Air bag did not deploy on inpact, 3 people were sent to hospital , driver had head and neck injuries due to air bad not deploying in ahead on collision have contacted the manufacture please report any airbag malfunctioning.

The floor mat was wedged under accelerator pedal. This caused vehicle to accelerate & hit another vehicle in front. Air bag did not deploy. Was traveling at 30-40mph at the time.

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision at about 35mph.upon impact,airbags did not deploy, resulting in minor injuries.prior to the collision,dealer had repaired the airbags.dealer and manufacturer have been notified. *ml

95 gmc surburban.

Vehicle failed to start. Upon further inspection the battery was bulging and acid was leaking within the rf side of the engine compartment. Attempting to remove the battery for replacement the positive side mount terminal detached internally from the battery. Further inspection revealed battery acid leakage had corroded the battery tray, rf internal wheel well, electrial connections, a/c hoses, rf steering parts and the rf brake line / hose.

The abs system has always been a problem. One morning backing out of the garage after it had rained the night before, i gently braked and the car made a grinding noise and jerked abrubtly scaring all of us. It skidded ! up and down the driveway i did this and it jerked and skidded! we decided it was not safe. The store checked tires and brakes. This has happened again and again!the electrical problem has been ongoing.the dealer cannot figure it out, we're ok for a while - 6 mos. With a new battery and then were stranded somewhere cause its died. We just had the radio replaced because they said it had a short,well it was out of the car and it died again. They replaced the alternator it died yesterday! please help!

While vehicle was at dealer for service dealer noticed a battery leak, causing loss of power. Transmission makes grinding noise.

Original fitment battery leaked causing failure of positive terminal screw (vehicle would not start).extensive surface corrosion in battery area.at owner expense (battery out of warranty) acid neutraliser & sealant applied to affected areas, terminal replaced, battery replaced with aftermaket (exide) unit.after another 22 months (at 65000 miles), second battery failed with minor leakage, suspected due to overcharge.charge circuit checked ok by dealer.no report of corrosion or other brake system problem reported from dealer (ref. Battery leaked due to a terminal connector bolt being too large, cracking the lead terminal on the battery, the battery leaked acid and led to electrical failure and corroded the wire connection in the battery, the battery eventually failed.

Wtnh news reported 6/20/00 many instances of battery failure on 1995-1999 suburbans/tahoes.mine failed when only 4 years old after leaking acid in the engine compartment.the air conditioning lines were hit with the acid and may fail prematurely.cost to replace battery was $69.replacement of a/c lines will be $100-200 est.i have not replaced the a/c lines.

The electric connector for the low pressure/ loss of fluid was not connected at the factory to the abs valve. The original battery leaked at the + post. The oem replacement battery did the same. After that i switched to an after market gel battery,optima brand and never had a problem with it. The factory installed trailer hitch platform started to faill when i was towing a 9000lbs trailer,showing a 3 to 4 inch crack in the right side bolted to the frame. All those failled parts were replaced at no charge by the dealer under either gmc warrenty or "good will" policy.

When restartingvehicle after turning itoff for about 10-15 minutes there was a loud noise coming from engine. When gettingvehicle checked outdealer noticed thatoil pan cover came off, andoil spilled all over the engine, causingengine to stop running.

While driving at various speed and without warningthe vehicle would shut off.the vehicle was taken to the dealer fro diagnosis and was informed that there were no codes and that they couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle. It was later determined that a faulty pdm was the cause of the problem. The pdm was replaced 3 times prior to the consumer owning the vehicle. *nlm

The vehicle has not been in a collision.i feel the housing is faulity.now the a/c unit failed.i will never buy another gmc product.

When i apply the brakes my rear brake lights doesn't come on. I went to the dealer and they said it might be my brake light switch, so i purchased a new brake light switch.my brake lights worked for a short time. Now if i step on the brakes real hard 3-4 times the brake lights will work occasionaly. I read the report on the recall of the 1994 suburban brake lights and that sounds alot like what my problem is but i am not sure please help. Thank you.

While driving 45 mph the hood flew up because the secondary hood latch was stuck in the open position. The driver was able to stop and get truck off the road. Dealer will not check because truck is out of warranty.

Tailgate lock release failed.

