I received notice july 2016 there is a recall on the takata air bags. I was told by the dealer there are no parts available to correct the recall.it is now january 2018 and it still has not been repaired/replaced.
Dashboard cracked near passenger airbag, also fractures around driver side vent and center channel speaker.
Takata inflators : i received a letter sating that my vehicle airbag is under recall and i should contact my local dealership to have them replace them free of charge.i have called them twice since i got the notice and they have told me that i need to contact gmc to find out who the solution to the problem is because as of right now they cannot offer me anything to fix the issue.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags). After contacting hendrix gmc (1127 kentington dr, durham, nc) and the manufacturer, the contact was informed that the parts needed for the recall remedy were not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The vin was unknown.
Takata recall.i called the gmc dealer again for this airbag issue on 10-24-17, and they stated there are no replacement parts available.this has been a concern since may 2016.waiting for parts is not an option, since this issue was identified over a year ago.this is a serious safety concern.
Takata recall-i have contacted our local gmc dealer to have the airbags fixed for this recall and i have been told there are no parts to fix this potentially fatal issue and they have no idea when they will get the parts...totally unacceptable.i want this remedied immediately.
The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that when entering the vehicle, the air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed as having a defective airbag sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 62000. The vin was not available.
I was driving approx. 35 mph and suddenly cracks started forming around the airbag as well as around the steering column. I am concerned for the safety of occupants if airbags deploy.
Takata inflatersjust a recall but no solution
Received notice of a recall possibility for airbag recall.dashboard is cracked and could cause an accident if crack pops while driving vehicle.
I have been notified that there is a recall since may 27, 2016 on the airbags to my denali.however, each time i have spoken to barkley gmc in tuscaloosa al i have been told that there is no parts available or that there is no remedy.yet the website at https://www.airbagrecall.com/en/check-your-vehicle has noted that there is a problem and that i should contact a dealer.if there is a recall and i am being informed on several occasions that it should be serviced then why am i unable to obtain that service?this appears to be a very big concern since it involves a recall on the airbags to my family vehicle.this began in may 2016, which i first was notified of the recall and i just checked online again today and then again contacted barkley gmc in tuscaloosa al and was informed again that there was nothing they could do about this recall.

Takata recall - have received notice after notice of recall around takata inflators and dealer specifies they are notauthorized to fix?just received legal notice that takata has filed for chapter 11 and dealers will still not fix??
The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. While driving 20 mph, all of the side curtain air bags deployed after striking a bump in the road. There were no injuries. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
Cracked dashboard, deeply concerned about airbag safety if deployed due to proximity to crack and sharp edges adjacent to the passenger airbag.door handles falling off, even after replacement.fear of unlawful entry into car.gm unwilling to correct substandard parts.
Takata recall:i was sent a recall notice in july 2016, but still to this date, nothing has been fixed!!!
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Cracks in the dash have appeared.one crack is above left of the instrument panel and the other is forward of and next to the passenger airbag. Vehicle has always stayedunder covered parking. Noticed the cracks as i was driving and dash now rattles.
The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer (reedman toll auto world, 1700 east lincoln hwy #101, langhorne, pa 19047) where it was diagnosed that an air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the vehicle being included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags) and the decision on the petition was pending. The repair for the warning sensor would cause the bumper to have to be removed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
"takata recall" i received a safety recall notice in july 2016 and received a postcard from tk holdings in october 2017 regarding the airbag recall and chapter 11 filing.i have called my gmc dealer on numerous occasions during the past 16 months to schedule the free repair pursuant to the recall and am repeatedly informed the dealer does not have the parts to address the recall and repair my vehicle.i would appreciate receiving more information as to the expected date for the repair of my yukon than "we do not have the parts to repair your car and do not have more information as to the timeline when we will have the parts to repair your car."this is unacceptable based upon the potential risk that exists this exposes to me and my family.
Takata recall this recall has been open for almost 3 years. Gm has not addressed it and people are dying.why hasn't the nhtsa or some other regulatory agency held gm accountable?i understand that gm has applied and been denied 2 times so far to get out of addressing this recall?they are waiting on a denial for the 3rd application? i am outraged that gm has been allowed to get away with this wanted disregard for safety.
Takata recalli have been calling since 2016 and always the same no part available as yet??

