traffic.i had 3 passengers in the car. The car was ultimately towed to the dealer.

Cold air no longer coming out from drivers side ventslooking online this appears to be common forthe honda accord but does not appear to be a recall why?

While driving the check engine light and vsa light came on,the car started to slow down stepped on gas pedal no response,no power, and couldnot go over 20 mph.took car to my repair shop, they told me that it is a glitch in the accelerator pedal sensor.once they cleared the code from the computer the car ran fine, they told me it could happen again, and they would have to replace the sensor.

An abnormal noise is occurring in my vehicle transmission when i am in the secondary gear.the vehicle engine has and continues to occasionally stall as if their is a short circuit in the electrical component and transmission of the vehicle and vehicle engine which intermittently shuts down but comes back on before the vehicle engine completely stops.when the vehicle is placed in the parked gear position, the vehicle occasionally rolls until the parking emergency brake is applied.i do not want a failed transmission bearing to cause more damage to my vehicle transmission.i discovered this problem was recalled on august 8, 2011 for 2006 honda accord vehicles.recall no. 11v395000, under "automatic transmission bearing failure."

Passenger and both back windows just stopped working.from what i have read in the public forums there are thousands of honda accord owners with the same issue.it is the child safety lock on the driver side door that is the issue.

Official nhtsa page concerning recall #12v222000. While driving, my car's electrical system is making noise behind the steering wheel, my power steering fluid leaks, and my i got a check engine light with a catalytic converter issue.i think it's related to this recall.on a city street. Or the electrical system ticks or whines when i turn the car on.

Driving to work, i had the heat on. My son told me it was super cold and asked me to turn the heat up, no heat was coming out it was on full blast cold ac on the passenger side only. So i ended up turning the heat off and we both sat in the cold. This happened for about a week straight and then it got warmer and i haven't had to use it since. I've had to replace the brakes twice since owning it only since 2009. I also had the smoking coming out of the engine (power steering recall) - got it fixed by honda only after my mechanic contacted them for the part - then they were told about the recall that i was never informed of.this weekend 7/28/13 i had to replace my honda battery yet again after getting stranded in another city and the dealership was closed - this is the third time in 4 years. Something is terribly wrong with the electrical system. Taking my car to the shop this afternoon.

Car cuts off while driving and engine light comes on. This has happened twice. Autozone did a diagnostic test which stated i had a faulty computer module. Honda couldn't find anything other than i needed a new battery. This is my 4th battery. The battery will not stay charged. I don't feel safe driving this car now especially since i found the same problems happening to other drivers online. You all have some of the same defects on other models as my 2006 honda accord exv6. I also was not contacted about the exterior light defects.

On saturday 3/8/2014, i was driving my mom to a local nearby lowe's. She was sitting in the passenger front seat with the seat warmer on. She mentioned that the seat was really hot & she then turned the seat warmer off. After we got home & she got out of the car, i noticed that part of my passenger leather seat was melted.

This is the third door lock actuator on this car that has failed. I know there was a class action against honda for later model year actuators but it did not encompass 2006. The safety problem is that if a person wanted to get out of the locked car in a hurry the electrical lock and unlock button wouldn't unlock the car. The first failure occurred to the left rear door lock actuator replaced under warranty, then in 2009 the right rear failed and now in 2015 the right front failed. I think because of the frequency of failure there is a design problem possibly an extension of the design problems that lead to the later model class action lawsuit for lock actuator failures.

I own a 06 honda accord i have had to replace the remote key twice the plastic cracks on the front cover making the key almost impossible to use.these keys cost $150 to replace .i have spoken to the dealer & hondaabout this matter all to no avail !

The passenger windows suddenly failed to operate either from the driver control 0r the passenger control. All fuses and relays checked out.i have goggled the problem and have found that other honda owners of other models have reported the same problem .it was concluded by many that the culprit was the master control switch.. Some jury rigged the system others paid $500 to replace the switch.t.he vehicle was parked with the engine running when the problem was first recognized.

I have had the airbags checked and replaced at brandon honda and i got an airbag light that won't go off and am worried about maybe side airbag problems and won't get a call back from brandon honda in birmingham alabama to get it checked out or repaired the vehicle has been in operation.

2006 honda accord software wasnt working . And then i had a recall for my car..

Passenger and both rear windows failed at the same time. No switch on any door (including the driver's side) will raise or lower the windows. When the switches are depressed, a clicking sound is made.

I was in park proceeded toput my car in reverse instead of backing up, the car kept moving in a semi - circle, the vehicle was out of control. Thus, i attempted to bring the car to a halt by stepping on the brakes, however, the brake pedal ceased to work anddid not stop the car from being in motion.in closing, the carlost control went about 100ft. Or more till it finally came to a stop at the end ofthe parking lot.lastly, the car is at coast honda, however, i was informed there was not anything they could do to repair the car.my concern is if this happens again what if anything can i do to prevent this?as such, this time i was fortunate because, i was in a parking lot and not on a road, where i could have had an accident, or worse.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

I have been having this on going unknown issue with my instrument panel indicators on my car. On this panel, my malfunction indicator lamp light comes on some times after refueling but not a cap problem and stays on for a few days. This time the light came on wile driving but was not related to a refuel. On page 237 in the 2006, owner's manual it explains that the light has to do with one of the engine's emission control systems may have a problem. I have had this light come on a few times before as well as now and then the light goes out on its own a few days later. I have taken photos of my instrument panel with the light on. The photo also shows my current miles at the time when the light is on. I have given the photos to my service adviser #176 at martin main line honda dealership # 207980 in ardmore pa 19003-2385. My service adviser as well as my tech cannot fine the problem or know exactly why the light comes on. My service adviser has explained to me that the light comes on when your car emission system is emitting fumes that it should not be doing, in return breaking a federal emission law. I have driven many miles some times as may as about 200 miles with this light on before. I just keep reporting this problem to my service adviser every time the light comes on. I have put 0 failures below because i do not know if this part fail or not. I also been having other lights come on my instrument panel as well aside from this only light. Honda needs to buy back this model car if they will not fix the major problems wrong with it.

The anti-lock brake system (abs) indicator, vsa activation indicator, vehicle stability assist (vsa) system indicator, parking brake and brake system indicator, malfunction indicator lamp instrument panel lights comes on for no reason. For the lights to go out i must turn the car off and then back on for the lights to go out. This has happened like three or 4 times before with my car. Same problem all times. Martin main line honda dealership # 207980 in ardmore pa 19003-2385 cannot find / pull any relevant codes from the computer in the car. The dealership cannot find anything physically wrong with my car from the lights or why they cam and keep coming on. I did show the dealership photos i took of the instrument panel with the lights on. The dealership has searched the honda service tech website for any information on this problem and found nothing from honda. The regional honda service rep was asked about this on going problem and he said that he could not do anymore then what the dealership can do on there own. I need honda to fix this major problem. Thanks

2006 honda accord.consumer states battery went out *tgwthe dealer refused to replace the battery under warranty, because the consumer was not the original owner.

Consumer complaint concerning the 2006 accord battery odors and how it affects the passengers.the consumer stated the battery was located behind the back seat in the trunk. The consumer test drove two other vehicles and the batteries were not located behind the back seat in the trunk.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord.the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start.before the failure the contact had been listening to the radio with the engine off for approximately 30 minutes.the contact called aaa, and the vehicle was restarted.aaa stated that the battery was designed for a honda civic.the contact brought the vehicle to the dealer, and was told that nothing was wrong with the battery.the manufacturer has not been notified.

Roughly a month ago from today ie december 2008; the horn on my car sounded different but then was fine, time had passed and it got worse and crackled.i took the car into the local dealer for repair this morning and had asked if this could be considered under warranty eventhough i am 3,000 miles over the std warranty with the 5% extension from honda, the car is 3 days shy of 3 years old, they said no.the problem was the right horn broke, the left worked fine.it was about $120 for diag, parts, and labor which i had to do but am asking honda to consider this to be covered since a 3 year old car should not have something basic break so soon, clearly it was a defective part.this is a safety concern especially with a 4 month baby i transport daily in this car.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord ex.while driving, the alarm and the horn automatically activated for an extended period of time.as a result, other drivers send rude signals to her and she feels that this is very dangerous.the contact notified the honda dealer in her area and a diagnostic test was performed.the dealer was unable to find the cause of failure.she also notified honda's regional office who stated that her vehicle is out of warranty and nothing can be done.honda advised her to go to the passenger side of the vehicle and use the key in order to stop the failure.the engine size was unknown.the current mileage is 25,564 and failure mileage was 22,000.

The ignition key is stuck at position 1 of 3 and cannot be returned to 0. I am unable to get the key out in any gear position and others have tried as well and are unable to retrieve the key.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that she could get the key out of the ignition when the gear shift was in drive as well as reverse.this has occurred approximately 4 times.honda had not been contacted.the vehicle was not been repaired.the failure mileage was approximately 15,000.updated 12/30/10. *ljupdated 01/04/11.

The local honda dealership wanted me to pay $1700 for a fault in the bark sensor, this has continued to be a trend with this vehicle

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jenkins honda of leesburg (8865 us-441, leesburg, fl 34788, (352) 815-2482) where it was diagnosed that the passenger side sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

Takata recal my abs, tcs ,break and exclamation mark is lit up on my dash bored and stays on after the engine starts and doesn't turn off until i turn the car off every time i drive no matter where i go.

Dashboard lights simultaneously indicate failure in: anti-lock brake system, vehicle stability control system, and brakes.

I backup up in a parking lot and when i took my foot off of the brake the car went full throttle in reverse and hit a cement structure behind me and kept hitting it.my brakes did nothing to stop the repeated collisions so i put the car into drive and it went full throttle across the parking lot and was going to go off a cliff and yet i had no brakes. The only control i had was steering.i was going with a full throttle and managed to steer away from the cliff and a building and headed towards a chain link fence to try to stop my travel.it did not stop me because the car was going so fast.it went through the fence and the yard and then through the next fence and was then airborne between the trees till i hit the ground at a 45 degree angle which was about 15 feet lower. Then continued to speed across a field till it got caught in a ditch.i had no brakes during the entire incident...updated 08/27/15 updated 12/3/15

While driving car cease or stop in traffic. Then jerk or accelerated after applying gas pedal.

Appears the vehicle pcm has to be replaced caused car to stall.

Within 4 months following the last two oil changes, the low oil pressure light will come on while driving.oil is two qts low.no indication of leak, burning or in radiator.not sure why using oil with no indication.mechanic states it is normal to use oil and needs to be added between oil changes.

While driving to work, the engine suddenly cut off while sitting at a red light. I restarted the car and the service engine light came on. I immediately took the car to the nearest autozone and had a diagnostic report done. Report came back saying fuel screen is jammed. On the way home from work, the service engine light went off. When i started the car the next morning the service engine light again came on. I immediately went to a auto service repair place and they ran a diagnostic test. It came back saying fuel screen is jammed. The mechanic stated that it just needs to be cleaned . I made an appointment for the next day. The next morning, on starting the car, the service light did not come on. I went to my appointment and the mechanic said, some cars do that and after driving a while, it may not come back on. The light has not come back on since nor has the car stalled out.

While having the vehicle in for a power steering hose recall the dealer found two broken motor mounts.my honda accord lx has been making a thumping noise on acceleration.its possible that leaking power steering fluid has caused the deterioration of the rubber in the mounts.the dealer service rep says there are 3 motor mounts on this engine.the vehicle has not been driven hard since new.with 2 of 3 mounts broken at 66, 800 miles is a matter for concern.the 3rd mount breaking would cause the engine to twist and possibly start a fire or transmission and drive axles to lock up causing a crash.other honda accord owners have complained about broken motor mounts on-line.

