I bought this truck in 1997 and within 30 days the fuel pump went out.i took my truck to chevy land to have the pump replaced. This took over 3 weeks andwehad to go threw about 4 or 5 pumps . I then went out and bought a brand new pump, not a rebuilt one and then it ran o.k for a short time and back to doing the same thing again. We took it back in again and the pump was bad again. I had told them to rebuildmy pump that was on my truck because it was very new and i was told by chevy land that they would rebuild my fuel pump, but they didnt, they said they sent my pump off to be fixed and replaced it with a older rebuilt one they had there. I pick up my truck and within 24 hours the truck was doing the very same thing as before we replaced this pump. We called up to chevy land and they had the truck towed in to the shop. This is where the truck satfor many days and weeks waiting for someone to fix it . But they couldnt. The service manger even said he couldnt fix it . They had no ideato what was wrong now with my truck, and that they just couldnt fix it. So it sat for many weeks . When i spoke to theservice dept to see when it was going to be done with my truck .they told me that they were done with it as he said they just couldnt fix it. So what was i to do with a truck that wont run.i then went back up to the shop to tell them we would be back to get the truck when i saw that my truck had been parked outside all this time in the ran with both front windows left down and both my batterys were completely dead . I then had to go buy two more batterys for the truck i have spent over 11000.00 dollars in repairs for this truck in the last year and this is where i spent all of the money at is chevy land. But when i take a non running truck into the repair shop and months go by and my truck is left to rot in the rain and all the time telling me that you cant fix it so on that note i took my truck and had it towed back home and stopped payment.help me please.
Windshield wipers don't work properly, causing the consumer to have problems with the vehicle when driving in the rain. Also,windshield wipers work sometimes and sometimes don't work. After the dealer repaired the windshield wipers the vehicle wouldn't start up because the driver side battery shorted out and the vehicle died out, causing the starter to overheat and burn out which resulted in the right side passeger's battery to short out and then die out.the vehicle has been in the shop every three months for repair service, and the consumer just got the vehicle out of the shop. Owner has abs brakes, he states that his brake pedal goes to the floor. When driving in damp or wet weather conditions the rear brakes lock up, causing the vehicle to skid to a stop. Fuel injectors have been replaced 8 times. Right front axle continues to break and the actuator has been replaced five times already. While driving vehicle engine misses at intermittent times, runs rough, at times, at times will shut down, had vehicle into dealership 3-4 times and still not fixed: engin. Consumer 1994 sierra 1500 windshieldwiper works on and off. The starter was also replaced.

While driving the vehicle the engine shut down because of oil loss which was due to the oil filter adapter & filter dropping out of engine. The problem has been corrected.

The cooling coils for air conditioning unit loacated in front of radiator, the fins are closing up.the week of 6/21/99 i took it to the dealership for a brake switch recall and showed them this condition.i was told they had never seen this before, and had no resolve.robert jacobs,works with me at my place of employment has the same year truck i have and his is the same way, 7/1/99 i walked through our parking lot and found 3 more gmc trucks and 1 chevrolet truck with same condition. I do not understand why my dealership is unaware of the problem, unless it has never been reported, i am not complaining i like my truck would just like to know whats going on.
While rotatingtires noticed spare tire missing, andcable which held the emergency spare tire in place undervehicle had snapped due to corrosion/rust. Dealer/manufacturerwere not notified at this time. Provide any further information on this matter.

I have the cable that failed in my possession.when it failed it released the spare tire onto the highway. There could have been severe damage had it struck a person or another vehicle.

The original brake light switch (p/n 156869684047) was replaced with a new switch (p/n 124500767507 - dealer said that this part number replace the original part). I disassemble the failed part and found heavy arc-deposits on the contacts. Later i was notified by gmc of a recall campaign on the brake light switch. The notification stated that under this recall the dealer would replace the existing switch and change the polarity. At 109536 miles the switch was again replaced via the recall (p/n 12500767164) and i was reimbursed for the earlier purchase of a replacement switch. At 131925 miles another driver informed me that my brake lights were not working. I contacted gmc (a local dealer and customer assistance) to inform them that the "corrective action" made during their recall had not solved the problem. They responded that they were only required to fix it once and that they would not replace the switch again at no cost to me. I purchased a new switch (p/n 1250076 9074 xy), and replaced the failed switch at 132069 miles. Since i anticipate that the new switch will eventually cease to function too, i have installed an interior indicator so that i will know when it happens again (without the risk of a collision). Disassemble of the recently failed switch revealed that the contacts were contaminated with arc-deposits as in the case of the original switch. I desire that gmc finally fix the problem with the brake lights and that they reimburse me for the switch that i just purchased.

