Defective dashboards installed by gm create a safety hazard.cracks occurred on drivers side (hump above steering wheel) and cracks in dash on both sides of airbag.if airbag deploys cracked pieces of dash could cause harm to driver and passengers in vehicle.gm is aware of this well known problem/defect and it is very widespread with thousands or more gm customers having the same issue yet gm refuses to replace defective dash for customers which is ultimately putting gm customers and their passengers in danger.

Takata recall dealer says recall products nt issued after my 2nd noticein 2016 and 2017

The dash is cracked near the airbag and i am concerned for the safety of my passengers if an accident were to occur.

Takata recallgm sent out the recall and now my suv is throwing a error code of service airbag with the airbag light on. They don't want to take responsibility for this code. They want us to spend our money to find out that it's their recall issue. In the recall it states "takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long term exposure in hot and humid regions. If the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries." this is a huge concern to my family of 5. Gm needs to take complete responsibility for their recall and get it fixed! we asked the gm representative if we get into an accident and the airbag fails to work properly then will gm be responsible? he beat around the bush about it. He then said well try not to get into an accident right now. That is admitting to me that it's unsafe. He wouldn't answer any of our questions. He couldn't tell us when our vehicle could be fixed. He just kept telling us that we needed to spend our money and take it to our dealer to have it checked. We know what the problem is. It sounds to me like they're just trying to take our money.

Takata recall can not get a gm dealer in the dayton ohio region to replace my airbag recalled since may 2016.have called dealers a few times. Last called august 6th 2019 and they still can not get it fixed.

My dash cracked and separated right where the dash meets the airbag. My concern isabout the safety during a collision or airbag deployment from sharp plastic exposed due to the cracks in the dash cutting the airbag or shards of plastic becoming projectiles potentially causing injury to occupants. I can provide pictures if needed.

Traveling at night, at 65 miles an hour in a 2007 yukon sle2 4 dr wagon, i hit asteer (approximately 880lbs).upon impact, the bottom of my power driver's seat moved forward and the back of the seat tilted forward, causing me to hit the steering wheel.i had to move the seat back to get out of the vehicle. The airbags did not deploy.i reported the incident to the dealer, and my insurance agent both verbally and in writing.the vehicle had over $11,000.00 worth of damage, but the repair center stated they were unable to find any damage to the seat.i traded the vehicle in, as i did not feel safe driving it with the seat not being replaced or repaired. The vehicle is now for sale again, and i am fearful that someone else will be in a wreck and the seat will malfunction again.

Cracked dash above instrument cluster and passenger airbag could potentially injure by airbag deploying and sending plastic shrapnel everywhere.

Last year i reported airbag light coming on while driving, and iread on gmc site as to what could happen if an accident should happen, they did inform me that once they received parts at the dealership they would contact me to repair, now they indicate they are not sure about the problem. My concern is someone in my car and an accident and the injury this could cause someone. I have called several times and i feel that i am being mislead on fixing the problem.

My vehicle has a recall on the airbags. My dealership (bradshaw automotive group, greer, sc) tells me that gm will send the replacement bags to them with the vin # of the vehicle that the air bags are to go in.i also know the older models, like mine, are where the deaths are happening.i use my car for work and sometimes every seat is needed.even thought my vehicle is a 2007, it is in excellent shape and should have another 100,000 miles to go.i learned that takata has filed bankruptcy in japan and the us.my vehicle comes from an american company, next japan.gm will have to replace the airbags with or without takata, why wait on more deaths.

Takata recall - i am now receiving warning lights to "service my airbag"on my vehicles monitoring system. I have contacted the dealership as well as gm and they still have no fix for this issue. According to a petition they filed with your organization, they were to have a fix adopted by august 2017. It is now august 2019 and they have yet to supply a fix for this issue!! thank god i have not been in an accident where the airbag has deployed, neither do i care to wait until i have an accident.according to the representative at gm, "they can see that it is still safe to drive your vehicle".they have not inspected my vehicle, have no solutions as to replacing airbags that have been deemed faulty years ago, so how can they possibly say that my vehicle is safe?!?! i want to speak to someone about this issue and determine what recourse i have. I can be reached at [xxx]thank you,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall

Takata recall : i have been patient with this recall but now to is time to do something about this problem . We need to have these air bags replaced so we and my kids and my grandkids can travel safeyly on the roads of this country . Too long has this safety problem gone unaddressed while we wait for results but there has been none . What is it going to take more deaths and injuries to our loved ones before our safety organizationsstep up and do their job as they were hired to do . As we see it you and everyone involved have been negilgentin resolving this matter . This matter has put money ahead of lives . Why does a country like ours let their people go out every day in these unsafe vehicles and do nothing about it . It is time to fix this now !!!!!the nhtsaresponsible forresolving thisbecause that is your job the safety of people.

It appears as though there have been several people affected by cracked dashboard on gms. The major concern is that this design flaw will obstruct the airbags.my car is no different.i'm have two cracks in my dash similar to the multitude of others complaining about the same thing.the dash is continuous and extremely expensive for consumers to eat the cost of this design flaw.

The plastic dash board has been cracking over the years. It is now breaking into jagged pieces that are free to fly around the passenger cabin. Cracked pieces around the air bag pose a potential problem to the eyes and face of passengers in the event of a crash. Electrical wires are also exposed to uv light causing premature failure. This vehicle has been meticulously cared for with no other major failures to speak of.i believe that the potentially dangerous dash situation has been caused by substandard materials used in manufacturing.

I have the inevitable cracked gmt900 dashboard by the airbag cover. There are 2 cracks in the dash where the airbag cover is held in place as well as another crack above the steering wheel hump. I've contacted gm regarding this and they have not offered to repair it. There should definitely should be a recall, i don't exactly know how unsafe the cracks are by the airbag cover but essentially every 2007-2013 tahoe, yukon, escalade, suburban, sierra, etc... Has or will have the exact same cracks.

I received a letter over a year ago from gmc, important safety recall.when i contacted the local dealer they said they could not help get this repair done. I waited another year and received a postcard from what looks like to be tk holdings, it directions are to go to this website for arrangements to get your car fixed and when i do that, it says that matters are not resolved between gmc and tk holdings.meanwhile, there is a potentally serious on my vehicle.

Cracks in dash around airbag will cause injury with deployment. Cracks on the dash will cause i just in accident.

Takata recall - no resolution by takata / gm after all these years - no incident thus far, but i prefer not to be takata / gm test subject.

Dashboard cracked on the passenger side at the airbag compartment, concerned that it may cause airbag to malfunction.

Cracked dash by the passenger airbag, i also received a notification of a recall for airbags and a promise to notify when parts are available, i complained to gm and they responded that they will not replace cracked dash , i am a deployed military servicemember and do not have time for corporate greed, let gm know i will never buy any of their products again unless they can prove to me that their cars are safe!

There is a significant crack in the dash connecting the air bag component to the body.the first crack was found back in february and now there are 2 more cracks - one more on the air bag connection and one above the cluster dome.my fear is that if the airbag is to deploy, the sharp edges resulting from the defective dash would result in significant injury even if it is a minor crash. I believe this is a huge safety issue.

(takata recall) since i purchase the gmc yukon i have experience a numerous engine-elec stability control-airbags-every two weeks. I need to add engine oil is a safety risk.

I was sitting stillin traffic when hit in the rear passenger quarter panel by a f150 truck traveling approx 65mph. It hit head on in the rear passenger tire & quarter panel. The tire was knocked off, axle knocked out of the vehicle, frame was damaged, rear air condition was crushed and the vehicle valued by state farm at $27,000 was totaled. The f150 was also totaled. An adult was in the driver seat, infant in 2nd row captain chair driver side, 8 yr old 2nd row captain chair passenger side, 5 yr old was in the 3d row passenger bucket seat at the point of impact. No air bags deployed and on star was not called. I called 911 from my cell phone & all passengers were taken to the hospital. State farm now owns this vehicle but i have pictures. Now my new 2010 yukon has a service air bag system light on. Something is seriously wrong with gm's air bag systems.

Hit the curb, the side airbags deployed un inflated. Which made the seat belts lock, warning light and message that can not be removed from dash. We have rolled the bags back up so that vehicle can be used.

Airbag light is on. Dealer finds r/f impact sensor. Code-b008439. Chevy-gmc-states 3 year 10,000 mile warranty with vehicle has expired .mileage on vehicleis 43,592. Cost will be around $400.00. I find this is a safety issue with a factory part. Chevy-gmc should take care of this issue. It's all about safety! . Thank-you.

There is a crack in my dash on the left corner of the passenger airbag and another one on the left side of the steering wheel hump.these cracks cause the dash to rattle and vibrate a lot while the vehicle is being driven, which is very distracting and they also leave exposed, sharp edges.i am concerned that the crack could compromise the airbags functions.we have only owned this vehicle for 6 months.there were no cracks when we purchased it.the vehicle was in very good condition.after we noticed the cracks on sunday, i started researching how to fix the problem.our local gm dealership was not very helpful.i contacted gm directly and they are not willing to replace the dash.i looked online and found numerous people who have the exact same problem in their 07 yukons and tahoes.it seems to be a trend!i found a site where others have posted their problems and the results they got from gm.several people have been fortunate enough to get the dash replaced for free of charge.i was not that lucky.i feel that this issue needs to be looked into further.i do not feel that i should have to pay to replace a defect that so many vehicles have.please help me!thank you!

Takata inflators recall will not be satisfied by boercherding gmc.they will not be receiving parts to fix problem.

Takata recall - gm has notified me of a recall, gm recall 49151, for defective takata airbags on july 2106, but has taken no action to perform repairs.please advise when gm will make recall 49151 available to me for repairs as the this vehicle is currently being used with defective airbags.

Gm recall # 49152. Nhtsa recall # 16v383 issued in may of 2016.nhtsa gave gm until november 2017 to refute for inconsequentiality yet as of april 21, 2020 there is no stated resolution.why?

Takata recall:over two (2) years have elapsed since i received notification of the airbag recall.gm recall 49151 and still no action has been taken . I've checked with the dealer (reliable gmc in roseville, ca ) at least 6 times in thse 2 years and always get the same story: sorry , "we don't have any parts for any of them yet."they say to file a complaint, so now i am here.everyone had better pray that no injuries or deaths occur as a result of airbag (s) failure or explosions during this indefensible delay in repairing the problem.billions of dollars in lawsuit payouts would result.

Dashboard is cracked at both corners of the passenger air bag as well as over the steering wheel dash (plastic used to make these dashes is the cause of the cracking in 2007-2013 gm and chevrolet trucks). I am extremely concerned that in the event of an accident; either the cracked plastic will cause the air bag to puncture (serious life safety concern) or the pieces of cracked plastic will be projectiles and possible be harmful to all passengers of the vehicle.apparently gm has stated that the plastic used to make these dashboards is the cause of all of these cracks however they will not issue a recall.there are class action suits being looked into but the 2007 - 2009vehicles are out of this group because of the bankruptcy that gm filed.i do not feel that the government bail out and bankruptcy should relieve them of the life safety issue these cracked dashes are causing. There is an entire face book page with 3,323 members that have been unable to get gm to replace their dashes.this is completely unacceptable.someone must have to be killed in an accident before they will issue a recall.

"takata recall"airbags need to be repaired immediately.

The dash on my vehicle has cracked and feel that if the air bag is ever deployed it will send plastic flying into my passengers face or cut the air bag. I have complained to gm about this and do not feel that its a safety issue and i was told that it would be $1,100 the first time i called and after many attempts they are telling me they could do it for $500 now.i still feel that this is gm's issue and it should be recalled for the safety of the consumers.

The dealership even asked if we could have the vehicle inspected in which it failed the first inspection.

Nothing has happened yet but there has been an open recall on this item for years and it still says no remedy available. It hinders my ability to sell or trade in my vehicle as there is an open recall.

Takata recall.recall issued in 2016 but as of 12/04/2017 there is still not a solution.i have an airbag indicator light currently on and am afraid that airbag will not inflate when needed or might inflate when not needed.also, in unrelated issue the entire display on the dash has stopped working as well.i have searched web and i do see indications that there are active recalls for electrical however my dealer says there are not any electrical recalls for my vehicle.

This recall took place 4 years ago and still no resolution is available to get it resolved. Nobody is able to assist me.

Takata airbag inflators received a card but when take to dealer they keep saying waiting on parts been waiting before i got a card when receive alert that had an issue with air bag because i'm registered with recall nhtsa for update.still waiting. Been there on several occasion.

