Takita recall.i did a vin search and found there has been an open recall for just shy of 3 years with no remedy available.what should be done?

Takata recall not fulfilled!

Takata recall.we received a recall notice from gmc in july 2016.they still do not have parts to repair this recall.how can they make an entire year's worth of newcars and still not be able to make currently owned cars safe.this kind of delay is unacceptable, especially since it can lead to death.

Takata recallreceived recall notification in july 2016 yet to date they have not been replaced. The letter states the manufacture deems them unsafe.why have they not been replaced. Other car companies have completed the replacement process.

Dash board cracked around air bag 3/2/15 the a week later a major crack over the steering wheel. Gm say's part is not available. Call dealership did that dealership cant get part from gm because not available.

Takata recall and defective dashboard. 2007 gmc yukon was purchased used with over 100k. Shortly after my vehicle was purchased in 2015 the dashboard literally caved in while driving on a paved street. After much research and speaking with fellow yukon and tahoe owners, i determined the problem is widespread and consistent in terms of cracking areas and magnitude. I called gmc and was told they would consider subsidizing a portion of the repair cost but i had to get an estimate from a local gmc service center. After contacting the gmc service center i was told a diagnostic fee would apply for a repair quote, to which i disagreed given the need for an estimate only. I spoke once more with gmc stating i would not pay a diagnostic fee given the nature of the request and unknown remedy. At the present moment the air bags are also under recall but unavailable. The cracking dashboard and defective air bags create a volatile safety situation for my family and i. All this information has been shared with gmc via a certified letter, to which they sent a letter stating i should call if my request has not been resolved. The call resulted in a notice that i alone am fully responsible for the defective and hazardous dashboard and no assistance would be provided. I completely acknowledge the state of the warranty, however, the sheer numbers of this occurrence clearly indicate the dashboards are defective.

Takata recallmy wife filed a complaint for this vehicle which is shared and registered to both of us but realized after filing she typed 2017 instead of 2007.received a notice for defective air bags.takata was to replace.called our dealership, silveira in healdsburg, several times but part was never provided to our dealership by takata.still no replacement and have same defective air bags in car!

Two weeks ago a warning light went on indicating "service air bag".took car in for service today and summary from tech was "performed tech two diagnostic scan.found diagnostic trouble code b0087 supplemental inflatable restraint circuit.further diagnosis is needed."decided to explore via internet and found that there appears to be a service bulletin on this issue:nhtsa #10023755.if the dealer was aware of this, they did not state anything.suggestion from dealer was that they replace the sensor and if that did not work they would need to replace the "sensor computer".

My dashboard has cracked on the left side of the airbag. My passenger airbag light stays on even when someone is sitting in the seat. My vehicle was parked in my driveway when i noticed there was an opening in the dashboard.

After receiving a takata airbag recall notice, i contacted jack wilson gmc twice requesting that all takata inflators be removed from my vehicle and they refused. Gmc said they would contact me when they had replacement parts, but have not. I told them i did not care if no parts were available or if i had working airbags, but i wanted the dangerous inflators out! they said no.

This vehicle was purchased used, but under warranty from the dealership. It has been always maintained and serviced, under extended warranty, by the same dealership. As soon as we noticed the cracks in the front passenger seat airbag area, we checked with the dealership. They said that they will not address the issue, since gmc does not have a recall issued, however they acknowledged that this problem exists in tens of thousands of gmc vehicles and there is overwhelming documented evidence of manufacturing defects.there are cuts around the airbag area with sharp edges and in case of airbag deployments, they would be flying like daggers and are very dangerous.

Consumer states that the passenger air bag light is not functioning properly.*njthe passenger air bag light illuminated indicating a problem. The vehicle was taken in for repairs several times to no avail.

Takata recall i was driving my vehicle when all of a sudden my dashboard started to crack on the driver side & passenger side right where the airbags are located at the time i was on local streets going about 22 mph

Dash board cracked around air bag last year and now a major crack over the steering wheel that is caving the dash board in i can see down under it!

