I'm having a problem with my right front tire hub being damaged noticed a recall however when i looked at my vin number it did not come up. Can someone please look into this as it is very costly for me to fix and i'm not the original owner so therefore i would like to find out if this hub problem with axel was ever fixed i also had a problem with the gas line in the past and noticed there is a recall for that which i did not have listed under my vin number either can someone please write me back and let me know if this is something that would be covered. My tire is in the midst of falling off i continuously get a notice to check tire sensor in addition i have had several electrical issues including the fan not working inside the vehicle to turn on the heat or air conditioner
My fatherwas driving from dialysis on the decline of a bridge when he passed out behind the wheel. He was wearing his seatbelt, and the vehicle rested after hiting a tree. The airbags did not deploy. I have contacted gmc and there is an investigation pending, they have sent a representaive to inspect the vehicle and i am awaiting the outcome. I have contacted copart and had the vehicle placed on hold to allow nhtsa the opportunity to do the same, if you choose. 5017 duncan road, punta gorda, fl (941) 505-9700. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Airbag failed function due to lack ofinflator performance during my husbands head-on crash and he suffered collar bone and rib fractures, massive head trauma resulting in a crainiotomy, brain damage and death one month later. The vehicle was travelling at 45mph on a paved two lane street.
The contact owns a 2006 gmc yukon. The contact stated that the air conditioner in the front of the vehicle was not operable. The vehicle would not power off even when shifted in the off position. The vehicle's battery must be disconnected to power off the vehicle. The contact stated that the failures were intermittent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the blower motor was defective and needed to be replaced. An attempt to repair the vehicle was made; however, the technician informed the contact that the blower motor had been discontinued and that there was an updated model. The good chevrolet dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the special coverage adjustment for the hvac. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in the special coverage adjustment and referred to contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The rear liftgate will not unlock or open & rear liftgate window will not unlock or open.this is a significant safety hazard for persons traveling in vehicle, as there would not be any means to exit the rear of the vehicle via the rear liftgate or rear liftgate window in an emergency (especially for my children who sit in the 3rd row of seats)all 4 standard doors still lock/unlock both manually and with the remote clicker, however, the rear liftgate no longer unlocks or opens manually or with the remote clicker. This design defect of the rear liftgate and rear liftgate window on the gmc yukon is a serious hazard to the safety of passengers. Now that the rear liftgate and rear liftgate window is "frozen" in the locked position, there would be no way to exit the interior of the vehicle from the rear liftgate or rear liftgate window since there are no manual door handles or levers to open the rearliftgate or its window from the interior or exterior of the vehicle. Per the mechanical diagnosis, the poor design of the rear liftgate 'housing box' surrounding the liftgate cable mechanism overheats and has caused the 'housing box' and cable mechanism to melt, thus rendering the rear liftgate and rear liftgate window non-operational. Without this functioning correctly, there is no means to electronically or manually unlock or open the rear liftgate or rear liftgate window, thus causing a significant safety hazard to passengers traveling in vehicle.
Oil sending unit... Replaced 3 times since i've owned the truck.
My vehicle was in motion driving on the freeway at 70 mph when all of the sudden my car lost power to 30 mph all the way down to 5 mph.i pressed on the accelerator trying to gain speed without success the car did notaccelerate more than 30 mph, no matter how much i pressed on the accelerator. When i looked down at the dashboard i saw two warning lights go off "stability sys disabled" followed by "reduced engine power" luckily i was able to move to safety. The road was dry and no bumps to disable stability. The traction control in this vehicle is located far from my steering wheel so i know i did not accidently hit the traction control by accident. After i was able to pull over i was advised to hit the traction control button to see if that would fix the error in the dash. That did not work. I immediately took it to the dealer concern for my safety and that of my family. The dealer has had my for several days returned my car back once stating that it was due to master air flow sensor along with the air filter once those parts were replaced i picked up my car as soon as i picked up the car and drove it around the corner i experienced the same issue. I drove it back to the dealer at 5 mph as i was not able to go any faster no mater how much i pressed on the accelerator. 2nd time the car was returned to me i was told it was just the butterfly in the throttle body and that it was replaced for a new one. I was driving away and got just a little farther than the first time when i got the same error message again i drove it back to the dealer and they told me it was a faulty throttle body they replaced that but its still having issues. I believe this to be a safety hazard while driving i want this noted in case there is a major accident with fatalities.
