Takata recalli have contacted and called every dealership about this airbag recall and they all tell me the same thing that it is at the mercy of general motors and they can not do any work until gm give the green light. I have tried to contact both gm and tk holdings by phone but to my surprise no answer so i emailed them both as well. I read that there is a deadline of december 27th 2017 and i do not want the run around. Thank you

Takata recalli have been sent a notice saying that there is a recall and i would be contacted as to when it can be fixed.still nothing and now i get this notice of chapter 11 bankruptcy.i am not sure at this point what action to take.is my vehicle safe to drive?when will i get the recall notice from gmc that i can have it fixed.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali xl. The contact stated that the driver side dashboard was split. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the dashboard was splitting due to the malfunction of the air bag. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,043. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

I bought this suv from legends auto sale. After i bought it, i notice the engine bay was real rusty like its been in water or driven over lots of water. I didnt get a car fax at time of purchases but did car fax myself , and it appeared that vehicle is from new orleans. With all the dirt and grim coming out of vehicle its diffently from new orleans. So far i replaced new pads and rotors, master cylinder, brake switch, new spark plugs and wires. The problem occurring now is that my trac light and abs light will come on after half hour of driving and car seizes up and i'm unable to accelerate. I would have to shut off engine and let rest for half hour to an hour before lights goes away and i'm able to move again. I'm not sure but it might be due to it being in the flood thus causing corrosion and rusting in all parts of vehicle. I don't have documents on me at this time as i misplaced it but can get it again and upload image.

Takata recall.when will this manufacturer recall number 2049152, nhtsa recall number 16v383 be resolved?information between gm and nhtsa has been exchanged multiple times and there has been no resolution even though the dates for information exchange and petitions is long past.

Cracked dash near airbag. This seems dangerous.

Takata recalllocal dealer continues to refuse to replace defective airbag involved in gm recall 49151 issued in a july 2016!this vehicle was purchased in louisiana and has spent much of its life there - louisiana is considered a critical, first priority area under you recall. I now understand that gm has submitted a third request for waiver - please deny and require gm to follow your order.

The dash has severely cracked on the dashboard surrounding the airbag and i fear in the case of an accident this would turn into shrapnel.

"takata recall".been trying to get air bags replaced but dealerships keep saying they cant get them in

Just like hundreds of others, my dash has started cracking right at the top left corner of the airbag.seems like a manufacturing flaw since there are so many that have done this in the exact same place! my vehicle is garaged and in excellent condition besides the dash being cracked!

My dash has cracked in two spots. One by the steering wheel and the other by the passenger airbag. There's a facebook where almost 7000 people are reporting the same issue. Https://www.facebook.com/groups/gmdashcrack/

I understand that there is a safety recall for the air bag on my 2008 gmc yukon xl denali.to correct the problem, i contacted the local gmc dealer, key buick gmc, and was informed that the recall was set-up in july, 2016, however, there is no remedy available so far.based on my understanding the air bag in the vehicle can explode.i assume that gm and/or the manufacturer of the air bag should place this matter as their utmost priority to come-up with the remedy before human lives are adversely effected.please advise me how i can make my vehicle safer.

I was rear ended at approximately 8:00 am this morning. Both my vehicle and the truck that hit me likely suffered damage that will result in them being totaled by the insurance companies. I have a major concern about my airbags not deploying. I have not yet read the police report, but the dodge ram truck that hit me while i was stopped at a light hit my yukon with great force. This was on a highway (204th street) in elkhorn, ne

Dashboard cracked at left corner of airbag. Also on left corner of instrument cluster dome.

Our 2008 gmc yukon denali xl has developed a crack in the dashboard right at the corner of the airbag.we have concerns if the passenger side airbag ever deploys, sharp pieces of the broken dash may break loose and injure passengers in our vehicle.

Dash is cracked over instrument panel and into air bag compartment making this a huge safety issue.

Have a recall on the passenger takata airbag for over a year.dealership indicates that they do not have the part and will not have a replacement part.gm is stating it's safe to drive, even though20 people have been killed related to the takata airbag system.manufacturers should have an obligation on keeping their customers safe.also no response from gm on the depreciation of the vehicles value due to this dangerous defect.

The 2008 gmc yukon and 2008 gm suburbans have a widespread well-documented, repeated failure of the door lock actuators as a result of a defect which gm will not address via recall.i have had two separate incidents of failed door locks in my 2008 gmc yukon.when the actuator fails, my children are able to open the car door while the car is in motion.gm should be responsible for these expensive repairs even after the warranty period expires since the door lock actuator failures are widespread, common (even occurring repeatedly in the same car) and create a danger of children potentially falling from the car while the car is moving.

Driving at 70 mph on highway. Vehicle gauges begin to act erratically, vehicle heaves and lurches, then 100% power failure.nothing worked, even hazzard lights. Airbag light flashing onand off. Was able to put vehicle in neutral and move to the side of the road where the vehicle stopped. There was no power at all, had to manually open door locks. After 10-15 minutes, the power came back on and i was able to restart the vehicle and drive home.happened again on 3/23/14. Again driving at highway speeds, the electric components (radio, gauges, power cord accessories) begin acting erratically and then 100% complete power failure while driving. The gm dealer cannot duplicate or find the problem.i feel 100% unsafe in the vehicle especially with my kids.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali xl. When startingthe vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where thecomputer was reset. Approximately one week later, the checkengine light re-illuminated and the dealer informed the contact to continue driving the vehicle and the light would shut off.approximately 30 miles later, the check engine light shut off. Threemonths later when starting the vehicle, the traction control, abs, brake and check engine warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. Within minutes, the abs, traction control and brake warning lights shut off and the vehicle would not shift out of first gear. The contact shut off the engine and when restarting, the vehicle resumed normal operation but the check engine light was still illuminating. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and was not serviced. The failure continued to recur intermittently. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately eight times with no resolution. The failure mileage was 14,000 and the current mileage was 59,778.