I took my honda accord e6 into darrell waltrip honda for a recall to repair a power steering hose.i picked the car up and returned 27 miles on the interstate directly to my home.i was told the repair procedure was to take 5 hours plus oil change but it actually took less than 60 - 90 minutes.i parked the car in my garage and went upstairs into the house.about 12 minutes later the alarms went off and i found the garage and car in flames with heavy smoke.the forensics fire expert says that the fire was caused by oil that had sprayed across the back inside of the car which was ignited by the catalytic converter- probably due to a faulty repair by the mechanic or by a faulty repair procedure designated by honda or the dealership.the fire thus far has caused more than $200,000 damages to my home plus injury to me.i understand that at least four other drivers have experienced the same problem.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated while traveling highway speeds the vehicle started to shake and then stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the engine needed to be replaced.the vehicle was not repaired and the vin was unknown. The failure and current mileages were unknown.

According to a honda dealership i am having power steering issues related to the hose getting too hot and eroding causing my car to start burning under the hood causing not only a burning smell but also visible melting to areas of my vehicle both under the hood and areas on the passage side of my vehicle near the windshield. I am lucky my car did not set in fire while driving around with my 7 year old in the car with me. Especially considering the issue had gone undiagnosed for several weeks although i had been attempting to find the source of the issue.

The contact owned a 2006 honda accord. While driving approximately 25 mph, there was an abnormal noise from the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle caught fire under the hood. The fire department extinguished the fire and a report was filed. There were no injuries sustained. The vin was unknown. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a towing facility. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I was driving down my road and notice my car keeps stalling between 3rd and 4th gear, if i hit the brake it stops and i can go on.i took it for recall last year and it started doing better but last month it is stalling and jerking at speeds between 30-45.it seems to be getting worse.also my driver side window when i try to roll it up without holding the button it will go all the way up and then roll back down.i also have problems with the air conditioner blowing hot air on the drivers side if i turn it all the way down to where it says lo and a few minutes later turn it up to what it is set on then it will blow correctly for a day or two, sometimes a couple of weeks but having to keep doing this defeats having climate control option.

I've experienced many issues with my brakes since my car hit 99,000 miles. I have to replace the brakes every 20,000 miles and now i had an incident where my car would not stop. The engine seemed to just go dead and i could not accelerate the car. I had just gotten off the freeway. The car did not want to stop when i was approaching the red light and would not accelerate. It would only go 5 mph. I pulled off the street, stopped the car and turned it off. I started it again and it went back to normal but i immediately drove to the honda dealership and they said i have 5 or more sensors that are failing, including the throttle. They said it was unsafe for me to drive and the car is still there. Said it will cost at least $1300 to fix and that may not fix it. I tried to report previous braking issues to american honda in december 2011 and they dismissed my complaint. Told me i needed to deal with the dealership. Originally, i thought the dealership didn't fix the brakes and just charged me for a service they didn't perform. Now, it seems as though it's a manufacturer defect, which is what i was told today.

Smelled smoke in interior compartment as of i was about to park the car.got out of the carwith all passengers.. Then seconds later the engine was in flames. By-standards grabbed extinguishers (4) in total but did not put the flames out.fire dept came, cut open the hood and put it out with water. Front bumper and headlights had melted completely. Battery and fuse box nearly gone and nothing but bare wires all over the engine.even the head cover all melted.

In january, three weeks after driving 1000 miles to florida the engine started to miss and with in a mile i could not go 10 miles a hour.i had the car towed to the fort myers, florida honda dealer.i was told one of the rear spark plugs was loose and the blow-by over-heated the spark plug causing the inside of the plug to come loose fall inside the head thus causing damage to the engine.the coil mounted to the spark plug was charred indicating very high temperature from the blow-by.the plug was loose in the socket indicating it was not tighten securely. The top of the plug is still in-place on the spark plug.i have the parts.the engine had the fluids check and oil changed every 4000 miles and normal maintenance performed.i do most of my own maintenance and had no reason to check the spark plugs.i keep track of gasoline usage and the car had no change in gas consumption, an indication of bad sparkplugs. Over all usage of 22 m/g.the suggestion of the service manager was that the lease expensive way to get back to my home in ohio was to have a used engine installed. It took over a week.i now have almost $5000 more invested in the car because of faulty manufacturing.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving various speeds, the transmission skipped gears and caused the engine to rev very high. Also, a knocking noise was present coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failures. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 11v395000 (power train). The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 110,000.

In february, i had to replace the power steering pump, and driver side power window switch. In june i had to replace the starter motor.

Power steering hose is leaking and could cause potential fire due to the location in the engine compartment. This is a problem in multiple models of honda and has been recalled before, but not in my model. Please consider the placement in future vehicles and resolve this issue in current ones.

My fiancee, her brother, our 22-month old son , and myself were on the highway (270s) to reagan international airport at 6:30 pm when the car suddenly slowed down, would not accelerate, and started shaking. Not knowing what was going on i pulled over, turned the engine off, and got out of the car. I walked around the car and everything was fine. I got back in the car, started the engine and stepped on the gas pedal without much of an acceleration. We called a friend who is a mechanic and he said that it was probably a spark plug issue. We were able to drive the car the next day to his shop and the diagnostics was cylinder misfiring. It turned out that a spark plug became loose, melted, and destroyed the cylinder. He fixed the treads where the spark plug screws into the engine but the engine did not pressurize. He went inside the engine and discovered that there were lot of loose debris in the engine and the smooth surface against which the cylinder glides in the engine was damaged and was very rough. His recommendation was to replace the engine, which he is currently doing for a minimum of $2500 out of pocket since the warranty expired. I hope this solves the problem. Our car is well-maintained and all the factory-recommended services have been done. We were never told by the dealers that the spark plugs can become loose and needed to be checked. I did an online search and it turned out that many honda owners, especially those that have 6-cylinder vehicles (accords/odyssey) have the loose spark plug problem and almost always after the warranty expired.

I bought a car & after driving it, i noticed & started to hear/ feel strange noises. I decided to have the car inspected & i found out that the car had a significant front-end collision & that the honda had been partially repaired & not fixed properly. The inspectors stated that the car's accident was not reported to dmv as it should be & that is was fixed under the table, as a side job. The car dealership claimed the car had a clean title, however the title was never in the dealerships name & instead in the private owner's name still. The damage found on the car are significant & could have caused my family or i serious injury, if we got into a wreck. The damage found on the car which was not repaired properly are; significant front-end damage, a buckled right frame rail, upper motor mount is broken, a broken seam seal (which is freshly broken), there are buckles on the upper apron and the welds on the radiator support were not welded properly or painted & was covered up by the fresh seam seal. There is also the same bent rebar support on there from the damaged wreck and was rattled canned in an attempt to cover it up. I was told it is a fresh repair as the bumper, radiator & radiator support, ac condenser & fan shrouds are brand new.the dealership insinuated that they do not inspect the cars and that they just sell them right back(which is weird, why buy cars and sell them, unless there is profit)?. I then contacted the dealership, told them what happened & how they have the responsibility as a business and dealership to sell safe cars under the oregon lemon law act & federal trade commission act (section 5). I have now asked for their business license 2 times & they will not send it to me. They are also refusing to give me my money back & only offered a partial refund, for a car that they sold knowing it was unsafe, with unsafe repairs & not reporting an accident.

Took a road trip on i40e to winston salem (3 hr. Each way), while driving back the ac stopped working.took it to apple tree honda and they stated a rock had punctured the condenser and it was not covered under warranty.this cost over $400.00 to repair, and is a major front end design flaw, this company needs to recall all of these vehicles and put covers over the holes in the front grill area.this is unacceptable, it is a $200.00 fix or less for them, and i will not purchase another honda for $28k when they can't even correct their own mistakes.

Road debris on a highway so small we didn't hear a thing caused a hole to be punctured in my ac condenser.according to numerous sites, this is a known design flaw with various year model accords, as the condenser is exposed and not protected by anything.the condenser was just put in by honda in 2011 and they won't honor the warranty because it was caused by road debris, even though it's a known fact that this happens far too frequently to the accords.

2006 honda accord. Consumer states problem with ecm computer failure *tgwthe consumer was informed the ecm which was under warranty failed due to condensation from the air conditioner located above the part. Honda corporation denied the consumers claim. Honda acknowledged the problem was beyond the customers control, but was also claiming it was out of their control as well.

2006 honda accord software wasnt working . And then i had a recall for my car..

While driving on i 95 to baltimore, my cars check engine light, vsa, and traction control lights came on, cruise control disengaged, vehicle began to slow down from 70 mph, the engine would not pick up speed even when pressing on the gas pedal. Pulled off the road shut down the car, restarted and was able to drive again at highway speed until it happened again.it happened a total of 6 times.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that she heard a loud noise coming from the engine after shutting the vehicle off. She attempted to restart the vehicle, but it would not start. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer and the contact was told that she was not properly putting oil in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileages were unavailable.

After leaving my son's track meet, the a/c began blowing warm air.my husband went and bought refrigerant, and as he was putting it in, mist/smoke started coming from the front of the car. My husband took it to the mechanic and was told we needed to replace the a/c condenser. Apparently a pebble hit the condenser which now has a pin hole in it. Honda doesn't cover it and it's expensive to replace.there's too many complaints about this issue for there not to be a recall on it.

2006 honda accord air conditioning condenser damaged for 3rd time.car has total 35,000 miles.dealership says the condenser was damaged by flying debris.sounds like a recall issue for honda.honda of course refuses to fix at their expense.poor design, recall.

I was not involved in an accident but i have a serious air conditioning problem.i purchased a used 2006 honda accord 6 months ago during the winter months.as soon as we had our first warm spell i realized that the ac is defective.the driver side is blowing hot air.the passenger side is blowing cool, air-conditioned air.the honda dealership that was "repairing" my air conditioner, said the air was much cooler now but that it would always be cooler on the passenger side than the driver's side because there is a "chiller" on that side.why in the heck don't they have a chiller on the driver's side too?!!all automobiles have a driver!i just picked the car up after paying $168.15 to find it is no better than when i took it in.my extended warranty did not cover any of the repair, which was a valve replacement on the lo side, the replacement of a high side shreader and an evacuate & recharge.frustrated, i came straight home and researched my concerns online.what i found was very concerning and irresponsible on the part of honda.there are multiple websites with nearly identical complaints just like mine.it appears the condenser is not protected from road debris and can be damaged quite easily.if honda is well aware of this design flaw they owe it to their buyers to recall this expensive repair.warranty doesn't cover the repair, but if we as the buyers put a guard/cover over the condenser to protect it the warranty is void.we can't win for losing.i have owned four honda vehicles over the last 12 years and i'm so upset that they are not standing behind their product(s) more than this.i will likely never buy another honda.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord lx.after driving a mile, the contact stated that the air conditioner failed to blow cold air.the fan was activated, but no cold air was produced.the dealer stated that the cause of failure was a puncture in the condenser.she also had a private mechanic inspect the vehicle, but no hole was found in the condenser at that time.the contact called honda headquarters and was told that the failure is not under warranty.the powertrain was unknown.the current mileage is 14,700 and failure mileage was 14,000.

2006 honda accord - a/c condenser broke twice due to road debris, told not covered under warranty and was a rare occurrence - however i see several other people reporting the same problem. Without ac windows fog up on rainy humid days and visibility is impaired. Total design flaw on behalf of honda and they should recall the item.

I noticed my air conditionerin my 2006 honda accord was not blowing cold air and i made an appointmentwith a honda dealer on 8/13/07 and was told road debris punctured my a/c condenser and was not covered under the warranty. The grill design allows road debris to come into air conditioner.

A/c in my 2006 honda accord se i had purchased only 2 weeks prior was coming out as water vapor and stopped working altogether. Took it to the dealership and they ran a diagnostic and said a rock or pebble must've hit the compressor, and that this type of repair is not covered under my bumper to bumper wrap warranty. It cost $100 for the diagnostic alone, and would be an additional $550 for the actual repair. Absolutely outrageous for a car i had less than a month!

2006 honda accord we bought brand new 2.5 years ago. 55,000 miles and the a/c condenser needs to be replaced for $800 due to a puncture from a rock. Not covered under honda warranties, not considered "normal wear and tear" even though you can read numerous complaints on the internet regards the same problem.

2006 honda accord, normal driving conditions, no out of the ordinary events leading to failure. Punctured/damaged a/c compressor. A/c does not function, repair costs $120-180 ac compressor, $30-40 a/c receiver/drier, $130-200 drain/recharge of a/c system.total for repair $660-700.