The first time this happened i was driving at approx. 45 mph on secondary road when all lights dimmed and the vehicle power went down to almost nothing.the power steering and brakes went out and i had to pull off of the highway.i turned the ignition off and waited a few minutes, then re-started which seemed to have re-set things.it ran ok to my destination.but since then (a year or so) it bogs down when starting out from idle such as a traffic light, and the lights dim.at the same time, it makes a grinding sound as if from the brakes and the brake peddle becomes stiff as though it is trying to offset my braking.when this happens the stability indicator states "traction active".once the vehicle is moving again, it will go off and the vehicle will act normally.i discovered that manually over-riding the traction (shutting it off), it eliminates the hesitation.but it still makes the grinding/groaning sound along with the brake issue.once is gets up to speed, everything is fine.all of this is just on starting out after a stop.we have heard others that have the same problem, but have not been able to get it resolved.it appears to be a common problem, but no recalls have been issues to my knowledge.it is a real danger when trying to start onto a highway or intersection.
When i am starting out or turning a corner the vehicle will intermittently bog down. This has been going on for about 5-6 years. I had taken it to a dealership in columbus ohio when it first happened and they told me it was a problem in the steering column but not covered under warranty or recall. It was going to cost me $300 to have fixed. This sounds very similar to the two complaints made 1/11/2010 nhtsa id#10299018 and 9/21/2015 nhtsa id#10766680. This has something to do with the stabilitrak system. This is a very dangerous situation and should have been fixed by a dealership no questions asked.i just disconnect it at the dash and put up with the yellow warning light. For a gm vehicle that listed for $58,735 11 years ago i am very disappointed with gm. The sunroof has not worked for years ( a $1,000 fix item) replaced the fan blower motor (somewhere around $400+) and i only have 109,000 miles on it. The noted items occurring in the 50-75,000 mile range. I can see why honda, acura, toyota and lexus have such a great following. They lead and i will follow with my next vehicle.
In december 2010 the camshaft in the 5.3l gm engine reportedly delaminated causing one or more lifters to gall and fail requiring a new engine.i purchased a factory 5.3l engine from a gm dealer and had that installed by a certified mechanic with the assurance of a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty.28 august my wife told me the engine was noisy.on starting the engine it was obvious that oil was not pumping through the lifters.i took the truck to the dealer on the 29th for diagnosis.on 30 august they concluded that the engine needed to be replaced.subsequent investigation confirmed that the engine was shipped with faulty castech heads that caused coolant to seep into the oil.the engine was replaced under warranty.i would like, if it is the job of the nhtsa, to have the 5.3l engine recalled.

2006 yukon makes a clunking noise when turning the wheel, vibration is also noticed when driving 65 mph.a month after the vehicle was purchased the consumer started to noticed noises coming from the front end.the vehicle was taken to service dealer who determined that the upper and lower control arms needed to be replaced.after repairs of the control arm the vehicle started to vibrate.the vehicle was returned and they replaced the right front tire which they claimed was defective from the factory.one week later the consumer noticed a clunking noise in the front end.the vehicle was returned to the dealer who advised that the right rear upper and lower control arm were bad from the factory.the parts were ordered and replaced.when the vehicle was at the dealer being serviced the technician didn't cover the seat while working and got oil on the seat and steering wheel.the dealer replaced the entire seat with a seat on their lot.the consumer never authorized them to do that.now the seat is making a clunking noise.the vehicle was returned to the dealer who claimed that the seat is broken and that all the 2006 yukon denali seat are broken.the sear was taken apart and longer bolts were used to secured the seat.the seat is still broken.the dealer also replaced the steering wheel which is now making noise.the dealer said that the steering box needed to be replaced but that the replacement is noisier than the original.the dash has begun to peel. The dealer indicated that all yukon denali dashes are peeling.the dash was replaced with a new one.the engine sounds as is a lifter is off.the vehicle pulls to the left.
After filling my gas tank completely on my 2006 yukon, the fuel gauge registers empty and the low fuel light comes on.this also happens when my gas tank gets below a half tank. This is an erratic problem causing concern over the correct level of fuel in my vehicle.my parents 2008 trailblazer also has the same exact problem.

