The contact owns a 2008 (na) harley davidson night rod vrscdx.the contact has been experiencing balancing failure with the vehicle.the vehicle would constantly lean to the right.the dealer stated that the engine had twisted and the exhaust pipe and panel that hold the engine ran down on top of the frame, causing the vehicle to become imbalanced.in addition, the fuel gauge and speedometer displayed inaccurate readings.the contact was pulled over for driving 100 mph when the gauge only read 70 mph.the vehicle is liquid cooled with a radiator.on two occasions, the bolts that support the radiator have fallen out, which could be potentially hazardous and cause the engine to fail.all of the failures occurred within one month of purchasing the brand new vehicle.the dealer could not find any failure with the fuel gauge and the speedometer.after numerous visits, the dealer was able to determine the failure with the engine and they decided to replace the entire fuel gauge.the vin was unknown.thefailure mileage was 1,300 and current mileage was 1,750.
I own a 2007 harley davidson vrscdx.the rear brake switch caught on fire on 8/14/10.this switch is located directly in front of and next to the plastic fuel tank under the seat.this has happened to numerous vrod models of various years and information can be found on 1130cc.com.various people have contacted harley davidson with no response.
I have a 2007 vrod vrcdx my fuel gauge always fails to read accurate fuel load, while riding it goes from full or half tank to empty. Another problem i have that harley won't fix is my brake and clutch reservoirs are leaking and causing paint to come off. You pay so much for these bikes and harley still refuses to fix their problems. I just want them to fix my problems for free, to bad alamo harley davidson will not fix it even though i bought bike there.
2007 harley vrscdx. The rear brakes went out while riding. Pulled off the side of the road to inspect why. Brake fluid was leaking from the rear brake switch. The wires on the rear brake switch were severely melted and brake fluid was leaking. My bike is 100% stock unmodified in any way with only 4253 miles. I babied the motorcycle home without rear brakes.

"event leading to failure": normal riding. "the failure" the fuel gauge on my 2007 harley davidson vrscdx doesn't work any of the time . It is very frustrating to spend so much money on a vehicle & have things not work as there supposed to. I have contacted my local hd dealer & have been told no known "fix" has been sent out from the motor co.that is just outrageous to think that harley davidson wont stand behind there product when they charge so much for them . Please help !! [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Fuel gauge inop causing vehicle to stall. Known problem with hd.
I have a 2007 harley vrsc-dx motorcycle.the fuel gauge has an intermittent problem where at various fuel levels it will drop to "empty" and the fuel light will come on.it began before the warranty was void but because it was intermittent the dealer said they couldn't fix it and to bring it back when the problem is occurring.i have never been near the dealer when the problem occurs and have not been able to force it to happen.
The fuel gauge shows fuel when empty. This happens constantly and can be hazards on busy highways and bridges.i own a 2007 harley davidson night rod special and my understanding is that harley davidson has been aware of the problem for some time but has done nothing to fix the problem.
I have a 2007 harley vrscdx motorcycle. The fuel gauge has an intermittent problem where at various fuel levels it will drop to "empty or full". It began before the warranty was void but because it was intermittent the dealer said they couldn't fix it and to bring it back when the problem is occurring. I have never been near the dealer when the problem occurs and have not been able to force it to happen. It has twice provided wrong readings that resulted in being stranded on a highway in traffic. The fuel gauge or sending unit is not reliable at all. Being on a busy highway on a motorcycle out of gas in the carpool lane is not a safe place to be...
The problem is that the fuel gauge does not work. Has been replaced once and stopped working again since then.
Gas gauge works sometimes and not others (random). The clutch and brake fluid reservoirs are leaking brake fluid.
Intermittent fuel gauge readings. Happened during warranty, not repaired by harley davidson. Very dangerous when it tells youhave half a tank and the engine shuts down at high speeds.
Fuel gauge reads full then seems to stick at halfway then you are mislead to believe you have half a tank when you do not. Then low fuel light comes on and needle drops to empty.

While attending a motorcycle experienced rider's course i noticed smoke originating from underneath the motorcycle.i pulled the motorcycle off the course and noticed there was no rear brake pressure.further inspection revealed the rear brake light switch burned/melted causing a severe brake fluid leak.
While riding my 2007 harley davidson v-rod nightrod special i lost control of rear brake pressure and the brake light. I have had to replace brake switch near the exhaust and just before the gas tank and bleed the brake system twice in the past 4 months.