The front passenger air bag sensor goes on and off when my wife sits in it. She weights 112 lbs. This has happened since the day we purchased the vehicle new at the dealer. We are very concerned about this and the dealership gave us blanket statements. The dealership has replaced the sensor in the seat, however the same problem persists. The service manager mike witnessed the problem. As mentioned, we are very very concerned.

Stab, abs light and engine lights either going on one at a time or simultaneously. Car wouldn't start & when it did all of the dashboard gauges were at "zero" car seemed off but drive-able--gas, mph, rpm, gas/oilgauges remained at zero while driving.later that day when car was restarted-the gauges were at normal readings. Stabiltrack light keeps going on & off. Electrical doesn't work well, almost every power door has failed & actuator has been replaced, rear back hatch door will not open & we have no access to our cargo/trunk area. Keyless entry works occasionally. Interior and exterior chrome handles have sharp edges.

My husband was driving i was in the passenger seat whenthe drivers seat all of the sudden went all the way forward and the back of the seat went straight up, so that my husbands face was in the steering wheel and his legs were jammed up under the steering wheel. He was able to pull off theside of the road ok. The service air bag light came on,the vehicle was running very rough and using alot of gas( 9 miles to the gallon) 3rd row seat will not stay locked in place( lock to the floor) auto garage door opener in car will not work.

There is a major electrical problem with suv i bought the denali because that is suppose to be the best but it has been far from it... My nav screen dose not work it has been replaced twice and still dose not work.. My power running boards do not work and the have been replaced as well. My back-up camera dose not work because the monitor is the nave screen. The back up sensors do not work, the power flip down seats do not work and the power tail gate dose not open ... It is extremely upsetting because i bought the denali for $60,000.00 and gmc's promise is we are professional grade and this is not the case here....

Cracks in dashboard. Digital display went out and wont show anything.

When i'm driving at night the lights flicker this includes every light outside beams inside dash everywhere. It happens when it's in motion or not. This is a safety hazard because the flickering is a distraction to other drivers including yourself. When focusing on road all of a sudden they start flickering and it distracts everyone dramatically. I almost wrecked twice because of this and have told my dealer ship "trinity automotive" and they have yet to fix it.

Stabilitrak off light comes on, followed by reduced engine power.vehicle won't go over 30 mph then completely shuts down.steering goes out and had i not been in a safe location where i could drift over to shoulder it could have been extremely dangerous.

The back up camera went fuzzy and then quit working, the dvd player, stereo and turn signals all quit working. I had to turn the car off before it would start working again. On the way home everything quit working again, it was several days before it would work.

The check engine light came on, all the lights on the gauges went out, the traction control went out, the brakes started pulsating and stopped the car all by it self. This all happened after the incident that i described in complaint (odi) # [xxx]. My 2007 gmc yukon xl; self combusted while parked in my driveway.my wife drove it on an errand, returned to our home, parked and locked the vehicle.within 20 minutes or so, the vehicle began to smoke eventually the entire engine compartment caught fire.the vehicle was parked, off, key was out and the vehicle was unattended.luckily, the horn blew which alerted us to the fire.otherwise, additional property loss or injuries could have been sustained.we have a security camera video evidence (from our neighbors security system) of the entire incident.while i am uncertain as to the exact cause; state farm investigated the vehicle and is giving a settlement check for the estimated value.the truck was equipped with a "washer fluid heater" and there were two recalls by gm because of the risk of fire.

My wife's 2007 yukon xl had a message that stated that the traction control was off and a reduction in power message while traveling on the interstate highway going 65 miles an hour during rush hour. When this message came on the yukon came to a very dangerous reduction in speed and was very close to getting rearended by the vehicles behind her. She was able to pull over to the shoulder and was able to restart the engine and the message reset but came back on soon after she got back up to speed and the truck shut down again. I have since replaced the throttle body assembly and checked all ground straps replaced the battery and have checked the harness. The issue has continued and since my vehicle is out of warranty it is getting very expensive to start replacing parts on the vehicle just to have it do the same thing. According to the dealership there are no recalls but there are several forums on line with people all over the united states that have the same problem with there gm products. This is a very serious safety issue that needs to be looked into, before somebody gets hurt or killed. Gm needs to recall their products that are involved and repair them.-

Instrument cluster lighting is controlled by the auto "light sensor". When driving in the direction of the sun, the speedometer and other instruments are unreadable especially if the driver is wearing sunglasses to shade the eyes. I tried to ask the manufacturer about making a service change that would have these instrumentsalways lighted. They have acknowledged the complaint but have no plans to correct the situation.