This vehicle was purchased used from a dealer.i was told that gm did not have to replace the defective air bags.these airbags are known to cause harm and or death. I want it taken care of.

No one will get the parts in to repair my airbags and it's been years. Its as if they want me to get rid of my truck but i don't want to. There's also a recall on something smoking and the year starts at 2007 yet my truck isn't included which is very strange some i just had this happen to me on 2/9 and had to have my truck towed and repaired at american petroleum on quarterfield rd.

The suv has a few cracks in the dash board next to the airbag section and instrument cluster. My daughter serverly cut her finger on the cracked dash by accident. Her finger got infected and she couldnt use her hand for week. Also my concern is if an accident occurs and the airbag is deployed this could cause the plastic pieces to cut the airbag. The pieces of the dash could also break off and become airborne and injure me or a passenger. I have researched this issue and there are plenty of complaints (thousands) about the same thing. I feel that gm should put out a warning about this and replace the dash of every vehicle affected.

Takata recall, i received a notice in january of 2016 that the inflators in my 2007 yukon needed to be replaced and that i should contact the local dealer to setup an appointment to have this done. I contacted the dealership in january of 216, december of 2017, june of 2017 and each time was told parts were not available and i would be contacted once they were available. I subsequently received notification that the airbag company was going into bankruptcy. I again contacted the dealer in january of 2018 who advised me that they had no information. This has been going on now for nearly two years with no resolution.

I was issued a recall notice for a safety defect on takata passenger side airbag on 5/27/16.i've contacted gm on multiple occasions and keep getting the answer of parts/resolution not available yet.i'm driving a vehicle with a safety defect for a year and a half now gm unwilling to properly repair.

I have tried to submit my yukon for tanaka recall remedy several times by contacting my local gmc dealership.their service dept continues to tell me that they do not have parts available to modify my vehicle.a few years ago i broadsided a lexus suv which 'ran a traffic light'.my airbags did not deploy, while several of the airbags deployed in the lexus.i felt that my life might have been at risk since the airbags did not deploy, or alternately, at even worst risk if they did explode upon deployment.who is responsible for addressing this issue?the gmc dealer says they are not!i have photos of the accident and a police report stating that the lady was responsible for

The side air bags on the passenger and driver side front and back deployed while driving down the road. The driver side airbag hit my 19 year old son in the side of the face hard enough to cause his ears to ring. There was not a reason for the air bags to go off spontaneously.he had to pull to the side of the road blindly because he didnā€™t know if he had been hit by another vehicle.we have filed a complaint with gmc. This could have caused a serious wreck injuring my son or someone else on the road due to the shock and force of the air bags hitting him and the inability to see after they deployed.yes it is available for inspection.

Takata recall: i was notified in july 2016 about the recall and the repair to my vehicle .i think 7months driving a unsafe vehicle that could possible hurt or kill me or a member of my family is totally unacceptable !you have had enoughtime to remedy this recall . Evidently you and gm have placed greed ahead of public safety !! this matter is more about the cars safety to the occupants and reliabilityto be drivendaily in a safe manner . I think you, nhtsa and gm should put more effort into fixing these unsafe cars !!!!! how many people are or are to be injured by just sitting by and waiting for the takata check to come to cover the repairs that gm should be doing now on their own before someone else gets killed or injured with a part that gm installed into their vehicles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dash busted around the airbag and has also cracked on the driver's side which is probably caused by the airbag. I have had this car for 5 years and still can't get the airbags replaced?????

Dashboard cracking from driver side to air bag on passenger side could deflate air bag if deployed dealer and general motors offered no help and they will repair for $1050.00

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact received nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags) in july of 2016. There are multiple cracks in the dash that came out of no where the vehicle has never been in a collision.this issue has been reported to gm by hundreds of people due to this very common issue, but they have done nothing to correct this problem.my main concern is one of the cracks is by the passenger air bag which could be a hazard during a collision or airbag deployment.with a possible chance of sharp plastic exposed due to the cracks in the dash cutting the airbag or shards of plastic becoming projectiles potentially causing injury to occupants. The other crack in the dash is on the driver side to the left of the instrument cluster i suspect the dash will continue to crack in more spots as time goes on.i feel like this issue needs to be addressed as this is a flaw in either materials or design.

Anrecall was issued in may 2016 by the takata corp for a defective airbag.to date (9/23/2019) nothing has been done!when i research the current status of this recall it states: "remedy not yet available" this is a potential danger to my family so please do something to resolve this matter

Can you give me any insight on when gmc recall 49151, passenger side airbag, will be resolved?i received the notice on august 08, 2016.when i received the notice i inquired with my dealer as to the possible completion date, but he laughed and informed me he had no idea of what i was even talking about.i have a 2007 gmc yukon, on the recall list.i'm afraid to drive the truck since being notified, and will most certainly not ride anyone in the passenger seat.so, i have a vehicle in my garage that has, for the most part, not been used since i received the notice on august 08, 2016.any information you can provide about the pending resolution to this recall will be appreciated.will nobody hold their feet to the fire to resolve this issue?how many more people must die?come on people!

I noticed cracks opening near the front passenger airbag area and on the top of speedometer cluster. Contacted the gm and i was told a series of excuses such as: "your warranty is over", "you bought the car used ( i bought it from a gm dealer under the pre-owned warranty)", or "maybe you used products that crack the plastic!"after a brief research i found out tens of thousands of complaints about gm made vehicles with the same problem. The crack open at the same exact spots, down to the millimeter, and it happen in the brand new cars as well as the older ones. It is clear that this is a manufacturer defective item, and result of a wrong design. Gm does not replace the part unless we pay for it. They are not concerned that parts could fly into the cabin as a result of the air bag deployments and refuse to address the issue. Our cars loose also their value with a defective/broken dash board.the funniest excuse by gm was: "oh, the dash parts are made in mexico! you know how the mexicans are!"

Recall since 2016 no remedy as of now just checked with dealer to verify received notice of takata airbag inflators are defective and the manufacturer is going bankrupt don't know what to do have until december 7, 2017 to file a claim don't know how to do that.

I have consulted with many others who have experienced this issue as well. General motors fails to acknowledge that there's a quality concern or that there's a potential safety concern with these vehicles. This not only affects gmc yukons, but chevrolet tahoes and suburbans as well. The dash board is made of hard but brittle plastic. The dash boards tend to crack over time, especially near the passenger air bag opening, leaving sharp "dagger like" pieces of dash board material loose. In the event of an airbag deployment, there's a risk of these pieces being propelled by the air bag and injuring occupants of the vehicle. I've heard of this affecting vehicles from as little as 1 year old. General motors has refused to acknowledge the issue and has blatantly stated that if it were a safety problem, "the government would do something about it". Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Takata recall, cracks in the dash that run to the air bags on the dash. The center speaker is mounted to the plastic dash and move with the road vibration which breaks the dash along with the uv radiation that weakens the plastic.. The dash could splinter in a crash and wound or kill a passenger.

Dash board crack at airbag compartment.dealer agreed to fix due to safety concern if airbag were to deploy.dealer said gm has acknowledged that every 2007-10 gmc truck and suv dash will crack due to defective inferior part.dealer charge to me was $100.i feel that this should be a recall issue.according to the hundreds of online complaints on this gm dash crack issue i was lucky to only pay $100, many others were not so fortunate and still have these dangerous parts in their cars.the replacement dash is the same defective part as the original, the dealer told me to expect it to crack again in about two or three years.

Very large cracks in the dashboard that can potentially affect use of air bags on both driver and passenger side of vehicle.potential for punctures in bags from sharp plastic edges of cracked dashboard.

Takata recalli was just inquiring about the recall on my vehicle. It has been sometime since the recall was issued and my vehicle hasn't been repaired yet. I don't wish to be another victim in case of a crash.

Takata recalli received a notice in the mail to visit the website www.airbagrecall.com for more info about obtaining free replacement airbags.when i was told that i did need the replacement i placed a call to a dealership in my city & was told that they couldn't do anything for me at this time.it wasn't an official gmc recall. Luckily i have not been involved in an accident yet but am confused as to why gm is not taking action before someone is killed or hurt to take care of this matter.

In april of 2013 i took my gmc into dealership because of the crack that started above my instrument panel and was traveling toward my airbag. The dealer said they were aware of the issue and that gm had repaired some but was no longer doing so. He also said that if they replaced the dash with a new one, it would do the same thing. The crack has continued to travel and now my airbag panel is raised on the dash. I contacted gm and they offered to split the cost of the repair at $400-$500 with no warranty on the repair. They agreed that it is a safety issue. My interior door latches also began peeling which left sharp edges of plastic (?)-my daughter sliced her finger opening the passenger side door from the inside. Gm at first refused to replace them in april of 2013 but as of today, offered to replace them at no cost to me.

I have a 2007 gmc yukon that i purchased new from a dealership that is no longer in business. I noticed in october of 2009 that the dashboard was cracked. Over the next few months the cracks got worse and now are in three areas. I contacted gmc and was told to take it into a dealership for them to access the damage. A week after i took it in i contacted gmc again and they told me that they would offer me a 10% discount to have it fixed. I tried to speak to their supervisor and was given the run around and i gave up. Since then the dashboard has gotten worse and pieces of the dash board are breaking off into the dash. When i put my hand on the dash it is not stable as there is a lot of movement. The cracks are also around my airbag on the passenger side in two spots. I'm afraid to let anyone sit in the front seat due to the possibility of the airbag malfunctioning due to a collapse of the dash. There are pieces of the dash that are already breaking off above the drivers side steering wheel. I'm afaid if this side collapes that it could cause a fire, entrapment, accident, injury and or death. I would hope that you understand my concern of me and my families safety. I would be happy to supply you with pictures or bring my vehicle in for inspection. Gm told me that they haven't heard of this problem, but when i brought it into the dealership the service guy said he had seen a few like this. I have also found a lot of people on the internet that are having this same this happen to their 2007 yukon or 2007 tahoe.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon denali.while driving 35-40 mph, the two passenger side curtain airbags deployed when she ran over a pothole.as of october 9, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle.the current and failure mileages were 10,100. On november 25, 2007,i was traveling on i-540, approx.65 mph , a car pulled in front of me. When i applied brakes, vehicle "zig-zaged", i never thought it would roll over. Onstar called - i told them what happened and that i didn't need any help. About 20 minutes later going approx 45 mph. Ran over something, didn't seem as big as a pothole - both side airbags deployed. Onstar called thinking i had been involved in an accident. I told them what happened and that i was 10 minutes from home and that i could get there without calling for assistance.had vehicle towed to dealership (autopark buick, pontiac, gmc in wendell, nc.(i think it was towed on 11/29/07). Reported to gm, finally received a call to advise that it was my fault and that gm would not pay for the repairs, on 12/26/07. Requested a copy of the report in writing, which i finally received after 2 requests on 01/19/2008. Their reportstates that there was only 1 event - 44 mph - rollover sensor deployed the airbags. I called to ask that they review the information again or have the "recorder in the car" checked. I was told the file was closed. Contacted onstar and received a letter confirming the 2 events . Called gm back to tell them i had new information that supported the fact that there were 2 events, and that something was wrong on gm's end - either the recorder was bad or the data collected was accidentally entered incorrectly. I was told that the file was closed and would not be reopened under any circumstance. Vehicle still at dealership - not repaired in case another inspection needs to be made. I believe this is a defect and gm should be responsible for the cost of repairs.

The check engine/service stabilitrak/engine power reduced light comes on frequently yet the gmc dealer cannot pinpoint the problem. Potentially a connection to recall of cars equipped with heated windshield washer fluid feature. Did detect a slight odor shortly after using the windshield washer fluid and the indicator lights started flashing and the car slowed down considerably on the highway during inclement weather. Thus far nothing has corrected the problem; we are hoping to get the car back to our home state so the dealer can work on resolving this hazard.

While driving the vehicle, heard a clicking/cracking/popping noise, smelled a strong odor of smoke and burning smell from the front passenger side underneath the glove box area.at the same time the widows, mirror, and electric locks on the passenger side of the vehicle would not operate.i stopped the vehicle and turned it off.i started looking down under the glove box area and could still smell a very strong burning smell coming from that area.also the vehicle would not restart.the vehicle was towed to my local auto repair shop.the mechanic observed the same burning smell conditions and removed the wire box underneath the glove box passenger door area.he observed that all the wires were burnt, to include the metal plate that was burnt and charred from an apparent electrical fire.(pictures were taken of the area to include the burnt wires and charred metal)the mechanic stated that we were very lucky the whole car did not catch on fire and burn up.he showed me the damage and stated that where the wires run through a small hole in a metal plate appeared to rub through the wires causing it to short out and actually burn the wires and metal plate.he further stated that a rubber washer or using rubber instead of metal might have prevented the burning/fire.

