Crack in dashboard on top of airbag

Objective: cracked on dashboard (passenger side) near airbag. Dashboard is not securely attached. Rattles consistently while driving on a smooth road, rattling increases along with a visual shaking of dashboard if driving on an unsmooth road. Subjective: concerns over potential bodily harm if airbag were to be deployed in case of an accident. Possible that pieces of the dashboard may break off and be projected towards passenger(s).

Takata recall:airbag recall as of may 2016. I have yet to be contacted about a fix. Dealer service center does not think there is a recall although i have checked all legitimate sites and indeed there is. I would like this fixed asap as this airbag issue is especially volatile in hot and humid weather which is the only weather where i live!

A 2011 gmc yukon denali was purchased brand new from hendrick durham auto mall in durham, nc.the vehicle has been kept in great condition and is serviced regularly.the dash has a large crack and splintering above the instrument cluster.after researching the issue many other gmc and chevrolet products within this line are experiencing the same issue.this vehicle had a sticker cost over $60,000 and they refuse to fix the issue and only offer a discount.this is very concerning because many of the dashes are also cracking in the area of the airbags.this can possibly create shrapnel upon deployment considering how brittle the dashes are.

Cracking of the dashboard above the instrument cluster, and the common occurrence of cracks around the passenger airbag in the gm full-size trucks and suvs causes concern of potential shrapnel within the passenger cabin in the event of an airbag deployment.

Tamara recall. This recall has been since 2016 and still not resolve. I am active duty military and pcsing overseas. I have to ship my vehicle and they will not ship it with an unresolved recall. I am not sure what else to do...i have contacted the dealership and gmc and they offer no resolution for my issues.

My yukon dash is cracked in 2 places.the dash is flapping due to the weight of the speaker. I am concerned about having an accident and the airbags deploying and sending shards of plastic everywhere. I have young grandchildren.this is not a cheap vehicle. We bought the best.i am shocked this is not a recall. I am very concerned.

The dash board has cracked in two places, one near the stearing column and one on the perimeter of the passenger side airbag. I'm concerned it will effect the integrity of the airbag. The vehicle was mostly stored in a garage and was not exposed to sunlight for a large amount of time.

I have a crack in my dash connecting to the passeger side airbag. This is a huge safety concern. Gm is not willing to fix this problem or issue a recall when it is clearly a manufactures defect. They apparently dont care about the safety of their customers. They have had many complaints and still ignore this problem. Hopefully no one will have to be hurt for gm to fix this problem. But if its my car that someone gets hurt in, they will have a lawsuit on their hands!! updated 09/10/15*ljupdated 12/06/2017

The plastic dashboard is cracked on top of gauge cluster. I am concerned the dash may shatter in a crash if the air bags deploy due to the crack causing the entire dash to be compromised.. This is a safety issue should a airbag deployment happen. I have noticed the dash has been cracked for about a year but didnt find out until today that it has been an ongoing issue with other gm owners.

My gmc denali 2011 dashboard suddenly cracked in two places -they are clearly stress cracks with no support underneath. One crack is on the corner of the passenger air bag, other above steering wheel. Should the pass airbag deploy, i'm not sure if it would work properly. There are hundreds of identical situations with these models in particular.gmc offers no compensation because there are 100s of complaints out there regarding this issue, maybe more. Websites are organized for gmc cracked dashboards! this vehicle has no accident history. It cracked randomly.the dash needs to be replaced because the cracks are growing with the vibration of the car while in motion. Thank you

I have a 2011 yukon denali and the dash has cracked and i am worried about the air bags. I am not sure why or how this happened, but it has happened to over 6000 vehicles (please see facebook page - 07-13 gm cracked dash safety hazard for all trucks) and gmc is not standing behind this problem.

Takata recall - dealership will not repalce even after several requests

The dashboard to my yukon has crashed in two places. At the speedometer housing at right into the passenger air bag cover. It causes the air bag cover to sit up, not rest normally.