While driving today at a speed of 55 mph in somewhat heavy traffic my service traction control and stabilitrack indicator came on as well as a message on the dash saying the same. At which time my vehicle came to slow down and i lost power. I pulled over and and shut the car down and upon restart noticed that not only did white smoke come from my exhaust but the car had a rough idle the same indicators were still on and the engine light had now come on as well and was flashing. I was able to make it home with a rough limp however when i came to a stop felt as though the car was hesitant to keep running or take off.when applying gas there was a thump from the rear wheels like the transmission was not sure how to engage.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl. While driving 35 mph, the steering wheel seized and the stabilitrak warning indicator illuminated. The contact first experienced the failure two years ago and took the vehicle to braeger chevrolet (4100 s 27th st, milwaukee, wi 53221). The dealer replaced the spark plugs, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired for the recent failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 185,000.

The transmission was leaking and recalled and that was fixed by gm. The brake lights sometimes over heat and i had to replace the saddles on them. I do not even know they go out but i have people honking at me that i have no lights in the rear. Now with my warranty out and have 86.000 miles on it the fuel pump is out on the vehicle at a 700 dollar cost. The door knob fell off, i have oil pressure issues all of the time. Last november the drive shaft fell off as i was driving down the road and had to pick it up off of the interstate which someone could have gotten hurt. Brake issues. When you spend 48,000 dollars on a vehicle it makes you sad that gm does nothing to help their customers. Maybe the government should not help them anymore. Today they wanted me to take it to gm and pay 200 dollars for a diagnosis. Just more money in their pocket. I want to another shop for advise. This car is definitely a disappointment nd lemon.

I took the vehicle to my local gmc dealership located in ithaca, (maquire chevy-cadillac) near ithaca mall.the vehicle engine sound like if someone was hitting the engine with a hard object, all the lights on the dashboard come on.the service tech told me that they would fix the problem, later that night i picked up the vehicle and drove less than a mile from the dealership and the same noise came back on.drove back and complain of the problem that being fix and was given a rental car.the next day i was told by the service rep. That alifter had went on the engine and it would cost approx. 1,600.00 to fix that problem but when not guarantee any other problems.i took the vehicle to a outside mechanic who advised me that it would be cheaper to put a new engine in it.the service manager looked up his screen and advised me that the vehicle had no recalls on it.i paid $4,774.84 for a new engine, but gmc did not stand by their product.all i want for labor is $600.00 and 203.00 for the rental car.i have receipts to show what was paid and the break of what needed to done to engine.i contacted gmc 1-800 number which was a joke, they listen but refused to do anything.i needed the vehicle to be fix, which was an emergency.please help.

The check engine light came on along with the service traction control and service stabilitrac lights while driving on the street near home. The truck immediately loss power and i had to limp back home.after getting the vehicle to the dealer, i'm told that the engine has a collapsed lifter in cylinder seven. I don't understand how an engine can experience that type of failure with only 44.000 miles. I contacted gm and their stance is regardless of low mileage, the vehicle is out of warrantee.this issue presents a serious hazard, because a failure like this, if occurred on a highway could cause a catastrophic event with the sudden loss of engine power. Not to mention the financial burden as it cost me $3700 to have the engine repaired. In checking consumer complaints, this is not an isolated incident. The gm 5.3l engine is notorious for this malfunction. When talking with a gm corporate rep i stated, i believe this to be a design flaw, or defect part, but was blown off because i'm out of warrantee. What happened to standing behind your product?