When vehicle is turned on and being driven the speedometer and tachometer fails to register at all, once speed reaches 30 to 40 mph the vehicle performs normally but the speedometer and tachometer still doesn't work . This problem happens intermittently. *nlm

While driving consumer noticed that fluid was leaking from underneath the vehicle. Suddenly vehicle stalled.consumer was unableto restart the vehicle, and itwas towed to the dealer for inspection.the consumer has replace three transmissions in this vehicle. This last failure caused transmission fluid to leak onto the hot exhaust pipe nearly causing a fire.

During wintervehicle shifts hard into first gear. Also, has a jerking motionwhen starting vehicle.

The transmission cooling line is rusted through, causing transmission fluid to leak out of the truck.took truck to the dealer, but they weren't able to repair the problem.

Researching your reports reveals 94-11 reports for suburban, 7 under yukon, 95 - 35 reports under suburban, 20 under yukon, and other reports under 96 and 93.*la

The left front corned of the drivers seat frame broke off.this makes the extremely unstable and causes dangerous driving conditions.i would speculate that even if the track was not broken completely off, that if the vehicle were hit from behind the drivers seat could be thrown backwards or sideways if the weaken frame would break the rest of the way upon impact.i contacted general motors corp (file #c01667539) about this problem and was told to take the vehicle to groulx olds/gmc dealership (monroe michigan 734-241-3704) to have the seat inspected, which i did.upon inspection of the seat frame, groulx mechanics confirmed the frame had failed, but could not replaced the frame without authorization from general motors corp. Unless i was willing to pay for the repair myself.i talked to general motors corp. Drivers side seat anchoring metal failed causing seat to rock back and forth enough to cause difficulate driving conditions.my concern is that this is not an isolated case.the dealer i contacted told me this happens a lot and a used parts dealer i called said he gets 4 to5 cals a week for this part.i have owned many cars and trucks ans have never had a set break.

Antilock brakes lock up.

Brakes begin to grind while driving and applyngbrakes .as a result of this grinding, vehicle pulls to the left side.dealer was contacted and fixed the brakes at owner's expense.

When vehicle is driven for a while the front brake rotors become warped.the front end of the vehicle starts to wobble.if the rotors are turned and new pad installed the problem goes away for a couple of thousand miles then returns.

The brakes on the vehicle have been a problem since the day, i drove it, off the lot !i returned to the dealership and they adjusted the parking brake within the first hour after delivery.it was re-adjusted at 4100 mi.at 14833 mi. This is a 2500 suburban and the front disc brakes wear out every 11,000 miles.the rear drum brakes did not wear out until 137,000 miles, and that was only after i had the brake combination valve changed according to tsb #99-05-24-001a which was issued by gm to correct this problem.until i located this tsb, i just kept being told that the 3/4 ton suburbans all go through front brakes very quickly.i was told this at several garages and several dealers.i feel this is a defect in the vehicle and not wearing out the rear brakes until the proportioning valve was replaced (which i paid $256. For) demonstrates that the wrong proportioning valve was installed in this vehicle.i would like to report this and find out if i have any recourse in getting reimbursed for my expenses.i am not aware of any recall on this vehicle for the brakes.thank you.

During routine brake maintenance (disc pad replacement), removal and inspection of the rotors revealed a circular crack running approximately 60% of the entire circumference of the rotors between the mounting bolt section and the pad section of the rotorsfailure to remove and detect crack and replace component would have resulted in catostrophic failure of the rotors,and almost assured a front tire lock-up.if my wife had been driving when this occurred, a major accident would have been a sure thing.rotors available for your inspection if requested along with right side rotor which was changed also. Just in case, but did not show signs of cracking.thank-you for you time.

Front brake rotor failure. Vehicle is equipped with composite rotors, which failed (cracked) at the junction of the rotor and hub. The vehicle has been servced at 3 mo. Intervales through out it's life with checks to undercarraige, brakes, tires and suspension. Service records can be provided. Gmc had been notified(req# 06116896) and i was told to contact a dealer for inspection. The dealer said this was a waste of time because the vehicle was out of warranty.

While going down the road at 65mph vehicle will just shut off, and brakes/steering locked up, took to dealer and they replacedthe injection pump five times, and now the problem was reoccurring again. Check the engine light came on, followed by loss of power and the dealer replaced injection pump, module on the pump, waste gate module but all were just bad guess.

