Total time of car acceleration incident described here - 4 to 5 seconds.impact speed estimated between 30 and 50 mph.
The door locks do not lock and unlock with the remote or buttons in the car. The back doors have to be unlock manually. The back hatch will only unlock every so often. We took the car to team-honda baton rouge la dealership in september 2016 for repair and they now will not work again.
The traction control devise is malfunctioning...
I purchased this car in june 2021 for my grandson as high school graduation gift and entrance in college. Driving at a speed of 55 the car tremble uncontrollably and cuts off. I was told that oil leak into the catalytic converters. I had to replace catalytic converters, clean piston, constantly changing spark plugs car misfires, had to replace air conditioner and most of the electrical. What is next. Honda settled a lawsuit march 2014 which this car was apart of it. I wish i wouldā€™ve know before i purchased this car. That class action lawsuit needs to be reopened.
The engine light came on. I took the car to penske honda on may 17th 2017. I was told vcm2 misfire -fouled plugs, software update and replace rear rocker arm oil pressure switch. On march 26, 2018 the front rocker arm oil pressure switch was diagnosed as faulty as the engine light came on as i returned to the dealership. Two days later i returned to the dealership when the engine light came on again the same day i picked the car up on march 30th 2018. I will return again on monday april 1 for the fouth time for the same issue. Each time the engine light came on while driving.
Excessive oil consumption observed with honda crosstour 2010. Since the car was purchased new, the car consumed 1 quart of 0w20 engine oil per 2500 miles. This is a safety issue, since not all drivers pay close attention to engine oil level. Driving with insufficient engine oil level could cause potential engine failure while driving. I have contacted american honda motor co. And log a case# to arrange a formal oil consumption test.
Was told the car is experiencing excessive oil consumption and replaced the spark plugs for the second time in less than a year.
Engine cut out at highway speed on freeway. Would only restart after coming to a stop and waiting a few minutes then retrying. This has happened previously after which dealer changed a sensor, this time dealer said this was a known software problem. Surely there should be a recall loosing all power on the freeway could be deadly.
I noticed that between oil changes the engine light would come on. I would add oil on a regular basic. A few months ago the wrench light came on with the engine light. I added oil and had the light reset. Yesterday my wife called and said the engine was running really rough. When she got home i added oil but a few seconds after running it began to raise and lower the idle. It stayed high. I pulled the codes on an obd and it said misfire of spark plugs. I changed the spark plugs with no change. My neighbor pulled the codes again and found p3400, p3497 and p303. There is a service bulletin that says this issue is a computer issue and a oil pressure monitor problem covered by honda. This issue was stationary and while moving at all speeds.
Engine type 3.5 i vtec v6 - the engine light and traction control light came on. At the time i did not know that there was a class action suite on this problem and other honda vehicle's with this engine. I drove the rest of the way to work and called my dealer. I had it towed to a honda dealer near my work they told me that a had a engine miss fire on cylinder number one, they replaced the spark plug and did a engine software update. If this would happen again they would rebuild the upper end of the motor at there cost. They gave me a 8 year extension warranty until 2018, unlimited miles for this problem only. I was told by the mechanic that this fix works on the majority of the cars, but didn't feel that this one would be one that it works on... Since it consumed two quarts of oil. I have driven this car for 3,500+ miles since the repair and it is running great. Does anyone know the % of this fix working.
Bank 1 pressure switch /bank 2 pressure code p3400 /p3497 vps stuckoff both banks. Check engine come on and eco will not work.
Oil consumption is more than it should be. I have to add oil between changes and i always get a misfire because my engine is trash
The contact owns a 2010 honda accord crosstour. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the check engine warning light was illuminated. There was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing to re-ring cylinder 1-3 which was associated with manufacturer tsb 13-079. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,194.
My car jerks from the vcm module on the car usually when going around 40 mph especially when entering a turn( i drive mostly on a 2 lane highway) which makes me feel unsafe because it happens when it shuts down cylinders and jerks the car hard sometimes and gives a significant loss of torque. I recently purchased a honda accord crosstour 2010 with 72k miles on their 3.5l v6 engine and was not informed about honda being sued for their vcm module that shuts down cylinders.it ruins piston rings, breaks engine mounts, misfiring, burning oil, and last but not least bent piston rods all so you can get 1 more mile per gallon. I would like for honda to do a recall to fix engines that are damaged and to finally give their buyers an option to turn the vcm off which is known to prevent those problems and make the car not jerk.i got 75k miles now and jerking has gotten worse to where i'm trying to find ways to turn it off. Thank you for your time!