Engine light came on three times.firsttime dealership said computer needed updating, cleared the code.the next day it came on and would not start. Dealershipclaimedit was the alarm.less than 2 weeksago it came on again when i was out of state. Dealershiptested it, and determined it was abent cylinder head, they guessed it was caused by bad shifting, but freeze data showed i was only going45 mphat 1300 rmps.they saidthat it was not covered by warranty.honda has been stalling for 26 days.

I purchased a brand new 2006 honda accord, with a 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed manual.the car is a lx special edition, with a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder.the car has burned excessive amounts of oil since day one.it burns more than 2 quarts of oil between each oil change.at first i thought it was due to the thin oil that is required and that it was just the break in, but it keeps getting worse.i have run the factory honda oil and filter and the problem keeps getting worse.this oil change i tried mobil 1 synthetic oil in the recommended weight, but it did not help.the oil is at 50% and the car has already burned over 1 quart of oil with just over 20,000 miles on the car.i have done all of the required oil changes at the proper intervals.the cars transmission is also abnormally stiff when it is warming up.a friend of mine was able to insist that they rebuild his manual transmission for similar problems.the excessive oil burning is the problem i am writing about though.

It was first thing in the morning , had driven it late the previous evening.the engine light went on , the car bucked when i tried to accelerate .idrove to the dealership. Asked me if i "topped off" at the gas station. I did in fact top off the last fill up.i was told that could make the engine light go on.now i have a rent a car. They need to order a new part. V tec.i have always topped off at the gas station. I should have been told or warned not to do that with the new honda's if in fact that is the reason for this.

One day while driving to work i was listening to music in the vehicle's factory 6 disk cd changer at which time i noticed it quite working. I glanced and saw the words "err". From that time the cd player failed to respond to any commands. I took it to the dealer where they attempted fix the problem and did not continue as the cd player was out of warranty. I am now have 6 stuck cd's in the unit and it will not play or eject cd's.

Air conditioning has failed on 2006 honda accord with 43,000 miles.dealer says the problem is due to a leaking condenser which will cost $700 to replace.the condenser is in a very exposed position in the front grill and has no protection whatsoever.it is very prone to damage from road debris.this is very poor design as there is no protective mesh.this is a design fault which is costing accord owners a great deal of money.it should be fixed under a recall!

2006 honda accord bought new in 2007 46k miles. A/c stopped blowing cold air, took it to dealer because of extended warranty. Was told repair would not be covered by warranty because condenser was puncture by road hazard. Car has not been in wreck nor has anything been run over, was told a small rock puncture the condenser. Internet search on this issue has returned multiple sites and message boards claiming the same issue and that honda is not covering repairs. Obviously there is a design flaw in their vehicles. Internet search also returned a class action suit in progress see site www.hondalawsuit.com.

Am having the same problem with my accord. The first time it happened, i brought it to the dealer and they told me that a stone had damaged the condenser and was rare occurrence. They said that it was not covered under warranty and would cost between $600-$700 to replace the part. Amazingly after my husband spoke with them, they did put the part through as a warranty item. After searching the internet for honda recall items and coming across other reports of the exact same problem, this clearly is not a rare occurrence, to me this is defective design. Also, this rare occurrence has occurred again this year - turned on the a/cand it doesn't work, again.

A/c stopped working. Was told that road debris damaged the condenser unit, though there was no incident of me hitting road debris that was visible. Thus a "road hazard" not covered by warranty, according to dealer. Cost to repair: $550. Unit is low to the ground, vulnerable to damage. Numerous websites note people experiencing similar damage with other accord years and models, not covered, costing approx. Same amount. Sometimes damage recurs. Honda should provide a shield to protect this vulnerable part. The same part also activates interior defroster, which will not work if condenser is damaged. That is a safety issue, as visibility is reduced. My dependents have asthma and allergies, and this is a safety issue for them driving in a very hot and humid climate of the houston area. There is no shield or other device offered by honda to keep the same damage from happening again. I drive carefully and keep my car well-maintained. It seems as though any object on the road surface is a potential hazard to this condenser unit even non-visible small rocks or pebbles.

I bought my 2006 honda accord in april last year. On june 2006, my a/c condenser had a leak due to "road debris". Honda dealer wouldn't cover this because "road damage" is not under warranty. They charged me $700 to replace a new a/c condenser. Last week, i tried to turn on my a/c and found out the air was not cold at all. I took my accord back to the dealer and learned that i was having the same problem. The dealer told me a small pebble might damage the condenser causing all the freon to leak. I replaced two a/c condensers within a year. I had driven many other cars in the past and never had my a/c condenser break down because of a small pebble. Honda accord has a design flaw on the venting system and should take action to fix the problem. The main problem of the venting system is it does not protect the a/c condenser from the small of pebbles or debris. The location of the a/c condenser allows the tubing exposed in front of the fins where it is likely to be hit. Another improvement on the a/c condenser is using a stronger material on this product so it is not that fragile. The honda manufacturer should replace my a/c condensers and improve the design of the venting system.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. She took the vehicle to the dealer for maintenance and a leak in the air conditioner unit was found. She arranged an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. The technician stated that a pebble could have caused the hole in the compressor. The vehicle was repaired at her expense. She called the manufacturer, but was not provided with any assistance. The current mileage was approximately 35,000. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.updated 6/19/10 updated 07/22/10

A/c stopped working.was told that a stone damaged the condenser unit, thus a "road hazard" not covered by warranty, according to dealer.cost to repair:$650.unit is low to the ground, vulnerable to damage.numerous websites note people experiencing exact damage, not covered, costing approx. Same amount.sometimes damage recurs.honda denies ever having a complaint on this situation, which is not true.honda should provide a shield to protect this expensive, vulnerable part.same part also activates interior defroster, which will not work if condenser is damaged.that is a safety issue, as visibility is reduced.having cool air is a safety issue if you have asthma, allergy, are elderly, or if you live in a very hot climate.honda is remiss in not being responsible for this problem and are making money off of a flawed design.there is no shield or other device offered by honda to keepthe same damage from happening.i drive carefully and keep my car well-maintained.it seems as though any object on the road surface is a potential hazard to this condenser unit.i think honda should be ashamed of itself and owes it to its customers (this is my third honda) to provide a retrofit.

Consumer would like information regarding his 2006 honda accord. The letter the consumer received stated his owners manual may contain incorrect contact information for the national highway traffic safetyadministration.

During multiple instances, my car (honda accord 2006) was either in nearly stopped position or stopping in the line of traffic red light behind other car. Suddenly, it just self-accelerated itself with rpm cranking up to 1.5 k-rpm while i was braking my brake peddle to set my car in stopped situation. Normally, when it was in fully stop or idle position, the engine idle rpm speed is 0.75~0.8 k-rpm. These scary instances of "self-acceleration" happened at least three times in recent two months. Luckily, i was in fully depressed brake position for these instances. When i heard and saw the engine rpm speed suddenly cranking up twice as fast, i instantly depressed further down the brake even harder to make sure the car didn't gallop up and hit the car in front of mine. This is a very serious situation. It just likes some other people (ghost driver) is driving my car besides me.

I entered my car's vin but this is a common problem. I frequently see cars driving at dusk or at night with no lights on. Their drls automatically come on and the dash lights are automatically lit so they think they are ok, but there are no lights on the back of the vehicle and often the drls aren't as bright as headlights. It's a condition that drivers don't realize needs addressing and is dangerous for many reasons.

Headlights and the headlight lens for this car are so dim that driving after dusk is not safe. I've replaced the blubs twice and had the car serviced for this problem with no success.

I am a police officer in the northeast ohio area.in the past few months i've come in contact with a design flaw pertaining to the newer model honda vehicles.on at least 10 separate occasions i've had to advise drivers of honda vehicles to turn on their lights.during fog, rain and night time driving these vehicles were driving with only the daytime driving lights on.in my opinion the flaw is that the daytime driving lights come on automatically and also activate the dashboard illumination, so the driver of the car thinks the headlights are on.however, the only lights that are on, are the daytime driving lights, there are no taillights, no sidemarker lights or the headlights that are on.practically the vehicle is driving blacked out in the above listed weather conditions and therefore creates a hazard to the occupants and other drivers on the road.i believe this design flaw creates a substantial risk to the people on the road as well as the owners of those honda vehicles.i'm not sure if this is the right way to go about reporting the problem but i will also send a copy of this email to honda and hope that they will address this safety issue.

Low beams on my 2006 honda accord have not illuminated well. I have lived with this poor lighting by using my high beam when not indicated. Recently, i discovered a recall # 07e004000 that states about it. My vehicle is a perfect example of this problem. I called honda and the customer service said they were closed during prime business time. I was also told the headlights were an after market issue. How do i get this safety concern fixed? thank you.

2006 honda accord chronic problem - headlights dim frequently while driving - windshield wipers hesitate in same intervals - happens at nigh. Daytime running lights also dimming completely.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While the vehicle was undergoing routine maintenance, the mechanic noticed that there was a small leak in the power steering hose and the hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing the failure listed in nhtsa campaign number: 12v222000 (steering); however, the vin was not included. The contact also stated that the headlights became frosted, which caused the headlights to become dim. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated that the headlight covers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

I have had the airbags checked and replaced at brandon honda and i got an airbag light that won't go off and am worried about maybe side airbag problems and won't get a call back from brandon honda in birmingham alabama to get it checked out or repaired the vehicle has been in operation.

The headlights outer surface has turned cloudy. This is a common issue with cars but it is a safety issue since it greatly impairs vision. I don't understand why car makers can continue to to make their headlights out of materials we all know will discolor and create a safety problem.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord.the contact stated that whenever the defroster was activated, the exterior light would dim. In addition, the passenger side headlight was inoperable.the glove compartment light would continuously remain illuminated while the vehicle was turned on. Upon exiting and closing the driver side door, the contact stated that all four windows fell halfway down.the dealer diagnosed no failure with the defects.the manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 38,000 and the current mileage was 103,000.

Exterior lighting recall.

Dashboard lights simultaneously indicate failure in: anti-lock brake system, vehicle stability control system, and brakes.

- the contact ownsa 2006 honda accord.the contact stated that the vehicle was supposed to get 33 mpg.the vehicle didnot even get 25 mpg on the freeway at 65 mph.the failure and current mileage were both 9624.when drivingat 65 mph on the freeway the engine just slowed down even when she was accelerating, and it struggled as though it needs to be shifted into another gear.the contact was told by a mechanic that it maybethe main computer chip that was causing the problem.the mechanic stated that it was not doing what the contact says it was doing. The contact stated that it especially did it when it almost time for an oil change.

My daughter was not able to open the driver side door from either the inside or outside door latch. This really scared her so that we she walked to our house doors she was shaking. This is a 2-door coupe and she was scared and almost panicking. She asked me what was wrong with the door because she could not open it. I investigated and the remote door opener was working. Even used the manual key to try to open the door but the latch would not engage to open the door. My biggest concern was the safety issue. What if my daughter was driving and had an accident and she had to get out of the car? what if the car was on fire? there is obviously a design flaw in the way the door was designed. I went to the dealer and i was told that there were other honda cars that have had the same issue. Again, this is a safety issue. I am not aware if the other honda owners who have had the same problems have actually reported this. I have seen several online post complaining about this problem...

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While the contact was inside the vehicle, both the front driver and passenger doors would not unlock on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to burns honda (325 rt. 73 n., marlton, nj) where it was diagnosed that the seat track and clips were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 33,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that the front driver's side automatic door lock was functioning sporadically and would not unlock with the key fob or with the manual door switch. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord.the contact stated that the chrome passenger door handles have caused the injuries to his hands. The driver side door handles have also caused injuries to his hands as well.the contact took the vehicle to a dealer to have the door handles replaced; however, the manufacturer would not cover the cost the handles were not replaced.the dealer will give the contact a written statement saying the the door handles are sharp and has caused injuries.the statement will be sent to the manufacturer to request that the handles be replaced with no cost to the contact.the contact feels the manufacturer should be responsible for the repairs since it' s a manufacturers defect.the failure mileage was 51,000.