Dashboard cracking around the airbag.

Cracked dash by the passage side airbag and it's a safety hazard. It poses a threat of flying debris in the event that the airbag is deployed. My vehicle has always been kept in a garage and haven't been in the direct sunlight anymore the 5-6 hours a dayno more than 4 days a week. I noticed the crack around november 2015 and i spoke with a gmc service rep and they told me that i have to replace the dash because it's a common issue in the suv's. He informed me that i will have to pay $1200 to get it replaced and that he could not investigate my complaint about an electric spark sound in my dash under the speaker because if he did that i might as well replace the dash because the labor charge would be the same. I paid too much money for this vehicle in an attempt to provide safety for my family as we travel up and down the highway for it to be a safety hazard if the airbag is deployed or my speaker spark into a fire. Too much money!

I continue asking for the replacement of these airbags and the dealership continues to claim that the fix is not available.

The dashboard of the vehicle has cracked significantly.i'm concerned that the integrity of the dash is now comprised and if i were to be involved in an accident pieces could be discharged and injure myself or a passenger.additionally, the issue could be compounded should the air bag deploy and the broken, loose portions of the dash be caught in the deployment of the air bag, discharging at an accelerated speed.

Takata recall - my airbags haven't been replaced. I purchased the vehicle as a certified preowned vehicle 6/2014 and purchased an extended warranty. Shortly after, i noticed my dash was cracked. I took vehicle in and was told about the takata airbags. Was also told the size of the airbag causes dashes to crack. They replaced it 8/14. Approx 6 months later it cracked again, this time its much worse. They won't repair it for free or under warranty. They only offer a 1 time courtesy repair. They also said it will continue to crack because of the airbag. So now what? i'm supposed to drive this way. The entire dash rattles while driving. If i drive over speed bumps you can see it bounce. If the dash is cracked and the airbags are defective, how do i protected for possible injury? am, i supposed to keep shelling out $250 for dash replacements that will continue to crack? please help! i like my vehicle otherwise, but this is not safe. And, it's a top dollar denali. Unacceptable.i'm not sure when it cracked. I would say it was stationary, because i didn't realize it was cracked until i was on the road and heard it rattle.

While parked, a full-width crack formed in the an approximately 1-inch-wide section of the dashboard, immediately forward of the front passenger airbag compartment.i am concerned that, in the event of an airbag deployment, this compromise in dashboard integrity will create projectiles within the passenger compartment.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The gmc dealer (bob palmer's chancellor motor group, 2820 ms-15, laurel, ms 39440, (601) 651-4719) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Numerous dashboard cracks above instrument panel and passenger airbag. Could cause splinters of plastic in case of airbag deployment.

Takata recall. Still no word on anyone contacting me. Did receive letter in july. Cracked dash in many locations. Purchased new. Garage kept. Began few years after purchase. Mirror motor driver side broken after two - three years. Broken handle front passenger outside door handle plastic an came off in my wife's hand after few years. Really! she's barely in my truck. Can provide many photos if needed. In all cased dealers wouldn't do anything.

The dashboard is craked in 2 places. It was previously repaired and cracked again. The crack at the airbag is causing the the airbag to extend out, almost popping out. The other crack in the center of the dashboard makes a loud obnoxious sound when driving. It can be seen moving up and down at the crack. I purchased a gmc yukon because the quality is widely known. This issue is ridiculous! the gmc dealer ship does not want to help out with fixing this issue.

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. While driving approximately 55 mph, the dashboard cracked on the passenger side and exposed the air bag. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not provided. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

My dashboard has several cracks across on both sides. Hope this not affect airbag safety.riding down road when noticed the crack; seems to be worse or increasing in size.

The car seat warmer in the back of the car caught on fire while our seven year old was asleep in the car. He was in his booster seat. The seat warmer was not on. (this was in august 2018.) we smelled a burning smell and there was a smoldering flameunder his legs. The car was stationary, not in motion. It was idling in a parking lot.

