On friday, april 27, 2018, while driving on a major highway and parkway on three occasions i had a system failure while driving and lost braking ability. I applied the brake pedal & the car didn't slow down.i used the handheld parking brake to stop. When the car was turned off & restarted systems all worked for a few minutes & then failed again.i drove off the highway to safety & parked. On saturday, april 28, 2018, i drove the car to honda service center.service advisor fenix did not believe me but they ended up giving me a loaner car.on monday, april 30, 2018, i received a call from service advisor fenix asking if the service manager could drive my car home because they cannot find any issues with my car or my brakes.i said yes. Service manager experienced the same system failure that i experienced while he was driving home.on may 12, 2018 i picked up my car from honda and was told issue was fixed. On may 17, 2018, at about 6:22 am, i was driving on the cross island parkway in heavy rain when i once again experienced a total system failure resulting in my car not having the ability to stop by applying the brakes.i stopped again by utilizing the parking brake. Honda towing towed the car to the honda dealership where an employee then drove the car to the honda service center and then returned to the dealership in a different car to pick me up and transport me to the service center.i have no confidence in this car and cannot ever see myself driving it or allowing my family to ride in it regardless of who is driving it as it is not safe!!
I purchased this car and noticed the drive and passenger led light bars continue to burn out, even after warranty expires. When taken to the dealership, they will not honor replacements after warranty.replacement costs are~1700.this has been an ongoing issue with honda on these vehicles and should be covered until permanent fix is found.
As i was driving on the highway on the left lane at a speed of 60-65 mph, all the safety systems on the car reported error and i lost the brakes on the car. I was able to move into the right most lane and eventually onto the shoulder of the highway and come to a rolling stop by shifting into neutral. I tried to restart the car to see if the sensors reset, but that didn't happen. I had to get towed home andthen to the honda dealership. After a day the honda service department called me back and suggested that there was some kind of a simulator issue on the car and that part had failed and needs to be replaced. I was lucky that i walked away from this without any accident. However, this has surely impacted me and my wife emotionally. We are not confident with the safety of the car anymore.

While driving 6 warning lights pop up on the dash and the brakes fail.the information center of the dash scrolls through saying "brake system problem", "vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem", "hill start assist problem", "collision mitigation system problem", "road departure mitigation system problem", "adaptive cruise control problem". This has happened while driving on the highway and on suburban roadways at various speeds. The last time it happened i was breaking while approaching a red light and nearly rear ended the person in front of me. A diagnostic was done and the brake simulator and tandem motor were determined to require replacement.
When i reached 42k miles on this vehicle, the dashboard display panel went blank while driving rendering most of the safety features lost including the reverse camera, turn camera, bluetooth functions, gas consumption indications, radio and clock functions etc.. When i contacted american honda headquarters i was told that i need to take the car to a service facility and as i have passed 36k mileage i am responsible for costs associated with the repair. I tried to convey them that the fault has to be an inherent malfunctioning or corruption of the honda's electronic system components rather than extraneous wear that can be attributed to my use of this vehicle. No, they won't accept responsibility. I got the 'center audio display', replaced at a cost of $446.37 plus $70.61 for the diagnosis.
The contact owns a 2017 honda accord hybrid. While operating the vehicle, the "braking system failure" message was displayed and the vehicle would not immediately stop when pressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to white plains honda (16 bank st, white plains, ny) where it was diagnosed that the tandem motor cylinder was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Braking mitigation system sensor fails when switching lane on the high way brakes applied by itself and vehicle comes to a complete stop with a loss of power and heavy steering and could lead to crash by another vehicle rear end me lane departue mitigation radar camera fails issue false alarm while you are staying in your lane and steering becomes heavy both are on going issues may 13 2017 contacted honda dealrship many times and they say vehicle sensor has problem software for safety component has a problem sensor and camera need calibration vehicle as designed within software limitation oh vehicle been in an accident oh warranty not covering your insurance should pay for calibration it is covered under warrany will replace but they dont

The contact owns a 2017 honda accord hybrid. While driving approximately 65 mph, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle even with the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that all the instrument panel indicators illuminated, including the brake indicator. The contact managed to shut off, restart, and move the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to herb chambers honda of westborough (774-760-0500, located at 350 turnpike road, rte 9, westborough, ma 01581) where it was diagnosed that the brake simulator needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000. The vin was unknown.
I was driving down a road near a construction site, i slowed down because the care in front of me made a quick right hand turn. The brake light sensor went off and it self braked. The car in front had already made the right hand turn when the car self braked to a full stop. I couldn't get it to stop. The guy behind me almost hit me, but i couldn't get the car to stop breaking and go so the guy behind me would't hit me. Luckily i didn't get hit. But the self breaking system is making me nervous. I wanted to add that it had been raining previously in the day and it was sort of over cast. The care was in motion on a city street going straight.