Engine oil low add oil light comes on. Vehicle uses over a quart of oil every 2000 miles.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl 1500.the vehicle has had multiple failures.while driving 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shortly afterwards, the power steering and brakes failed.after the first failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the software in the computer system needed to be updated.after the vehicle was repaired, the failure recurred six months later at the same speed.the vehicle was not towed on this occasion because the contact allowed the vehicle to sit for a couple of minutes.the engine restarted and the contact was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer.they attempted to update the software again; however, the failure recurred less than one week later.the dealer updated the software for the third time, but the failure continues to recur.the dealer has been unable to permanently repair the failure.the failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 28,000.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl 1500.the contact stated that the engine failed a total of three times.the vehicle lost total power while driving.the most recent failure occurred while driving 10 mph.the engine vibrated violently and the warning light began flashing on the instrument panel.the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they replaced the entire engine under warranty.the contact was provided with documentation on the actual repair.the first two times, the dealer just replaced the camshaft position sensor to remedy the failure, but it continued to persist.the current mileage was approximately 29,400 and failure mileage was 14,000.

1.no leading events2."engine power diminished" error, vehicle loses power, traction control and stabiltrak.vehicle cannot maintain speed.occurred 3-4 times a week and then reset after car was turned off and restarted after 15 minutes.disruptive and dangerous on highways and in less secure areas when driver had to stop.3.the dealer replaced the throttle body and throttle body connector.part was on national back order because of failures across gm & chevrolet models.neither the dealer or gm will acknowledge part failures.

My 2007 yukon denali with the new 6.2 litre engine started leaking raw fuel onto my garage floor due to a defective fuel injector after driving 2 miles home from work. I noticed the smell as i exited the truck in my garage. I immediately coasted the truck out of the garage realizing i had an open flame 10 feet away from a gas water heater and a gas furnace. The same day i saw a blurb on the local news of a couple of house fires involving 2007 yukons. I'm convinced this was probably the same scenario but i recognized the danger instead of closing the garage door and going into the house. Please look more into this issue. My profession is firefighting and i know this could have really gotten ugly if i had not noticed it.

I own a 2007 gm yukon xl. In or about may-june of 2009 the car began running badly and smelled of gas. I returned it to the dealer (sun pontiac gmc of wantagh, ny) and they said they corrected the problem. It happened again and time again with the check engine light appearing and onstar calls to see if i was okay. Many reports from onstar also confirm this. After many trips to sun pontiac their service department had refused to issue me a repair order because yukons were having explosive conditions, especially mine. I called gm and they said they never had any such problem and referred me to another dealership where the same problem occurred again. I was ordered not to drive the vehicle and have it towed from my home because of the same explosive condition. Since june 2009 i have had over 300 phone conversations with gm. I personally witnessed the entire rear end undercarriage of my vehicle in pieces. I have read and been told that it was a manufacturer defect that even after they replaced harnesses, gas tanks, tubes, gas lines etc. It could not be fixed. The last words out of the service department at sun was that " i wouldn't drive that car if i were you because it might blow up". I knew that gm would never admit to any of this so i taped most of my conversations with all of their head officials and stored numerous copies with two separate attorney's, my family and one cousin who works for the media in case anything were to happen. It was admitted to me a gm that this was not the first time and it wouldn't be the last. I have taken my yukon off the road and parked it away from anything flammable with very little gas in the tank (well, that was how gm left it. I have proof that general motors is fully aware that yukons might start blowing up yet i haven't seen a recall and i have a $46,000.00 pile of rubbish in my driveway.

We were driving on the freeway 70 mph, when the anti lock brakes lockedup, the yukon started violently jerking around, thetransmission was shifting very hard, then the car shut off causing no steering. All of this happened in a matter of seconds. It was an hour later before the car would restart and the transmission was still not working right, shifting gears extremely hard.