Vehicle is not safe

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the headlights would fail intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. One month later while driving approximately 15 mph with the radio activated, the radio stopped working, the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air, and the instrument cluster lights were flickering off and on. In addition, the vehicle started to vibrate abnormally.the vehicle later stalled and was able to be restarted and taken to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and there were no repairs. She had not contacted the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 42,000 and the current mileage was 42,030.

The rear access window open when i'm driving or if the vehicle is parking and no running the rear access pop up and get open.

I will be driving and my truck will just lose power. I push on the gas pedal and it goes no where. I have to coast off the highway and then i can stop and turn it off for a few minutes then start it back up with the check engine light on. I have changed the tps 2 times, the entire throttle body, and the mass air flow sensor and it's still doing it.

Rear driver tail light wiring does not work. Put new bulbs in and only thing that works are the brake and reverse light. There is no running light that comes on

My wife and i had just purchased a used 2007 gmc yukon. Little did we know about the major issue the truck has with the reduced power reading that comes up. I really think that gmc needs to put out a recall for these issues. My wife was on her way home from a work meeting and driving on the freeway with her sister and my wife's and my daughter in the gmc yukon and she was doing the speed limit and all of a sudden she didn't know what was going on. She called me and she was in a panic. She had to pull off the freeway and come to a complete stop and when she did the vehicle had died it turned off and she had our 2 month old daughter with out a/c and in 100 degree weather. This issue puts the people's families at risk that own these vehicles and also other drivers families at risk you can not replace a persons life if its taken away and the hardship it causes but you can replace a vehicle so why not come up with solution so the road may become a little bit of a safer place. When my wife had this happen other drivers were not courteous or understanding when someone puts their hazard lights on that something is wrong, they just kept flying past her. Now with several people having this same issue with the same gm make this issue should be resolved. I have looked up and saw chevy doesn't have this issue and chevy is the same company. If the national highway traffic safety association could create this recall and they could use the same part from chevy then surely this issue would be fixed and it would be a safer vehicle. If you were a company owner wouldn't you want to stand by your companies production and create solutions if there were these common issues? wouldn't you want to help make the road a safer place by one little fix? it wouldn't

Rear hatch/lift gate has no manual handle to open.when unlocking power locks rear hatch will not open, there is no way to open lift gate from inside or outside of vehicle.if an accident would happen there would be no way out of rear of vehicle.rear hatch will not open at all, it is all electronic and will not open.this is a common problem for all gm suv's. Have contacted gmc and they don't seem to about issue.

When opening the hatch or back of the vehicle, the lights will go on and off and the vehicle will not start up. You have to wait for 5 minutes sometimes longer for the engine to restart. The vehicle will be in stationary, i have to turn the vehicle off if i am going to open the back if i don't it messes up all the gages in front and will not operate.

My engine speed reduced abruptly while traveling speed of 65mph on the freeway. This has almost caused an accident several times. A reduced engine speed, servicestabilization track and service traction control signs come on. If i pull over and wait 1 minute it starts and doesn't do again for 15 minutes. Sometimes this doesn't happen for a week. I read forums and it appears to be a faulty throttle body, and only with gm vehicles, but gm fails to request a recall. Some have spent hundreds of dollars to replace, and it still does not fix the problem.

The tail gate came down and almost clinch down on my head the tail gate is malfunctioning

The gmc continues to randomly not start or deactivate the stabilitrack, anti-lock brakes were disabled, and the check engine light are all on. This problem happens almost every day and the dealer is unable to identify the source of the problem after several attempts.

Takata recall gm recall#49151i have been in 1 car accident and my airbags did not activate at all when the impact was substantial enough for them to inflate.

The brakes on my07 yukon work intermittently.when driving the truck first thing in the morning at speeds of 15mph to 20 mph brakes fail to engage and have had several close calls.

When driving, if adjusting steering wheel position ip or down, all dash board lights illuminate and engine shuts off.i shift into neutral and re start engine without issues.this happens every time i move the column

The security systemengages while driving and the vehicle locks all doors and prevents the windows from opening dash stops workingcant tell how fast your going and when you stop the vehicle and shut it off none of the electric locks work or the fob you have to unlock the vehicle manually to get out.

Vehicle ignition randomly doesn't start and/or vehicle drive strange with traction control and or transmission acting weird.after 5-10 min, i turn off vehicle and restart and it operates normally again.dealer has seen on multiple occasions and can not explain the problem.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While driving approximately 75 mph, the instrument panel gauges became inoperable and the vehicle shut off. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

2007 gmc yukon denali accelerated without warning. Consumer states that vehicle surged forward after completing a lane change and the brakes would not stop the vehicle. Consumer states that he turned the vehicle off then pulled into a parking lot.the dealer was unable to duplicate the consumers concern.

While driving on surface streets, the yellow abs warning came on, "stabilitrack" light came on. The warning lights started dinging, the transmission slammed between gears, the lights came and went and the door locks were going up and down continuously.lost power also, pulled off and shot off engine.truck would not restart as electrical system was dead.same thing happened 10k miles earlier.this has happened 2times and the car only has 53,000 miles.repairs took over 10 days as the engine was not communicating with the car.replaced engine control module

Gm recalled the takata airbags almost 4 years ago with no fix for my vehicle yet.this is a safety hazard. Also, all the warning lights are lit on the dashboard but no codes are stored.bad ground.

Gives me different readings all the time. I never know how much gas i really have.

Driving through town when the car started slamming into gear.right before, the abs warning light came on and the dash said "stabilitrack disengaged". Car started beeping and lost power.when i was able, pulled over and shut down car.it would not start.towed it to the dealer and they had difficulty diagnosing.ultimately replace ip junction box and fp gateway.same thing happened again 10,000 miles later.

Ii have had my 2007 yukon since sept 2006. Approx 3 weeks ago i began to have trouble getting the vehicle started. When turning the key, it had to be held for about 20-30 seconds before it would finally crank up. Vehicle has been taken to dealership 4 times and is currently still there. I have been told a variety of reasons for the way my car starts that it is a normal "extended start", that they cannot duplicate my problem, and that the vehicle was just programmed that way.i know they have heard the problem because the service manager stood by me while i cranked the vehicle to demonstrate the problem! if the car had a normal "extended start" or was programmed to strat like that it should have been doing it since i purchased the vechile in sept 06 on not just starting to have the problem now in june 07.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon.while driving 60 mph, the instrument panel gauges became inoperable and the vehicle shut off.in addition, the windshield washer fluid activated without warning.as of december 26, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle.the powertrain was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 33,000.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds during sunny road conditions, the gauges on the instrument panel were not visible due to poor illumination.also, the pillars on the driver side created blind spots on both sides of the vehicle.it was taken to a service dealer, who determined that they would research the problem to see if there was recall on the vehicle.the manufacturer was notified.

Can not see speedometer and gauges in instrument panel in bright sunlight due to angle and depth of the panel in its housing.

On the dashboard, there is a button with a stick figure in a sitting position and an arrow at the feet of the stick figure to indicate air to be discharged at the floor by the fan.when i push that button for heating, unfortunately, 80-90% of the air is being discharged at the top of the dashboard through a small vent on the far right and left of the windshield, which are designed to blow on the passenger and driver side windows to defrost them.there is additional leakage of a small volume of air at the defrost vent for the windshield and, whatever's left, blows on the floor.the net result is the vehicle is pumping most of the hot air to the ceiling (because the small dashboard vents point up) where hot air naturally wants to be and it is very difficult to get hot air on the floor where, according to the owner's manual, the majority of the air should be directed.the compartment, therefore, takes forever to warm up and your feet actually get cold while you're driving the car.

There is a problem with the steering wheel mounted radio controls on some 2007 gmc yukon denali trucks with the six disc cd changer. One of these controls is suppose to allow you to change the disc that is playing to another one of the six that you have loaded into the changer. On some of these trucks the wrong wiring harness was installed when the truck was built along with the wrong software being loaded into the electronic module. This prevents this control from functioning correctly. Instead of changing the disc that is playing, it simple goes to the next song on that same cd. There is already a control on the steering column to do this. When i brought this to the attention of the service manager at the dealership hesaid at first that the steering wheel control module was bad and then that the radio was defective. Both items were replaced and the problem remains. He then checked some of the other yukon denalis that he had in stock and told me that on some of these cars the controls worked properly and on some they did not. He then told me about the wiring harness and software problem. Gm's position is that these cars are built properly and they refuse to do anything about it. Page 336 of the owners manual clearly says that this button should change the disc that is playing. I consider this to be a safety problem because now when you want to change the disc you have to take your eyes off the road and look down to the middle of the dashboard and locate a small 1/4" by 1/2"button and push it. This can cause you to drift out of your lane of travel, especially at highway speeds. This, after all, is a primary purpose of steering wheel controls for radios-you can keep your eyes on the road. I hope you will look into this matter and force gm to correct this safety problem.

Was driving down the freeway and the vehicle warning bell rung.on the vehicle heads up display read.traction control, stability control and reduced engine power.the vehicle immediatly started shutting down with no power.this caused a near miss from behind from a tractor trailer vehicle.

I purchased my 2007 yukon about a year ago, in that time the stabilitrak light/check engine/traction control has come on 2 times now.the stabilitrak light comes on and check engine light also comes on it tells me it is turning the stabilitrak off and beeps at me.both times this has happened i have called my mechanic and he told me it is fine to drive to bring it in later and he will hook it up to the computer.the light stays on until i arrive at my destination, i turn the car off let it sit and come back later and it is off when i restart it.i have had the mechanic hook it up to the computer two times now and nothing shows in the history.he has called around to the local gm dealerships and no one knows anything about it.i would like to get this resolved before our extended warranty is up.

I was driving on the expressway at 70 mph and the car completed shut me down to 50 mph in a matter of seconds the check engine light came on then the service traction control, traction control off, service stability track, stability track off.i took to the dealer and had over $1100.00 worth of work done including the throttle body.here we are 5 months later and i am on the expressway car shuts down again and the same warning signals, check engine light, service traction control, service stabilitrak light comes on again.i also have a problem with oil consumption barely make it 1000 miles on a new oil change when the check oil light comes on, when you check the oil there isn't even any oil on the stick.

The tail gate came down and almost clinch down on my head the tail gate is malfunctioning

Stabilitrack light and check engine light illuminates while driving down the highway.the car goes to idle and has no power to accelerate, almost got rear ended by another car.once pulled over to side of road, shut engine down and waited 15 mins to restart.stability track light and check engine light remains on and car accelerates normally.this has happened several times and is an extreme hazard!i have read numerous accounts of this happening to other owners of this model vehicle and dealer has no resolution to fix the problem, they just charge consumers for parts that are not really resolving the issue.this is dangerous for all drivers and will cause a fatality in the near future, something needs to be done!!!

I have a 2007 yukon that continually has the check engine light come on and error saying service stabilitrak - service traction control.sometimes it will clunk (when shifting and this happens).i had the throttle sensor replaced and all 8 spark plugs in 2013 and same error is now back.they are saying i have multiple misfires now and i need to replace all my spark plugs again (for another $500) but they can't guarantee this will fix it.this is a very common problem - all over the web - and it doesn't seem like gmc has taken any accountability for this issue. My car is currently at a very reputable chevy dealership and they have no clue.i am seriously at a loss for words and don't know where to turn.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the stability track, traction control and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle decelerated and the contact had no control of the vehicle. The failure recurred intermittently while the contact was driving at different speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer six different times. The technicians reset the check engine light and the sensor. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

Stabilitrack automatically shuts off at various times and signals on dashboard to get serviced. When stabilitrack is off transmission shifts very roughly and car lurches forward. Date of occurrence is approx but has been happening ever since.

