This vehicle has had numerous electrical issue from the first few months of ownership. The trailer brake system failed and was replaced on october 2014. The vehicle has had many recalls that have been corrected by owner and service provider. The second summer of ownership the vehicle had radiator issues, and most recently electrical issues again and transmission issues. While driving the vehicle electrical dashboard goes into a flicker and shuts down. Gmc was able to fix this issue at the owners cost with the vehicle being out of service for 3 weeks. Gmc was to reimburse the owner for costs of a gm dealer that was not able to fix the issue (painter automotive)(february 9, 2017) of $300, this has not been reimbursed. The vehicle is now at the service station as it does not start with no codes. It has been out of service for 2 weeks and counting, this vehicle is no longer reliable or safe for us to drive. We have documentation of all the issues and video of the dashboard flicker.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 3500. The contact stated that a snow plow was installed by a dealer however, after the installation, the instrument panel was dim and the headlights failed to illuminate. The technician uninstalled the snow plow and the vehicle resumed to function as normal. The technician then reinstalled the snow plow a second time but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

The communications quit working, i can not use the hands free on my phone

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph a knocking noise was present coming from the engine and heavy smoke was seen coming out of the exhaust. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the piston fractured and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer fair grounds gmc (100 fairgrounds rd, rolla mo) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 106,000. The vin was not available.

While driving white smoke bellowing out front right tire wheel well.upon inspection, smoke coming from exhaust pipe clamp near turbo.smell so bad have to drive with window open.it appears engine on fire from the amount of smoke emitting from under the hood.at idle it get worse.it appears smoke is exhaust fumes leaking from the pipe joint.no engine light to indicate a problem.

In addition, the service trailer brakes error message illuminated, which caused the brakes to fail on the trailer. The contact unattached the trailer and the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was taken to growney motors (1160 main st, red bluff, ca 96080) where it was diagnosed that the heat sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,500. The vin was not provided.

Headlights on this truck have always been weak, distance is not lit up and in rainy weather on the highway is very poor even with fog lights on.the help from the fog lights is minimal.this is a known problem by the manufacturer and is repeated many many times on various gm related owner forums.this is a safety issue and needs to be addressed and corrected by the manufacturer.

Lighting is very poor, hard to see at night. It's not safe to drive it at night.when it's raining if headlights on its fogging up from inside.

Headlights do not provide sufficient illumination to see the road.very dangerous to drive at night.

I am afraid to drive at night because the head lights are terrible. I couldn't see the tire carcass left on the highway early enough to swerve around it. I hit it with the rear wheel and did approx. 6000.00 dollars damage to the vehicle.

The new tow mirrors on this truck have led blinkers that are so bright you can't tell if someone is coming towards you when you have the blinker on. It's flashing right in your face.

Headlights not bright enough to see in the night

I was traveling on a busy roadway at 40 mph when fuel filter warning light came on suddenly and vehicle lost all power - including the loss of power steering and power braking. Thankfully i had not yet entered the highway and was able to slow vehicle down but with great difficulty and not injure anyone around and that day was not towing a load. Vehicle would not restart.i had it towed to nearest dealership who then informed me that the "bosch cp4 fuel pump" had exploded sending metal shrapnel throughout the entire engines fuel system. The only fix was the entire replacement of the fuel system at a cost of over $11k. I had just purchased the truck 3 months prior.upon hearing this, i see this has been a frequent safety problem affecting a whole line of2011 - current gm, ford, dodge, and jeep diesel vehicles equipped with the cp4 pumps. There are numerous lawsuits underway for this failure including one of a major accident while towing (what these trucks are made for) because of loss of power steering and braking upon engine stall after fuel pump explosion.the gm technical service bulletin for reference is #16-na-102. In addition, the nhtsa has received two manufacturer technical service bulletins on this very safety issue.this is very much a recall worthy safety issue. Losing engine power and loss to all power steering and power braking in these vehicles is beyond dangerous. In addition, when it is happening to vehicles designed to tow weights in excess of 30k pounds trailer load behind the affected vehicle the danger is amplified that much greater.please issue a recall immediately. People's lives are very much at stake for gm's failure to remedy a known safety issue. Gm lists it as only a "hard start or no start". They do not recognize in writing the danger of full power loss at highway speeds which is most often how it presents itself.

I see there was a recall from gm #17399 for the 2015 dual fuel tank sending unit problem.this is only for the 6.0 l gas engine.i have the duramax 6.6l engine in mine. I had the same problem with mine.the sending unit did not turn off the transfer pump and overfilled the front tank causing fuel to pour out all over the road.i caught it before the drive line caused any damage. I had it towed to the dealer and while we moved it to pull it up on the tow truck it was pushing fuel out of the filler neck of the front tank.the dealer ship refused to cover the cost saying its not part of the recall.they said it wasn't the same problem.it sure was.i have attached the repair order and the recall notification below.i am wondering if it is part of the recall and they are just not doing their job and honering it.

