Velcro rear safety belt comfort guide mounted onside ofrearseat does not securely remain in position.please give any further details.

Have had to repeatedly replace circuit board located in left rear taillight which controls the brake light/turn signal.

Gm passlock system faulty leaving me stranded far from home.thankfully, i was not in the road. My vehicle wouldn't start.this is a huge problem and many people have experienced it.

The contact owns a 1999 gmc suburban.the front passenger side and both rear door handles failed on five occasions.the driver's side and rear barn doors failed twice.as a result, the rear passenger doors could not be opened manually.the electric doors would work sporadically, but also would not work for days at a time.the dealer stated that the age of the vehicle could be the source of the failures.the occupants seated in the third row and rear seats are trapped when the failures occur.the doors are unable to be opened within the passenger compartment.the occupants must climb out of the vehicle from the front passenger or driver's side doors.currently, the rear passenger side door has completely failed again and the rear driver's side door operates randomly.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the cylinoid locks on the door, which temporarily remedied the failure for approximately one year.the failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 208,000.updated 06/12/09 the power door locks failed. At the time of starting vehicle battery exploded, spreading acid all overengine compartmen.battery had been already replaced before due toacid leak.ac, delco. Please provide more information.

The battery failed completely and suddenly.the vehicle was operating fine. Then suddenly there was absolutely no power.on inspection, the oem delco battery case had cracked and acid spilled.positive battery post was loose in case.gmc dealer reports many similar failures.

Engine failed to start numerous times.engine back fired and damaged starter.found oem battery had leaked acid from positive terminal all over electrical wiring harness, rubber hoses, ac tubing, frame and dissolved protective hose wear shields.dealer said he had seen this a lot and to call gmc as the battery only had 36 month warranty.battery warranty has nothing to do with leaking acid and extensive damage to wiring and hoses.

Consumer states that the delco ac freedom battery was replace due to a faulty battery and alternator. Now at the present time the second replacement is leaking battery acid unto the battery cable. Nlm

The right rear transmission seal broke twice and leaked fluid onto the rear brake.this resulted in loss of braking ability.the positive battery terminal leaked acid and caused the battery tray to rust*mr

Pe99073; battery leaks acid; the battery is leaking acid, which causes interior corrosion. About 4 months ago the battery was replaced because of the same reason. Please provide any further information.

Since purchasing suv new,i have had 3 failures to crank due to a design defect in the hot lead cables that attach to the battery. The lead washer used between the two leads becomes misshaped and loses the ability to cause a connection. The danger to human life is directly related to where the driver happens to be when this connection fails to occur. I have broken down at home (which was safe) ,200 miles from home at ahotel(which was not safe)andin the school parking lot.this is a common problem among the many i know that have gmc suv's or trucks that use this dual hot lead system.it is a defect in the design because the lead washers they use become misshaped over time.as you can see i have less than 35,000 miles on this vehicle. A vehicle with that mileage should be more dependable.gmc should fix the defectorextend the warranty for these failures.

Door acuators faulty.power steering pump replaced. Fuel guage faulty.security system overrides starter which does not allow the vehicle to be started.we have had the vehicle "serviced" three times for "door actuators" as we were told this is what was causing security system to shut down vehicle.this did not solve the problem.gmc national service center was not helpful.they did not return calls or set-up special service appointment at local dealer as they promised.there are several incident dates of when we could not start our vehicle.will use july 29th as one date, unable to start vehicle while on summer vacation in lake tahoe area.if this happens during real emergency it would be unfortunate.

#7 spark plug would fail.also, changedintake manifold & head gaskets.problemwas not intermittent. Happened all time. Took vehicle to shop for repairs & problem still exists.

When first sticking key in ignition the vehicle engine does not turn over. It just makes a clicking noise. Vehicle has to be restarted a couple of times in order to start. Dealer has not seenvehicle.

We have owned the vehicle for just over a month and it has left us stranded 5 times (unsafe/unreliable) and we have had it towed 3 times.the vehicle did not start all those times.the dealer has given us a big run around trying to fix the problem.even though we did buy it used it is still under warranty.our main concern is that we know are afraid that it has been imported from canada and we are having trouble finding the past history on the vehicle.we went to carfax and they only have records fromt the dealer to us and not the original owner.it really is disturbing to not know if they previous owner was having the same problem.is this a lemon?will it stop running as we are driving?will it leave us stranded in a bad section of town?please direct me as to where to find information in canada.thank you valerie.

Smoke came from behind door panels and dash area, claim 46-0355-298.

Repeated excessive wear on front brake pads and now on rear brake drums.we are very conservative drivers and typically get 80-100,000 miles on a set of brakes.this is our second set of front pads. We do tow heavy loads. The suburban is equipped with a heavy duty towing package . It has already had the steering gear box replaced by the dealer. The front pads have been replaced once and the rear brakes have been adjusted, also the master cylinder has been replaced by the dealer.the brakes just do not seem of sufficient capacity to stop a vehicle of this mass towing load.we've owned suburban's since 1973 so we do feel we have a degree of experience in this area.finally when the vehicle is driven at highway speeds and a bump is hit, the entire electrical system shorts out for approximately 1/6-1/5 of a second causing everything to go dark. I suspect an exposure in a wiring harness.*****dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut over to artemis****763731

Smoke came from behind door panels and dash area, claim 46-0355-298.

While driving at any speed passenger noticed that fluid was leaking from underneath thedashboard.consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic could not duplicate the problem.

When starting the vehicle consumer noticed black smoke coming from the dashboard.consumer turned the vehicle off, and called the fire department. The fire department was able to put the fire out.

While driving up the interstate, the headlights went out. Moved the tilt steering wheel a notch or two and the lights came back on. We drove a few more miles and they went out again, this time accompanied by a burning smell. Took it to gm garage (who wanted $90 an hour) to look at it. I checked it out myself and found wires corroded in the harness (located in steering column) and two burned through. Cleaned the wires and soldered them back. Contacted gm about problem, received no help. Checked with insurance company and filed a statement with them. Wiring harness will have to be replaced.

Left rear intake manifold leak. On a 1999 vehicle with only 48,520 miles (light useage for mom and kids) this problem seems a bit premature. My brother who owns a 1998 gmc with about 60,000 miles had simular problem. The part must be defective as both problems are very simular in nature. Cost to fix $700 to $1,000 . Thank you

Without warning vehicle stalledwhile the consumer was driving at an undetermined speed. Consumer contacted with dealer on two separate occasions, butproblem still occurs.