While driving on surface streets, the yellow abs warning came on, "stabilitrack" light came on. I have had my vehicle for about 4 years now. I haven't had any issues with it up until july of last year (2014). I experienced my car jerking erratically and had to pull over. The car lost speed and could not accelerate. I had taken it to a mechanic who then said i needed a new transmission. I have had the transmission replaced. About 6 months later the jerking started again on and off, no loss of speed and it would only jerk going form first gear to second. I have not worried about it until now because the car would only jerk every so often. Now my traction control and stabilizer service warning message pops up. I have taken it to several places i have been told that i needed a throttle body, abs module and both are not cheap to fix they all want to charge me $500- $1200 to fix the problem. I began researching and see that the issue i am having may be due to a manufacturing issue. I plan to take it to another mechanic before i start paying for more costly repairs. If for some reason this is a manufacturing issue, these vehicles need to be recalled before a serious accident happens.

Warning bells start chiming, 5.3 engine with afm starts running rough, service traction control, service suspension system, abs lights come on. These symtoms occur within seconds of starting. Diagnostics says different things each time such as misfires, worn cam, etc. The engine only has 140k miles. There are numerous complaints on this engine. Gm did offer numerous customers replacement engines under 150k miles. I can't get the dealer to own up to this.

2007 gmc yukon slt...stabilitrak failure.this error has popped up as we are operating the vehicle around 7 times.it shuts down and reduces the power to the engine so that the car does not have enough power to get to a safe place out of traffic.imagine driving at 70mph and the vehicle suddenly loses power and you have a massive big rig closing down on your tail with no power to get out if the way!imagine climbing a hill with the vehicle power suddenly reduced with a big rig trying to climb behind you and you have no where to turn off for safety.i am extremely disappointed in this vehicle with only 127614 highway miles on it.the vehicle was repaired with a differential problem with only 65,000 miles on it.

My husband was driving and the tracking and stabilization light came on. The truck turn off in mid traffic. It did start back up and we took it to gmc dealer. They have had it since. The dealer still has the truck and has fixed three different things and my bill is increasing, but they have failed to find the problem. This is a danger to myself, my husband and our two children. I have called gm and they are pretty much like stay in contact with dealer.

(takata recall) since i purchase the gmc yukon i have experience a numerous engine-elec stability control-airbags-every two weeks. I need to add engine oil is a safety risk.

Happened two times yesterday.2007 yukon denaliodometer: 191,707engine hours:1443.9first, stabilitrak control turned off and engine power was reduced illuminated on the message center of the dash board.car would not accelerate above 20 mph.when i would try to push the gas petal there would be a shutter in the rear of the vehicle.i was able to put the car in park, turn it off and tried restarting.same issues continued.i limped to my work a less than a mile away to try and figure out what was happening as i had myself and 4 kids in the car after trick or treating.i shut off the car and waited for a bit while i read online what was causing this.upon restarting the car, it started working again as normal.safety risk when you can't accelerate past 20 mph on a 45 mile per hour road.second occurance was a few hours later.i turned the car on to leave and the same things happened, this time it was driving like i had lost my power steering and no engine power.luckily, again, i was in a spot to pull off to the side, turn the car off and made it home okay.this car has a brand new engine.upon reading here and some other things online it seems the stabilitrak has numberous reports of this same thing.luckily i have been in a spot where it didn't become dangerous and i knew what to do based on reading here.i use my yukon for work so can't have this happening and it's dangerous for myself, my kids and other drivers on the road if they happen to be behind me when it happens.hopefully with enough complaints something can be done to fix this issue.i have included a pic of the symbol that illuminated on my dashboard when this happened.

Vehicle went into reduced engine power and crashed into fence. Vehicle goes into reduced engine power after 22 repair attempts and on highway at 70 miles per hour with children in car this is an extremely dangerous situation. My vehicle was damaged from the reduced engine power and at this point it is unable to be solved permanently to stop the vehicle from going into reduced engine power. It does it whenever and wherever without knowing. Goes from high rate of speed to zero. Almost had a semi slam into myself on the interstate. I could not pull over. Have had every part replaced and dealership is at a loss. Needs to be a recall due to inability to solve the problem.

The brakes on my07 yukon work intermittently.when driving the truck first thing in the morning at speeds of 15mph to 20 mph brakes fail to engage and have had several close calls.

If you were a company owner wouldn't you want to stand by your companies production and create solutions if there were these common issues? wouldn't you want to help make the road a safer place by one little fix? it wouldn't

Stabilitrac and traction control service is on screen.car makes loud noise when starting.not all the time.turning off engine and restarting fixes problem but service lights stay on..i've heard many reports about this issue.why isn't there a recall.are we waiting for an accident?

Stabilitrack and traction control off. Warning light comes on when braking or moderate steering change. There are numerous complaints online of the same type of problem. Owners just spent $7000.00 in repairs that did not fix the problem. Gm refuses to acknowledge the problem.

"takata recall" while braking the suv jerks while applying the brakes. New rotors and brakes installed and the problem still continues.

I brought this suv in nov 2017 and went to chicago to see my mom and kids and the stabilitrak control kick and made the truck not go pass 30 mph making the trans kick in i went to the dealer and they said it the pressure swtch and the truck only have 140.000

My stabitity trac control lot popped on, check engine light, tire pressure light and now my low oil pressure light popped on saying stop engine.

Gmc is currently admitting to faulty ignition switch failure. When i purchased my vehicle three years ago every year this has been an ongoing issue filed a complaint last year in 2013 never heard back from dealership. Dealership has been fixing issue but not taken care of it properly. Looked at recall list but the 2007 gmc yukon was not included. Can you please advise?

Roughly 30 times since march my 2007 gmc yukon xl 5.3 slt has had the dreaded stabilitrack off, service stabilitrack, reduced engine power problem.you can be driving along at various speeds and the error will come on and you will be completely unable to accelerate. Leaving a very dangerous situation for my family.it has happened when pulling a camper and without pulling anything either.gm refuses to help the many families having the same problems.

"reduced engine power" message while driving on the highway at 65mph. My truck immediately dropped down to 35 mph and nearly caused a wreck.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the service stabilitrak, service traction control, and the abs warning lights illuminated. In addition, the contact mentioned that the passenger side tail light continuously failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the cruise control system failed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 82,000. Updated 08/11/14*ljthe consumer stated the 3 warning lights illuminate upon braking quickly or, when the brake is depressed at a light. The light had been replaced and would blow out in less than a week. The cruise control failed.updated 08/13/2014

While my wife was driving on the interstate highway at 55mph, the suv check engine light came on, followed by a traction control warning on the display, then the vehicle went into "limp mode", reducing power and speed to approx 20 mph. She turned on the hazards, and moved into the right lane as other vehicles went around her at the posted speed limit as the engine was bucking and missing. She exited the highway and limped the truck, barely getting up to 20 mph to a service shop. They scanned the codes, the only one there directed them to change the throttle body, ($580). The vehicle ran good for 3 days, then all the same bells and whistles came back. Gmc service said they have no knowledge of a problem. Upon researching this online, i found it's far from uncommon. If this has not caused an accident yet, its only a matter of time..

Serious safety issue please read, research and address!!! 2007 gmc yukon 4x4 my stabilitrack light comes on then engine power flashes and i loose power ongoing problem! i was doing 70 mph down the freeway when this happened fortunely no one was behind me serious safety issue!i have had it to the dealer x2 two months ago. At first they cleaned the throttle body but could not pin point the problem. The second time i had it there they again could not find the problem. I have researched this online and this is a common problem. No real conclusive answer to why. There needs to be an investigation as this is a serious safety issue!! i am taking my vehicle to another auto mechanic. My vehicle has about 140,000 miles however this proble began nearly a year ago but it did not reduce engine power. The problem fixes it self if you shut the truck off and restart. Please address!![xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

2007 gmc yukon denali. As i was driving...engine light came on, following with vehicle stability control, traction control disable then reduced engine power and it wont let me drive more then 20 mph. Took it the dealer, replaced terminal wires, replaced bcm module ($1100). Two days later same lights comes back on dashboard...took it to the dealer and they told me i need throttle body replaced ($631). Then even more issues came, as you stopping for the stop light, but the truck jerking forward while foot on break and as stopping it makes a thud noise when slowing down. Contact gm said they'll be able to help me out but then they decline for any help and simply told me there is nothing they can do. Now dealer is telling me i need breaks, ball joints, up control arms, shocks. Truck has under less then 100k miles and most of these should last more then 100k. Even dealer admitted by saying i've never seen yukon denali going back. Its a safely issue. My wife will not drive this truck any more with 3 kids in it and now it just sits in my garage while making payments to this truck. Its ridiculous! im sure there are someone out there that can help us and others who are going through the same issue before gm get a lawsuit and have blook on their hands.

Every couple days when i start the vehicle the starter seems to keep trying to restart after the car is running i usually just tap it to turn over but it continue to turn itself over on its own causing grind noise. Very unusual. Seems like a malfunction. Not sure how to explain it doesn't happen everyday but it happens enough i need to get make a complaint its not normal.

(takata recall) since i purchase the gmc yukon i have experience a numerous engine-elec stability control-airbags-every two weeks. I need to add engine oil is a safety risk.

74,000 miles on the odometer and loud ticking noise coming from the engine on the left side. After doing my research and taking it to the dealership hamby in perry, ga they said i needed a new engine but i got a second opition it is the afm lifters a camshaft thats causing the noise gm needs to do a recall asap

Gradual coolant loss over time with no evidence of leak found. Took it to the dealer and they said that the head was porous. My extended insurance is not honoring the claim because gm has a bulletin #06-06-01-019b. The cylinder head assembly has a defected casting manufactured by castech. Why no recall?

No one will get the parts in to repair my airbags and it's been years. Its as if they want me to get rid of my truck but i don't want to. There's also a recall on something smoking and the year starts at 2007 yet my truck isn't included which is very strange some i just had this happen to me on 2/9 and had to have my truck towed and repaired at american petroleum on quarterfield rd.

My stabitity trac control lot popped on, check engine light, tire pressure light and now my low oil pressure light popped on saying stop engine.

I have taken it to several places i have been told that i needed a throttle body, abs module and both are not cheap to fix they all want to charge me $500- $1200 to fix the problem. If for some reason this is a manufacturing issue, these vehicles need to be recalled before a serious accident happens.

While driving to work on the interstate i approached slow moving traffic. Upon slowing down my vehicle displayed the following messages: "service traction control", "service stabilitrack", "reduced engine power". The suv would not accelerate over 15mph requiring my to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle shook violently until i was able to put it in park and turn off the engine. After 10 minutes of sitting on the side of the road i stared the engine again. The suv started right up but the "check engine" light remained on. This was a terrifying experience on a busy stretch of hwy 88 outside of chicago. I hope others do not have to go through this experience.

Started the motor in the morning noticed a light ticking noise come from the motor. Sounds like the lifters are tapping. The noise use to only be in the morning but now it is constant. Took it to a repair shop for a diagnosis was informed that the lifters are going bad!!!!! was told it was going to cost around 3000.00 to fix the problem. After doing some research on the internet i could not believe how many other gm owners were having the same problem. Please investigate this problem and have a recall placed on these motors i think it is unfair that we have to pay out so much money to own a nice car just to have it turn into a big pile. My low mileage car sounds like it has 200000 miles on it.

This is another incident that occurred the same week as my last complaint. While driving home from lunch i slowed the vehicle as i was going down a hill, this did not require any use of the accelerator pedal. The suv started right up but the "check engine" light remained on until the following day. Engine codes lead to a faulty throttle body position sensor which was replaced after the incident on 7/13. I took my vehicle to the gmc dealer today who informed me of the same problem yet again. These are either bad parts or a some bigger gm issue.

Low oil pressure stop engine on dash with with oil and reset in motion on highway

Bolts breaking the bolts breaking off the exhaust manifold and putting a crack in it i looked it up and it's coming on gm vehicles with from ranging 2003 to 2009

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact pulled over, restarted the vehicle, and continued driving to her destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

We are making payments on this vehicle from tri-united in lubbock tx. All the engine lights are on and the air bags are missing this vehicle body appears to be wrecked the hood isn't sitting right. The dealership even asked if we could have the vehicle inspected in which it failed the first inspection.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While driving at various speeds, the contact noticed that the low engine oil indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle was sluggish. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there were no failures; however, the contact stated that the vehicle would continue to drive sluggish and consume excessive amounts of oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,000.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered intermittently with the traction control and check engine warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while attempting to move off from a traffic light. The contact contacted jack winegardner chevrolet (11001 md-210, fort washington, md 20744, (301) 292-6500) and was informed that the fuel injector and fuel rail needed to be cleaned. The vehicle was repaired. The contact added fuel injector cleaner however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the contact was informed that the fuel pump was defective. The check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 244,000.

