Takata recallit has been six months since this recall was issued. This yukon has been kept and driven for several years in the hot/humid conditions indicated in the recall. I do not feel it is safe, or that the airbags are trustworthy and the dealer cannot/will not repair it and has no estimated date to expect a solution. We are now entering winter, which is the most dangerous time to drive where i live. There are far more accidents, and in turn far more opportunities for the airbags to fail and cause injuries that would not occur if the recall had been resolved.

Takata corporation ('takata') has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, chevrolet avalanche, silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, gmc sierra 1500, yukon, yukon xl, and 2009-2011 chevrolet silverado 2500/3500 and gmc sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to nhtsa a petition for inconsequentiality and nhtsa has granted gm until august 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition is denied, gm will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. For more information visit www.regulations.gov and search for docket no. Nhtsa-2016-0124.

We bought this yukon and there is a airbag recall and i called to make appt at the dealer and they said they can't fix it until gmc said it's ok because and to keep driving it. This is not right i have a young son and family that i drive it everyday this can be very dangerous driving the vehicle. Can someone please call me or email me what to do.. Thank you [xxx] [xxx][xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

Takata recall

Takata recall.i want to pay for the recall and complete the repair at a gmc dealer.i cannot.nobody can get parts.i want to pay for the part and pay for the repair.while the recall is in limbo, i want to drive a safe vehicle.please order gm to have user-parts available for user-pay recall repairs - please!.i cannot be held hostage to not being able to repair.i will sign a waiver to not claim the repair price after the recall is official.

Takata airbag recalli have touched base with my dealership several times since may 2016.....i am still waiting for a resolution so that my passengers dont have to sit in the back seat for fear of being punched in the face with shrapnel if the airbag deploys

Takata recall it has been well over a year now and we are still waiting for a remedy?meanwhile driving in florida isnt scary enough but i have this on my mind ever single time we get in our truck.

Takata recall : this recall is still outstanding after more than two and a half years.

Takata recall. Dealer won't fix it. I'm concerned about family safety.

Sometimes when i come to a stop my vehicle goes into the autostop mode, but when i go to accelerate it doesn't come out of autostop and jerks really hard then stalls out. Once i put the vehicle in park and restart it, it cranks right up but the check engine light comes on and stays on for about a day and then goes off on it's own. I have taken the vehicle to gmc dealership twice and paid out about $700 for repairs that did not solve the problem. The dealership claims to not be able to find any codes even with the check engine light on. I have been close to being hit from the back on at least 3 occasions because the vehicle initially moves slowly before jerking and stalling.please help myself and others with this similar problem get help because obviously the dealership isn't concerned with our safety as well as our children.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, he applied the brakes but noticed that the vehicle had independently converted from the gasoline mode to electrical hybrid mode. The vehicle then stalled but regained power once the vehicle was at a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection but they could not diagnose the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

75% of the electric door locks on the above described gmc yukon, including both rear door locks have failedin the locked position. This failure makes it difficult/impossible to open the doors - especially the rear doors.because the car has only one exterior door lock; in order to open the interior manual rear door latches in an emergency, one must try to climb over/between the front seats (the head rests are no longer removable) - a stretch of 4'4" from the edge of the front seat to the latch which is located at the rear of the rear door.should one attempt to access these locks through the rear tailgate, it is a long reach of 6' 6" over the third row seats.in an emergency situation, the above described failure, can easily trap infants and children in the back of the car, creating an a serious health and safety problem.

We were at a stop and we started to go and turn the truck hesitated and died in the middle of the road we restarted the truck back up and the check engine light came on and it hesitated when we started to go again and it was over excelerating and took a while to change from 1st gear to 2nd gear

My truck accelerates and abruptly stops while slowing down under 20 mph. Under 20 mph the engine is suppose to switch over to connect to hybrid battery system. Sometimes the vehicle abruptly stops while turning or sometimes the car cuts all the way off. I purchased the vehicle in 2010 and i have reported this problem since 2013. Overtime i took the vehicle back to the dealer and they would tell me that they couldn't duplicate the problem. I recently had major engine problems involving the lifters according to their diagnostic machine. The cost was 6000 to repair. After repairing the lifters the car still has the spontaneous accelerating and stopping issues.we were told by the service manager at chevrolet that we should "just dump the vehicle and they had a hybrid in the back they had over a month and they can't figure out whats wrong with it". I paid over 38,000 for this truck at their dealer ship. Ive invested thousands in repair costs. I won't sell it because i know it has safety hazards. I drive with caution because i don'tknow when to expect the car to accelerate.