1999 gmc suburban. Intake manifold gasket failed. This occurred after replacing the water pump which failed for the second time in less than a year. My mechanic says this is epidemic with the gm vehicles which use the dexcool antifreeze. My experience bears this out: my previous vehicle was a 1999 chevy suburban, which had the same problems. There should be a recall of all these vehicles!

Intake manifold leaks due to a defect in the design/materials of the gasket.the material prematurly breaksdown causing leaking of the manifold.

#7 spark plug would fail.also, changedintake manifold & head gaskets.problemwas not intermittent. Happened all time. Took vehicle to shop for repairs & problem still exists.

Vehicle engine will intermittently stall or cut out at highway speeds. This condition occurs approximately once or twice a month under varied driving conditions.the vehicle will restart immediately after stalling.several times when this has occurred, the service engine light will come on, but it will turn off after 20-30 miles of driving.this has been occurring for over a year now, i have taken the vehicle to three gm dealerships, and they claim they cannot replicate the problem.they have replaced the fuel pump at my expense, and the catalytic converter under warranty.i have also taken the vehicleto two independent shops for the same problem and they have also not been able to replicate the problem or offer a solution, other than replacing the basic components (spark plugs , plug wires, fule filter etc), which i have had done..this is an extremely dangerous problem, primarily because when the engine stalls, the power brakes and steering also fail.i live in a mountainous region of virginia and have had this happen while driving mountain switchbacks.this vehicle weighs almost six thousand pounds, and a loss of power brakes and steering while descending steep mountain grades with sharp curves creates an extremely dangerous and life threatening situation.thank you for your assistance.

Vehicle has defective transmission/ engine, transaxle, ring and pinion,gear/engine bearing/brake booster/ front brake pads and calipers, and suspension.consumer feels vehicle was poorly manufactured, especially when pulling trailor or with load. Please provide further information.

All these failure have been the same. There are others inclunce engine heads.

Rotors were turned repeatedly. We saved the old ones incase they were metallurgically defective. The oil leaked occurred when towing was planned. Gmc has offered to repurchase the vehicle. The a/c turnes on and off, but i forgot when the leak was fixed.

Every time vehicle is driven with the headlights on,headlights flicker on and go off.vehicle has been taken to the dealership four times in a six-month period. Dealerwas not able to fix the problem. Also, doors are warped/engine runs rough/replaced differential/brakes are locking up.

Intermittentlyvehicle will stall out and die without warning. Dealer is inspectingvehicle and has not been able to duplicate problem.consumer states that vehicle has stalled while putting vehicle in park without turning ignition off.

While driving at any speedvehicleshuts off without warning. Leaving the driver with no brakes and power steering.driver had to stand on the brakes before the truck came to a complete stop.dealer is not able to duplicate the problem. Please provide any further information.

Consumer heard clattering noise in the engine during acceleration, dealer discovered the engine had spun the #1 main bearing, sending metal throughout the engine.

While driving daughter to school, pulled into the parking lot andvehicle stalled, and would not start again.hadvehicle towed to the dealer, and they broke the fuel sending unit. Which they replaced.but, still having problem withvehicle stalling.engine check light came on and stayed on.they pressurized the tank.now the gas gauge does read properly.

The a/c stunk; i felt insecure with the brakes soft most times.twice we drove 45 mi. To midway and they did not take the vehicle in, gmc said to go to nearest dealer.

Separate 14 incidents are reported on 2 complaints.state farm auto was informed, contacted repaired at coulter gmc and got abs fixed.2 weeks is max brakes work.

I lost track of brake failures. The tires wear excessively and need balancing and rotation.there is a vibration from the gas pedal, but nothing is found. The better business bureau resulted in an unsatisfactory offer - i have to pay to clear the title to have the car taken back. No other '99 is like ours to replace it.

1999 gmc suburban suv: leaking intake manifold spilling coolant to environment.engine damaged as coolant mixed with oil and/or fuel.50k miles, driven by soccer mom to school, practice, church.epidemic problem per family mechanic performs dozens of these repairs per month.high expense for this premature failre: repair $780.

While drivingthe vehicle overheated.the dealer determined that the intake manifold was leaking coolant which caused the engine to overheat.

Dt*: the contact stated the gas gauge located on the instrument panel failed.also, while parked in the garage, there was a liquid observed on the floor.the dealership determined the intake manifold was leaking.

Consumer noticed high pitched whistle from the air vents, dealer found problem to be caused by a small bladder in the air conditioning unit which once removed is almost impossible to replace correctly.

12/5/00 replacement of a/c compressor still has not corrected the problem. Tired and disgusted with dealership. Had other problems with engine hesitates when taking off & driving 30 mph, unable to find cause, dealer states calif. Gas.

The consumer stated water was leaking from the rear a/c causing mold to accumulate inside the vehicle.this problem caused the consumer to feel ill.please provide more information.

Headlights flashed on and off. Was told bydealer that they could not find the cause. Consumer alsohad contact withgmc which has not helped her.

The lampholder assembly has printed-wiring sheet to route current to bulb sockets.during manufacture, this circuit layer is mounted to the structure of the lamp holder assembly with a plastic riveting process.a (plastic and thus non-conducting) rivet passes *through* a conductor common to the brake and turn lamps, nearlysevering the conductor. Eventually the small thread of remaining conductor fails entirely, resulting in a lack of safety signalling that can not be repaired by bulb replacement.** eventually, all assemblies with this defect will fail, as the current required to light the brake and turn lamps far exceeds the capacity of the hair-thin thread of copper that survives the hole punched for the rivet ** this appears to be a design defect. The failure point is also one of the test point areas on the assembly.there appears to be no engineering reason why the rivet must be in this location, and i suspect that a cad error caused a rivet location and a test point location to be erroneously combined. The surface insulation material is not present at the test points to allow testing either by automated equipment or service technicians.the assembly design had to coordinate three functional layers -- the test-point holes, the printed wiring layer, and the rivet-studs which pass through from the plastic structure of the assembly.i believe that a cad error caused a rivet stud (and its associated thru-hole) to be erroneously co-located with a test point. This one-line-at-a-time text entry field is ludicrous. You ask for a detailed description, and then make it nearly impossible to do so.

For a brand new suburban i don't feel it should be having major part problems. No safety defect listed.

While driving downroad at an extended amount of time vehicle will shut off. Took to dealer , and they did a program upgrade. Consumer continued to have problem, but dealer couldn't duplicate the problem.