When vehicle was inspected i was told that there was an exhaust leak in exhaust manifold.dealership found a broken bolt on left side and replaced it.i have just been informed that i now as of 01/30/2012 with 62,760 miles i have another bolt broken on the right side. After researching on internet it is obvious that gm has a design fault in using lower grade bolt which are breaking in large numbers.i implore the ntsa to require gm to replace these defective bolts either by recall or as incident occurs at no cost to car owners.i am told that the exhaust leak can cause failure of the catalytic converter and other engine failure problems which can result in safety issues.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle started shaking while idling rough. The check engine warning light and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact heard a load revving sound coming from under the hood. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact scheduled an appointment with white plains buick gmc (358 central ave, white plains, ny 10606, (914) 368-2108) to have the vehicle diagnosed. The contact received a callback and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced at a cost of $7,000. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000.

Exhaust manifold bolts are breaking which could allow exhaust to get into cab.

Vehicle gets extremely low gas, 13 mpg on average.burns oil . Need to add 2-3 quarts of oil between oil changes. Engine cooling fan stays on for extended periods while driving. All of which the dealership says is normal for the truck. They removed the driveshaft because of clunking at 25k mi.reaction carrier replaced and transmission reconditioned at 36,663 mi after car stopped in the middle of the street. Car had to be towed in. At 62k miles engine light on and idles rough. Replaced throttle body. At 67k won't engage in reverse and makes clunking sound from reverse to drive. Replaced reverse housing, reaction shell, etc. At 75k had a reaction carrier failure, lost power brakes and lost power to the car. Almost was rear ended. Had to stop in middle of parking lot during christmas rush. Waited 5 min and restarted. Engine light stayed on, but was able to get to dealership. Was told that throttle body needs to be cleaned every 15k miles under service maintenance. This was the first time i heard this! not really sure why it had to be cleaned, though, justhad the throttle body replaced 13k miles ago. It seems that there are major flaws in the design of theengine. Obviously, the dealership has been putting band aids on my problem because they don't know how to fix. I have been very lucky that my family and children have not been in a major accident due to themajor flaws in the engine designs. Every time i get my car fixed, the tech assures me that they have fixedthe problem. I am really afraid to drive this car with so many close calls. The car is a hazard to drive!

The cooling fan is very loud and stays on for an abnormal amount of time when the car is in park or at a stop while on only when the temperature outside is over 85 degrees.the fan will continue to stay on while driving for 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes it won't shut off until the car is shut off and then restarted.had it for repair on several different occasions at gmc and the technician said that is was normal.

I was driving the vehicle down the road doing 65 mph. The engine light came on and the message appeared that stated "engine power reduced" "service stablitrak" "traction control off". The car lost all power and i was unable to go over 20 mph the rest of my trip home. I went from 65 mph to 20 mph in seconds, on the interstate full of traffic. When i got home i then noticed a "hot" smell. I then had the car towed to a mechanic.

"reduced engine power" message while driving on the highway at 65mph. My truck immediately dropped down to 35 mph and nearly caused a wreck.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon.while parked in the driveway, the vehicle caught fire underneath the hood.the fire spread across the vehicle and caused an explosion, which burned down an entire home.the incident occurred at 5 am.the police and fire departments arrived on the scene and reports were filed.the vin was unknown.the current and failure mileages were approximately 22,000.updated 04-08-08 updated 04/08/08

I noticed an approximate 4'' crack on my dash between the windshield and steering wheel hump. I then noticed a similar crack emerging near the top left portion of the front passenger side air bag. I thought maybe the employees where i get my car wash were applying too much pressure. However, after looking online to buy a new dash, i found that i was among many gmc owners that have the same issue. I dont think it is a coincidence that we all have the same cracks, in the same location on the dash. Also, the chrome plating on both my driver and front passenger inner door handles is peeling off. I heard that exposure to the sun may be a cause, however, my two front windows have had 5% tint on them since i bought it.also, i just got my vehicle back from the dealership because of check engine light issues. The problem is fixed for now, however, after researching online it seems like there are hundreds of gmc yukon owners experience very similar issues with their vehicle's engine. I keep reading about the "reduced engine power" and "service stabilitrak" warnings.

Purchased this vehicle in march 09. It has been in the shop 4 different times for a/c. Started about 4 months after purchase. Driver side a/c blows hot air, but passenger side and rear work fine. Have also experienced the brakes slipping off and on. Push the brake pedal and the pedal will drop down a little lower while pressure being applied and vehicle will slide to a halt. Happened about 6 times since ownership. Chrome plating on interior door handles is peeling, causing cuts/lacerations to hands. Recent problem of engine running low of oil in between oil changes. Now low about 2 quarts. Running oil consumption tests now.

2007 yukon goes into reduced engine power on a regular basis. As a result, there was a crash on one particular incident. On a daily basis, it continues to and the engine cuts out as a result as well, no rhyme or reason. On the interstate, going 70 miles an hour the vehicle cut off, went into reduced engine power and myself and my family were just seconds short from losing our lives. This has all been reported to gm and we've gotten no resolution. Motherboards, gas pedals, gas caps, wires, everything you can think of has been replaced on my vehicle and it still goes into reduced engine power putting my families lives at risk. This is an extremely dangerous situation.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact was driving 55 mph when the check engine warning light illuminated and the engine reducing power warning message also illuminated. The vehicle began to lose power and the contact was unable to maneuver the steering wheel. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer for inspection but not repaired. The failure persisted and the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times in regards to the failure but never repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the auto body assembly be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 76,187 and the current 77,600.

Bought this vehicle in aug 2013. Had to bring back to dealer because catalytic converter was no good.had my mechanic check out rest of car and he found excessive rusting on frame especially where rear tire is mounted.

After taking a online safety coarse i was instructed on adjusting my outside rear view mirrors for better viewing of black views from my inside rear view mirror.. After doing so,being the only driver, the mirrors stayed the same...after some time iread in my manual that i could fold my side mirrors in and so i tried to do so . My driver outside mirror would not fold. It only made a clicking sound..i then tried my right side mirror and it worked but as i tried to adjust my right side mirror it stopped adjusting the position of the mirror view.i have adjusted the view angle just a few times and this is the first time i've tried to fold the mirrors in.i'm truly disappointed in the plastic hardware on such a nice vehicle..

My name is [xxx] , i reside in tucson az, i own ad my wife and i drive a 2007 g m c yukon slt, my concern isour yukon seems to lunge at times, what i mean is, when we stop our s u v at stoplights, stop signs, or pulling into our garage the rpm raises to what i feel is an unsafe level.which requires us to apply the brakes in a manner for which i and my wife feel is excessive pressure being applied to the brakes. We have expressed our concerns to our local g m c dealership more than five times in a one year time frame. Their response is we and our techs, can not duplicate the issue we have expressed! we both feel this is an unacceptable response. I know that the system involved is non mechanical system that operates the gas peddle it operates the accelerator peddle by the use sensors and or sending units.please advise. My stabitity trac control lot popped on, check engine light, tire pressure light and now my low oil pressure light popped on saying stop engine.

On 10/08/2020 i was driving in heavy traffic at 5 pm when the engine lost power and the dash started flashing first it was turning off the stability control system and the next message was going into reduced engine power mode. At that point, the vehicle dropped to about 30 mph with full throttle and i had to maneuver thru traffic to get off the freeway. Not easy to do with a car that will only do 30 mph or so. With caution lights blinking and waving at cars i nearly got rear-ended twice before i could get off the freeway.

2007 gmc yukon.interior door handles.chrome plating has separated from the top where handle is grabbed.handles are razor sharp and care is needed when opening door otherwise injury can and has occurred.

I own a 2007 gmc yukon xl and the passenger and driver door chrome handle is peeling off and i got my finger cut as i tried to exit on the driver side door a couple of times . I just put tape around it but i think that it should be fixed it's a hazard and danger to have that happened.

Dashboard has cracked significantly in two locations one of which is by the front passenger airbag.also, the interior and exterior door handles have peeled and cracked.specifically, the interior handles have peeled to the point of causing damage to the driver/passenger hands upon usage.

I have just purchased a used 2007 yukon slt, on a daily basis my family and i experience small cuts on our hands and fingers, by opening the interior car doors. The latches become extremely sharp at the top seems. I have had to teach my children how to avoid getting cuts. I have had the car for five days and we have sustained cuts for five days. How long should this go on??

The chrome metal covering the inside door handles of my yukon has cracked and is separating from the handles.the sharp chrome metal injured my wife by slicing her finger as she exited the vehicle.my daughter previously ran her foot on the back seat handle and cut her foot.this is an obvious material defect and should be replaced.this is dangerous.

Stabilitrack automatically shuts off at various times and signals on dashboard to get serviced. When stabilitrack is off transmission shifts very roughly and car lurches forward. Date of occurrence is approx but has been happening ever since.

I had stopped at a 4 stop intersection.i took off and there was a sudden jerk, like i hit something or someone hit me.the car stopped suddenly, i tried to accelerate, the engine revved without acceleration.i put car the in park and back in drive, car did not move. I put it in reverse, had no problem going back but was in traffic and close to an intersection so it was unsafe to go back. Called "aaa" for tow. Cops came; they had me put car in 1st gear. Car was fine in 1st and 2nd gear.drove car to parking lot. Cop stated that i had a transmission problem.had car towed to gmc dealership. Next morning (may 7), dealership stated that it was a broken forward sprag but they needed to go deeper to see if there was more extensive damage to transmission.asked how much, he said maybe 2000 to 4000. I called gmc home office and spoke with a rep. Let her know that my car was only 6 yrs old with low mileage and i didn't understand why i was having transmission problems. She called dealership and was told the same thing that i was told. At this point i didn't trust to deal with gmc so i decided to remove my car from the dealership.received a call from dealership 2 hours later stating that they had authorization from gmc home office to offer me assistance of 40% off the total price.they said that it may be between 1500 to 3000.i had my husband call and they told him that if there was not extensive damage from the "broken forward sprag" it might be cheaper.received call from dealership on may 8, no extensive damage, only replacing the "forward sprag".i am grateful for the assistance of 40% but i'm still upset that i have to repair the transmission on this car. It's not that old and i barely drive it.i've checked the web and have noticed other owners with similar problems. I was told to file a complaint with this agency and maybe it can be investigated.

The bolts in the manifold sheared off.

Im we are very concerned about our family's saftey.yours truly [xxx] p.sthank you for your considerationinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the transmission failed. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed that the transmission needed replacement but was not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000. ..updated 06/27/17

I placed the shift in park, stepped out of the car (it was dark about 10pm) and was imediately knocked down.the car backed over both legs and into a ditch.i hit my head and was unconcious for 15-20 minutes.i am recovering slowly.i am sure i put the car in park-at least i thought i did.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon.while driving at highway speeds or lower, the transmission shifts very hard.there is also a harsh pounding sound coming from the transmission.all of the electrical components on the instrument panel failed.the dealer changed the crankshaft sensor.while driving, the contact cannot tell when the gear is in neutral.the speedometer displays inaccurate speeds and the air bag light illuminates.the plastic on the window fell off and the front driver's side door handle sticks when it is pulled, and will not go back in.the contact hears a rubbing sound coming from the steering column.the instrument panel cluster has been replaced and the check engine light would remain illuminated.the current mileage was 29,000 and failure mileage was 10,229. Update 09/10/08 *cwthe lug nut caps were missing, the check engine light was on. The gas cap was not sealing. The dealer replaced the gas cap. Updated 09/15/08.

Driving at about 20 miles per hour, excelled to get past another vehicle and the vehicle basically stopped, threw us(kids, myself) back, almost in a whiplash type manner.as i tried to excel the engine just revved and the car would not move.i put into 3rd, but when i made a stop i had to put into 2nd.stopped again, had to go to first, wouldn't move in any other gear and barely in first.i was near the dealer thank goodness and pulled in there.

This new vehicle has shifting problems.sometimes the rpms will reverse when you stomp on the gas.it doesn't respond.this is a safety issue in that if you pull out into traffic, you may or may not get the acceleration needed to avoid impact.the transmission goes crazy.the local gmc certified repair service tech said that they have been instructed not to try to work on the system.gmc is aware of the problem, but there are no solutions.it will actually miss and loose rpm's when you accelerate in mountain terrains.it is only somewhat reliable in highway travel that is flat.someone is going to get killed soon if not addressed immediately.

