The contact owns a 2003 gulf stream friendship quattro. While the contact's wife was driving 5 mph, she heard an abnormal noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The driver was able to park on the side of the road. While exiting the motor home, the contact noticed that the hitch detached from the train of the motor home and was in the middle of the road. The vehicle was able to be driven to its destination, but the abnormal noises continued. The motor home was towed to trailercraft inc (located at 222 w 92nd ave, anchorage, ak 99515, (907) 563-3238) where it was diagnosed that the hitches needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 06e033000 (trailer hitches). The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 64,000. *dt