While driving lost control of steering and the dealer tried to fix the problem but the vehicle is still losing steering control.

Likewise, the rear panel door hinges have failed in the same manner, resulting in the doors allowing air flow and likewise carbon monoxide into the cabin. Again, there appears to be no way to adjust the hinges. This vehicle has seen very little "rough road" useage, since we have owned it, and the hinges were fine when we bought it used with 66k miles on it. It would appear that either the hinges are of a bad design, or some bushings have worn out which are not accessible. I have owned numerous vehicles over the years that had many more miles and never had any hint of door problem. I can forsee the top hinge pins on both front doors eventually failing, allowing the doors to partially pop open from the front edge.

Purchased 4 replacement tires for gmc suburban on december 1999 - firestone steeltex r4s (outline white letter). All made in canada. Lots: 30359 ex bm14480-3. At 65 mph the truck shimmied terribly. I returned the vehicle on 5 occasions; for wheel balancing and replacement tires, the last time being 9/27/00. The problem persists. Through many years of experience, i am certain there is a tire problem, rather than vehicle. (i plan to verify with front end alignment, but i believe the problem to be rear tires.) through out the five (5) return trips to the dealer, the 2 rear tires were replace with moderate improvements in the vibration (similar to a tread separation which i have experienced before). The replacement tire lots were; made in canada 30359 ex bm14480-3 and 32356 ex bm14480-3. Please add this complaint and concern to your files and advise if there are other reported incidents on this size tire. I have not had a blowout or tread peel-back, but i strongly suspect there to be a defect in these tires. While driving on the freeway at about 65  70 mph, the tread separated from the sidewalls of the tire.in a matter of about 15 seconds we were riding on the rim.because it was a rear tire, i was able to maintain control of the vehicle and pull to the side.had it been a front tire, i doubt that would have been the case.we were headed out on a trip and i had checked the tire only 15 minutes before.everything looked fine.i have photos of the tire and have saved it and the others from the vehicle. 3 of the 4 oem tires have had belt separation within the last 6 months-gmc referred me to tire manufacturer. .firestone dealer declines responsibility of defective tires. All failures at freeway speeds.( dot number:tire size: 245/75x16 )

While the consumer was traveling, one of the tires suffered tread separation and the consumer replaced it with a new tire. (tire size 265/75sr 15)

The trailer hitch bolt to the rear of the chassi was damaged.the damage was 2 cracks.each crack was on each angle that is bolted to the chassi.one crack on the right side was about on inch long the other crack on the left side was in the bend area about 3 1/2 inches long, running from the rear going forward.this crack was more pronounced.

The electric connector for the low pressure/ loss of fluid was not connected at the factory to the abs valve. The original battery leaked at the + post. The oem replacement battery did the same. After that i switched to an after market gel battery,optima brand and never had a problem with it. The factory installed trailer hitch platform started to faill when i was towing a 9000lbs trailer,showing a 3 to 4 inch crack in the right side bolted to the frame. All those failled parts were replaced at no charge by the dealer under either gmc warrenty or "good will" policy.

The floor mat was wedged under accelerator pedal. This caused vehicle to accelerate & hit another vehicle in front. Air bag did not deploy. Was traveling at 30-40mph at the time.

Dashboard broke off from three screws holding it.

When starting vehicle with foot on brakein the reverse position the vehicle went full speed backwards. The 1st year rotors cracked & brakes replaced. Windshield wiper motor stopped working during a storm. Dealer replaced motor. Problem still exists. Driver's door window shattered. Abs light cameon & remained on.module was gone & had it replaced.

Dealer indicated that there is no coverage for consumers recalled windshield wiper motor (98v-150). *nlm

Windshield wiper motor, hvac controls, door window motors (2), alternator, and radio failed between 50,000 and 75,000.battery died while truck undergoing hvac controls replacement.windshield motor failure occurred during storm--nearly catastrophic consequences.despite our repeated attempts, neither gm nor dealer has made good on any repair/replacement costs.

Dt:the contact stated there was nhtsa recall campaign03v159000 concerning the windshield wiper/washer. This vehicleexperienced the same failure as indicated in the recall, but was not included in the recall due tovin. The contact has not repaired the vehicle at this time.

Windshield wipers would intermittently stopduring operation or not work at all. Dealer was not not contacted.
