Dash cracking at pass airbag ( safety issues ) and numerous cracks on instrument cluster portion of dash... Multiple exact problemsand a lawsuit dated jan 2018. Gm needs to replace all these dashboards.
When if ever is nhtsa going to do something about the defective airbags?? i've been waiting for you and gm for 7 years now, to get something done. It's been long enough to do something about it. I live in a state where we get 60 plus inches of rain every year. And that's one of the reasons they give for failures of the airbags. I don't want to get someone killed because you can't find time to do your job. Time to get off the pot, and go to work. My next step will be to get ahold of trump maybe he can help you figure it out and get something done ✅
I was traveling on highway 151 at 70 mph when i received a message stating stabilitrak was disabled, followed by reduced engine power message.within seconds my truck went from 70 mph to 35 mph while on the highway with a semi-truck behind me, a car in the fast lane on my left side, and snow on the rightside shoulder.i quickly tapped my brakes and put on my right turn signal to notify to the semi-truck driver that i was quickly turning off the highway and drastically reducing my speed lower than the allowed state highway minimum speed limit.considering the highway traffic and the speed at which my truck reduced speed in such a quick manner, it was amiracle i was not rear-ended by the semi-truck driver.this not only happened to be once on sunday, but twice on the same day within about 20 miles from the first incident.
2010 sierra denali with 53k. 1st dash crack at passenger airbag with approx 20k. 2nd dash crack over steering column at approx 40k. We had to stuff a piece of cardboard in the dash because it rattled so badly. We also have:1. Passenger door handle chrome peeling and sharp enough to cut2. A/c control buttons worn off3. Both front heat/cooled seats have stopped working4. Running board steps cracked on both sides5. Tail gate will not stay closed unless locked.
The entire dashboard has started cracking.
I had the oil changed at the dealer on the friday prior to august 5, 2013 and the warranty was expiring (at that time) in the very near future.got in the truck to go over to my father's house and stopped at a local gas station that still does full serve (for a penny or two higher than the self serve down the street).as the owner of the station was cleaning my front windshield he ask me what was wrong with the dash and that is when i saw it.two little cracks from the passenger airbag unit to the defroster vents and one that was coming straight up the drivers side dash hump (where all the gauges go).i called the dealer immediately and the service manager ask me to send pictures of the cracks and the odometer, so he could submit to gm.the finally replaced it, though the owner of the gmc/buick/cadillac dealership said that if the warranty had not covered it the dealership would and my understanding was that gm wanted the cracked dash back or at least the batch number.

Dash board cracking several places
The dashboard of 2010 gmc sierra denali is cracking around the passenger air bag, and above the instrument cluster.the reason behind this is unknown to me.i rarely drive my truck, and have not been in any collisions.the cracks continue to grow due to the stress on the dash while driving (i.e. The separated pieces move up and down due depending the road conditions).
Dash cracked from corner of near airbag on passenger side. No impact or anything to cause crack.
Dash has cracked behind gauge cluster on driver side and air bag on passenger side.