When coming to a complete stop, the brakes jerk or a slipping motion after you are at complete stop. We have brought it to the attention to the dealership numerous times and the have just lubed the problem, according their memo that is the procedure, instead of fixing the problem.this is a almost daily basis,it appears to be a problem that gmc doesn't want to spend the money to fix on these vehicles.

Service 4 wheel drive message came up on instrument panel(dic). Shifting into 4 wheel drive amber light kept flashing denoting transfer shift did not occur, however shift could be felt. Manual clearly states do not shift into gear or damage can occur to tranny. Dealer fixed; got home & same problem . Worked intermittently. At dealers now for 2nd time -gave me loaner car .found 2 service bulletins same problem on nhtsa web site.

Drivers side seatbelt buckle unlatches at random times without being touched.driving or stationary makes no difference.passenger side seatbelt will not latch. There appears to be a piece missing inside the buckle.

Seat belt system seem to be defected. Air bag are not functioning properly.

The seatbelt female receptacle on the driver's seat will not accept the male end without depressing the seatbelt buckle release button.

My 2007 gmc yukon seatbelts in 3rd row of seats locks up when car is in motion. If my child is in their carseat it locks them where they cant move and breath. They cry and i have to pull over on highways, etc. To unlock seatbelt all the way back. Even unhooking from the child safety seat.it is very dangerous and is a safety concern.gmc referred me to you all instead of addressing the issue. Seems to be a seatbelt defect that needs a recall for yukons.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the seat belt buckle in the rear middle seat was fractured and would not latch. The dealer (gmc ford in bakersfield, ca) was contacted and stated the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure was not repaired. Additionally, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure with the air bags. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that when entering the vehicle the seat belt was latched closed and disconnected without being touched. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000. The vin was unavailable.

- the contact stated that the seat belt intermittently failed inthe2007 gmc yukonwith 300 failure mileage. The third row rear passenger seat belt locked properly, but when removing the child from the seat, the seat belt would retract, which caused bruising to the arm and chest of the child. The dealer stated that the seat belts were within safety standards.the current mileage was 500 .

Seat belt system seem to be defected. Air bag are not functioning properly.

On june 28, 2006 while looking at a general motors corporation 2007 yukon, with a retractable middle seat.i had the passenger's rear door opened looking inside at the interior. The salesman, without looking where i was, pushed the top console button above the front seatswhich caused the seat to quickly and very hard to retract, striking the left side of my neck, temporally stunning me.thisis a very dangerous option that could seriouslyhurt someone not knowing how fast and hard this occurs.i also don't know if there is any safety feature that this could happen while asmall child or infant was in the seat and someone accidentally pushed the button.

There is cracks appearing on the dash all along the airbags housing compartment and part of the air bag is exposed . I'm very afraid that the airbag will go off while i'm driving because the dash is so cracked it's barely holding the bag in . I'm also worried it will affect the safety components and not work in an accident because of it being exposed to some elements due to the cracks. My vehicle has been garaged kept and always professionally maintained so it's not something we did or did not do i believe it's cheap material on the dash causing this to occur. Another big issue is the gas and brake pedal are adjustable and have completely come undone and fallen off the adjustable mechanism while i was driving . I called the company and she said someone would contact me soon and it's been a month i've yet to hear from them. It was a terrifying ordeal to be driving and all of a sudden you can't accelerate or brake . I was so scared for my children's safety as we were all in the car driving down the road when this happened.

The gmc continues to randomly not start or deactivate the stabilitrack, anti-lock brakes were disabled, and the check engine light are all on. This problem happens almost every day and the dealer is unable to identify the source of the problem after several attempts.

"takata recall" while braking the suv jerks while applying the brakes. New rotors and brakes installed and the problem still continues.

The brakes on my07 yukon work intermittently.when driving the truck first thing in the morning at speeds of 15mph to 20 mph brakes fail to engage and have had several close calls.

When coming to a complete stop, the brakes jerk or a slipping motion after you are at complete stop. Same exact issue as other people have described occurs with my 2007 gmc yukon slt. Rpms increase and vehicle lunges as i am pulling into the garage and also slowing down at stop signs going no more than a few mphs to try to come to a stop.i need to quickly apply the brakes in order to stop/slow down the vehicle.

2007 gmc yukonbrakes did not engage i.e. Air to the flooraccident occurred.

2007 gmc yukon has a brake system issue.consumer states that they have taken their vehicle several times to the dealership for the same problem and told nothing can be done for the brake problem. *njthe consumer stated the brakes made a squealing noise which was very loud at times.

We got our brakes fixed at the dealerabout six months ago and we continued to complain of noises and squeaking, but the dealer said it was just dust because they were new. After months of complaining, we begin to receive oil changes free of charge with no explanations. January 6, 2011 i went in for a routine oil change andi was told that the brake caliber was broken and leaking brake fluid;she also said i need new front brake pads; both of the rotors are broken and need to be replaced and i have been complaining about the brakes for almost 4-6 months. Also the differential is making a loud noise as well. Estimation of; the brake caliber and pads is $550; both rotor $1000 and differential problem $1000 which i will have to pay. I believe these problems are manufacturer related and should dealt with immediately. The dealer kept my car and stated it was unsafe to drive. I was not offered a loaner after explaining that i only have one vehicle and will not be able to get back and forth to work. I was not given and estimated time of when the car would be completed for repairs. Immediate response to this claim is warranted before i spend any out of pocket money on something that is definitely a manufacturer problem or an error by one of the mechanics sooner before the problem escalated into further damages.

The incorrect fuel levels when it run low, it was showing that have 120 miles to go, when i just drove for 20 miles and it empty, it drop down so fast that i'm so nervous, almoston freewayno where near by for gas station, it happeningseen i bought this truck back in 2009and stillnow problem with it, i have to refill almost half of the tank every time, can't wait until it empty light it will out of gas so quick, and second problem is steeringmakingnoise everyturn on a columnof steering.

Dt*: the contact stated that the vehicle's lighting for the instrument panel was not sufficient enough to see the gauges at night and the steering wheel was bent to the left.the service dealer inspected the vehicle who agreed both problems were valid, but could not offer a solution.the manufacturer was notified and offered no solution.updated 08/25/06.

Dashboard has cracked significantly in two locations one of which is by the front passenger airbag.also, the interior and exterior door handles have peeled and cracked.specifically, the interior handles have peeled to the point of causing damage to the driver/passenger hands upon usage.

I noticed an approximate 4'' crack on my dash between the windshield and steering wheel hump. I then noticed a similar crack emerging near the top left portion of the front passenger side air bag. Dashboard cracked on the passenger side at the airbag compartment, concerned that it may cause airbag to malfunction.

I own a 2007 gmc yukon and the dashboard cracked in two separate places and now fell in on one side.i contacted the dealer and they told me that this wasn't a recall item, however when i research this on the internet i found a number of other complaints about the same problem with the same type of vehicle. 2007 gmc yukon.interior door handles.chrome plating has separated from the top where handle is grabbed.handles are razor sharp and care is needed when opening door otherwise injury can and has occurred.

Very large cracks in the dashboard that can potentially affect use of air bags on both driver and passenger side of vehicle.potential for punctures in bags from sharp plastic edges of cracked dashboard.

A large crack occurs in dash around area of airbag as well as a crack on the drivers side dash near instrument cluster.

The plastic dash cap which covers the electrical, instrument cluster and holds the airbag is cracked. Currently there is only one crack approximately 4 inches long which is located over the instrument cluster hump. My concern is that the dash cap will continue to produce new cracks around the passenger air bag as other yukon owners have experienced. If the vehicle is involved in an accident the cracked brittle dash pad could shatter and impact and injure someone in the vehicle.

Defective dashboard:the dashboard has cracked above the instrument cluster on the driver side of the vehicle.it has also cracked behind the airbag on the passenger side of the vehicle.i was working with [xxx] service advisor at freeway chevrolet in chandler, az..he admitted that this is a defective part and many of these dashboards come in cracked regularly.they refuse to give any replacement assistance.my main concern is if the airbag deploys and gets caught on the cracked dashboard.below is a link to a facebook page with consumers that have the same issue with their gm product.http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/251892298253/permalink/10151437659298254/?comment_id=10151439619973254information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My dash cracked and is very sharp.. I am worried about it in an accident with the airbag.

Crack in dash behind the steering wheel to the left of the hump.was told that it could compromise the airbag.needs to be a recall on this, as i see that many, many other people have this same problem.

Interior chrome plated door handles, plastic chrome splits open and cuts your hand.

I have consulted with many others who have experienced this issue as well.general motors fails to acknowledge that there's a quality concern or that there's a potential safety concern with these vehicles.this not only affects gmc yukons, but chevrolet tahoes and suburbans as well.the dash board is made of hard but brittle plastic.the dash boards tend to crack over time, especially near the passenger air bag opening, leaving sharp "dagger like" pieces of dash board material loose.in the event of an airbag deployment, there's a risk of these pieces being propelled by the air bag and injuring occupants of the vehicle.i've heard of this affecting vehicles from as little as 1 year old.general motors has refused to acknowledge the issue and has blatantly stated that if it were a safety problem, "the government would do something about it".any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My dash has cracked twice on my 2007 gmc yukon.the first time was around the air bag and the dealer replaced it in 2011.now january 2014, the dash is cracked again around the air bag.took into the dealer and they said gmc will not replace because of the mileage of the vehicle, which is 110,001. However the dealer offered to give me $2,000.00 toward a new vehicle.really!! if you were going to give me $2,000.00 then replace my dash! my concern is if the dash is cracked what keeps the air bag from not deploying at any time.this is a safety hazard as i see it.i hope that you can do something to make them replace the dash.please help.

The 2007 gmc yukon (& chevrolet tahoe) have a significant safety issue / problem.the instrument panel gauges are very difficult to read in daytime (sunny) conditions. Most of the time during daytime/sunny conditions you can not just glance at the instruments to read them.you have to divert your attention for 2 or more seconds to read even the speedometer (which is the easiest to read).all instruments have black faces with white markings which are legible day and night.the daytime visual recognition problem is caused by two conditions. 1)red pointers that do not contrast sufficiently with the black face, and 2) dash cowling shading/glare problems.the top left (oil pressure) and top right (voltmeter) gauges are almost impossible to read.the bottom right (coolant temp) is very difficult to read.the bottom left (fuel) is difficult to very difficult to read.the two large center gauges (tachometer and speedometer) are difficult to read.the time / attention required to read these gauges presents a safety hazard because you are forced to take your eyes off the road for far to long (or to keep repeating looks to check your speed / fuel status.i recently purchased a 2007 gmc yukon and made a road trip of 3000 miles. Two drivers had similar visual recognition problems during daylight hours. I gave up even trying to read the other gauges.if you wear sunglasses you have to lift them to try to read the gauges.there are some things you can do (have to do) to lessen the visual recognition problem.1) turn on the lights (provides minimal dash illumination), 2) close the sunroof shade (reduces glare), and 3) place you hand above your eyes as a shield (reduces glare).i have talked to the gm dealer to see if they could increase illumination on the dash lighting.(that would still mean i would have to turn on the lights during the day.)bottom line - they can't do anything - they can't re-engineer gm's product.

The silver covering on the interior door handles of my 2007 yukon's handles are peeling and are very sharp at the seams. My entire family has cut ourselves several times since we have owned the vehicle.

Silver covering where it was molded is peeling and has cut me & my wife. This has happened too all inside doors.

My 2007 gmc yukon's chrome interior door handles are peeling. A co-worker of mine and girlfriend were cut by the peeling plastic. Both cuts were deeper than your average paper cut and was very painful. This was on the passenger door, then i was cut on the driver side weeks later. Gmc would not replace as my mileage is out of warrant and they wanted to charge $340 to replace!! extremely costly and frustrating for a dangerous non-repair.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the chrome coating on the front and rear driver and passenger's side door handles were peeling. As a result, the contact and four additional passengers sustained lacerations to the hands while attempting to open the doors. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technicians stated that the door handles would have to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Takata recallthe back hatch door with not go up automatically it seems to have the shock the automatically opens the door somthing seems to have follen off or brokeonly works manually

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the automatic liftgate was opened and then abruptly released, striking the contact abruptly on the head. The contact sustained a concussion from the force of the impact. The contact stated that the rear liftgate had only been opened three times since purchasing the vehicle and it was found that one of the support struts had detached from the liftgate. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Sharp cracks appearing in dash next to passenger air bag and left rear top of the instrument panel.