The vehicle will use about a quart of oil every 1500 miles. The number 3 cylinder plug will become fouled and case the engine to run rough and engine light flashes. This is under honda tsb 11-033
Floorboard/vibration shake at 22mph and 72mph.brake pulsation - dealer turned rotors, replaced rotors, and still have brake pulsation. We have had numerous problems with our honda crosstour - normal acceleration at 22mph gas pedal, brake, floorboards shake.when cruising at 72mph or going down slight decline entire car shakes.brakes were pulsating at 4896 miles, 10k miles, 18k miles, and still are not correct at 20k miles. What dealer has done so far - jul 2011 - turned rotors, road force balanced tires/wheels - no improvements with vibration at 22 and 72 mph -dealer wanted to wait for donor parts to replace drive shaft assembly (we waited 4 months) - honda tsb drive shaft assembly29 oct 2011 - complained about vibration at 22 and 72mph again, and brake pulsation, dealer replace front axles - no improvements - and replaced front rotors. 18 jul 2012 - complained about vibration at 22 and 72 mph, and brake pulsation again - dealer replaced rotors - dealer balanced tires and wheels again.august/september 2012 - honda regional rep came in - road force balance tires again -swapped out front tires and rims, shutdown vcm, swapped out computerno improvements -vibration/shudder still present at 22mph and 72mph- brakes still pulsating 24 sept 2012 - national honda rep came in checked valve tolerances - cylinder 5 valves tight causing misfires - didn't improve vibration/shudderreplaced axles again, replaced torque converterengine vibration is better at 22mph but worse at 72 mph - cruising and much worse going down declines.brakes are still not correct.our car / engine has been shaking severely for a long time and we are worried about our safety - that something may come loose and cause us to lose control of the vehicle getting hurt or hurting someone else.honda has not been posting these tsb's publicly.
I bought a honda on quite a few referrals because they were supposed to be solid cars that last. I had actually been having issues with the engine, in one form or another, a couple years after i bought it. I would take it in and it would be fixed (?). Until a few months ago when the engine and traction lights would go on for a few days then off, then back on, then of again. The final time they went on they were blinking and my car was acting very sluggish, it was not getting a lot of power so i took it in to a honda dealer for a diagnostic. After picking my self up off of the floor from the estimate that they gave me, i took their print out to another repair center, that rhymes with, hirestone, because they had taken care of a few things in the past and had great customer service and comparable pricing. One week later, my engine and traction light came back on and i flipped out! i took it back to 'hirestone" and they took it in and a few hours later, here i am reading about the lawsuit with honda over the excessive oil usage deal. Now i will be super inconvenienced to find a way to take my car in to a dealer for a couple hours for my 3rd oil change in about 3-4 weeks so they can monitor the usage and determine if i qualify to have the piston rings replaced, a 1-2 day job. Also come to find out that if it is the lawsuit issue, american honda does not offer a rental car for me while they are fixing "their" faulty issue. I didn't ask for this headache, they knew about it a few years ago. They should pay for everything!!urggggggg!!!!
The check engine light comes on,and flashes.generating a p0303 misfire code.the spark plug on that particular cylinder is oil fouled, causing the misfire.the first time this happened was in the middle of north dakota driving at highway speeds on the interstate last winter.the spark plugs were changed by me on the side of the road. Cylinder three spark plug was very heavily oil fouled.after replacement of the spark plugs, the misfire did not continue at that point, check engine light went out.no further action was taken.that happened on november 30th 2016.the most recent event happened april 17th.the car was running rough again upon startup, and check engine light flashing.brought the car to my mechanic who inspected, and found code p0303 cylinder misfire. #3 plug very saturated with oil, and fouled. Please see attachment for further information.
We bought a 2010 honda accord crosstour for our daughter.six months after buying it. We took it for an oil change and was told the car had no oil. The mechanic told me to keep an eye on this problem. I keep the oil changed on time typically before 3,000 miles. About four more months go by and my daughter calls saying she's aside the road broke down. Her car was smoking and shaking. Her car was shaking. The mechanic that works on our vehicles was close by and ran to check on her. He checked and said it had no oil. He added oil got car to shop. He told us that it was bone dry and pistons were back firing.he said a car with this low mileage shouldn't back fire pistons and that oil doesn't disappear from the vehicle. Knowing this wasn't the first time the car ran out of oil.he looked online to see if this was a problem with honda cars.he found that this was a problem and there were lawsuits against honda for the same make and model of my car.he suggested we take it to the honda dealership so they could help with any recalls. That was such a waste of time. Three trips taking off work school dance running back and fourth 20mins both ways to bryan honda fayetteville. First time was told no problem. They changed oil and told me to come back in 1000 miles. Second time was told to much oil was in that may be problem. Hmm didn't they change the oil?third time changed spark plugs misfire. Fourth time my favorite, oil consumption test was fine, car was a quart low on oil, added oil..i was told by dealership and honda corp that it was normal for oil to be low. It's normal to add oil in between oil changes😂wow good one honda.