The trunk lid, when opened, does not always stay up.occasionally, after the lid has been opened, it will start to close.in at least two or three instances, the lid came down and hit me on the upper forehead.the problem appears to be due to a marginal strength spring that may be due to a design defect or a defective spring.

Thanks

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle started making an abnormal noise and jerked without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 113,000.

While accelerating to highway speed (65) my car automatic transmission suddenly fell out of gear and the engine raced to 6k rpms and was unable to catch gear again with patting the gas peddle.it was almost as if the cars brake was on because there was almost no glide.i was just barely able to get off to the shoulder and not be rear-ended at high speed.i turned off the car for a few minutes and started it back up and it was able to progress through shifting but is now unable to advance above 50 miles per hour due to it not being able to shift higher.it is also falling out of gear when idling.i kept regular maintenance on my car and changed the transmission fluid about 15k miles before i experienced this issue.i am being told by a transmission shop that the problem is likely with the torque converter and i will likely n need a new transmission at the tune of ~$4000.00 needless to say i feel this is an extreme safety hazard and probably caused by original parts being low quality or poorly designed.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the vehicle accelerated and the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was advised that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the problem continued. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance.the failure mileage was 25,700 and the current mileage was 55,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving 4 mph, the front driver side cv axle joint fractured and almost caused a crash. The dealer replaced the cv axle joint. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 158,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission started shifting erratically. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 11v395000 (power train) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 135,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph and above, the vehicle would begin to jerk. The failure recurred on an intermittent basis. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.

We experienced a problem in stopping at a red light on our trip back from an out of town trip last weekend.as a result of this experience my wife is now afraid to drive this car.after a few hours of highway driving, and decelerating through an exit ramp, then re-accelerating and attempting to stop at a stop light we experienced and an extremely resistant brake pedal requiring extremely hard pedal pressure and the engine seemed to continue to rev during braking.while stopped at the light the engine continued to rev abnormally.our 30-year-old son was driving.he did not move his foot from the brake pedal for fear of what would happen.he switched into park and the engine stopped revving.while keeping his foot on the brake pedal he put the car back in drive.then the engine seemed normal and the brake pedal pressure returned to normal.this was a disconcerting experience because it was abnormally difficult to stop, and we almost ran into a car in front of us.there were three adult witnesses to this frightening episode, my wife, our adult son, and me.we did not use the cruise control at any time during this trip.we took the vehicle to our honda dealer.they examined the car thoroughly and could find no problems.they hypothesized that this may have been a computer error, but the systems test out fine now.now our family is left with a car that we know has a serious safety defect, and we drive it in fear that this could happen again, hurting others or us.we also recognize the possibility that this stealth defect may be lurking to hurt others in other 2006 honda accord v6 cars.

Appears the vehicle pcm has to be replaced caused car to stall.

2006 honda accord se 4cyl automatic trans.transmission failure on highway.entering highway and merging into high-speed traffic, and transmission started slipping to the point where it had no forward power (however engine was running fine).a large 18-wheeler truck was behind me and had to brake sharply as my car slowed down.had to pull off, shut off engine for a few minutes before was able to get car to next exit and off highway.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving 40 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the transmission started to slip. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

I bought my 2006 accord v6 autonot quite 4 years ago as a 2 year old, off lease beautiful, gently used model with 38,000 miles. Around 85,000 miles i noted the transmission started to shift abruptly/hard. I had a transmission fluid service completed and this seemed to solve the problem.the abrupt shifts started again around 128,000 miles.now at 130,000 miles, the transmission completely failed.after a 65 mile trip, the car would not get out of first gear.the engine revved and revved, but would not shift. After a 5 minute rest, the car would not even go into reverse or drive.when the tow truck arrived 45 minutes later, the car did manage to go into reverse and drive to get the car aligned with the flat bed.the result from an independent honda specialist: $3932.74 to replace the transmission.a call to stevenson honda, who did not look at the car, quoted $4200 for a "remanufactured" transmission. Not sure how honda could continue to build this transmission and install in their top of the line model after knowing there were problems as early as 2003, in this specific model. I'm not quite sure what my plan of action is after calling honda 800-999-1009 to complain.i don't have $4000 laying around.

My vehicle is experiencing the same issues as described in recall #11v395000, however my vin is not listed as being affected by that recall. I contact honda usa directly, opened a case #10120384, and was told that there was no extended warranty and nothing could be done. The vehicle is making a noise while driving and suddenly loses all power, this has only happened so far while the vehicle is in motion, exactly as described by the 2011 recall for the pcm, the check engine light in my vehicle also indicates the pcm is at fault, however because my vin is not part of the recall any fix must be done out of pocket. The issues happening are exactly as described in the recall, because of this it seems as though additional vins might have needed to be included.

I had just gotten off the interstate about 2 minutes.i was approaching a traffic light, when i tried to accelerate through it.my engine roared, but did not go anywhere. So i looked around, and cars were up on me, nearly rear-ending me.they were upset that i mashed my brakes, rather than driving through the intersection.i put on my emergency lights for them to go around me, as i put the car in park, it keptrolling back, reverse, it kept rolling as if it was in neutral, drive, it kept rolling.i had to pull the emergency brakes up to get the car to stop.after nearly getting hit from the rear numerous times, i was finally able to allow the vehicle to roll backwards into a parking lot and park it.it took me nearly 3 hours to finally get the car towed home.this is a dangerous experience.i can only imagine if this had happened to an inexperienced driver.there may have been fatalities as a result of this.i should have been warned that something like this could occur in this vehicle.my transmission put me down.i am just thankful that i had gotten off of the interstate.my complaint #: 1-07-825-30. Please, remedy this issue before something major happens to someone.thank you in advance.

Transmission failed after only putting 77,300 miles on the car.

Upon having the secondary shaft bearing recall completed my car started to drive very sluggish. Upon acceleration the car is very slow to accelerate and feels like it's dragging and staying in one gear too long.when finally i get to desired speed the car will slightly jerk as if it is trying to switch gears and will sometimes decelerate in speed. I have to constantly accelerate to keep car going up to speed and sometimes have to press gas pedal to floor to get up to speed. Car makes a humming sound on and off when trying to get up to speed. Dealership ran all checks and could not find any failures. I hope honda investigates this issue. My car was running very smoothly before i took it in for recall and now it runs very rough. Very disappointing!!!

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to shift into third gear. The contact also mentioned that when he attempted to shift into third gear, the shifter would not engage or immediately disengage independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The mechanic did not diagnose a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. The current mileage was 110,000.updated 11/06/13*lj

Transmission failure while i was in heavy traffic. Engin would rev up but the transmission would not engage. This caused a stressful and dangerous situation with traffic since i could not move any faster than 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Transmission shudders when rpm's reach 1500-2000 at slow to moderate acceleration. Shuddering does not occur when hard accelerating. Tends to happen when speed is reaching 35mph though has occurred at other speeds. Has happened on multiple road surfaces and in multiple cities. Veh has not thrown any service code's or warning lights. Dealer does not seem to want to fix problem. This vehicle is not covered in the class action lawsuit but symptoms seem identical.

Veh is a 2006 4cyl accord coupeveh started shuddering during slow to moderate acceleration when rpm's reached around 12-1500 and speed was approx 35mph. Veh has approx 47k mi on same. Dealership tried to sell transmission fluid service even though it had less mileage than manual recommended for service. Took multiple trips to 2 separate dealerships (all over 1hr away) before problem was addressed under the power train warranty. 2nd dealer also admitted veh shifted harder than it should and replaced the torque converter. Repair only lasted approx 30k mi and veh needs repair again. Veh now shudders more frequently and at different speeds though acceleration is always slow to moderate. Previous repair only had a 1yr warranty and power train warranty has expired. Honda had a class action lawsuit for this same issue but same was settled before my veh was built therefore it is not included in the suit but i feel this is related. Veh also has paint issues however those are not necessarily a "safety" issue.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that the vehicle would roll away when shifted into park. The only way to stop the vehicle was to engage the emergency brake. The contact stated the failure had occurred at least four times. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 34,000 and the current mileage was 40,000.

On 26oct17, i was driving my honda accord 2006 with 171,000 miles and came to a complete stop.i prepared to make a left turn and engaged the clutch.the vehicle entered into the highway about 5 feet when a large pop/thud was heard with some slight metallic grinding noises.the car drifted backwards since i was on a slight incline.fortunately there was no traffic to my left or behind me.i drifted backwards approximately 50 feet and backed into a playground parking lot on my right.i parked the car and made several attempts to move forward and engage the clutch.the car would not move and the clutch would not work. I called my local auto club for road side assistance.the auto club towed the vehicle to my local mechanic.the next day my mechanic called me and reported that my clutch was fine but my left front axle was broken.the mechanic repaired the vehicle and told me he reported the incident to honda.the mechanic was asked if anyone was injured or killed.the mechanic reported that there were no injuries and honda told him that they were not obligated to report the problem.my mechanic told me that he was personally aware of other older honda vehicles that also had broken axles.the mechanic showed me the broken axle.the mechanic indicated that the rubber covering over the area affected allows water/moisture to accumulate and corrode the axle.he noted that the new axle does not have the same covering.the mechanic felt it was a design flaw and was not aware of any warnings/recalls from honda.i have attached a copy of the repair needed for this incident.

Power steering fluid keeps gushing out of the housing unit.transmission keeps on studders when shifting from 1st gear to 2nd. Marking whining noises.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle decelerated and there was a sudden increase of engine rpms. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 11v395000 (power train). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 205,000.

This is my first honda & will be my last.bought the car with 50,000 miles on it-figured we were set for quite a while.at 53,000 the transmission went-3,000 miles over warranty.called honda directly & after crying, begging, pleading, etc they replaced the transmission free of charge.three years later i have a car with 110,000 miles on it. The white paint is all pitted with rust spots, the passenger side motor lock is broken & the driver side passenger window motor is shot. God only knows about the air bags!! i hate this car with a passion. My husbands 1996 toyota camry has absolutely nothing wrong with it at over 200,000 miles!! i can't believe honda doesn't put out recalls on some of these things as i've read quite a few complaints about them on the internet.obviously honda isn't concerned about their reputation at all.i was so impressed when they finally agreed to replace the transmission but its like i got the lemon of all hondas!!!

Automatic transmission shudders during acceleration. Car has 76,000 miles.

I was driving my car the other night on the street and all of a sudden it didn't wanna drive forward anymore. Check engine light came on. I scanned for the codes and my scanner said it was the output speed sensor and also torque converter clutch circuit stuck off. The car won't drive forward or backward.

While driving the cari noticed when i put my foot on gas it wasn't responding. I got a few more feet down the road and the car stopped. I the tried to give it gas nothing happened. I had the car towed to the shop and was told my transmission was completely shot at 97000miles . The car has been maintained very well with the transmission fluid being changed. I know honda has had many problems with their transmissions .this is the second honda i have owned that the transmission has failed and after this it might be the last honda i own.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while downshifting, the gears shifted violently and the vehicle lunged forward abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where they advised the contact that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown. The current mileage was approximately 121,124.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving approximately 80 mph the vehicle would not shift into gear and the speed would not decrease. The contact shifted the gear to d3 in order to lower the speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

2004 honda accord transmission melted. Customer states while driving the vehicle, it would not accelerate and did not have any gears without any warning. Mechanic determined the transmission imploded.the mechanic informed the consumer that the gears had melted.

Left a light and made a left-hand turn when the transmission "disengaged."(had revs, no movement.)d3 would not work, d2 got it going again.never could get it to work in d3 or d on the way home (about 5 miles).stopped once and restarted the engine, but had the same problem.left it sit for a whileat home (2 h), and tried again; same problem.had it towed to a dealer and left it there for a week.they used it for 39 miles but did not find anything.