Fuel pump/connector failure.initially engine would shut down intermittently.on last occasion, vehicle engine shut down resulting in loss of power steering, power brakes, etc.would not restart.former gm mechanic told me that he witnessed this problem numerous times and found most cases involved failure of electrical connector or ground connection at fuel pump.

Failure of fuel pump on 1999 gmc suburban with 45 gallon tank, 350 engine.left vehicle in non starting situation.

Fuel pump has been replaced two times due to loud noises. Also, transmission was replaced because it did not shift gears automatically, rough switch. Abs brakes did not operate properly, causingextended stopping distance. In addition, two tires replaced in the rear due to vibration of vehicle. Dealer contacted, and are attempting to remedy the problems that exist. Provide further information.

Dt:the consumer stated that while driving with a quarter tank of gas the vehicle stalled without any previous warning.then, it completely died.the consumer pushed the vehicle to the side of the road.the consumer was finally able to restart the vehicle after several attempts, and drive home.the next day he inspected the connection to the fuel pump.he discovered there was low voltage to the electrical assembly area. Nhtsa recall campaign 05v155000was issued involving the same type of vehicle.this vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vin, but was experiencing the same problem as indicated in the recall.the consumer called gm ,who suggested a diagnostic test.no repairs have been made due to the expense of the repairs.(11/22/05)*sc updated 01/10/07.

Vehicle has been to dealer 5 times.fuel injector gets clogged, and vehicle will stall in traffic. Dealer says additives in gasoline clogs injector.the engine stalling resulted in loss of steering power and brake failures. The manufacturer extended the warranty admitting the problem. The consumer finally turned in the vehicle to the manufacturer.

Consumer's car was pulling toright and braking toleft. Engine rpm increases when foot is off the accelerator while driving.this issue started approximately 4 months ago and is on going, each time the vehicle is driven.this is unintended acceleration.

Noisy fuel pump in gas tank, non functioning fuel guage. Spoke with several friends who own full size gm pickups, suv's and vans from same era. Fuel guage, fuel pump problems have occured in 5 out of 6 vehicles.

Injector pump failure causing the vehicle to just stall when going down the road. It happened to me the last hot weekend this fall. The local dealer took my vehicle & had it for over a week, finally getting a code to show up that allowed them to replace the injector pump. I don't believe that the injector pump was at fault, but instead the pmd electronic control module was failing. This replacement didn't cost me anything, but i think gm should extend the warranty for a much longer period of time because of the known problem. They extended the warranty to 120,000 miles on an engine that is designed to run 200,00+ miles w/proper care. My vehicle has approx. 50,000 miles on it at this time.

Problems with 1999 gmc suburban transmission equipment.*mr dealer notified.

Vehicle surged forward when consumer went to put vehicle into reverse causing collision with another vehicle.nlm

Vehicle was moving on the interstate while at 65 mph on cruise control. The automatic gear shift column was struck by the passenger and the transmission was sent into reverse. This action caused the brakes to lockup and the control mechanical lock on the wheel column was locked into a right hand turn with no way to control the vehicle. The vehilce started to skid out of control and then proceeded to roll over three times. All occupants were in saftey belts except my daughter who was int the back seat asleep. The vehicle was totally destroyed. It took resecue crews to remove myself the driver and daughter who was trapped in the back. We were transported via ambulance to a local hospital. Transmission has failedthreetimes since august 2000. Dealership replaced first two transmissions under a warranty, and consumer had to purchase an extended warrantywhichcovered third transmission.consumer states each transmission was brand new.

Transmission failed caused gears to lock up.

Premature total transmission failure at 60,667 miles due to faulty design of sun gear hub assembly. The shaft collar broke off without warning causing transmission to fail. The replacement part from gm has the collar to hub mating strengthened from the factory original, so it is known in gm this part has a design flaw from the factory. I was and am unemployed and this was a terrible financial burden at a bad time. Contacting gm was no help - "it is out of warranty". Further complaints to better business bureau auto line returned same answer - out of warranty". This vehicle has been babied and well cared for. No trailers have been towed and no off-road use. Ridiculous a $41,000 vehicle has this problem at only 60,000 miles. I have also talked to 3 other suburban owners in my small town and all have experienced the same problem. Can't someone force gm to take responsibility for their failure> i warn people about purchasing suburban's now without an extended warranty.

I realy would like to talk to some one about this problems on my truck. I probbably did not fill out the application correctly ,but i paid to much money on this truck to be having all this problems. Please call so that i can send some copies that that i sent to the manufacurer. Engine has also failed to start about 30 times with the first one in the show room of dealer. No safety defect listed.

While engine was on andemergency brake was not applied vehicle shifted into reverse and went backwards. Consumer tried to apply emergency brake, but was dragged until vehicle stopped. Consumer suffered injuries.

Rear axle fell off of the vehicle while driving on a major freeway.when the axle fell off we lost complete braking capability.the vehicle was just released to us from the dealership for repairs to the same parts under warranty.this was the fifth time it was repaired under warranty for the same parts that failed.

The driver's side front axle shaft seal on the differential leaks fluid, which runs onto the hot exhaust pipe which produces a smell and a possible fire hazardi bought this 1999 gmc suburban vehicle used at crown motors in charlevoix michigan on 02/02/01, with 21904 miles on it. About 6 months after i bought the suburban i started smelling a burnt oil odor when i would get out of the vehicle after driving the vehicle.i couldn't figure out what the odor was.about a year ago i had my suburban serviced and was told that the front drivers side differential seal was leaking. This was told to me as a quite common problem with this type vehicle.i went to crown motors and told them about the problem. I was referred to the service manager who said that he would not do anything about the problem because the vehicle had almost 70,000 miles on it.this is my third gmc suburban and i have always been satisfied with the way that they last.i believe that if gmc has a problem and possible fire hazard with these newer vehicles that they should have a recall on them and get the problem fixed before a fire starts and some innocent person gets trapped and killed by their problem.i am not sure of the date that i contacted the service manager at crown motors or the exact date that the leak was found but i am using today as the incident date.thank you.hope you can do something before some gets killed or injured by a fire.

Rear shoes oil soaked from leaking axle seals, all brakes worn down.

For a brand new suburban i don't feel it should be having major part problems. No safety defect listed.

Complete loss of brakes coming up to a stoplight in moderate traffic.widespread heavy corrosion/deterioration of brake lines resulted in rupture of brake line over left rear wheel. Emergency/park brake used to avoid accident. Clearly a materials defect in the brake system, in my opinion.