Fuel line is deffective, resulting in gas leaking whenvehicle is being driven. Consumer is still operating vehicle.consumer states due to improper design, the gas lines have rusted through, the lines collect moisture, consumer feels stainless steel lines should be used.

I'm putting the 3rd tranny in my 94 gmc sierra truck. I'm not alone on this, i know of some people haven the same thing wrong on there gmc and chev trucks from the years 90-2000 trucks. Its mostly with 2nd and over drive. Like i said this will be the 3rd, the company that put the 2nd tranny in told me that these tranny have a lot of those problems with 2nd and over drive.

The contact owns a 1994 gmc sierra. The contact stated that the driver's seat belt would not latch to the buckle. Also, the strap that goes across the driver's chest would not adjust to his height. The contact spoke with cole buick gmc (6600 s westnedge ave, portage, mi 49002, 269-323-3200) and was informed that the seat belts were not included in a recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 145,000.
The seat belt on the passenger' side will not come out of the retractor.the dealer has been notified about the problem. Dealer promised to fix the problem within one week. Also, the seat on the driver's side will not lock into place. Dealer will correct the problem at owner's expense.
Passenger's side seat belt will not pull out the retractor mechanism. Therefore, has no seat belt protection.consumer has contacted the dealer.
Seat collapsed during rear end collision causing consumer's head to hit and break the rear window and resulting in a severe concussion, prior to this accident the seat was recalled and repaired, consumer feels the seat was not correctly repaired or that there was another defect that was not recalled.nlm

The driver's seat on my extended cab truck fell to the back seat while pulling out of my driveway, i did lose control and a coal truck coming up the road, almost got me . The gmc dealer has denied any knowledge of this ever happening before . However, they just happend to have new bolts that were different than the ones i took out, they are longer than the orignal ones, when i replaced them,the counter man said he was not allowed to give me the program letter, but he did give me one page that listed the toqure specs andinstalation instructions. If you find anything out, please let me know or if you need any info just call. Thanks.
Seat broke while driving. Bolt broke allowing the seat to go backwards while truck was in motion.only one bolt holding seat in "upright" position. If traveling at high speeds, could have caused a serious accident. This is seen as a faulty engineering.
Seat repaired free,but not fixed.used class 3 bolt;needs case-hardened pin.
Order new seats next day saved factory ones .went off the road dont know if anythings damaged havent driven since.
Consumer's seat broke loose from mounting and fell back like reclining.front bolts ripped from the metal, this problem has happened three times, and the dealershiip replaced it three times. Now the seat frame has separated again, and dealership says the campaign has expired.
The bracket that holds the cushion to the frame sheared in two and caused the drivers seat to fall back while driving.

The contact owns a 1994 gmc sierra.the contact stated that the bolt supporting the front seat backs sheared off and caused the seat backs to fall backwards.he repaired the issue himself after purchasing another set of bolts from the dealer two years ago.recently, the failure recurred while driving approximately 45 mph.the contact was also driving when the failure occurred two years ago.the dealer and manufacturer stated that they could not assist.the current mileage was 193,377 and failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Seat back pivot pin broke. The seat can only recline. This is very similar to recall 95v246000. But my vin doesn't show up when searched. Why is my vin not included? this is a 1994 gmc sierra sle. Thanks
Seat frame broke at connection to lower frame.
Driver's side seat collapsed all the way into the back ofextended cab. Unable to adjust or sit upright in seat.
Consumer states the drivers side seat frame broke while traveling on the highway without prior warning..
The seat cushion frame on the power seats shears from the bracket attaching the seat to the floor. Shearing occurs on the seat where the bolt attaches to the bracket. This is the second instance of the metal breaking away from the bolt.
The seat frame that bolts to the electric carrier fatigued and cracked, allowing the seat to tip backwards on acceleration.
While driving at 60 mphdriver's side seat broke, causing the consumer to fall backward and almost lose control ofvehicle. Also, windshield wipers are working intermittently. *ml
The defective seatback does not lock in postion. While braking the seatback moves forward which almost caused loss of vehicle control.
Seat frame starts to crack and make noise, the left front bracket on this frame breaks off and the seat goes backward in any type forward motion.