2007 gmc denali rolled backward after key was removed and vehicle in "park".consumer was unable to stop vehicle as it rolled about 100 yards in length down approximately 20 feet.consumer could have received major injuries as vehicle went over a 4 foot wall during incident and she was unable to get in to attempt to stop, but had to hang on steering wheel in order to not get run over.

I bought 2007 denali on 8/15 and it had to go in for repair 8/17 because the engine hot/ac turned off came on. Got the car back 8/20 at 7pm and 8 am the next morning 8/21 the same message came up on the dash board. I was told it was ok to drive until i could get it in for repair again on 8/22. Tried to start the car on 8/22 and the car wouldn't start. I don't feel safe in this vehicle at all and would like to get a brand new truck as since i am paying $48,000 for the truck.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl 1500.the contact stated that the seat belts go into lock mode and do not provide any slack when they are pulled completely out.the failure could result in choking of a small child or a fatality should the brakes have to be applied immediately.the contact feels that there should be some sort of release button; however, the dealer and gmc stated that there was no accessible release button for the seat belts.the failure mileage was 29,000 and current mileage was 29,000.updated 3/5/08 the consumer stated the belts locks the person in unless retracted completely and the vehicle needs an accessible release button. Updated 03/05/08

I just purchased a 2007 yukon xl denali.it is supposed to have 2 tether anchors in the third passenger row - it only has 1.i was told before purchasing during my comparisons that is was listed as having 2.my owners manual said it has 2 and even has a picture of their locations.there is only one.i contacted gmc they said it must of been a misprint and is illegal to retrofit a tether.i have child seats in the 3rd row that require tethers.i need at least 2.they basically said too bad.

Driver side front rotor outer surface has full metal to metal contact with zero brake pad material and had to be pried out. Driver side front rotor inner has uneven partial surface contact with rotor and is jammed in the carrier (unable to remove by hand, had to be hammered out of the carrier).passenger side brake rotor outer has perfect surface but brake pad looked brand new... No wear on it and is jammed in the carrier. Passenger side brake rotor inner surface has partial contact with brake pad... Heavy thick rusty ridge formed and brake pad showed ridge impression on it.customer said the brake was done by dealer two years ago. The main culprit is the brake pads are jammed in the carrier because the brake pad backing plate is too long to insert or to move freely. There is some kind of design flaw/specification problem. The driver side required much more shortening of the new brake pad backing plate than the passenger side. Brake pad tab width was perfect and moves easily with no play. It is only the length of the brake pad tabs are the issues.i am not sure if the brake pad/caliper carrier is at fault... Possibility of bending or twisting that may cause the issue of brake pad being jammed, or too long to insert. It is such a strong metal that there is no way any human can physically bend it nor simply dropping it. It would take a severe force to actually bend the carrier such as the vehicle itself under repeated braking. I think this is the most plausible reason for this situation.new brake pads has same problem... The length of the backing plate tabs are too long to insert into carrier on driver side and they do fit too tight in passenger side carrier. We had to shorten the brake pad tabs to allow the pads to move smoothly in the carrier.

The brakes make very loud noise. There is uneven pad wear and brake scoring. The vehicle has 3500 miles and is brand new condition. The dealer said such noise, pad wear and scoring is normal.

There is a recall on 2006 gmc yukons for the power steering hoses as they become fractured and can cause fire. I have a 2007 yukon and when i took it to the dealer for service, they indicated that my yukon is starting to show the same fractures in the power steering hose. Hopefully this can get fixed before someone gets killed as gmc did not bother to fix the known issue when producing future vehicles.

I recently bought a used 2007 gmc yukon xl. A passenger noticedthe chrome on the door handle was peeling and very sharp. I noticed the drivers handle is just starting to peel. I saw an investigation is currently being conducted.

Interior door handle coating wearing off, became sharp and lacerated my index finger.

Dash board cracked around air bag last year and now a major crack over the steering wheel that is caving the dash board in i can see down under it!