The rear passenger door does not lock or open with the remote or front drive door switches. Turns out that the lock actuator has gone bad and has to be replaced.my son is 4 years old and due to the fact that we can not lock the door from the front - he opened the rear door while car was driving . Luckily he was in car seat. This could pose a serious problem for parents with young children. While the car was under warranty the same rear passenger door side lock actuator was replaced 3 times. Unfortunately the car is out of warranty and the problem continues for us.need to have gmc look into this matter. Online there's so many people with the exact same issue. Poses a serious issue for parents with this type of vehicle. Please have gmc recall and investigate this matter before someone truly gets hurt.
2008 gmc yukon - faulty door lock actuators (2 so far)
Drivers side door lock actuator went out; had replaced by gm dealership in wilkesboro, north carolina.approximately 1 year later, the drivers side rear passenger doorlock actuator failed requiring one to manually activate the door lock each time.when needing to unlock the door, it is impossible for the regular driver of this vehicle to reach the door lock latch to manually unlock the door.now. 2 weeks ago, the passenger side front door lock actuator no longer works. This poses a significant safety hazard as small children are able to manipulate the door latch and open the door at any time while in motion.also; for safety of the primary driver of this vehicle; having to unlock the door manually is a tremendous feat "opening the door" for someone to potentially rob, mug, etc. This person while attempting to fumble with climbing all over the vehicle to unlock doors or lock them manually.gmc must know this is a problem as reported by lots of people but has yet to issue a recall to have these parts replaced.aftermarket door lock actuators are not available yet for this year, make and model leaving one at the mercy of the high priced dealerships to continue to gouge patrons who "have no choice" but to rely on their inflated means of repair.unless one is lucky enough to find a wrecked vehicle at a salvage yard for replacement parts.how many people are going to have to continue to deal with this issue before someone steps up and demands that these problems be corrected.i am one of these people!!!!
Intermittent electrical issues. Doors locks and windows don't always work. Sometimeswhen i shut my car off it dies. Like i can't turn it back on. Running boards don't go up, can't lock it, nothing. Dead. Then 15 minutes later it's fine. Sometimes when driving, it's like it's cutting out, not getting enough power or different warning lights will randomly flash. I just never know when it's going to be working properly. I'm just afraid something will happen while we are driving. We also use the yukon to tow a trailer. I need to be able to depend on it. The shop can never duplicate the issue and they just look at me like i'm crazy.
Just brought to my attention the recall on the gmc silverados. I have been having the same issue on my yukon denali. I purchased a car in december of 2016. And i've had at least eight or more incidents. Of the car either not starting or shutting off for 3 to 5 seconds at about a 15 mile an hour turn. I feel as though my vehicle could be affected the same way as these are. I would like a remedy to why my car shuts off during a low-rpm turn. When the car comes back on all gauge lights come on for a brief second. And the thermostat goes up a little bit because the fan had shut off for a minor second.
3 of the door actuators broke and weren't able to be locked using the keypad or the automatic locks.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly stopped as the stabilitrak, the park assist, the brakes, the service engine and the traction control warning lights illuminated. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 97,289. Updated 06/29/16*lj
Power lock failure on 2008 gmc yukon, occurring one @ a time over aprox 1 year. 3 year old seated in rear seat able to open door while vehicle moving as a result of door not locking when locked engaged with power locks switch.
I have a 2008 gmc yukon denali in which the dash board is cracked in approximately 4 places.i think this is a safety issue if i ever get in an accident and my airbags deploy.if the air bag deploys i think this dash board will also hurt someone.
The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that a rod prematurely fractured into the fuel tank and a loud noise was heard. After parking the vehicle, the contact noticed that fuel had leaked onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer issued more than ten tsbs on the fuel system, but a manufacturer recall campaign was not issued. The manufacturer stated that a warranty would not cover the repairs and provided no solution. The approximate failure mileage was 233,000.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that the front driver's side exterior and interior power doors would not open when using the automatic key fob. The doors could only be opened manually. In addition, the rear lift gate would not release unless manually opened. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000. The vin was unavailable.

2008 gmc denali. Consumer states mechanical problems with vehicle *tgwthe consumer stated starting in june 2011, the driver's door lock/actuator had to be replaced. Then in may 2012, the rear left passenger door lock/actuator was replaced.in august 2012, the door lock on the front passenger side had to be replaced.the consumer stated when the door locks malfunctioned, he was unable to open the door, and he had to reach in the door and manually pull the lock up.
Cpsc:i have a 2008 gmc yukon denali with 80k miles. All 4 exterior door handles are broken because of a manufacturers defect which has been recalled in previous years. The doors will close and lock the passengers in the car on occasion and could cause a serious safety hazard in an emergency. Also the interior of each door handle is coated with a "chrome" surface covering that peels back and has incredibly sharp edges which have cut all 5 of my family members, this is also a known issue with denali's and has been recalled in the past.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle idled, but failed to accelerate. The contact had to pull over to the side of the road and shut the engine off. After a few minutes, the vehicle restarted and was driven home. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
Transmission gear indicator, prnd3, and driver information center impossible to read under conditions of bright sunlight.
Vehicle has transmission defect. Merging into traffic is very dangerous. The transmission often selects too high of a gear and there is no power for the vehicle to accelerate. This puts the driver/passengers in danger due to oncoming traffic. After several seconds, the vehicle will sometimes downshift into too low of a gear, causing it to lunge forward at an extremely high rate of speed that is difficult to control. Happens all the time. Dealer and gmc have looked at the vehicle several times and refuse to fix the problem saying it is normal operation.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali. The contact stated that a child was seated in the third row seating and accidentally tangled the seat belt around his neck. The contact attempted to release the seat belt, but the seat belt was very tight and would not release. The contact had to call the authorities, who appeared on the scene to cut the seat belt loose. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The contact stated that she felt there should be an emergency release mechanism equipped with the seat belts in the event of a similar accident. The failure mileage was 70,000.