While driving my 2010 honda accord crosstour on the freeway the engine light started flashing, i immediately took my car to honda of stockton. They notified me that my car is burning oil excessively. Bank 1 pressure switch /bank 2 pressure code p3400 /p3497 vps stuck off both banks. Check engine come on and eco will not work they charged me $150.00. Honda tested the vehicle and has evidence of the excessive oil consumption. I researched this due to them saying to fix this issue it would cost me $8000 and found there is an extended warranty add for this problem but the dealership says my car does not qualify. The extended warranty recall states that 2010 honda accord's qualify, but they will not make repairs for excessive oil consumption which has caused my catalytic converters to fail as well as my spark plugs and piston rings. I have researched and advised the mechanic this is called the vtc acuator and seems to be common in 2008 to 2011 honda accord's.the dealer instructed me not to drive my car it could catch fire and blow up and to contact corporate which is my next step.
Check engine light came on while driving, cylinder was misfiring. Replaced spark plug. This has happened twice about a little over a year apart in different cylinders.
Driver entered parking garage, stopped, received parking ticket, arm raised on parking entrance machine, driver removed foot from brake, car began to accelerate.speed continuously increased.driver pressed brakes twice - no response from brakes.driver swerved right to avoid car on left.car jumped 5 inch curve, knocked over free standing metal sign.car continued to accelerate.driver saw wall at left and aimed car at wall, intentionally.driver believed that crashing car was the only way to stop the car.driver aimed at and hit wall "head on".air bags deployed.car judged total loss.driver suffered damaged right knee (broken tibia plateau, torn cartilage, damaged lower femur), broken nose, broken eye socket..passenger suffered broken left hand and bruised ribs.emergency medial team took driver/passengers to hospital; released after 11 hours. Total time of car acceleration incident described here - 4 to 5 seconds.impact speed estimated between 30 and 50 mph.
Excess oil consumption.first made aware by oil service technician when the car was just under 5 years old.technician said they notice excess consumption at the previous change, but thought it was a fluke.since then, honda has had me recording mileage and oil levels.after nearly 8,000 miles i had enough evidence for them to do a software update....which did not fix the problem.one thousand miles after the most recent oil change, i had to add 1/2 quart.now the local honda repair shop says they are trying to convince honda to do a good-will fix.really?how is this good will when this is a known engineering design issue?
Two weeks ago, i was driving at approximately 55 mph, the car felt as if it were switching gears sluggishly.then i noticed the engine light had come on. I took the vehicle to o'reilly's to investigate the engine light which was caused by a p3400 code/bank 1. I researched the code and purchased 2 quarts of the 0w20 synthetic oil. The light went out after driving approximately 10 miles. I then made an appointment for an oil change, however the dealership was closed for the memorial day holiday and rescheduled for tomorrow (3 days later). The light has since come back on; i again checked the oil and had to add 2 quarts of 0w20 synthetic oil. Once again, the car is sluggish and has a new symptom of knocking when accelerating. I will have it towed in the morning for the scheduled oil change to ensure nothing is damaged. I have done additional research and found that i had received notification from honda last year in reference to a class action settlement for service bulletin (#11-033) that addressed excessive oil consumption from a "systematic design defect that enables oil to enter into the engine's combustion chamber. This leads to premature spark plug degradation and engine malfunction." hopefully, the dealership will repair the defect once and for all.

Vehicle shaking and vibrating while acclerating, turning and driving at controlled speed. 30-65mph. Honda dealer states "source to be a bad axel " (sic). Also states parts supply problem with "national back order, no eta." this seems to be a serious safety issue with the vehicle and a recall is needed given the potential for loss of control.please see attached invoice.

The vehicle vibrates, and shakes upon acceleration. Honda is aware of the drive axle issues with this auto. In fact they tell me the car needs drive axles, but can't repair as the drive axles are on indefinite backorder, and if they could get the axles the repair would be in excess of $1000.00.
Right front axle has been on indefinite back order with no eta.vehicle is unsafe to drive and there are no after-market replacements available.vehicle rattles and shakes upon acceleration and braking.