1)new wheel bearing at 10,768 miles2)new transmission and removal/replacement of same shift cable at 10,791 miles (service tech acknowledges the noise on the work ticket)3)rotate and balance of tires due to a serious vibration problem in the steering wheel at 10,791 miles4)resurfacing of original rotors, 4-wheel alignment due to noise at 11,002 miles 5)replacement of old rotors with new rotors and brake pads at 11,184 miles.we cannot understand why all this work has been performed on our vehicle if everyone now states that they cannot hear the grinding noise.we have made multiple good faith attempts (5 logged which includes the final attempt, and 1 not logged), to have our car repaired correctly.at this time, we are only left with the route of arbitration procedures or be left with a substandard honda product.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving 35 mph, the engine stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact also heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to rick roush honda (3157 medina rd, medina, oh 44256, (330) 725-3999) where the contact was informed that the automatic transmission control module needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 200,000.

Third gear constantly pops out of gear upon slower/normal acceleration.the fluid was changed at approx 12k miles, third gear synchro was replaced at approx 15k, and now around 19k it is happening again..major safety concern as car wont accelerate in neutral.

I was merging onto an expressway and i shifted into 3rd gear to accelerate to the speed of (heavy) traffic. The transmission popped out of gear and i was nearly rear-ended by a tractor trailer (that was going too fast). I had to swerve over to the shoulder to avoid the collision. This popping out of gear, and difficulty shifting into gear has been going on for three years and occurs 3 or 4 times a month.after this near miss, i took the car into get it serviced (this was in 2006). I was told by the dealer that this was normal for this transmission and that there was no fix for the problem. I have not had any close calls (as bad as the first one) since, but i have learned to force the car into 3rd gear every time. I have also had my share of horns directed at me due to delayed acceleration. Recently, i did an internet search on "3 gear accord 6 cylinder manual" and one of the results was honda service bulletin 08-020. This bulletin covers my 06 accord and is for "transmission grinds when shifting into 3rd gear, pops out of 3rd gear, or is hard to shift into 3rd gear, note: these symptoms can be intermittent and sometimes more noticeable in colder climates. Faulty 3rd gear synchronizer or shift sleeve" sounds exactly like my problem so i went to the dealer today to have it corrected. The dealer went for a test drive and couldn't duplicate the problem (it can go for over a week without showing up), he said honda's policy was unless they could see the problem honda would not authorize any repairs to be made. So honda has found a problem with their transmission (the one that almost caused me to have a collision), released a service bulletin on how to fix it, but refuses to do any repairs until this 3 or 4 times a month intermittent problem starts to fail often enough for it to fail while the dealer is actually driving the car. Meanwhile everyone with this transmission is placed in harms way.

3rd gear repeatedly either fails to engage or remain engaged.has happened repeatedly...3rd gear & synchro(?) replaced after updated fluid didn't help.first happened at 6k, then 15k, then at 19k.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While stopped, the contact was crashed into from the rear. The vehicle that crashed into the contact was driving 40 mph. The contact stated that the rear driver's side seat belt did not secure the passenger during impact, causing the rear passenger to slam into the back of the driver's head rest. The passengers were taken to the hospital due to head injuries. A total of two occupants suffered injuries. A police report was filed. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were unavailable.

I had a blow out and passenger airbags came out and seatbelt locked up. Driving about 40 miles on a straight away.

Air bag light is on. 71-10 permanent fault code; open circuit in drivers seat position sensor. Air bag system is disabled because of this.

2006 honda accord driver shoulder seat belt will not retract or extend. On may 19, 2014 got into my honda accord and could not get my drivers seat belt to work.honda will not replace this faulty seat belt under the seat belt warranty even though this malfunction was not caused by an accident, collision or misuse. Honda is not concerned with safety.seat belts save lives and in louisiana wearing a seat belt is the law, but according the honda of covington and the honda headquarters they are not required to replace a faulty seat belt.

From what i can tell this is not a safety issue.just bought 2006 accord se mid april taking delivery a week later.returned the vehicle today after long trip to bordering state in which the connection at the door panel of the shoulder safety belt rattles right into the drivers left ear.had this trip been taken within the 5 day period after taking delivery and been told it was something which could not be fixed, it would have been returned to the dealer for return of our 99 acura.now i have a brand new car with rattle at my left ear and most unhappy.i love driving and this takes away driving pleasure.this is not the first honda we have owned but may well be the last!we have praised the honda products when asked about our thoughts and feelings on hondas, as husband had acura which was traded in for this vehicle.was also told this is common problem and has been for a few years.we had 87 civic, 90 accord se, 99 acura, and 97 accord se.this is first time we have had a problem that was not fixed!!!!had the feeling since does not affect how the car runs or safety factor, it is nothing.

Airbag light went on. Replacement of drivers seat position sensor needed. Parts from honda $700 plus labor. No water located near seat at time of light activation. No electronics near seat at time of light activation.

While driving approximately 10 mph on normal road conditions proceeding into an intersection, suddenly, an opposing vehicle crashed into the passenger side rear of the vehicle.the front driver side head-rest detached from the seat which ejected into the rear of the vehicle striking the occupant. The driver side rear passenger sustained minor injury to the face and neck. The police was called to the scene.the vehicle was towed to a collision center. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 32,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph and entering a parking space, the vehicle erroneously accelerated and jumped a nearby curb. The brakes did not respond to deceleration attempts and crashed into several bushes and a sign. Upon coming to a stop, the contact was able to resume operation as normal. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

The local honda dealership wanted me to pay $1700 for a fault in the bark sensor, this has continued to be a trend with this vehicle

From the driver's statement to the police on the day of the accident (from the police report):i was trying to park my car there were some cars in front and back but there was a lot of space.all of a sudden my car jumped and rushed and suddenly go fast.it went forward at a fast speed.i didn't see anyone else because i was trying to keep the car in the street and [not] going into any other cars.i had crossed the street down, i don't know what cross street. At the cross street my car hit another car.?from a witness statement to the police (from the police report):i observed a ... Sedan coming from the north squealing its tires, racing past us spreading smoke.the woman behind the wheel appeared agitated and was attempting to get around the sedan to her left? she passed the car at ... And appeared to pick up speed.from another witness statement to the police (from the police report):while there, he heard the sound of tires screeching north on his location.he immediately looked behind him and observed that v1 was approaching southbound ... Creating a cloud of grey smoke due to its front tires spinning.from another witness statement to the police (from the police report)the tire of the vehicle was smoking and left skid marks on the road.

1.)every time i tap my brakes in an attempt to slow down when on the highway, the front end of the car starts shaking. I had new tires put on, the breaks replaced and had the rotors checked. I had a check performed on the front end and the mechanic says there is nothing wrong with the brakes, front alignment or my tires. 2.) the cars shakes when i apply the breaks when slowing down while traveling at high speed. I had the suspension checked and nothing was noted out of the ordinary. 3.) when i start the car, the airbag light comes on stays on.other times when i start the car. The airbag light comes on and goes off.

When nearing a stop and trying to make a right turn, it will make a sound... Then keeps going before actually stopping... Increasing risk of hitting car in front. Also when on the highway, car will want to kind of stall out die. Maybe a short circuit or something that is defective.

While driving down the road and approaching a stop sign, i pressed my brakes and noticed that my vehicle did not stop immediately.i had to put more pressure on my brakes than normally needed.this is not the first time that i experienced this issue.i believe that honda accord brakes wear too quickly.please look into this issue, it is a serious safety concern.

Steering wheel fluids causing the car not to turn well.i have had it checked out at the dealership honda worldalso the brakes have been changed but feel when i stop they tend to rolling.

Brakes in my car become much less responsive to brake pedal than normal.had to press to floor to get car to brake.vsa modulator replaced at cost of $1600

- the contact stated the ima brake system does not work effectively on his 2005 honda hybrid. He occasionally has to apply the brakes with force to stop the vehicle.the vehicle has approximately 12,000 miles.the contact stated he has taken the vehicle to the dealer, but they are unable to duplicate the failure.there are no warning indicators.updated 02/16/07.

Car: 2006 honda accord exldefect: rear brake uneven wearcurrent mileage 23,950problem: my mechanic has inspected the breaks today and informed me that my accord has an assembly defect. Rear brake pads are not wearing out evenly, with exterior pads (both sides in the rear) have about 50% life left -- and interior pads on both sides have 0% life left.this indicates the faulty assembly that causes the interior pads not releasing completely after braking. As a result, there is a disproportionate wear of pads. Thank you!

2006 honda accord 2-door 4-cyl, rear brakes worn out at 32,000 miles, front brakes still at 60%, rear brakes pads replaced and rotors machined at cost of $199.

Brakes grab suddenly when applied, bringing car to an abrupt stop and jerking the occupants forward.dealer has reviewed twice. Told within specifications.on dealers suggestion called honda america. Representative scott told me nothing could be done. Put him on notice of safety problem ,complaint #n012007-04-2401645.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord.when the brake pedal was depressed, the contact heard a loud noise.on one occasion, while driving 15 mph, the brakes locked and caused the vehicle to slide.he took the vehicle to the dealer on numerous occasions and the technician stated that the brake fluid was discolored and contaminated.the technician flushed the brake lines twice and is in the process of replacing the brake calipers.the contact called an independent technician and was informed that the entire brake component needed to be replaced.he called the manufacturer and is waiting for a response.the failure mileage was 27,000 and current mileage was 38,000.

I own a 2006honda accord coupe and find that even in this vehicle there is amomentary loss of braking capability while traveling over an uneven road surface, pothole or bump.

Rear brakes worn out on 2006 honda accord. I went to have the rotors on the rear brakes turned and the tech measured them and they were both at 8.5 mm. Indicating that they had previously been turned. The car has 50k miles and has had the rear brakes replaced twice.these brake pads are tiny for such a large car and i feel this is a serious safety hazard. The pads wear out much faster than any other car i have owned and wouldn't expect this to occur. Therefore, it makes it a safety hazard because an average driver wouldn't think to check this condition. The front brakes are in good shape, why would one set of brakes wear out so much faster than the other set?

2005 honda accord lx with rear drum brakes:when brakes are applied at highway speeds (65 mph), the brakes pulse heavily.this issue has been present from when the car was new.the same pulsation is present on a 2004 honda accord lx with rear drum brakes.

Rear brakes had to be replaced at 28,431 miles.contributing factor may be that 99% of the 28,431 miles accrued from city driving.inspection revealed front brake pads did not need to be replaced at this time.

I bought my car new in 2006 i currently have 42,000 miles on it and have had to have the rear brake pads and front brakes replaced already.the rear pads were replace around 30,000 and the front rotors at 42,000. Having brakes replaced at this mileage doesn't seem reasonable.

Premature rear brake wear on 2006 honda accord ex-v6 automatic.rear brakes are wearing before front brakes.screeching from rear brakes at 30k.

At about 15k miles started to feel wobble in the wheel and car when brakes applied continued to get worse, had to replace pads and rotors with aftermarket ones of better quality.

I have had several visits to the dealer over the past year and half with popping or clunking noises in the brakes.also, several times the car juddered when stopping.the front rotors were turned at approx. In feb. '08, @27000 miles, and again at approx. In aug. Or sep '08@ 38,000 miles plus the front brake pads were replaced.on dec. 26, 2008 juddered exiting the interstate to stop for lunch.after stopping for lunch, the right front wheel locked up on me 3 separate occasions.the car was towed to the closest honda dealership.the only thing they found was contamination in the brake lines.i drove the car from this dealership home and to the dealer where all of the service has been done.they flushed the brake lines on monday, dec. 29.told me to return in 500 miles and they would flush the lines again.less than 150 miles later, the right front locked up on me again on fri.jan. 2, 2009.once again, i took my car to honda on sat. 3, 09.they flushed the lines again, checked everything, turned the rear rotors, drove the car 323 miles without any problems.the service department told me to be careful and told me to return if the brakes acted up again.all the time the service department stated that the brakes were in working order and could not duplicate the problem.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving 5 mph, the contact depressed the brakes and they would not respond. The vehicle did not stop or decline in speed as the vehicle crashed into another vehicle.there were no injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damages. The dealer performed a diagnostic but was unable to duplicate or locate a failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 33,255.updated 01/11/2011*ljupdated 04/12/11

Dashboard lights simultaneously indicate failure in: anti-lock brake system, vehicle stability control system, and brakes.

Honda rear brake pads replaced twice in 48,000 miles.front brakes still good.