While driving at low speeds or coming to stop the abs seems to engage and cause erratic stopping and even hard stopping at times.the brake pedal kicks back and is hard to press down and stopping is very difficult.

While attempting to stop in a business parking lot, brake pedal unexpectedly went to floor, vehicle ran over curb/stop, damaging suspension. Cause of incident was determined to be a ruptured metal brake line, caused by severe corrosion.a second line was found to have small pin hole, which had not yet ruptured, but could have failed at anytime.

The brakes will grab very hard under light pressure and jerk the vehicle violently until they have been pressed several times at which point they start working normally. Not sure if this is a caliper issue or a drum brake issue or both.

Brake pads are lasting about 3000 miles the pulling to the left or right when brakes are applied. Or brakes do not work at all.

Weak brakes requiring excessive pedal pressure to stop vehicle.random brake pull rotating the steering wheel while braking.locking front wheels activating abs with little or no rear brake involvement.

Brakes failed causing an accident.the vehicle was taken to dealerfor repairs, but there was no apparent problem with the brakes. Three months later the brakes failed again while approaching a stop sign.again the vehicle was checked by the dealer but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure.

We own a 1999 gmc suburban . We are the original owners of this vehicle which has never (til this time) been in a crash.on perfectly dry pavement, the brakes malfunction while coming to a stop. It sounds and feel like the antilock brakes are pulsating and greatly reduces my braking capability which is extremely dangerous. This occurs while coming to a stop from a speed of approximately 5-10 mph.i respectfully request that an immediate repair be performed and be paid for by gm as quickly as possible.kindly contact me as soon as possible as we transport our children and other adults on many occasions. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Certain pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles may experience unwanted antilock brake system (abs) activation. This condition is more likely to occur in environmentally corrosive areas. This can cause increased stopping distances during low-speed brake applications, which could result in a crash.

We became aware of a recall on chevy and gmc suv's in august.we were having trouble with our brakes and just assumed it was time to have them looked at.in the following days, the problem got worse.we were unableto stop when necessary.it was as if i slowed down to stop, the abs brakes would thump and the car would continue to go forward.our trustworthy mechanic new of the recall and also assumed our car was involved.it was the same exact problem that was reported in the news and on the internet.however, when i contacted gmc, they said our carwas not affected.that is absolutely wrong.they told me that insome cases they make exceptions, but we would not qualify. Their reasons were ridiculous and insulting , in addition to the fact that the people i spoke to were very rude.i did not makeup the problem.it existed , we fixed it , and they need toreimburse us.it was very costly.

I have tried to resolve this with san bernadino gmc and inland valley gmc. No satisfaction yet. Brakes go out on an average of 5000-6000 miles. Now, gmc will not warranty them any longer because of my problems. Steering wheel noise has got better but not fixed yet. Had this since i have had the vehicle. Vibrating in rear end, occures after warm. Continouse problem.

While traveling at low speed in a parking lot vehicle failed to stop as brake pedal was low and abs pump came on. Vehicle came to a stop into a pile of construction concrete debris. Vehicle was presented to a gmc dealer on november 3 2005 and dealer refused to perform safety recall or contact gmc to consider vehicle for repair. Dealer claimed vehicle vin not in range for assistance. Owner regained possession on november 3 2005 and filed complaint

If driving at hwy speed and began to brake, the vehicle will pull to the right. After taking off from a stop the brakes are binding, andthere are abnormal noises and vibration.

Have had ongoing problems with the braking system of this vehicle, can provide copies of all failures.

Dt*:the contact stated since purchase the front brakes failed intermittently.the vehicle required an excessive stopping distance when the brakes are damp or in the morning.the vehicle was taken to the dealership on the day of purchase, but the dealership could not determine a problem.the vehicle was taken to the dealership again, 3 years later, and there was no problem found.the front brake pads were replaced and the rotors were turned for regular maintenance.there is a nhtsa recall, # 05v379000, regarding the antilock brakes.the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however, it is not included in the recall due to the vin.updated 3/9/2006 -

1999 gmc c 1500 suburban with brake fade.this suburban has had all new brake pads x2, new master brake components, and still has issues with stopping at lower speeds. Mechanics say vehicle acting normally when checked. We have, and are still experiancing intermitant brake fade that makes it questionable if the vehicle will stop at a red light or stop signs when traveling on rural roads at speeds of approximatly 15 - 35 mph.i would like to make sure that you include the c1500 gmc suburban in your list of sport utility vehicles. I do not see it mentioned in the information currently in print.

Rear axle fell off of the vehicle while driving on a major freeway.when the axle fell off we lost complete braking capability.the vehicle was just released to us from the dealership for repairs to the same parts under warranty.this was the fifth time it was repaired under warranty for the same parts that failed.

Dt*: updated 10/17/2006 - the vehicle wheel sensor failed due to corrosion on the abs sensors.this caused the abs to active while braking at low speeds, less than 5 mph.the vehicle would travel 5-20 feet before coning to a complete stop.this is caused when the wheel sensors lose output voltage on one or more wheels which tells the controller that the wheel is locked up and releases brake pressure so it wont continue to skid.this failure has caused the consumer to hit his garage door while pulling into his driveway.the consumer has pulled the fuse on the abs system.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving at 5 mph the abs sensors cause an increased stopping distance.there is a nhtsa recall, # 05v379000, regarding the service brakes, hydraulic: anti-lock.the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the vin.

Have owned '90gmc c1500 p/u & '99 gmc c1500 suburban in past 12 years; both vehicles have had same problems w/ front brake pull/wear; suspension; brake pipes; engine/trans. Hesitation, hang....; corroded + battery cables, batteries; leaking hvac ducts; and on & on.how in the world does 12+/- years of documented brake problems across vehicle lines/models not warrant a massive recall and/or compensation to owners for obviously faulty engineering, materials, etc.....????!!!!i suppose the ford/firestone problems took precedence?can you say "class action"??

No summary listed for above vehicle.

I have had 3 sets of brakes.now they are worn again, 32,000 miles, with cracked rotors.dealer will not fix.

The contact owns a 1999 gmc suburban.while driving 1-5 mph, the abs activated without cause or warning when the brake pedal was depressed.as a result, the stopping distance increased.on another occasion, while driving 2 mph, the contact's wife depressed the brake pedal and the abs activated without warning and crashed into another vehicle.as of december 17, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle.the dealer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic: antilock).the failure mileage was 92,500 and current mileage was 93,000. Updated 03/14/08.*ljthere was damage to either vehicle, no information was exchanged.