2011 gmc denali.consumer writes in regards to problems with vehicle engine and battery.the consumer stated as he was driving, the vehicle slowed down to roughly 35 mph.the vehicle was taken to the dealership, wherea diagnosis revealed a failed battery. However, the battery had just been replaced one year earlier.

I was on the highway driving through boston in the fast lane, going about 70mph when all of a sudden the stability control light came on with the check engine light and the engine reduced power light and my vehicle totally lost power to the gas pedal. I was able to get into the slow lane but my vehicle was not able to go faster than 35mph and there was hardly power to my gas pedal.luckily, i made it to an off ramp, as i started to come to a stop, the engine was running very rough and it felt like it was shaking the vehicle back and forth.i barely made it into a empty parking lot and shut the engine off.i managed to make it to my mechanic, who got a throttle sensor code from the engine.he told me about a special coverage adjustment #12273b from gmc, regarding this exact issue and told me to take it to gmc.gmc told me, my vehicle isn't listed for this adjustment, even though, it says it should cover 2008-20111 gmc yukons.apparently, gmc said my vin isn't listed as having the faulty part.i almost died this morning in the fast lane in boston with the exact problem gmc describes in the 12273b.gmc said i'm not covered and have to pay out of pocket. Absurd.

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that while driving at speeds of 55-60 mph and trying to apply the brakes, the vehicle would shimmy. He did not have complete control of the vehicle and he felt that it was unsafe to drive. The contact stated that the check brake system light illuminated twice. Furthermore, the transmission shifted "hard" at times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The vin was unavailable. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that they would return his call. The current mileage was approximately 6,000. The failure mileage was 325.

The seat caught on fire while the car was running. My child was sleeping and smoke was coming out from under his booster seat and his legs. I contacted gmc and they said this had never happened before and we should contact our insurance company, though, when we took it to the technicians at the dealership (for the inspection), they saw where two wires were on top of one another and the seat had caught on fire. This is a serious problem. I searched online and there are many stories out there, i am just not sure if people are reporting them---or if they realize that gmc makes similar cars so cadillac, sierras, and other cars come from the same mold.

Upper dash has split.making this a safety issue if the air bags deploy.also, the heated seats on the passenger side do not work.

Came out of carwash and rear suspension locked up and back of my vehicle raised approximately 8/12 inches light came on said service suspension and trailer braking system. Vehicle has never hauled anything a burnt smell came from back end. This vehicle has never even hit a pothole. Only been driven locally. I'm a little frustrated because i had immediately taking it in to the dealership where i purchased it. And they treated it like it was not a big deal. When back in felt like it was grabbing every time the brake was applied. They sure didn't have a problem giving me a $800.00 hundred dollar bill on a $63,000 thousand dollar basically brand new vehicle. I got online and saw many others with same problem. And that shouldn't be for a vehicle that could buy a small house. Thank you for your time[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 2011 gmc yukon denali the dashboard has cracked directly over the instrument cluster on the driver side. This is the same issue thousands of other owners of tahoe's, yukons, and escalade's are having. D ' literally cracked down the middle over the instrument cluster by no fault of my own. I did not miss use nor bang the dashboard it is a very common problem that is happened to thousands of other people. I just had to pay almost $400 to the dealer to have it replaced. This is a $60,000 vehicle i purchased just a few short years ago. This should not be happening and should be a recall if it's widely affected thousands of other owners.

At 50k miles a crack in the dash had begun.now at 80k there is a crack on both sides of the vent in the center of the dash.on one side, it had 2 cracks and now there is a large triangle shape piece missing.no way to know where that piece went and if it will cause problems down in the dash.very disappointing given the price of this vehicle many and gmc isn't willing to take responsibility for the problem.

Numerous dashboard cracks above instrument panel and passenger airbag. Could cause splinters of plastic in case of airbag deployment.