I already have complaint number #11025458. I wanted to continue adding. Since i filed the complaint the problem still persist and more frequent and dangerous. The check engine light still comes on then within a day or two turns off. Stays off for a few days then again on and off. It's not the oil change that has been done already. That's the only message we get when we take it to gmc to have the lightchecked. The excellarating still continues when i'm at a stop light. The car has turned off on me 2 times now while wanting to drive (excellaratting to drive) the car has not wanted to turn on for 1hr. It's not the battery we had it checked. My time on the truck keeps resetting. After i set it then go back in the truck to drive it's reset again, so it's turning off the battery then turning it back on. I still get alot of the hessitation to drive it makes the whole truck shake i'm forcing it to drive. I have come close to someone hitting me due to the hessitation of it not moving even though i'm pushing the gas. I have not heard nothing from you guys. The dealer can't find nothing but said it might be the break senser that i paid $180.00 to have changed with the exact same problems still happening. I received a recall letter of a part for my truck took it to gmc they said i should be getting another letter from the same company when the part is available. It's been over a year still nothing. Something needs to be done about this. Do i need a lawyer? the problems accure weather it's in motion or stationary, on the city st or highway turning or not it does not matter it happens with everything. Thank you

We have had issues with it stopping on the middle of intersection and won't wan to turn on and if it does it turn right of doesn't happen all the time but we been having this issue more recently the message say service stabilized bar power steering and some other ones we did look up on google to see if more people have had issues like this their been several that still till date dealer can't help them but it is very insane and scary since 2 time i have almost been hit has not happen in highway but yes driving

We were at a stop and we started to go and turn the truck hesitated and died in the middle of the road we restarted the truck back up and the check engine light came on and it hesitated when we started to go again and it was over excelerating and took a while to change from 1st gear to 2nd gear

Vehicle will abruptly stop without any warning when starting to accelerate from zero up to about 10 mph. All engine indicator lights will flash including audible warnings of malfunction. I must come to a complete stop, put the vehicle in park, then proceed to restart the vehicle. A rear end collision is inevitable.

Since i purchased the vehicle 2 yrs ago i have complained to dodge and gmc about the issues involving the car. It has hessitated when pushing on the gas after being in a stop. It has accelerated on its own on a stop light gone all the way to 4. I had to put it on park for it to stop.the car has completely turned off on me several times thenthe check engine light turns on and then after 2-3 days turns off along with the road hazzard light. When i take it to have it checked they find nothing. I finally got tired of it took it to dodge to have it diagnose paid $150.1. They did not offer a loaner car 2. They had my car for almost 2 daysjust for a diagnossic test 3. They did not have a hybrid specialist there nor did they sent it to one. They didnt find nothing wrong with it just suggested to do transmission change, change the wires to the spark plugs and change the spark plugs after doing all that. The problem continued. I then took it to gmc paid another $150 for them to do a diagnosis test. They also did not find anything wrong with it but seen that it had a extended warranty of the throttles and said that could be it. After changing that the problem still continued. The only thing that the guy told me from me explaining the problems is it could be the brake senser. Paid &170.00. Problem still continued nothing has changed. This is dangerous and could cause an accident, the car turning completely off on me hessitating to drive and accelerating on it's own when on park is dangerous. I have done more than my park in taking the car to see what's wrong with it yet no one can find nothing wrong with it the machine says nothing when i want the problem to acure to show them what i am talking about it does not do it. I don't know what else to do. But this is dangerous very very dangerous. I paid alot with no results to show for it. Please look into this and have it checked.

Sometimes when i come to a stop my vehicle goes into the autostop mode, but when i go to accelerate it just dies in the middle of the intersection with the gas engine not engaging and the electric mode not moving the vehicle then it jerks really hard. The check engine light comes on and stays on for about a day and then goes off on it's own. I have taken the vehicle to mulitple gmc dealerships numerous times and paided out for repairs that did not solve the problem. The dealership claims to not be able to find any codes even with the check engine light on. I have been close to being hit from the back on at least 3 occasions because the vehicle initially moves slowly before jerking and stalling and almost broad sided on more than 3 occasions when pulling out of a stop sign into traffic. I am aware others are experiencing similar problems can we get help because obviously the dealership isn't concerned with our safety. I have recently been refused the opportunity the have a gm regional rep meet me at a local dealership to review the issue.

Driving 45 exiting the freeway when warning engine light come son " engine power reduced" and dropped the car to 1mph almost causing an accident. I would press on the gas pedal and there was no power it had me stalled on the off ramp exit during busy morning traffic. After 10 minutes of being stalled and attempting to give the gas pedal it finally moved for me to get over out of the way. The engine light is still on. Very dangerous luckily no accident and i didnt have my kids in the car.