Dash cracked by passenger air bag and above dash board on drivers side-continuing to grow in size on drivers side--replace one already in 2011 under warranty(car was 5years old)- now five years later same cracks-- started claim with gm assistance, was told to go to dealer for pictures and to determine if it was a defect or my fault-- service manager proceeded to tell me when i went in that he had the same 2007 yukon with the same dash cracks-a week later i was told sorry your vehicle is out of warranty we can do nothing for you. I was also told that even if they could do something the part was no longer available-- i called the same dealerships parts department and guess what i could get the replacement the next day!! called the 800 number to let them know--they said sorry you where told that but still we can not do anything for you. I proceeded to ask if they thought a dash should only last 5 years, to which she said no but still could not help me. I have own a chevy tahoe, a chevy suburban and numerous chevy vehicles- i think with customer service like theres it is time to take my money else where!

Chrome is coming off the wheels causingtires to leak air.all four outsidedoor handles broke offdue to a weak plastic design.

I owna 2007 gmc yukon.the chrome on the door handles have started to peel, and we have had everyone on our family slice their finger open.my finger had a deep gash that bled severely.if it was my child with a gash that deep, i would have immediately taken them to the dr.the chrome is sharp as a razor. Dealer says there is no problem.

2007 gm yukon xl, front interior door handles have peeling chrome paint that cut fingers when opening doors.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl 1500. The contact stated that the liftgate failed to open. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Cracks in dashboard. Digital display went out and wont show anything.

My dashboard has cracked on the left side of the airbag. My passenger airbag light stays on even when someone is sitting in the seat. My vehicle was parked in my driveway when i noticed there was an opening in the dashboard.

Takata recall i was driving my vehicle when all of a sudden my dashboard started to crack on the driver side & passenger side right where the airbags are located at the time i was on local streets going about 22 mph

Cracked dash at airbagand across bottom of hump at steering wheel. Crack at steering wheel keeps growing. Its embarrassing and now makes a rattling sound.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl 1500.while driving 55-60 mph, the cruise control feature would only work during mid-level road elevations.the vehicle would accelerate on its own.the failure almost caused two near crashes.the dealer and manufacturer stated that nothing could be done and it was not a safety defect or concern.the failure mileage was 3,500 and current mileage was 15,000.updated02-19-2008 updated 02/19/08

2007- gmc yukon xl denali purchased on 11/09/2007. 1 week after picking up this new vehicle we noticed distorted images when driving. This is most noticeable at night time. The windshield has numerous waves throughout, causing the images to be distorted. After driving for awhile you get a feeling you are on a boat, makes you dizzy and gives you a headache. The dealership referred me to gmc. Gmc's donna mowet (866-790-5600 xt 12023 service request #71-622065992) reported to me via phone yesterday (05/20/08) after about 2 months, "...the technicians have determined that this is a normal normal characteristics of the windshield and that no further action will be taken by gmc or the dealership, hence it does not qualify for the new vehicle warranty.....". I requested i be allowed to return the vehicle to which she stated "it would not qualify for a buy back".please keep in mind that no technician ever looked at my specific vehicle, the dealership informed me of that and handed me a service bulletin, explaining that i will have to contact gmc. In addition, i will like to point out that the service bulletin was issues on feb. 2008 after the vehicles have been built and sold, not before they were released. There were no service bulletins available when i made my purchase and there was no warning advising me as a consumer that the windshield had normal characteristic flaws that may cause distortion while operating this vehicle.i am requesting that nhtsa please look at this matter immediately so no deaths or injuries occur and have gmc comply with the new vehicle warranty or have then buy the vehicle back.i would like to also state that our previous vehicle was a 2002 gmc yukon xl denali and that we were happy and had no major issues nor was the wind shield warped for over 1000,000 miles.

The monitor for the rear entertainment system is obstructing my rear view mirror view.between the monitor and the rear gate window latch i have about 2 inches of mid view that is not caught by the side view mirrors.they said they were sending me a coupon for an oil change - not a good solution in my mind.

Dt*: the contact stated the driver side mirror had a lot of vibration.the dealership installed foam in an attempt to repair, but the problem persisted.

Design of windshield wipers ensures that driver's vision will be obscured during moderate and heavier snowfall.