In april 2016 while in motion my sight was drawn away from the oncoming traffic by a resonanting "flapping" of the center of the dashboard assembly.when i later stopped i found a severe fracture in the composite material to the top left side of the air bag reservoir (?).i have the vehicle at a gm dealer now as driving the unit with a pulsating dashboard was a very adverse distraction.while gm appears to acknowledge a product fault exists, i still have to pay over $300 toward replacing the dashboard unit.

Dashboard cracking through out the top of the whole dashboard including surrounding the airbag on passenger side. I was told this happens in multiple trucks at the dealership as well as shown proof

One week after purchasing, noticed crack in dash in upper left hand corner of airbag on passenger side.i do not know if this happened while driving or sitting in my garage.very concerned if this will affect the effectiveness of the airbag or possibly cause an injury in the event of deployment.

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked in the middle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to suntrup buick gmc (4200 i-70 north outer rd, st. Peters, mo 63376, (866) 504-7492) where it was confirmed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 105,314.

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the dashboard had a large crack and a hairline crack where the air bag was located. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Severely cracked dashboard. Vehicle is garaged and we use a sunshade when parked outside.

Middle of dashboard cracked and coming a part.pieces beginning to fall off.fear that if air bags were to deploy in an accident - the pieces of plastic would become embedded in the body of those in the car.

My dash keeps cracking one of which is next to air bag! 80k miles

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured at the front passenger side air bag area and at the driver side vent defrosting system. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The dashboard was not replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, there was a loud grinding noise coming from the vehicle. The contact was able to slow down and stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the passenger side wheel bearing seized and as a result, the wheel bearing, calipers and rotors needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who stated that they would contact him at a later date. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 11,000.

The dashboard above the instrument panel has cracked.this seems to be a common problem as researched on the internet.there looks to be a hair line crack around the passenger air bag.the concern is when air bag goes off does this throw shards of plastic into the air?this happened when the vehicle was stationary

I have read hundreds of post about the dash cracking. My dash started with a small crack at the passenger air bag and has since caused a larger crack closer to the driver. The crack allows the dash to liberate causing it to crack further. It is ridiculous how many problems are out there with no recall. Dealers continue to tell me that it is up to general motors their hands are tied. May possibly be the last gm product i will own. If this is not a safety issue what is? if my airbag deploys, plastic shrapnel will fill the cab.

Cracked dashboard. As many others have indicated, there is a serious flaw in this model's dashboard, causing spontaneous cracking. Mine happened just before my "generous" 3 year warrantee expired, but by the time i got the vehicle in for inspection, the dealer was "unable" to offer anything other than replacement of the entire dash at my expense. The cracks started at the left corner of the passenger airbag panel as most others described. Then the center clip failed, causing the dash to vibrate when driven. This was very distracting. I eventually applied a small dab of moldable epoxy here to secure the dash and stop the vibration. "professional grade" ....hardly

Dash has cracked in several places and appears it create problems with airbag if a crash occurred.this has happened in the absence of any kind of crash. Vehicle spends most of its time in a closed garage

Upper dash has split.making this a safety issue if the air bags deploy.also, the heated seats on the passenger side do not work.

2011 gmc yukon denali has 2 cracks on the dashboard posing a safety concern.one crack is at the corner of the passenger side airbag and the other in front of the steering wheel.this is an obvious defect that has yet to be addressed by the nhtsa or gmc.the concern is airbag deployment and pieces of the cracked dash becoming projectiles.

First crack in the dash was at less than 40k miles. Now have multiple cracks and a flapping dashboard. Potential issue with pieces of the dash acting as a projectile during airbag deployment causing injuries.

The vehicle dash board has a crack right near the passenger side air bag, also a crack towards the top of the steering wheel. The crack appears to have compromised the dashboard all the way to the passenger-side airbag.

