The dash board on my 2007 gmc yukon denali is cracked right above the air bag on the passenger side and above the instrument panel on the driver side. I feel that if the air bag was to deploy on the passenger side with could be a major safety issue due to the fact the plastic pieces from dashboard could break loose while air bag explodes and cause more injury to the passengers of the vehicle. I feel this need to be a safety recall from gm. The vehicle is operational and the cracks have happened over time.

Coleman,i was originally assured that my yukon-xl did not contain a takata air bag.a subsequent recall identified my vehicle as containing the defective air bag and i asked for it to be replaced.the service department representative told me that replacement air bags are not available and i would be contacted when it comes available.i have taken the vehicle back for service and again i am being told that the air bag is not available.i would like the air bag removed while we wait for a replacement.the idea of an exploding air bag spraying shrapnel in the vehicle cabin is incredibly disturbing.i understand that drivers have been blinded and killed by this shrapnel.having no air bag is safer than sitting in front of a claymore mine! please contact me at your earliest convenience to schedule removal and then eventual replacement of this airbag.sincerely,[xxx]cc nhtsainformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Airbags need to be updated due to the takata flaws
While i was driving the stabilitrak off light flashed on the dashboard, including the traction control off. This has shut down my car on the highway several times since 2016. When i took it to the dealership, it would reset itself and the codes would go away temporarily. The dealership recommended to change the engine control module and cables. I had to get towed off the highway as this happens so randomly. The repair shop says that it is a mystery to them as they have called their gmc specialty technicians for advice. Finally, i went online and started a forum to see if anyone else is having these issues that no one can seem to fix.this is a known issue several similar stories 'car forums/ gmc/ gmc envoy xl". I am surprised this is not a recall and should be immediately. Changed sensors on tires that weren't the issue since the indicator light still comes on. I have pictures and videos of the indicator lights flashing and the car shutting off. I am not able to drive my truck as soon as it is turned on all othe lights are flashing stability link/ engine/ airbag/ brakes. It is ridiculous can someone please contact me. This problem is not only with me but several other who has done nothing wrong.

The dashes of all gm trucks and suvs are cracking, badly. They're designed poorly and crack right around the passenger airbag deployment section. In the event of air bag deployment, it will send jagged plastic shards towards the occupants. This is completely unsafe and a serious hazard but gm refuses to correct the issue even though it has been acknowledged, hence i am filing this complaint. Simply google gm cracked dash and enjoy all the posts and videos from frustrated americans. Please help. Thank you.

Iive had this recall for my 2007 gmc yukon for the airbag. They stated there is new remedy right now. Its been at least 5 years. Its for the takata air bag inflators. Can you help me out. I have a very hard time why they dont have a fix yet. They are just screwing around thryingto save money.
Have been waiting for over 2 years to have my "killer" takata airbag replaced....
There has been a recall on the takata airbag system on my vehicle which effects the systems ability to safely deploy. This in turn limits my ability to safely drive the vehicle without fear of serious bodily injury or death. To date, gm still has no permanent fix for the problem. This puts more and more people at risk on a daily basis. Gm has an obligation to provide all owners a safe mode of transportation. Anything less, to include disregarding a safety recall, should be considered negligence on gms part. Moreover, they have had numerous years to develop a temporary and/or permanent fix and so far have failed to do so. Therefore, in the interest of safety, i ask that you direct gm to provide a way to safely eliminate the threat from the takata airbag system.
Was driving and stabilization got turned turned off. The engine power got reduced. Decreasing the car's power dramatically then eventually not drivable. This is very very dangerous because was driving on the freeway. I was fortunate enough to make a smooth lane change to the side to stop the car. But if i couldn't and there was a lot of cars, this would of caused a massive accident. I feel from my research, gmc should be responsible and fix this! very angry because it had happened twice now!!!

However, on my last trip i had to get towed back to my home on 09/01/20 for the same reason as i was stranded on a highway on the way to a funeral for a family friend.this is so dangerous.i can't let my wife or kids use the vehicle because this happens so randomly.the repair shop says that it is a mystery to them as they have called their gmc specialty technicians for advice.my car is currently at the dealership again for the past two weeks as they try to find a solution.i just bought this car 3 months ago and this is upsetting.i finally went online to see if i could possible find a fix to recommend and found that this is a known issue i found similar stories on this website "car forums/ gmc/ gmc envoy xl" .i am surprised this not a recall.i have paid over $1,500 in repairs.changed sensors on tires that suspect weren't the issue since the indicator light still comes on.i work for state farm insurance and i am aware of the dangers of having hazardous cars on the road.i also work closely with the institutes of highway saftey and they recommended that i log this complaint.here is my email address and phone number.[xxx].how can i get this logged as a recall and get my money back for repairs or the price of the vehicle, if gmc can't guarantee a repair?i have attached the cable and engine control module repair invoices that verify the complaint.i have pictures and videos of the indicator lights flashing and the car shutting off.parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc

While picking up my children from school the engine started backfiring, pulled the car over and put into park idle completely unstable, traction control service light came on engine light came on. Hard shift on transmission. Totally disappointed. Took it to the dealership for a diagnosis they say the lifters are bad and are no longer covered under warranty. Quoted me 2700.00 to replace 2 lifters so not acceptable this car does not even require a tune up until 100000 miles. Explained that to the service rep and he came back with a different quote telling me they would be willing to cover half. Really why would you offer to pay half right off the bat. I believe they are aware that there is a problem and trying to cover it up. My brother in law has a year newer model and just had the same issue repaired last month. They also paid half for his. How ironic is that. I dont believe the owners of these vehicle should be responsible for a faulty part on an engine gm should be! there are many post on the internet of other owners experiencing similar problem this motor needs to be recalled.
2007 yukon xl - traction control came on causing a reduction in power while traveling.this is a safety concern that should be addressed by general motors. This is a very serious safety issue that needs to be looked into, before somebody gets hurt or killed. Gm needs to recall their products that are involved.
When driving my 2007 gmc yukon xl, the stabiltrak off light comes on as well as the engine light and the car loses power.once this happens, the steering becomes difficult and braking is near impossible. It has happened several times now and most recently going down a steep hill with my three children in the car.i see there are several other complaints of this happening and feel this needs to be addressed by the manufacturer.

Persistent "ticking" lifter upon start of a cold engine. Slight loss of power until the engine finally warms and the ticking subsides. This problem occurs in both warm and cold weather but is worse during cold weather. When i asked the local gm dealer about a solution, they described a potential repair; a baffle may be installed in the oil pan to correct the problem of oil draining out of the top side of the motor. This indicates to me that gm has recognized a design flaw in this motor (the 5.3l with active fuel management and "flexfuel" option) though the did not offer to perform the repair for no cost.
Without warning, check engine light, reduced power and stability system shut down dash board engine light came on and stayed on. Had engine code scanned (p2138, p0102) still problem is not resolved. Dealer was no help just wanted to sell parts that may fix it.

Engine started by itself while car was in the garage.engine was racing.garage was extremely hot from engine running.key was in ignition but pulled out so the alarm wouldn't ding.doors were not locked (need to be locked for remote engine start to work).opened driver door, reached for keys and they fell out in my hand and the engine shut down by itself. We will take the car to pierce dodge/gm ronan, mt for evaluation.
Excessive oil leak went to the dealer numerous times, but they saidit was normal to leak a quart between oil changes. Had numerous tests done and they said it was still within standards. I am sorry but i don't think that a quart between oil changes is acceptable. Been ongoing for a while and i am sure it is leaking two quarts and there is a seal leaking near the oil pan. Pretty severe to have not been fixed by the dealer in the beginning. They want over $600 to repair the leak now.

Low oil light flashes. Oil is low a quart to a quart and a half every thousand miles. The oil pressure light states there is no oil pressure and to shut off the engine. Recently brought it to the dealer and now the dealer states it may be an internal engine problem. No definitive diagnosis and it is very costly.this problem has been ongoing for years....
I went to the mallyesterday and my car stared shaking the mall is 4 miles away from my house. I wasdriving through this intersection on the way home and i heard a horrible pop and saw something fly in the air and fall off of my car. It was the driver shaft and that part was laying in the road about 4 feet long and if someone would have ran over it i believe it could have caused injury to someone. This car has had so many issues. From tail lights going out at one time, the door knob falling off, the arm of the seat broke and now the head light just went out. Brake issues and i called gmc to tell them that this part fell off and they were not sure if it is under warranty. Nothing ever is but it is sad to spend this kind of money on a vehicle and have so many issues with it. We bought it brand new. I was shaking from this incident and had the car towed away.

Accelerating to pass a slow vehicle 40mpr in a 60mpr zone, while accelerating the powertrain failed no power in drive. While coasting on the shoulder i tried shifting to other gears - received power on second gear however rubbing noise and hardly any power. Luckily my dealer was within a mile of where this failure occurred and limped to the dealer in second gear at 25mpr.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt would not lock when buckled. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

Thank you.

Cracked dash board
My 2007 yukon dash continues to crack. I have had dash fixed in the past and always put my auto under carport or use sun shades. My dash has continued to crack and is now cracked where passenger airbag is.
The dashboard cover is cracking in multiple places around the airbags and above the instrument panel.
Takata airbags that are defective, are still not corrected. I pay $539 a month for a car payment and we can't drive the car. My wife and kids and myself are too scared to get in the car.
Dash has 7 cracks and 2 are fragmented ..got to be a safety issue if airbag is ever deployed...thanks
Without warning, check engine light, reduced power and stability system shut down dash board engine light came on and stayed on. Had engine code scanned (p2138, p0102) still problem is not resolved. Dealer was no help just wanted to sell parts that may fix it.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly decelerated and the stability track warning indicator illuminated. The contact had to restart the vehicle in order for it to operate correctly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
2007 yukon xl - traction control came on causing a reduction in power while traveling.this is a safety concern that should be addressed by general motors. This is a very serious safety issue that needs to be looked into, before somebody gets hurt or killed. Gm needs to recall their products that are involved.
I was sitting in a parking lot when my rear window exploded.there was nothing around to cause this to happen. It just exploded into 1000's of pieces.