Vibration and shudder when braking - loss of braking ability. Had this problem earlier in about a year after car was purchased. Dealer resurfaced rotors and that seemed to address the issue. However, the problem is back and seems most prominent when the weather is warm. Not sure why this issue keeps reappearing - have less than 50k miles on the vehicle and rotors seem to be warping when hot.

When various pressure is applied to the brakes the rpms increase and the car surges forward. This is a random occurrence that has happened about 5 or 6 times since ihad the car new in september 2006.

Brakes are extremely sensitive.applying the brakes while driving at slow speeds can often give the feeling that the occupants may hit the windshield...even though wearing seatbelts.honda service tech's have acknowledged that they are that way but maintain "that is just the way they are" and "you're just going to have to get used to it."i've owned this car almost 2 years and it is the only one i ever drive...and i am not able to brake this car smoothly.when i offer to let others drive my car they comment on the touchy brakes and have mentioned that it is a safety hazard.based on comments by honda service tech's and other drivers, i feel that honda is well aware of this poor brake design but refuse to do anything about it.

Dt*: the contact stated the brakes roared and vibrated when going down a steep incline.the dealership switched out the pads on 6-06.this corrected the problem for about a month.the problem persisted after the repair.

The brakes in this car have never worked properly since day 1. Lots of vibration, very touchy, etc.. And i notice alot of break dust in the tires. Definitely a problem.

The fifth incident also took place on thursday, march 9, 2006.my vehicle had been driven approximately 3591 miles.the details of the incident were as follows:the fifth incident occurred a few minutes after the fourth incident.i continued to drive after the fourth incident and turned right.i drove forward on a flat surface at no more than 15 mph.i approached a stop sign.i braked in advance of the stop sign.the brake pedal became very hard.i was unable to push the brake pedal.the car rolled into the intersection and eventually stopped.fortunately, no pedestrians or cars were present at the intersection.i called american honda motor co., inc.my case is currently being reviewed.i have called american honda motor co., inc. Thanks

My 06 honda accord was shaking when braking at 24k miles i took the car to the dealership. They check the brakes said nothing is wrong with the brakes. At 36k miles i had to change the back brake pads. I told the service manager that's not right but he said sorry you need them nothing i can do. 13k miles later they need to be replaced again. So i have 50k miles on the car still have the original brake pads on the front and are on my third set of pads in the back. But they say no problems ?!@#$%!!!!

I purchased a new 2006 accord and took delivery on march 29, 2006 from clinton honda, clinton, nj. Within one day after delivery i noticed a thumping sound and vibration from the front of the car during hard braking. I made a service appointment at the earliest available date at the dealership. On friday, april 7, 2006 the service manager, mr. William wilson, informed me that the front brake rotors were slightly warped and glazed and that honda would resurface the rotors under warranty. Mr. Wilson informed me that it is honda policy to resurface brake rotors once under warranty. I asked honda to replace the front rotors but they have refused. Brand new rotors should not be warped and glazed, this is a serious safety hazard. Honda should not be allowed to sell such a defective car.

I purchased a new 2006 honda accord in march 2006 and i experienced a thumping in the brake pedal and made an appointment with the dealer and returned the vehicle where they resurfaced the rotors.i was not happy with a new vehicle having resurfaced rotors so i had the dealer make a notation on my warranty order.within a week i was experiencing the same problem.i contacted the dealer and they resurfaced them again and i was real unhappy because when i left the dealer the problem was still there.i contacted the service manager who agreed to have the rotors changed which supposedly they did.well i am starting to experience the same type of thumping when exiting the highway but at a lesser level at this time.i do feel however that honda may have a problem in this area and would hope they correct it soon as this is a safety issue.i have owned honda's since 1975 and have never experienced the amount of problem i have had with this honda as i have on all my other honda's combined.

Dt*:the contact stated the front of the vehicle vibrates anytime the brakes are applied.the vehicle has not been seen by the dealer, but was inspected by the contact.the contact, a certified mechanic, determined the rotors were beginning to show excessive wear at only 6,812 miles.updated 3/9/2006 -

I purchased my 2006 honda accord in november 2005.i noticed a couple of weeks ago that i have a vibration in the braking system.i contacted the dealership and they had to take the rear rotors off and sand them down.i was perplexed because the vehicle only has 13,000 miles on it.according to honda standards, that is not even a break in period.i have also had a problem with my alarm system the couple of months i had it, but that problem has been remedied.since then, i noticed my headlights dim on occasion and i have been informed that this is a "normal characteristic" of the vehicle. It amazes me how sensitive this car is.i thought the situation with the brakes was important to log a complaint. This is my third honda, and this is the very first time i had to take a honda to the dealership for other than an usual service. I am not very happy about this.i am at the point where i am thinking about getting rid of the vehicle and it is not a year old yet.

Dt*: the contact stated while applying brake pressure at various speeds, the engine revved at an accelerated rate and lurched forward without warning.this problem was intermittent in nature.the vehicle was inspected by a dealer who performed a diagnostic test which produced no failure codes, although the problem persisted.the manufacturer was notified.updated 11/9/2006 - it was later determined that the problem was user related.whent he brake pedal decended below the level of the accelerator pedal the consumer's foot contacted the accelerator pedal causing the engine to rev.

My 2006 honda accord ex v6 was taken on a trip. The first day of the trip, dark smoked poured into the vehicle through the interior vents and also came out from under the hood. A very large amount of dark smoke was involved and also had a distinct smell of burning. It appeared as though the car was going to catch on fire. We immediately pulled off of the road, jumped out of the car, and called a tow truck to take the vehicle to a nearby honda dealership. The service manager called to say the high pressure hose had a hole in it which caused fluid to leak onto the catalytic converter. He said the pump seals were leaking and the power steering pump needed to be replaced. We were without a car for two and a half days while on vacation. Later found out appletree honda in fletcher nc charged $314 for a used pump, though never telling us it was used. The hose cost $136.43, along with other belts, etc... We left with a $914.00 bill.

2006 honda accord.consumer seeks reimbursement for a faultypower steering hose.the consumer stated she wrote honda requesting reimbursement for additional expenses incurred due to the faulty engineering and poor quality of the oem's power steering hose. Honda contactedthe consumer, to inform her, they would not honor her request. Due to the fact that the vehicle functioned for many years with the faulty hose, the power steering pump had to be replaced as well. The consumer referenced recall # 12v222000

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 12v222000 (steering); however, the contact stated that the power steering fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, he noticed a fire had started from under the hood. The contact attempted to apply the brakes and also the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle would not respond. The contact was able to exit the vehicle without injuries. The police were contacted and the fire was extinguished by the local fire department. A fire and police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was deemed as destroyed and towed to a salvage yard. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 12v222000 (steering) one month after the fire, which advised consumers that there was a possibility that the defect could have resulted in an under-hood fire. The failure and current mileages were approximately 62,000.

Vehicle was traveling 45 mph on firestone, affinity tires with less then 20,000 miles on them.while traveling on dry, good pavement the right rear tire experienced a complete blowout causing the vehicle to turn violently to the left and come to a complete stop in a bar ditch. The tire was intact, but had crawled off the rim. Tire pressure was checked two days prior and was well within proper limits of the required psi.the vehicle was totaled as a result of the blowout and crash..

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated thathe noticed the vehicle was leaking power steering fluid. The vehicle was able to be driven to a private mechanic where it was found that the rack and pinion failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v222000 (steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections). The failure mileage was 95,000 and the current mileage was 98,000.

There was a recall for power steering, i had it in twice under warranty and it was never fixed. Now it is past warranty and they want $495 to fix. It is very dangerous driving this car without power steering.

I bought a used vehicle from aloha motor groups inc. On feb. 28, 2020. I was never told that the vehicle was salvaged. They told me that they were sending my title and everything out. I hadn't received anything as of august 28, 2020, so i went to the dealership where they pulled out my title, attached to someone else's paperwork, and realized that the salvage inspection was never cleared. So, now i am stuck with them not having any explanation or means of fixing this issue. They are denying their involvement and are refusing to have a new maryland safety inspection done after the salvage inspection is completed even though they failed to provide a proper inspection and title for over 6 months.

Upon driving the vehilce, the steering became very hard to handle. It seemed to be locked up. I tried to avoid a street sign as i panicked, but scrapped it with my drivers side rear door.i had my fiance bring me a bottle of power steering fluid after noticing the reservoir was empty. He filled it and asked me to start the vehicle. He immediately told me to turn it off because it was smoking from where fluid was shooting out of the power steering fluid hose above the rack and pinion. The vehicle was towed back to our home (5miles) because it was after local shops had closed. The local honda shop said that my vin didnt fall under a recall only v6 models and mine is a 4 cycl. Upon doing some searching i have found at least 6 nhtsa claims for 4 cycl.nhtsa id number: 10525409nhtsa id number: 10522947nhtsa id number: 10480634nhtsa id number: 10478592nhtsa id number: 10478320nhtsa id number: 10402670the part numbers involved in the recall was 53713-sdb-a01, the 4 cycl is 53713-sdc-a02. These numbers are waaaay to close to not include them in the recall. Matter of fact, the 53713-sdc-a02 is also replaced with 53713-sda-a52, which tells me that an update was made. The local shop wants $300 for repairs, and the honda shop wants $400 for the repairs. The 4 cyclinder should be included in this recall, it is unsafe and could cause a fire with the amount of fluid that was under pressure and hitting the exhaust. Power steering fluid is flamable.

The failure mileage was 87,000.

Power steering hose is leaking and could cause potential fire due to the location in the engine compartment. This is a problem in multiple models of honda and has been recalled before, but not in my model. Please consider the placement in future vehicles and resolve this issue in current ones.

In february, i had to replace the power steering pump, and driver side power window switch. In june i had to replace the starter motor.

Power steering fluid keeps gushing out of the housing unit.transmission keeps on studders when shifting from 1st gear to 2nd. Marking whining noises.

Steering: on friday july 1, 2016, my honda accord v4 began to shudder and shake as i backed out of the driveway. I stopped and turned off the car.after a short wait, i restarted the car and proceeded to back out onto the street, but the shaking of the steering wheel was very pronouncedand i immediately returned to the driveway. A check of the fluids revealed very low power steering fluid, below the minimum level mark. After topping up the chamber with new fluid, the car started and was operable withoutshaking and no steering problems. However, the level in the chamber sank immediately below the minimum line after just a minute or two of operation (i backed a short distance down the drive). There were a significant number of fresh fluid spots on the drive. More fluid was added and the car was successfully driven to the dealership located 2 miles from our home, where it is awaiting repair.the dealer reported this morning that both the high pressure line and the return line were leaking. Since the car was driven with no problems or signs of leaks the day before, and because these leaks appeared suddenly, without any prior problems with steering or power steering fluid levels, we believe this failure poses a significant risk to the driver, passengers, and others on the road. There was also the potential of an engine fire due to the leaking fluid. The car has regular maintenance and very low mileage (<30000 miles). The nhtsa issued a recall in 2012 (12v222000) for 2003-2007 accord v6s. Because that recall was due to defective lines/hoses, and our car's hoses also failed in the same way, we believe that further investigation into other accord engine sizes andvin numbers should be conducted and included in the recall.

When driving at slow speeds the steering get tight and stiff for a short period of time and then it's fine. The power steering fluid is black but not leeking.

Malfunctioning parts

With the vehicle in motion, the steering wheel makes a creaking noise when turning to the left and when turning to the right.

Power steering feed hose was repaired by autonation honda of roseville in april, 2012 and it is leaking from last year again. Spoken with honda they told us go to dealer they should takes care of it but autonation told us no they will not repair it again. Please help. I delivered my vehicle to a local honda dealer (aventura honda) on march 27, 2014 (pursuant to american honda motor co.'s letter to me dated march 2014 and telephonic instructions from american honda motor co. Personnel) regarding nhtsa recall 12v-222. Please note that, initially, i was unable to schedule the warranty part replacement with aventura honda, despite my in-person and telephone attempts to do so. After several weeks, american honda motor co. Personnel arranged for an appointment. Prior to any work being performed, my vehicle was inspected by the service technician in my presence as he attempted to explain the 2-3 hours he estimated it would take to do the part replacement. At no point did he indicate that there was any defect in any of the connecting parts. I spent the entire time my care was being serviced in the service area attempting to me with the service manager as instructed by american honda motor co. Personnel. After the work was completed, i observed notes on the service invoice indicating that the pump and reservoir were now leaking. I brought this (and its discrepancy with the earlier inspection of my vehicle) to the attention of the dealer's service staff, to no avail. Upon returning home, i contacted american honda motor co. Personnel and relayed the incident to them and provided them with a copy of the invoice.i was told that american honda motor co. Would investigate and get back to me with their proposed solution.i have subsequently been contacted by both the dealer and american honda motor co. Personnel. I have been told that the cost for additional repairs to my car are estimated at over $600.00. American honda motor co. Initially offered to offset that cost, but after i attempted to discuss the matter further, i was subsequently informed me that the offer had been rescinded and that they have closed the file on the matter.