Cracked dashboard.possible injury or death resulting from deployment of the airbags with a cracked dashboard.there is a widespread problem as indicated by the number of internet complaints and news related stories.

My dash started cracking i understand this is a big problem on gmc vehicles

The dash has cracked in two places. One crack is above drive console and the other crack is on the left side of the passenger airbag. There is a safety concern over the passenger airbag. In addition, the cracked dashboard makes terrible noises.this car only has 64,000 miles and has been stored most of the time in the garage. There was no incident that caused the cracks, they just appeared one day mid january 2018.

Cracked dash

I noticed my dashboard cracked about a year ago. I was told from my local gm dealership that it was caused from the heat because we live in a very dry/hot climate. That may be, but i have lived in the same area for 30 years and have never had a dash crack. This needs to be recalled!

Dashboard has two cracks, one being at passenger airbag.fear is if airbag deploys, plastic shrapnel will go airborne possibly hitting passengers.

Multiple cracks in the dashboard.

The dashboard in our 2011 gmc yukon denali cracked directly above the audio/navigation console.it now vibrates and moves during normal driving, particularly on the highway.we have never placed or mounted anything on the dashboard, and the truck was not in use during the approximate time of cracking, strongly suggesting this is a manufacturing defect.

Cracked dashboard on driver side. Car is garaged and rarely exposed to hot sun on the dashboard

Dash cracked in 2 places, one above the speedometer and the other by the passenger side air bag. Now that the cracks are there the center speaker bounces and rattles while driving. This shows that the plastic is obviously brittle so in the event of air bag deployment, how do they know pieces of the dash won't go flying through the cabin and into our faces and our children's faces? air bags deploy at around 200 mph! i don't see how they conclude these cracks are not a safety issue. Redesign using better quality materials and get this problem fixed.

The top of the dash has two cracks, one behind the gauge cluster and one by the airbag door.this is becoming more and more common on the tahoe, yukon, escalade and assorted gm trucks in the 2007-2011 range.in some cases, the cracks have gotten quite large and jagged to the point that pieces of the dash are loose and could become projectiles or affect the airbag in the event of a crash.gm is so far unwilling to assist if people make a complaint to them, although some people have gotten gm to pay for half or more for a replacement dash if they are pushed hard enough.however, there are now reports that the replacement dashes are cracking. And it has been shown that the cracks are not due to chemicals or extreme weather.

Large crack in dash above the instrument cluster.faulty product as it has no mechanical parts.

The top portion of the dashboard is cracking in two places. One over the instrument cluster and the other crack is by the passenger dashboard airbag. This is a known defect with this generation of gmc/chevy trucks and suvs.

Cracked dash of. Center and behind the steering wheel.december i got in the vehicle and noticed a black line on the dash.closer observation, i found a crack.1000 dollars to repair.i am concerned about air bag release and the integrity of the dash.

The dashboard spontaneously cracked and is unsafe.thousands of vehicles have this defect and gmc is ignoring the problem.there is a manufacturing defect where there is not enough brackets for the length of the dashboard that creates the cracking.even if you spend $1200 to repair it because of the faulty design it will crack again.a recall must be initiated.newer models have been changed to correct the issue.gm offers no help to consumers on this issue.

I have now 3 cracks (1 very large) in my dashboard.a dealer in fl (where we just moved from) said that gmc would split the cost of the replacement with me, but we were re-stationed to nc shortly thereafter (active-duty military) and had to leave.i took it to the nc dealer only 2 months later and they won't help cover even one cent.they want to charge $1,100 to replace what is obviously a defect and in fl i was only going to be responsible for $460.how is an international company not able to offer a standard policy/fee for such a case?these cracks appeared almost overnight and are only getting larger.the third crack just appeared and i regularly use a sun shade on summer and warm days.1 crack is also right at the airbag deployment box.the car was not on nor in motion when they first occurred.