Red oil pressure lights triggering intermittently while in motion on both highway and city. Esp uphill motion.honda not able to id a "code" for cause in system sent me on my way. Has happened 12 times since then in 24h. 2010 accord crosstour 4wd
Vehicle shutters between 20 and 25 mile per hour on acceleration. Honda forum reports that issue is the axles. The shutter still remains after axles were replaced. Reports of factory defective in torque converter causing transmission damage/failure. Vehicle currently at 77k miles. The issue has been on going for well over a year. I do not have the funds to replace multiple parts until the issue is resolved as a guessing game.
At approximately 100,000 miles, after it is warmed up, the transmission starts to thump/clunk when it downshifts from 3rd to 2nd gear when slowing and approaching a stop on urban streets.
Oil consumption is more than it should be. I have to add oil between changes and i always get a misfire because my engine is trash
My car jerks from the vcm module on the car usually when going around 40 mph especially when entering a turn( i drive mostly on a 2 lane highway) which makes me feel unsafe because it happens when it shuts down cylinders and jerks the car hard sometimes and gives a significant loss of torque. Vehicle exhibits a whining noise at 50 55 mph. It sounds like a gear noise from the transmission or rear axle.my vehicle has 7000 miles on it now and the noise has been always there since the vehicle was new.the problem is getting worse and i am concerned the noise exhibits a potential failure resulting in a vehicle accident.
Car steering wheel jerks and shakes when braking at 65 mph due tobrake rotors went bad at 23000 miles dealer resurfaced the rotors for free as one time goodwill jester problem came back after 3000 miles.it is a re-occurring problem where consumer has to replace rotors every few thousand miles.

Rotors went bad at 40k miles.
My car sped up while i was driving and i could not stop it.
Abs/ airbag system staying on and it appears to be affecting charging system issues and/or alternator!diagnostic test show abs & charging system issues.my car is now inoperable!!
The traction control devise is malfunctioning...
Applied brakes on freeway at 70 mph to exit ramp, steering wheel started to vibrate . My 2010 honda crosstour has approx. 16000 miles.vehicle is unstable when this occurs.
My new 2010 honda accord crosstour has the same brake problem as the recalled 2007 odyssey. After stopping if you release the brake pedal and than lightly apply pressure to stop the car from rolling forward the pedal becomes spongy and starts to go down towards the floor. It goes down about 2 inches lower than a first application. I have had this reported to the dealer 3 times and they say their is no currant fix. Problem has continued since it was brand new. I traded my 07 odyssey in for this same problem.

On sunday, november 28, 2010, upon opening the trunk, the rear cargo area cover dropped down and hit my forehead leaving a large bruised lump.today is tuesday, november 30, 2010 and i still have pain and headaches.the cover was completely unhooked with nothing holding it safely in place.there is no locking mechanism for the rear cargo area cover.it appears that the side hooks became unhooked (pressure fit only) and the "mounting pins' are as the fletcher honda service manager said, only for guidance and alignment.not to provide support or keep the rear cargo area cover in place.there is nothing to prevent the rear area cargo cover to not fall out and down.and when explaining to fletcher honda's service manager on monday, november 29, 2010 the problem and unhooking only one side hook, the cover fell down on that side first, then the other side hook unhooked and the entire cover rell down.the service manager says he has no ability to change designs, however, he said he will pass this information onto his honda rep.i was given a 1-800 number to call.today, november 30, i called and this information is to be given to a honda case manager within 1-2 business days.also - previous complaint was filed -- 10368291.i provided the wrong vin as i was looking at our buick's insurance card, not the honda crosstour.correct vin is supplied with this revised complaint.
I was driving on the highway and the moonroof combusted.

Once a year while driving the front end of the car starts making a loud thumping noise. It almost sounds like the engine is thumping against the front hood. The car will then completely break down. When trying to start the car again it will not start, but the lights and radio will turn on. When i took my car to honda the advisor first advised the piston rings in theengine needed to be replace, but i guess since the car service manager did not want to replace it he had the team replace my stark plugs.
Had a problem with vehicle speed control when getting off free way on off ramp , tryed to stop using brake butt car was sill accelerating . Had to apply brakes very hard to slow car down got close to end of ramp had to put car in neurtal and then saw the tack jump up 6000 rpm and back down to 700 rpm also at same time white smoke was coming out all sides of car. Smoke could have been from brakes or high rpms on eng. Cruise control was off. Took car to dealer they found no problem.
