Dashboard has cracked in multiple places including around the air bag causing concern for safety if the vehicle is involved in a crash.
The dashboard is cracking on the drivers side instrument cover and right into the air bag dash location.only 43,000 miles mainly garage kept and sunshade installed when out of cover.the same thing happened on a 2007 suburban.
Dash is cracked around the air bag. Worried air bag will not function properly. This is a defect with several gm suv's and trucks. Gm will not fix

Over the past four months my 2012 yukon has been hesitating / stopping. I have accelerate into in the intersection and vehiclehesitated almost causing an accident. The check engine lighthas came on and off numerous times, flashing stabilization and traction switching on and off.i have taken it to the dealership at least five times each time they said there was nothing wrong with my vehicle second to the last time they stated i needed a new fuel pump which they replaced and the problem continued with in two daysand continues to this day .the last time i took it in they stated there is an issue with gm vehicles from 2013 to 2017 causing stalling hesitation lack of performance in a setting in high ambient temperatures and there is no fix for it . I believe this is a great safety riskfor individuals who live in high climate areas .
Two cracks on the dash board have formed. One on the left side front of instrument cluster. The second on the passenger side intersecting the passenger airbag. Unknown if its interfering with airbag deployment.

I have been a long time buyer of gm products, i still have a 99 tahoe, 07 gmc savanna and an 02 gmc sierra hd 2500, recently purchased a 2012 yukon xl denali used with 22,000 miles on it from old saybrook gmcin ct, clean as a whistle everything looked, went to wash it and spray underneath in the first week after i bought it and noticed underneath the frame wax all pealing and frame very rusted, along with many other things rusting. My 02with 170,000 miles on it looks better then this. Also went on line and there are a lot of people complaining about the same thing. Im sure more would if they looked under there car.this has got to be a factory defect and they need to fix this problem. The dealer is telling me thats normal , i disagree seeing i have multiple cars/ gmcsmy wife has a 2012 passat we bought new and is spotless underneath, and we have done nothing to the car.

Will follow up with more info,i live in the north east and have spoken with tech's at gm dealers and they have stated that its just a cold weather issue so gm wont fix the issue,my vehicle has had 8 or 9 door handles replacedthe fasteners inside of door are plastic and water gets in there freezes and cracks plastic then door handle basically comes off in you hand,gm refuses to stand behind it and soon wants to charge me approx. 180 every time this happens again they have replace 8 or 9 already and its a 2012,i feel this is both a safety issue and a basic faulty product, design on gm's part that they will not fix.
My vehicle was parked in my driveway, stationary, on a suburban street in a small town overnight beginning at about 8pm on friday august 12,2016. The following morning, august 13, 2016 at at about 7:30 am i entered the vehicle to go to the store and observed a large crack running perpendicular with the dash from near the window to a over the instrument cluster. This is a known defect with similar gm models between 2007-2013(14). The safety concern is that the poorly crafted plastic dashboard cracks easily with no pressure applied to it. This means that that in the event of a collision, with great pressure applied, the dash would disintegrate at an alarming rate and would lead to shards of plastic impailing the occupants of the vehicle with varying amounts of harm. This defect is well documented by several other gm suv/truck owners for this year span of production.

The upper dashboard has cracked all the way through above the steering column exposing many components intended to remain covered in the car. Due to the crack occurring the width of the upper dashboard, i am concerned about the dashboard coming dislodged during a crash or forceful braking incident and injuring vehicle passengers.

Cracked dashboard to the right of the trip/message center on the drivers side.
My yukon xl's dash board is cracking all over it soon pieces will fly off of it.i only have 47k miles on it.here are pictures
Dashboard is cracked and continues to grow. Dealer said it was $2000 to fix and said almost all of these models come in with the same crack. There was no specific incident that led to the crack.

The dash board is cracking and the dealer will not cover any repair because the vehicle is out of warranty. When the dash board fails to protect the electronics there is a danger of loss of control. My position is this is a common problem with this model and is a manufacturing defect and a recall should be issued.