My yukon whines when putting in reverse and 1st gear. Will hardly live at all unless you put the truck in m2

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.

2008 gmc yukon door actuators going out repetitively. I have to have two actuators replaced at about $400 each for nearly $800.two failures out of four actuators is aa totally unacceptable failure rate.this is a serious defect.the fact that the manual unlatch is un reachable makes this issue even more outrageous.manually unlocking the door instead of being able to use my key remote is not easy.one needs to crawl in the back seat to unlatch the back door.this need serious attention!this is a pain and causes me to seriously consider buying a different brand.do what you wish gm.your loss down the road as i will tell as many as i can to find another vehicle to buy.

I have had repeated failures of all the door locks in my yukon. They will only work manually not with the auto lock feature. Safety is a concern as you need to remember to lock the door manually and then unlock it manually to get in the car. The auto door lock feature (locking at 5 mph or above) also does not work inviting a car jacking incident. I have had 3 replaced under warranty and now a 4th door is affected.

I have a 2008 gmc yukon hybrid the door on my driver and rear seat some time it open and lock. I had passenger side fix under warranty. Now they want me to paid over $400 to fix it.

My yukon whines when putting in reverse and 1st gear. Will hardly live at all unless you put the truck in m2

When the truck goes from the auto stop to engine power the cluch in the transmission doesn't engage full shutting the truck off when trying to pull out from a stop. The truck has shut off several times when trying to pull out into traffic almost causing an accident with my 5 small children on board. Other times it will only partially engaged leaving you with almost no power to pull out in traffic. My truck is still under 100000 miles but over the 5 year warranty period.

Loss of brake pressure, pedal went almost to floor. Brake warning annunciatorstabilitrak caution annunciator service brakes soon message on dic stabilitrak failure message on dicdriving home from work, radio on, air conditioning on, driving for about 10-15 minutes a guy in front of me does a quick lane change and turn in front of me. I have to step on the brake hard but not super hard. When i did this the brake pedal went further than normal and all of the above warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel.a). I slowly pull into a parking lot (2-3 mph) and the pedal goes almost to the floor.almost cannot stop. B). I shut off the vehicle and restart but the lights come on as soon as i press on the brake. I do this several more time, check brake fluid reservoir but the same results. C). After about the 6 time restarting, i hear a small motor running ( brake accumulator / modulator ? ) and the pedal begins to get firm again and the warning annunciators extinguished. D). I continued driving home slowly with no further faults. Didn't think of checking the voltage until everything was good, at that point it was indicating 15vdc. This problem has occurred intermittently many times since then.have taken to keeping one foot on emergency brake.the dealership replaced brake master cylinder but this did not fix problem. Dealer ordered the electric pump (brake modulator) and two weeks later dealership states gm cannot locate any parts to repair the vehicle.part remains on order.vehicle not operable without brakes.

Vehicle brake system responds erratically about once every 100 miles. It has caused numerous near miss accidents.this problem has happened on numerous occasions but i'll describe the most recent. I was driving down a local highway at about 50 miles an hour. Traffic was backing up and came to a stop. I hit the brakes (no danger/emergency, just a normal stop). The vehicle slowed normally to about 15 miles per hour and then the brakes "let go" and the deceleration stopped even though my foot was still on the brake pedal. I had to release the pedal and slam on the brakes anew to get the vehicle to stop before slamming in to the traffic in front of me.this has happened several times since and it seems to occur when the vehicle is switching from hybrid to non-hybrid mode and/or when the regenerative braking is cycling on or off.my vehicle is a 2008 gmc yukon hybrid it's been taken to the dealer at least twice for this problem but nothing has been repaired.i can't recreated the problem on demand, but it happens on average once a week and scares me so much that i don't feel safe driving it anymore. It's just a matter of time before there is a serious accident.

Rocks enter a small hole of the rear brakes causing them to be lodged in the brake drum and making it necessary for a mechanic to remove.my concern is that i won't know rocks are in there and they will causing a braking problem resulting in an accident.

My steering power was completely down without no warning how is that possible the good thing it happen when i got an oil change... I don't know what may have cause it cause my truck was perfectly fine before the oil change once they did the oil change the steering power was not working g mt wheel was very hard.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon hybrid.the contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the power steering assist failed without warning and the steering wheel became hard to turn. The failure was recurring over a period of one week.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vin was unavailable.the manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 86,500. ...updated 05-13-14

While driving my 2008 gmc yukon hybrid in my neighborhood, approximately 20 mph and decelerating, the car suddenly accelerated on its own.i felt a movement in the gas pedal, experienced a sudden acceleration, and i applied the brakes which made it stop immediately.this could have had a tragic outcome if i'd been in a parking lot.