We purchased our vehicle september 2017 and didn't notice the cracks until after we purchased.this is very concerning to me seeing the potential recall of the passenger side airbags and an obvious defect having to do with the cracks found on my dash.one crack is over the passenger airbag where my 14 year old son usually rides and the other over the steering wheel.does it really take someone being seriously injured or killed before something is done?

There is a deep crack in my dashboard over the steering wheel and a slight crack in the dashboard near the airbag by the passenger seat. The crack keeps spreading.my dashboard vibrates and shakes when i drive.

I have two cracks on my dash one at the top left of passenger side air bag it is about one inch long. This particular crack is in the same location where 6,000 members on a facebook page have the exact same crack. The other crack is in the center of the dash on the windshield vent. I am wanting a formal investigation for this issue! we do not know when or if we will ever be involved in an accident, but the crack near the airbag is a potential hazard for plastic shards blown out as shrapnel causing more injury in the event the airbag deploys.

Dash is cracked at air bag and above speedometer. Concerned about safety of passengers and decline in value of vehicle

The contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the dashboard in the vehicle had suddenly cracked.one crack was on the corner of the passenger air bag and the other was located above the steering wheel. The contact stated that the cracks may interfere with the air bag deployment.there were no warnings prior to the cracks appearing. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

My 2011 gmc yukon along with countless other gm vehicles has a cracked dashboard above the driver instrument cluster.this can pose a serious danger if the airbag deploys and shatters the dashboard which is made of hard plastic causing shards of plastic being projected into the vehicle.this is a problem for many 2007 - 2013 gm vehicles.

Dashboard is cracked at the passenger side airbag. Concerned for safety.

My 2011 gmc yukon denali has 50k miles and is garaged daily. Like many others my dash is cracking over the speedometer. I fear the deployment of airbags will send shrapnel throughout the vehicle wich will cause my family and i great harm. I this is a well documented manufacturers defect and demand a recall. I hope gm will stand behind their product and do the right thing.

Dash board cracked in half over the air bag i think it can affect airbag deployment . It crack on interstate

The dashboard is cracked at the corner of the passenger side airbag. This cracked has appeared to cause the middle section of the dash to sag. I'm afraid that if the airbag is deployed, the condition of the dash will cause unnecessary injury. This exact problem seems to be a common issue among this model.

2011 gmc yukon denali has 2 cracks on the dashboard posing a safety concern. One crack is at the corner of the passenger side airbag and the other in front of the steering wheel. This is an obvious defect that has yet to be addressed by the nhtsa or gmc. The concern is airbag deployment and pieces of the cracked dash becoming projectiles.i noticed this while the vehicle was in motion in december of 2017

The dashboard to my yukon has crashed in two places. At the speedometer housing at right into the passenger air bag cover. It causes the air bag cover to sit up, not rest normally.

The vehicle was stationary when large crack first appeared in the dashboard.the crack originated from the front windshield a n runs toward the driver seat.the crack makes a y shape as it approaches the drivers seat.the dash makes a vibrating/rattling noise from the cracked area and the crack continues to slowly spread.

Dash board unexpectedly cracked at the exact same spots on the driver side and passenger side. The location is over the airbags which could possibly turn the dash board into shrapnel if my family and i were to get into an accident. Gmc said there is no recall and that they will not replace it.

Driving down the road when i heard a loud snap bang upon the dash by the windshield.upon inspection i found a large crack on the rightt side of the instrument panel molding by the windshield.a few days later there were two more cracks and all were over 4 inches long.contacted gmc customer service who told me to take the vehicle to a gmc dealer to determine if the crack was structual or material defect.gmc customer service even offered to call the dealer for me.anyway, took it to harry robinson gmc in fort smith, ar and the service manager refused to do the inspection as i didn't buy the vehicle from them.also the warranty was expired so he didn't want anything to do with it.so i took it to blue ribbon chevrolet, gmc, buick in sallisaw, ok and sean the service manager was super.he called gmc customer service and even contacted the gmc regional repair rep and had him review the cracked dash report.the regional rep told sean to handle the case as an extended warranty claim as my warranty had only expired 3 months earlier and i had low miles on the car.anyway the gmc rep said i would have to pay $100 as my cost.sean kept trying to call the gmc customer service to get the repair fix with no cost to me but to no avail.the overseas gmc customer service call service reps would not get back with him.soi settled on the repair.botton line:pay over $65000 for a vehicle and have the molding crack in less than 39 months and not be fixed by the maker is stupid.i will never buy another gm product.i will buy foreign as they stand behind their cars.