Driver side power door locks work intermittently.horn sounds indicating door is locked however it doesn't lock.also remote start does work leaving vehicle a target for theft.also three of four of the exterior door handles broke and had to be replaced.

Was waiting for a red light to change and suddenly my dashboard lit up saying it was reducing power to the engine, disabling stability control and something else.. I was not able to drive the car for for 2 hours after that... I.got the car towed to my house and when i went back to fallowing morning the car started with out the engine light on..2 days after the same thing happened while driving on the highway at 65 mph, it was a scary experience since the car reduced power very fast to 20 mph.. Almost got into an accident.

This is twice that i've received the p2138 throttle body sensor code, which causes reduced engine power and has subsequent issues around stabilitrack/awd.the first time was in the middle of an intersection, we limped out of the intersection at 3 mph.today, my wife limped home from the store.this is extremely frustrating and should have been recalled a long time ago!!

The contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon denali xl. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled as the check engine light illuminated. The failure recurred at 60,000 miles. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Engine failure at 64,000 miles.drove vehicle from home and then vehicle immediately began shaking violently. Truck driving fine up until that point.no warning signs.no check engine light beforehand.vehicle now at gmc dealership and needs new engine for up to $10,000.gmc is not covering the expense. Gave $2,000 towards the repair. Vehicle past warranty period.engine should last longer than 64,000 miles.regularly maintained.

Strong gasoline fumes leaking into the vehicles passenger's interior of a 2008 yukon xl denali.it occurs intermittently, but is an overpowering odor causing nausea and dizziness, and partial blackouts of driver and passengers.no problems evident.

Door lock failure. Power locks on 3 out of 4 doors have failed within the first 30,000 miles, under normal usage. Over $600 to repair two doors, but failed again. This is a potential safety hazard as these doors cannot be unlocked and then opened from the outside.

2008 gmc yukon xl denali.driver door and driver side rear locks failed.with auto locks, the locks on all doors engage when the car is in gear.granddaughter sitting in rear seat in booster with seat belt.driving vehicle, she pulled on door handle and the door opened.stopped vehicle and attempted to lock doors with both key fob and interior switch, neither door would lock.able to lock doors manually.unaware of the problem until incident.she could have fallen out of vehicle if not for booster and seat belt.no warning noted or posted on driver information center.incidentally, when key fob lock is activated, car alarm is activated, however driver door and rear door are not locked.vehicle does not realize this and remote start function still operates.now car can be started, but anyone can just walk up and drive off in the vehicle, because the door locks are not functioning.most concern is for safety of passengers, especially children.the autolock doors with gears engaged is an advertised safety feature.very dangerous when this system fails...especially with no warning lights to indicate failure.would appreciate a recall, or at the very least a warning to owners that this could occur and create a hazard.

2008 denali xl - door lock failures. 1st repair was under warranty @ 34000 miles, replaced left rear door lock.2nd repair was 8/4/10 for left front and right rear door locks replaced for $487.00 @ 40,000 miles (over warranty).dealer explained that many 2008 & 2009 gmc denalis have been coming in with door lock failures.this is a safety hazard as you cannot unlock the rear doors from the outside when a child is in a carseat for instance.should be a recall.

Dashboard cracked at left corner of airbag. Also on left corner of instrument cluster dome.

The dash above the gauge cluster has a huge crack and there is also another crack by the passenger side airbag. I noticed it when i started the vehicle after it had been parked all night in my driveway. There is no other damage to the vehicle.

Our 2008 gmc yukon denali xl has developed 3 separate cracks in the dashboard. One is right in the middle of the top of the passenger side airbag, one is a very large crack near the windshield and running up over the instrument panel and one is on driver side near large crack at instrument panel. We have concerns if the passenger side airbag ever deploys, sharp pieces of the broken dash may break loose and injure passengers in our vehicle.

Driver side power door locks work intermittently.horn sounds indicating door is locked however it doesn't lock.also remote start does work leaving vehicle a target for theft.also three of four of the exterior door handles broke and had to be replaced.

Complete perforation of frame by rust, impacting ability to securely mount front anti-roll bar. Discovered in march of 2016. Gm has offered no resolution.

The interior door handle chrome is peeling off, and it cut my wife's hand today. There are 3 of the 4 doors that have it peeling, and i am worried one of my children will cut there fingers also.

My dash has cracked about 5 inches above the instrument cluster for no apparent reason.a search reveals this is seemingly a common issue with my year vehicle.

Defective dashboard results in craking: the driver-side cracks occur to the left of the instrument cluster, while those on the passenger side take place in the area surrounding the airbag, closer to the middle of the dash. I concern that a cracked dash at the airbag deployment point could be a safety hazard.

90k miles on my 2008 yukon denali xl.dash is cracking in front of instrument cluster on dash.seems to be a not too uncommon defect.ive attempted to glue it until it can be repaired.

Potential safety concern over tires losing air pressure due to leaks caused at tire/wheel interface.root cause is that chrome plating on aluminum wheels are peeling, resulting in corrosion of the aluminum substrate causing inability to achieve proper sealing between the tire and the rim.it is known in the industry that chrome plating on aluminum has a limited life expectancy (approximately 2 years) before peeling of the chrome occurs...more robust coating methods are available, such as physical vapor deposition (pvd). ..
