2008 harley-davidson classic motorcycle.consumer writes in regards to motor compensator issues and throttle completely shuts down without warning.the consumer stated he experienced a problem with the motor compensator which would not let the started engage smoothly, if at all and caused an unacceptable loud scrapping noise especially when the motor was warm.also, the throttle shut down to idle and would become unresponsive while riding without any indication something was wrong. The consumer stated it appeared the fix was to replace the ecm-efi connector pins and/or throttle roll sensor. However, there was no guarantee it would eliminate the shut down condition.the vin the consumer supplied, was invalid.

Consumer received recall notice regarding the revtech 6 speed transmission and revtech 6 speed gearsets, consumer purchased his transmission from ebay on 23-jul-2001 with 4300 miles on it, consumer is unable to get recall repairs.
Consumer is requesting a refund for a defective 4-6 shift clutch on a revtech 6-speed motorcycle transmission, there was a recall on the componet, however consumer is still not satisfied with the repair for the second time.

I am writing as to a safety concern dealing with all of harley davidson's touring bikes. After contacting hd about my concerns i realized i would have to talk to someone who cared. Theyhave a major problem with the swingarms on these motorcycles that causes dangerous oscillations that cause the bike to lose control at speeds from 60mph to about 70 mph. The bikes tend to fish tail that causes the riders to lose control or make them very scared to ride them. Hd has no entity to make them as a corporation to fix or address this issue. They know theproblem exist but, claim it is the consumers problem and not theirs. For the most part hd corporate denies the problem at all. The internet is inundated by riders complaining about theproblem but, hd refuses to admit this. I believe it is the root cause of many riders getting killed and or hurt especially going into curves on these machines. Hd even sells a swingarm stabilizer for about $400 because they know that their machines are faulty. I personally experienced this problem at 70mph and it took me almost 10 seconds to regain control of the bike. After taking the swingarm apart i found the design extremely inefficient for the weight of the bike and a passenger in particular. They have no system of checks and balances to make them responsible as do major auto manufacturers. This not only affects this motorcycle but all of hd's touring bikes of all dates of manufacture.
Consumer has had 6 tires (dunlop d402 21 inch tires) fail in the last 6 months, 4 tires were covered under warrenty however harley davidson will no longer replace these tires under warrenty.nlm

The wheel assembly was corroded, the consumer requested they be replaced at no charge.
Front wheel bearing on right side failed while riding motorcycle on highway at 70 mph. Rider and passenger on at time of incident.