Abs brake failure. Also, front disc brakes and rear brake drums failed.also, vehicle pulls to left and then right.

We have reported excessive brake wear and pulling to the manufacturer. When brakes are applied, vehicle pulls sharply to left lane. Dealer has replaced pads and rotors and calipers six times in 10,000 miles. Other owners are experiencing same problems. Manufacturer rep says to just pull harder on steering wheel. We have also contacted better business bureau for buyback. Gm service managers tell us this is manufacturing problem and cannot be corrected.

Dt*: the contact stated while braking at slower speeds the abs on the vehicle activated.there is a nhtsa recall, # 05v379000 regarding the abs.the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the year of the vehicle and the state is not included.the repairs have been made and the manufacturer has been alerted.

The anit-lock brakes on my 1999 gmc suburban 4x4 come on every timei coast to a slow stop, making stopping a very tricky situation. I have to anticipate this happening and allow extra stopping distance. I was researching what might be the problem when i came across the may 27th, 2005 article in the detroit news auto insider authored by jeff plungis of the detroit news washinton bureau, in which my exact problem was described. I have not taken my vehicle to a gm dealer yet, but i did have it looked at at a tire store and they said the brake pads and rotors themselves are in good condition and are not causing the issue. This happens every time i drive the vehicle and appeats to be getting worse.

Dt: can't stop the vehicle, and you have to stand on the brake pedal goes to the floor, and you have to pump the brake manually to get it to hold. Had the brake problem since july 2, 2003. Had been in contact with manufacturer, and they said to keep the records for reimburstment, in cause there is a recall. They have replaced the brakes 10-12 times. The antilock is not kicking in.

Dt*:the contact stated the antilock brakes engage at 6 mph.there is a nhtsa recall, # 05v379000, regarding the antilock brakes.the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the vin.the repairs have been made and the problem has not reoccurred.

Brakes are unable to be repaired, have had 3 complete sets.still not fixed.

Dt: the contact states there isnhtsa recall campaign 05v379000 concerning the anti lock brakes. This vehicle hasthe sameproblemsas indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to vin.there have been no repairs made to the vehicle.

The contact owns a 1999 gmc suburban.the contact stated that the antilock brakes would engage during speeds under 5 mph and a buzzing noise could be heard.a local mechanic removed and cleaned the wheel speed sensor.the contacted stated that there was a recall for the antilock brakes, however, the manufacturer stated that his vin was not included.the purchase date was unknown.the current mileage is 111,000 and failure mileage was 95,000.

Every time vehicle is driven with the headlights on,headlights flicker on and go off.vehicle has been taken to the dealership four times in a six-month period. Dealerwas not able to fix the problem. Also, doors are warped/engine runs rough/replaced differential/brakes are locking up.

The contact owns a 1999 gmc suburban. While driving approximately 15 mph the anti lock braking light illuminated and shut off the anti lock brake system. Two years ago the failure occurred intermittently and is currently more frequent. The dealer replaced the speed sensor hubs prior to the recall at the owners expense. The dealer also diagnosed the failure on 12 18 09 and stated that the speed sensors needed to be cleaned and resealed. The dealer confirmed that recall # 05068 is directly related to the failure; however, the vin is not a part of the recall. The contact was quoted $300 to repair the vehicle. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 125,000.

The contact owns a 1999 gmc suburban.while driving at low speeds ranging from approximately 20 to 25 mph and braking, the antilock brake system engaged. The failure has become progressively worse and increased his stopping distance. The failure occurred intermittently for one year and has not been diagnosed by a dealer.the failure mileage was 110,000.

Applied brakes to stop at intersection and brakes failed, brake pedal was pumped twice and both times the pedal traveled to the floor with no response. Stopped car by hitting car in front of me in traffic and jamming transmission in to "park".*mjs

I've had this vehicle in for brake repairs at least 6 times since i bought it.it now has 26,500 miles.the brakes have been replaced 4 times, master cylinder replaced, proportioning valve replaced, and right side caliper replaced.i have also had the following replaced:motor pulley, a/c compressor, tie rod, idler arm, pitman arm, coil in steering column, main belt, front differential gasket.every time i take it in to the dealer, it seems that i am a pest........i will never own another gmc product, and i am seeking legal advice for a possible manufacturer buyback.*aik

On 4 separate occassions consumer has had to take vehicle in for excessive grinding noise from rear brakes when coming to a stop, also there was leaking proportioning valve that caused premature wear to rear brakes.

Separate 14 incidents are reported on 2 complaints.state farm auto was informed, contacted repaired at coulter gmc and got abs fixed.2 weeks is max brakes work.

Whenever t abs brakes wer applied, vehicle would be pulling to the right. Had taken vehicle to dealer & the mechanic swapped the rotors & the tires. Also the right front calipers were swapped.

Rotors were turned repeatedly. We saved the old ones incase they were metallurgically defective. The oil leaked occurred when towing was planned. Gmc has offered to repurchase the vehicle. The a/c turnes on and off, but i forgot when the leak was fixed.

Vehicle has defective transmission/ engine, transaxle, ring and pinion,gear/engine bearing/brake booster/ front brake pads and calipers, and suspension.consumer feels vehicle was poorly manufactured, especially when pulling trailor or with load. Please provide further information.

Abs brakes are locking up in wet conditions, and front brakes have completely worn out within 10,000 miles.owner has taken in vehicle 5 times to 2 different dealers, but problem still exists. *ml

Primature wear brake of brakepads, resulting in exteded stopping distance.dealer has been notified.

Inboard pads wore down to metal while outboard pads with ware detectors not worn down. First set gone at 14,000 second set at 32,000. Calipers seem to hang-up and overheat rotors.

Vehicle pulls left and right when brakes are applied. It has caused vehicle to run light, and there was extended stopping distance.problem has gotten worse each time after being fixed. Also, brake pads contiinued to have excessive wear, reason unknown. Dealer was notified. Please provide more information.

Brakes would squeak and make a grinding noise.front end would shake. Brake pad had worn to metal on one side. Pads and rotors were replaced numeroustimes. Contacted dealer.consumer states that the brake pads are being replaced about every 18000 miles.

Three sets of pads wore out,and currently going onfourth set of pads in 41,000 miles. This will effectstopping distance onfront brakes. Vehicle was operating fine before taken in for a routine check up. Please provide information.