Came out to my garaged yukon to find a small crack in the dash at the passenger side airbag.i now have another very large crack in front of the steering wheel.there is also a second crack near the airbag which has created a triangle piece of plastic that is nearly loose and looks like it could fall in the dash or become a projectile if the airbag was to deploy.

My dash board cracked in two places and it happen around a year ago but just learned that it might be a manufactured defect. It started from one day to another

Dashboard cracked above instrument panel

Objective: cracked on dashboard (passenger side) near airbag. Dashboard is not securely attached. Rattles consistently while driving on a smooth road, rattling increases along with a visual shaking of dashboard if driving on an unsmooth road. Subjective: concerns over potential bodily harm if airbag were to be deployed in case of an accident. Possible that pieces of the dashboard may break off and be projected towards passenger(s).

Dashboard crack

Thank you

The dashboard has a long horizontal crack across the middle. If the airbag was deploy, it would send sharp shards speeding across the interior of the cabin.note: i had to fill in a date below about when the incident happened -- i'm not sure of the exact date.as such, i filled in 1/1/16).the actual date was a few weeks or days before i went to carl black dealership to see if they would replace it for free.

Large crack across dashboard in front of driver.dealer will not fix and not covered under warranty.clearly a design defect.dealer wants $1,800 to repair.

My dashboard has several cracks across on both sides. Hope this not affect airbag safety.riding down road when noticed the crack; seems to be worse or increasing in size.

Cracked dash from middle of dash to drivers side instrament cluster and on passenger side goes to airbag.it cracked over time. Unknown cause but many have been reported with same defect

Dash cracking on my gmc yukon denali. I have 3 cracks in my dash. One to the left of my instrument cluster. It is about 10" long. I also have 2 cracks on the lest side of the passenger air bag. The 2 cracks on the passenger air bag might send this broken dash piece flying like a missile should the passenger air bag deploy. I took my denali into the dealer on 1-2016. At this time they offered me a customer assistance program to help me pay for a new dash. At that time there was only one crack about an inch long on the left side of the instrument cluster. I didn't feel a replacement was warranted at that time. Now with 3 cracks i would like the dash replaced. I contacted gmc about this in 2-2017 and now they don't even offer the customer assistance program.

The dash board has cracked in two places, one near the stearing column and one on the perimeter of the passenger side airbag. I'm concerned it will effect the integrity of the airbag. The vehicle was mostly stored in a garage and was not exposed to sunlight for a large amount of time.

Crack on top of dash by pass. Air bag

There is a definitive, unprovoked crack that appeared on the dashboard of my 2011 yukon denali when it was stationary in my secure garage. The entire top panel now shakes and vibrates as a result of this crack. I travel with two small children with me on a daily basis, and am grossly concerned that as the crack continues to grow larger, so does the possibility that should my airbags deploy in the case of an accident, one of my small children or myself will be further injured by the broken plastic on the dashboard. In my opinion, this is indeed a safety issue.

My dashboard cracked within 8 months of me purchasing the vehicle.after replacing the dashboard with a new one, this one is cracking in the exact same spots as the previous one.gmc is telling me it will cost $1000 to replace.i feel this is factory issue and a safety concern as well as it is near where the air bags are.it should be recalled.

The contact stated that the driver side wheel seized and the brakes independently engaged. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 92,431.