Weeks after purchase i had to take it back due to the frontend shimmying when applying the brakes it was found that the rotors where out of round. I have had excessive wear of pads i was told (not by the dealer) that the calipers wheresticking . The windshield wipers stop working occasionally.

Weeks after purchase i had to take it back due to the frontend shimmying when applying the brakes it was found that the rotors where out of round. I have had excessive wear of pads i was told (not by the dealer) that the calipers wheresticking . The windshield wipers stop working occasionally.

Dt:consumer owns a gmc sierra 1994. He was concerned about the spare tire mount. Vehicle had a cable that heldthespare tire in place. The spare tire came off thevehicle, andconsumer did not know where it may have come loose . Consumer noticed spare was gone about july 17, 2005. Then, consumer checked the spare mounting deviceand discovered that the cablebroke due to rust. Cable looked as if it rusted t and failed. I purchased 4 brand new pirelli desert dog tires from sam's about 9/17/98.one of the tires was acting odd with a bumping sound caused by an egg in the tire or the tread being partially separated.the defective pirelli desert dog tire was exchanged at sam's about 9/18 or 19/98 by sam's without questions and it was believed to be defective.the pirelli desert dog tire on my passenger rear side of my gmc pickup that had the tread separate from the tire on hwy 90 at 70 mph made noise just like the other defective tire just before it separated.the tire tread separated from about half of the tire and the tire remained inflated.when the tread separated it beat up and damaged my passenger rear fender, under side of my bed, my bumper and my exhaust tail pipe.when the tire separated it caused my truck to swerve right and left violently and almost caused my pickup to flip over.my wife and i were seriously shaken, stopped the vehicle, checked what had happened and thanked god we were not injured or killed.the tire was replaced with the spare and we continued to new orleans, la.the truck had nothing in the bed but we were towing a trailer with nothing in or on it.i believe that the trailer helped in preventing the overturning of my pickup by keeping the rear end of my pickup from swerving more violently than it did.i reported the incident to sam's and they indicated it was a manufacturer's defect, i contacted pirelli, sent the tire with estimated damages but pirelli reported that the tire was not defective.after viewing the film on the tires being investigated by congress, i felt it necessary to report the situation that i have had with these pirelli desert dog tires.my vehicle reacted exactly like those on the video seen on tv when the tread separated.neither sam's or pirelli are willing to repair my vehicle or replace my tire so i have had to go to my own insurance carrier to get my vehicle repaired.please help in reporting this safety hazard.

I am experiencing intermittent problems with my wipers not working on a 1994 gmc sierra pickup. This problem has happened several times. Each time this happened the road conditions are wet and without the aid of the wipers working properly visibility is near zero. This creates a dangerous condition while in heavy traffic. No warning signals are given when the wipers will or will not work. Most recently i called a gmc customer service representative and his response was that with the age of the truck this problem was considered normal wear. This left me the feeling that they (general motors) were not concerned with the issue. At this point the condition still exists.

This defect almost caused me to have a severe accident during a recent storm. Now, we have a hurricane coming and can't even get a dealer to look at the problem........aggravating!

The recall is coverd by gmc technical service bulletin 03023 and refers to problems with solder joints on the windshield wiper control circuit board.i contacted gmc customer service and the fact that the recall applied to my make and model of vehicle but that my specific vin number was not covered by the recall was confirmed.this is an obvious safety issue and the recall should cover all vehicles affected by the identified defect.

Consumer just recently purchased this vehicle, and provided the vin to the manufacturer, who was telling consumer the recall was out dated, and wantedconsumer to pay out of pocket, and maybe reimbursed.