I have had 3 sets of brakes.now they are worn again, 32,000 miles, with cracked rotors.dealer will not fix.

I have had 3 sets of brakes.now they are worn again, 32,000 miles, with cracked rotors.dealer will not fix.

Disc brake rotors were warped. There was a lot of wobbling insteering wheel after applyingbrakes. Took vehicle to dealer & informed bymechanic that front disc brakes were warped badly & needed to be replaced.

Excessive brake wear- rotors replaced @13,000 miles and 2nd second set 28,000 miles.

Vehicle's brakes wore out several times, dealer discovered the worn brake pads were ocurring because the hub on the front left brake was warped and this vehicle must have left the factory with the warped hub.

Consumer was concerned that the front rotors wore out prematurely. Vehicle had 6-8 sets of front rotors replaced within five years. This wasdue to warped/out of round rotors.

On 4 separate occassions consumer has had to take vehicle in for excessive grinding noise from rear brakes when coming to a stop, also there was leaking proportioning valve that caused premature wear to rear brakes.

Rear brakes dangerously lock up when wet---dealer has failed to positively respont when nomerous complaints were registered with them!!!!

Abs brake failure. Also, front disc brakes and rear brake drums failed.also, vehicle pulls to left and then right.

Rear shoes oil soaked from leaking axle seals, all brakes worn down.

The right rear transmission seal broke twice and leaked fluid onto the rear brake.this resulted in loss of braking ability.the positive battery terminal leaked acid and caused the battery tray to rust*mr

The a/c stunk; i felt insecure with the brakes soft most times.twice we drove 45 mi. To midway and they did not take the vehicle in, gmc said to go to nearest dealer.

1, seal on master cylinder is leaking brake fluid .master cynlinder has been replaced twice. 2, side mirrors vibrate excessively, resulting in poor visibility.please provide further information.

While drivingexperienced problems with abs brakes andmaster cylinder .

Have had ongoing problems with the braking system of this vehicle, can provide copies of all failures.

For a brand new suburban i don't feel it should be having major part problems. No safety defect listed.

Vehicle has defective transmission/ engine, transaxle, ring and pinion,gear/engine bearing/brake booster/ front brake pads and calipers, and suspension.consumer feels vehicle was poorly manufactured, especially when pulling trailor or with load. Please provide further information.

Vehicle lost steering while the driver made turns ,making it difficult to control vehicle.it was taken to the dealer for repairs of the steering position sensor.

My vehicle, a 1999 gmc suburban, and now has a tendancy to suddenly veer to the right while rounding any right had curve, at low to high speed.at some point in the turn it is as if there is a peice of the steering missing. We are the second owner of the vehicle.it was sold to us by the dealer and it had 20,000 miles on it when we got it.we asked if there was any problems and they assured us there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.i have explained this condition to several wheel alignment shops, and the consistant statement from them is is sounds like the "steering wheel position sensor is bad".they suggested i call the gm dealer and see if there was a recall for this vehicle because there is one for the problem.i called the gmc dealer and explained it to them and told them what the wheel alignment places are saying, to which they agreed. I asked if there was a recall for that .i gave them my vin #, and they said there was a recall but not for my vin #.i need to know why they (gm) won't include other vin's from the same make & model and year, that have the exact same symptoms. Is there a way to get gm to include my vin # series and expand the recall?the wheel alignment places are telling me this has been a pretty big problem.i don't want to wait until after i have serious problems with this to find out later the recall has been expanded.what can i do and can you help me get gm to assist in this recall expansion?thank you

While traveling on the highway making a left turn without prior warning the electrical steering went out. Please provide additional information dealer is aware of the problem. Ts

Have experience los of my power sterring when i may trurns.iseems to occur more when i take right turns.it causes me to have to jerk the wheel back to compensate for this sudden jollt.

The contact owns a 1999 gmc suburban. The contact was driving 40 mph when he noticed that the vehicle was traveling into the next lane. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure.the dealer did perform an alignment as a precaution. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 189,000.

Steering wheel binds and releases in turns. Causes swerving and correction, results in jerky turns. This problem is most noticeable, gets worse as the temperature gets colder. Problem is believed to be caused by steering column or steering shaft components. This problem has been ongoing.

Dt*: the contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering while braking and making turns.the vehicle has been serviced for the power steering issue however the problem persists.the contact expressedthe vehicle problem may be a manufacturer defect.

Steeringwheel locked while driving .dealer has replaced the sps sensor.

Consumer's car was pulling toright and braking toleft. Took to dealer, and and they alignedfront end, and did repairs on brakes and knuckles.the steering wheel wobbles when the vehicle comes to a stop.there was wind noise from right side of the vehicle.the engine idles rough due to dirty injectors.the vehicle vibrates at speeds of 80-90 mph due to bent wheel.the vehicle would not start due to a weak battery.the steering moans when turning due to failure of evo sensor on steering column.

All five passengers were released with only minor bruises and cuts. I would like to find out why the steering column lock and why a safety feature is not provided to keep the transmission from being accidently put into reverse while the vehicle is traveling in drive. Please help me find a solution to this potential problem.

The steeringwill suddenly get extremely loose and cause me to over steer.it has happened at low and high speeds, whether i'm turning or going straight with no real noticable pattern.

Vehicle experiences a loss of power steering when driving at low speeds and turning. Dealer has vehicle for the fourth time, and is replacing steering gear and module.

While driving about 40 mph steering column totally ceased, causing loss of control. Truck was towed to a dealership.power steering gear was replaced under warranty.

Power steering failed on two occasions.

Steering would jerk left/right intermittently under load (while negotiating bend in road). Problem progressed to power assist failure.local repair shop directed us back to specific person at dealerhip telling us that they have sent several suburban owners there with same complaint.dealer replaced something in gear box.problem was not resolved and has worsened.truck back in shop this week.dealer is investigating.

While engaged in a turning maneuver, the power steering suddenly applies maximum assistance, startling the driver and causing the steering wheel to move suddenly.this movement in turn cuases the front wheels to turn suddenly while in a turing maneuver.if the driver is not extremely attentive, this problem can easliy cause aloss of control of the vehicle. As i understand from local repair shops and a local chevrolet dealer, this is a very common problem with chevrolet and gmc trucks and suburbans.

While driving at 35 mph on curvy road, power assist failed, rendering steering excepetionally difficult to control.