Takata recall, cracks in the dash that run to the air bags on the dash. The center speaker is mounted to the plastic dash and move with the road vibration which breaks the dash along with the uv radiation that weakens the plastic.. The dash could splinter in a crash and wound or kill a passenger.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the driver and passenger's side dashboard exhibited several cracks near the air bags. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was advised that the entire dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000 and the current mileage was 67,000.

Interior dashboard. Cracked in two places 1.) top left corner of passenger airbag panel2.) center of gauge dome starting form vent vanes cracked up to nearly top of the gauge dome.this condition started 2018 and has progressively worsened in length. The vehicle has been garage kept its entire ownership. I researched and found that many other owners are e experiencing this same cracking issues in the same location.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed multiple fractures across the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 170,000.

The dashboard has cracked in 2 places, 1 in front of the drivers seat, and the other in front of the passenger seat by the airbag. It was already cracked before i bought the vehicle used, but has gotten worse living on a dirt road.

Dashboard structural failure:vehicle dashboard is suffering from excessive structural failure leading to large lose pieces of plastic than can 1) interfere with airbag deployment, 2) fall off and interfere with brakes and accelerator pedals, 3) cause death and dismemberment in an accident due to excessive cracking and breakage under normal use conditions.this effects all 2007-2014 chevrolet and gmc light-duty trucks.so literally tens of millions of vehicles.gm has not issued a recall for this structural defect.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the vehicle had two separate cracks on the dashboard. One crack was located on the passenger side near the air bag and the other one was located on the hump above the instrument panel. The cracks progressed until the entire dashboard collapsed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was unavailable.

Dashboard cracked

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While parked and/or driving at any speed, the chrome finish on all four of the interior door handles flaked and the factory edging was extremely rough. The contact's hand had been cut on the door handle due to the rough edging. In addition, the dashboard cracked and the plastic near the defroster had crumbled completely. The vehicle was driven to the dealer, but was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the driver's side dashboard exhibited several cracks near the speedometer gauge. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact noticed that the dashboard was cracked and the air bags were exposed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 131,000.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that there was a crack in the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that there was a crack in the dashboard. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 114,000.

We are making payments on this vehicle from tri-united in lubbock tx. All the engine lights are on and the air bags are missing this vehicle body appears to be wrecked the hood isn't sitting right. The dealership even asked if we could have the vehicle inspected in which it failed the first inspection.

Cracked dash

Dash has over 6 cracks and pieces broken off the dash itself.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 119,000.updated 03/18/14*lj

Two stress fractures occurred in dashboard.one above the instrument panel and one adjacent to passenger airbag.crack above passenger airbag could interfere and puncture airbag during crash operation.crack above instrument panel is quite large and could catastrophically fail during a crash.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the dashboard fractured on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that there was an issue with the dashboard in the vehicle's year, make, and model; however, there was no recall to address the failure and the dashboard would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unknown. Updated 04/05/17*lj

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked near the driver side air bag. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.updated 02/12/16*lj updated 04/25/18jb*

Traveling approximately 60 mph on a partly sunny day, approximately 27 degrees outside with my heater on, my sunroof spontaneously shattered with a sound similar to a gunshot.at that point, the glass did not fall but was cracked into thousands of pieces.later as i drove the glass began to fall apart.i was not following any vehicle and was not driving under a bridge or around any trees so there was nothing that could have struck my sunroof.the roadway was smooth and my sunroof has never sustained any damage in the past.

Dash cracked and broken. Worried about splintered pieces and speaker coming off in event of an accident.

Mechanic( ase certified) attemptedto replace front lower ball joints , stated frame was rusted to the point of he was unable to initiate the repair.

Cracks in dash around airbag will cause injury with deployment. Cracks on the dash will cause i just in accident.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While driving 20 mph, the dashboard fractured and all the warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Vin tool confirms parts not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 131,352.

Summary:2007 gmc yukon. Interior door handles. Chrome plating has separated from the top where handle is grabbed. Handles are razor sharp and care is needed when opening door otherwise injury can and has occurred. I kind of disregarded this, later we received a letter in the mail stating we should take it to a dealer for repair!! any how what i am extremely worried is with my new problem... In early february we arrrived from out of town, i was driving another car... I jumped in my yukon ready to take my kids to baseball practice i had just driven about 5 miles when my truck read reducing engine time and it would not let me accelarate above 20 or 30 miles dont remember was tooo scared... I managed to pull over and turned the car off and on again after a few of those i managed the courage to drive slowly back home... I waited for my husband to come home asked him to take my car for a drive and magically it started just fine, after a few days, the same thing happen but now this time it shut off and while i was dropping my kids off at school right in front , where there are kids crossing and cars going!! could have cause a serious injury. Had a mechanic look at it, said he needed to clean sum things said there are many people having these problems his buddy worked at coachella valley pontiac gmc and that dealers really dont know what the problems are... Worked fine for bout a month and this morning the samething happened only this time it didnt turn off it : reduced speed and i was not able to pull over as there was no room to so i managed to get to a stop sign when i got there and stopped my car started shaking i was so scared, i had no idea what to do turned the car of on of on... Nothing i managed to drive to a side of the road meanwhile my car is shaking like crazy... This needs to be fixed !! i think gmc needs to act now i m scared to drive my car, im even thinking of having it towed to gmc forrepair!!

Chrome on drivers door handle has sharp edges and will cut your hand.

I own a 2007 gmc yukon xl and the passenger and driver door chrome handle is peeling off and i got my finger cut as i tried to exit on the driver side door a couple of times . I just put tape around it but i think that it should be fixed it's a hazard and danger to have that happened.

Drivers side door handle chrome is peeling off and my wife sliced her finger on the interior door handle. This is a known issue as i had also cut my hand on my 2007 avalanche. Another issue on my yukon is that the dash has cracked for unknown reason around my airbag which could propose a serious issue since it surrounds the passenger airbag also similar to a 07 avalanche i have owned. If you google there are hundreds of owners with the same issues and nothing had been done about it.

The interior chrome handles are peeling, i have cut my fingers while exiting the vehicle. I am a little concerned that this will happen to my young children and require a trip to the doctors.

The interior, driver side door handle on my 2007 gmc yukon is defective.the chrome laminate that covers the plastic handle is peeling on the top seam of the handle causing sharp edges to be exposed to my hand every time i open the door.i have contacted the dealership and they are saying that the "special coverage recall" is only good for 100,000 miles.i have 118,000 miles on my yukon and the problem is just now surfacing.i have contacted gmc directly for a resolution, which has been escalated to the district specialist in the area.this poses a continual hazard to me, since i have already cut my hand once from the problem.the cut was minor, similar to a paper cut, but a cut nonetheless.i do not feel that the recall should be limited to vehicle owners with less than 100,000 miles that are experiencing this problem.

I have a 2007 gmc yukon and both inside door handles (front and passenger) have split at the upper seam of handle.this caused me to cut my hand on one occasion due to the driver side handle.i have since placed duct tape over both handles where the seams have split, so that nobody will get cut leaving the vehicle.vehicle is out of warranty, so i have not taken it to a dealer.

Last fall, 2010, i noticed that the interior chrome door handles were chipping.they chips were very sharp.i took it to the dealer they said that there was nothing they could except replace them at my expense.i was cut yesterday, 10/1/2011 on my handle.this is thenhtsa pe09044.

3 months after buying vehicle in sept of 2011.chrome door handles on passenger side are peeling and cracking and slicing fingers open when trying to open door.about 8 months ago, dashboard beginning to crack around passenger side air bag area.

Front passenger interior door handle pulled to open door)had the painted chrome finish peeling at the top seam of the handle.the peeling finishcut several passengers while opening the door.cuts were similar to a paper cut but more severe.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon.within the first week of purchasing the vehicle, the rear hatch light began illuminating.this caused the emergency lights to illuminate, the door ajar alarm to sound, and disabled all of the buttons on the remote and instrument panel.the vehicle had to be accessed manually.first, the computer codes were reset, but this did not correct the failure.the dealer stated that there was wiring failure and replaced the wiring; however, the failure continued.finally, the entire hatch was replaced and there had been no further occurrences.on november 6, 2007, the stable track was not driving properly and the driver's seat made a crunching noise whenever it was moved.the dealer cleared the electronic codes again and damaged the interior of the vehicle.on december 26, 2007, the hatch area was leaking and created puddles of water in the rear of the vehicle.the dealer stated that the seal was leaking and it was replaced and apoxied.the vehicle has to go back to the dealer because the seal has loosened.the current mileage was 13,380 and failure mileage was 459.

Rear hatch will not open.there is no manual way to open.if there was a accident and you needed to exit rear of suv you would not be able to get out as there is no manual way to open door.it is electronic and has stopped working.seems to be a common problem in all yukon's, tahoe's and escalades.there is not even a button from the exterior that you can push to open door.there is no way to open and gmc does not want to fix unless you pay the $100.00 to look at it then another $500.00 to fix,i really think this is a safety issue. It is a bad design not having any manual way to open rear hatch on a suv.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that while closing the back-hatch door it closed on her daughter's hand. There was no manual way to reopen the hatch door. The door operates electronically. It took 15 seconds for the door to reopen. The contact's daughter was currently just a year old and the top layer of the skin was torn off the infant daughter's knuckles. Medical attention was not immediately required but the contact will monitor the situation and take the daughter in if necessary. The dealer and manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 168,000.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 21v050000 (air bags). The contact stated that there was a crack on the driverā€™s side dashboard. There was no impact to the dashboard that could have caused the crack. The dealer was made aware of the recall and failure but informed the contact that while performing the air bag recall repair, there could be additional cracks to the dashboard and the manufacturer would not be responsible for the cost to replace the dashboard. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Two cracks on front dashboard at approximately 7 years. A mechanic had to remove the dash for a repair and the small existing crack grew into a jagged ten inch crack up onto the dash cowling.

Mechanic( ase certified) attemptedto replace front lower ball joints , stated frame was rusted to the point of he was unable to initiate the repair.

Vehicle is not safe

The gmc continues to randomly not start or deactivate the stabilitrack, anti-lock brakes were disabled, and the check engine light are all on. This problem happens almost every day and the dealer is unable to identify the source of the problem after several attempts.

I bought a 2007 yukon and there is a vibration when driving at highway speeds. I changed the tires at the dealer 14 times and i also changed the rims with no results. The dealer serviced the car but the vibration remains.

I have a vehicle with a ride package called premium smooth ride with a gm factory code "zw7".both gm and gm dealerships have a catalog issue that resulted in me buying an incorrect and dangerous rear shock.i have worked for 6 months to resolve the issue and have a vehicle dangerous to drive as the replacement part referred by gm is incorrect.the oem manufacturer (sachs) in france has concurred that gm is at fault.gm is having consumers put on a factory replacement part incorrect for vehicle and will not allow me to speak with anyone within gm to resolve the matter.i have it well documented and it has also been an issued for yukon owners with the "premium smooth ride" option.sachs in france provided gm with a factory shock with "nivomat" technology that shared the ride load with the rear springs.sachs has since discontinued the product and as such no replacement part can be bought.a change of both the springs and shocks must be done and gm refuses to acknowledge the requirement or offer a solution.instead they send drivers down the road with a dangerous ride set up. When we drove our vehicle after using the gm recommended shocks, it rode very rough and when we got up to speed it actually bounced around on the highway and was difficult to keep on the road.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph the contact heard a grinding noise near the front driver side tire. The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic who stated that a broken wheel bearing and hub cap caused the noise. The mechanic replaced the wheel bearing and the hub cap. The mechanic didn't see any damage that could have caused the wheel bearing to malfunction. The failure mileage was 44,000. Updated 01/12/11*lj

Vehicle ignition randomly doesn't start and/or vehicle drive strange with traction control and or transmission acting weird.after 5-10 min, i turn off vehicle and restart and it operates normally again.dealer has seen on multiple occasions and can not explain the problem.

The dash on my 2007 yukon slt has a crack that has progressively gotten worse right above my driver side airbag.

My dash has cracked and is causing my passage air bag to be lifted up. Very concerned that my passage will be injured in case of an accident. Another crack on drivers side.

Multiple cracks throughout instrument panel around airbag and directly over steering wheel. Possibility of pieces becoming a projectile if airbag deploys.

The dash cracked in multiple places including around the airbag, over the steering wheel, around the vent and multiple other areas. I had this repaired because i was concerned with the safety. The repair cost $385.