Bonddogbonddogaugust 2006 edited june 2015 in gmci purchased my 2006 yukon last september 2005. I now have 24,000 miles on it. Over the last month i have had it into the dealer three times for the same problem. The problem is that while driving the vehicle it will suddenly lose almost all power. The information center will display the messages: "stability control disabled", "engine power reduced". And the vehicle will not go over 20 mph on a level surface and bearly 3 mph up a moderately steep hill. Each time i have had it into the dealer for repair they have beeen stumped by what the cause of the problem is. They said that gm/gmc told them that "gm is aware of the problem but does not have a fix for it at this time". How can a manufacturer sell a vehicle that has a defect and not have a fix for it? when the power goes out in a busy intersection or on a highway this is a major safety issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem.thanks, [xxx]parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I locked the car and heard the beep confirming that all doors are locked but found that the back door is still opened. Later i discovered that the center lock actuator is not operating at all.
The contact owns a 2006 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the vehicle blower motor failed. The blower motor caused the windshield not to be able to defrost and the heather to fail. In addition, the rear door lock failed and could not be opened or locked/unlocked manually or when using the electronic key remote. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 41,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
My 22 month old grandson was sitting in my 2006 gmc yukon pretending to drive. My vehicle was not running the keys were in the vehicle the radio was playing, i was standing 3 feet from the vehicle with my back to it. I heard the transmission shift. I turned to see the vehicle rolling down the driveway. Luckily i have a short driveway and live on a cul-de-sac. By the time i caught the vehicle and pushed the e brake to stop it i was at the end of my drive way. I thought i had to put my foot on the brake to take the vehicle out of park and into gear or neutral.which is true unless the key is put into acc mode. I brought this to the dealer and the service writer and gm certified mechanic didn't know that if a vehicles key was in acc modeanyone can shift the gears around. Even my 22 month old grand son a safety feature for gm vehicles is a person has to step on the brake to take the vehicle out of park. The service writer and mechanic checked a few other vehicle around the shop and found this to work on everyone they tried. So much for the safety feature.

I have constantly had to replace my back brakes and rotors due to a insufficient aluminum disc that gmc installed i have receipts to prove how many back brakes in rotors i have had to replace. Thank god i was on the left side of the highway my six children and i almost lost are life the brakes went out we had to veer off into the terrain just to come to a stop in the mean time my tire popped from all the excitement and me and my kids was stuck on a major highway for 6 hours before we was towed in brought to safety. I am asking for this disc problem be repaired immediately for my family safety.
It happened repeatedly now while driving on freeway the steering would get sloppy at random moments and keeping the vehicle in its lane becomes difficult. I replaced tie rods inner & outer, upper/lower ball joints pitman arm and idler, swaybar links shocks/struts. I even had two different mechanics look at the steering components. Both said everything is in good shape. This only happens at freeway speeds. I bought this truck a month ago
I just bought this vehicle.steering hesitation during low speed turning. Rpm didn't change the hesitation. I had the same problems with the police patrol vehicles at work. All the power steering pumps were changed to correct this hesitation. This should be a recall for all affected vehicles.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc yukon. While accelerating from a stop light, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The traction active warning indicator illuminated. Also, when making turns, the steering wheel made an abnormal noise. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 101,000.

In a camping situation we could only exit from the rear hatch and it could not be opened from the inside. Also, when attempting to unlock the mechanism would not unlock the hatch. This was a very unsafe scenario - locked in the car with no door exit. Finally, climbed from the window.once home we realized how this was such a bad issue so we did research. Apparently since 2006 all suburban, yukons, and denalis have this recurring issue compounding the already unsafe design of not being able to open rear hatch from the interior. There are thousands of owners that have experienced this issue. It is a design flaw along with a poorly functioning locking mechanism.this will end up in a future fatality. It needs to be recalled immediately.there are homemade fixes on the internet that may also cause new issues. Here is a link of just one:http://www.chefseattle.com/blog/site-news/suburban-rear-liftgate-wont-unlock-how-to-fix/please deal with gm quickly and get this resolved.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Broken, snapped off exhaust manifold bolts.cause lean condition, and service engine soon light to come on.
Known problem, brake failure due to rusted brake lines. Nearly had a rear emd collision when they failed trying to stop at 50 mph. A large truck was disabled in the middle of the road. I swerved into the left lane, since i couldn stop.
The rear tailgate actuator quit working.the remote nor the key would unlock the rear tailgate.this quit working with no warning and no prior issues.also the remote controls have had to be re-keyed many times.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and was the actuator originally replaced under warranty.i received a call from the dealer the next day stating the service adviser "made a mistake" and the $495.00 was in fact not under warranty.this would indeed have led to very an unfortunate ending had i been driving and/or with passengers and an incident occurred.now i read that many other gmc owners have been experiencing the same for months.