The power steering failed while driving down the freeway. The handling was more difficult but the car was drivable to my workplace. Checking under the hood it was evident that the high pressure power steering hose failed at the connection directly above the catalytic converter.after doing a little online research, it appears that the failure is identical to the failures covered by a recall for the 6 cylinder models of honda accords for 2003 to 2007 years. A url for the article i looked at is -http://www.honda.com/newsandviews/article.aspx?id=6912-en this particular car is a 4 cylinder 2006 honda accord. My guess is that you might want to consider expanding the recall to cover the 4 cylinder models. If you would like, i can email a photo of the hose failure.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)/

I went to the honda north of clovis, ca for a routine oil change and was told that my rack & pinion needed to be replaced due to power steering fluid leaking and causing damage. I was quoted $934.77 to perform this procedure. I did some research on this as my car had always made a strange clicking/creaking noise when turning the wheel. I thought this was normal as i'd never owned a honda before. In my research i found that v6 models of the 2006 honda accord have been issued a recall, #12v222000. Apparently my model is not included in this recall however, it should be. I only have 87,358 miles on my car and have always maintained the car properly. I also purchased an extended warranty 7 years, 126k miles when i purchased my vehicle. That warranty just expired in september of 2013 and the dealer notified me that this repair would not be covered under warranty. I am certain that the steering fluid has been leaking since before my warranty was expired as it has led to the damage of the entire rack & pinion. They also noted that there is some grease on the cv which was probably caused from the power steering leak.i feel that the 2006 honda accord ex model needs to be included in this recall as it is more than apparent that this is a faulty part regardless of being a v6 or not. I would appreciate some advice as to how this can be remedied.

When backing down from driveway, steering wheel makes awful noise and hard to turn, esp. When backing and turning. Also before this happens, fluid leaking and a part popped out.

I noticed my vehicle was leaking fluid on the garage floor.later my steering started to get rigid and make noises.while i was driving i started to smell something burning.i took the vehicle into the closet shop and i was told that my high pressure power steering hose was leaking oil on the exhaust system and was dangerous to be driving because of a fire.after, i fixed my vehicle i noticed that there was a recall for the same issue on the 2003-07, v6 honda accords.according to the honda service bulletin the recall was the same hose by just a part number apart.because my honda accord in a 4 cylinder it was not shown as being eligible to be fixed by honda.i am very disappointed in honda!!

Tl *the contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v222000 (steering). The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the power steering rack had a leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,000, and the current mileage was 104,000.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, he noticed the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact stated that the power steering failed and the battery warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. Also, the temperature gauge reading increased and immediatelly after the contact noticed smoke emitting from underneath the hood. After placing the vehicle in park the contact inspected the vehicle and noticed power steering fluid spraying out of the power steering hose which was cracked in two places. In addition, the alternator belt was shredded at the edges. The vehicle was towed to the contacts home and was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 12v222000 (steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections) that may be related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 129,885.

My 2006 accord along with 500,000+ others and 52,000+ acura tls had a recall regarding the power steering hose.i want to mention i have owned 20 some cars over the years, many with 200,000 miles or more.so, in june i took my accord in for an oil change and mentioned my power steering felt a little off...so, turns out honda stated my power steering pump was failing and replaced it.and, there was no association with the power steering hose recall, so expense was all on me.now, i have had to replace exactly 1 power steering pump in my life and it was oddly on the only car that ever had an issue with a power steering hose...coincidence?i do find this troublesome for 2 reasons, 1)power steering works off pressure and if a hose is faulty that would impact the pressure and thus potentially cause pumps to overwork, etc and 2)since the hose was recalled, was the identification of a failed pump a cost recovery discovery?i ask this second one because my power steering felt worse after replacement and turned out i just needed my tires rotated.i did write to honda but have yet to receive a response.the purpose here however is civic duty in nature and i felt it worth asking the question, how many of the 550,000+ recalls for power steering hoses have also resulted in power steering replacements?

Power steering hose recall. Took vehicle to hoda dealership to fix damaged hose for the recall. Leaking hose caused pump to malfunction due to not enough fluid or pressure going or pressure going into pump. Dealership service determined that the hose was the cause of the pump leak. I have the report from honda stating they are at fault for the power steering pump failure. I am not the original owner so i found out about the recall after smoke appeared on the hood of my vehicle. Honda did an investigation and denied any repairs on the pump. Honda only fixed hose and tried up selling the repairs for the pump.

At about 48,000 miles on the cars odometer, my power steering pump failed, it was not all the time only when turning and parking, with vehicle not in motion.the dealer said that the power steering pump was loosing pressure and that it only happens on v6 models.

Steering wheel fluids causing the car not to turn well.i have had it checked out at the dealership honda worldalso the brakes have been changed but feel when i stop they tend to rolling.

Power steering pressure line hose started leaking and is dripping down on to the exhaust heat shield.mechanic had same model car catch on fire due to this problem, even though it was a v4 not a v6. V6 model has recall for this issue. V4 does not. Ours is also a v4.we were advised not to drive the car and now required to replace the hose at $336.the hose is very close to the engine and is not protected from heat, also when it fails it will drip on the heat shield.we believe the v4 model should be included in the recall and is a safety risk to owners.

I was driving in the lane, probably around 20-25miles through the traffic. I was trying to turn little towards rightbut something happened in steering wheel (locked/stuck - i do not know) but the car didn't turn. The truck/van coming from other direction and my car crashed. I immediately got out of the car to safety. I was taken to emergency from the crash site. After 2nd visit to hospital i was diagnosed with a rib fracture.i reached out to honda america regarding this and they said since the vehicle is not able to be inspected they can't do anything regarding this matter. I urge nhtsa to inquire further in 2006 honda accord steering issue since i survived a fatal accident, other might not be able to. If you need further details please reach out to me.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated while driving at 50 mph, the contact stated that her vehicle became difficult to steer. The contact stated after exiting her vehicle and entering her home she noticed her vehicle was on fire. The fire department responded and there were no injuries. The contacts vehicle was totaled. The failure mileage was 132,000.

I have a recall on my vehicle, but having a hard time to get the local honda dealership to get my part replace.

The power steering hose has developed a leak which is causing p ower steering fluid to leak onto hot engine parts resulting in spoke in the interior and engine bay. There is a recall for this exact problem on v6 models but not the v4 like i have.

Vehicle began leaking power steering (p/s) fluid while in use, vehicle began to make noise associated with low p/s fluid.problem with power steering hose feed line leaking p/s fluid which is then spreading towards hot components associated with vehicle exhaust system.nhtsa campaign number#12v222000 should be evaluated and expanded to the 2006 honda accord 2.4 l 4-cyclinder vehicles that are experiencing the same issues as the v6 motors.

My driver side air bag is already deployed.when i called my honda dealership to schedule the passenger side, i asked if the driver side would also be done. The rep said that it would. When i got to the dealership, they tried to charge me $250.00 to have it done.i cannot afford this.the date of 05/01/2015 is a guess.

Power steering hose leaks for honda accord 2006 sedan ex, v6. Hoses are moist and oily wet. The steering wheels continues to squeaks when turning. The fluid level is low even after refill up to full max fill line. Honda dealer inspected and said they replaced hoses in april 2013 after recalls were issued for power steering hose leaks/deterioration. Now it is april 2017, again is this a recurring issue/concern for honda accord v6 automobiles?

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated the power steering hose leaked oil into the exhaust system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated there were no recalls for the failure and the cost to replace the hose would be $400. The manufacturer was contacted and a claim was filed. The manufacturer offered no other assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 90,000. Updated 06/10/11the power steering high pressure hose leaked onto the exhaust generating smoke and a burning smell. The vehicle was taken to an acura dealer who stated that the smoke was caused by a failure of the high pressure steering hose which was included on a safety recall by the same manufacturer for two separate acura models with the same engine and high pressure power steering hose as the one in the honda accord. However, there was no recall for the failed part on the honda model. The replacement hose and installation would cost $400. The manufacturer was contacted and a claim was filed. The manufacturer offered no other assistance. The vehicle was repaired by the acura dealer at the vehicle's owners expense of $438.80. The replacement part listed on the dealers repair invoice is the same as the failed part listed on the service bulletin filed with the nhtsa by the manufacturer. Updated 08/31/11

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While attempting to make a u-turn, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The day after the failure, the contact noticed drops of power steering fluid on the pavement. The contact stated that the failure began approximately one month ago, but subsided after power steering fluid was added. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

I own a 06 honda accord i have had to replace the remote key twice the plastic cracks on the front cover making the key almost impossible to use.these keys cost $150 to replace .i have spoken to the dealer & hondaabout this matter all to no avail !

The paint is coming off to the primer! i was back in 2010 it was weather related but where it started chipping i just do not see how it is weather related!!!! every honda i see my year model down the paint is coming off.

Water leaked into the trunk damaging some materials that were being stored in the trunk.after a trip to the dealership (third trip for various problems), the dealership returned the vehicle with an explanation that it did not leak water. I know the car did indeed leak water.i certainly would not be able to drive around with the trunk up and have clearance to see!i feel honda repaired the leak and then returned it stating it did not leak.the particle board covering the tireis warped now.since honda claims it did not leak, there is nothing i can do.

Water was discovered in trunk.office equipment stored in trunk was damaged.honda dealer found leak to be coming from rear window and resealed the leak.in servicing the vehicle they have damaged it further and it has required 6 trips thus far to attempt to correct their errors.parts are on order and unfortunately will require more trips to the service department.

My car crashed into several wooden posts where the entire front end was damaged including the frame and my air bags never deployed.

Hi,my accord's paint has been peeling since approx. 1 year after i got the vehicle.it first started with the windows, then the trunk, now it is on the top and sides and more around windows.peeled parts around windows immediately, and on the trunk it started as small circles, which have now spread to 50% of the car- it is going to rust and there is bare body and not any paint left in these areas.i have made many attempts, all which they told me i would have to pay for the paint- including a $250 quote from the dealer for the trunk only.recently, i took my car there for service and they took a gash out of my paint in the back bumper so i have to get the bumper painted too now.since this is a nationwide defect it should be recalled and the cstmr should not be responsible!please help!ps- this is my 2nd honda from the same dealer (dealer who also wont help), and im actua;;y ready to buy a third but afraid.

I have white patches on my black honda accord. I went for an estimate (at the auto paint shop honda uses) on a new paint job and was informed that there is no reason my vehicle should be in such bad condition. The white spots are on the hood, trunk, and roof. The dealer informed me there is no warranty and no recall for a defective paint job. The estimate started at 3500. I went for a second opinion and was told that there were 3 hondas same year, same color in for the same problem that week.

Rust is starting to bubble up.

Paint clear coat failed with well maintained paint.

My car crashed into several wooden posts where the entire front end was damaged including the frame and my air bags never deployed. The car was totaled and i suffered injuries which required medical treatment. I informed american honda of this issue on 2 seperate occasions and not once did they mention about looking into a possible defect in their vehicle.

The trunk lid, when opened, does not always stay up.occasionally, after the lid has been opened, it will start to close.in at least two or three instances, the lid came down and hit me on the upper forehead.the problem appears to be due to a marginal strength spring that may be due to a design defect or a defective spring.