While driving at low speed and then on the freeway at 70 mph my suburban lost powering steering control intermittently-on-off, on-off, on-off. At 70 mph the vehicle repeatedly jerked to the right, and i had to jerk the wheel back to the left and swerve back into the lane. Had inspection made, and found metal shavings in power steering fluid, indicating a component failure in the power steering system.i see a technical service bulletin was issued two years ago on august 1, 2003, but no further action to date to correct this safety defect.

Whiletraveling at approximately 10 mph in traffic power assisted steering pump failed, forcing the consumer to pull off toside ofroad. Consumer stated that braking system also ran through this steering pump, and should be under separate systems. Dealership has examinedvehicle, and was repairing this problem.please provide any additional information/attachments.

Steering pulled to the right. No impact reported.steering would pull to the right without warning. Vehicle was serviced several times while under warranty. Consumer located a technical service bulletin related to the problem.*ph

I have a 1999 gmc suburban that is having a problem with the power steering. I have taken it 3 times to a repair shop to have it looked at but what happens does not occur every day.it seems that the power steering "goes out" for a few seconds - usually when going around a curve, causing the steering wheel to jerk and the vehicle to swerve.i read about a recall that gmc was doing to replace a faulty bearing in the power steering that was causing this problem and i contacted them about it.they opened a file for me but informed me that my year vehicle was not included in the recall and if enough people complained, they might do a recall.otherwise, i would be responsible for the repairs myself.i have contacted a gmc dealer and this repair is very costly, according to them.i feel if gmc has so many other vehicles that they are having this problem with, and they used the same part in my vehicle, i should be entitled to have it repaired at their cost before it causes an accident.they are obviously aware of the problem.

Paint on my 1999 gmc suburban has started to peel and expose the metal. There is no valid reason for this other than orginal fault of paint or process of painting at the manufacturer. Has there been a recall i have not been notified of? that is what i was told by my mechanic, but when i went to my local gmc authorized dealer and told them about this, they denied there has been such recall. Please inform me of any such recall.

The vehicle was parked on a slight grade in the driveway.when it was shifted from park to drive, it drifted backwards approximately 2' (1mph - maybe) where it contacted a sapling tree with the right end of the bumper.at first glance, no damage was detectable.on closer examination, it was discovered that the end of the bumper had bent inwards towards the vehicle and just narrowly missed contacting the rear quarter panel.further inspection uncovered that the top of the bumper had buckled under the step cover near the center of the bumper.when the dealer was contacted, they recited the gm policy statement that the bumper only withstands impacts that are squarely applied at the very center of the bumper.customer service at gmc waited until contacting the dealer to recite the same finding.most people purchase this truck for the size and safety of a larger vehicle, and certainly one would expect that an suv would be sturdily built.i want the manufacturer to replace this bumper under the vehicle warranty.this is undoubtedly a safety hazard as a 5mph impact would have had a devastating affect on the vehicle and its occupants.

Keyless entry system malfunctioned.

Every time vehicle is driven with the headlights on,headlights flicker on and go off.vehicle has been taken to the dealership four times in a six-month period. Dealerwas not able to fix the problem. Also, doors are warped/engine runs rough/replaced differential/brakes are locking up.

Front passenger doors will slam shut whether on slight incline, wind blowing, when loading enfant car seat, etc.truck has been at dealership for modifications of door hinges with no change in condition.please describe details.

Separate 14 incidents are reported on 2 complaints.state farm auto was informed, contacted repaired at coulter gmc and got abs fixed.2 weeks is max brakes work.

Vehicle is going to the left and to the right about a foot to the side of the road.

Gmc can not solve the problem. Vehicle has been returned 14 times under warranty and service bulletins can not fix the problem. Vehicle pulls violently to the left. At high sppeds( 62-68 mph) the vehicle has a tendency to jump to the left over the center line into on-coming traffic.

Car continually pulls to the left.i've had it aligned 3 times by the dealership and they claim the car shows wheels are aligned.the last time they aligned the car, they took the front wheel assembly off to adjust the camber, stating that to adjust toe-in anymore would bring the vehicle out of factory specs.i contacted "the car doctor"a radio show master technician (ron armenian) from wor radio in n.y.and he said that my problem was most likley due to a steering box malfunction since i have speed sensitve electronic steering.he said the car probably is aligned but the computer is making incorrect readings and thus causing the car to pull.he said to contact you because he has heard of this problem before and felt there is an actual defect and that gmc could even recall the car.

While driving at highway speedsvehicle will for a second, pull to the right or left. Cause unknown. Please give any further details.

Abs brake failure. Also, front disc brakes and rear brake drums failed.also, vehicle pulls to left and then right.

Although this cannot be considered a failure, it should be considered a safety issue based on the fact the vehicle had a severe pull to the left and could cause an accident.

Gmc produces a repair kit for vehicles that are defective at delivery at customer expense - extreme drift and instability in this vehicle.

Consumer's car was pulling toright and braking toleft. The vehicle pulls to the left while braking causing the consumer to constantly have to correct the vehicle to the right, the dealer has been unable to correct the problem.nlm

Vehicle has defective transmission/ engine, transaxle, ring and pinion,gear/engine bearing/brake booster/ front brake pads and calipers, and suspension.consumer feels vehicle was poorly manufactured, especially when pulling trailor or with load. Please provide further information.

Whenever making any turns, right or left vehicle's rear end would sway, dangerously.vehiclewas not stable.

Consumer noticed squeaking noise while backing up vehicle. Once serviced, technician determined that the entire rear end failed, and needed replacement.