Takata recall, cracks in the dash that run to the air bags on the dash. The center speaker is mounted to the plastic dash and move with the road vibration which breaks the dash along with the uv radiation that weakens the plastic.. The dash could splinter in a crash and wound or kill a passenger.

The dash has completely cracked for a second time along the drivers side and around the airbag.this is a original gm $380 dash that was put in and has cracked again.it is unsafe if the airbag deploys it will push the broken plastic into the passenger causing bodily injury.

I noticed a small crack in the dash just above the passenger side vent about 2 years ago and has progressively grown into the entire dash being cracked with different cracks going in different directions. I'm concerned that this might affect the airbags causing them to accidentally deploy. I've called gmc and they have no complaint bulletins on this issue. I've called a gmc service dealer and have been told the repair/replacement for this would cost me in excess of $900.

The dash busted around the airbag and has also cracked on the driver's side which is probably caused by the airbag. I have had this car for 5 years and still can't get the airbags replaced?????

Cracked dash by the passenger airbag, i also received a notification of a recall for airbags and a promise to notify when parts are available, i complained to gm and they responded that they will not replace cracked dash , i am a deployed military servicemember and do not have time for corporate greed, let gm know i will never buy any of their products again unless they can prove to me that their cars are safe!

My front dashboard is cracking in 2 places on both the passenger and drivers side. First noticed while driving on the highway.

The dash board has a large crack that stretchs from the passenger air bag to the drivers side.i'm concerned that this can impact the function of the air bag system or cause harm to the passenger in the event of an accident.

Dash around airbag cracked and presents safety hazard from plastic shrapnel if airbag deploys also dash cracks around instrument panel can cause shrapnel to be launched into occupants causing bodily harm. Cracks happen while vehicle stationary

This is another incident that occurred the same week as my last complaint. While driving home from lunch i slowed the vehicle as i was going down a hill, this did not require any use of the accelerator pedal.

Dash cracking above instrument panel and around passenger airbag.if airbag were to be deployed sharp plastic could inhibit airbag or could injure passenger this is a very widespread issue in all yukon, tahoe, suburban, silverado and sierra trucks of the 07-12 model years.

Dashboard cracking from driver side to air bag on passenger side could deflate air bag if deployed dealer and general motors offered no help and they will repair for $1050.00

Dashboard has been cracked since i bought it used (was only 2-3 years old at the time); ditto regarding door handles--the silverish cover has been peeled back since i bought it, occasionally causing cuts to hands on driver and passenger side when opening the door.

Major cracking in dashboard -- large crack front to back over instrument cluster;other serious cracks in middle rear of dash;more around passenger airbag cover.this dashboard is completely defective and must be made of cheap plastic... As an unintended consequence, my passenger airbag compartment is now surrounded by loose pieces of plastic shrapnel... Not safe.i have read online and become aware that this is a widely known common problem on these gm dashboards... Please don't wait for casualty statistics to kick in... This is a common sense issue that is clearly defective and gm should be made to recall these unsafe dashboards before the personal injury statistics build up.

I am writing to inform a safety hazard issue with my 2007 gmc, yukon. Over the past couple of years a crack has formed over the meter combo. Since that crack has formed, it has caused a piece of the dash to break out. The cracks in dash have also caused vibration of the dash and has caused two other cracks in the dash to appear around the passenger airbag. I am concerned in the event that an accident does occur that the dash will crumble/break in the driver/passenger face. This could cause very life threatening injuries. Please consider reporting this to gmc dealers for further investigation of these dashes and consider a recall.

Takata recall and dashboard cracked in many places and still developing new cracks. Can not find a dashboard replacement at all in the color needed.we received a notice dated july 2016 for airbag recall but not to bring it in until further notice. Still waiting.also the dash is just getting more and more cracks even with a dashboard velour cover. Please help us.

The dash right above the passenger side airbag has cracked and now the dash right above the instrument panel on the driver side is cracking and is quite large there has not been a wreck or any kind of damage it is cracking completely on its own

Front dashboard cracks by the windshield and air bags.

Cracked dash driver door lock.

Dashboard cracked all over, passenger side near air bag and driver's console.

Two cracks on front dashboard at approximately 7 years. A mechanic had to remove the dash for a repair and the small existing crack grew into a jagged ten inch crack up onto the dash cowling.

Cracked dashboard on driver and passenger side.could not get help from gmc suv has been garaged kept. It has 101,000 miles.

Dash cracked and broken. Worried about splintered pieces and speaker coming off in event of an accident.

Dashboard is cracked in two different locations which is not due to the age of the vehicle. I am among 6,172 members of a group with the exact same problem with the exact same crack in the exact same locations on our dashes. Many people have addressed this with gmc only to be turned away. Here is the link to this group. This will include all photos and correspondence with gmc. Please investigate. Https://www.facebook.com/groups/gmdashcrack/?fref=nf

Cracked dash above instrument cluster and passenger airbag could potentially injure by airbag deploying and sending plastic shrapnel everywhere.

The security systemengages while driving and the vehicle locks all doors and prevents the windows from opening dash stops workingcant tell how fast your going and when you stop the vehicle and shut it off none of the electric locks work or the fob you have to unlock the vehicle manually to get out.

The front door handles inside are both peeling and the peeling is sharp metal and on numerous times have caused cuts on the hands of the driver and passenger.

While driving heard a snapping sound that came from the windshield area, at first thought it was road debris that hit the windshield but there was no visible damage. Upon returning home i did a more through inspection to find a dash board crack over the passenger side airbag.

Dashboards has cracking and this happened in several spots 4 years ago but just now reporting the issue

The dash is cracked near the airbag and i am concerned for the safety of my passengers if an accident were to occur.

Gmc cracked dash. I had to pay 700$ to get fixed. Now the upper part of dash cracking

Takata recall, my dashboard on my 2007 gmc yukon is cracked all over and i can literally lift parts up and see under it. We bought the vehicle like this from the used car dealer. So the date it happened in unkown but am wanting to know what i can do about this.

Dash cover cracks and eventually disintegrated. All dealers know about this problem. The dash pieces themselves can become projectiles in an accident. This vehicle has been parked under a car port most of the time we have owned it.

The dash is cracked which could be very dangerous if the airbags ever deployed as chards of plastic could injure the driver and front passenger.

Dashboard crack behind steering wheel, at bottom/base of the hump. Crack extends from seam toward driver. This vehicle is parked every day and night in our garage.

The dashboard developed a crack just above the passenger side airbag. What effect this will have should airbag deploy is unknown.`

Dash cracking in around the passenger side airbag area, presenting potential danger if the airbag deploys. Dash also cracking on the driver's side. These cracks hinder the overall strength and cosmetics of dash along with decrease the overall value of said vehicle.

Dash is cracked above the passenger side air bag as well as driver side above dash cluster, potentially causing high velocity projectiles in the event of airbag deployment. Vehicle was stationary when cracks occurred.

Cracks in dash around airbag will cause injury with deployment. Cracks on the dash will cause i just in accident.

I heard many horror stories of these trucks and how they tend to have a lot of problems. One being the cracking dashes on this body style vehicle. Well after much thought into the matter i chose to purchase a tahoe / yukon. I searched for a couple of weeks going to many dealerships and looking at many used trucks hunting for one without an existing cracked dash. Every single tahoe / yukon i looked at on the lots had cracked dashesuntil i found my truck that i purchased without a cracked dash. I hopped on it and bought it that day. Within 6 months my dash had the notorious air bag crack that all these truck get i went to a dealerwhen it happened and was turned away because my truck was out of warranty and they told me i would have to purchase a new one for full price. After leaving very angry i dealt with the issue. A year or so later my dash has cracked behind the guage bezel. This truck is barely driven and sits under cover not in direct light with only 58,000 miles and is falling apart. Chevy has completely turned their back on these problems and it is an occurrence in 99% of these vehicles. They have chosen to ignore the issue and send customers to fend for themselves and it isn't an issue that we have caused. It's a manufacture defect and they refuse to acknowledge it. You can google 2007+ tahoe yukon dash crack and get flooded with thousands of articles and people with the same issue and chevy has done nothing about it. There is facebook pages setup for this issue also that's how big of an issue it is. I am trying to get these issues fixed for the thousands of people with this problem and we can't get any help. If you look into this i promise you will be amazed at how many people are fighting this problem. Please help us as we feel that our safety is not in gms best interest.

Cracked dashboard in two places above instrument panel.

The dash board cracked, couple weeks later another crack. Now my whole dash has cracks

This dashboard is literally falling apart on a daily basis.i keep windshield coverings on the windhsield when in the sun.the design is terrible, and the plastic (if you want to call it that) is very brittle almost if it's made of some sort of plant based material.this is a safety hazard as the pieces that are coming off are sharp, and large.there is also an airbag recall to be completed in which they will absolutely add to the damage of my dash.gm as a company is cowardly in hiding from this issue.you know this should be a recall, and is costing your customers a lot of unnecessary funding to fix an issue that you absolutely are responsible for.do the right thing.we pay your salaries.

I have 2 separate cracks on my dash, one is located on the passenger side near the airbag, the other one is located on the hump above the instrument panel. The cracks keep getting longer, my dash rattles, it is very noticeable and gm has yet to issue a recall for this problem. I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket for something i didn't cause to happen. I'm beyond frustrated with this situation.

During normal use on opening the rear lift door open and 1/3 of the way, it stopped and slammed very hard that the window above latch released and popped open.i've checked all the security setting but to date, the door does not open pass 1/3 of the way.luckily there were no fingers anywhere around the door.this could potentially cause serious injury if one is not expecting the door will slam shut.

Takata air bag has been reported to dealer, no action taken to date. Cracked dash at passenger airbag and at driver dash instrumentation. Dealer made aware, no repair offered.

Cracked dash

"takata recall"the speed control stops working - light comes on for speed control on steering wheel but speed control will not work it was a gradual thing -then stopped for no reason

The security systemengages while driving and the vehicle locks all doors and prevents the windows from opening dash stops workingcant tell how fast your going and when you stop the vehicle and shut it off none of the electric locks work or the fob you have to unlock the vehicle manually to get out.

Was driving down the freeway and the vehicle warning bell rung.on the vehicle heads up display read.traction control, stability control and reduced engine power.the vehicle immediatly started shutting down with no power.this caused a near miss from behind from a tractor trailer vehicle.

Takata recallthe back hatch door with not go up automatically it seems to have the shock the automatically opens the door somthing seems to have follen off or brokeonly works manually

Dt*: at time when cruise at constant speeds, then pressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not accelerate right away, it would take a few seconds.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the rear door opened independently while driving. In addition, the windows failed to open and close and the navigational system failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 219,000.

As i was walking to my truck, i hit the button (as i have always done) to unlock the door, the passenger side airbag exploded and crashed the windshield

2007 gmc yukon.consumer writes in regards to issues with the rear window defroster.the consumer stated the rear defroster tabs would detach from the window every winter. The consumer went to the dealer several times, to have the issue fixed. The first time, they soldered the terminal back on at a cost of $ 29.95. The second time it happened they replaced the entire rear window because it couldn't be soldered back on. The third time, they replaced the entire window again. The dealer the sent the consumer to a glass company, where they epoxyed the tabs back onto the window. However, within a week the tabs fell off again.another local glass company was recommended and that company re-attached the tabs, and shortly thereafter, the tabs fell off again.

The back passenger windows come forward so that there is a gap in the back of the windows. Where any small child can put their fingers in there, which is what happen to my daughter. She had her fingers in the window and it was rolled up and the window amputated her left middle finger tip almost completely off from behind the nail bed. Hanging on only by a piece of skin. She is two, they tried to stitch it back on to no avail because is had severed through so much of her finger. This should not happen will so many features made readily available.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While traveling 25 mph, thecontact noticed a loud explosion from outside of the vehicle. He found that the passenger side mirror had fractured from the vehicle. The mirror was replaced by an authorized dealer. The failure recurred within six months while the contact was driving 5 mph. The dealer replaced the mirror a second time. The contact took the vehicle to a local repair facility for a second opinion where he was informed that the failure had occurred internally. The failure mileage was 29,000 and the current mileage was 35,000.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. While drivingapproximately 45 mph the contact noticed the drivers side tire had blown out. The contact replaced the tire with the spare and drove the vehicle toa tire shop. The mechanic stated the electrolysis inside of the wheel caused damage to the tire. The front passenger side tire also blew out and was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated this was known problem but did not offer assistance. The contact had the driver and passenger side front wheel reconditioned. The mechanic advised the failure would occur again because the wheel was defective. The drivers side tire was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