My vehicle is being hacked and controlled by other drivers using cell phones to gain access to my vehicle while driving! , and when passing or sitting in traffic! this has been going on for over six months now, every day! all day long!! have contacted gmc over and over, have been to their shops over and over! , they laugh at me , and tell me nothing is wrong every time. Fcc, onstar, s. Xm radio, all refuse to help me with this problem, over and over , my vehicle starts to smoke when they are doing this, they are beside me laughing with their cell phones in hand. I am going to record this and then file suit against every one of them!!!!

The front passenger and rear middle seat belts became unsecured while the vehicle was in operation within weeks apart. The failure occurred frequently. Beaman buick gmc (1531 broadway, nashville, tn 37203, (615) 251-8400) indicated that they would order the seat belt kit, but did not confirm the quantity. The dealer did not state whether the part was available. The contact was concerned that the seat belts could fail in the event of a crash. A loaner vehicle was not offered while waiting to receive the part. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and issued nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v437000 (air bags, seat belts), 16v651000 (air bags, seat belts), and 14v301000 (electrical system, seat belts). There were also three tsbs for the seat belts, but the contact did not know if the vehicle was included in any of the recalls or tsbs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

1st incident veh didn't switch from 4 to 2wd, stop veh, work switch, went to 2wd. Same time driver seat went full forward, seat back full forward, brake pedal full towards driver. Able to readjust, onstar said various electrical - believe modules- problem.was able to drive, took to dealer, unable to replicate.few months later adjusted gain on electric trailer brake control - while in motion. Same proplem, seat and seat back full forward, brake pedal full towards driver.luckily i knew what was happening and wasn't startled.4wd control @ gain control above each other, left side of dash. No other trbl with veh. A 2015 gmc 3500 crew cab 4wd diesel long box, numerous options including heated-cooled leathe power seats & power adjust pedals.both pedals moved together towards me.mileage 1st time, less than 10,000 2nd time less than 13,000.

After 3 attempts to correct the brake problem by greiner gm. The last time i drove this truck the brakes locked up in the middle of the hwy for no reason truck was brought back to dealership where they have had gm specialist check it out and i have been told the truck is un repairable , i am seeking a buy back from gm as of 10/15/20 dealer info: greiner gmc. The contact stated her husband was driving at 20-30 mph and hauling a trailer, the driver entered the highway, made a right turn and the vehicle loss of power steering assist and became difficult to steer. The vehicle was towed to cavender buick gmc west (7400 tx-1604 loop, san antonio, tx 78254) to be diagnosed. The driver was informed that the power steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the failure to (nhtsa campaign number: 14v719000 (steering) however the vin was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,000.

Front tires are continually wearing on the front outside edge.wearing until bald in first 15000 miles of ownership, multiple front end alignment calibration tests and actual front end calibration not resolving issue.front tires replaced at approximately 23,000 miles and again wearing on outside edge at 40,000 miles.worse on driver side.contacted dealer several times for resolution and contacted gm twice to open ticket.last gm ticket was 8-4030406653.tires are michelin and are supposed to last 65,000 miles.never seen this type of wear on any past gm vehicle owned.rear tires are in excellent condition.unable to get dealer or gm to find cause and resolve once and for all.tired of paying out of pocket alignment costs.the front tires are on the second set and the current vehicle mileage is 42k.i have attached images of front driver side tire which has greatest wear and image 20180328_113012.jpg is the original back tires which have no wear.front are the second set since purchasing vehicle.original set was completely bald on outside edge before 19k miles.

Vehicle was delivered to me with physical damage the one of the shocks. Part of the shock tube is crushed in, up high away from the roadway. Most likely cause is damage during vehicle transportation from factory. Two dealerships have confirmed this is the most likely and possible cause.i have brought the vehicle in at least 3 times to a dealer, and have been told that only the dealership i purchased the vehicle from can perform the warranty work for this repair. I have also called gmc customer service number in the owners manual and made a complaint there as well. I was told the same thing by the person handling the complaint, that i would have to take the vehicle to the dealership that i purchased it from. The person said they would look into it further, but never called me back.the dealership i purchased the vehicle from is located in another state, hundreds of miles away. It is not practical to drive hundreds of miles away when a local dealership can perform warranty work.

Sitting in a parking lot allowing the pickup to warm up, the rear defroster was on and started having a crackling sound and smoking. The noise and smoke stopped when the rear defroster was turned off, however approximately a minute later the window shattered and sprayed glass shards into the cab and on the back seat. The pickup was stationary and there was no possibility that this was caused by an impact. Based on the pattern of broken glass it could be seen coming from the corner of the window where the heating element is. I called gm and they indicated they would not look at the vehicle for at least 30 days to even determine the issue.