I noticed while driving my dashboard has two cracks one on the hump where steering wheel is and the other on passenger side airbag.the crack on drive side is huge.and in the middle of dashboard where the air vent is there is now starting to be a separation.
Dashboard cracked near passenger airbag, also fractures around driver side vent and center channel speaker.
Plastic dashboard is cracking.gmc dealer quoted a $1,000.00 replacement cost.dealer proposed my cost would be $600.00.same dealer replaced cracked dashboard once before at no cost to me.this certainly appears to be a manufacturer's defect but dealer disagrees.
Crack forming on dashboard near left corner of airbag. My denali is always parked in a garage and i started noticing it last month. I've seen other people post their dashboard pics with the same crack.
Cracks in dashboard , around airbag. After researching internet seems to be a common problem. I called gmc 1-800 # they said they had never heard of such a problem..look it upits all over the internet..
Cracked dashboard, deeply concerned about airbag safety if deployed due to proximity to crack and sharp edges adjacent to the passenger airbag.door handles falling off, even after replacement.fear of unlawful entry into car.gm unwilling to correct substandard parts.
I'm trying to see if gm is recalling for cracked dashboards
While parked in a parking lot, was loading the vehicle with groceries and could not get the back leftdoor closed, was very unsafe could not drive the vehicle like that, now the drivers side door on the left side is doing the same thing, very expensive to fix, was told the rubber was defective around both doors and the latches were rusted what would have happened if the door flew off and hit someone on the highway? who would be responsible? i think this issue should have definitely been on a safety recall, now of course, the warranty had expired.
Cracks in the dash have appeared. One crack is above left of the instrument panel and the other is forward of and next to the passenger airbag. Vehicle has always stayed under covered parking. Noticed the cracks as i was driving and dash now rattles.
Cracks all along the dashboard. One all the way up to the instrument panel. One down the center. Several around the passenger air bag. I'm afraid the airbag won't work properly because of the instability of the dashboard frame around it, or that plastic pieces from the dash could come flying off in a wreck...
Dash has cracked severely.i am concerned that is the airbag deploys that the sharp hard plastic that is cracked will cause injury.
Dashboard cracked near passenger airbag, also fractures around driver side vent and center channel speaker.
Dashboard cracking along top over instrument cluster and passenger side air bag.car is garaged when not in use.
I went to open my drivers side door to get into my car and the door handle just ripped off. I could not believe it. I'm not a strong woman and i did nothing different then any other day. Now i have to climb through the passenger side and open my door till i can get it fixed. About a year ago i had my back door handle come loose. It did not rip off, but it was not functional. I had to pay to get it fixed. One little thing after another with this car.ma 10/2updated 11/08/2017

Three cracks on the dashboard.
The dash has cracked around the passenger airbag as well as the airbag by gauge housing on the driver side. These cracks are large enough that the entire dash rattles from vibrations and could possibly affect the proper airbag deployment.
Cracks in the dash have appeared.one crack is above left of the instrument panel and the other is forward of and next to the passenger airbag. Vehicle has always stayedunder covered parking. Noticed the cracks as i was driving and dash now rattles.
Dash cracked in 2 places: above driving wheel and around air bag. This is the second time i will have had to replace this part in 2 years. After the first replacement, i had been fairly diligent about using a windshield/dash reflective cover when parked outside, but does not seem to have helped prevent same situation from occurring again with cracks in exactly the same places. Cracks on replaced dash are getting worse and entire dash vibrates and rattles when driving as other attachment pieces seem to be cracking underneath. Similar complaints suggest continued cracking and progression could expose parts under dash, possibly even effect airbag deployment. The quote for parts and labor i received from my local gmc service was $1,000 for parts and labor. Due to the number of gm customers experiencing the exact same thing, this appears to be a faulty component to an otherwise good vehicle, and should be issued a recall and replaced with a dash that lasts substantially longer than 1.5-2 years.
Received notice of a recall possibility for airbag recall.dashboard is cracked and could cause an accident if crack pops while driving vehicle.
The vehicle does not accelerate when the accelerator is pressed. The vehicle take 5-10 seconds before responding, resulting in delay of merging and stalling at stop lights. It becomes dangerous when entering a highway and taking off, i have had individuals almost slam into me and i have ran into a construction zone. It suddenly take off, leaving the driver off guard.
My bridgestone dueler h/l alenza tires are extremely dry rotted. So bad thatthe sidewall cracked bad enough to leak air. Tires still have lots of tread left.
