The contact owns a 2007 gulf stream conquest. The contact heard a pressure release noise and smelled a strong ammonia odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an rv independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was a yellowish stain on the exterior service door. The mechanic removed the refrigerator to inspect the original cooling unit and noticed an electrical burn spot on the cooling unit below the cooling fans. The 110 bolt wires connected to the cooling unit melted the installation from the wire and caused a direct short that burned a hole. The failure allowed the fuel to escape and leak down the cooling unit onto the service access door. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 49,394.
