Dash board cracked in multiple places. If airbags deploy, shards of the dashboard will go flying. After research this seems to be a common problem with gmc.
Dashboard cracking by passenger airbag and on top driver side dashboard.
I noticed a crack to the right of the instrument cluster and then later noticed a crack near the passenger-side frontal airbag when my suv had about 59,000 miles on it.the cracks have grown and are now causing complete separation.i took my yukon to ewing gmc on 4/29/2019 where they acknowledged that there is a design flaw however it wasn;t considered a safety issue and thus not covered.they quickly handed me a $1200 quote to replace it.i do not see how a separated dash (especially near the passenger airbag) is not a safety concern.if my passenger airbag goes off with the dashboard in the state it is now, dangerous shards of plastic from the dashboard will go flying and become potentially lethal projectiles.
The dashboard of our 2014 gmc yukon denali has major cracks in it, especially around the airbags.the truck is well taken care of, and has covered parking.there have been no accidents in the car, and we are the only owners.

I have replaced two door handles on this vehicle. One under warranty and one i had to pay to $180.00 to have replaced and in both case my 6 year old had them come unattached from theframe while he was trying to get in. I have owned three of these vehicles and in thefirst model year 2010 the door handle fell off, in the2012 model year thedoor handle fell off as well. You would think gm would have addressed it in thesecond model year but they did notthe dealers, where it has been repaired say it is a design defect, thefasteners are undersized to hold thehandle onto theframe. One would think that gm would have addressed that once it appeared to befrequent event. The dealersnow stock it as a replacement part. Upon contacting gm they told me if nhtsa does not think it is a problem we are not going to address it. They finally changed thefasteners in the 2017 model year. You would think thata door handle coming off might be dangerous but mycontact with a gm customer assistance employeedid not seem to think it was serious enough for gm to address as a recall or a policy exception..i think any child who pulls on a door handle and it comes off is a safety issue and i am appalled that gm has such a cavalier attitude toward safety. They do not wish to call it a design flaw while all the dealers that have repaired the handle for me say it is.. I am hoping you will investigate this before some child pulls on the handle and falls into theroad injuring themselves.door handles are not suppose to fall off a car at any age.i can provide you with receipts and names of dealerships.- in fact i can give you thevin numbers of thevehicles an you will see the repair to door handles.