Experienced brake failure on april 21, 2019 while driving on the highway.traffic was slowing down on the highway due to construction and i went to apply the brake, but the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and several warning lights flashed on the dashboard.i managed to get off on an exit ramp and slowed the car down by turning the car off and using the parking brake.i managed to pull into a nearby parking lot and waited for a tow truck to take me and the car to the dealership.on april 22, 2019 the dealership stated that the problem was due to the brake pedal simulator.this part had to be order which took 7 days for the repair to occur.i picked up the car on april 30, 2019 and drove back to work using the highway (detroit to lansing).upon exiting the ramp to work, the brakes failed again. Several warning flashed on the dashboard that i have attached to this complaint: brake system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem and adaptive cruise control problem.i was not using cruise control when i was driving back to work.the car was towed again back to the dealership the within hours that i picked it up.the dealership is now claiming that the tandem motor angle cylinder will need to be replace and i will have to pay another $100.00 (deductible) to fix the problem.
Automatic braking system brought the car to full stop as i was accelerating when a light changed from red to green.there was no risk of hitting anything in front of the car.speed was about 10-15 mph when the car put on the brakes.i was almost rear-ended by the car behind me.the car would not give control to the accelerator for several seconds.my foot was off the brake.in addition, the automatic braking system often gives false positives such as when driving at normal speed (30-50 mph) on a 2-lane road (one lane each direction, yellow solid lines separating the traffic) and the road curves and an on-coming vehicle is correctly and safely in their own lane.
There have been three instances of total brake failure.initial instance occured on vehicle startup, a number of errors were given including "aadaptive cruise conrtol problem","collission mitigation system problem","road departure mitigation system problem" and "brake system problem".when i put the car in drive it immediately began moving forward.car was towed to dealer where honda blamed the issue on the undercaoting causing components to overheat.this was october 2018 in philadelphia.replaced brake system and removed undercoat on affected areas.second instance occured in february 2019 it had stopped raining but road was still wet and had puddles.driving downtown, at a yellow light brakes completely failed, i ran the light and was able to stop with emergency brake.car was giving the same set of errors.this time restarting the car made errors go away.brought to the dealer, they said they did a software update but could not replicate the problem so did nothing else.third instance was february 2nd, while driving about 30-40 mph, again either after rain had stopped or still had a slight drizzle.this time i saw the errors while driving before i needed to break and recognized the issue.managed to use emergency brake to pull over.again restarting the car cleared the issue, i have not brought back to the dealer yet.
While slowing down to make a turn, warnings started popping up on the driver display listing numerous failures and the brake system failed. (there were about half a dozen errors but i didn't catch them all ... "adaptive cruise control problem', 'brake system problem", "vehicle stability assist problem", "collision mitigation system problem", "road departure mitigation system problem", etc. This happened 3 times over the next 15 minutes as we tried to make our way home. Luckily we were on local roads at lower speeds'less than 40.the first time it happened my husband was breaking while approaching a red light at about 5-10 mph but we barely stopped in time. There was a very minimal stopping power. We turned into a parking lot and called honda. The rep said 'yes that was a random problem and to turn the car off and restart. The problem will be fixed.' however it happened 2 more times on that outing. I'm afraid to drive the car and i use it often to transport my grandkids.

The contact owns a 2017 honda accord hybrid. While driving approximately 30 mph, the power steering seized without warning. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, but was unable to restore the power steering. The vehicle was towed to martin main line honda (123 e. Lancaster ave, ardmore, pa 19003) where it was diagnosed with a power pump failure that needed replacement. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 400.
Took car in for alignment, the left rear camber is out of specification @ -2.2 degrees.the specification is -1.0 to -2.0.was advised the manufacturer does not specify a rear camber adjustment method. Was advised an aftermarket kit was available to correct camberwhich honda will not honor under warrantee.excessive camber will lead to premature tire wear issues.

The passenger side windshield wiper keeps falling out.also, every time when i use the wipers only have the passenger side window is cleaned prior to the wiper falling out of the holder.if i am in town and notice the wiper i will get out at a stop light to fix it but most of the time i am driving at 65 or more when the wiper falls out of the holder. This happens every week sometimes multiple times a day.
Tire pressure monitor system light stays lit without any valid condition to cause it.dealer has reset it twice, but light relights within 20 minutes of drive time.constant indication masked an actual tire failure which could have led to a serious accident. Tire dealer replaced ruined tire, rechecked all tire pressures and reset alarm, but again it re-lit within 20 minutes of driving time.