Told by dealer that front control arm bushings were torn and needed to be replaced at $550.00. Researching on internet has revealed that there is a widespread problem with "compliance bushings" on these cars. Contacted honda case #[xxx]. They said there is no recall. I believe they are ignoring a problem that could affect steering and they should be forced to repair this defect.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord.while driving between 65-70 mph, the lower front driver's side ball joint failed and caused the axle to detach from the vehicle.the vehicle was towed to a dealer and they stated that the ball joint and axle damage was not due to normal wear and tear.the manufacturer will not cover the repair cost.the contact does not feel safe driving the vehicle.the current mileage was 55,000 and failure mileage was 54,000.updated 05/19/09

While changing brakes noticed compliance bushing cracked and falling apart.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph the front end of the vehicle fell on the ground causing the brakes and the steering knuckle to fail. The passenger side front wheel also separated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who inspected it, confirmed that the front axle was broken and the lower ball joint separated. The manufacturer would not offer any assistance with the repairs because they stated the failure was caused by driver error. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure and the current mileage was 26,000.

2006 honda accord ex l 4dr sedan. Air conditioner (a/c) blows warm air. Dealer said a/c condensor neededto be replaced which was not covered under warranty. Vehiclewas 8 months old and has 11000 miles. Honda custemer service not helpful.

Honda dealer identified that cause of air conditioner failure to be a stone striking the condenser causing fluid leak. Dealer conveyed that this is not covered by warranty.condenser should be better protected or stronger to prevent road damage.

I was driving on a city street (not more than 30-35mph) and came to a red light and stopped.my car stalled or died when i tried to accelerate after the light turned green.i'm not clear if my car stalled or died completely as i was too busy trying to make sure other drivers saw my emergency flashers. I could not accelerate and engine completely went quiet or dead. Both the check battery and oil lights flashed. Upon turning off my car and restarting all was fine and lithe check battery and oil lights went off. The car drove fine and lights have not come on again since.

I checked recalls on the airbagrecall.com website and did not find a recall on my airbag but found another recall instead.i did not receive the recall notice but after reading the description i paid for this out of pocket.i don't know how the notice was sent but i did not get it.i am not sure if only one notice was issued or if a follow-up notice was sent but i did not receive either.i need to reimbursed.i have my receipt where i paid for the repair.

"takata recall"the alarm does not sound when pressing the alarm button . Windshield wipers arm that house the wipers broke.

Transmission problem

Faulty transmission ,vehiclewill not moverandomly in fast moving traffic , stops revs but goes no place . Have doneflushes ,selnoids, fuel pump, starter and many more things . Reached out to honda opened casesblew me off several times .my son and i were almost killed in car several times never performed right from the start . The last time it happened was towed.

Car will not start intermittently.dealer could not find any problem.this has been going on for about 5 weeks.is there a recall of the ignition?

Official nhtsa page concerning recall #12v222000. While driving, my car's electrical system is making noise behind the steering wheel, my power steering fluid leaks, and my i got a check engine light with a catalytic converter issue.i think it's related to this recall.on a city street. Or the electrical system ticks or whines when i turn the car on.

Sun roof window shattered while driving on freeway at about 65mph. There was no indication of an object striking or hitting it, just a pop and a sudden rush of air that increased as the opening in the shattered safety glass grew larger. Luckly the inside cover was closed, so that the glass shards did not drop onto me while driving during the morning commute on a busy freeway. I was very surprised that the window did not have any lamination on it to keep it from falling into shards. The weather was raining and about 45 degrees f, but i did not hit a pot hole or hear/see any debris hit the car. I have had no previous issues with this window. The honda dealership said there were no safety recalls involving this window and that they would not cover anything related to this over 3 years old. The cost torepair was quoted at $468. The car was hail damaged two years ago, but i believe it had nothing to do with this event since tempered glass just completely shatters if damaged.

The air conditioner isn't cooling on the driver side. It appear to cool on the passenger side.

Thanks

Brakes in my car become much less responsive to brake pedal than normal.had to press to floor to get car to brake.vsa modulator replaced at cost of $1600

An unknown road debris (small pebble) struck the front of the vehicle (regular event), causing ac unit to fail. The dealer found that a pebble punctured a hole in ac condenser. This is brand new car.repair cost $700 and is not covered by warranty.in fact, ac condenser is exposed to incoming flow and is not protected. Apparently the condenser is also very fragile.honda said that it is normal. I think it is not.this is a design flaw that should be addressed, at least by providing free repair of this undue damage.

Contacted honda north america & leith honda of raleigh nc to fix srs supplemental restraint system on honda accord.they said i have to pay $138.00 diagnostic fee and $475.00 for a part that is in the steering wheel connected to the air bag system.vehicle was already serviced by leith honda of raleigh and the red light came back on while driving out of leith honda of raleigh parking lot.what is even worse is that the 2006 honda accord was being serviced today 02/07/2020 at the leith honda of raleigh dealership for an airbag recall.please force them to do the right thing and fix the whole system not just random parts.they know what the problem is & then tried to charge my wife another diagnostic fee to make extra money (very dishonest).when i called honda north america they just said it was between myself & leith honda of raleigh.very disappointed in both honda north america &especially leith honda of raleigh for trying to take advantage of a female.this is a ridiculous situation and a huge safety concern.i have know way to know if my airbag will function in an emergency.both leith honda of raleigh and honda north america need to help people.not everyone can spend $600.00 on a car that is worth only about $1,00.00they did the minimum required work of the airbag recall and let her go-like if they don't talk about the srs problem it will just go away.how do they sleep at night.

Vehicle air conditioner suddenly started blowing hot air upon starting the vehicle. Hot air would continue for approximately 20-30 minutes before the a/c would engage and begin cooling.

Basically, my 2006 honda accord ex 4-door sedan began to smoke and combusted almost immediately as i was taking it to the mechanic. Here's the story.my car was parked in a friend's garage that was located in gainesville, fl where i noticed that two lights appeared for the first time. One light was an emissions malfunction light and the other was a vehicle stability assist control light. This is after i had my car fully serviced for the usual 30,000 mile service. Anyways, i was taking the car to the mechanic since i figured those lights were somewhat concerning. I figured the emissions light needed to be looked at. I drove maybe a maximum of three to four miles when i noticed smoke under the hood of the car. There was a fire starting and surely enough it started to combust about 10 to 15 seconds later. My brakes also seemed to give out at the same time so i swerved into a parking lot to slow the car down and proceeded to get out of it with all my possessions still inside.as i watched in dismay as my car was on fire, i was wondering what come next. I had to deal with all the proper authorities, and subsequently became very ill the next day. I had suffered from a decent amount of stress and trauma since but i feel quite better now. There was no reason for this to happen because my car should have been in good order and has been in great condition for the past four years. The car is totally destroyed and the insurance company has taken care of it. I haven't made any formal complaints to newspapers, websites, or anything. This seems to be a good place to voice my concerns as to what happened and such.

My radio/ccd player has stopped working.turn it on and all you get is static.i would like to have it working againany suggestions?when i use my radio the vehicle is moving.it might not be important to you but it is to me.i have never had this happen in my cars

Honda dealer reported my vehicle is at risk for fire due to severely corroded manifold converter heat shields and mechanical failure of mid-tunnel underfloor heat shield.honda dealer estimated cost at $1,170.79 to prevent a fire.i spoke with supervisor darien at honda customer service and she was indifferent and repeated standard boilerplate.involved part numbers;hp18120-rca-a00, hp18121-rca-a00, hp18122-rca-a00, hp18123-rca-a00 and hp74601-sda-a01

I have been smelling gas periodically while driving.initially, i thought it might have been other vehicles in close proximity, but now believe it might be my vehicle.this occurs when i turn on the air conditioner.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving 5 mph, the contact depressed the brakes and they would not respond. The vehicle did not stop or decline in speed as the vehicle crashed into another vehicle.there were no injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damages.

Pulsating brakes problem on honda accord 2006. I have replaced the front brake rotors twice in the last 4 months and i still have the nagging pulsating brake problem on my 2006 honda accord lx-se model. The car has around 65,500 miles on it.

When various pressure is applied to the brakes the rpms increase and the car surges forward. This is a random occurrence that has happened about 5 or 6 times since ihad the car new in september 2006.

The car accelerates even when not pushing the pedal its the accelerator pedal position sensor was diagnosed and given code but honda will not repair this very dangerous safety recall on my car even though it is having the same symptoms from campaign 19e068. The car does this when in motion on any road or highway.

Malfunctioning parts

Tail lights stopped working, passenger and both back windows wont roll down...from forums i've read this is common. Honda needs to issue a recall and fix this for everyone!! also anyone else have to replace wiper linkage due to the excessive windshield wipers when they slam down, they've done this since bought the car off the lot brand new!

"takata recall"the alarm does not sound when pressing the alarm button . Windshield wipers arm that house the wipers broke.

2006 honda accord. Consumer states defect with vehicle windows *tgwthe consumer stated the windows would open at any time without command from the remote, even when the vehicle was off and parked. Several components within the window panel were replaced, but the consumer continued to experience the same problem.

Passenger outside mirror exploded while i was driving down the road. If the passenger window had been down it would have hit my daughter in her head. When the incident happened i stopped the car and picked up the mirror, there was no other cars or nothing around that could have hit the mirror, it made a very load noise but no other damage was done other than mirror came flying into in the side window and then hit the ground. All other parts on the mirror are in placeand fine, only the center mirror parts fell off the car. I took it back to honda to tell them the mirror fell out and the service manager left me standing there and didn't come back, he never got my name. I asked the desk boy where he had gone and he paged him and the said that he would call me, he didn't know who i was, my name or who the owner of the car was so how is he going to call me.brand new, only had the car 2 weeks.

During hot weather the mirror section of the inside rear view mirror became loose and began to vibrate,i pushed on the mirror section and it moved back and forth in the plastic housing.it became very distracting while driving, and also the vehicles i could see in the rear view mirror were distorted and not clearly seen.i told the dealer, they in turn called the engineers, who told my service department that they know about the problem, to fix the problem the dealer said they have to install some spacing material to stop the mirror from vibrating.the engineers said heat cause the spacer holding the mirror expands due to excessive heat.

Same annoying glass within the inside rearview mirror occasionally starts moving rapidly up and down within the plastic housing while driving andeven over the smallest parking lot surface cracks. This is constant for a few minutes of half of the entire trip. Makes the rearview almost useless and also the driver possibly dizzy. Surprised that making the rearview unexpectedly useless isn't enough of a safety issue to draft some attention. My dealer looked at me like i was crazy and denied any possibility of how this could be true, intermittently. Zone rep useless. I found this similar complaint, thank god i amnot alone - and look same model and year ! - cut and pasted it here :complaint number: 10159064summary:during hot weather the mirror section of the inside rear view mirror became loose and began to vibrate, i pushed on the mirror section and it moved back and forth in the plastic housing. Purchased a 2006 honda accord coupe on march 15th 2006, was traveling no the highway with no vehicle in the front of me and on march the 17th two days after purchased my sun roof shattered.talked to the dealership, manufacturer and their replywas its not a manufacturer defect therefore its nothing they can do.i had to pay $602.00 at another honda dealership out of town for the sun roof to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2006 honda accord. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise. The contact discovered that the sun roof glass had shattered and left a hole directly in the center of the glass. There were no injuries. 2006 honda accord ex-l front windshield cracking. First incident11-01-06. Replaced by dealer.

Bought 2006 accord sedan in aug 2006. Upon taking car home noticed 'orange peel' like distortion in windshield.took back to dealer. They first claimed there was no problem, finally after much arguing they admitted it was there and replaced it.new windshield is worse. It has wavy pattern in the glass making it difficult to see out of. Went back to dealer, they saw it, they then called in factory rep. He says "they all have it" and refused to take action. Factory line is that all honda's since 1990 have this problem. Told him that's bull since this is the 3rd honda i've bought since 1990 and none of the others have this problem. Neither does any other brand (toyota, volvo) cars that i own have it.

When nearing a stop and trying to make a right turn, it will make a sound... Then keeps going before actually stopping... Increasing risk of hitting car in front. Also when on the highway, car will want to kind of stall out die. Maybe a short circuit or something that is defective.

2006 honda accord software wasnt working . And then i had a recall for my car..