This tire failed - blew out. Replaced it with the spare and both those tires are wearing in a fashion that no dealer has seen before. I have been to 6 firestone stores, e-mailed them and everything with no results from them.( dot number:tire size: lt24575r16 )

On february 3, i took delivery of an 1999 suburban. The rear driver's tire has 5 punctured holes.both the firestone dealer, and the gm customer services representative confirmed that this tire is not offered to the public; firestone is selling it only to gm for production.i have made phone calls and sent faxes to gm.gm has not secured a tire.this monopolistic practice threatens the safety of the public.the tire should be available to the public.( dot number: tire size: 245/75r16 )

I have had three (3) explosive blowouts over the past ten months.all the tire failures involved the same type and size tire listed.all three of the tire failures resulted in tread seperation and the last one dented my car and bent the exhaust pipe in half.i was fortunate in all three failures to have no traffic around me and a place to pull off the road to change the tire(s).all three failures were during highway driving and all occured at approximately 65 miles per hour. Having dirven a manicured gravel road at 30 mph, distance of 25 miles, @ kananaskis national park in british columbia, all four tires showed gravel puncture/split marks, about 12 on each tire.one of these went through to the air chamber, after driving on the damaged tires for approximately 2800 more miles.tires were removed and replaced with michelin.one month ago, costco replaced all 5 firestones with 5 michelins.one is mounted as spare; others are in garage for future use.firestone was contacted in reno twice.gmc was contacted twice and had possession of damaged tires for 3 weeks.firestone attempted to reassure customer (age 58) all was ok."permit my grandmother to travel on these tires."after the air loss, i didn't buy firestone's reassurance.firestone has no road hazard guarantee.gmc was not too concerned, and the tires were returned to me and held for a year, until costco recently.firestone steeltex r4s are too brittle?that is my assessment.because i acted quickly to replace, they didn't catch me in any but cost and time.i will never buy another firestone product.gmc is not my friend.you can tell that to george green, the gen. Tires maintained properly.when towing 8000 lb. Vacation trailer, 80 lbs. Rear, 50 lbs. Front. (mfgr. Spec.).wheels equipped with tire sentry monitoring system which sound an alamr and blinking light on dash if tire pressure is lower than factory setting.while traveling south on hwy. 1999 near bakersfield, ca on a hot july afternoon (103 degrees) while towing 8000 lb trailer at freeway speed, the left rear suburban tire suddenly began viberating viloently, started to flap, lost tread and the blowout (this all happend very quickly).-submitted claim for tire and damage to vehicle to firestone and was the claim was denied. They said the tire had been operated for an unknow period of time with insufficient air pressure to carry load (this is not true) and that the failure did not result from a defect in either materials or workmanship.point of interest: the suburban has been pulling to the right and i was going to have it aligned, however i replaced all 4 tires with michilins and now the truck does not pull to the right.i since have had the blowntire inspected by a tire dealer and they felt the tire was defective.-my next step is small claims court - however today i see there is a class action lawsuit against firestone on this very tire.

Tire tread separated while at 65 mph. Steering erratic with major vehicle vibration. These oem firestone tires were not balanced when the vehicle was received from the factory. The dealer's shop tried to balance all four tires and sent the vehicle out for balancing at a local tire dealer with marinal sucess. Very carefully placed, large wheel balance weights were required to meet minimum acceptance. More than 8/32ths tread remained on the tire with an even tread wear pattern. Tread separated from the tire and damaged the vehicale. I have photographs of the tire and the tread. I also have one of the orginal tires left on the spare rim. The issue i want to discuss concerns the placement of the gas tank on suburbans. The suburban my wife purchased did not have a trailer hitch. At the time of purchase i owned a 86 vw scirroco. I noticed without a trailer hitch on the suburban the 43 gallon was very exposed. In fact my vw would go under the bumber and hit the gas before hitting anything else on the suburban. This has to be dangerous!!. I bought a class iii trailer hitched and installed it soon after purchase of the vehicle. Most suburbans have trailer hitches but for the ones that don'tis this a problem???

While driving daughter to school, pulled into the parking lot andvehicle stalled, and would not start again.hadvehicle towed to the dealer, and they broke the fuel sending unit. Which they replaced.but, still having problem withvehicle stalling.engine check light came on and stayed on.they pressurized the tank.now the gas gauge does read properly.

While in operation, for no reason, engine stopped running, loosing steering and braking. Took to private auto repair shop and they could not find anything wrong. Took to the dealer and they cannot do anything unless it happens again and i have it towed in.i called gmc and they cannot do anything unless it happens again and i have it towed to the dealer. It is too dangerious to drive with this problem. This has happened twice to my brother in-laws 1999 chevy suburban and both times it was taken to the dealer. They replaced the altenator the first time and the battery the second time. Looking at the other complaints on this web site it looks like many other people have had this problem. Gmc should be telling their dealers how to fix this problem.

Upon purchase of my vehicle the brakes have not worked properly ie very bad chatter, poor stoping distance, warped rotors. I complained numerous times to no avail and they had tried (so they say) to fix the problem but it is never right. If you pull a small trailer you have to be very cautious of your following distance as you will not be able to stop in time. I have even spoken to many dealerships and finally one in hudsonville mi. Admitted they were under engineered for the weight and size of the vehicle. Even the law enforcement agencies will tell you they are inadequate as officers that drive them have told me so in speaking with them. I even asked for a refund on my vehicle , a 1999 gmc suburban and was laughed at every time from the dealer i purchased it from. Also bought the extended warranty but it does not cover (normal wear and tear) right!i wish all that have had the misfortune of owning one of these the best of luck. I still own mine as it will not sell and have even tried to sell undervalue just to get rid of it but no luck. I hope this helps somebody

My 1999 c1500 suburban caught fire while parked and completely off. It had been parked fro 9 hours when we were awakened at 2am by neighbors and police trying to evacuate our home. The car burned to the ground and was the most frightening experience. I have a 9 and 6 year old that are traumatized by the incident. I reported the matter to the gmc customer care and they replied saying that they would contact me in 2 days. This is unforgiveable.

I was told by the dealer, jim murphy pontiac/gmc in buffalo, ny that the speed sensors needed to be replaced on the truck. There is a service bulletin# 020525002 for this exact part. I was told my truck is not part of the recall.the vin # for my 1999 gmc suburban is [xxx]. While driving about 30mph and and applying brakes, car lunged forward. No brake pressure.contacted dealer.

While drivingat about 65mph vehicle took off to the left and jacknifed. Dealer saidthere wasnothing wrong withvehicle.

1, seal on master cylinder is leaking brake fluid .master cynlinder has been replaced twice. 2, side mirrors vibrate excessively, resulting in poor visibility.please provide further information.

Windshield cracked up middle, we've seen many gmc products with the same crack

When driving while it is snowing or sleeting, the right side windshield wiper moves snow and ice to the center of the windshield. The end of the left side wiper then pushes the snow/ice down the windshield where it piles up in the center. As this process continues, the pile gets larger and lifts the left (driver side) wiper from the windshield, allowing more and more snow/ice to accumulate under it, blocking the driver's vision. The only way to resolve is to stop the vehicle and manually remove the piled up ice/snow from the windshield.

While driving in the rain the windshield wiper failed sporadically causing low visibility. *nlm the consumer was told that there was a recall on the wiper motor for 1998 model but not the 1999 model. *nlm
